Maverick

Maverick nodded but sighed, shaking her head. "I suppose you humans have your version of the wolf hierarchy and Wolf Code," she said, them reaching the end of the line of the forest. She sat down at the end. Flashing white, she turned back into a human. She dug into her bag and unsheathed a short sword. "We're overstocked. Take it and destroy him," Maverick said, her eyes hard and flashing red. She couldn't rage transform, but she still had indicators of someone who could. That included the red flashing eyes.
Eliana took the blade, surprised at Maverick's sudden kindness. The blade was the lightest weapon she's had since being freed. Her spear would be most useful on horseback, but a shortsword was good to get in close, though that wasn't her strong suit. She bowed as best she could on horseback. "Thank you........er.........."
"............Maverick is my name." She said, answering the unasked question.

Silas
Silas held his arm out for Luna. "Arm for now," he said in a whisper. "After this, either bite my neck or go to Maverick." He kept talking to Joseph and Cross as if nothing was happening. "Cross, how long have you been doing blade for hire work?" Silas was curious as to the approximate age of both Joseph and Cross, but curious about their abilities far more than their age. He could SEE Joseph's experience by the way he retained Pure Silver on his sword. He must've been using the spells for quite some time. They reached the end of the forest, the escort over.

Luna got down on her knees, blushing she took his hand instead and pricked his middle finger instead, sucking on his finger and lapping the blood up. “A pricked ginger is easier to explain....if you have to...” pausing long enough to say that. Closing her eyes enjoying it as wolf ears and tail appeared from his blood. Not taking too much so they would go away before they returned to the camp. Standing up she dusted her pants off and smiled “it is a pleasure to meet you Both and thank you for not fighting us” bowing out of respect to The group.

"Let me count. Let's see started at 25 and have been doing it since. I'd wager 150 years. I worked for Werewolves, Vampires, Fae, humans. Yeah I've been around in tye business. But I only know basics of every species I've mentioned. The thing about being a hired blade is your never that trusted. We can be bought out just like that. Or we agree more with another client. But hey it's how I lived my life." Cross was laying on the back of the cart as he recounted his experience. "But then I got hired by the original Ravinian crusaders. Eventually they counted me as one of them. My god those were big checks."

Silas froze when he mentioned the Ravinian Crusaders. Plans were about to change. "Cross Auscent you must be. If you were one of the Ravinian Crusaders, I'm sure you can get to him without suspicion. I have a favor to ask of you." Silas kept looking out. "Whenever you see Ari Waesmor again, I need you to give him something that he's been looking for forever." He pulled a necklace off his neck and put it in Cross's hand. "He's training one of mine and I promised to make it worth his while. That is interest. The actual item is at camp. Follow."
Silas turned around and went back towards the camp, breaking off into a run. He explained how he came to be in that situation. 20 years ago, Ari saved the life of one of his pack pups and took him in to train him afterwards. Silas never got to meet Ari personally, but never saw the pup again either, due to Ari's immensely private nature since the death of Arabelle and Misty. He of course still trained and took in clientelle, but he trained them in secrecy on his ship with his crew. Since then, Silas wanted to pay Ari back by giving him something priceless. How about the weaponry that Ari used during his contract era? Each weapon that held one of his beloved familiars that he no longer had. They were all written down as Ari knew the weapon associated with them, but finding them would be a hell of a task.

Joseph fell behind very fast and was last to arrive to the camp, having gotten back in his carriage as he got tired from running far too fast. He was somewhat quick, but only in a circle. Having to move around from place to place a lot was TERRIBLE for him. Running was to John as Holy Magic was to a Demon.

The Werewolf camp was populated with a bunch of life, about half of which were transformed in Werewolf form. The other looked completely human and just walked about the camp going about their business. As Silas walked through the brush into the camp, everyone greeted the Alpha. Seeing the others made them suspicious, but it mostly dissolved as they saw the other werewolves bringing up the rear. Silas introduced the group to the camp. "Here is my pack's temporary humble abode. We're about to pack up and leave tonight."

Maverick went over to the women. "Come with me. Especially you Luna." Maverick had watched her do some pretty erotic stuff to get Silas's blood and she currently had the werewolf ears. Luna needed some blood and fast. Maverick led them all over to the medical tent. What she smelled on all 3 women could've made her sick. They were drowning her nose in Oxytocin, Dopamine, and Seratonin. Luna was to be expected at this point as it seemed like she rolled in some aphrodisiac aura, but these other two.........Geez. Still, she got close to Rose. VERY close. Canine customs "You have healing magic. I smell it on you. I need you to inject some mana into this vial." Maverick took a necklace off her neck and on it was a crystal. She put the crystal into the vial. "Luna, go grab a blood bag." They were in plain sight.

