Eliana McKenzie

Eli kissed her back and wrapped her arms around Rose's neck until she broke the kiss at Joseph's call. She was a shade of red at the kiss, but was honestly not ashamed. Embarrassed, but she liked Rose. A LOT. When she got over to her horse, she rubbed his face and whispered a few words in the horse's ear. The horse started glowing a faint white, then she mounted. She had to calm her mind from the rampant thoughts of Rose, most pure but some impure, and those are what caused her excessive blushing. She rode her horse close to Rose's horse

"And good luck to you Werewolf. If there are hunters you run into give em hell for me." Cross walked into the Carriage waiting for Eliana and Rose. "So Joseph what's our next plan of action. I have to give this to Ari Waesmor. But at the end of the day your job comes first. I am not thrilled to meet the guy again. We did not part on the best terms, not enemies but... Just not on the best terms. It'll be awkward I bet. Uh sorry, what is the plan?"

"The job still stands. Get Eliana's stuff back then get back to Norbury and figure out what's going on there." Joseph said. He really wondered about Cross's words. "This Ari Waesmor. His name, along with the rest of a Ravinian Crusaders popped up at the Knight's Table quite a lot. From what I've heard, he doesn't believe in bad terms. He kills those who are on bad terms with him. What were these terms?" Ari was a ruthless killer to say the least. Merciless, who spoke in blood rather than words. While he gave up assassinations, he did still kill on behalf of guards and still killed when threatened. Someone as high a stature as Ari inherently had a lot of enemies, even BEFORE the past bounties added up. While he got Royal Pardons all around for his work, that didn't really matter in the shadier side of things.

Silas O'Vera
"Investigating, eh?" Silas started stalking forward, sword drawn and ready to cut her down for being a spy. He could smell her fear, but every spy got scared upon being caught before it was time. "I can't have your higher-ups knowing our positions and layout." His fur was bristling and his eyes were fluctuating between red and the natural blue color, but his tail swished calmly behind him.

"Catecholamines............Cortisol." Maverick said, walking forward and getting close enough to sniff her clothing. Maverick came out when she heard the howl. She could smell the hormone from afar, but she'd get a better judgement from being as close to her as possible. "Flight.......Fear........While the Catecholamine level is high, it's not a spike, meaning that she's not lying. Or a threat," She said. Catecholamine was a group of hormones associated with stress. This girl's was high.

Silas looked at her. Pitiful and probably having been raised in a pretty sheltered home. Twas the only explanation Silas could really think up and actually believe. "Consider your life spared. I doubt you're with that party, but go. Light speed." Silas turned around. When he turned back around, she'd be struck down if she were still there.

Tobias Cabral

Toby kept walking. "Your torch has been throwing off your situational awareness. It's unnaturally cold in here.......which is what happens when either Ice creatures or Spirits are around." Raven's flame most likely heated him up enough for him to believe that it was just the natural declination of the temperature due to the lack of sunlight, but Toby didn't since he has his Ethereal Arrow, which didn't give off heat. "Something bigger probably lies ahead." The cave was COLD. It was 75 degrees outside. It would be cooler by maybe 10-20 degrees, not 30-40 degrees cooler like it currently was. It simply wasn't natural.

He stopped and kneeled, getting into a crouched aiming position. He notched his bow and shot straight ahead. It flew down the narrow corridor and then struck a rock at the very end, still glowing. They did hear a faint scream though, which was crazy considering that the arrow, a glowing green circle at its current resting position, wasn't all that far away.

Lair Aelnor
Location: Ravinia, city of Redvale
Jailhouse -> Jailhouse (Front Yard / Entrance)

As Oahu asks him for his weapons, Lair responds with a simple "Sure thing" as he swiftly hands them from his satchel. The evidence room had become packed, though that didn't stop anyone from doing what they were doing. There was tense concentration as everyone stocked up for their escape— while that was happening, Lair couldn't help but eye Foster's gear, just now remembering that he wasn't familiar with the man's combative skills... or at least, experienced it firsthand as he did with Oahu, Nyrea, and even Odette to some extent. He was curious regarding just how good of a shot he was, as even Lair struggled a bit with his bow (which he now strapped over his back, alongside his quiver). Maybe he could ask him for pointers later, if they managed to escape.

