Feel free to code your sheets as long as you include all the required parts on the template and a plaintext spoiler (just in case the code breaks or doesn't work for mobile users). You can add whatever extras you want to you CS, and you can have up to two characters. Remember that at least one character must be allied to and travelling with the main group (this character does not have to be a phoenix), and all characters must be linked to the main group in some way. If you want to make your secondary character a phoenix hunter, then DM me with your basic character concept before posting your CS. I'll be picking 3-6 people for the rp at the end of January 29th (PST), so make sure to get your CSs done before then!

Note: You can add whatever extras you would like to the CS

Name: Peter Rilenhou
Nicknames/Aliases: Pete, Petey (this nickname annoys him immensely), Pip, Pipsqueak
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Preferred Pronouns: He/Him

Wing-Type: Inactivated Phoenix Swift
Wingspan: 12ft (3.7m)
Height: 5'1" (154cm)
Physical Description:
Peter has short black hair that sits in a unkempt pile atop his head (on occasion, he'll try to comb it with his fingers, but this is usually because it's getting in his eyes rather than for the sake of appearance). His eyes are dark brown. Pete has skin that is golden-ish in color, tanned from many days spent out in the sun flying messages back and forth. A loose scattering of freckles dot his face, arms, and legs (they're more prevalent on areas that get more sun). He has a small chip on one of his front teeth that is often visible when he smiles. He is fairly thin and boney.
Peter's wings look like a common swift's (at least they do before their activation). They are a warm brown in color, and his flight feathers (the ones farthest from the shoulder) are lighter than the ones closer to his shoulders. On the inner side of his wings, his feathers are a creamy-white with some brown speckling that grows darker and more clustered toward the ends of his wings. As with most swifts, his wings are a thin, less curved half-moon shape. They have a tidy look, as Peter takes extremely good care of them (always removing damaged feathers, preening them to make sure they stay optimal for flight, etc). A spray of dark brown feathers spread away from the spot where his wings connect with his back, stopping before they reach his lower-back or crest the top of his shoulders.
When his wings are activated, the shape will stay the same, however the coloration will change to a vibrant red-orange that grows lighter toward the tips. His flight feathers will be more of a yellow-orange. Each feather will gain a glossy sheen to it that makes it appear almost golden or bronze-y. In the dark, they appear to glow slightly.

Abilities:
- Fire Manipulation: Peter can create and control fire. Of course, this being a new-found ability, it's difficult for him. It's easier to create when he feels particularly excited, angry, or other such intense emotions, but also more difficult to control in these situations. His feathers and wings are impervious to fire, however the rest of his body is not. One of the easiest things for him to do with this ability is set his wings on fire, however he has to be careful that he doesn't burn himself. Making fire is more difficult when he is cold.

- Rebirth: If Peter is killed, then he will revive within a day and revert back to the state he was in when he was activated with his memories intact. This usually leaves him weak and tired for around a week afterward, but it this can go on for a month depending on how much energy it took to reverse his death. The only way to permanently kill a him is to remove his wings, otherwise prevent him from using the magical energy within them, or make him use up all of his magical energy without giving him time to replenish it.

Flight-Type: Like most swifts, Peter's strength is speedy, sustained flight in large, open spaces. To take off, he requires that his wings have plenty of open space. Theoretically, Peter should be good at sharp turns and be at least somewhat agile in the air, but (likely due to a combination of recklessness and clumsiness) he isn't at all good with quick maneuvers. He is much better with long, soaring flights.

Personality: Peter is very easily likened to the fire which he produces. Temperamental and destructive. He is an impatient risk-taker that rarely stops to think before jumping into his next scheme. While this does often land him in trouble, it also comes in handy when getting himself out of said trouble (no time to consider the best option when the Guard is on your tail). This, of course, is not to say he comes out of every scam unscathed (though he sometimes acts like it). His overconfidence isn't earned, but he's lived this long and that's about the same thing in his eyes. Peter's recklessness translates into more than petty theft, though. He's quick to trust anyone who shows him so much as an ounce of loyalty. Once his easily gained friendship is earned, he'll do nearly anything for you, regardless of how it affects him. It takes an immense amount of mistreatment for him to finally give up on a person (and even then, there's a high chance he'd be more upset with himself than the other person).
His impatience and impulsivity is in part due to a thirst for something new and exciting. He's spent countless hours watching the airships come and go at the docks. Even the Kingdom of Amethyst's ever-changing novelties aren't enough for him. He needs something he can't find there. He's not sure what yet, but he's itching to find out. Still, Peter would never leave without a very good reason. In his phrasing, he's got things to take care of here.
Short-temper and constant daydreaming aside, he does have his redeeming qualities. His reckless loyalty makes for a friend that will always have your back. Stupid things said after someone accidentally stumbles onto one of his sore-spots are always made up for in one way or another. His optimism -while sometimes annoying- can be a nice uplift on a rough day. Peter is determined to give his all (which often consists of risky plans, deceit, and mischief, but that's proven to be enough in many situations). He refuses to cause any unnecessary harm for his own benefit (for his friends... well that's a different story).