Toby lowered the crossbow. "You're not likely to find Dire Wolves just out and about. Unless the kids have been moved or eaten or something, they're likely to be in a secluded place." Usually a cave. This was especially the case since this forest was enchanted and it was likely that the dire wolves now had some form of magic to use. "If we go and find these kids, it's likely that we will find whatever's keeping them as well and fighting down your bounty. 2 birds, one arrow. Win Win for the both of us." Toby wasn't typically the type to go with a ocmpanion, but if they both had to gain in this place, he may as well bite the bullet and hope this guy had nothing to gain by killing him, not that Toby was scared. Just that he had better stuff to use his energy for something more meaningful than a non-mission fight.

Caius Grants
Redvale: Jailhouse
"Well, I was sort of getting in he way, so I left the it up to the rest."

As Caius slowly got up from the ground, he received Odette's cloak, which he was grateful for, but then he wondered if perhaps she needed it more. After all, while water is good for a plant, too much of it can be rather harmful. Then again, it's not as if she's a flower in a pot and neither is she rooted. She'll probably be fine after all.

"Thank you." he said as he puts the small cloak over himself. It's not the big heavy one he's used to but it's better than nothing.

After that, he went over the corner and peeked over it, looking towards the entrance at the far side. Caius recons that this will the where the others will exit from, reasoning that it would make more sense for a prison to have one exit rather than too, makes it much easier to guard. Currently two guards stand in front of the entrance, right below the overhand to shelter themselves from the rain. The other will most certainly have to deal with these two when they exit, and Caius will have to be ready to help when they do.

"Say, what are you doing in town anyways? You could probably do just fine in the forest right?"

However, before then, there's still some time, might as well make some small talk.

Odette watched as he peaked around the corner. Guess he was checking out to see where the entrance was. Guess they could take out the guards so the others wouldn’t have to but they had time. The thundering had calm some but it was still going. But it wasn’t loud enough for to be to freaked out. She looked up at him when he asked her what she was doing in town. In way he was right about living in the forest though that could get lonely after a while. “Well the owner of the bakery, Miss Mable, she saved from almost dying when I was traveling alone. I had gotten really sick. She took me to the cottage I live now. It was hers but she gave it to me to live in. Offered to help her out as a thank you and she taught me about the outside world and how to take care of myself during extreme weather.” She said smiling but then her smiled faded. “I work in her bakery though doesn’t look like I will anymore......Anyway the cottage she gave me is pretty small but cute....oh! I totally forgot I don’t even know if I can fit all of you in it....” Suddenly she started talking really fast. “I mean the hide out is big. It’s a big area of green grass and there’s a lake but cottage itself is pretty small which is not good for weather like this.” She went quiet thinking. With weather like this there was no way anyone could sleep out side. But then after thinking about it. She did have a bed big enough for two and there was a area above her bed maybe two or three could fit....then of course there was the floor. “Oh never mind I figured it out.” She smiled, “There’s a enough room. Might be a little cramped but it’ll work.....hey um when you guys leave you think I could come along? I...can’t really stay here anymore and...well I want to see if I can find my family. So you think I could tag along? I’ll be able to help out fight once I get my flute and I’m pretty good at avoiding danger and sneak attacks.” She said grinning she referring to hitting that lion on the head with the pan.

Keeping her eyes on the guards, Nyrea nodded to Caius parting words, absently minded. She wasn’t trilled about not having another fighter in the group in case they were discovered but if it cost them their stealth? Maybe it was worth it. So when Heru made his way to the group she was more than ready to keep moving.

“Not bad little thing, not bad” she was careful to keep her voice low not to call attention to the group while she talked to the rat. Remembering the instructions he had given them earlier she moved as silently as she could to the storage room, with some close calls during the way but she managed to get to the room were their things were being kept.

She smiled to herself, looking a lot like a child who just got candy when she got her little bag and all her weapons back. This felt right. She looked around fast, trying to remember everything Caius had on him at the time. She wasn’t paying too much attention during the fight and everything else but she did have an eye for quick inventory.

“Like stealing from a fat merchant. Better than expected.” She waited for everyone to get everything while grabbing Caius weapons. Holly hell those were heavy. “Now let’s not overstay our visit shall we?” She gave them a mischievous smile before continuing “Who wants to try and go through the front door?”