Lair nods at Valac's explanation about the blood. Truthfully his question was a bit on the rhetorical side, and didn't expect an honest response from anyone, though it was a positive gesture, the Ravenfolk thought, that their rodent accomplice was being compassionate by passing on knowledge. It was strangely curious how the rat knew so much about so many things... But then his thoughts are immediately interrupted upon hearing Valac's pair of grim news. His initial instinct is to scan the room once more, searching for anything that they may had forgotten, though panic had distilled into his eyes as they darted from one locker to the next.

After Nyrea hands Foster a necklace and takes the bag from his own hand, her voice beckoned action. Lair nods at his partners in crime, giving them all a look that was uncertainty mixed with forced confidence. "See you on the outside," he says as he taps the bag that the half-elf had taken. After six seconds of almost awkward continuous contact, a dim silver glow emanates from his palm as he casts his "Release" spell; the bag suddenly flattens a bit from the bottom as the weight became significantly reduced, removing at least 40% of the burden for Nyrea. At the very best, Lair was hoping that the enchantment would last four minutes, which seemed like enough time for them to pass the weapons to their rightful owner.

"Hold on, Hero," the name slips out at Valac without thinking as he opens the door quietly. He hesitated, collecting his nerves for the first few seconds. The fact that the moment of truth had finally arrived intimidated the Ravenfolk, and it was clearly written on his face. Through force of will, he pushes his weight forward, similar to how one jumps into a cold lake to make the agonizing icy water quicker to adapt to. As he makes a dash through the familiar cobblestone flooring, he concentrates Wind essence on his unused hand, knowing full well what awaited him in the yard.

The moment Lair steps out, he sees a blackened sky with distant cracks of lightning indulging on the horizon. The air was littered with heavy drops of water, and sporadic gusts of wind would rear themselves at any bystanders. There were a collection of guards waiting for them with bows and axes, just as Valac had mentioned, though there was one peculiar individual that caught his eye. The man wasn't wearing heavy armor like the other guards, and wasn't wielding any sharpened weapons. He had a velvet robe with bright yellow seams, alongside a long staff with multiple gems floating at the end of the weapon. The man's identity was unmistakable.

Lair throws the canister that Nyrea had given him at the group of armed men. As it bounced and rolled, smoke began to escape, flooding the yard with a veil of murky ash white. The majority of the men were audibly surprised at the sight, not expecting for the escapists to be armed with such weaponry from a visit to the evidence room. Before the storm sweeps away the smokescreen, Lair releases the Wind essence; a current of air suddenly sweeps in a circular motion, encapsulating the fumes within to prolong the effects of obscuring the enemy's vision. He stood his ground at the entrance holding his position, hoping that the others would follow shortly.

Rose was blushing as well, and looked over at Eliana as they rode side by side. She reached over and took Eliana’s hand. She was having the same impure thoughts. “You are so incredibly beautiful, my dear,” she murmured. “I can’t make myself think of anything but you. Your kindness, your sensitivity, your beauty,” she murmured. Rose could get really romantic when she wanted to, and this was certainly one of those times. She had just completely fallen for this young Oracle before her.

Valac
Redvale, Jailhouse

Valac smiled at the impressive show of magical endowment mixed with ingenuity. To use the wind's power to blow around gas to keep it in place? Smart. Unfortunately, their triumph was cut short. The mage had begun the casting of an anti-spell. Valac could not do anything. He had no more energy. All he could do was warn.

"Lair, he's dispelling the wind!" he informed as quickly as he could, incapable of acting on his own. The temporary powerlessness was a bit asphyxiating, but once he contracted someone, preferably the one whose body he was currently using as a vehicle, he'd have a stable and steady source of mana.

Foster
Foster tore through the door after the others, looking about warily at the figures that loomed like hungry wolves around the edges of the yard. A particularly strong blast of lightning lit their features - including that of a dangerous but extremely gaudy looking man wearing robes. As quickly as the blaze of light came, it left again, and in its wake arrived thick, almost impenetrable tendrils of gray-white smoke. Shock lanced through his veins before he remembered the curious canister Nyrea had pressed into Lair's hands.

