Ezekiel Finch, Theophilus Sharpe, and Ravi Akuna (and also the Smith Clan)

Theo leaned back, his palms flat on the grassy pavement as he watched. How long would they go? Should they let them keep going? Maybe this was good for them. If they started to pay attention to who the other was, they might not always be so oppositional towards each other. Ezekiel narrowed his eyes at the answer to his question. “Community.” This was a bit of an attack. If the wolves were only together because they wanted to fight, he would make it clear that this was not their sole purpose. “She guides us to live. You wander aimlessly in search of a fight. How is that supposed to make you better?”

He would be remiss if not to admit to himself that the moment Luke moved away, Ravi was disappointed. Or maybe the more accurate word was saddened. He liked having him so close. Again, this was his own doing. He was the one who said they should probably continue the walk. Well, he insinuated it, and it was true. He doubted he would be able to handle another kiss like that. Even if that was what he wanted. That was so new to him. He walked alongside Luke with a whole new perspective now. “Why do you call me Sunshine?” Immediately he added, “I know you sort of explained it already, but… um… I don’t really, uh, get it.”

Alex shifted so he was sitting crisscross on the ground, hands in his lap. Humming a little, he listened to the two men. Kaiden saw those narrowed eyes and sat back, leaning on one hand. “Community.” He repeated, watching Ezekiel with a keen gaze. “We do not go searching aimlessly for a fight. We have a community in our stadium. Families, children. We merely fight to survive now, when before we fought for our freedom.” Kaiden’s voice was more rougher than he’d intended it to be. His gaze searching the man before him.

As they walked beside each other, Luke heard his words. “Well. Ravi means Sun and you are sunshine to me. My uh father was big into name origins, and he had these books that he’d collected. My name means light bringing actually.” He explained as they moved. “I can show you the books sometime if you’d like.” Luke offered, smiling warmly at Ravi as they came to the hotel. Inside was Erin, Keith, and a couple others. They were stationed at the hotel. “Hey guys.” Luke said as he headed inside with Ravi.

Though Ezekiel had by no means looked relaxed prior to this, he certainly was not now. Theo sighed. It was only a matter of time before this devolved into something less nice than it was before. Ezekiel’s arms and shoulders seemed to tighten. “Do you?” He let that sit between them. Festering. “Is your fight really for survival?” Theo tensed wondering if this was when they should intervene. He did not want to cut them off when this could potentially go well, but it already had the makings of going poorly.

Ravi means sun. Oh. He didn’t know that. He never thought about himself like a sun. Luke on the other hand most definitely felt like a light bringer. Ravi’s entire world changed the moment Luke came in it. “Yeah. That would be… neat.” Inside there were people. He was not sure why he was not expecting this, but, of course, he wasn’t. “Luke!” Another one of the guys waved from afar. His name was Quinn. “What are you doing out here? And who’s that with you?”

Kaiden could see that tightening in the Seraphite’s arms and shoulders as he watched him with a sharp brown gaze. He bit his lip a little before he nodded. “When your group keeps attacking ours, I’d call that fighting for survival.” Kai said, shifting and sitting up, arms crossed over his chest. Alex watched the two and let out soft sigh. “Should we intervene?” Alex whispered to Theo. He wasn’t sure if they should or not. It was a tough call for sure. He watched the two with an observant gaze.

Luke smiled as he nodded his head. “Awesome. I can’t wait to show you.” Luke replied as he smiled happily. When they got inside, he heard his name and looked over at Quinn. “Hey! I was just out for a walk with my new..” Luke paused, he wasn’t sure if Ravi was his partner or if they were just really good friends. He looked at Ravi, biting his lip before he figured he’d go with it. “My new partner Ravi. Ravi this is Erin, Quinn, Keith and Leon.” He said, hoping to introduce him to some of the people Luke called friends.

Theo was not sure how to answer that question. It was good to know that Alex was wondering the same thing as him though. Ezekiel stood. “Yes. It is our fault.” His words only barely held back the anger. Theo groaned. “Come on guys, don’t be like this… We were doing so great…” Ezekiel ignored him completely as he so often did. Outside of these moments, it was not Theo’s fault. He also ignored Alex. “Not yours. Your group could not be at fault for wanting to take land we have claimed.”