Now that the lightning was striking, Alex felt it was time to move some things along. He had already paid Zak the amount due, which was around seven hundred gold. For some lodging and food, that was enough for what Zak had provided. Alex had his wagon and horses set up in a stable near the guardhouse. He was having such things there for a specific reason: protection. Alex was saving up a large sum of gold in his wagon's secret compartment, so it was a good idea to keep it in the safest spot possible. When he did make it to the guardhouse with his wagon, Silas noticed a woman by his draft horses. The woman had her hand on his horse, so Alex decided to walk up. He had a few vegetables in hand.

"You seem to be interested in my horses. May I help you in some way?" Alex asked as he approached the two. He walked by the horse the woman was petting and held out a carrot to the vacant two of his draft horses. "This one, with the white tail and the long mane covering his face is Kornelius. The one you're petting is Lindsey." Unlike Kornelius, Lindsey had a white mane and a black coat in contrast to Kornelius's brown coat. The rain was continuing to pour violently outside, but compared to the smell of a thunderstorm over horse crap was beginning to become a tough call.

A lot of noise was beginning to happen next door, but Alex assumed that it wouldn't matter.

Lawrence smiled at the man's response. This would be rather beneficial to him, but a little talk first. Lawrence began to continue walking the direction he was heading to and encouraged Tobias to follow. As they walked, he said, "Redvale issued these bounties. Dire wolves...aren't a normal occurrence in these parts. While from my experience, dire wolves are often left alone, a possible mating pair entering this forest spelled with enchanted creatures is a worry...but the other two...a Goliath Spider and Giant Puss Toads are worse. A Goliath Spider is...big, it's head alone is the size of us, and it's a hunting spider. It doesn't sit in webs, waiting for its prey. This one has been terrorizing roads lately, so it has to be taken care of. The Puss Toads are the worst though. A Goliath's fangs can be avoided, but imagine having to fight off an animal that spits poison out of its injuries. Acidic, paralysis, and sometimes gaseous in magical environment. Five bastards are all we need, but they can swallow you whole, so be careful."

Lawrence eventually walked by a cave, and began looking around the entrance. There were no strangely deformed corpses, so Lawrence sighed with relief. A flat and rotten corpse that was also deformed would be the sign of a Goliath Spider, so whatever could live in the cave didn't leave its prey out after eating. That was unless the Goliath Spider was a mother, but with no bones sitting outside that claim was likely an empty one. Lawrence looked off to Tobias and said, "Gods...I would hope the dire wolves be in the open. Hunting or doing whatever wolves normally do...unless our Goliath is a proud mother. Fuck caves."

Lawrence said the last line with a deep resentment clear in his voice. Last time he had tangled with monsters in a cave...he damn well near lost his life. Lawrence didn't make an oath to stay out of caves, but he still hated them with a passion. The worst thing to do is go in a monster's den where they have the advantage. All one would need for that evidence is the corpses of all the dead who would hope to slay them. Lawrence stared at the mouth of the cave intently thinking hard. How many other mercenaries may have come before him to hunt this bounty? Only to die in terror as their throat was ripped out by dire wolves or stabbed by a Goliath and slowly eaten by her or her offspring with his insides melting into their soup.

Lawrence's gauntlet sparked and a flame erupted out of his gauntlet to form a small ball floating around. He motioned it towards the cave to take a look inside just past the event horizon of the dark, giving light to what laid just inside.

Fiona's footsteps fell silently on the ground to a rabbit she was approaching to. Only when the rabbit heard her breathing did it bolt away into the brush. Fiona was carefully tracking something. It was a rather odd request, but a few guards paid her to do their job and go investigate this part of the forest. She needed the money as much as she hated to admit it. A beastmen barmaid wouldn't earn her enough coin and she couldn't return to her parents after what she had done. Whatever her case, there were tracks to follow in the woods. Tracks made by people, which put her mind at ease that whatever was here might not be a savage animal.

The more she followed though, the worse she felt. It was a gut feeling. Every noise and unusual smell put her mind on high alert. Even the rabbit that had bolted away caused her head to snap and pupils dilate as if such a tiny creature was a threatening predator. There was a peculiar smell hanging in the air though, she couldn't name the herb or plant for the life of her, but she didn't like it for some reason. Her sixth sense screamed danger, but the hunger pangs she had ever since coming to Redvale. She had tried to make an honest living again, but it just wasn't possible. The meals were poor and he was treated like an animal by many.

