Here we have the CS. Here are the rules to Character creation.

1st Kloudy Kloudy will be my Co-Gm. He can accept or deny characters, as well as settle any disputes that may happen.

2nd- Keep your rank in mind. No 2 is a god, no 10 is a weakling. A full detail on the ranking system will be in the lore section.

3rd. No magic may take a persons free will or ability to act. (Aces are an exception to this rule as they will basically be order keepers in the story. Feel free to discuss with the weilder of said ace as to what you would be comfortable with. Basically no God-modding without permission.

4th All RPN rules apply. Keep sexual content out of this, profanity will be acceptable but blatant toxicity will not. Violence and gore should be kept at a reasonable level as its a realistic setting. However, there will be no
gruesome body horror and posts that cross this line either myself or Destructus Kloud will ask for it to be rewritten

William is reserved, calculative and well grounded. He rarely loses his cool and takes work ethic very seriously, holding those who give in to the sin of sloth in bad graces. William is a machine, he is methodical and uses logical reasoning to achieve any goal he sets for himself. Never one to engage in pointless banter, he is rather unempathetic and it is said that drawing sympathy from him is like drawing blood from a card. William has respect for those who work hard for their power and intelligence and holds freeloaders or those who are too easy going in great distaste. Crossing him will not fail to incur his cold fury, no matter how well hidden it is, and rest assured he will never let go of a grudge.

Backstory:
William was born into a noble family, silver spoon and all. One would expect a life of shelter, happiness and prosperity with this blessed start in life. In fact, only one of those said things was actually true. William was born a defect, a subhuman, a mutant. In terms of physical changes, it seemed his ears were pointed like a fabled elf and as time passed it was observed that he was slightly shorter than men his age. However, it was the metaphysical implications brought on by his mutation that most worried his parents and the other nobles.

All residents of the suits kingdoms were assigned a number based upon their magical capability, 2 being the lowest and 10 being the highest a non-royal could achieve. Residents all had an affinity for this magic, some spent years learning their craft, some were born with a natural talent for something specific. William fell into the latter category, but his natural talent had scary implications. By age 4, William was capable of generating portals around the estate he and his family lived on. This lead to more than a few missing child mishaps. By age 6, could catch an arrow shot at him with his bare hands, much to his parents worry and disapproval. By age 8, William induced an unnatural winter upon the city for a week, blanketing the entire area in thick snow and freezing temperatures despite it being the middle of summer.

It was due to these reasons that William grew up feared and even hated. By such a tender age he already possessed more raw power than any of the suits royals. By this point, his parents, the nobles, the people, even the royalty had had enough of this. William would have a teacher, not for the etiquette of noble life or for his studies, but to hone his incredible powers. William trained and improved himself with unshakable determination, apparently hellbent on controlling these abilities to somehow find a purpose. It seemed he was uncontented with being told what he was and what to do, unsatisfied with merely living a normal life. A certain calling led him to aspire to something much greater than serving in the diamond army.

10 years later at the age of 18. William had finished his formal training and decided that it was time to truly test himself. He challenged the royals and he challenged the diamond ace. Jack of Diamonds was unable to land a hit, William's ability to react and dodge simply being too capable, and was quickly knocked out in hand to hand combat. The Queen of Diamonds fought well with their barrage of weaponry and melee skill, but each projectile was swallowed by a portal and they suffered the same fate as the jack, outmanoeuvred and unable to land a solid hit, falling unconscious from a sharp blow to the head. The King of Diamonds had to struggle through two hellish constructs that possessed William's two previous abilities, and thus was unable to even make it to the man himself.

With the royals dealt with, William moved onto the Ace of Diamonds without yet having utilised his trump card. What ensued in their fight was little more than a magical shoot out. Having taken place somewhere far from civilisation within diamond territory, the ravaged land now known as "The Crystal Marking" becoming a cultural landmark for residents of the suits kingdoms to visit. The battle itself took longer than William expected. As they poured magical energy into attack after attack at each other, William swapped his frost and portalcraft powers to his two skulls to keep up the barrage, whilst dropping into an open portal that left him directly behind the ace. Thinking he was still firing at William, he failed to notice the gauntlet that descended over his head silently.

And thus, after having executed the previous Ace, William took his place. The Crystal Marking became known as his personal abode and William found a sense of fulfillment in his victory. Here, he realised that his power had purpose: he had to protect those of the diamond with his power as an Ace because now no one else would. Resolute in his mission, William continued to hone his powers and abilities for 5 more years as an Ace, bringing him to the present. Word of the Argossian's aggression was stirring fear in the population and the Aces would undoubtedly be called to lend help. Whether William would deem it necessary for him to get involved was another issue altogether.

Abilities:
Portalcraft - William is capable of instantaneously generating a portal that will transport matter that enters it to a different location. The only rule is that he must have seen the location before to be able to form a portal there. So far, William is capable of generating a portal the size of a large city with a bit of struggle, but his limits stop him from being able to envelop the planet. The edges of every portal will split apart matter at an atomic level, meaning anything that gets stuck halfway into a portal when it closes or runs into its side will be bisected on every level.

Cryomancy Lord - William is the most accomplished cryomancer in the world. He may control the moisture in the air to form ice that he may freely manipulate and he may also simply generate ice from his body in mass amounts. His control takes precedence over other cryomancers or controllers of substances that utilise a frozen liquid. William's power has reached the point where it has conceptual applications, allowing him to even freeze time itself for brief periods.

Ultimate Perception - William has an enhanced ability to notice or perceive the hard-to-perceive and has the best reaction and reflex speed of all the aces, capable of discovering, processing, assimilating and acting accordingly to new information much faster and more easily than anyone else. This almost always allows him to make the first attack and affords him a few extra seconds to dodge or deliver attacks more easily, see through traps, find hidden objects/people or meaning in words, detect stealth magic and predict enemy movements.

Genetically Enhanced - Due to William's extraordinary powers deriving from his randomly mutated genes, he also possesses a level of physical superiority to others. Although this ability's raw power places him behind some of the other Aces, William is capable of utilising super strength, speed and durability. However this is rarely seen as he generally relies on his other abilities during combat.

Gear:
Gauntlets of Crushing - Near-indestructible battle gloves that can crush anything it holds. This enhanced grip only applies if the gloves are actually holding/crushing something, does not allow for enhanced power punches. The only thing that has ever been known to withstand the absolute crushing power of these gloves were those with incredible durability and strength.

Chaos Skulls - These skulls, when deployed, form ethereal bodies and are granted the use of a weakened version of one William's powers as well as his physical prowess. They are loyal only to William but are only able to accept basic commands (as they are not sentient). After sustaining enough damage, their ethereal bodies retreat back into their skulls and they deactivate. William cannot use the power his Chaos Skulls borrow at the same time as them. William has two Chaos Skulls.

Relationships:
Quillion - "Qullion is shameful in his boastful arrogance and is truly an embarrassment to the Downs family. His voracity for wealth and his ability to escalate situations serves as a powerful reminder that even the strong can fail to be a role model. To put it lightly, I find him infinitely annoying."

Idun - “A magical stone I inadvertently taught to be sentient. Idun is more suited to working for the people than actually leading the kingdom. I made her as strong as she is and I still think she’s better off in a charity shop. At least she’s committed, I suppose...”

Other:
He's heterosexual, but don't expect him to fall for a lass so easily! To him, love is a distraction, a weakness!

Quillon had the band forged on his own accord, as a promise to his wife that he would not allow his powers to influence the normal life that the two of them sought. The band is removed when he is away from home, where his powers are needed due to his position of Ace.

+ Overview:
Quillon is a troublemaker, and would often be the one to instigate the outbursts and arguments in many of the meetings of the Royalty. Funnily enough, he never becomes heated over those arguments, and rather observe from the sidelines what he hath begun.

+ Traits
- Arrogant: Quillon is seen by most as an arrogant fool, often taking a lax perspective towards situations because he is of the belief that his effort is above what is necessary. He speaks his mind no matter the consequences, since no one but fellow Aces are powerful enough to ever challenge him should they question his strength. This arrogant recklessness throws him into situations that would otherwise be avoided, but also allows him to branch into new possibilities that were otherwise not readily available.

- Relentless: The few times Quillon is ever challenged, he rarely would deny the chance to prove himself to yet another individual. But he is a relentless foe, often beating his combatant into absolute submission, just to prove his power. He fights to prove the difference in strength and to discourage others from even considering challenging him.

- Secretive: Despite the public's knowledge of him being an Ace, Quillon speaks little to anyone about his private life. He chooses to keep any secrets he has to himself, and trusts very few, even those in his so-called group of allies. The opposite is hardly true, however, since Quillon's ability allows himself to appear charismatic in the minds of many if he so chooses. Thus, those who are unaffected or he chooses not to charm have a difficult time trusting him naturally.


+ Extra
- Morality: Despite his almost chaotic tendencies, Quillon does have a high standard upon his moral compass. He is of an overly protective mindset, that is seldom shared with those around him. He has never been known to abuse his powers aside from any purposeful show of strength, and would never cast a hand on any innocent lives.

- Etiquette: Having earned his way to the top of the ranks, Quillon sees absolutely no one as his superior. He only shows a shred of respect towards those that revere him, and of course to the other Aces that he has yet to best.

- Attitude: Truly an attitude one would expect from an Ace, he seldom gives anyone more respect that they deserve. A firm believer of the saying "respect is earned, not given". The extent he is willing to go to prove something, is not to be tested.

- Taboo: Quillon sees nothing as absolutely forbidden, as there may be times where one may be forced to break their own taboos. The one point that may be considered taboo to him, is the pointless abuse of power.

"You stand no chance against the three of us, Quillon Downs. Challenging us spells humiliating for someone of your caliber." Tidus warned Quillon, calling out to him from the opposing end of the coliseum gates. Beside him stood both the queen and the jack, all three standing stoically and preparing for battle against this newcomer.

Lord Tidus, the Titan of the Earthen Wall, and King of the Spades.. With the power to completely manipulate all earthen stone, Tidus is capable leveling buildings with only a single motion. He uses the power of the earth to strike his foes down with rockfalls and metals from below.

Lady Lyvia, Horn of the Cresting Waters, and Queen alongside Tidus.. A manipulator of the waves, Lady Lyvia has mastered the ability to rapidly condense moisture from the air into massive bodies of water; completely changing battlefields to her advantage.

And Sir Havok, Divinity of the Immortal Lightning, the Jack of the Spades.. Sir Havok is known to be the most relentless of the trio, imbuing his own body with the power of lightning and striking at his foes with a shocking physical assault. His speed is nearly unparalleled by any other of his generation, giving him the title of divinity.

The three of them together, were an elemental trio that were a force to be reckoned with across many battlefields, and have been known to ravage entire cities with their combined strength. Challenging them would no doubt, be a difficult feat for anyone ill prepared to combat fighters with years of experience, and a variety of powerful magic beneath their belt. But Quillon was hardly intimidated, even challenging the Havok's glare from across the stadium with a playful smirk.

"Oi. Can we begin this fight now? I've got a beauty back home that promised me a date if i won this fight, and I'd hate to keep her waiting." Quillon called, with arrogance lacing his words in an attempt to goad the Royals to hasten their preparations. To this the crowd among the stadium would simultaneously shout load curses of disapproval, and scream at the top of their lungs for them to put Quillon in his place. The King only replied with a single raise of his hand, which brought the crowd onto a rolling silence.

The silence of the crowd brought an eerie atmosphere of suspense into the air.. A silence so thick, it was if it could have been sliced clean by the blade of a hot knife.. But it did not last forever. The loud roar of trumpets signaled the beginning of the fight, a fight which would be remembered throughout history..

+++++ POV of Lord Tidus, King of the Spades +++++

With the bugle signaling the beginning of the battle, Tidus and his allies were quick to dash with their coordinated assault. Both Tidus and Lyvia took to either side of Quillon, hoping to trap him between the force of their elemental barrage. Havok dashed straight for the center, with the intent to finish him quickly after he was surrounded. Their strategy appeared to be going as planned, since Quillon immediately looked to be scanning desperately for an escape from this pincer formation enacted so early into the contest.

With Tidus riding the shifting earth, and Lyvia seemingly flying atop a stream of water, they closed in on Quillon and immediately encircled him with their elements. Earthen spears bore their way out of the ground towards Quillon, which he sidestepped and rolled to avoid being impaled. Tidus spotted a glimpse of a grin from Quillon, as if dodging those spears had just won him the battle; but he received no time to rest from Lyvia, who sent tendrils of water to whip him off of his feet and face down into the dirt. Tidus rose a hand, and a column of rock rose violently from beneath Quillon, sending him meters into the air above their heads. Without a second to waste, Havok dashed between the swirling mixture of earth and water, rising into the air above Quillon with his fists held high above his head. Sparks began to gather in Havok's fists, and he brought them down onto the limp body of their foe with a force that sent shockwaves into the air of the coliseum. Quillon wasn't in the air for a second longer, the impact of his figure with the ground resounding a deafening CRACK into the ears of the crowd.

And then.. it was silence. Both Tidus and Lyvia lowered themselves from their elemental mounts, and took up positions beside Havok, who was standing meters away from the lifeless body of Quillon. "For someone who boasted so much, I expected him to last longer than the minute it took to take him down." Havok stated to his companions, crossing his arms across his chest with an overwhelming sense of confidence.

"Yes. I'm surprised to find a challenger that didn't come prepared with at least some high level wards.." Lyvia then added. Tidus could see the curiosity riddled across her face, especially when she unknowingly began chewing on the nail of her thumb. But he too was shocked, and surprised to find that their challenger had been such an easy victory.

"No matter, he's no longer capable of fighting so it is obvious that we've won this fi-" Tidus was cut off by the familiar sound of the arena trumpets, however they weren't playing the ceremonious tune of conclusion. He immediately recognized the trumpets playing the same alarm made to signal the very beginning of the fight, which began to progressively get much louder until it was a deafening tone in his ears. Tidus painfully rose both of his hands up in an effort to muffle the sound, efforts which immediately proved to be futile. Desperately, his vision darted to both Lyvia and Havok, but his eyes also appeared to have betrayed him. He began to see his surroundings begin to shatter and crack as if they were made of glass, revealing a different scenario to him that seemed to have been hidden behind that altered reality.

The ringing was gone and his eyesight was clear, but Tidus was confused as to why he was now kneeling on all fours, with his forehead pressed firmly into the dirt in front of him. A shadow made its way towards him, and the owner of said shadow stopped until he was barely an arm's length away from Tidus.

"Awake now, king? Finally.. took you long enough." Tidus knew the owner of the voice to be Quillon, who he had thought he had defeated quite easily until his senses became overwhelmed momentarily.

"Downs! Explain yourself. What trickery have you cast, and where are Lyvia and Havok?!" The king demanded, trying but without result to raise his head from his pitiful position.

"Explain myself? Trickery? Nooo.. I wouldn't dare. Magic, maybe. But I'm not devilish enough to resort to something so foul. I've got standards too, yaknow?" Quillon responded condescendingly, following with a light chuckle before saying, "And as for your two friends. I mean you should know, you did them in yourself. Take a look." And with his final statement, Tidus was finally able to regain movement of his neck and head.

Tidus was lost for words, and his eyes widened in anguish as he regretted looking up towards the dreadful sight.

The first of his companions he was able to catch sight of was Lyvia. At the very top of a pillar, created by his own magic, Lyvia hung bloodied with her hands above her head. Her hands were held in place by a single rod of steel that bore through the center of both of her palms. Her eyes and mouth were agape and her body trembled violently, as if she were experiencing a boundless amount of pain through the rods holding her hands.