Partner. Were they partners? This morning, Ravi woke up with maybe a new friend. Yesterday morning, he was just the same Ravi. Today, he had a partner. He only had time to looked towards Luke before Quinn was walking over and nodding. “Hey, that’s cool. I’m trying to get one myself.” He turned back around and winked towards the group before plopping down on one of the couches. “So, taking a walk to the Serevena.” He raised both arms. “Nice. What’s your plan now that you’ve infiltrated our domain?”

Kaiden stood when Ezekiel did, arms crossed over his chest. He looked slightly up and into his eyes. He ignored Theo as well and Alex sighed heavily. “Guys..” He said but it was to no avail. Kaiden narrowed his eyes as he looked at Ezekiel. “We had that land first, you have your island, why do you need our land here? Do you not have enough that you feel you need to take our land?” Kaiden huffed as he stood there. “We had most of the mainland and you’ve tried to take it from us so we just took it back. That is survival.”

Luke would talk to Ravi once they were alone. He shook his head at Quinn’s antics though he saw Leon blush a little at the wink. He’d always had a crush on Quinn but was too terrified to say it. Luke looked at Quinn and shrugged. “I was thinking I’d show him around and then walk downtown and check that out. Maybe see the old checkpoint too.” Luke said with a smile on his face. “So how long do they have you guys posted here?”

Theo groaned like a child who did not get his way. “Noooo don’t do it.” Ezekiel, ignoring the words of their companions, took a large step forward so that he and Kaiden were close to being in the same space. Theo looked at Alex and tossed up his hands. Ezekiel kept his arms crossed. “Do you know that?” he snarled. He did not move his eyes from those brown ones. Their gazes seemed to be forever locked together. “Do you know that we took your land first? Are you certain of your history?”

“Ooh, romantic.” Quinn spread his arms out on the top of the furniture and sat with his legs spread. There was no decency anymore. “Mm, we aren’t here much longer. Been out here like a week or something. Gets kinda boring but the company’s nice. Took out a couple a runners yesterday. Don’t know where they’re coming from, so be careful when you’re out there.” Ravi was so shocked by hearing this that he could not help but interject. “They keep you guys out here for that long?” He looked at the handful of people around and then at Luke. “Is that normal?”

Alex sighed and shook his head. “Be prepared to stop this.” He said, knowing he might have to jump in and break them apart. He saw those hands tossed up and turned to face Kai and Ezekiel. Kaiden’s brown eyes didn’t leave Ezekiel’s gaze as he heard those snarled words. A flash of unsure and confusion swept through his eyes before they hardened again. “I’m sure of our history, and that your group took our land.” He said adamantly, and he took a step closer to Ezekiel, their chests inches apart.

“I’m very romantic.” Luke grinned as he looked at Quinn. “I’m sure the company’s nice. Been here a week and you still don’t have a partner? Picky are ya?” He asked with a smirk. “And thanks for the heads up. I took out a runner on the way here.” Luke added before he looked at Ravi. “Yeah. That’s fairly normal. I know it’s weird but a week is kind of short. I’ve seen them post people up places for two weeks or more.” He said as he looked back at Quinn. “Maybe we’ll find the source of the runners when we head out there, and if we do, we’ll grab you and get rid of it.”

Theo did not want to be prepared for that. He wanted to have a nice time with his friends getting to know everyone and the bizarre ways that he did not understand. It was going so nicely too. You know, for them. His eyes briefly darted back towards the parking garage they saw them in earlier. Would their group come after them soon? He watched the two once more and realized now they were closer. Ezekiel did not flinch or budge. They spent so much of their time in each other’s spaces like this. “How can you be so sure? Were you there?” He doubted it. “Or is that something your dad told you?”