Likes: Stargazing, pirate stories, pranks, flying fast, hugs (he won't admit this one)
Dislikes: Monotony, slow walkers, slow talkers, staying still

History: Peter's parents, Teresa and her husband, were both farm-hands out on one of the many outer islands. Due to a disease within the crops, the person who owned the farm lost their livelihood, and the farm-hands had to leave because of this. Without any income or place to stay, they managed to construct a house (more of a shack, really) on one of the lower tiers of the mainland. His father managed to snag a job at the docks loading and unloading cargo -which put food on the table, but not enough to support a family. When Peter's mother became pregnant with him, his father took off on the next airship and hasn't been seen by his family since.
Though she provided food and shelter (more the latter than the former), Teresa wanted little else to do with Peter after that ordeal. For the most part, she worked the loom and tailored clothes and left him to wander. As long he didn't stay out long enough for her to think he'd run away too (somewhere within three days), she didn't much care. He grew up constantly trying to make up for it by bringing home food and money in whatever ways he could (primarily scams, pickpocketing, and other seedier schemes). Eventually he found a more legal source of income in being a messenger.

Name: Luca Graymin
Nicknames/Aliases: Gray
Age: 36 (Appears 24)
Gender: Male
Preferred Pronouns: He/Him

Wing-Type: Activated Phoenix Dragonfly
Wingspan: 7ft (2.16m)
Height: 6'1" (184cm)
Physical Description: Gray is a tall, lanky man with skin that's so pale that one might assume that he's ill. The deep bags under his eyes don't help this. Though he appears to be twenty-four, the large number of grey hairs peppered across his otherwise jet-black suggests something beyond that. A short and scraggly beard adorns his face with it's hairs similarly greyed. He has hazel green eyes and chapped lips that are almost always drawn into a scowl. He has small scars that are somehow paler than the rest of his skin scattered across his arms and a larger, gash-shaped one on his forehead.
His wings are mostly translucent with markings near the base and middle that mimic a common whitetail dragonfly's. Unlike the wings of that species, his markings are a bright red-orange color that is extremely reflective and tends to gleam like gold in the sunlight. The clear parts of his wings have a slight red tinting and often reflect more reds, yellows, and oranges than any other colors. When flying in direct light, this makes him almost difficult to look at, and extremely noticeable. They also glow slightly in the dark. A small patch of scale-like, crimson skin runs down his spine and expands slightly on the edges to form an oval shape on his back.

Abilities:
- Heat Absorption: Gray can take heat from around him through touch and use it as energy for himself. He could live without food for quite a while as long as he has fuel for a fire and water (presumably, he would eventually die due to lacking certain vitamins, but -lucky for him- that's impermanent). While he doesn't necessarily need to absorb heat to live, he's gotten used to the energy boost, and on cold days he is noticeably more tired. If he absorbs too much energy, his skin will become hot enough to burn and the heat will be rapidly released in a large wave (he cannot do this unless he has an extreme amount of excess heat).

- Fire Resistance: Luca is extremely hard to burn. He's not completely invulnerable, but -generally speaking- if he were to stick his hand in a fire for a few seconds, he'd be alright.

- Rebirth: If a Gray is killed, then he will revive within a day and revert back to the state he was in when he was activated (24, large scrape on forehead, various smaller puncture wounds on his arm and chest, various bruises) with his memories intact. This usually leaves him weak and tired for around a week afterward, but it this can go on for a month depending on how much energy it took to reverse his death. The only way to permanently kill him is to remove his wings, otherwise prevent him from using the magical energy within them, or make him use up all of his magical energy without giving him time to replenish it.

Flight-Type: Luca is fairly quick, but covering any significant distance takes preparation (he needs to have a lot of energy stored up). He can outmaneuver almost anyone in the sky, being able to take off almost instantly, rapidly change directions, and fly backwards or upside-down.

Personality: Luca was never the whim-driven type. He was always a bit slow and methodical. This tendency has only grown in his twelve years on the run, resulting in what some might describe as a paranoia when it comes to planning his next move. Because of this, he is constantly absorbed with navigation charts, trade routes, and storm patterns. Paranoia or not, his thoroughness is what's kept him free for this long (if a life dictated by perpetual terror at being discovered and forced loneliness can be called free).
Gray would describe himself as a coward and a flake. He refuses to rely on anyone else, and in return expects no one to rely on him. He is completely honest about being a dishonest man, sometimes going out of his way to display himself as seedy and rude simply to drive off anyone who gets too curious. That being said, he does have a heart. Luca couldn't turn away from helping someone if he tried (and he has). Guilt piles on rapidly and, much to his own displeasure, he finds himself feeding stray cats and offering an ill farmhand a free healing tincture here and there.
Though he has his moments of kindness, they are not without begrudging groans and muttered complaints. Luca is a pessimist, and he let's everyone know this. He has a habit of giving up before even making an attempt. Gray is also extremely stubborn and tends to hold a grudge. Pity will influence his actions somewhat, but rarely his words. He is not one to apologize easily, even when he is clearly the one in the wrong. He is terrible with cooperation and communication.