A sound hit her ears and a strong vibration was felt in her tail, Fiona ran in the opposite direction and hid behind a tree. She began taking deep breaths for courage, but after leaning on a tree she kept her hand on her dagger. Her tail fur bristled in anxiety, and her ears began twitching wildly to pick up sound from any possible direction. A stench was filling her nose, it was that of an animal. She loosened her dagger's grip. Hopefully whatever was there would go away.

Zak Schrodinger
Location: Redvale - Ports - Or Anywhere
Interactions: Open

Zak finished counting his gold, it was six hundred pieces. A good pay haul, but being a guard, Zak knew he needed more jobs later. In the city, he had a leather guard buckled onto his spear to show he had no intention of using it, but he was leaning on a wall overlooking the airship port. Not many airships had much need for many bodyguards at all. Unlike the sea, where Zak was originally, airships always had the option to crash and be recovered. Crashes could always be survived, but if a ship was sunk there was no coming back from the abyss that is the ocean.

People were rather absent from the port. Lightning did not bode well for any form of flying. The air of a thunderstorm was another matter. The up and down currents of air tossed airships greatly. Zak's guardian was an airship guard half the time with other jobs in between.

"Damn...and when I thought of hitting an airship, looks like I have to wait until tomorrow...I hope I can find a job tomorrow." Zak was starting to get sick of the rain, but he was beginning to feel more sober from after drinking the wine. Probably too early for another drink though, it would be better if he just started on a walk. How dull, such a gloomy day was a bad day for all types, but Zak might as well enjoy having a quiet city for once.

Lair Aelnor

Jailhouse (Breakout)

Impressive, thought Lair as Valac successfully thwarted the guards from discovering their position. He gives the rat a thumbs up with a grin, knowing full well that they were in the middle of a stealth op that could not afford any more audible slip ups. The little rat had already done considerable deeds for them, and so with great restrain from petting the creature, he gently swoops him up and places him once more over his shoulder into the hood. Finally, he turns back to the hall. He meticulously eyed the half-elf as she traversed the space with such speed and elegance, making it past with a textbook example of efficiency. His eyes, still focused, trace the path, and in one single dash over Nyrea's exact foot path, he quickly follows suit, arriving into the evidence room.

Upon stepping inside, the Ravenfolk immediately spots a compartment with all of his belongings— a lance, a collection of two daggers, and a small bag with the rest of his non-combative possessions. His weapons, however, were unsheathed and still bloodied from the previous brawl. "They could have at least wiped our things," he mutters disgustedly under his breath as he does just that with a nearby hanging set of clothes. Once he's satisfied with the gleam of his weapon, he conceals the blade with the leather sheathe, while strapping his two daggers in their respective straps. "A fat and deaf merchant," he adds onto Nyrea's comment with a quiet chuckle.

Noticing that Oahu still wasn't following behind, he spies the tamer's compartment and stashes the man's daggers into his bag, strapping the smaller spear over his back as he wielded his own. Fortunately, he'd be able to relief himself of the additional weight, unlike Nyrea who'd be burdened with the weaponry for Caius' personal infantry unit. No matter her capability, it wasn't ideal to weigh down the lead; Lair quickly scans the room to see if there's anything that they can use to their advantage.

"I agree about not overstaying our visit," Lair sighs, "though there's just one thing we should do before we make our way out." The avian reaches over one of the lockers and grabs a large duffel bag, unzipping it and revealing the empty space to Nyrea. "Go ahead and dump whatever you don't want to carry; you're our lead, so you shouldn't be bearing an excessive amount of weight. I'm ready otherwise, so I'll follow right behind you." He was sure that with her history as the Blue Raven, she must have been in similar situations while nabbing all sorts of belongings. Whether she'd be capable was a totally different story.

"Any chance you'd know the status of the guards and mage?" Lair asks Valac with a turned neck, purposefully not calling him by name. He was almost sure he had heard him say "Heru", but for some reason, he knew that somehow he'd mispronounce the rodent's name.

Valac
Redvale, Jailhouse

"Maybe they kept the blood for evidence? Magic can determine who blood belongs to," Valac said in response to Lair's valid complaint. Valac spaced out temporarily, feeling a little weak on the inside. His energy was running low after that stunt. His appearance took on a tired aspect.