Quinn sighed. “That’s ‘cuz no one will come join me on this couch.” He ran a hand over it. “Guess I’m destined to be all alone.” He laughed. “Well, you two have fun out there. And we are so down to help you clear ‘em out if you find the nest ‘r whatever’s goin’ on out there.” Ravi was still reeling from one week being short. “Or more?” He asked. “Where do they station you for more?” He looked back at the others like somehow that would explain all of this to him. It didn’t. They seemed like they were entirely used to this.

Alex looked back at the parking garage too. He promised Hannah they’d be back soon. But the determination of how soon was getting blurred. He had hoped maybe they’d meet up, talk and head back. And now here they were, getting into it again. Kaiden didn’t move as he looked at Ezekiel. His mouth thinned as he glared at the Seraphite. “Leave my dad out of this.” He growled low, his eyes flashed in anger. It had been what he’d been told because he was young when they’d created the WLF. “It doesn’t matter how I know. I just do.”

Leon had been sidling closer when he heard Quinn and took this chance while the other was talking. “I’ll join you Quinn.” He said as Luke chuckled. “There ya go! Now you’ve got a partner. But we’ll get out of your hair.” He said with a smile as he turned to lead Ravi away. “Well. I overheard Jerry the other day tell Isaac that he wanted to station my new group, with my family, at the TV station for a month. Apparently there’s been a lot of Scars in the area and he wants us to stay there to remind them that we’re around.” Luke explained as he led Ravi through the lobby and to the stairs to show the upstairs of the hotel off.

There were many things that Ezekiel wished that he could say, but he knew that their time was running short. The longer he continued this infuriating conversation, the more likely that he was going to yet again shirk his responsibilities as leader of this group. He raised a hand to the side, stopping Theo who was moving towards them now. It effectively cut off Theo’s words too. Ezekiel still stared into these eyes that thought they understood this. “You don’t. Ask him again how this war started.” With every fiber of his willpower, he swiftly pulled away, arm cutting across Kaiden’s chest, and stalked away. He pushed his chin over his shoulder. “I suggest you leave before we find you.”

Ravi watched Leon join Quinn, and Quinn flop his arm over his shoulder. “Thanks for setting us up, guys!” He waved and Ravi waved back until he really listened to the words coming from Luke as they began to move upstairs. “A month!” He did not mean to sound so loud or alarmed, but he was not expecting for that to be something that could be happening. “That’s so long! And horribly dangerous!” All that composure he thought that he had was very quickly deteriorating.

Kaiden glanced at Theo, seeing him coming over and then his attention went back to Ezekiel. He didn’t? What didn’t he know? This was certainly going to be a conversation he wanted to have with his dad. “I will.” He said, short and sweet as he felt the arm cut across him. “We’re leaving. See you in a few days.” Kaiden said, aiming to talk to his dad before they spoke again. He had a feeling that what he was told was incorrect. Alex watched them and when Ezekiel turned, he gave Theo a quick hug. “See you soon!” He called, waving to them. He moved after his older brother. Kaiden didn’t move a muscle as he watched the two Seraphites head off. “Come on Theo.”

Leon was more than happy to settle against Quinn’s side as he waved. Luke heard that loud and alarmed sentence and looked at Ravi. “It’s dangerous if you aren’t trained, but we work well together. But it’s okay. We’ll be fine. And unfortunately I think Issac might overrule Hayden on sending all of us too.” Luke said as he looked at Ravi. “But we’ll be okay. I promised that before and I’ll keep that promise.”

Well that took a turn quickly. Theo returned Alex’s hug, calling out, “Very soon hopefully! Maybe we can do… not this next time?” He turned to look at Kaiden as their Seraphite counterparts disappeared. “Yeah?” He sighed as he thought about what must be going on in his brother’s head. “So are you gonna tell me what just happened or do I need to tell you what it looked like, ‘cause it did not look pretty. It looked really bad actually. What happened to nice asking questions and being civil? And don’t tell me that he started it, because it wouldn’t have mattered if you weren’t itching to do something.”