Havok, was in an even worse shape. The Jack lie in the dirt, screaming in agony as a heavy boulder covered him from the waist down. The divinity was looking up towards Tidus desperately for him to remove the boulder, its weight continuing to press down the longer it lie atop him. He could barely even get out the words through his frantic screaming, and began to claw at the boulder in an attempt to pry the rock off of himself. "T-.. T-.. Tidus!!.. Please!!.. My legs!.. I can't feel my legs!!.."

He couldn't bear to look at his companions any longer, and turned back towards Quillon who would only shrug in response. "All I did was decrease their pain tolerance tenfold. the rest was your doing. I can't help but feel a little bit sorry for Havok though. The damage to his tissue is repairable, but I think his nerves have gone under so much shock.. I don't think he'll ever be able to walk normally again." The condescending tone of the challenger didn't seem to falter, nor did it show any signs of remorse.

His companions.. undergoing so much pain while he himself could only kneel towards the challenger they underestimated. "Monster! You aren't human! How could someone like you do such a thing? This isn't a fight to the death, this is a challenge!" Tidus struggled to try and force himself out of the kneeling position, but his efforts bore no fruit, and he could only glare at Quillon from the ground.

"A challenge, that I've clearly won." Quillon stated simply, crossing his arms over his chest before lowering himself into a squat to face Tidus. "The more powerful an Ace, the better it is for the kingdom. Now surrender.. I still have an Ace to defeat."

+++++ Office of the Jack, Capital city of the Kingdom of Spades - Early Morning +++++​

"What kind of documents were you looking for again? It was the trade agreements we had for the shipment of steel from the Diamonds right? Quillon asked his companion, as he continued to sort through documents. He filtered through them rather quickly, but was careless when returning the documents back onto their original places.

"Yes, damn it, how many times do I have to tell you?!" The Jack growled in return, rolling in on his wheelchair from behind his desk to the cabinet Quillon was searching through. "I don't understand why you of all people were sent to assist me. I'm the one who took years studying this kingdom's economy, not you." Despite Quillon's appointment to the position of Ace of Spades two years ago, Havok had been the last of the Royals to accept him as one of them. The Jack's brutal defeat at his hands was humiliating; worst yet, the damage he received was expected to leave him wheelchair bound for another year, but still permanently leave his legs incapable of taking heavy strain. He resented Quillon, and never fully accepted him as one of their own.

"Because you're the one who requested help. And the King and Queen are still busy with their own responsibilities, so the King cashed in a favor and asked me to help. I wouldn't be here if I didn't think it was important." Quillon thought nothing of the Jack's hostilities, continuing to rifle through the documents before finally pulling one out to examine it carefully. Holding it up to his face, he began to mumble the title of the document before a small accomplished smile ran across his lips. "Found the document. And besides, you'll be retiring soon anyway Havok, you should at least relax and enjoy you last few weeks as a Jack before you get challenged by another upstart."

Havok would only glare at the Ace, since he found nothing he could say in retort to Quillon's harsh words. He wheeled beside the Ace, reaching out to take the documents from him, only to have them risen high up above his head and out of reach.

"You could say please, Havok. It is the nice thing to do." Quillon would state mockingly, looking down towards his wheelchair-bound companion with a smirk across his face.

"Just give me the documents, Downs! We're supposed to be determining the best route for the steel shipment, not screwing around with your damn trivialities!"

"I'm aware. But a grown man like yourself should at least have some manners if he is to enter the world as a lowly 4-5, no?" Quillon's face would don a false pout as he continued to poke at the Jack's patience.

"Downs you brat! Who the hell was bright enough to even consider you for the position of Ace?! You-" He was interrupted by a knock at the door, which silenced both of the individuals in the room immediately. It was a rare occurrence for the Jack to receive visitors at his office, bar the King and Queen, but they usually sent someone in advance to let him know of their arrival. "The door's open."

The door would ease open, on the other side stood a delivery boy who couldn't have been more than fifteen years of age. In his hands was a letter, which he began to read out who it was addressed to. "I have a letter for a Quillon Downs..? The postmaster said you were to get rush delivery on this, sir.." He appeared to be uneasy with his position, or even perhaps intimidated to be in the presence of two of the kingdom's highest superpowers.

"Rush delivery. Post master usually on does that for delayed messages or urgent summons, doesn't he?" Quillon was curious as to why he of all people was receiving a letter. Most political affairs were given to the Royals, so he seldom received anything of importance through postal. He walked over to the boy and took the offered letter, tearing it open to read its contents.

I wish I could have contacted you sooner so that you could have been there with me, but she came earlier than expected and I didn't have enough time to write to you. Our little Katherine has entered the world now, and I'm sure she's eager to meet her papa . .

There's so much I wish to tell you about, but you know well enough that I would not be able to fully express my joy through some letter. I miss you love, come home soon


Aoife Downs

The letter was extremely short, but Quillon had instantly begun to feel tinges of regret for not being able to be there for his beloved. He knew, through her very brief words, that she wasn't fully expressive with her wanting him to come home. "That's just like you, Aoife.. Far too kind to ask me of anything.."

The room was filled with silence, both Havok and the delivery boy unsure of the information that had just been delivered to the Ace. Even Quillon himself wasn't moving, rereading the letter over and over until finally turning to the boy in front of him. "Bring me a horse.."

"Pardon? Sir, I'm a deliv-"[/b]

"I said, bring me a horse." Quillon repeated, his tone deepening into a menacing growl, and his amber toned eyes glowed as his softer gaze shifted into a glare. The boy was given no chance to question the demands, as the color in his own eyes shifted from a bright blue to a dull grey, and all free will was temporarily stripped from him.

Havok would recognize the ability to be exactly the same as the skill Quillon had used on the King during their challenge fight, and his mouth was immediately filled with a sour taste as he was reminded of the horrors that transpired during that day.

When the boy left, Quillon turned to face Havok and immediately handed him the documents that they had been searching for earlier. "Postpone the shipment of steel, perhaps by another two weeks. Attacks by the Jokers have been increasing tremendously in that area as of late, I'm sure they plan to weaken our supply lines by taking advantage of any trade that we take part in. I'll be near the area soon, give me a week and I'll dispose of them myself. They'll likely flee, so that's what the second week is for.."

The Ace then reached into his pocket and withdrew a small sack of coin, which jingled loudly with each shift in his movement. As if on cue, the delivery boy reentered the room and announced, "The horse is out front, sir." Quillon looked towards Havok to reassure that the Jack understood the plans, to which he received a meek nod. He didn't speak another word to Havok, and tossed the boy the sack of coins as he made his way past the door.


+++++ Countryside of Kingdom of Spades - Dusk +++++​

Quillon shakily dismounted from the horse, leaning on its neck for support to stand. He had been traveling for a majority of the day, making the trek from the capital city to a much smaller town out in the countryside of the Kingdom of Spades. A trip that would have taken him a day and a half had he been traveling at a leisurely pace, and not driven his horse to absolute exhaustion twice. At the speed he was traveling, he was forced to switch mounts twice, or else the horses would have fallen dead beneath him from being overworked.

The streets of the town were dimly lit by the oil lanterns that hung at each intersection, but the windows of each home were still bright with different families still busy at work. The quiet and calming atmosphere provided by the town was vastly different than that of the city, which was often so loud and bustling that one could easily get lost in the crowd. Quillon enjoyed the difference, taking a moment to breath in the crisp air and enjoy the silence provided by this serenity,

He made his way to the outskirts of the town, where the density of the buildings became even more sparse, and began to fill with characteristics of the natural flora. A fence post marked the boundaries of the property, and Quillon looked towards the home fondly. It was a home of simple exterior design, two stories tall with a wide front yard taken up mostly by grass. It didn't look to be very large, perhaps only three or four rooms at best. But Quillon admired it either way, it was a home he was proud of, and one that he would have been happy to live out his days in.

He tied the horse's bridle down to the nearest fence post and made his way to the front door. There he stood, a hand raised to knock up on the door, but unsure whether or not he was prepared to face what was in store. "Was she going to be angry.. sad I wasn't there..? What about the baby? What if she doesn't like me? What if she cries?" His mind was racing. For once in his life, Quillon was severely anxious, and unprepared for what lied ahead. He was frozen, afraid..

But it didn't seem like he had to wait for long. The door opened wide without him having to knock, and he was met with a flurry of auburn red hair whipping across his face, and the arms of a woman wrapping themselves beneath his arms. "How long were you going to stand outside this door, love? You looked like a fool.." The voice let out between repressed laughs, digging her face into his chest in an embrace like they hadn't seen each other in years; when really it had only been two months at most since he had the time to visit. She had a soft tone in her voice, so soft that it almost seemed warm and soothing. But Quillon didn't know how to respond, and he was left with his mouth agape, choking on words that didn't know how to get out. "I heard you dragging your feet from a mile away, must have been a rough ride then..?" Aoife then asked in an effort to get him to speak, and finally looking up towards him.

He was at least a head taller than her, so he was forced to look down just slightly. But he quickly enveloped her in his own hug, pulling her close towards him in his own show of affection. She allowed him to rest both of his hands on her waist, and even though he was fully aware that she had already given birth, he was still in awe at her sudden lack of a baby bump. "I-.. I'm sorry. I thought you weren't expecting for another two weeks.. I came as fast as I could." His words didn't even begin to express the amount of sorrow that he held behind his eyes, sorrow that she fully understood despite him trying to avoid her gaze out of shame.

"You're here now. And that's all I could ever ask for." Aoife then reassured him, raising herself up onto her toes to place a gentle kiss on his lips. "C'mon hon, you can't let your first impression with little Katherine to be of you frowning." She rose both her hands up to poke at the corners of his lips with her fingers, forcing his face into a makeshift smile.

Those words were the only goading Quillon needed, immediately having faint traces of a genuine smile draw themselves across his face. "You're a beautiful soul, Aoife. You'll never understand how much you mean to me.." His words were of gratitude towards his wife, since she was always so capable of drawing him back during his times of self-doubt.

"Oh hush, Quillon. There you go again, with all your compliments and nonsense.." Aoife tried her best to sound unaffected by his words, but she lowered her head once again into his chest to hide the tinges of embarrassment flowering across her cheeks. "You're supposed to be here for the baby, not for me.. Come on." She would then say, grasping his hands to pull him along into the house.

The interior of the house is just as expected from looking at outside. The entrance opened out into a wide room, which housed the kitchen and den. A narrow hall towards the right led to two separate rooms, excluding the single bath. That hall also included a stairway, which rose up onto a spacious second floor and could be a second room overlooking the entirety of the den. Wood flooring blanketed the entire ground, and the walls were plastered a bright white that seemed to bring out the richer tones from all the sources of light.

Aoife led him down the hall and into the first room, which was dimly lit from the faint light of the falling sun. She gave him a backward glance, the smile across her lips hardly containing the excitement she had in store for him. When Quillon entered the room, he was met with the walls painted a pastel blue, and an assortment of drawers and dressers against the walls. There were already many woodcraft toys displayed on the floors and atop shelves, he would have suspected Aoife to have already started playing with the baby. In the closest corner of the room, he finally spotted the crib. It was simple, wood-built with a smooth white almost-plastic surface. Inside lie a bundle of cloth, which Aoife was careful to pick up.

She began to coo towards the baby within the cloth, mothering the bundle with such enthusiasm that Quillon couldn't bring himself to interrupt. Aoife eventually gave in, having enough of teasing Quillon that she finally offered him the baby.

The Ace was reluctant to hold the baby, but soon reached out to grab the bundle away from Aoife. She was so light, he was afraid that if he held her too firmly he was going to hurt her, but if he wasn't firm enough she would just slip out of his hands. He looked up towards Aoife for some assistance, but she simply rose a brow and nodded her head for him to continue. He took another look at the baby, who was now looking straight up towards him with what he could only guess was out of curiosity towards this strange male figure. Katherine began to quietly mumble some unintelligible gibberish, but giggle gently with a toothless grin. Her short laugh brought Quillon to his own small fit of excited laughter, and he began to caress his daughter's face with a single finger.

At that point, he didn't have a single care in the world. Surrounded by his beautiful wife and newborn daughter, Quillon had never felt happier in his life. He was so overwhelmed with joy, he had hardly noticed a tear running down his face until Aoife reached over to wipe it away.

"Hey..!" Aoife called out to him, closing the distance between them and cupping Quillon's cheek in her hand. "Come back to me, you big baby. I can't take care of both of you." She was teasing him, and rightfully so. It wasn't often that the Perditious Puppeteer the world knew was brought to tears, even when he was just around her.

Quillon looked towards Aoife, biting his lips to try and contain his overwhelming urge to laugh and cry. Whenever he opened his mouth to talk it was like he had lost all ability to speak, there just were no words to express himself.

"I love you both . . .
so . . . so much . . ."

+ Sensory Manipulation - The near instant ability to manipulate the senses of oneself and others. Quillon must know the presence of the individual to be able to target them. This disregards physical boundaries, including walls, buildings, and other objects.
Quillon's limits are based on how many individuals he is targeting along with their strengths, limits expressed in various levels of his own stress. Quillon does become fatigued, however his recovery rate is roughly 5mins after releasing all individuals Stress indicators scale from: [Values expressed as: x(Number of individuals) L(Rank) / x(X) L(X) of second stats / etc]
1) Headaches that become sharper as his number of targets increase: x300 L2-7 / x100 L8-10 / 2 Royals
2) Loss of ability to focus, meaning individuals are more susceptible of breaking out and images flicker: x1000 L2-7 / x200 L8-10 / x4 Royals
3) Loss of complex decision making: x3000 L2-7 / x250 L8-10 / x5 Royals / x1 Ace
4) Temporary mindlessness, Quillon's abilities target based solely on reaction, and become rather detectable as false: x6 Royals / x2 Aces

Quillon's strain also immediately jumps to Scale3-4 when using Telekinesis paired with Mind Control.
- Imperceptibility: Undetectable with the use of all five senses. He can practically become invisible to individuals without any physical changes to his own body.
- Pain Manipulation: Alter an individual's tolerance for pain. A removal of one's pain tolerance makes them immune to pain, but not the physical strain on the body or any injuries sustained. One is fully capable of self destructing in this way. A decrease in pain tolerance can make a papercut feel similar to being slashed across by a broadsword, or a punch the same as being hit full force by a charging bull.
- Hallucination: Manipulate what the target is able to observe. This is his primary use of the ability, since it requires minimal effort on his part. He is capable of infinitely creating apparitions for a small handful of individuals, or a single large-scale vision to thousands of individuals at one time.

+ Mind Control - (Now under its own section, to further specify it's uses.) User can manipulate, modify and control the thoughts, mindsets, and upper brain functions, allowing the ability to render others unconscious, suppress their memories, and negate the use of abilities. Specifities include:
- Individual strength: 1-5 often succumb immediately, 6-9 can last roughly 1-2mins. 10+ have lasted around 7mins without succumbing. Current maximum time an individual has resisted is 10mins, being a previous Ace. (As of 3/3/2019)
- Prior experience: Anyone who has previously been under the influence of Quillon's mind control becomes hardier over time. The increase in time scales per individual, with the lower ranks only increasing by a few seconds per use, but anyone 8+ resisting about 15seconds longer. 10+ often scale up to minute, with the longest increasing their resistance up to 2 mins per use.
- Preparedness: Individuals who are completely unaware of Quillon's presence, ability, or that he is even attempting to target them fall at a much higher rate. For a lack of better terms, the element of surprise. Any Rank9 or below fall instantly, 10+ have their current times cut in half.
- Sensory Overload: As individuals have developed resistances, Quillon also has extensive offensive capabilities at his exposal. Those who can fend off immediate mind control will likely be bombarded by his other abilities: a varying array of pain manipulation, vision and hearing fluctuations, etc.. This often leaves all but the most mentally sound individuals hindered in some way. There is little time to recover during this overload, and individuals will break down and succumb eventually without outside intervention. Quillon has more difficulty targeting multiple individuals who can resist his control, and often chooses to focus on just a singular target. Once broken, the individual falls completely under Quillon's whim until released.