Likes: Potionmaking, science, routine, cats
Dislikes: Surprises, spicy foods, clinginess

History: Luca was born lucky. His family was composed of wealthy merchants that owned a fleet of airships and a shipping business, he was a prodigy when it came to alchemy (something he had a passion for), and they could afford the necessary components and education for him to pursue this interest. Luca spent his younger days studying beneath various tutors and masters in this field. Every moment of every day was spent learning and experimenting. He was halfway through an apprenticeship when a carelessly placed candle caused the laboratory he worked in to explode. This was when his wings activated.
Luca had heard the stories about phoenixes. Their rarity and value was well known. Though he wasn't at the time aware of how activation worked, he quickly realized he needed to get moving. He stole an airship and took off, never to be seen by his family again (he was presumed dead in the explosion). Ever since, he's been travelling across the world (much to his own chagrin). He moves from place to place every month or so, and is continuing his studies to the best of his abilities. His most recent stop has been at the Kingdom of Amethyst, where he is hitching a ride to save fuel and selling pesticides to the local farmers.

Name: Emaliah Belle Rousseau
Nicknames/Aliases: Em, Emmy
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Preferred Pronouns: She/Her

Wing-Type: Unactivated Phoenix Butterfly
Wingspan: 8 ft.
Height: 5'4
Physical Description: Emaliah's looks are the envy of every girl she meets, and rightfully so, with her blue doe eyes, Cupid bow lips, and a stunning figure. Her gorgeous, golden curls shimmer down her back to her waist, accenting the yellow sections of her butterfly wings. Her wings resemble those of the Common Birdwing, with big, black forewings underscored by striking yellow hindwings, both speckled around their edges with contrasting colors. She takes exceptional care of her body, since it is one of her most prized treasures.
ETA: When activated, Emaliah's black forewings flare up into a breathtaking, cardinal red, spotted with yellow. Her yellow hindwings gain some red speckling toward the edges, and her wings elongate into sharper tips. She falls in love with them at first sight.

Abilities:
- Rebirth: If Emaliah is killed, then she will revive within a day and revert back to the state she was in when she was activated with her memories intact. This usually leaves her weak and tired for around a week afterward, but this can go on for a month depending on how much energy it took to reverse her death. The only way to permanently kill her is to remove her wings, otherwise prevent her from using the magical energy within her, or make her use up all of her magical energy without giving her time to replenish it.
- Pyromancy: When looking into a fire, Emaliah can see her future. The further she looks, though, the blurrier the images appear, so she can only be confident of her divinations up to 3 days in the future. Also, she can see no one's future but her own.

Flight-Type: As the daughter of a noble, Emaliah has taken flight classes as well as aerial dance classes. She excels in flying with grace and beauty, manipulating her way through the air with ease. She's not very fast, however, since all of her focus is put into the intricacies of looking pretty and elegant.

Personality: Emaliah is easy to love and easy to hate. Growing up in a privileged household, she picked up several talents from the dozens of classes her parents enrolled her in. She can knit, cook, bake, dance, sing, draw, and entertain. Noble guests love her - at least the men do. But many of the women, young and old alike, are quick to be envious of Emaliah's looks and skills. And Emaliah doesn't always help matters when she tends to be overconfident, stubborn, or a bit of a show-off. Despite her parents' wealth, Emaliah is actually quite sheltered from the rest of the world in her grounded kingdom of Gildaneth and often believes there is no one better than she is. She's undeniably charming and talented, but only until her arrogance shows. When things don't go her way, she'll throw a tantrum.

Likes: Shopping, the color yellow, aerial dancing, entertaining guests
Dislikes: Losing, being alone, not getting what she wants, being ignored
History: Emaliah was raised (spoiled) by Duke William Bryce Rousseau II, a noble of the grounded kingdom of Gildaneth known for their topaz trade. Her mother passed away when she was born. She grew up sheltered, as most dwellers do, and was led to believe that no one can beat her in terms of beauty and talent - especially in dancing. When she finally turns 18, her father promises to take her to the Kingdom of Amethyst for her birthday. He has some business with the nobles of the kingdom. When their floating island comes around, Emaliah is ecstatic to finally go out into the world for the first time. She visits a spa, a makeup salon, a hairstylist, and a theater. Then her father leaves her for his business meeting, and she makes her way to the Diamond Plaza.

((Completely willing to alter any of this lol-- been a while since I've rped))

Name: Harlow Seaver
Nicknames/Aliases: often goes by her last name
Age: 20
Gender: female
Preferred Pronouns: she/her

Wing-Type: Inactivated phoenix gull
Wingspan: 10 ft
Height: 5’3”
Physical Description: Harlow is on the shorter side with a bit of a stocky build, with a broad smile and close cropped dark hair. Her skin is a light brown and her eyes are almost black. Before activation, Harlow’s wings are not much to look at. They are much the same as a herring gull’s, slate-grey, black wingtips slightly speckled with white. Once activated, they will grow in size and turn a dark red with yellow wingtips, spotted black.

