Orpha, naturally, was having a hard time assessing this whole situation. Even as Flower Boy here started to beg for her cooperation, her mind was still spinning with questions. Why was she chosen to save the world from some huge gods? Weren't they all tales? The whole Warriors of Light thing? It was all too weird for her.

Then, she saw the visions that the young man had brought up, squinting at the ruins wrought upon the landscape, and she felt an uneasiness settle in her stomach. The man's words didn't comfort her any more either as she shifted uneasily in her seat. Orpha was about to respond with something to the young man, probably with another question or some complaint, but he hadn't time to stick around and give heed to it. From the way the others followed him and looked at him so determinedly, they seemed to eager to follow Rose Boy along like on a little pilgrimage towards greatness. Orpha sat, a deep set frown having settled on her face.

"Oh, fuck it."
She finalised, before she shot up from her chair. She wrung the wrist of her mechanical hand, joining the merry band of what contained the man sprouting flowers, a boy flicking through the pages of a book that could break a person's skull, that blue haired man who had been snoozing in the corner, a rather cheerful swordsman, and a...fox with a guitar. Adding a crippled woman into the group just seemed to seal the deal. What the hell are you gods thinking? She wondered how the hell legends would fit all these details of rag-tag adventures in as she simply followed along. If they lived long enough to have legends of their own. Orpha followed along, a stream of thoughts fluttering throughout her mind as she wandered along.

It wasn't long before a new entity joined their party; a phantom, apparently guiding them along their way to their next destination. All the while, Orpha kept pinching herself, muttering that this had to be a dream, that this was-

Her thoughts were interrupted by the cheerful swordsman's enquiry as to the identities of all of them. Orpha blinked for a few moments, before she cleared her throat, trying to plaster on her best smile. She could at be positive about the situation, right? She could laugh all of this crazy, light, god mumbo-jumbo off, right? Wrong, but at least she could attempt all of that in the process. "Uh, Orpha. Orpha Breyer. Hailing all the way from Demarys..." She scratched the back of her head with a metal finger, chuckling in the process. She still felt a tension in her shoulders, one she would find hard to get rid for some time. Isryin Wardott
Forced into Defence
HP: 23%
The attack came, just as predicted, and Isryin had been more than ready for it. When the Phantom had swiped at her, the mercenary trainee had given her right leg a twist, allowing herself to 'fall' to the ground, left leg flexioned, right knee down, bringing one of her daggers up at the same time to shield her from the enemy's motion. Without wasting time, she brought the other hand back up, aiming the blade at the arm of the creature, hoping that it had to materialize part of itself to be able to do physical attacks, thus giving her a room to effectively hit it.

Ending up in a weird, bendy pose, Isryin would have wished to roll upwards and back, to arrange her posture but realized that she'd be unable to, muttering the words 'Too cramped.' under her breath, in mild frustration.

As if the strain on her back hadn't been bad already, her leg had decided to falter once the Graviga had hit the party. Suddenly drained of energy, the Pugilist's support had given off, causing her form to crumble forwards in a violent sitting motion. Her behind hit the floor with a 'thump' sound, but more importantly, she had just bumped into whoever was right next to her as well, maybe disrupting whatever they were planning. Without enough area to roll around, as the group was surrounded, Isryin now found herself on the ground, not on a very practical position to switch back into an offensive stance.

Bringing her weapons up, she braced herself for a next physical attack, mentally cursing her lack of maneuvering space and thus, limited available ducking repertoire.

Flaming The Phantom

Kupo!

Lucoco cursed her luck as her attack passed the phantom harmlessly. She rolled on the ground to stop her momentum and reaffirm her position. The phantom tried to counter attack with a claw attack, but Lucoco had her buckler ready to block the attack. She launched herself away to gave herself some distance and scanned the battlefield.

One of the phantom was attacking the expressionless girl, one was focusing on her and one was preparing to cast something. It's no good. They should all focusing on me! That's her job as the shield of the group!

She pulled a stone from her sack. Honestly, she didn't know whether her attack would connect or not since she rarely fight his kind of enemies before. The stone she just pulled was a pyra whetstone. A one-time use magical item that adventurers use to temporarily enchant their weapon with fire element. It's quiet pricey but useful against enemies with high physical resistance like the flan, everybody know it would take days to whack a flan to pieces with normal weapon.