Before they had made it anywhere close to the exit, the mage began to dispel the smoke. Foster cursed as the unseen winds that their Ravenfolk companion had whipped up were violently pushed out and downward, seizing the falling raindrops in angry fingers and scattering them through the air. Smoke and water whipped past Foster, and he glimpsed the robed figure raising his arms, no doubt preparing some sort of attack. He slowed. He knew what he had to do.

And he couldn't wait.

Finally, he could do something. He had a purpose.

Two steps more, and his feet stilled on the wet ground. The world seemed to slow down. Foster slid lightly across the mud and grass as his left arm folded back towards the hidden lever inside his coat; as his elbow brushed the mechanism downward, his musket sprung out and down from the sling on his back and into his waiting right hand. With lightning speed and precision he turned, brought the weapon to his shoulder... one clean motion... fire.

Flame blinked to life, the weapon heaving back against his body - a familiar and welcome embrace. The crack of the musket echoed around the walls of the yard as a tiny ball of iron ripped through the flesh and bone of the mage's kneecap. Foster stood, poised in shooting posture, head wreathed in some smoke of his own making and a ghastly grin plastered on his face as he confirmed the hit on his target; the mage had doubled over for the moment, taken utterly by surprise and blindsided by the world of pain he had been taken to. That oughta keep him busy for a minute or two. Seemed to him like the magical world hadn't quite adjusted to the world of technology, at least for the moment.

Time returned to normal, and he dashed after the others as fast as he could manage in his current state. Blood was rushing in his ears.

Nelee
Nel stopped near the wall, turning to regard the mysterious man that seemed to be trying his best to make conversation with her over the rain. One of the beastfolk, she concluded by the ears peeking over the top of his head. Her eyes drifted briefly over the several weapons apparent on his person; she was suddenly painfully aware of the fact that her own armor and weapons were stored away in her saddlebags. Even with that in mind, even with the rain soaking through her gambeson and plastering her hair to her head, Nel kept her air of relaxed confidence. She mentally thanked Nana Ena for all her lessons.

She looked up to meet his eyes, smiling politely. "A good day to you too, friend. I wish I hadn't arrived in this weather, but sadly, I am here on business." She leaned to the side, one hand on her cane as she allowed the pause to linger for a moment. "Might we get out of the rain?"

Nyrea
Location: City of Redvale
Jailhouse (Groundfloor/Entrance)

Nyrea smiled to Lair in a silent thank you for the spell. She waited for the others to get out of the room and start running before closing the door. Giving them one last glance as they moved to the reception and (hopefully) to the exit, waiting to lose sight of them before she turned on her heel and move back to the way they came. But before crossing the doorway to the inner courtyard she stopped and looked around "Let's hope this works..." she said out loud to no one. Well not no one. The guards were starting to gather around, probably looking for them and ready to move and now they're eyes were on her. Scanning them quickly she confirmed, no mage. Not good, that meant the others were probably facing him. But at the same time that made her job a lot more easy. So before they could close the gap between them and her, she smiled brightly and projected her voice:

"Don't miss me too much yeah? It's just better if we just let this go. I think I'm just a bad influence..." and putting her hands in the various tapestries that were on the walls Nyrea casted two fireballs and set them on fire, making sure they would interrupt the path at least for a handful of minutes.

She grabbed the bag as she ran past the evidence room. She was sure Caius wouldn't let her live that one down if she forgot his things now. Running after the others she could hear thunder outside. It seemed the weather had turned quite worse. Not that she minded, no... all that turbulence made her feel... almost peaceful. Like if the skies were screaming then she didn't need to. But this time... this time she could hear something else with the thunder, a gunshot. She just managed to catch up with the rest of the group, seeing the mage bending over one of his knees, clearly in pain. Nice... she thought. But they needed to run before more reinforcements made their way to them. By now she was sure if the others were outside they could hear them, although probably not seeing them because of the smoke if they could just keep running they were almost outside.

"I could swear I told you guys to run..." Nyrea said to the group, her voice light, whistling once "Hey Raven, catch. And puddle." tossing Lair the rod, she concentrated to control the water around most of the guards, making sure she created a water thread from the guards to Lair, forming a small puddle just in front of him, by redirecting the rain that was around the party to that effect. If she believe it would make a difference she would probably pray for Lair to understand what she meant. She couldn't keep this up long enough to explain. That and that they would all have the good sense of not touch that water after.