Faceclaim: ((I tried ¯\_(ツ)_/¯))
harlowinactivated1.pngharlowactivated3.png

Wings:
herring-gull-9383-base.jpg

Abilities:
  • Rebirth
  • Spontaneous Combustion: Harlow can cause herself to burst into flames without causing any harm to herself. Once she gets good at it, she can specify which body parts will set on fire (*cough*burning hands*cough*)

Flight-Type: Harlow’s greatest strength in flight is her endurance. She’s not very elegant, nor is she the fastest, but her wings will keep going even after quicker and fancier flyers have stopped for breath. Not to say she is slow, but she prefers to pace herself and maximize her energy, taking advantage of thermals and other wind patterns.

Personality: Harlow is brash and friendly, but don’t mistake that for trustworthy or honest. She’s been looking out for herself for a while now, and that will always be her first instinct, not that you’d think so from her behavior. Irreverent and arrogant to the point of it being dangerous, she finds trouble wherever she goes, which means she doesn’t tend to stay in one place very long. While she can be the life of the party, she doesn’t let anyone close enough to actually know her. Irresponsible and a bit of a hedon, Harlow does what she feels like and leaves the place a mess. Known for being blunt and occasionally crude, she doesn’t tend to show much restraint.
Likes: taverns, a good chase, messing with people, sailing, a hot meal, brawling
Dislikes: being looked down on, rules, being stuck in one place, tea, consequences

History: Harlow was born in a small farming village to parents who already had too many children. She quickly grew bored working on the farm, so when a group of traveling merchants came through town, she saw her chance, running away, no goodbyes, no looking back. Young Harlow earned her keep helping the merchants display, transport, and maintain their wares. That is, until one night when the group was attacked by bandits! Recognizing there was no winning against the bandits, Harlow appealed to let her join them instead. Amused by the girl, the leader acquiesced, figuring she wouldn’t last very long anyway. He was right, in a way. A few months after joining the bandits and gaining their trust, she took off on them with the spoils of the previous night’s raid. Since then, Harlow hasn’t stopped running. Stowing away on a ship led to an encounter with pirates, from whom she learned how to sail as well as curse ferociously, but she didn’t stay long there either. From place to place Harlow ran, loving it (nearly) the entire time. She never stayed somewhere long enough to get caught, never made plans, and never made friends.

Name:
Tempest Rosalia Brekkr
Nicknames/Aliases:
Rose
Age:
17
Gender:
Female
Preferred Pronouns:
She/Her
Wing-Type:
Inctivated Phoenix Raven
Wingspan:
6.5 Feet
Height:
5’5
Physical Description:
Tempest is on the slimmer side and built with lean muscle, she has obsidian-black hair with a small silver streak running through that falls down to her lower back in loose curls. She has full lips, wide light grey eyes, and light olive skin with a light smattering of freckles across her slim face and small nose. Her inactivated wings are also obsidian black with falcon feathers, but when they are activated they have streaks of shimmering silver and blue and when they catch the light they look almost like blue flames.
Abilities:
- Smoke Illusion: When people inhale a silver smoke Tempest conjures, they begin to hear, see, feel, taste, and smell what Tempest wants them to as if it was real (she can’t so anything else with this smoke, it is just for inhalation). Tempest can use this ability without becoming drained and on more than one person at a time; however, when using this ability on more than one person or for extended time periods, she cannot move from the place she’s in, making her defenseless.
-Healing Fire: Tempest can use her blue flames to heal others. However, using this ability takes a lot of her energy and drains her physically and mentally, and she begins to feel people’s pain while healing them, often leaving her unable to fully heal large wounds. She cannot use this ability on herself.
-Rebirth: When Tempest dies it takes her about a day to revert back to the state she was in before she died. However, when she gains consciousness again, she cannot remember the hours to even days leading up to her death and her mind is filled with confusion. She is also left weak for a week or more and can’t fly or use her abilities for a few days or more after she comes back.

Flight-Type:
Tempest has basic flying abilities. She’s not the quickest and she does not have the most endurance, but she is balanced in all areas of flying. Her main strength in flying is her ability to maneuver around obstacles in her way by quickly retracting and expanding her wings as needed to get through places with many obstacles like a city with cramped buildings or a forest with many trees.

Personality:
Tempest is a picturesque example of calm, cool, and collected. So much so that she comes across as disinterested and cold to most of the people she meets. She does not really react to situations and makes every decision with level-headed logic. She is very honest and is not afraid to deliver brutal honesty when the situation calls for it. She mostly lets others do the talking and would rather observe and analyze from a bit of a distance. Though she highly values honesty, Tempest is also not afraid to manipulate people to get what she wants. When she needs to, she can exude a charming charisma that changes with each person she talks to. She has a soft spot for helpless people and animals and tries to help them whenever she can, even if it’s not in her best interests. It is hard to get tempest to fully trust or even like you, but when she does, she is loyal to the bitter end for you.
Likes:
Chess, pickpocketing, books, traveling, tea and coffee, independence
Dislikes:
Dishonesty, ignorance, staying in one place for too long, people taking advantage of her, fighting
History:
Tempest grew up modestly with her grandpa in the Kingdom Amethyst for the first few years of her childhood. When her grandpa died when she was 8, she was moved into one of the orphanages in the kingdom. It was a horrible place with abusive caretakers and malnourished children. Not only were th caretakers awful, but so were the kids. If you didn't't know how to defend yourself, other kids would steal your food and other belongings, this allowed Tempest to be learn to fight in order to defend herself and other weaker kids. Most of the time, the kids were sold by the orphanages to various people in the kingdom and beyond. When she was 12 this was going to happen to her too. Before it could, she escaped the orphanage in the middle of the night and went on the run. From here she learned how to pickpocket from people and steal from marketplaces to stay alive and learned how to manipulate people into giving her what she wanted. She sometimes used her illusions to aid in both of these skills, allowing her to get better control of her ability. For a few years she continued this lifestyle and would move from various islands around the kingdom of Amethyst. When she was 16, however, she attempted to steal a book from a bookstore in the Kingdom of Amethyst’s Diamond Plaza. The owner, a woman named Vasilissa, caught her and offered her a job at the store and a place to stay if Tempest agreed not to steal from her store or others as long as she was there. Surprised by the woman’s kindness and suspicious that it was a trick, Tempest agreed anyways and has been living and working there since, Vasilissa becoming a sort of older-sister figure for her in the meantime.