+ Telepathy: The ability to send and read the thoughts and minds of others.
- Memory Transference: Quillon can take or give memories in their entirety. When taking a memory, he can only remove from others memories that he has also been present to experience. The only exception to this is when the target is under total mind control; however, Quillon can only remove a memory that has occured within the last month, give or take a few days depending on the strength of the memory. To take a memory, Quillon has to have physical contact with the individual for 5-10 seconds, varying depending on how important the memory is. When giving a memory, the receiver is able to see the memory as clear as if they had lived it. Because of this ability, Quillon has passively gained absolute retention of memory, and can recall them to the smallest detail.
- Skill Mimicry: When Quillon is reading the mind of an individual as they are using their ability, he gains access to their knowledge of how to use the ability. Because of this, he has a much easier time trying to recreate the ability than someone who just observed it being used. However since he has no affinity towards the copied magic, his level of proficiency is at a much lower level compared to a mage who has an affinity, no matter how hard he practices. Because of this, he has wide variety of small spells from varying degrees at his disposal, however none are particularly powerful enough to make a large enough change in combat.

+ Telekinesis: The ability to manipulate objects and matter with his mind. Quillon's ability allows for him to move any matter at will, truly frightening and giving the impression that he is deserving of his title as the Puppetmaster. His telekinetic abilities are rather basic, using the ability to push or pull objects and people towards himself.
- Binding: Quillon can stop objects and individuals from moving, effectively locking them in place.
- Levitation: The ability to give other sources of matter the temporary ability to float. Can be applied to self.

+ Precognition: The ability to predict aspects of the future prior to it happening. Currently is not controlled, and happens sporadically in times of danger.
- Danger Sense: When targeted by an assailant, Quillon's precognition triggers to provide him with enough time to avoid the attack. If the best possible solution to avoiding harm is two seconds, he is given three. If the best is fifteen seconds, he is given sixteen. However, he is not provided with the solution. Quillon is also given the direction of the assailant, but no distance or plan of attack.

+ Limit Break (Passive): The ability to exceed the normal limits of a human being, by controlling one's mind to believe one is capable of surpassing physical boundaries. However, Quillon's excessive use of the ability throughout the years has caused his body to retain the effects. Quillon's physical strength, speed, and stamina far exceed those of normal standards. Quillon is able to balance increasing all traits, however fully exerting himself into maximizing just one creates immense potential. Quillon cannot interchangeably flip between maximizing traits rapidly, there is a short ten second delay before he can switch from maximizing one trait to another.
- Strength: At normal strength, he is capable of effortlessly punching dents into armor, and still shattering the bones beneath. At full exertion, Quillon's blows have been known to create vibrations upon impact that can be felt up to 30m away.
- Speed: Quillon's normal running pace is rated to be about twice as fast as the average human being at full sprint (for statistical reference, he can run 35mph). When fully exerted, Quillon's movements are scale to twice that speed.
- Stamina: Quillon has not been observed to tire, even after battles lasting half a day and with full use of his other magical abilities.
- Durability: The use of Limit Break has hardened his bones and vastly increased the amount of strain on his flesh that most physical blows deal practically no harm. However, attacks dealt by sharpened weaponry like blades can still injury him normally, given they are sharpened and given enough force. He is also still susceptible to non-physical attacks, like fire and freezing.

+ Aoife (EE-fa) Downs (Age: 33), Wife of Quillon, Rank 4:
- A housewife and mother to one daughter, Aoife is the one love of Quillon Downs. Her public image is minimal, due to her wishes to live a quiet and peaceful life away from the glamour Quillon receives for being an Ace. They sparingly spend time with each other because of their drastic lifestyle differences, but Quillon still makes every effort to spend time with his family while also avoiding the public eye.
- The marriage between Quillon and Aoife is the true representations of opposites attracting. Whilst he bares his viciousness to the public, she is far more gentle
and radiates kindness like the sun with its light. She humbles Quillon and brings out the more human traits in him, although he would be the very last person to admit it.
- Despite her preference to live a quiet life, she has been more than happy to welcome the other Royals into her home as if they were family.
- She is given the rating of a Rank 4 solely from her magical prowess; she would have been rated much higher on the scale because she is the spouse of an Ace, but she refused to have her life vastly influenced because of it.

- Aoife's power specializes in Reconstruction, an ability that allows her to reconstruct the physical form of matter to a different shape. For example, she is able to capable of reshaping a bar of steel into a blade, however it would be missing a leather handle if it wasn't included in the base materials. Her magic is reliant on creating finished products out of base materials, or even fixing objects that would have otherwise been permanently broken like glassware or fine china, but is also limited based on her amount of training invested in the craft; which she neglects to do. She is currently capable of reconstructing objects like weaponry or furniture, but is incapable of reconstructing something of larger proportions like a house or organic matter.

+ Katherine 'Kat' Downs (Age:13), Daughter of Quillon, Rank 3:
- Daughter to Quillon and Aoife Downs, Kat lives a quiet life alongside her mother. Like her mother, public knowledge of her existence is kept to a minimum. Her lack of time spent with her father does nothing to diminish the fact that she absolutely adores him, and is eager to spend as much time as possible with him when he chooses to visit home.
- Her physical characteristic are mostly taken from her mother's side, but she gained the defiant streak from her father. She was eager to take up combat at an early age against her mother's behest, and far exceeds her peers at tests of skill.
- Her abilities had only begun to manifest within the last two years, and she has only begun to finally become accustomed to them. Currently, her abilities are shown to be able to reconstruct ethereal matter based off of memory, a pseudo-fusion of both her mother and her father's abilities. The materialized objects she has been able to create at the moment have never been any larger and mundane than a short sword, and never last more than about a minute. With her current untrained control and capabilities, she has been placed at the rank of 3.
- She adores the company of the other Royals and looks up to them as if they were idols. She has an even higher admiration for William, the Ace of Diamonds, considering his calculated and level-headed personality to be the epitome of "cool"; much to the jealousy of Quillon.

+ Travis Arelius: King of Spades
- Quillon holds a deep-seated but rarely expressed respect for the current King of Spades, miraculous considering the difficulty it is to gain even a shred of true respect from him at all. Respect earned from the King's continued efforts for a position among the royal seats, despite his previous attempt and vapid defeat.
- Despite Travis's apparent lesser position, this would be one scenario in which Quillon would be willing to follow orders to an extent. The king's practicality intrigues him, because it isn't unlike his own untrodden path in finding solutions.
- In a sense, Quillon sees Travis as a receptical for his own inability. Quillon still has a conscience and follows the dream of being a stoic figure written upon in the history books, yet knows that with his reputation it would be nigh impossible. Travis, is the one he sees as the one to fulfill that dream for him.

+ Mortemiah: Queen of Spades
- Mortemiah is the one of the small few individuals he has deep-seated respect for. She was his mentor and his primary guardians as a child, molding him into who he is today. This is seen primarily in their personalities, where they share many of the same traits and mindsets.
- Having no sense of patriotism or will to become the Ace, it was Emia that convinced him to pursue it. She understood the strength of his abilities, and knew that he would be able to acquire the position if he so wished.
- Long since passing the time where she has been seen as an adviser to him, he now views her more like a rival and individual to continue striving to be better than. He seldom lets people know of their past, and treats her minimally different in comparison to the others. However, he has never shown any purposeful disrespect towards her, and any that is seen as such is often in a playful gesture.

+ Sheila Ivoren: Jack of Spades
- Unlike Travis, where he holds a respect for his accomplishments, Quillon pities Sheila. She is powerful in her own right but after personally watching her combat with the former Jack of Spades, he sees her fight as nothing more than a pure coincidence. Her ability perfectly countering the Jack he had crippled years prior left her with easy prey, which he views as lowering the value of the newly acquired position.
- He had met her sparingly few throughout her childhood because of his close work environment with her adopted father. None of the interactions were rather notable as they were more focused towards the kingdom, and he took no note of her until her power began to rise to the point she challenged for the position.

“I would rather be a little too kind, a little too naive and a little too forgiving than be the one to hurt someone".

The current Queen of Diamonds is the result of a promise written in childhood laughter and dreams of youth with nothing to lose. Idun is the embodiment of all-encompassing kindness and compassion; often referred to as being too kind, too naive and too idealistic. According to herself though, there is no such thing as too much kindness.

Idun believes in the good of all earthly things and sees the root of evil to be the lack of love. While firm in her opinions she tries her best to accommodate and understand the thoughts of those around her but often fails to do so due to her stance in matters. At times like these, she can come across as childish and ignorant and eventual consequences might be overlooked in favor of her beliefs. She tends to think very much in the present so to say and when disapproved she resorts to sulking. These qualities contrast rather sharply with her otherwise calm and soft-spoken demeanor; illuminating her young age and the fact that she's still just a child.

Another side of said childishness is her attachment to the Ace; complaining if she can't see him and sneaking away to do so.

Sometimes glimpses of something else can be seen resurfacing in her iridescent eyes; a forlorn look, uncharacteristic and unspoken of.

Backstory:

Idun is a miracle born from the careful cultivation of nature's wonders. For eons she slumbered at the bottom of a lake, developing forms until one day she was awakened by the chaos caused by the Ace of Diamonds in the "Crystal Marking". By absorbing the waste magic she was given life and movement and surfaced amidst the crystal landscape as the first of her kind.

By the hand of the Ace she was given name, speech, and the knowledge to function as a human; eventually taking on the role as the Queen of Diamonds under his guidance.

As the Queen of Diamonds Idun is to manage and maintain peace and order in society; a task which has proven difficult a great too many times. Her age, as well as education and personal beliefs, are constantly scrutinized and while loved by the people she has become less favorable amongst the aristocrats. There are also discussions in the inner circles regarding her competence and suitability and attempts to lessen her influence has been made on the grounds of her lack of knowledge.

Crystallization/Carbon manipulation

Idun's entire body consists of diamond and holds the properties of it which make for both excellent defense as well as offense. Due to her nature, she can regenerate wounds and limbs by transmuting carbon into diamond and she can also reattach severed limbs with little to no effort. Idun can through the means of changing the properties of carbon, in inorganic and organic matters, create and shape diamonds freely. Transmuted carbon won't remain stable for too long and will disintegrate after a certain time has passed.
Loses a part of her memories and the magic keeping her alive upon being beheaded.

Light Generation

A natural side effect of her diamond nature since they're triboluminescent. Upon fracture of asymmetrical materials, a charge is separated. When the charges recombine, the electrical discharge ionizes the surrounding air, causing a flash of light. The intensity of light is adjusted according to the impact of the fracture.

Inhuman strength/speed/endurance

Strength level:
Able to stop an armoured car dead in its tracks, punch holes through tanks and lift a small jet (6,400 kg)

Speed level:
Does not get fatigued and can upkeep a maximum speed of 50 mph for unknown periods of time.

Endurance:
Can tank extreme amounts of damage, pressure and heat (up to 850 degrees) but is vulnerable to cleavage/damage in certain orientations due to the cleavage plane of the material. While the majority of her body is only susceptible to the damage made by another diamond these cleavage planes mark spots that are far more vulnerable that can be destroyed with sharp and precise forces of other materials.

Prayer of a Gem

Idun can, as a last-ditch effort, disassemble and summon an army of thousand diamond warriors. Each warrior carries a piece of her original body and is reinforced by the magic present in that piece.
She will, due to the extreme sectioning of her soul, lose all memories if reassembled but it's more than likely that recovering all pieces will be near impossible.

Idun and William's relationship is complicated in the sense that it stretches over so many different planes from mentor to father to brother to friend. To put it simply he's her everything and if he wished for it he could revert her back into a pile of lifeless diamonds again. Idun adores him and would do anything for him but it doesn't stop her from criticizing his cold mentality.
Despite him being the ace she's very overprotective of him.

Jack of Diamonds

"Jack can sometimes be a little moody but I think he's really a nice person actually. I can see it in his eyes."
Idun considers Jack to be her senior and looks up to him like a junior would. Seeing as he's been a Jack for a while she tries to get tips from him and copy his method of working. So far, however, she's been rather unsuccessful in both aspirations.

"Ethan is an incredibly hard-working person and I would like to get to know him better. It's kind of hard to approach him, however, and I do get a little nervous when around him..."
Ethan is probably the most authoritarian person that Idun knows and she harbors deep admiration for his dedication. She feels that, in comparison to him, she's an inferior ruler and fearful of perhaps being judged she holds back around him. One day, however, she will stand as his equal she has promised herself; so that she may not burden him any longer.

Other:
Suffered from bad speech impediments in her early years but became able to articulate under the teachings of the Ace. Said speech impediments can act up during emotional distress.
Example of errors can be the inconsistent pronunciation of words and the displacement of vowels and consonants resulting in a word like "potato" becoming "topato".

Idun can sometimes be heard humming to a melody. She doesn't know the name of it and she doesn't know where she heard it before.

Due to her nature, she can neither taste nor smell. She can, on the other hand, hear and see perfectly well.
Pain is reduced to vibrations which can distract her.

Idun has no need for sleep or food and can quite frankly, not eat anything as it would just get stuck inside of her.

Because of this disgrace, Ethan's family disowned him when they realized that their son was worthless. With the only ability to his name being True Sight, making him no better than a commoner. People mocked him for being pathetic, saying that it was impossible for anyone with such a divine bloodline to be so weak. While most people would just settle with their position after years of being mocked, Ethan saw this as an opportunity to become greater and honed his ability to use True Sight until he could see more than just the flow mana but of all kinds of cosmic energy.

This lead to him discovering his true power, which would cause fear among all those who had to compete against him, a natural ability to control the Dark Energy of the world, Dysidia, with a level of mastery never seen before. Ethan's Darkness manipulation became his staple magic, and he would work day and night during the years rising up from Rank Four to Rank Ten and beyond to perfect this Magic. Learning from scratch all the skills associated with it because there was simply no mentor that could guide him in his path to Mastery over Darkness. Every night he would spend hours trying to manipulate the shadows to do his bidding. Once he became proficient at that, he began to extend that to creating clones of himself. Once he became proficient at that, he learned how to make clones that would automatically do some task and so on.

With this new found power, he attended the Tournament of Jack's as a recently appointed Rank 10, and absolutely crushed his opposition. The following months he would then attend the Tournament of King's, impatient to wait another half-year to attend the Tournament of Queen's. While obviously a tougher opponent, Ethan dismantled the King of Diamonds with an unprecedented display over his mastery of magic. Like others within this generation of Mages, he showed himself to be a prodigy like the rest of his peers in dismantling the old guard of Royalty in ways that many had not seen in ages.

Ethan would face his first loss in a duel when challenging William Rundell Haus Code in a private sparring session prior to what would have been an official challenge to become the Ace of Diamonds. At the time William only recently became an Ace, but Ethan was ambitious and wanted to usurp his higher up from his position as soon as he could. The two dueled, and it proved to be an incredibly even match. Each of their magical powers seemingly matched each other one for one.

Both having the ability to manipulating an element of their choosing with incredible mastery.

Both having the ability to create and use portals to move around the battlefield at blistering speeds.

Both having the ability to control miniature armies of soldiers that did their bidding.

Both equally skilled in their ability to perceive and react to information via William's Ultimate Perception and Ethan's True Sight.

But at every turn, William revealed himself to be inexplicably better than Ethan. It frustrated him to no end as the battle drew on. Soon as the battle came closer to its end, it became clear to Ethan, for all the work he put into perfecting his art, he could not simply beat the wonder child that stood before him. William was faster, stronger, and more proficient with magic than Ethan saw himself ever being. More importantly this battle became fire towards his hatred toward the Ace as he felt cheated that for all his hard work in teaching himself a magic that was lost to the ages and years of being mocked for his weakness, there was someone who existed that was just born more gifted than he was.