Like a curse striking in the worst moment, Lair asked Valac about the guards and mage. He's helped them so far and he could sense a slender but healthy sliver of trust coming from Lair. He needed to maintain and nurture that trust, then become Lair's familiar. That was his short-term plan. His ticket toward the future. Valac didn't even think about what would happen after. If he didn't manage to secure a source of mana soon, there would be no "after."

With that, he decided to use more energy. He focused his mind. Valac felt himself vomit psychologically from the growing spiritual weakness.

Imagine being starved, your body's bonds and cells slowly fighting over the scraps of whatever nutrients hold them together. That was Valac's soul, except its systems fought for mana to maintain themselves without turning dormant again. He felt tired, hungry, thirsty - in an aphysical way. This was a gambit; if Lair didn't agree to form a contract, Valac's chances of finding a new master were slim.

His eyes widened in surprise. Valac looked at Lair and Nyrea urgently. "Bad news, guys. The guards appear to be congregating near the yard. My guess is one of them made rounds around the cell-block and saw the cell is empty. I speculate that we have... forty-five seconds until the jailhouse is locked down, one to two minutes until the city guard is alerted, and five minutes until reinforcements arrive here to begin tracking. I advise we find the rest of the crew and get away as fast as possible."

And get me a mana potion, he thought.

And then, Valac's frame sparked with blue color as the rat was zapped with what seemed to be a bolt of lightning. Valac squeaked wildly, then explained: "That mage knows of me. He just detected my scrying and sent feedback. You can't rely on me anymore," he huffed through his agitated breath. Valac's body hurt; the shock went through his primitive but present nervous system and gave it a severe burn. He would have to change bodies soon, as this one was going to die soon and he didn't want to expend mana on maintaining it. Of course, he didn't tell that to the team. Not yet.

It seemed like it was the time for the climax of this jailbreak.

Maverick said. Since they were about to leave, Silas was in a hurry to give it to them to give to Ari. "Cross was one of them, so Silas figured that he would take it to him." Whether or not that was true was a different story, but Maverick was sure that Ari would pay Cross for turning in such a priceless item to Ari. It was worth a fortune alone, but doubly so to someone like Ari, who held it over a lot of people's LIVES.

"I suppose it wouldn't be a problem if it's only a little cramped, but what I'm hoping for is a fireplace. You probably don't need one but I'm dying to sit next to a fire right about now."

Caius prides himself for his ability to sleep just about anywhere so long as the climate isn't on the scale of extreme. Even in this rain, so long as he could find a tree or a cave, he should do fine, that is, provided that he has a warm fire by his side. After all, being human, keeping warm is important, no matter how much he trains his body, he simply cannot overcome the elements without any sort of protection. Perhaps if he knew magic such a thing could be circumvented, but sadly, the man is talentless in the art of spell casting, so that isn't happening anytime soon, or ever for that matter.

"As for coming with us... Well, I'm not even sure if there's an "us" at the moment. You might want to ask the others about it too, maybe one of us will be happy to take you along."

While true, they may be able to survive better overall if they stick together, it did not guarantee that they would remain together, after all, each of them would surely have their own businesses to attend to and has absolutely no obligation whatsoever to stay together. For Caius himself, he'll go wherever there's an opportunity presenting itself, so depending on the situation, he may stick with the rest or go his own way.

"So anyways, have you any idea where your family went? You said you're going to try and look for them right?"

While continuing to watch the entrance, Caius suddenly struck up a conversation, and he immediately regretted it as soon as he opened his mouth. It was none of his business first and foremost, and he was sure that he isn't going to say anything good to the girl. he has absolutely no pleasant nor optimistic thoughts when it comes to this subject. Yet, he brought it up, perhaps because it has once crossed his mind before, perhaps because even though he should have given up and moved on from it, somewhere deep down, he's still hoping for it, hoping to find the family, both families, taken from him despite knowing that the odds were just far too small and that he could spend his all to short lifetime searching to no avail.

She thought for a moment. When he mentioned having a fireplace. "Oh! Yeah I have one. It's by the bed. There should be firewood already in it." When asked if she knew where her family even was she was silent for moment. She wasn't entirely sure. "Well....I heard rumors that there was a tribe of people who had traveled south from here. But other then that I don't know where they could of went.....But even still I rather at least try instead of not trying at all. Besides I'm sure the enchantress will guide my way." She said smiling. She stood up and stretched out her arms and looked at him for a moment before speaking. She was thinking about who she would like to travel with if they split up. "Hey I wouldn't mind traveling with you." She said her face brightening up. "What do you say if we split up wanna be travel buddies?" She said grinning. But that grin soon disappeared when a loud thunder roared and there was lightning strike both seeming pretty close. She jumped and quickly grabbed his arm and closed her eyes. After a few seconds she opened her eyes and when she realized she was holding on to Caius she quickly let go. "S-sorry" She said blushing slightly out of embarrassment.