(I'm down to remove or change anything :))

Name: Juniper Penna
Nicknames/Aliases: Jun
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Preferred Pronouns: She/her

Wing-Type: Non-phoenix Bee-eater
Wingspan: 3 metres (9' 10")
Height: 163 cm (5' 4")

Physical Description: Juniper is quite thin and sleek young woman, with clean white skin. He had light brown eyes, long, blonde hair that she mostly let loose, but will also tied up in ponytail in some occation. Her wings are long, with sharp tip, carmine red in color, with black edge along the feather's tips. She like wearing attire that suit her liking and active lifestyle and doesn't care much for fashion or decency. Her favorite are trousers with long sleeved shirt, with jacket and boots.
Faceclaim:
hong-soonsang-the-seaking-contest-runa.jpg

(Wing appearance)
c5b83765e0d15501d1e13911b619dc1e.jpg

Abilities:
- Tailwind: An ability that allow her to generate wind to propel her wings, allowing her to fly significantly faster. While this ability is activated, she will be immune to any air disturbance as she can simply cut through even in the middle of a raging storm. However, the ability will drain her power and she could get easily exhausted if she activates it too long.

Flight-Type: Juniper is all about speed and agility in open space. She can perform magnificent acrobatic movement, spin and roll, dive and change direction almost in an instant mid-air. However, her endurance is quite low, and due to her speed, she would have harder time navigating tight and crowded space like in dense forest or narrow canyon.

Personality: Typically, Juniper is a very cheerful and optimistic person. Always trying to bright up the environment around herself and other people. She likes goes out for for any shenanigan life has to offer and meet up with people, also taking challenge and going on adventure. She is relentless in her task and rarely gives up until she can achieve her goal. Jun can also be bold, sometimes reckless in her decision and has quite low patience. She however can be sensitive and she doesn't like to be open about it, often keeping any negative feeling enclosed and pretending that everything is fine even if deep down, it might be shaking her to the core.

Juniper like children and animals and always finds herself good and comfortable around them.

Likes: Stories, Adventure, Music, Dancing, Animals, Children, Jokes and puns, Her family
Dislikes: Losing loved ones, Failing task, Confinement, Betrayal, Silence, Showing negative emotion

History: Juniper was once a single daughter of a couple of innkeepers in Diamond Plaza. She lost her mother when she was only 5 years old. Her widowed father raised her by himself for a year, then remarried to a man, a soldier serving the Kingdom of Amethyst. Juniper's stepfather also was a widowed and has a son of his own names Merlin, who was 5 years older than Juniper. The 2 family joined into one and even though Juniper still misses her mother dearly, she is quite content with her new stepfather and stepbrother, especially the latter who she quickly bonded with. Both of them grew up together just as a pair of blooded siblings would. They help Jun's father out around the inn and gather around Merlin's father whenever he has a chance off his shift and listen to story about his work and trip he had been to, accompanying the nobles. This inspired the two to one day become adventurer and they would set out to see the world together.

Juniper wasn't born to become a phoenix... But her stepbrother Merlin was. One day an accident occur in the form of an explosion of the inn's boiler. Merlin covered Juniper to protect her from the flame that spread, had accidentally had his wings burnt and activated his phoenix form. After cleaning up the place, the entire family discussed how they would do with Merlin's newly gained form. Hearing from how phoenixes are wanted by many factions, the family tried their best to cover Merlin's form up and hid it as a secret. Thing was going as planned... Until one night, a group of hooded people broke into the inn. They immediately captured Merlin, revealing his identity and took him away. The family tried to stop them but it ended in Jun's stepfather gravely wounded. Jun was scared and worried about how her stepbrother would end up... Seeing both of her fathers moped in sorrow, one of them was at risk of being crippled his entire life, the girl made up her mind... An attempt for her to go out and save Merlin... Or at least retrieving any part of him if it's already too late...