Ezekiel was silent and swift as they returned to the parking garage. He had nothing to say nor did he have anything that he wanted to do. He was not in the mood for the rest of this pointless patrol. Upon their return, they were of course met by their group who were anxiously awaiting their report on what happened out there. Hannah was visibly nervous. “We did the rest of the route. Some demons but otherwise not much like we thought it would be. Are there more coming?”

“Luke!” Ravi could not keep himself from being a bit hysterical. “You’re going to have to go for a whole month?” There were so many parts of this that Ravi very much disliked. One, whether they were trained or not, that sounded incredibly dangerous. Two, that sounded like this decision potentially would come with a fight between Isaac and Hayden. Three, Ravi only just got him. He was supposed to lose him now? Luke was an incredibly good shot, but that did not change the fact that even if he and the rest of them were going to be okay, it was still a whole month. Ravi would have to pretend like none of this ever happened. Like he was back to boring Ravi who was too awkward to talk to anyone. No more light bringing.

Kaiden felt his entire body deflate like a balloon as he looked at Theo. "I know it looked bad, but I can't help it. He just.. gets me so worked up. I can't.. help it." He said softly as he turned to head back towards the stadium. It was drawing close to dinner time. "I've never met someone so.. infuriating before and I was trying to be civil at first. We should move, I don't want to be late tonight."

Alex simply followed after his brother, silent as he looked back at the two wolves. When they got back, Alex moved to Hannah's side and heard her question. He shook his head. "No, it was clear." He said, nodding his head as he smiled at her. "We're all safe here." He added as he looked over at Ezekiel. He couldn't help but wonder what was going through his brother's head.

Like looked at Ravi, hearing his words and how they sounded hysterical. "I know Ravi. I'm sorry. It's just part of the job." Luke said but he stopped them and pulled Ravi to his chest. "Look at me. This, what's between us, is real and when I come back. I'll sweep you off your feet and we'll spend all day together even if you're working. I'll help you. Like I did yesterday. Okay?" He asked, as he kissed Ravi's forehead gently.

“Worked up?” Theo shook his head as they started moving back towards the stadium. “Brother, he sets you on fire like no one else has ever done. Brian doesn’t even set you off as much, and you literally shoved him into the wall yesterday.” Granted, there was no wall shoving this time. It was close, though. The real difference was that Brian could never take Kaiden. Ezekiel could. Theo did not want to see that fight. It felt like every time they were with these guys, they drew closer and closer to that inevitable battle between them.

Ezekiel spent that entire journey back preparing to become the leader he was supposed to be for them. He nodded respectfully towards Alex as he answered. Hannah pushed her hands on her hips. “Are you sure? That was loud. It could attract-“ “Hannah.” Ezekiel’s tone was soft but still held authority. “Though I appreciate your concern, please trust that Alex and I made sure that the source brings no threat to us.” A flash of Kaiden’s face, hard and close to his own, covered his vision as he spoke. “We should return to the island. We have all done well today.” He and several others began to leave. Hannah felt like something was off, something like how Ezekiel was before they left, and wondered if maybe she was seeing something that was not there.

Ravi’s breathing had begun to rapidly move from relatively normal to so fast that it was going to cause problems with the rest of his bodily functions. He held his breath as Luke pulled him to his chest, and almost immediately, he felt the rising anxiety start to quell. Okay. He could see Luke staying with him the moment they got back. They could be in the back rooms cleaning up whatever mess Ravi made. They could test out more of the weapons. It was going to be okay. “O-okay.” He took in a deep breath and pulled away. He nodded and tried to smile. “Okay.”

Kai paused a step before he continued on and sighed. Set him on fire. That was a pretty good descriptive for what happens between them. Fire burning that felt like barely controlled hate or intense dislike. Yet there was something about Ezekiel that just drew Kai in. And he knew that if they chose to fight, it would be a good fight. Both men were strong but Kai wasn’t sure who’d win in their battle. “I don’t know Theo. And the worst part is that I was kind of.. I don’t know.. enjoying the interaction? Having someone who can match me? It’s intense yet.. it keeps drawing me in. I guess.” Kaiden admitted as he looked at Theo as they neared the stadium.