Caius Grants
Redvale: Jailhouse
Another loud noise cuts through the rain. This time however, it wasn't the sound of thunder. It was the sound of a small explosion, a small confined explosion used to push forth projectiles. Caius knew what belonged to, he had seen it a few times before, thinking to himself that he would like to get his hands on one someday. It was the sound of a firearm being fired. Caius's attention drew back towards the entrance, now there were more guards than before and amongst them a man was writhing in pain on the wet ground. That must be foster, thought Caius as he remembered that he man had called himself a gunsmith, and along with him the others must be close.

Caius was about to leap in to help, but quickly realized that he currently has no easy way to knockout the guards, after all, if he used the stun rod in this rain, he too would likely be in for a nasty shock as well. And even if he gave up on not killing, the tools he has on hand were simply not effective against armor, there was nothing he could do... If only he could get to his sword, the one enchanted by the magic of fire, fire hot enough to melt through steel in an instant, then he would stand a chance.

However, there seemed to be no need for Caius to do anything. Around the guards, he sees water being gathered around them. At fist he thought that it was the mage amongst the guards, but seeing as he is sill writhing on the ground, he shouldn't be able to focus enough to do anything. Which means, this must be the doing of the jail breakers.

Caius understood what Nyrea was trying to do, or rather, in this situation, there was only one thing he could think of. It's times like this that Caius wished he was more talented in magic, he would have loved to pull nifty tricks like the one being done at the moment. However, it was no time to be jealous, getting out of prison was but the first step. Wasting no time at all, Caius removed the cloak given to him by Odette and placed it back onto her. Then, he lifted her onto his shoulders.

"Hang on tight, we'll be getting for of here at full speed in a moment."

He figured that if she were to run she would likely be the slowest considering her size, and that's no good for someone leading the way, which is why Caius, confident in his speed, decided spontaneously that he'll be her legs for the day.

"Depends on your definition of bad terms. Leaving on a disagreement may count. Or just general get out of each others sight. In the end I didn't leave hating the guy. Just it will be awkward the next time we see. For the time being I have a job with you guys. And if I encounter Ari I will need to make a detour." Cross was explaining when the two ladies showed up. "Restrain yourselves ladies. Inns exist for a reason. You are seriously making me miss my wi-." Cross was interrupted by a new chill in the air. "Uh oh."

Odette heard another loud noise but this sounded different from the thunder. It was a like a small explosion. She looked towards the entrance and also noticed all the guards. The others must of ben close by. That was good that meant they could all get out of here soon. She started to wonder if they should go in and help out. They didn't have any weapons on them at the moment though Caius could go get his things. As for Odette she didn't have anything with her but who knows maybe she'd being able to do a another quick think like she did at the tavern. Suddenly her cloak was placed on her and she felt herself being lifted on to Caius shoulders. "Whoa!" Once she was sitting on his shoulders she looked down at him getting ready to speak but her beat her to it. "Full speed?" Oh boy well this should be fun. She was silent for moment then smiled at him. "Alright ready when you are?"

Saia

Saia had been enjoying the conversation up until the older man had mentioned lunch. And her stomach growled. The humans always knew how to crack her. Which both imoressed and annoyed her. "You willing to pay for some good sweets? Cause I kind of don't have much money. Or if you know a way for me to make some better money that could also work." Saia was no moron when it came to flirting. A few men had attempted to hit on her but she always ended up making them walk away. And at the moment this man could end up getting her some decent food. Or a job to get a meal she needs. Humans must have small stomachs because their meals were so freaking tiny.

Running away doesn't solve the problem. It just festers in your mind, whether sooner or later." Cross commented on Rose and Eliana becoming a bit less subtle. "Oi, I say let them-" He was gonna finish with "have their moment," but Cross got all on guard suddenly. That naturally put him on guard on top of his carriage. It naturally was drawn to his rapier. "It's cliche to put us on guard without giving a reason."

Cross's complaint and then tensing up also put Eliana on guard. She drew her sword. It wasn't as long as it should be on horseback, but considering her physically weakened state due to 5 years a slave and depravity, it would have to do. She'd make it work. "What's going on?" She narrowed her eyes and her horse got tense as well. Her emotions were in sync with the horse she rode, so the horse was unnaturally yet naturally preparing for battle

Rose ignored Cross’ ramblings. She had no time for them, if he had a problem he could shove it. It meant no difference to her. Besides, she answered to Joseph and not Cross, so his whining really did nothing. Rose’s horse tossed his head when he saw the body language of Eliana’s, getting nervous. He reared up slightly and Rose pulled out a throwing potion that could temporarily blind an enemy, and another that could heal anyone on her team that got hurt. She was ready to fight, and so was her horse, who tossed his head again and stamped his foot, tearing again slightly in preparation.