Name: Lan Clementine
Age: 21
Gender: Boy
Preferred Pronouns: He/Him

Wing-Type: Inactivated Phoenix Owl
Wingspan: 4 1/2 ft
Height: 5'2
Physical Description:
Lan is a little guy; with thin shoulders and small hands exaggerated by the baggy clothing he wares- he's often mistaken for a kid, or girl by strangers (much to his own distaste ). Sadly large eyes , a high-scratchy voice, and stunted wings don't help much in convincing people otherwise. His brash personality is his last bit of hope.
His hair is earthen brown, just long enough for a small pony tail, and well cared for. In fact most things about Lan are well kept if you study them for a moment, from his neatly ironed button up shirts, to the well groomed feathers on his too-short wings. The cleanliness seems out of place coupled with his resting frown and foul mouth. Vibrant honey gold eyes that complement the deep brown color of his wings peek out from beneath his hair.
The wings themselves are not a solid color. Similar to a spotted owl, they are a deep chocolate color, with patches of lighter brown here and there- pale spots run up the length of his feathers. They are reminiscent of a new born deer in both color, and underdevelopment.
After activation the Deep brown will lighten to a soft gold- similar to his eyes, and the pale spots will become flecks of ember white. Not too flashy, and possibly mistaken for average wings if the viewer doesn't notice the hazy glow around them.

Face Claim:
Lan.png
(+ Activated Version )
Lan pheonix .png
Abilities:

Rebirth: Hasn't died yet, but if he does it luckily wont be for long- unless you take off his wings. Does not wish to test his luck.

Healing Tears: Though he sucks at it even after he finds out it exists; In theory Lan's glowing tears can be used as a near instant cure for illness, fatigue, starvation, and even serious injuries. Now if he could just figure out how to make the healing tears instead of the regular ones... ( Healing tears can only be shed when Lan truly wants to save someone he holds dear. ) The tears will take effect as soon as they touch any living being that is not Lan, they will not loose their power until activated, and Lan can not use them to heal himself.

Flight-Type: Bad. Due to childhood illness, the growth of his wings has been majorly stunted. He's a slow flier, and will get winded after just 10 minuets of leisurely flight. After half an hour of it he'll fall asleep as soon as his feet hit the ground. He can get some short bursts of speed out of them though ( ex. If you scare him, he will shoot up a few feet- very quickly ), he mainly uses his wings for propulsion while on the ground- flying only a few yards at a time.

Personality: Lan is a busy person, if he doesn't have something to do- he'll find it, and if he cant- he'll make it. Typically his day starts at 5 AM on the dot and ends at midnight. The entire time is split pretty evenly between chores, work, and doing favors for random folks in town; the latter making him generally well liked despite his abrasive way of communicating. A lack of charisma being made up for by his good nature.
He is possibly the rudest sweet-heart most people will meet in their life times. Lan will insult you in the same breath he offers you something to eat, and then play it off like the gift was part of the insult. His favors are never given with the expectation of compensation, and If you talk to him more than once he will drop everything to come help you.
That being said- the boy has a quite a few issues with whether or not he can actually help anyone at all. A lifetime of falling behind the flock in both health, and literal flight have left him with crippling self doubt that he manifests in the form of self deprecating humor and an occasional hissy fit. By far his greatest flaw however, is his lag time; be it a life or death situation, or helping an old lady carry her bags- Lan will hesitate just long enough to think " can I even do this? ". The answer is often "no", but he's still really quick to jump to that conclusion.
Most importantly though; even when failing others scares him more than death- he genuinely just wants to help people.
On a lighter note, if you mention his height or wings often enough you can speed run right on to his " friends but enemies " list.

Likes: Cooking, Cleaning, Violin, and Too Big Clothes
Dislikes: Sleeping, doing nothing, and his wings.

History: Born to an upper middle class family in the Mainland, Lan's mother was the owner of a newly prospering silk shop- and his father a well known musician. Despite the lack of monetary struggles in their family, both parents were too busy with Lan's four other siblings to bother with the youngest, always sick in bed. So he spent most of his time alone in his own room- he was the only one who had their own room- maybe his parents wanted him to die in there without bothering his brothers, or maybe they thought whatever he had was contagious. Lan didn't know, he was 12 and didn't want to think too hard in it. At least he could spend his time how he wanted; teaching himself from old text books, and practicing on his dad's busted up violin. He might have been paranoid, but he could swear they were disappointed when he finally got better, and started coming out more often.
He didn't like resenting his parents absent figures, or his sibling's fully grown wings, or the way so many years of his own life were just... gone. Instead of sticking around he got a job as a local merchant's assistant and moved out as soon as possible- leaving his past alone to never be thought about or brought up again.

Name: Arias Kadoshi
Nicknames/Aliases:
-Arii
-Flame
-Bird
-Sev

Age: 14, bordering 15
Gender: Nonbinary
Preferred Pronouns: They/them

Wing-Type: Phoenix Draconic; long and sharp with a thicker cartilage support near the elbow that reaches all the way to the ground and then some. The membrane ends a few vertebrae up from their tailbone.

Wingspan: ~13.5 ft
Height: 5'9"
Physical Description:

Tall and lanky with the general vibe of a displeased stork, Arias' general impression is "Tall angry thing", which is actually quite accurate. Their eyes are gold with catlike pupils and a bright yellow ring around the edge. Dark circles that makes one think sleep is optional tend to rest under their eyes no matter if they've slept or not. They look as if they run off spite and spite alone, especially with their habit of baring their—admittedly long and pointy—teeth at people.