Alex looked at Hannah then at Ezekiel. What happened flashed in his mind but he kept quiet. His gaze turned downward as he listened to them. When Ezekiel turned to leave, he held his hand out for Hannah. “Come on. Let’s head back. I’ve got a tree to climb. Would you .. wanna watch?” Alex asked softly as he looked at Hannah, smiling at her warmly.

Luke smiled at Ravi, and felt him pull away. He looked outside and then at him. “I think this was a successful walk. Want to head back? It’s a lot closer to dinner than I thought it was.” Luke asked with a small smile on his face. He took Ravi’s hand so they could turn and head back downstairs. He didn’t like the idea of being away from Ravi either but it was his duty, his job.

Now that was unexpected. As they moved through the streets, drawing nearer to their destination, Theo looked at Kaiden like he was crazy. “You enjoy that?” He could not see anything that he thought could possibly be fun in that interaction. He tried to think about how going toe to toe and just about ready for blows would be enjoyable. Kai always did have a fiery kind of personality. Maybe having someone who would not easily back down would be fun for him? Maybe having something that intense was also fun for him? “You’re crazy, I swear.” He laughed as they moved.

Ezekiel did not wait for Alex. He did not wait for anyone. Thankfully, enough were following that the group followed too. His mind was not with the rest of them. It was back in the streets where he played a battle of the wits with the only other person who had ever been so close to besting him. Hannah was still worried, but since neither of them seemed too worried, she decided that this was something she did not quite understand and should not worry about. She took his hand though she raised her brows. “You are climbing a tree? Sure, I guess. I am not certain I understand the significance.” She smiled too, trying to push aside the sudden flutter in her stomach that came from him wanting her to stay around even after they returned.

Ravi was overwhelmed. He was emotionally taxed. They should go back for dinner, though that would mean an end to their walk, and it was kind of sad. He moved down the stairs quietly with Luke, unsure how to express how he was feeling. Downstairs, Quinn was the first to call to their attention. He still had an arm around Leon’s shoulders. He was taking an extended break from the monotony of being stationed here. “Leaving so fast? Here I was thinking you guys enjoyed our company.”

Kaiden blinked as he looked at Theo, hearing him. He couldn't believe that was what he enjoyed, but it made sense. He'd inherited his father's temper, whether he liked it or not and so perhaps that part of him called and was drawn to Ezekiel. It was weird, and even he didn't understand it completely so he looked at Theo. "Yeah. I am crazy. And you love me anyway. Hey, I've got an idea. Tag!" He said, laughing as he gently tapped Theo's arm and took off towards the stadium.

Alex looked at Hannah as she took his hand and he chuckled softly. "Well, you see. Yara and Lily, don't believe that I can climb the tallest tree on the island and make it back down safely. So I have to prove it of course and climb it in front of them." Alex said, he was very proud of his archery and climbing skills, and he couldn't help but want to show off for her. It was weird and unknown but it was something inside him.

Luke knew they should be heading back, and he could sense that Ravi seemed overwhelmed, if the quiet was any indicator. He looked at Ravi as they headed downstairs and he looked at Quinn. Leon was quite content where he was happily. "We need to get back for dinner. You know how Uncle Hayden is about dinner with the family." Luke said with a chuckle and a grin as he squeezed Ravi's hand so they could head out of the hotel.

Theo’s eyes widened. This was also unexpected. So many unexpected things. “No fair!” He ran after Kai, laughing as he moved. He tried to muster all of his energy so that he could catch up. In short bursts, he could. He closed in fast, his hand flying out to tag Kai’s arm as he flew past him. There was no way he could keep this up for long, so he had to hope it was enough to get to the stadium. He thought about Kaiden and the bizarre that was him with Ezekiel, and for a moment, as he sped away from his brother, it almost made sense. Almost. Of course, that did not stay long. His brain dropped it quickly as he ran.

Hannah smiled as she tried to understand this strange predicament of his. “The tallest tree? But that’s…” She could imagine the tall trees on their island, and it seemed like far too much for anyone to climb easily. They moved quickly across the mainland and soon were in the island. “Well now I may understand them. You can’t do that.” She did not believe that anyone had those kinds of skills. She was also curious as to how Alex planned to prove this.