Personality: Ethan, because of his life experiences, comes off as jaded and cynical. He lacks trust in others and does not necessarily lend himself out to be the most friendly of people, distancing himself from any personal relationships and maintaining an air of solitude. Despite this, he is also surprisingly diplomatic, able to navigate and resolve conflicts well embracing his role as a leader, moreso than his other comrades. It also helps that despite his youth, he gives off the heavy presence of an older and wiser ruler.

Abilities:

Shadow Magic: All of Ethan's Offensive and Defensive Capabilities are generated from his ability to manipulate Dysidia to use a form of Dark Magic called Shadow Magic. Ethan can use and manipulate the properties of shadows and darkness around him to provide him the array of other abilities he has at his disposal. Despite its versatility and strength, Shadow Magic has set conditions in order to be used. There must be a source of light and a source of darkness within his vicinity. If neither of those exist, Ethan cannot use Shadow Magic

  • Draw Darkness: Manipulates nearby shadows to create manifestations of darkness to use as weapons in combat. While they'll mostly take the form of swords, daggers, knives or arrows, he can create other manifestations of darkness as well such as dark tendrils, armor, and other non offensive creations.

  • Shadow Soldiers: One of the greatest manifestations of this power are Ethan's Shadow Soldiers. Unlike William's Chaos Skulls and other minions, Ethan has full control over the movements of each of these soldiers, and on top of that they are invulnerable to physical attacks. However, he is only limited to 4 of these as managing anymore takes a toll on his mental state, drawing him into madness as it becomes increasingly harder to control more than that many shadow soldiers, since the magic splits his mind into each shadow body.

  • Shadow Step: Ethan can merge with the shadows and move around within them undetected. This increases his overall mobility and allows him to reappear wherever there are shadows cast. Shadow Soldiers can also use this ability to move across wide areas as well.

  • Great Wall of Darkness: Ethan creates several much larger, non controllable shadow soldiers all bearing shields to block and repel enemy attacks and create a temporary wall around himself and his allies.

True Sight: Has the ability to sense the flow of mana and other energies around him. One of the first magical abilities Ethan developed, this is by far one thing that truly sets him apart from the other members of the Royalty and even the other Kings. His mastery over this form of vision is almost as keen or better than his own two eyes. In combination with his ability to cover large areas around him in darkness, he can move and react unhindered by the lack of other senses.

Gear:

Un-Lux/Re-Lux - A small device that can capture any source of light and snuff it out. The device can also reignite light sources as well. Providing him the tactical advantage to create shadows where they need to be in order to move around or create shadows on the spot as Ethan can only manipulate darkness and not create it.

Relationships:

William Rundell Haus Code - Ethan harbors ill-feelings toward the current ace. Feeling that the Ace's existence ruins everything that mages stand for as William was born naturally gifted due to his augmented genes, rather than working to the top like others. Even though William totes around the ideology of working hard for one's own power, Ethan does not see the Ace in that light, only seeing that William was the anti-thesis of that very ideology.

In her mind, the goal of life is an ever-growing pursuit of power, whether it was personal strength, accumulating wealth, establishing connections - because power is how you make a difference in this world. Moral dissension and half-baked philosophies hold nothing against this ultimate truth, and she was ready to see this truth to its logical extreme. Nay, even the grand title of ace would not be enough for her - to seek a path even higher, one not unlike godhood. . . perhaps only then, can this truth be contested.

When it comes to her more regular social life, things are quite rocky compared to her ambitious visions. Dealing with one such as Kynan, fear is a common emotion to behold in her presence. And hatred. Oh, and disgust too. Popular is not exactly a word that describes her, for good reason, but even she has her loyal following. Those who share her authoritarian belief laud her work ethic and her sheer determination, as well as her unwavering will to strive for greater things and enact - a sometimes brutal - justice when need be. To keep people in line you must make an example of them, else they will become too lax - and laxity in her world meant weakness. For her people to become strong, she must curb this weakness wherever and whenever it rears its ugly head, no matter the derision it cultivates in her people. For when the time comes for this nation to test its mettle against the others, only the strongest will make it on top and she will be damned sure that the Kingdom of Clubs will enjoy its view there.

To this day, when the day is still and all seems to be at ease, this sound creeps back into her mind, echoing. Kynan's military upbringing was not an uncommon one, but when one is so isolated from her peers it can feel as though her suffering was hers and hers alone. Her guardians were cruel under the pretense of love - they said they had wanted her to grow strong, but their deafening shouts and vicious beatings only bred weakness. She became timid and afraid, every day was walking on eggshells just to avoid another 'lesson' from her father or from her mother. But she did not resent them, nor did she pity herself. Rather, at some point, it was like something broke inside of her.

Alone with her trauma, she slowly felt as though her thoughts ceased to be her own. The mantra of her guardians slipped into her voided mind:
Weakness is evil. Weakness is evil. Weakness is evil. Weakness is evil, Weakness is evil.
They explained it to her on many occasions - perhaps too many occasions, even, but she never really paid attention. She still didn't get it, really.

But she understood one thing.
The day she fought back, she stopped her father's hand. Then, everything suddenly became clear to her, like gazing at her own reflection in a crystal pool.
Weakness is evil.

Kynan had always been a talented mage, but without the freedom to express her power she had never had much chance to prove herself. Though her military service had been mandated by her parents at first, now she participated of her own free will, with greater purpose. Her excellence on the field shined a light on her true potential - it was not a fast climb, but at age 17 she was recognized as a Rank 10 mage and she wasted absolutely no time pouring her efforts and the next five years into securing a royal seat.

There, she could begin her life anew. And the lives of others. . . perhaps they would experience an awakening as well, as she had.
But first, she had her own lessons to teach.

She think of herself as roleplaying a young girl, this thought also distract her from the fact that she can die anytime from heart attack or fragile backbone. Besides, she enjoy this body, this reminds her of her younger days.

Backstory:
There was once a tale of a creepy old woman that lives alone in the mountain. Well, maybe not alone because witnesses always said that she has some headless figures following her everywhere, helping with whatever the heck she was doing up there.

Nobody care at that time but the name of that old woman is Remi Rumialin. She choose to became a hermit in the mountain after a fire burned all she has, including her family. She spent her time honing her golem magic to extreme level and doing lots of suspicious experiment, some people even accused her for kidnapping kids from the nearby village. The authority never able to catch her because she use some methods that allows her to hide deep inside the mountain.

It changes 39 years ago. When the old woman decided to take the challange to become an Ace. She beats the three royals by flooding the whole castle with endless flow of small-sized earth golem. Overwhelming them for hours, never let them catch a breath and finally let them tire themself while she hide safely underground.

Then comes her fight with the current Ace at that moment, Triton. People described it as the battle of the titans. As Triton summoned waves of his leviathan companions, the old woman turned the mountain where she lived before into a golem that towers over the kingdom, it's so big that some people from the neighboring kingdoms mistook it for the 'Sillhouette of the God'. The battle ends when Triton desperately use all of his power to destroy the golem, overexerting himself in the process.

Now that the woman had become the Ace. She set up a lot of golems all over the city in inanimated state. When something urgent happened like burning house or bandit raid happened, the nearby golems will come alive and aid the citizen in solving the problem. Her reputation slowly becomes better and better, also nobody called her creepy old hag anymore because she seems to get younger as the time goes on.

Have you ever met someone that could be really good at anything that they actually tried to do but were so lazy that they never did. Well in some ways that is what kind of man Axton really is for the most part. Axton doesn't really try hard for much of anything which is perceived as weird by others since he became the king of hearts. He can be carefree as to no matter what happens he comes out on top. When it is time to be at a meeting he will be late but be perfectly prepared somehow. Although he does strangely enough take fighting seriously depending on the opponent but in normal fashion he has no desire to become an Ace. For him it's not because he is sure he would be able to do it but because it might be the only thing he couldn't be lazy about. Now funnily enough he isn't cocky either about his success since he is smart enough to know that anyone could do what he does if they worked hard and put some effort into life. Besides all that he is very selective to who or what he gives his loyalty too since he has learned over life that you have to be careful with those you deal with.

Backstory:
Axton had been born into a normal family who lived a normal life and with no one who was born more than rank 3. He on the other hand was much more special than the rest as he had been classified as a rank 5 and his family expected much from him. To their dismay though Axton just wanted long about all day and do nothing. When forced by his parents to do something out respect he would do as they wished and they would be astonished how well he did. This drove them to force him into working hard everyday then on. Axton was fully aware what was going on but he was so good at everything he did that it was never a problem. It had even been good for him in the long run as one day he looked up and he had become a rank 7.

Without any argument at the age of 17 Axton joined the military leaving his family behind as they wished for him. Needless to say he was both liked and hated during his service in the military. Any order given he would take his time to actually comply with as he was always feeling like doing anything at the moment. But when he did get up to do as ordered he would not just succeed but outshine all others. This had been a frustrating thing for those in command of him since he was so lazy but they would get rid of him for how good he was. A year later as a "punishment" when he reached rank 10 he was made to go take military education with others so to improve him and hone him into the perfect soldier. While he was there he kept on with doing what he always does for 5 years not once ever trying at anything he did, except for one thing. Due to being around others of great strength he came to learn that he like fighting seriously since it was the only time he felt like his efforts meant something.

After 5 years of study and training he finally after so much asking and begging was allowed to go visit his family who he had missed. What he found instead was not what he expected in the least. His family was completely killed with not a single survivor except himself. He had asked around and no one was sure how it had happened. From digging into it a little more he found the only person that was willing to apparently tell the truth. What his neighbors had failed to tell him was that a group of soldiers lead by Commander Magnus, his former commander who he was assigned too, going into his home. Furious Axton came up with a plan to avenge his family without ever having to worry about getting caught.

The following month Axton joined the kings royal tournament with a desired to not just try but to succeed beyond all things. It was the first time in his life he had been so serious and in the end he came out on top. His first act as the king of hearts he called in Commander Magnus to have him and the group of soldiers under his command to go on a recon mission. What the commander did not see is that Axton was what they found at the location they were sent to. With so much distance from them and home no one could hear their screams as Axton scorched them all to death. Axton never found out why his family was killed but he didn't really care at that point.

After that Axton has become more relaxed once again with the knowledge his family had be avenged and all anyone would know is the commander and his troops were killed by terrorist. As of now he has been the current King for 2 years.

Soul of Darigaas the Destroyer- Axton possesses the soul of the dragon god inside him that allows him to channel draconic energy and form a full set of dragon armor around his body. The armor he creates gives him much protection from physical damage that he might take and prevents fire from hurting him. In addition it also gives him great physical strength.

Flight- While in his dragon armor Axton sprouts wings that he can use to fly at high speeds

Dragon Fire- Axton can create and manipulate fire in anyway shape or form he pleases with little effort but has a problem with how intense he can make it. At his current strength it would take him about half a day to destroy a whole city by himself with his fire alone.

Draconic Channeling- Axton is able to further channel the draconic energy he has inside him to increase one attribute about him for up to 10 minutes. This includes but is not limited to his strength, speed, intelligence, mental fortitude, endurance, and natural healing

Gear:
Axton's Trident- It is a weapon forged from the same power that creates his armor and is used purely for offensive reasons. It surprisingly has no special qualities to it but can be reformed if broken.

Personality:
Travis as he is now is vastly different to how he was in his youth. He used to be proud, honourable and valiant, as well as being totally confident in bis own strength. That all changed after he was crushed by the combined might of the royals in his foolhardy attempt to become an ace. This has led to him becoming far more pragmatic and colder. He now does without hesitation things that he would have balked over earlier. The shattering of his pride taught him to do anything for the sake of success no matter how vicious or dirty. He has become quite jaded through his life, both through his military service and personal life.

Backstory:
Travis Arelius was, from birth, a genius. He came from a powerful clan that had produced Aces and Royalty in the past, and was their most skilled and powerful birth in a generation. He was raised in an environment where his shortcomings were ignored and his strengths sung to the heavens. Anything he wanted was his, be it money, women, power, or more. He reached the rank of 10 at an incredibly early age and was then groomed to take over as Ace until he eventually made the attempt, sure of his victory.
He lost so badly he nearly died.
It was a very bitter pill to swallow, and for a time it wasn’t even known if he would walk again. Luckily the deep pockets of his clan allowed for successful medical treatment and a full recovery. Physically at least. He would never forget the feeling of his body being pulverised beneath the assault of the Royals. The knowledge that there was someone who could face them all simultaneously with ease (in fact, four such someones) was almost a physical pain to this proud son of heaven. He was forced to set his sights lower, a mild disappointment to his clan but they were still happy to produce a Royal. Becoming a King was fairly easy for him. He breezed though military training and service with his natural talent. Tidus was a little tough, but Travis was in no danger throughout the battle. He has been King for about 10 years at the start of the story. Travis did not attempt to become an Ace again because he had the fortune of being present to witness the victory of the new Ace of Spades in the same challenge that had torn him apart. This was the final blow to his pride, and Travis resolved to simply do the best he could as a King, but accepted that the rank of Ace was simply beyond him.

Beast Mimicry:
Travis has the ability to mimic the power of certain magical beasts that he has hunted in his life. He has the capacity to store 5 beast spirits within his body, which he can draw on the powers of at any given time. These beasts are long-dead but in life each was an easy match for a 10, and took a dedicated and numerous hunting party to bring down. Their powers scale with Travis’ raw mana and ability, so what was previously merely 10-class is now on the level of a Royal. However, only one ability can be used at a time. Swapping out a beast is possible but is very difficult, and Travis has devoted a long time into cultivating their abilities so would be loathe to do so.
Beasts:
Griffin: Grants him the power of flight, as well as high-level agility and the ability to manifest razor-sharp claws which he uses to fight with. They are not high in raw power but are extremely fast.

Basilisk: Grants him the power of petrification, as well as a powerful defence. Petrification is more suited to dealing with large numbers of weaker enemies rather than fewer strong ones. It would be very difficult to fully petrify someone above a 10 unless they were unconscious or otherwise willing, but it serves as a useful support ability to slow them down. Travis' eyes emit a blinding green light, and any living thing exposed to this light will begin to undergo a process of petrification, with the speed at which they petrify based off of their rank. For example, a 10 might end up with patches of their skin turned to stone, while a Royal might just find it slightly harder to move around and experience discomfort. An Ace would be entirely unaffected unless they allowed it to happen.

Minotaur: Grants him the one thing Minotaurs are famous for: overwhelming brute strength. This creature backs up the rest with raw power that Travis can use to bulldoze through nearly any obstacle.

Enenra: This grants him a power different to the others. While the others are focused on combat, this one is focused on survivability and stealth. It grants him the power to essentially turn into smoke and shadow, rendering him invulnerable to conventional harm, though he remains vulnerable to wind-based attacks capable of dispersing his body.

Gravity Sabre: A high-grade weapon that dramatically increases in weight at the moment of impact with the target, increasing its offensive power further.
Relationships:
Sheila Ivoren: Travis respects her competence and willingness to bend the truth for the sake of success. He feels slightly odd around her as she was raised by one of the men that nearly killed him but generally keeps that to himself. As well as this, he doesn’t think badly of her for her victory against Lord Havok. In his mind her ability to tailor herself against his abilities and willingness to face him in his weakened state only increases his admiration for her.
Quillon Downs: A deep-rooted hatred. It is not just that Quillon succeeded where Travis failed, but rather that he takes every opportunity to throw his weight around and act dominant, and there is nothing Travis can do. He can tolerate his presence for short periods but any longer than this and he gets close to snapping.