She unsheathed her sabre and swiped the whetstone against it. The sword suddenly bursted in flame, some of the sparks got to Lucoco's hand and she took a moment to extinguish it.

"Bloody flame on my fur, kupo!" She looked at a small bald patch on her right hand. Looks ugly but at least it would grow back in a few days. Now back to the fight.

She calculated the positions of the trees on the battlefield. There's not much since they were near a pond, but those few trees would help her to counterattack. She braced herself when the graviga hit the party.

Endure it! Turns the pain into power! She repeat the words from one of her mentor in her mind to encourage herself.

Knee bent to accumulate her charging momentum and the flaming sword on her right hand. She waited a few seconds until she was ready. Her eyes lit with determination.

"CHARGE!!!"

She launched herself, not to the enemy but to one of the nearby tree. She collided with the tree but instead of stopped she used her limbs to bounce off from the tree. She bounced from tree to tree, each bounce adding more momentum and turned her into a burning wrecking ball that dashes around the battlefield. Ones could saw the tree was dented from the bounce impact and the moogle might be too. She just didn't show it.

"Get off kupo!!!"

The moogle already calculated the bounce trajectory, with this much momentum she should be able to hit all three phantoms in less than two seconds with her flaming sword.

One, two! One, two!

She bounced from a tree and changed her trajectory towards the phantom attacking Isyrin, the flaming sword wielded in front of her. She would then continue crashing into the other two phantoms if her movement wasn't interupted.

He proceeded to wave to the group and enter while the phantom led them. "So, where did you find these guys?" The phantom asked as Ventus responded with, "I found them at a tavern, all seperated." The phantom's eyes shine as he becomes more curious, "I see.." The group was disturbed by a loud noise, it sounded like a spell was cast or some kind of thing was bumping to the trees. The prophet closed his eyes as he saw a group of people trying to harm the faeries. He opened his eyes and requested, "Let's speed up, I wanna see what Lamia is doing right now." It probably was just a misunderstanding, they wouldn't harm child-looking creatures, right?

The group arrived at a lively village with a large woman standing in the middle. Ventus signals the others to bow as he proceeds to kneel and say, "Lady Lamia, I have found what Goddess Sylph has chosen for our adventure." The queen turns her head, her body looks like much of a woman with large amounts of feminine charm. A white cloth covered her body but, it had a small slit in the middle which exposed her chest slightly but it would make any man look at it in a flash. Flowers grew whenever she stepped on the ground as small particles of light flew around her. "I see. I am Lamia, the 27th queen of the Faeries. I am very glad to meet you." She takes a deep bow while she proceeds to smile, the queen has something that she wants to give to them. @GasMaskie Peppermint Patty Peppermint Patty @Grand General Skylord Nexus Skylord Nexus Arcanist Arcanist

As they'd been strolling through the mildly creepy woods, Fassad couldn't help but break his talkative streak- partly because there were just so many people to meet, and partly to take his mind off the darkness. His nose was catching whiffs of many things, as the woods weren't particularly empty. Most of the fellows all seemed so... Determined? Or maybe they too were thinking. Clearly, not everyone was on the same page. The fellow with the roses seemed to be kept in a conversation with the much cheerier, excitable one. Many of the others looked like they were likely mulling over whatever was going on, or knew what they were in for. The closest one to his pace of mind seemed to be the woman from earlier, who'd caught up to them at this point. She was acting more professional then other- perhaps he'd misjudged her as being drunk, she clearly hadn't been. In fact, thinking back on it, her reaction had probably been the most natural out of everyone. And so, on a whim, he drifted towards her, clanking about with his equipment, until he was walking about two feet adjacent to her.

"Uh- hi! Your name- it was Orpha, was it? Mine's Fassad, it's nice to meet you! How do you do?.."