Ravi stayed quiet as they walked through the bottom floor and towards the door. Quinn shrugged. “Yeah, I know how he is. Wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of that guy?” He waved before turning his head to whisper something in Leon’s ear that Ravi couldn’t hear. They made their way out of the hotel and into the open world once more. Huh it was later now. He had not noticed. Time felt different when he was with Luke. Nothing felt as linear as it used to when he was alone. That meant it was going to go back to how it was when Luke had to go. He really was not liking this idea. It was easier before he felt this way.

Kaiden laughed as he ran, looking back at his brother though he wasn't expecting to be tagged quite so quickly. "Hey!" He laughed as he took off after Theo. He ran quickly after Theo, though he could see the gate up ahead of them. He laughed as he lost steam, taking deep breaths as he ran towards the gate. He slowed down, panting lightly. "Alright! You win brother." Kaiden gasped as he slowed down to a walk at the gate itself and looked at Theo.

Alex looked at her and grinned, hearing her words. "I can do that, because I've done it before. Granted I hurt myself when I went down but. I know I can do it without injury." Alex said with a smile as they made it on the island. "Come on! They're waiting for us at the tree." Alex said, pulling at her hand gently before he paused. He walked up to Ezekiel's side. "Are we dismissed brother?" Alex asked softly as he looked up at him.

Luke nodded as he heard Quinn's words and chuckled a little as he waved. Leon laughed as he heard the whisper but even Luke couldn't make it out. He looked at Ravi once they were outside and squeezed his hand. "Talk to me Sunshine. How are you feeling? Was this too much for you?" Luke asked, smiling at him warmly, softly. He was enjoying this time with Ravi, a lot He was kind of upset now that he'd met Ravi that he'd be going away for a month, or possibly more.

Theo was always excited when he won a race with Kai. It did not happen often, but occasionally he could balance out Kaiden’s speed with his inordinate amount of energy. He was whooping, hollering, and cheering as they reached the gate. “Haha!” He pointed to Nikki at the gate. “You see that? I’m the winner!” His pant was significantly more than Kai’s though. He slowed as they moved inside and finally relented and had to stop to catch his breath. “All hail to your king,” he exclaimed. “Think we can get anyone else to call me king?” Finally he was able to move inside again so they could turn their weapons back in.

Ezekiel was lost in his own thoughts again, so when Alex was suddenly at his side, he blinked in surprise. “Hm? Oh. Yes. You’re dismissed.” Hannah grinned excitedly as they began to move away. “Alex.” Ezekiel interrupted them. “Prove to them that they should all be ashamed for doubting you.” He smiled at him, his first genuine smile since probably that morning when he found Alex with his friends. Then he turned away and left. Hannah was left unsure what to think. “I’m telling you. It is cool to have him on your side like that. Okay. So are we going to the tree or do we need to go get them first?”

The moment they were out the doors, Ravi relaxed. It was a subconscious effort. He was always better when he was on his own and he was even better when he was only with Luke. Other people took a lot of his energy and effort. He looked at Luke and smiled. It was tiny because it was real. “It’s… a lot,” he admitted. “I wasn’t ready to… um… find you, I guess.” He looked down, knowing that he was saying this all wrong. “And then lose you. And I know you aren’t going to be gone forever! I just…” He had to work up for the last words. “I really like being around you. I’ve never felt that way with anyone. Ever.

Kaiden knew that Theo didn't often win a race against him, but he wasn't exactly.. in a racing mood no matter how he tried. "Yes brother. You are the winner." Kai said, panting softly as he looked at Nikki and shook his head. Kaiden bit his lip as he laughed. "I doubt anyone else will call you king. I will once. Hail to King Theo." Kaiden said with a small bow as they entered the ammunitions section and checked their weapons back in. He was hungry and tired at this point as he looked at Theo.