Zak Schrodinger
Location: Redvale - Ports - Or Anywhere

“They are beautiful horses, you have made a good choice in the two of them, perhaps I could interest the two of you in a drink?” Raven chuckling at the saia’s Banter. Dusting his coat off a bit. Caius Grants
Redvale: Jailhouse
Caius was glad to heard that there is indeed a fireplace to warm himself beside by the time this is over. He was worried that since Odette was a plant, she may not use one. Though, since she got the place from a human there shouldn't really be much cause for concern to begin with. Now let's just hope there's some logs to burn, hopefully the old lady had left some.

"You could try, yes, but how long are you going to try for. So long as you don't know where they are, they could always be out there. How long do you intend to try? And can you bring yourself to turn back with the thought haunting you, the thought that they could always be at the next corner?" Such words were not spoken, and instead Caius swallowed it and locked it away at the pit of his stomach. When Odette said she wanted to try to find her family rather than never at all, he wanted her to know that the thing about trying is that there must be a point where you know that you've either succeeded or failed. In this case, though chances were slim, success is possible, but the opposite is not true. Till the moment you die, you'll never know if you've failed, so long as you keep searching, they could always be at the next corner, or the next, or the next. It will never end till you find them, if you ever find them, which may very well be never. However, he, with all of his will and discipline decided against it, he through that it would be simply too cruel a fact for the child. She'll have to gradually come to realize it, just as he had.

"Travel buddies, huh. It could be fun, I suppose. I've always traveled alone so it'll be a nice change of pace."

Caius responded as if all was normal. The thought he just had was completely locked away and in fact was completely forgotten when a flash of lightning accompanied by perhaps one of the loudest thunder he has ever heard. Never will he not dislike thunder, or any loud noise for that matter, it disrupts his thoughts and seals one of his senses, though but for an instant. However, there should be someone here that dislikes thunder even more. Seeing Odette clinging to him, he was yet again reminded of his that younger brother of his, he too was no good with thunder and lightning and would always cling onto Caius whenever there's a thunderstorm. This girl just keeps bringing me back doesn't she? Thought Caius. To be travelling with her, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

"Wow, you're actually blushing. I wonder why you imitate humans to such a degree. Perhaps you ancestors wanted to make friends with us?"

Caius didn't think much of the blushing. He assumed that the child was only embarrassed of how childlike she was behaving when she was trying to be an "adult" as many children would be.

"Well, you can hold on to me if you want, I'm not a fan of the thunder either."

She couldn't wait till tomorrow it would be sunny and bright. But it felt like tomorrow would never come when playing this waiting game. "Huh" She looked up at him when he spoke again. "Oh uh...n-no it's fine." There was another loud thunder and lightening strike. She suddenly found herself holding on to his arm again. Nyrea

Nyrea laughed to Lair's remark. "Those are my favourite kind" and started putting Caius' things inside the bag. Yeah that would help and if needed be she could use a little magic to help with the weight. But it was time for lady fortune to stop smiling at them, she could tell that the moment Valac started to talk.

Nyrea started rummaging through the shelves after hearing the little rat's report, cursing under her breath. Her voice was restrained when she spoke to him again "Thank you. It's good to know and I'm sorry if that hurt you" she wasn't mad at him, just the situation was a little too frustrating for her taste. She needed something to help them get out. What? She wasn't sure just yet but she learned a long time ago that just a bit of creativity could turn anything into a weapon. They didn't had much time and she needed to improvise. A plan started to form in her head. This is a bad idea. Terrible. Since when do you have so many of those? a little voice in her head kept whispering. You know you're alone. Don't fool yourself. She just pushed it aside. If I don't do this no one is getting out she reasoned with herself. And you're probably going cray cray Nyrea, arguing with yourself like that. So when her hands found two smoke grenade she couldn't help the nervous laugh.