"Aye, aye," Joseph said, waving off Cross's words. He was a bit annoyed that he was put on guard for Cross's interactions with his wife, but whatever. There she was standing in the road apparently, but Joseph was impatient. Interactions with loved ones, especially those who had the "happy wife, happy life" type of marriage. He once had to wait a good 15 minutes while a man convinced his wife to let him go somewhere. Pathetic in Joseph's mind. Grown men, trained warriors, grovelling in front of the wife. Maybe it was his Army General (hardass side) speaking. "No time for grovelling. Joseph didn't really care about Rose and Eliana's lovey dovey stuff, so long as they weren't doing anything........NSFW while they were moving and within his range of vision. Twas their business

Eliana had steam coming out of her ears at this point. Her........impure thoughts were completely see-through for someone like Joseph. She wouldn't have even understood his sarcastic metaphor if he didn't say lovebirds. Cross was embarrassing enough, but coming from the mouth of an aged man like Joseph was amplified. Which was more embarrassing? A young looking guy in a group or the oldest in the group (at least in looks). Was like her grandparent talking about her love-life. She pulled a bit closer to Rose, but kept her head down. They needed to be a bit more subtle. It'd bother those in the group.

Silas O'Vera
Both Silas and Maverick yelped, their sensitive ears assaulted by Luna's shriek. Driven purely by instinct (from enemies using sound based attacks being fairly common), he was at the tent door, his hand on his sword ready to draw and swing. He of course came to his senses the second after, but that definitely startled him. Maverick just covered her ears to try and protect them from further assault and to get the ringing out. "Fuck! Fuck! What's wrong, Luna?!" Silas said frantically, trying to console her. Twas like a baby starting to cry out of nowhere from being happy or, in this case, a peaceful sleep...........No beginnings on what the hell to do. "What castle? What about your mom?"

Rose put her hand on Eliana’s back and rubbed it gently, though she didn’t say anything. Joseph was practically a father figure to her, he had mentored her when she was a mere teenager who had lost her guardian and moved to the city alone. She wasn’t really bothered by his comments, she was used to his teasing. It was only Cross who was getting on her nerves. At any rate, she put her potions back and calmed her horse, riding him along quietly.

We'll pick her up and you two can battle it out behind me while the two lovebirds contemplate a battle of their own tonight." He rolled his eyes at everything going on. “Well before your time when I was really young my father was a king....he ruled his kingdom fairly letting all types of races live there. My mother...unlike my father who appeared cruel but was kind, was sweet on the outside but cruel on the inside...” looking up at Silas as she moved to his chest wanting to be held “in short I had a vision....if my father raises the castle he once ruled in from the ruins that it is now my mother will return to this world to destroy it.....He didn’t know that she tried to kill him all those years ago...”

Lair Aelnor
Location: Ravinia, city of Redvale
Jailhouse (Front Yard / Entrance)

"Anti-magic?" Lair grunts, heeding Valac's warning as he prepares for the next step. His follow up technique in case they were to attempt to break through the rapid current holding the smoke was to create an "explosion" of wind using the hemispherical barrier. Before he gets to act, however, a loud cracking sound forces a flinch out of the Ravenfolk-- a whizzing sound projects from behind Lair, striking the mage's knee almost instantaneously. Feeling cautious, he turns only for a second to confirm that it was indeed Foster's aim that crippled the man, and not a misfire from a rare breed of a firearm wielding soldier. He was amazed at Foster's skill in calculating ballistics, as the wind would have changed the trajectory a bit had he aimed directly at the knee. Or perhaps he underestimated the speed of a fired bullet, as it was a technology that he wasn't exactly familiar with. Either or, he was very thankful for the shot, as this would surely cancel the anti-magic spell that was being prepared.