Twig stands at 5 ft 8 inches with a weight of 120 lbs, and looks unusually young for his age. He has fair skin and would describe himself as skinny. His bronze-colored hair reflects easily in the sun in a gold hue. He has brown eyes that are deep and kind in nature. He prefers to wear trousers that are in a deep brown color, a tattered coat that he buttons up, and a collared shirt. To finish this off, he wears a bright cobalt blue ribbon as a tie. Usually he wears shoes that are suitable for the occasion, which would be boots.

Personality:
Twig is usually soft-spoken and doesn't like to raise his voice particularly much. He still manages to drive his point through since his soft voice has a strange ability to project across loud places. However, the problem with this is that he is easily drowned out by some extremely aggressive, adn when that happens, Twig gets easily frustrated. When with strangers, Twig is extremely polite and almost stiff. With more knowledge about the people he is talking with, Twig ends up becoming much more social. He is generally extremely forgiving to mistakes and is extremely kind and willing to help. He is also unusually calm. Only when things are exceptionally bad does he ever panic.

Twig has a strong doctor moral code that he upholds. This moral code makes it so that if someone asks him for help, he provides what he can. It also means that if someone needs to confide in him with something, he would keep their secret. This moral code is also what might influence him to assist the enemy with their wounded, which could be seen as a sign of weakness and betrayal. But the urge to help almost overpowers Twig.

Twig likes to chew mint leaves, whenever out in public or when he is studying. He loves books for the knowledge they bring. He dislikes the taste of seafood.

Backstory:
Twig grew up in a large household with four children, with Twig being the second oldest. He lived a quiet life in a town where everyone knew each other. It was a place where everyone had what they needed. Everyone was twos or threes, except for Twig's family, which was filled with 6s since there was powerful wind magic that ran through everyone's veins. There was food on the table. Twice a week Twig was able to eat eggs. There wasn't a normal "school" though.

Starting when he was eight, Twig had an interest in the field of medicine. So he took every opportunity he had to be with the local healer at and learn the trade. It was probably due to the fact that he wasn't the oldest child that he was able to sneak out and learn from the healer.

When he was ten he had already gained a small but significant amount of knowledge in the practice of healing. He was able to further it more through tomes the local healer had.

The local healer, who was extremely old, died when Twig was 13. Due to his early interest in healing, he ended up the most knowledgeable in the matter. Because of this, he ended up taking the position as the local healer, which he performed at adequately but not exceptionally.

It was around this time that Twig became distanced from his family. He had more or less moved into the vacant house of the late healer. However, he became much more connected with the people of the town, especially the boys around his age that had a predilection to get themselves hurt. He was even willing to accompany the boys once to drive out a group of anarchists. It was from the boys that he gained the nickname Twig, partially from his last name and partially from Terwilliger's fragility and skinniness, quite like a twig.

By 14, he had already taught another member of the town enough for them to take the role as a temporary healer. Twig took this opportunity to travel to an academy where they specialized in medicine. There he furthered his understanding of healing to an extreme degree. Alongside that, he also took a few years of business, for several reasons. First of all, it was because Twig knew he would need to know some level of business if he was going to run a hospital. The second reason was that he needed a backup profession in the case that medicine wouldn't be able to earn enough money to feed himself. The third was because Twig only forecasted for medicine based classes-- and so the school randomly put Twig into some semi-useless business classes (he was also shoved into a magic conditioning class, which Twig managed to cheat in by making his inherit magic much weaker and slowly putting more energy into things as the year went on).

It was only when he graduated that Twig realized that he had the qualifications necessary to take on a government position in the Hearts kingdom. In all honesty, Twig didn't think too much about it, but the thought of being a part of the government didn't really interest him. But later on, when he realized that he disliked the current Jack of Heart's economic decisions, he decided to challenge him.

The Jack of Hearts was a tall, burly man who relied on fire magic, a greatsword, and a dozen crossbows that he carried in a barrel. Twig knew that this battle wouldn't be as easy as fighting the anarchists, but he readied himself.

But to be frank, Twig wasn't prepared at all. The first crossbow bolt went shooting through Twig's chest. Fortunately, this missed any vital body parts, and Twig was able to pull out the bolt and heal himself. This went on for quite some while as the Jack of Hearts shot through half of his crossbows (Twig literally had to use some painkillers to soften the blow of each crossbow bolt) until Twig decided to send a gust of wind magic at the barrel full of crossbows, scattering it everywhere. Without any crossbows to fire, the Jack of Hearts charged forward with his sword in hand.

Twig honestly wasn't a very good combatant. His wind magic along with his staff was barely enough to stop each of the sword swings. Most of them managed to hit Twig, and it took all of his healing magic to heal those wounds and fight at full power.

It took a while, but Twig was able to wear down the Jack of Hearts to exhaustion. Then all it took was a well-aimed wind blade to injure the Jack of Hearts and another gust to knock him out.

Immediately, Twig's first concern was the wellbeing of the former Jack of Hearts, and he used whatever remaining healing magic he had to make sure the former Jack of Hearts was okay. And then he took the vacated government position -- and he partnered himself with the local doctor, naturally.

It had been less than a year since that event took place, so as a result, Twig was still particularly green in terms of experience, and he hadn't enacted many economic decisions for the Heart kingdom yet. He's still studying medicine since he believes that medicine is a field of study that has no end.

Abilities:
  • Clean Slate: Twig can only cast this on himself, but he can wipe away all "changes" to himself, such as curses, injuries, and illnesses. This has to be done as a ritual though, and takes at least a minute, making it unsuitable for the midst of battle, and can only be done once without some rest. Additionally, he can't stop fatal bleeding or revert surgery.
  • Healer's Magic: Twig's most powerful asset, being his ability to speed up and improve the body's self-healing process. This allows him to heal himself and others in the midst of battle. The healing is more effective the closer he is to the target. Unfortunately, this relies on his stamina, which slowly depletes itself as he heals people. This however will take at least ten minutes when he is actively battling, and much longer in a supportive environment (ex: He has a shit ton of apple cider). This additionally can't save Twig from well-aimed fatal hits, such as a stab to the heart. If Twig is disarmed, then this healing is severely impeded.
  • Wind Magic: Twig has an inherent affinity to wind magic. This magic is incredibly unrefined and unstable, as the line of wind magic the Terwilligers are born with require extensive training to use appropriately (and Twig didn't have any of that). He is still able to draw on a weaker, more controlled version of the magic that is on par with 7s. This magic could be manifested in any way Twig chooses, such as a shield, a blade, or a gust of wind. When Twig forsakes control for power, this magic becomes as powerful as a tiny cyclone and destroys everything in its path-- Twig himself included. Even if it doesn't kill Twig, the stress of creating a cyclone would cripple both Twig's wind and his healing magic.
Gear:
  • Pemulihan: A staff that is integral to Twig's magic, as it amplifies it incredibly. It is a gnarled wooden staff that has a deep blue spherical gem nestled in the wood at the top. The wood is solid enough to use as a combat staff
  • Doctor's Tools: This gigantic bag of tools is summonable through a neat little conjuration spell Twig learned while at the Medicine Academy. In it are all things a doctor might need, such as bandages, ointments, and small knives. And it also contains things a doctor definitely doesn't need, such as an abundance of rope. A lot of rope. Why the hell does a doctor need so much rope?
  • A pewter hip flask filled with apple cider for refreshment during battle
Relationships:
  • Leolin "Leo" Hravart III (Ace of Hearts) - Twig sees Leo in a very high light. To Twig, Leo is respectable, funny, and a paragon Ace. Royalty shouldn't be so formal, and they should have good relationships with others. Leo fulfills both of those ideas. (Following Marshall's rise as Ace of Spades, Twig will have a mental breakdown and vow to protect Leo)
  • Guineverre "Guin" Victoria y Blanca (Queen of Hearts) - Twig is oblivious to Guin's true nature, and feels a sort of kinship with her, as they're both first years as royals, though she would be senior to him. To Twig, Guin is like a good friend that he is willing to make sacrifices for.
  • Axton Ephraim (Former King of Hearts) - Twig looks up to Axton. He's powerful and successful in a way that Twig feels he wouldn't be able to match. This admiration would've manifested as intimidation, if not for Axton's blatant laziness, which honestly made him more relatable than terrifying. Twig is in denial of Axton's death.
  • Quillon Downs (Former Ace of Spades) - The meeting at Ariandel didn't give Twig a good first impression of Quillon. In Twig's eyes, Quillon seemed antagonistic, unreasonable, and unhelpful. The Battle of Parma helped to make Twig see him as a reliable partner in battle, however, Twig resents him for helping to make his powers go out of control.
  • Lazare "Lazarus" M. Viticus (Jack of Clubs) - Twig has a double sort of relationship with Lazarus. On one hand, Twig likes the positive, pacifistic vibes that Lazarus displayed at the meeting at Ariandel, on the other hand, Twig is more than a bit unsettled by his "other" personality when in combat. At least he's dependable.
  • Idun (Queen of Diamonds) - Twig appreciates her help at the Battle of Parma and for her protection, but other than that, Twig doesn't actually know her too well.
  • Astraea "Aster" Circe (10 of Hearts) - Twig doesn't know that he is a dude. In fact, I doubt he even knows Aster's name.
  • Jake "Silvern" Parkinson (7 of Jokers) - Jake is Twig's love interest. This love stems from their encounter in Jake's jail cell in the Diamond Kingdom. Twig finds Jake charming and extremely good looking. It's obvious to say that Twig has fallen for Jake's good looks, and his personality is also something that Twig feels is compatible with him. Twig doesn't know Jake's real name, so he simply nicknamed him Silvern, after his hair and eyes, which are of a silver hue, but also because Jake is "as good looking as silver"

Personality:
Lazare is shown as a very reserved individual, the timbre of his voice is remarked as a tone of someone who is very docile.
Although this may be seen sometimes through him being fatigued with his work or being depressed as a result of his present
servitude to his Kingdom's military and being put through situations that involved violent altercations with groups of criminals,
bandits, and the like. Conversation wise he's shown to be someone that's very friendly to speak to and quite approachable
whether it be an ordinary civilian, a royal, and even a person from another Kingdom, he doesn't hold any hesitation when
speaking to someone!

Still, he may be a bit reluctant to talk to anyone he considers to be deplorable such as a person that
has committed an unforgivable crime but even then there's a part of him that tries to forgive people even though their
hearts maybe blackened by evil. Overall, Jack of Clubs is someone who is always willing to lend a hand and show
compassion to anyone that needs it despite sometimes having to be forced into situations that may require
a different side of him to be revealed.

Jack of Clubs is definitely a timid creature amidst his peers, his readily intimidated presence often characterizes him as
significantly weak to those that have a steep level of confidence (Mostly everyone). On the contrary, even though his
outwardly demonstration is shown as very 'flowery', Lazare's unyielding efficiency in engaging an enemy is shown as
the direct opposite! Barbaric, Cruel, and Merciless. Those that generally undermine him as someone who is fragile
because of his daunted ways are often rudely awakened when contending against his ferocious wielding of
Blood magic.

Backstory:
- Birth of Lazare Viticus -
Twenty-five years ago there'd been a horrific occurrence in the Kingdom of Clubs, a harrowing tragedy that chilled the spins of many villagers that lived close to the infamous Deadwood Forest. It's said to be an old wives tale spread across citizens, guards, and nobles alike as it involved the upbringing of their Jack of Clubs, Lazare Vitictus. It all started with the marriage of two aristocrats that'd been born into the life of politics, their own parents actually being honorable members of formal meeting boards held by royalty, it was only appropriate for them to be inducted into such a role. Albeit, it was a position thoroughly scorned by that of the wife, unlike her husband who deeply enjoyed discussing political agendas and being apart of the public 'spotlight'. She believed that attending such meetings was a waste of precious time that could be spent with one another, living as a happily wed couple and enjoying the finer things in life instead of having debates over things she had little interest in, not to mention having a far different ideology made it so that her husband and his parents would often disagree with one another. Alas, the wife decided that her overbearing love for the one she married far triumphed that of her own principles, besides she was pregnant and abandoning her husband was certain to make her child grow up in a rough situation so she did what she believed would be the best decision for their soon to be child and conjoined houses by sucking up the differences they had, this of course made her partake in accepting and confirming laws, events, and mainly many other things that she did not believe in and as a result it wore her down when friends and concerned citizens had solely pointed her out as a reason to blame for controversial regulations. In return, misery had plagued the woman as she'd been 'riddled' with extraordinary guilt for the actions she'd committed and because of this she looked for means of an escape, she believed that defying the marriage and going back on her word would make her ostracized from the higher order and she would potentially be imprisoned by a few guards that might've been paid off by her husband's parents, nonetheless, sticking to such an unbearable lifestyle was excruciating to live through so she felt that departing herself from the Kingdom would be a way for her to properly leave without being arrested.

During a misty night, darkness blanketed by cold from the strong breeze of the gust-filled skies as she traveled through the cobblestone streets of her kingdom, her very heart was aching enough to match the frigid atmosphere around her as she was at her limit, she couldn't bear to withstand one more day of what she believed to be 'mental torture' in her eyes. The wife collapsed to the unforgiving stones that had bruised her knees, her cheeks beginning to stream with tears as she focused on her past until the moment of 'redemption' had came in the form of an elderly lady that had approached her and offered a hand to the woman in distress before picking her back up onto her feet and discussing her wellbeing. There was many people who she didn't trust, but oddly enough she felt inclined to tell this gentle old lady of her situation to which she couldn't help but feel relieved as the humble aged woman nodded in respect, understanding of what she was going through, to which she was immediately surprised when she was offered a note by the stranger, an invitation to an organization that would accept her for her beliefs and even give her a comfortable home for her to raise her children in. Obviously, she happily accepted such a proposal and shook the elderly lady's hand with appreciation, at long last fortune had smiled upon her for once! No more would she have to undergo such berating! She eagerly read the pamphlet only to discover a set of instructions that explained to her the best route she could take outside of the kingdom, however, she found it rather strange that she had to enter the Deadwood Forest, a bit intimidating concerning that it was a central spot for those wishing to practice the dark arts but at the time she thought nothing of it and willingly heeded to the old woman's advice after packing her things and heading out into the dead of night where she had been greeted by the stranger she had met. Thrilled that she decided to follow through, the elderly lady wasted no time in snatching ahold of her wrist, explaining to her that the girl would soon be absolved of her previous lifestyle and be given a new home where she would stay 'forever'.

Unsurprisingly this was too good to be true as by the time she'd entered a dim-lit cave her fate had been sealed, after a while of following melting candlesticks through a barely visible walkway she'd been introduced to four figures, all of which were around the same age of the elderly woman except they were standing around a ceremonial altar as they glanced at the woman, their eyes infested with a sinister yellow tinge that glowed menacingly. It was at this moment she'd tried to escape but was ensnared by the combined grasp of the ladies before being forced to the granite altar, a few wicked snickers filled the air when she was finally bound to the stone table. To her dismay they had spoken to her about who they really were, explaining themselves to be the Witches of Deadwood Forest, a small group of abominable magical creatures taking the appearance of elderly ladies who would guide unsuspecting prey into their lair to sacrifice them to their pagan deities, it was said to be an urban legend but unfortunately, they were all too real. Despite screaming as loud as she could her voice barely traveled enough distance to get anyone's attention, when it did she was already suffering a fate worse than death as the witches had torn into the pregnant noble's stomach with their diabolical magic which had soon ended her life after she had suffered from a significant amount of blood loss. Eventually, her captors had retrieved a child from her stomach, concealed in blood as it cried out in shock as the dark witches imbued their witchcraft into the child which had combined with the blood, reeking the air of a ungodly magic. By this time the deceased wife's husband had already discovered his wife's disappearance after reading the note left behind, guards were soon sent to Deadwood Forest where they came across the witches who had fought back but were ultimately killed in the battle.