She took a deep breath before starting to speak "So this is how it's going to happen. The exit is next door to our left. I need you all to start running the moment I tell you to. If there's guards there, and there will be, throw this" she pressed one of the smoke bombs to Lair's hand "find the others, don't look back just keep running. I'll be right behind you." she spoke everything as fast as she could while maintaining a calm facade, but she could feel her heart racing. Really bad idea. But she needed them to agree to it, they didn't have time to argue. Turning to Foster now, she took of the necklace, her hand closing around the moon, feeling the surge of mana coming from one of the crystals. She lowered her voice and pressed the pendant to one of his hands. "I can track this. Don't lose it or I'll have to punish you" she gave him a smile with that last phrase.

Without any more warning she stepped back from the group, grabbed the bag and opened the door. "RUN!"

Foster
Foster let out an audible sigh of relief as he shrugged back into his long woolen coat. The familiar weight and sensation of the garment embraced his shoulders and he relaxed immediately. A light pressure on the small of his back confirmed that the mechanism he had spent so long installing was still there... now, for the important part. Reverently, he picked up his rifle, sling and all, and patted the stock. Hey, baby.

The strap went over his shoulder. He guided the leather along the small of his back until he felt, rather than heard, a tiny click.

The others were talking excitedly. Just another second...

He picked up a bag of mechanical odds and ends and poured it into a compartment of his ammo satchel, much like a child would his wooden toys. One particular long piece of brass he kept in his hand, slipping it into his boot as he put them on. As he straightened up and turned back to the rest of the group, Nyrea was announcing her plan. He was leaning more towards "hare-brained" than "sound" on the details, but once he caught the determined look on the thief's face he figured that there wasn't any way he was going to talk her out of it.

Suddenly, she was right in front of him. How does she do that? She spoke quickly, but softly, as she pressed something into his hands.
"...don't lose it or I'll have to punish you," she said with a smile.
Foster grinned crookedly at that. "You're a terror, Nyrea. You know that?" Internally, of course, his brain had broken down at trying to decipher exactly what she meant by it. As everyone got ready to run like hell, he shoved thoughts of punishment out of his mind, tucking the pendant into a pocket deep within his coat and moving for the door.

Nelee
She had decided, sometime after the rain began, that she didn't really care for flying.

She had refused to leave the deck, though, until finally, blessedly, the airship put into port at Redvale. Now, as thunder boomed overhead, she decided that a few extra coins were in order for the good captain that had brought them in at such an opportune time. She couldn't imagine what lightning would do to such a vessel.

Nel went smoothly down the gangplank, cane rhythmically tapping the wood. She went to great effort to disguise the discomfort that walking brought her. Behind her came Seeker, his bulk in turn causing him difficulty in traversing the narrow bridge between the ship and solid ground. The thunder crashed again, causing him to dance in apprehension and give a loud snort. She immediately rushed to his side, her heart bleeding in sympathy for him. The journey had been particularly hard on her most loyal friend.

She turned to regard the captain of the airship, listening intently and with a small, warm smile as he bowed once, twice, and then began to thank her for the privilege of bringing her along, heaping on apologies for the weather at every turn. She placed his extra compensation firmly in his hands, her smile widening. And to think, this dear friend of mine began our voyage together by calling me a yarn-spinning whore.

A quick word of farewell, and she set off across the remarkably empty dockside area towards the city proper, Seeker's reins in hand. Time to get out of this rain...

Silas scoffed. He did his research. "I read about how much Ari paid you to fight the orc army with him. 5,000 gold to stop helping the orcs and another 70,000 gold for the Titan of Death, more than he got as payment for helping Bailey lead the army to victory. There's no way in hell I'm willing to believe that he'll chump change you for such a valuable item." When accounted for inflation, Ari effectively paid him the IRL equivalent of $750,000. That was Cross ALONE. "I don't know him though. You can talk to him when you give him the item. I heard he got a lot more humble after the war with the orcs, seeing as to how his wife and his companion died in it." Silas nodded. That was all. "Good luck in your journey. Fair Winds." Toby walked into the cave and pulled out one of his Aether Arrows. It glowed naturally in the cave, illuminating the cave a bit more. "If those kids are here, I would assume they met their premature fates at whatever is in here," Toby muttered. The cave was damp, cramped, dark and narrow. The smell emanated from this wasn't a good one. It wasn't death, just............unpleasant. Whatever though. Monsters to kill. Kids to save. "If the dire wolves aren't a natural occurrence here, something here has upset the forest's magic." That complicated things even more, but it did keep him open to using that crazy ring to augment his offensive power.