The water below their feet comes alive, forming into a thin stream towards the guards. Nyrea reveals herself to Lair as she passes him the topaz-crested rod with a toss, her words adorned with a sense of straightforwardness. Lair simply smirks at the woman's plan.

Before he continues, with his unarmed hand, Lair "pulls" the air that was holding their cover in place and summons it around the party, though frees the smokescreen from it's prison as it begins to dissipate. The wind whips rapidly around their feet, pushing the puddles that had formed to the outside like a miniature whirlwind. The current of wind fades, leaving the group's flooring free of the many puddles that plagued the gaps within the uneven cobblestone. By this time, the governing storm overhead fully brushes aside the fog, revealing the group of guards and the single crippled mage who was on a single knee, desperately trying to heal his wound.

Lair points the charged tip of the rod to the stream that was still being held together by Nyrea's water magic; the charge of electricity zips through the thin stream, reaching the exposed guards as they're incapacitated from the attack. The bodies fall like statues, their armor ringing across the yard loudly in sync with one another. Only three of the soldiers remained standing, alongside the mage, who had likely managed to somehow negate the attack for them.

"Now would be a great time to have some backup," Lair jests with heavy breaths. He hadn't used his wind magic in so long, that he felt quite drained from the continuous control of the magic.

Silas O'Vera

Silas took it all in. Twas not good if she spoke the truth, which Silas had no reason to doubt. His fur started bristling while he shook his head. He then held her. "He's overdue for some information then, Luna. We need to tell him.........even knowing how impossible that may be." Silas knew that something insane was gonna go down in the future. Raven mentioned his wife all the time. It would likely shatter his world view. Hell, he could very well get violent in denial. Serious violent. This might be territory they couldn't traverse without evidence first.

The group set up camp pretty far away in a different woodlands, near a source of water to wash themselves in. By set up, they just cleared the area they were gonna use. Slaying hostile creatures, moving rocks and leaves, etc. The monsters encountered on the way were all pointless fodder. Joseph just put some simple techniques on any bandits they encountered. Cross stayed in the middle arguing with his wife and Eliana/Rose stayed in the very back doing whatever it was lovebirds did. Talking, caressing, kisses thrown, that kind of stuff.
Joseph decided to set up a campfire. He didn't even bother with his tent yet. He needed sticks. "Oi, going out to get fire and if I'm lucky, a buck."

Eliana McKenzie
After a lot of struggle and help from Rose, Eliana had set up her tent given to her by Joseph and in it, she placed some belongings that she requested of him, as well as the short sword she got from Maverick. In the tent was incense, some candles, a few orbs and crystals. After spending some time feeding and talking to Celeste, establishing some form of bond, she focused her efforts on trying to somehow track Gayle or track her key............or talk to Rose. Her tent had a filter rune to filter the smoke out of her tent, so while the incense burned, the smell stayed yet the smoke was gone. Her tent was fairly big, Joseph packing only the best stuff

Rose fed her horse and let him rest since he had worked a lot, and then she turned to find Eliana. When she did she wrapped her arms around her and kissed Eliana’s neck. “Your tent smells amazing,” she murmured, smiling against her skin. “As do you. You smell like the soap from your bath.” She kissed Eliana’s lips gently. “Would you mind sharing your tent with me? It’s getting dark and I don’t want to put mine up,” she said with a soft chuckle. She may or may not have waited for sunset just so she could have this excuse.

“No no....we still have time....it was at first snowfall...” standing up and putting on a smile she stroked silas’s Cheek. “Right now we need information, a dream or vision isn’t enough to bother him yet.” Gathering some of her things in the tent up she prepared for travel. “So the pack is moving camp or to a more permanent position?” Her belly already slightly starting to show. Brushing some hair from her eyes and fidgeting with her fingers a bit “Silas....when will....our wedding be?”

"Look it was a string of events. I was meaning to tell you but things got crazy. And we kinda owe Joseph." Cross attempted to explain before Ellie cut in

"I know we owe the guy. But would it have killed you to at least let me know instead of having Asterus find me and relaying the message and when I show up you are gone. I mean I've been attempting to get you to buy a comm crystal but you are so old fashioned. I mean don't get me wrong it was romantic when you proposed by using Asterus to brighten the mood but still you are old fashioned! Kindly grow up with the world, Adapt or die."