After the exchange of magic and swinging 'arms' the surviving guards had come across the husband and wife's child, still alive but barely managing to cling onto life... Luckily it was brought to a nursery and was brought back to health, it was deemed as a miracle that it even survived! The Husband was saddened by his wife's death but relieved that their son Lazare had lived through the traumatic experience, Lazare to this very day has no idea of his birth.

(Witches of Deadwood Forest)

-Life of Lazare Viticus-
In due time after Lazare had barely survived his birth, he developed into your ordinary healthy child and lived out most of his childhood along with his father whom he claimed to be bit of an authoritarian parent as he had blamed the death of his wife on him although he didn't explain to him exactly what happened, in a way, he still did care for his own son even though he heavily disliked him. Throughout his interactions with his father, most of it was him being berated by his dad for not acting 'normal' and not being able to socialize normally with any of the other children that were in the Kingdom even though it wasn't his fault as during most of his lectures he would secrete blood from his pores, of course, this wasn't a ridiculous amount of blood but almost like beads of red sweat treading down his skin that would freak out some of the teachers as well as most of the students that attended the academy he had gone to at the time being. The first time it'd happened he was immediately rushed to the infirmary only to discover that it was an unorthodox form of magic known as 'Blood Magic', by the time it was revealed that he had such a controversial type of magic others had become far more separated from Lazare. Some teachers refused to lecture him as they believed it to be a form of Black Magic, evil witchcraft used in the most wicked of spells.

By the time he had reached his teenage years, he was able to properly control his secretion of blood, thus making him a bit more acceptable by society but still bullied by other children nonetheless for this use of taboo magic. Even with being harassed Lazare was still a rather accomplished student as told by some of his teachers, often they spoke of him passing his courses with flying colors especially when he'd reached his later years in the Academy and had undergone the study of Government and Economics to which he had excelled. However, these feats of academic success held no such pride in his father who believed Lazare to be nothing but a nuisance to him and to others which by the time he had graduated from the academy he'd been forced by his father to attend the Military which he tried to refuse but was outright demanded into joining or else he'd be removed from his home, having no choice but to bite his tongue, Lazare did what his father asked of him and signed up and was sent to the nearest training facility a few months afterwards. Having no experience with this type of magic, it was exceedingly difficult for instructors to teach him how to use it in a proficient manner. By far this made training a lot more difficult than it needed to be as most his exams would result in him using his prowess except failing miserably through several means, including splashing a target with blood instead of destroying it or trying to compete against someone only to have him running around the sparring field while trying to avoid getting blasted with magical spells. Lazare being pushed into the military field almost seemed like a lost cause and was even told that he was going to be removed all-together considering that it was going nowhere. Time after time he'd tried using his powers and failed, it'd became painstakingly evident that he was going to be sent home within a month and be forced out onto the streets by his over-demanding father. Lazare had almost given up all hope, he didn't understand why he had been born with such a useless power or why he had to live like such a humiliating outcast.

As the days counted down for his removal from the institution, Lazare's sense of feeling had plummeted but replaced instead with a sensation of focused wrath towards his father. Throughout the days of waiting to be processed, all he could envision was him laughing at how pathetic he was, at how he was nothing. One day he had reached his breaking point, it felt like he was about to burst in an explosion of emotions while sitting on his bunk and he nearly did until he recognized something significantly different about his magic, his secreted blood no longer had attained its usual liquid form and had actually pierced through his bunk-bed, the wall across from him, and even the floor beneath him. It came as a surprise to everyone around him, even his instructors had been baffled by this feat. This was when they decided to retrain him and shockingly he was able to fly through most of the training, he'd even gained further applications of his Blood Magic that allowed him to materialize into a bloodied mist or even create 'sentient' constructs made of out his or someone else's life force, by the time he had finally adapted to his magic all-together he had graduated from his training and was placed into service at the age of sixteen before reaching four years, soon transferring himself over after his service to a nearby college where he had begun majoring in the subject of Economics, that had lasted about five years until he'd earned his degree.

During his last year of college, he was offered an opportunity in Winter to compete in the Jacks tournament. At the time, Lazare had a strong stance against violence, mainly because of the few things that he had to do during his service. He would've outright denied the request if it weren't for the fact that the current Jack was trying to retire from his position and was practically giving his position to anyone that was deemed worthy, Lazare decided to go through with the tournament as he believed that achieving such a royal position would be a proper slap in the face for his father and it would assist in helping out the previous Jack, not only this but it would also improve his proficiency in Blood Magic, Either way if he won it would be a win/win situation! Throughout his participation in the tournament, he had stepped through the rankings, fighting challenger after challenger and gaining a new rank before actually stepping up to the Jack of Clubs himself. He felt mixed on going through with fighting him, not just because he was a very powerful magician but he didn't know how to feel fighting against a retired mage, nonetheless, upon defeating his rival he was happy to acknowledge that the previous Jack still had his pride despite being defeated, he'd even vigorously congratulated Lazare for winning the tournament.

After achieving his Economics degree and winning the Jack's tournament he was formally inaugurated as the Jack of Clubs.
To this present day, you can see Lazare Viticus furiously writing paperwork in his enclosed office where he mainly keeps
to proposing solutions to problems revolving around production, wealth, and the consumption of commodities

Haemokinesis - Manipulation of Blood (Jack of Club's Magic Type.)
Throughout his early adolescence, it was discovered that he had a form of magic deemed unorthodox by
those around him as those supervising over the child during his early education have reported that bulbs
of reddish liquid would sometimes secrete through patches of his skin. This of course had alarmed a majority
of students and faculty members at his academy resulting in him being transferred to a variety of medical professionals,
specifically, mages that dealt with restoration and types of healing magic.

This eventually led to them figuring out that Lazare was manifesting a considerably rare type of magical ability, Haemokinesis,
by definition, it's explained as a variation of life manipulation, one that could employ his/her own or other's blood to create, shape,
and or manipulate it to his/her own will. Haemokinesis or 'Blood Magic' as it's typically called is a category of magic that was
deemed as horrendous and ungodly to those ignorant or its full definition, because of this it has stemmed many instances of
him being harassed or treated unfairly by others.

- Blood Crystallization: (Slot 1)
If Lazare is in a reasonable radius of his or someone else's exposed vital fluid, his Blood Crystallization application allows
him to solidify functional blood cells just enough for them to become hardened which actually makes him capable of suspending
the free-flowing liquid within the atmosphere without any restraints, furthermore, this function can also act as a defensive tool or a
very hazardous weapon as the user can crystalize the substance making sections of the plasma solidify and become sharpened if he so desires to.
Upon having its properties changed, this magic-infused blood can effortlessly lacerate through someone's flesh as if it were heated butter, moreover
making it devastating enough to pierce through incredibly tough metals.

- Crimson Mist: (Slot 2)
While in Jack The Ripper form, Lazare is completely enveloped in the blood that has secreted from his body. Despite this just
changing his appearance, in general, this gives him a whole variety of different attributes that can be used when fighting against
an opponent, one of these unique functions involves being able to temporarily reconstruct his body into that of a crimson-hued mist.
In this condition, Lazare cannot physically attack anyone without exposing half of his physique making him vulnerable to an enemy's weapon
or magic, even though this can be problematic, this embodiment allows him to increase his speed by a large margin which makes traveling
across almost any terrain a simple breeze.

By far the most powerful of all his applications is his will to transform puddles of blood into horrid monstrosities.
Depending on the amount of blood there is it can create a numerous amount of creatures, within reason of course.
Or if Lazare wishes he can manifest the liquid into one whole creature entirely giving it a lot more power than
several abominations. Marionettes, as he calls them are immoral creatures that possess nothing but ill-will to
those attacking their creator, they're incapable of free-will as their only objective is to maim the enemy.

These foul creatures are one of the reasons why he has attained the nickname that he hates.

Handcrafted by Lazare himself, its sole purpose is meant to shield his face. Not only to hide
his identity from those he doesn't know but to cast away the shame that is pushed upon him
after committing an act he feels as unforgivable, in a way he believes that this mask is a
symbol of a different person, a being only birthed for violence and nothing else.

Neutral Good (Once he commits to killing.) - Believes in 'means to an end', in a way Lazare is a double-sided coin in a sense.
There's a side of him that wholeheartedly believes that taking someone's life is a very grave
and consequential action that goes against his morals but on the other hand there are situations
that require such measures in order to achieve tranquility or a noble goal.

This does not mean he will take part in aimlessly disposing of people, Lazare has no intentions
of killing civilians or those that do him and his family no sort of harm. Nonetheless, aggressive
and armed foes are people he will treat as threats to his affiliation.

Likes:
- Enjoys cordial conversations even if they're just small talk.
- Obviously his kingdom, he takes pride in seeing citizens pleased in their daily lives.
- Studying arcane arts is one of his many admirations as it unravels the mysteries of the unknown.

Extras:
- There's many limitations as well as counters to his blood infused magic, those that have control of metal or can dilute blood in any means
will have a significant advantage! Yet, this does not mean the battle with him will be easy as he'll still prove to be a formidable challenge.
- As someone majoring in the field of Economics his knowledge involving the subject is plentiful, Lazare's main specialty in this branch is
managing the supplies and routes of trading caravans.
- While in his Jack The Ripper appearance, Lazare will wear a distinct mask that'll conceal the entirety of his face. The sole purpose of
creating this mask was to hide his remorse and shame when dispatching of enemies, as someone who goes against violence, having to
throw away morality is a sin in his mind, one that must be hidden away with a mask.
- Lazare's blood magic is ordinarily confused with Dysidia because in harnesses his and other people's life substance into that of sorcery.
Despite this, it's actually a type of magic that revolves around the living as decayed corpses that are void of blood cannot be used by him.
Nonetheless, many people see it as dark magic because of its brutality.

Acquaintances of the Jack of Clubs vividly describe his subdued voice as rather 'feminine' due to his soothing pronunciation of words, Lazare's tone is
presented with timidity to most of those he comes across even if they're someone who he's met previously. His reclusive ways of communicating are
often depicted as someone who's very reserved in their demeanor, not to mention, he's fairly reluctant when it comes to holding a conversation with a person
that he hasn't even met before.

To sum it up, if you were to envision a hint of Lazare's voice think of it as a moderately-high pitched voice from that of a shy teenager (Not squeaky mind you.) with a soft utterance
that underlines the words that leave his lips. Thanks to being unable to control how he sounds in a discussion, the Jack of Clubs is sometimes a very easy target for anyone who is
willing to ridicule him.

Personality: Jack often seems irritated. Most sum his personality as a tsundere. He's often harsh, even to his friends and family. However, he doesn't mean he wants to deliberately harm them. He struggles with communicating his love for others as he feels vulnerable if he does talk about his feelings. While Jack may be grumpy most of the time, he can smile and laugh around those who he is close to. He's a big softy on the inside.

Jack is not much of an ambitious person. It doesn't like taking big risk if he doesn't know if his back up plan won't work. He gets ticked off if someone just runs blindly into danger.

Backstory:

Jack has been born into the royalty within his clan. He belonged to the long esteemed Alistair's, who were easily recognized by their symbol of a crescent moon tattooed on their shoulders. The Alistair family is known for their leadership in economics. They own a few banking companies as well as farms across the Diamond Kingdom. Most would assume that they are just greedy rich, however, they often do a big fundraiser every year that goes to creating infrastructure and helping the poor.


The Alistair’s have also held the Jack position within the Diamond Kingdom for years. Every heir within age are forced to participate in tournaments. Since birth, they are trained in magic and combat to ensure that they can take the title.The children also undergo a rigorous course of math and economics at a young age which make them makes them proficient at the subject.


Jack Alistair has gone through the Alistair training unwilling since he could talk. He wasn't fond of holding such title and rarely was able to play with people his own age. At the age of 10, he ran away and lived on his own with a strange vampire girl for two years. As a runaway, he saw the unfortunate side of the Diamond kingdom where many struggle to even make one copper coin. Not so long after, his family recapture him and gave him a good gave him the option of being locked up forever or becoming a Jack as he is destined to be. Alistair decided to continue his training in hopes of succeeding the previous Jacks’ at their poor attempts to fix the financial crisis in poor areas of the kingdom.

Water/Ice manipulation:
He can manipulate anything with water. It's easier to manipulate water if it's in it purest form but he can draw it out of objects that have a high concentration. Along with controlling the flow of water, he can freeze it.


Dimension Hop- Jack can hope through dimensional pockets or portals. They are used for fast traveling and maybe even sneaking behind your enemies for a surprise attack. Opening portals to longer distances is difficult and unpredictable. Often Jack ends up in the wrong place due to his miscalculations. Opening these portals often expend a lot of energy and mana. Opening 10 back to back would need a testing period for a couple of hours. Jack can pull people through these portals.


Bunny Form- He can turn into a regular old bunny. It's not much to this form. He's just a bunny with blue eyes. Jack can maintain this form as long as he likes. The transformation is instantaneous and he is able to talk. His clothes, unfortunately, don't often transform with him. Jack often uses this transformation for a quick escape or spying.


Usagi Powers: Northern Usagi's possess all superhuman abilities of other Usagis. However, unlike others, they are resilient against water and ice magic. Their bodies are often tipping toward icy cold, allowing them to enhance their ice magic powers. Superhuman abilities include super hearing, enhanced agility and jumping, and enhanced strength. They are also more resilient than the average human.

Atlas Alistair: Father of Jack. Leader of the Northern Usagi clan and Alistair family. He is a believer in tough love.
Maria Alistair: Mother of Jack. Co-Leader of the Northern Usagi clan and Alistair family. Maria is less strict than her husband and kinder.
Idun: Jack doesn't find her that irritating like most people are. He mentors Idun and nags her on the things tbat she can improve upon.

Appearance:
The first noticeable features of the ace of hearts are his deep, dark-brown eyes that glimmer with a passionate flame. They’re set in an unblemished face with tanned skin. His lips are almost always twisted in some sort of smile; he has a smile for every occasion except funerals and executions. Slightly shaggy dark-brown hair also curls at the ends, stopping at the nape of his neck. Overall, he stands at exactly 6’0.

Despite his warm native climate, he dons clothing covering his whole body, mostly colored red and white with black accents. His signature flowing coat and feathered hat make him easily identifiable in public.


Personality:
It seems impossible to wipe the smile off Leo’s face. While his demeanor seems carefree and he flirts with just about everyone, he does take his duties seriously, safeguarding the people from poor decisions made by the royalty. The burden of the people weighs heavily on him, so he shoulders it and does his best to be their white knight. On most days, he walks around in public, making merry with the common people in the capital, occasionally having beers with the men and tea with the ladies.

Leo refuses to undress unless he is bathing or sleeping. He fears what he might discover by an act as simple as walking around barefoot or handling an antique without gloves. He wishes he could live in blissful ignorance, but once he discovers something unsavory, it’s difficult for him to forget and simply mind his own business. It’s common for him to weep at funerals, since he knows most people in the capital by name, but can’t prevent death by natural causes.

Like his Diamonds counterpart, one thing incurs his wrath above all else: apathy. He is not one to hold a grudge, but failure to act when people’s livelihoods and lives are at stake is enough to provoke him. Aside from that, it’s not difficult to please him; he enjoys the little things. While he is well-learned, he feels his best decisions were based on instinct; he values intuition over logic.


Backstory:
The Hravart family holds the distinction of producing three aces of hearts in a row, with Leolin III being the latest. Back when his grandfather—Leolin I—first became an ace, he performed an ancient ritual at midday, the procedures pieced together from incomplete knowledge. The ancient, damaged scrolls had lost the part containing the most important clause: the ritual would only increase power at the time of day at which it was performed, waxing and waning accordingly. From that point forth, male heirs of the Hravart bloodline have been among both the weakest and the strongest of their ranks, depending on the hour.