Usually found wearing a plain red or black shirt, black jeans, and running around barefoot like an absolute heathen, "Flame", as they are often called, has no style. Or, rather, they do, it's just that it's plain, and they absolutely do not care. If they absolutely must, they could be persuaded to wear nicer (read: not stained, torn, or otherwise in disrepair) clothes that look similar to the rest of their apparel and an overdress with an open fronted skirt.

The gold stripes on their wings glow faintly, as well as some of the skin under their scales.

They have few scars, and most are faded, but one stands out against their skin, slightly red and shaped like a mini explosion. Because it was a mini explosion. This one sits between their collarbones.

Faceclaim: I'll draw them (more) later.

View attachment FoTP!Flame&Jet.png

Abilities:

-Rebirth: (c'mon you guys know what this does)

-Kerosene flame: Flame can breathe(more like spit)—very little—fire that shares many similarities with an iodine-dyed kerosene blaze. They can only do a little at a time, and it isn't very hot. The only real issue for people they use it on... or things, I guess, is that it sticks and tends to not want to come off. Your best chance is to stifle the fire in wet dirt or submerge yourself in water and pray it fizzles out. The clothing is ruined, though. Very much ruined.

-Mild fire resistance: Flame can resist most small fires, having quite a habit of walking through them due to both their wings' draconic nature and their phoenix abilities. They can still be burned, yes, but those burns tend to fade quickly and not scar, though they did realize they could, in fact, get burned when they were playing with flammable materials and... sort-of blew their workspace up, resulting in a burn scar on their chest.

Flight-Type:

Flame's wings bear similarity to that of the Mexican free-tailed bat; fast and agile with shit for stamina and a bit of trouble taking off. Flame, when given ample room, can turn on dimes and reach truly frightening speeds at the expense of large amounts of energy and an inability to glide for long. With the adaptability of their wings (wingfingers are great) and skill in the air with sharp turns, most have no hope of keeping up with them... evidenced by the fact that most of the races they enter, they either win or are hustling.

Personality:
Mostly, it can be summed up by the words "Look upon my field of which I grow my fucks and see that they are barren." Flame gives no shits. They hate people in general with few exceptions, they are a vicious racer and even scarier in day-to-day life, doing their best to radiate "fuck off" energy and generally succeeding. It doesn't help that they're usually covered in soot from attempting to make an explosive.

They're very closed off, not trusting anyone or anything with any information whatsoever because—honestly, they've had their fill of people in general. Their mild performance anxiety always has them refusing people's requests to do anything close up. The only thing they can do without fear is racing because of how fast they're always moving and how far away everyone else is.

Flame's racing persona, dubbed "Sev", is a grade-A bastard. They're cocky, rude, and know exactly how to get under other racers' skin. Sev is also part of Flame's defense mechanism; one of their walls while simultaneously being an offense against their own internal fears. Sev is confident; a mental barrier to keep Flame's anxiety at bay.

The only one spared from this pissy attitude—also the only one able to get Flame to do things—is Jet.

This sounds a lot like I'm contradicting myself, I know; I'm trying to explain it and failing miserably.

Here's a better one 1611784612482.png

Likes: Flammable things, racing, flying rings around people, scaring the living shit out of Jet, windsurfing, the dark.
Dislikes: Cold places and/or things, morning, afternoons, that one feeling at 4 in the morning when it feels like you're in the twilight zone, loud noises or scents, their pupils refusing to cooperate and walking around practically blind for the day.
History:

Flame was born to a couple of well-off merchants who decided "yeah, no, we don't want this" and proceeded to drop them off at a tiny mountain village near a lake. Flame had never been close to their parents, and honestly saw them more as DNA donors. Having never formed an emotional attachment, they weren't exactly beaten up about being dropped off, but they didn't really... like the thought of being under someone else's authority again.

So, they wandered around alone for a bit, hiding out in the forests for a time... a time being until they realized they didn't know how to hunt and their skinny ass wasn't going to survive in the woods alone.

So they took to stealing, filching anything of value or anything edible they could. They stayed that way for a month before they ran into a tall, imposing man by the name of "Jet Kadoshi" who—quite literally—picked them up by the scruff and hauled them off to get cleaned up because "I'm sure your parents would appreciate having their child returned without dirt and blood covering their face".

Well, there were no parents to be found.

So he took them in and—honestly—let them wreak havoc on his sleep-schedule, considering the fact that Flame slept only when they were drop-dead tired and tended to wake up in fits of nightmares.

They took to racing as soon as they learned to fly properly, learning how to make quick turns, speed up, read winds, and fly in turbulent areas. They developed their own style of movement, always maximizing air-time, even in tight spaces.

When, in the colder months, racing died down, they took to experimenting, messing with some of Jet's flammable materials for fun. They'd occasionally alight one of their wings, but they never got hurt too bad and after the first time—when their scales turned colors and started glowing faintly—it hurt even less.

Neither Jet, nor Flame knew they were a phoenix for the longest time, in fact, it was mere months ago, when hunters stopped by and started raising suspicious questions, which led to them both fleeing.