Asterus sighed and was quick to fly to Joesphs side. "Do you Mind if I accompany you? Been a while since I've spoken with anyone outside of my lord and lady. And of all of the people hear I do believe we can have the more mature conversation." It was tough to tell but Asterus was indeed smiling as he heard Cross and Ellie arguing. "Believe me they get over it quick so don't worry if they stop for no reason."

Alex realized he was being ignored and left after he finished feeding his horses. His carriage was outside, but Alex really wanted to know something. It was always beneficial for a merchant like him to be on good standing, so perhaps a visit to the guardhouse was due. Alex took his horses and tied them up the carriage. He clicked his tongue in annoyance as lightning flashed and thunder sounded not too long after. In the plains, where lightning was a problem. He learned that the longer the sound took, the farther away the lightning was.

The guardhouse was also a temporary jailhouse for cases still pending completion. A relatively safe place to keep criminals to sort things out. Not a lot should be going on. If there was a murder in a tavern, it was probably just some drunkards locked up. Either way, Alex had faith in the guards for protection from threats that mattered to HIM. Thieves were Alex's only problem, so he didn't particularly care about murderers. Murder, often times, was specific; a man cheated in a gambling game or a man killing the person indebted to him, or other cases like that were common cause for murder. Other threats like bandits were only an issue on the road. To Alex, the thieves wandering around a city were a reason for concern. Hopefully nothing bad happened.

Lawrence "Raven" Vlax

With the shot resounding around and the Aether arrow sitting in a position, Lawrence walked up and brightened his torch to make more light. He looked at the wall the arrow had hit and began searching around. A faint scream echoed through the cave and Lawrence looked closer at the wall. It was getting very cold, and the wall was nearby a rather...odd looking part of the wall.

Lawrence touched the wall and pulled his gauntlet back to strike it. He struck hard and a large ringing took place in it. "The other side is hollow. Also, my claws couldn't crack it despite being as thin as it is."

Lawrence retracted his claws slightly and placed his hand on the wall. A strong orange glow emitted from the claw and the ice began rapidly melting. On the other side was an icy cavern and noticed something rather damning at the entrance. A leg, a frozen leg was sitting in a pile of ice. The leg appeared to be that of a wild animal, but it still did not bode well. Lawrence was wondering about the other man's obsession with the subject of dire wolves. This could possibly be a good reason. The ice was magical, which was why it had thawed at such a damningly fast rate to fire magic. Now that the ice was gone the scream sounded again and was more audible than before. The scream was human, and Lawrence looked back at his temporary partner and said with a rather serious voice, "Listen. I have a bad experience with caves...similar to this situation. If I start to lose my nerve, hit me how you deem most appropriate. If these are Dire Wolves with ice powers...I'm glad I use fire."

Fiona followed the party behind a short distance, but being mindful of their own space until she noticed they were starting to set up camp. She considered turning back and relaying the information of nothing to the guards, but when she looked back she realized she was lost. Fiona had no useful way to navigate in the woodlands. She mostly rode along with other carriages or something, so navigation was never much of an issue. She looked back to the group and sighed to herself. This was going to be awkward. Fiona wasn't great at pathological lying to suit her own interests alone because outside of her unsavory line of work it paid to be honest most of the time...but with the line out of the old man about him gathering firewood and the like...she gleamed an opportunity.

Fiona waited until Joseph had left the camp and followed off a little ways from him looking for fire materials. She should at least make herself presentable, but her timid and rather stealthy nature interfered with these sort of events. However, she mustered up the courage and walked up to this mysterious old man with a nervous smile and politely said, "Excuse me. I'm...rather lost and I noticed your group a while back." Damning for her once more, Fiona was rather quiet approaching the old man. She was only seven feet from him and to possibly end up making things worse, she had been hiding her presence.

Zak grinned with a friendly shine to his eyes. The person had looked at his weapons but still talked to him. "Gods, I know what you mean. Not only do thunderstorm winds constantly move up and down, but you have the threat of lightning." Zak's little remark was short lived for conversation when the person asked to get out of the rain, so he agreed and showed her to a nearby inn/tavern that was open for the evening. It was a rather rowdy place at this hour and day. With nothing to do, many people nearby the docks were drinking the storm away. He sat himself down at a small table and invited the woman to sit with him saying, "I'm in a good mood, so feel free to have a few drinks on me or a meal."