Silas O'Vera

Silas smelled something behind a tree. Something far unlike anything he's smelled in this forest. That told him that it wasn't a human, nor a native to the forest. Could very well be a spy. He drew his sword, unleashing the signature howl, and swung it towards that tree, releasing the powerful Sonic Bark at the tree. Since Sound Waves go through diffraction, something small like a tree wouldn't really do much in terms of defense. A hit would surely daze her. Silas intended to reveal who it was without doing any lasting damage but also without endangering his pack.

Rose took Elaina by the waist and kissed her softly, holding her close and rubbing her back, gently. She was very much enraptured by Eliana, wanting to spend every moment with her. She broke the kiss as she heard Joseph’s call and blushed, running her hands through her hair. She held Eliana’s hand and walked back over to her horse, patting him gently and mounting, ready to get back on the road. He was still a little on the nervous side, the wolves around them unsettled him but he felt safer since Rose was relaxed.

"And good luck to you Werewolf. If there are hunters you run into give em hell for me." Cross walked into the Carriage waiting for Eliana and Rose. "So Joseph what's our next plan of action. I have to give this to Ari Waesmor. But at the end of the day your job comes first. I am not thrilled to meet the guy again. We did not part on the best terms, not enemies but... Just not on the best terms. It'll be awkward I bet. Uh sorry, what is the plan?"

Alex listened to the two speak, and he grinned at the idea of lunch when Raven brought it up. Alex gave a response of, "A drink? No, I've had some wine earlier today, but I would gladly take the opportunity for some food. I don't come to Redvale often, and it's hard to do business with a bunch of lightning. Do you have any ideas on where to go Sir.... and Miss...." Alex trailed off addressing Raven and Saia asking their names. He wanted to know their names just in case, experience has taught him remembering names was very important in his profession. Everything from common customers to larger clients must be known if one is to navigate around all the webs of the merchant world.

Lawrence "Raven" Vlax
Location: Dulph Woodlands (Outside Redvale)
Interactions: Tobias ( Kylesar1 Kylesar1 )

Lawrence nodded to the statement as Tobius and "Raven" entered the cave. With an Aethereal arrow lighting the immediate vicinity, Lawrence had his little flame explore the cave. He groaned as they went deeper in. No bones were appearing and neither was any corpse goop caused by the feeding of a Goliath. The Puss Toads didn't live in caves, so he counted that a little luck, but it was unpleasant in the cave. It was almost as if a dark force was sitting in it. One thing Lawrence hated more than anything in caves was the unknown. The unknown had caused his hate for caves, and the fact that nothing known to him was appearing. No scent of death that signed predatory life was here. The cave was also surprisingly deep, the air was quickly growing cold and the entrance was slowly disappearing behind them.

"I don't think we'll find anything here...and I don't want to stick around to find out what is in here..." Lawrence said as he began to walk slowly to a halt. His flame came back to him and he began hovering it around and around to look for ANYTHING unusual. "Look for something, I'm not sticking around in caves too long. What we should be looking for wouldn't live this far in." Even if the Goliath Spider was a mother, it would be guarding its clutch and would still hunt regularly. They could lay a hundred eggs, and most young don't survive as they will often fall prey to other larger predators.

Fiona covered her ears and yelped in pain which sent her stumbling down. She looked around and her face turned pale realising the forms staring at her. This just got out of hand. Werewolves, she had been encroaching on Werewolf territory. She tried to get up and run, but a few growled and she realized she was caved in. She looked at the one who had issued the loud bark that stunned her and nervously smiled. What the hell was she going to say? Her face was twisted with terror.

"Look...I don't want trouble. I...I was just investigating the area for someone." Her tail was tucking around her waist in a defensive positions and her ears were slanted down. Fiona had no idea what to say, but the mere presence of the werewolves made her shiver and she yelled, "I-I was following the trails of a carriage! T-That one there!" Fiona pointed towards the carriage the seemingly human party was in. Finally getting her words out, Fiona sat down on her knees and hugged her tail. Now what was going to happen? She had no idea what would happen. She had heard tales of werewolves, so all she knew was what the mass public might know.

Zak Schrodinger
Location: Redvale - Ports - Or Anywhere

Zak noticed an airship land into port. What in the name of all hell was a ship doing in this weather? He watched a woman disembark it, likely the passenger and hire since no one else was getting off yet. He watched as she tapped the cane to the ground and pull her horse along. Zak thought for a moment. Whoever this was, they might be interesting.

"Good Day, it's quite some nasty weather to be flying. What's your business in Redvale?" Zak asked to try and start up a conversation. Just as he finished lightning struck again and was close enough to start shaking the earth.