Name: Jet Kadoshi
Nicknames/Aliases:

-Doctor (title)
-Witch
-Arian
-Black (Black, as in Jet-black)

Age: 37
Gender: Male
Preferred Pronouns: He/him.

Wing-Type: Non-phoenix Tern.
Wingspan: ~34ft
Height: 7'6"
Physical Description:

If you thought Flame was tall, you're in for a treat when you check out the guy behind them desperately trying to keep them from killing themself or someone else. Tall and even storkier than Flame with wings that all-but drag on the ground, Jet is probably the most physically intimidating man you could ever see. He always wears dark clothing (because he's pale as all hell) and is rarely ever seen in anything but business formal and scrubs.

Feathers replace his hair in a crest, long, thin semiplume feathers usually laying flat across his head. More feathers make up the mantle along his shoulders and back, a few tracing his collarbone and intermingling with his flagged tertials. All of the feathers are a deep black with faint iridescence, taking coloration from his mother's side but form from his father's, black bird of paradise-style blue stripes adorning his primaries. in a similar way to that of a royal tern.

Startlingly blue eyes are contrasted by the soft black feathers lining his cheeks and ears.

Similarly to Flame, Jet has few scars, save the ones on his face, which trace his lower jaw bone and strike a straight line from the end of his nose all the way down his neck to end at his sternum.

Faceclaim:

Dorsal markings look more like this:

And why yes, I did put the wings—as primary limbs—above his shoulders.

Ignore the long ears.

And the weird feet xD

I'll draw him better, later.

Abilities:

-Taser: Jet can passively absorb and store electricity to be discharged later. Too much and he can make himself violently sick for a few days in exchange for, of course, a few hundred more volts over his normal threshold. (Note: extra electricity can only be stored for a few minutes).

Flight-Type: High aspect ratio passive gliding. Jet, having such large wings, can not only take off from a complete standstill, but can glide for days. However, this impacts his active flying and maneuverability quite a lot. He's decently fast, but if he were up against someone like Flame, he'd get thrashed instantly, due to only being able to make wide, sweeping turns. His feathers are waterproofed, though, but he's terrified of the water.

Personality:

Textbook INFJ-T.

Jet is most-often described as soft. He's polite, softspoken, and generally, very patient. If someone bumps into him, even if he was standing still, he apologizes. He's a people-pleaser. That being said, he is, by no means, a doormat. If he feels something is unjust, he's going to do his best to fix it, even if he is told not to. Granted, this perception is a bit blurred due to the fact that he holds his self-worth about as high as a candy-wrapper, which is to say, not at all.

Likes: Singing, dancing, working, plutonic physical contact, quiet, reading.
Dislikes: Watching Flame race (he has a heart-attack), water, sleeping, patients being conscious while he works.
History:

Jet was born to a middle-class family in a tiny, tiny town perched on a mountain bordering a lake. He was never really fit for the town; more interested in books and alchemy than fishing and diving. Through rigorous studying, he managed to get decently good at simple alchemy to help with healing. Study and hiding inside made up the better part of his childhood.

Of course, like all diving bird-winged people in the town, he was expected to fish or dive for oysters.

He was dumped with a moron of a boss, who pushed an amateur diver much harder than he should have been, and the waterproof oil-covering wore off. That day, Jet very nearly drowned, having been thrashed in the waves and repeatedly slammed against one of the rock cliffs. When the rescue team got to him, he was unconscious.

After a tedious recovery, Jet threw himself back into alchemy, far away from the lake, eventually getting a job at a fairly nice medical establishment, where incident two happened. Jet was a surgeon, specializing in the delicate spine/head area (in the time period this thing's set in, I assume it was something like picking shrapnel and growths out and such) due to his weirdly steady hands.

One of his patients came in with some form of mania, and halfway through the procedure (just a few, simple stitches), lunged for the scalpel Jet always keeps on his person, cutting him deeply across the face several times, which is how he ended up with his scars. This was just about when he decided to take on self defense.

This is also when he learned that he was really good at both self-defense and—oddly enough, poledancing.

He picked up both as hobbies because, even with the time it took to be in a field as demanding as he was in, he still had free-time he had no idea what to do with. This kept him in shape, even though he doesn't really show any muscle definition.

The comfortable routine was briefly interrupted when a tiny red ball of fury crash-landed into Jet's life.

Like any self-respecting (hA) concerned adult, Jet (very carefully, because Flame was trying to tear his arms a new one) brought them to the hospital to clean them up (because let's be honest, they're covered in dirt and blood) and ask around to see if anyone knew them. No one did, so Jet, after seeing if Flame would answer any of his questions about it (they did not), gave a mighty shrug and took them home so he could get some food in them.

With a "this is mine, now" attitude, Jet let Flame follow him around like a little red shadow as he worked, the largely nonverbal kid content to watch him work and occasionally chirp or hum questioningly.

This lasted a while, Flame gradually getting more and more used to speaking and Jet—seeing as he'd never gotten any name from them—called them "Flame" or "Bird" (due to their curious nature and the little chirping noises they liked making). They have not—and do not care to—shed these names.

After a while, Jet and Flame eventually moved out and are now in the process of getting resources in the Diamond Plaza to keep flying elsewhere.