The callous Leolin II had his own child—whom he named after himself and his father before him—shortly after usurping Leolin I. Life was hell for the young heir, who started learning swordsmanship and magic at an early age. Expectations were high for the boy being trained to be the next Ace of Hearts. His mother, a six, instilled in him a hearty sense of humor and a carefree attitude, reminding both generations the title of Ace was nobody’s birthright. She died of illness some time later, leaving the cold father and upset son to face each other.

By then, Leolin III was 16. During a fight that got physical, his clairsentient powers awoke and he learned of the atrocities his father had performed. Armed with this knowledge, he resolved to take his practice more seriously. Five years of heavy endurance training with his friend Guineverre left him with the stamina to fight for absurd periods of time without rest. He quickly rose in rank and mustered the nerve to challenge his father at age 21. He fought his way through the royalty, and then had the final dual scheduled for six o’clock. The duel was grueling and rather dull until 11pm. Both men’s powers were diminishing in this even match of strength. The cycle of trading blows was finally broken because the cocky father didn’t count on his son’s superior stamina, and so he was killed for making a mistake as simple as underestimating the competition. The killing blow was dedicated to the Blanca family.

Even before his victory, Leo had become rather popular among the populace, a folk hero of sorts. He collapsed shortly after the duel; his wounds were severe, his regenerative abilities almost completely exhausted. Twelve hours passed until his strength reached its peak again. He awoke to several representatives of the 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s gathered around his bed. They had placed a fine scimitar by his side, a symbol of their love, admiration, and high hopes for him. His work began immediately, and since then, he has not settled for anything but the best for them, urging economic growth and provisions for the poor.


Abilities:
  • Pyromancy - Leolin’s signature magic is his pyromancy. He has full control over fire and can ignite most flammable objects—including humans—with one look. Those are the basics, however; more powerful spells can heat metal or even glass beyond its melting point, ignite gunpowder, or create earth-shaking explosions. More gentle and precise applications include cauterizing wounds, branding flesh with his insignia, and welding metal. This ability’s strength waxes and wanes with the sun’s position in the sky, reaching 100% at midday, but only 25% at midnight. (For reference, his larger-scale fire spells at 100% strength produce heat akin to a high-yield thermobaric bomb detonation.)
  • Cannon Jump - A special pyromancy technique devised by Leo. He creates a sort of explosion at his own feet, which can launch him into the air. Due to its volatile nature (he is still crafting it), he uses the technique sparingly, and usually to traverse great distances or scale buildings. It has also destroyed several pairs of boots, hence why he doesn’t use this technique without special equipment.
  • Phoenix Renewal - “If you hit me, you’d better kill me.” These are Leo’s famous words, and for good reason. The magic permeating his body grants him superhuman heat resistance, meaning he can simply burn most toxins with little consequence. He can also regenerate when wounded, making for astounding comebacks at the brink of death. The only way to to permanently kill him is to destroy his heart or brain beyond repair (e.g. a shotgun blast).
  • Thermal vision - Leolin’s eyes can alter themselves to find people and objects by their heat signatures. In this state, his eyes glow a fiery red, and he can spot a human heat signature from a distance other mages are still trying to calculate.
  • Clairsentience - This power makes Leolin a ‘human lie detector’ of sorts, though it has some obvious drawbacks, in his opinion. By making bare-skin contact, he can learn more about a person, a place, or an object. It is for this reason that he keeps most of his skin covered. He can gather the most information about a person, such as their emotional state, intentions, opinions of him, and even past events. During the daytime, he even has a degree of precognition.


Gear:
  • Hot Poker - An enchanted rapier with a humorous name. It has a higher heat tolerance than mundane steel, so Leolin can safely heat the blade enough to sear clean through a foe.
  • Amé - an ornate scimitar Leolin carries along with his rapier. There is nothing remarkable about it, aside from the beautiful engravings. It was a gift from the people to commemorate his victory over his father, the previous Ace of Hearts. He cherishes this item above all others.
  • Boots of feather-falling - Enchanted footwear made to withstand the force of Leolin’s cannon jump technique. Aside from being uncannily durable, they also benefit from magic that slows his falls so he doesn’t hit the ground with a grotesque ‘splat’.
  • Book of grievances - a logbook of all the problems that haven’t been addressed by the royals.


Relationships:
  • Guineverre y Blanca, Queen of Hearts - a childhood friend and survivor of his father’s plots. She calls him ‘Lion’ frequently. They trained together to duel his father after he learned of the atrocities committed against her family. Although Leo bested her in a duel for the right to challenge the former Ace, he never felt the two were in any sort of competition. She currently owns a former vacation home of the Hravart family. While many people think Leo and Guin should marry, he sees her more as a sister figure.
  • Axton Ephraim, King of Hearts - Leo sees Axton’s usual laziness and constant tardiness as a major flaw. The saving grace is that the king is extremely efficient. That still doesn’t make him exempt from showing up to dinner on-time...
  • Zephyr Terwilliger, Jack of Hearts - Twig would easily be described as Leo’s favorite royal. The two converse often and occasionally have tea. They also have plans to establish new international trade routes. Leo frequently applauds Twig’s kind nature, sometimes citing him as a model citizen.
  • William Rundell Haus Code, Ace of Diamonds - William has previously crushed Leo’s hands for several reasons: once because he patted William’s head and referred to him as a smol, and once over a flirting incident. Leo loves and hates him at the same time.


Other:
Romance is extremely difficult for him; popular as he may be among both sexes, most lovers find it creepy that he can practically tell someone’s life story by touching them.

Personality: William is a happy person. He is a motivational speaker, a perfectionist, brave, perseverent. When nhe gets pissed he likes to isolate himself and cool off

Backstory:
William was born in a family of 10. He one of the youngest out of his 3 brothers and 2 sisters. As for his life well it wasn't all that easy for him. Being the youngest and seen as the weakest he was kinda cast aside by his family and wasn't really looked after. After William realised what is happening in his life at the age of 10 he decided that it is not worth his time. So he decied to run around his kingdom and make relations. He at first was not succesfull at making friends at first and he got fun of at first but after many tries and persuasion he managed to make a group of 4 friends. His group was made of 3 pretty strong guys and a girl with which he went doing vigilante work. His realation with the 3 guys was master puppet- like becasue his friends were not all that smar yet they were strong and true friends.
His most memorable moment of doing justice on the streets was when he stopped a gang of thieves which was running rampant. This took many tries because these guys were very smart and quick. They were always robbing when nobody was on guard. These thieves also managed to corrupt the guards. Anyways his last, and victoryous, encounter was when he managed to stop them himself.

Personality: Joker seems to take his role as a Jester more, seriously than others. Joker tends to create drama with a certain flair for the overtly dramatic, essentially making a game out of his traps/operations. Though when interacting with him while he's not engaged with his role, Joker seems to be a rather friendly guy. While michevious in his nature, Joker likes to make jokes or at least pranks on others when he has free time.

Illusion Magic: Joker seems to have an affinity with Illusion, by playing tricks on the mind, ears, and eyes, Joker can create things that seems to be there but isn't. In many case Joker uses this to create multiple versions of himself in combat, disguise his appearance and voice when moving about, and making distractions against those in his way.

Magical Enhancements: Joker uses magic to enhance his physique even further than it already is. Examples would be making himself faster, stronger, sturdier, etc...

Black Lightning Magic: Joker is able to summon powerful Lightning that when looked at, is Black in nature. This magic is powerful as it has the capability of destroying a large building with one strike. Joker can also summon it to surge within his blades, that every time he strikes his opponents, that feel that electrifying shock.

Gear:
Thunder and Lightning: Twin swords that are unbreakable. They also have an ability of shooting a Lightning cage when their command word is spoken.

Mask of Projection: Joker can project his physical appearance to anyone or any location he desires, this projection is not the real Joker as it is more like a hologram but he can see, hear, and project his voice to everyone around him. This is usually used to explain some trap fools have entered, or to explain a puzzle that one must solve in order to stop whatever plan he has in motion.

Hand Cannon: While this large pistol packs quite a punch, it is also slow to fire because of its recoil.

A collection of Knives, Bombs, Grenades, and traps: These are all things Joker utilizes in a battle, so if you think he'll play fair without his gadgets, you're wrong.

Relationships:
Joker Grunts: It would make sense to have a Boss/employee relationship with his own subordinates, besides they can truly be loveable fools.

Jake Parkinson: A young man Joker took under his wing. He was the first to truly understand Joker's ideas and the corrupt and tyrranical nature of the rank system. He is almost akin to a son to Joker, and is the cofounder of the Jokers.

Title: He uses the pen name "M. J." for his books.

Sex: Male

Personality: Maxwell was raised to be an upstanding gentleman, which has gone very well. Maxwell treats others with the respect he believes they deserve. He always uses proper mannerisms in his sentences to show respect to others unless they asked him not to. He also very studiest, commonly found reading or buying books for inspiration for his next book or just for own enjoyment. Though as much as he prefers to have a calm life with his books and his writing there is the course the problem that many people like him deal with, discrimination for not being human. While Maxwell can keep his anger in check for the most part for many things, picking on others for not being purely human is a sure fire way to get Maxwell to mad. He's won't go into an outright rage but he will get involved physically. And while he acts like a gentleman, his fighting style is more brutish like his orc ancestors.

Backstory: Thirty-four years ago a researcher named Charles Jacob was out in the woods researching the fauna. This is when Charles stumbled on what left of a small encampment of orcs. It seemed like the kingdom's forces came in stopped them before they could cause any trouble. Exploring the camp Charles began to hearing crying coming from a tent. The source of the crying was a young orc baby... next to the body of its mother. Feeling pity for the child Charles adopted the orc, and even named him after his father.

Charles took the newly named Maxwell home, to the surprise of the staff of Charles's manor. Even with the looks, he got from others Charles went about raising Maxwell like he was his own son. This, of course, meant Maxwell was taught from a young age to be gentleman and scholar, with some combat training mixed in to allow him means to protect himself from those who would mean him harm for being none human. While it was somewhat difficult at first to teach an orc child to be a gentleman, he did take fast to combat training early on. Interesting though is as he got older, Maxwell began preferring his studies of books to his studies of the sword, though he still enjoyed it.

Once he was at acceptable age Charles had Maxwell go to off to university to get a higher education then what he could provide at home. Maxwell went to the university for economics, where excelled in his studies. Though while he learned a great deal there, there was still many hiccups as many people tried to pick fights with Maxwell and subtle way of showing disapproval of him being an orc. Happily though after showing his magic and combat skills in one fight, people picking a fight with stopped quickly and it was subtle discrimination happen to him. After his time at the university Maxwell went home to his aging father and helped him do his research and began picking up a hobby that has become his passion and his main source of income, writing. Maxwell took to pen happily, writing a variety of books and novels. Finally, in the present Maxwell live mainly calm life at his father manor where he writes his novels and helps with his father researcher from time to time.

Grow- Maxwell can increase his size as well as other people and things. To increase other people and things sizes (up to 10x it regular size) he has to touch them to do so. Also the grow only last for limited amount time depending on how much bigger the object became... or when Maxwell decided to have to go back to normal which he can from any distance.

Shrink- Same as growing but instead of growing objects and people, it instead shrinks them (down to 1/10 it regular size). He still has to touch others to do so and last a limited amount of time depending on how much it shrunk or if Maxwell decided to make it go back to normal.

Electric generator- Maxwell learned more recently to use his magic to generate electricity. He not well practiced in this form of magic yet so he mainly can use for time being to electrify his blade or his body to shock his opponents. It also gives him some resistance to electrical attacks.

Winged Boots- Boots that just Maxwell hover or fly a short distance.

Dryad Crystal Amulet- This magic item let Maxwell using shrinking and growing magic on plants from a distance. It also lets Maxwell control plants to a minor degree, enough to entangle others with them.

When it comes to combat, Emia combines armor with furs and leather, making her outfit as easy to move in as possible, while still having the proper protections needed. Her armor is a combination of silver armor and black cloth, leather, and furs, once again keeping most of her skin concealed from view. She wears silver decorations in her hair and on her head, a fur cloak to keep her warm, and a belt for her weapons and many other sheaths are hidden all over her person to conceal more weapons.

For her royal duties or conferences, the Queen of Spades wears an elegant black gown with a spade cutout in the back, the fabrics of the dress cascading down to the ground with feathers, scales, or a combination of the two woven into the materials. She wears the headdress in the character photograph to conceal her ears and protect them from loud noises and extreme temperatures, and the rest of her outfit conceals her skin appropriately. She wears a red cloak to cover her back from view, and the dress itself has long sleeves that she wears gloves with to cover her hands.

When she is trying to be inconspicuous and stay under the radar, Emia dons "commoner clothes" consisting of a breathable, long, cotton dress that goes down to her feet and has long sleeves, with a corset over it, gloves on her hands, and a cloak to conceal any other revealing portions of her outfit. However, since her face is rather easy to recognize, as well as her beauty, the outfit doesn't do her much good in regard to hiding in plain sight.

Cold, calculating, and showing no mercy is the facade that is shown to everyone on a regular basis. Emia keeps herself hidden away for a multitude of reasons, making her appear apathetic, distant, and somewhat sociopathic to those she first encounters. Those who have been around her longer would notice snippets of emotion here and there, but very little. Only people who grow close to her witness more than a microexpression of anger or sadness. She does not allow emotions to influence her duties as a Queen, maintaining a just and honorable position when doing her job. Mortemiah spent the majority of her life fighting. Fighting to stay alive as a child, when her parents abandoned her in a hamlet of a town and went their separate ways. Clinging to life, as her orphan status caused her to grow up with no food, water, or shelter, making her steal to survive just as anyone else would, which of course led to multiple arrests. Teaching her the hard way that nothing in existence is fair, after being attacked and beaten within an inch of her life by other thieves and hooligans, only regaining consciousness after days of torture and pain for their sadistic pleasures. Teaching her that no one can be there to help you if you have nothing to offer, reminding her that the world is a horrible place for those of low status...

All of her past experiences made her open her eyes to the world around her and witness the ugliness that was ever-present, the things that she wished to change. It was during the Argossian Crusades that she endured that history, fighting to help the other Suits push back the enemy's advances and divide their numbers when she finally became strong enough to join the fight. It was a war unlike any other, with weapons that were new to the Four Suits, causing wounds of all kinds and bringing back horrible memories when mentioned in the present. She traveled up the ranks of numbers for the Spades before and during the war, becoming stronger and more capable of providing the kind of changes she wished to see, especially after the damage done by the Argossians.

Soon Emia became known as the Hidden Killer, her attacks recognized by her foes shortly before their deaths and her apparel recognized since she does not show any part of her body aside from her eyes and fingertips in order to cover her fresh scars and wounds. She became a hired assassin that would only kill wrongdoers (think Dexter), gaining coin and popularity through her jobs (although there are only a few people know much about since she's meant to be silent and hidden as an assassin). Eventually, as a 10 of Spades, she challenged one of the previous Queens of Spades, successfully overcoming her and gaining the new title. Emia served as Queen of the Spades for a couple of decades before a letter from her home town arrived one day and made her pause in her queenly duties - it was from a little girl named Rebia who admired Emia and was talking about how everything was going wrong similarly to how Emia's childhood turned out. Choosing to go and help rebuild the town both literally and figuratively, Emia resigned her role to a woman named Lyvia, who would be the Queen for the next several years. After Emia finished with her home town, she returned to Baefel and took up a student to tutor solely because she saw herself in him, in regard to his behavior, aspirations, etc. This student, now famously the Ace of Spades, was tutored by Emia for a total of ten years, up until she convinced him to become the Ace of Spades. Two years after his success, Queen Lyvia resigned out of embarrassment and shame, giving Emia the role once more.