Alex looked at him and smiled as he nodded excitedly but as he went to turn, he looked back. "Of course!" He said, grinning wide as he nodded, seeing that genuine smile. He turned and looked at Hannah. "I know, he's pretty cool. As for that? We're heading right to the tree. Yara and Lily will meet us there." He said as he turned to lead the way to the tree with a big smile on his face. He couldn't wait to prove that he could climb the tallest tree.

Luke smiled as he saw that tiny smile, though it felt real to him. He listened to him, and while it sounded bad, he understood completely. "I wasn't prepared to find you either, and you aren't losing me. I promise that I'll be back to sweep you into my arms. I promise that you'll have me forevermore." He said as he squeezed the hand he held. "I really like being around you too. This is a new feeling to me as well." Luke added as they neared the stadium.

King Theo was all he ever wanted to be in that exact moment. It made him feel like he was achieving something. Today it was being faster than Kai. Granted, Kai seemed preoccupied with what just happened out there, so that could have been why he won. He would take it. “Thank you. Thank you.” He turned in his weapons alongside Kaiden before moving out in to the hall. “Man, I feel like today was a crazy day. Like we didn’t do a whole lot but we did? I don’t even know.”

Hannah followed after him with a giggle. She had no idea what she was about to follow him to see. Was it just climbing a tree? Was it going to be three silly kids doing silly things? Was it going to be a serious competition? She didn’t know and she was excited to be included. She was flattered that Alex wanted her around more. “Are your friends going to be okay with me joining?” That was a bit strange for her, especially since she knew she would be older than them.

Ravi, though still overwhelmed and a little upset that everything was going to temporarily end, felt better now. He looked at the stadium not like the place he now happened to be at but more like a place that could have something for him. Could have Luke. “That’s… I don’t believe that.” He almost laughed as they reached the stadium. “You’re so… um… personable? How can you not have felt this before?” It seemed unreal that of all people, Ravi was the one who could do that for Luke.

Kaiden rolled his eyes as he chuckled and turned his own weapons in. He followed Theo out into the hall to head for dinner. “We defiantly did a bit of both I think. There were some good moments and some not so good moments. But I think we accomplished more than we think.” He replied as they made it to the cafeteria doors and Kaiden pulled it open, wondering if they’d be first or if his fathers would be there already.

Alex looked at Hannah and nodded. “They’ll be more than happy to have you join us.” Alex said, nodding his head. He looked up ahead to see the tallest tree on the island and lounging underneath it was Lily and Yara. Yara saw them first and started waving. “See?” Alex said as he led Hannah closer. “Hi guys! This is Hannah. Hannah this is Lily and Yara.”

As they reached the stadium, Luke smiled. “I may be personable but I haven’t met anyone like you before.” Luke said as they walked into the ammunitions section so they could turn in their weapons. “Though we need to talk. Do you mind if we let people know we’re.. partners? Mostly my family honestly.” Luke asked, looking at Ravi with that same warm smile on his face.

As they made their way into the cafeteria, Theo clearly could see Hayden and Josh already there. It did not look like they had been there very long. They had yet to split so that Josh could grab the meals. Theo took this chance to wave and scream, “Hey!” Hayden looked over with a smile that grew across his face that would never have let anyone guess how he was feeling. He waved as well.

Hannah was nervous about meeting Alex’s friends. By nature of the island, everyone sort of knew about everyone, but that did not mean that you knew them all personally. With Yara and Lily, Hannah knew who they were from afar. She tentatively waved. “Hi. Hannah. I’m in Alex’s group. I hope you don’t mind me tagging along. I want to see this tree climbing feat.”

Ravi handed over Rodney the weapons, smiling and answering his questions before they were finally able to walk away and into the hall towards the cafeteria. Partners. He had not forgotten about it, though it had not stayed as the number one thing on his mind. Being partners mattered a whole lot less when suddenly the other person was gone. “Um… no?” That came out sounding like he was unsure. He didn’t want it to sound like he did not want this. “It’s.. a bit weird. Is it weird? That might just be me. I make things weird.” He puffed out a breath as he reminded himself that breathing was in fact important.