Emia is unsure as to how many years she has been Queen total, but over the course of her time as royalty she has made a big deal to be fair and just to all within the kingdom, keeping her emotions hidden behind a strong fortress so that her mentality did not affect her role. She has been fought many times by those attempting to be Queen but has never successfully been usurped. Until she is, she will continue to help protect the Spades country and ensure their safety from the Argossians.

Lillith is fun, fresh, and nice to be around. Skipping around, she doesn't get upset at many things unless they cause her a bother. This bothering thing would get utterly destroyed, of course, since Lillith could never deal with something so annoying. On a regular day, Lillith takes walks around whatever city she is at and whistles to any tune she remembers from her past and from her people.

Backstory:
Growing up in Yanqua, Lillith and her family were seen as a very large minority. As the only 3 bird demi-humans, if one would call such fallen ones as demi-humans still, in the town Lillith faced a lot of prejudice against her. Later in the years, with a cheerful attitude towards her life and the people around her, as she was quite dense during this time, she eventually learned about her crush, at the time, in a class about other leaders in different sections of their continent. There she saw it, the man of her, at the time, dreams. Axton Ephraim. While trying to pursue this, her parents sternly told her about all of the mean things he did to their kind. Disappointed, she went to her room to reflect and go to bed for the day. Later that night, unable to sleep, Lillith listened around her and heard her parents discussing this obsession as they called it. Lillith found out they lied to her, fearing what would happen if the officials of the town found out. Loosing all trust in them, she enlisted into the military school of the Spades. In military school, Lillith was on the top of her classes. The top student eventually became a soldier, where she single single handedly beat every training simulation she ran in. Being promoted to higher ranks, Lillith realized in innate ability to perform large scale military operations, in both the front and the back sided of the battle. Reaching her, at the time, highest rank Lillith went to the capital to become a head officer in strategy to assist her people. Nowadays, between working and doing other needed things daily, Lillith works to finally meet the man who caught her eye and find out if what he did was true. Or if her parents were just trash of the earth, unable to help Lillith in the long run.

As a Bird demi-human, she is able to confirm into a bird of whatever color her wings are. Lillith prefers not to do this, as it is very disorienting and uncomfortable as the mass and thought are different between humans and birds.

Aeg is Lillith's bow that she got as a birthday present. Through long hours of practice, and assistance using the air, it has been known for missing shots rarely. It is able to be called in a verse, and go away in a similar verse, which lets Lillith carry around everywhere she goes in theory.

Dae is a present Lillith got from Jake before he disappeared. Lillith treasures it, keeping it safe and away from harm and hardly uses it. The scythe is capable of merging with the dark, which lets Lillith keep it with her at all times.

Relationships:
Jake Parkinson- A childhood friend, in the town of Yanqua. Although a good friend at the time, he suddenly disappeared which made Lillith upset at the time as she was a wee child.
Spade Royals- Lillith holds an extreme amount of respect to anyone above her, especially the royals.
Axton Ephraim- A crush of Lillian's, however she will put it behind her for her loyalty to her royals.
Other:
The bird demi-human race is a one that tries to stay low from humans. The 'Fallen Birds' are a branch of them, known for betraying their kind in some way. Their wings change color based on their past, white being pure, black being darken in some way, and other colors based on major events that impacted their lives. The Bird demi-humans are known for their wings, aerial combat with them, and their natural peak conditions that ripen fully at age 10 and stay that way until death.

Thruma is actually quite the nice person, she's usually calm and happy, and a little fun to be around, she usually reads and at times can be found in in her room or personal tech investigation room, working on her fathers personal projects. She loves to sing as well, but she doesn't have that much time to do so, plus she think she sucks... It's not easy to tick her off, you'd have to be fighting her to actually see her anger show, and when it does you better hope you got the will to sit there and accept her fury, she will dig deep and use anything she's got to get back at the person she is mad at..and that's out of a battle. In battle, she isn't the verbal type, and prefers to use her anger to fuel her adrenaline that helps with her powers. When she's in a depressing mood, she can again be found in her rooms, working on stuff, but will try and be away from people, and turn away anyone who wishes to speak with her, she will be silent when spoken to, and may only have a few words to say when she needs to speak. Though when she's doing 'errands', her personality is dark and at times sadistic.

Backstory:
Thruma's family is made up of mostly simple folk. Her father was an inventor and tinkerer, he tried to bring black powder weapons into reality, he would always fail to make the weapon work! His plans were correct but it was just what he had that would end up failing, the material wasn't right.. Her mother was a level 7 at the time she met him, she had the ability to replicate anything, so long as she knew how the item was made... he had been working in a shop near the palace, she had been out to visit a blacksmith when she heard his shop make a very loud bang.. She would enter and see him holding a musket that had a peeled barrel... They would get to speaking, and she would suggest steel.. Everything changed after that.. Her mother would become a level 8, then a level 9 before retiring, as she would get to know the man, and would later marry him, and bare a child. Thruma.. Thruma would later show signs of having her mothers powers and as she got older, her mom-who was the kings ex guard- pulled some strings and, would later be taken into the ranks of a 'errand' girl for the king and queen at 18. The errands were very worth it and highly appreciated when done.

Jake doesn't socialize often enough to have a set personality. He acts on a whim, both emotionally and offensively. If his emotions don't take over, he acts for the betterment of his cause only after his own safety. Jake often goes out to the city streets, with no mask on obviously, and goes to different events that are happening in his area. Very few things also get under his skin, however the ones that do are people halfassing things, people who are all talk and no bite, and weak people.

Backstory:
Growing up, Lillith was already '6' when Jake was born. As he grew older, he realized that she didn't age like other children but saw it as an unique factor and wanted to learn more about her culture. Of course receiving some hate about it, and wishing to keep their family's image, Jake's father begged the town mayor to put him into the guard as a favor. As the mayor was distant family friends, as it was a town with a small human population, he accepted the request as long as he was taught how to fight. Jake saw his father train in the backyard, mesmerized in the dedication his father had, unknown why to Jake, and wished he could do similarly with his father.
Fast-forward a few years, and primary learning was over for both Lillith and Jake. Something happened in Lillith's life, which made Jake want to help her as a dashing gentleman he was. Looking around for some kind of help to get her eye and make her happy again, some man came up to Jake and told him a simple statement. "Ask her out. If she says no, she isn't meant to be with you." Jake took this suggestion to heart, and went up to her. Asking if she wanted to be with her forever, Lillith straight up rejected him as he was a 'weakling' and shouldn't be allowed to exist with her. Little did he know, Lillith was just told about that whole thing and was in a bad mood. Running back to the man, Jake told him everything. The man in turn said "Weakling huh? Guess they want you to think Power and Strength is the only way to rise. They want you to believe Rank means everything. Well I say screw that. We'll make our way on our terms, I believe in a society free from these shackles of status and power. A weakling is only as weak as their cunning. Come with me kid, and i can show you some Jokes to really stir up the crowd.", which Jake agreed to. Years after, Jake and the man, who was actually Joker, formed the Jokers together.

Tous is a Pole-arm that Jake uses as his main weapon. It is capable of changing size based on what rune is said, which was enchanted by a woman who gave this to his family generations ago. Saying the name of it, 'Tous', returns it to a size of a normal pole-arm. 'Sous' makes it smaller, into a more sword sized of a weapon but the same shape. "Wous" does something similar, but the size of a small knife. Jake keeps it in Wous normally, to perverse space on his persons.
The mask Jake uses is something he keeps dearly, as it was given to him by his first boyfriend. Sensitive about the topic, no one knows the story behind it. Rumor about it, which is true, is that it has a resistance against illusions and in which they shimmer.

Relationships:
Joker- Jake sees his boss as an almost god, as Jake was introduced to the truth through him. Although not always being as extreme as Joker, Jake will stick around and continue to pursue the truth with him.
Lillith- A childhood friend, one he grew up with for the entirety of his childhood. Until the incident happened, Jake was close to her. Jake would still be close, however, if she were to have changed from before.
Twig- A blooming love interest after meeting at both Parma and the jail cell Jake was held at thereafter.

Astraea is a child of the night, raised in the fissures of comfort and need and shaped by the dwindling light of the stars. He has seen, tasted and committed more than most and the extent of his experience has settled in the crevices of countless scars and the corners of a fraudulent smile.
He lures you in like a cigarette, his affection burning at the very tip of it. With his heart in the smoke, he'll let you believe you can catch it in the next inhale while growing further away with each exhale. Then, amidst ashes and dissipating gray, he'll have disappeared; his existence only known in the poisonous remains in your lungs and the unresolved yearnings of your heart.

Backstory:
Born and raised in the hardships of the slums, Aster retains few memories from his very early years other than the ones which have clung to him in the form of scars. That which he does remember are merely displaced fragments, phasing in and out of context. Upon one of those unmemorable days, however, he happened to be found stumbling over the stairsteps of a brothel. Beaten black and blue, clothes hanging in strips over gaunt shoulders and the protruding bones of a malnourished frame, he was taken in and cared for by the residents of the brothel; eventually coming to live there himself.

Now, one could argue about the suitability of a brothel being the home of a child but for Aster, who had nowhere else to go, arguing wasn't a choice. Contrary to one's beliefs, his residency at the brothel proved to be a more positive experience than his previous life on the streets. The prostitutes, who had taken in him in, became his sisters bound in trials and it was there, under the roof of everything fake, that he experienced love for the first time. Not the kind of love you might be imagining now but that one of reading fairytales in the early hours of daybreak, golden and fiery, and lively breakfasts of strawberries, sugar, and milk on a sunlit porch in the middle of the summer heat. The love in the gentle lies of "don't worry" and "it'll be alright" and trembling smiles in the midst of bitter tears. Of wild irises blooming upon fair skin and the blush of roses grazing dainty necks in long finger strokes.

There, in the seemingly endless nights of broken bodies entangling in cries under sheets and secrets seeping through the seams of squeaking bed frames, he made a family. Him, a symbolism for their lost innocence and them, the last pillars of his shattered hope.

Requires full focus and the smallest distraction can cause it to fail. Very draining when used repeatedly and excessive use can cause the particles of his body to fall apart and split open wounds.

By processing the magic inhibiting his body he can create and emit pheromones which work as an aphrodisiac. The victim will upon inhaling the "whatever" scented glitter dust, experience a heightening of the senses and become temporarily infatuated with Aster. While under the influence of the aphrodisiac Aster can by using his thoughts, subject the victim to hallucinations and illusions.

A chance meeting which developed into several more or less planned ones. Built upon physical temptations and the uncertainty in the unsaid it is a rocky relationship, to say the least, which Aster steers over in ruthless selfishness. For some reason, however, the Ace won't let him be and he always ends up in his arms at the end of the day.

Ironically, Astraea hates the 'stench' of smoke to the point of not wanting to be in the same room as someone who smells of it.
Has a special liking for strawberries and could probably live on them.

Thierry Cyrille Bonheur

Personality:
T. C. Bonheur has been known to be a gentleman. He has decent manners. When eating, he makes sure nothing gets onto him. He likes to look in style and be flamboyant. He does have some criticism of many things, but he likes to keep those things to himself. Thierry doesn't like making people feel bad. Despite keeping criticism of others to himself, he will usually be critical of his own works. He has a strive to make great pieces of music, even if what he makes may not be the best.

Backstory:
Before going into the actual life of Thierry it's rather important to know his father and mother, Edwige and Amandine. Edwige spent most of his life as a Rank 5 and as a newspaper editor. Edwige opposed the ranking system. He wouldn't directly go against the King, Queen, Ace, or the system, as that would be a one way quick ticket to pain. Instead, he selected stories showing any problems with them to appear in the newspaper.

Thierry’s mother was Amandine, an economic professor at rank 8. While not in favour of her husband’s radical views, she demanded a reform of society. She had a dream of becoming a Jack and enacting widespread change. Amandine tried here best to train and develop skills and climb up the ranks, but she was never able to get above the rank of 8.

Thierry was born to this newspaper editor and this professor. His family has had an adequate living standard, being able to afford new appliances and having a car to travel around in. Two younger sisters named Émilie and Mélody were Thierry's only siblings. His family took to living in a city. Amandine did her best to train Thierry her skills. The boy was able to show more skills than her by his adult years. His general education was at public schools within his city. The boy did well and was able to befriend various people. The piano became a new pastime for Thierry. His parents were able to get him into piano lessons in his early years. By the time of his graduation, he was performing in school concerts for a while.

When it came time to go to a university, his parents expected him to study either law or economics. Thierry actually decided to go into music. Thierry found a passion with playing the piano and composing music. His parents were initially unfavouring of his choice, as they only saw his music skills as a hobby or extra talent, but they soon accepted his choice. He took courses on music theory and composition when possible. He attempted to make money as a beginning pianist, though initially it was a rather poor source of money. Once the university held a music competition, a good amount of renown was achieved, though Thierry did not win the contest, as he played the first piano concerto he composed. He soon started to play at certain events and compose some more music work.

Out of univerisity, Thierry started to work in theatre, composing music for new operas or conducting bands and orchestras. He made his own symphony and got mixed to decent praise on it. It led to a great change in his career. He has now performed his on concertos, operas, and other work in several places all over the four kingdoms. Thierry has been working on his second symphony for a while and will hopefully have it out soon.

-Physical Channeling: Thierry can channel magic to enhance physical attributes. A punch can be enhanced to go crack and shatter bricks. A jump can be enhanced to allow for more height. Running can be enhanced to allow for greater speed or endurance. He however can only enhance one thing at a time.
-Greater Reaction time: Without the need for physical channeling. Thierry is able to react about a second faster than most people.
-Wind bending: Thierry has the ability to move air around with the power of magic. He can affect the air within a couple dozen meters of him. He can't directly move objects in the air such as a leaf or a bird, the wind does that. How great can he impact the wind? He can make a slight breeze of a fan into a stream at the wind speed of a Category 1 Hurricane (or whatever equivalent is used in the world's hurricane scales).

Summoning: Thierry can summon an animal to his location, this is applicable to one animal: Lambert. Objects on the animal at the time of summoning can also be brought along, but only if they are small and don't stick much out of the shape of the animal. If the summoned animal was on a person's lap and had a collar on, the collar would be brought along, but not the person. Summoning is one way, so what is summoned can't be magically sent back.

Lambert the Calico:
-With some magical energy from Thierry, Lambert can become quite strong. His claws could cut with the strength of a falchion and could dig into concrete. He could outpace the quickest dogs.
-Lambert can understand human languages. When given a small amount of power from Thierry, he can talk. He can type on a typewriter, and write with a claw acting as a pen (which would need ink).
-The Calico also has great tracking and detection abilities. As a cat, he has better sight, hearing, and smell compared to a regular person. With magical energy from Thierry, he can have better senses than many more animals.

Gear:
Thierry has his journal of ideas. This contains various plans he has for future symphonies or operas.
The closest thing he has to a weapon on him at all times is his cane. He can walk fine, it's rather more for fashion. The cane is a hardened staff with a metal handle. A good wack can put a dent into an automobile. Its staff is sturdy enough to block a swing of a basic sword.

Lambert was just a week-old kitten when Edwige adopted him. Thierry was 22 when Lambert was adopted. Thierry's mother wanted him to learn more magical skills, as he was showing to be more powerful than her and had learnt her skills. He wanted to learn some magical skill regarding animals.

Some lessons on applying magic to animals were done over a few months, though neither Lambert nor living animals were used for safety reasons. After the lessons, however, Thierry decided to apply some of what he learnt to the cat, starting with the summoning. Later Lambert was given the ability to speak, and after several months of him finally being able to comprehensively complain to Thierry and Thierry realizing he has to treat Lambert more like a person, they've started to get along.

As neither of his parents would approve of treating something that could talk as a pet, their relationship became more mutual. Thierry usually gives Lambert the ability to speak when he's present, and he has learnt to give him some magical abilities. Lambert now follows Thierry on his travels wherever he goes.