Their conversation carried on until they'd arrived in a village with people bustling about this way and that. His words drifted off as they'd gotten there, his train of thought being drawn to the houses and just how many people lived there. Quite cozy honestly, they probably had just about any resources they needed here. Perhaps they'd be able to stock up here before leaving on whatever grand quest this rose boy had brought them along on... The deeper they got into the village, the more he picked up on a strong scent that he really couldn't get enough of- it smelled like any flower he could possibly think of, yet also wasn't overwhelming, and soon they reached the source of it- a regal-looking lady who'd been waiting for them. As the group was signaled to bow while the rose boy and her held their conversation, he awkwardly ducked, his instruments clanking a small bit. He'd never been in the presence of royalty, and thus didn't really know how to approach it... When was he supposed to stand back up? Just to be safe, he stayed down, listening to their conversation.

Varian found the village they were now in rather nice, it had an aesthetic which could only be found in places unravaged by other races, and he wondered in this was what the gods had in mind for there world when life was first created. This train of thought didn't get far though as his eyes fell on Queen. There was no denying the fact that she was beautiful, however what distracted the young male more were the flowers left in her wake as she walked, it was a sign she was likely well in touch with nature and magic.

He'd been so enamoured by the flowers he had completely missed Ventus' signal to bow. Once he realised that he was being rude, Varian became rather flustered and knelt down to the Queen, stammering as he spoke for a moment before regaining his usual chipper and optimistic composure

Orpha had expected them all to react to the loud noise that sounded nearby, but it seemed as if the boy with the flowers sticking out of every nook, cranny, and orifice of his was much more eager to get to his goddess. She tried to peer past through the trees to see what was going on, but the urging to keep moving forward didn't allow her much time to discern what was happening. Though, she found her thoughts weren't preoccupied with the sound for much longer, as one of the group had practically drifted to her side, looking to strike up conversation. Orpha had almost jumped at suddenly finding the fox beside her, but calmed somewhat after his request. She guessed conversation would help to keep her occupied.

"Oh, uh, yeah. Nice to meet you too, Fassad."
Orpha returned a smile, trying her best to keep it up on her face as a conversation started to slowly form between the two.

The conversation hadn't been stilted at all. The fox was a rather avid conversationalist, so even if there was the occasional awkward pause, it seemed Fassad had filled up the silence as quickly as it had appeared. Naturally, the two ended up in a conversation akin to 'how did we get here?', only, set on how they ended up in that tavern in the middle of nowhere. Fassad explained how his profession as a musician had brought him there, and Orpha explained how she was travelling on her way to meet a suppliers for her store back home. She had frowned in some thought in the middle of it. So much for a quick trip there and back again...

Before long, the group had come before a woman - much taller than any of them put together - in what seemed to be a village full of faeries and all sorts. She was the last to kneel before this larger woman, since she had been too busy twirling and laying her eyes on the other beings around them. Orpha had made a surprised, "Oh!" before she awkwardly landed on one knee, hoping that no one would notice her lateness in bowing down to her. Lamia, huh? She couldn't help but let her mind wander off in some thought. How could Faeries have so many queens? Isryin’s foe had been temporarily stunned by the flexible manoeuvre she had performed, and its long claw had been caught in one of the daggers put up for defence. It had been too distracted by the block to see the other dagger sweeping its way towards it. Though, the dagger didn’t do much damage as Lucoco’s buckler should have, since it only passed through the Phantom seamlessly, with barely a reaction coming from it.

Not long after the Graviga hit, the Phantom Isryin had been locked in battle with decided not to change its target. Instead, it went for another scratch towards the Puglist – but failed to notice her block and defence go up once again.

The Phantom that had previously cast Graviga had been circling the other three of the group – almost like it was taunting them, like prodding a stick at a Bugbear when it was clearly on the defence. It had paused after some time, ready to throw another attack at them, only to be caught in the Mog Knight’s whirlwind attack. Flames were caught up in the Phantoms’ visages as they were sent barrelling.

The first phantom that had gone for the Mog Knight seemed to writhe with the magical flames eating away at its visage, and after some moments, seemed to disappear completely, signalling its defeat.

The third Phantom, however, wasn’t to go down as easily as its companion was. Knowing that the Moogle was a threat – what with the magic she had just cast on her sword, dangerous to those like Phantoms – it made it no secret that she was its next target. With a droning wail, it moved towards the Moogle once again, intending on striking again with another scratch attack. Lucoco Chocoberry

Puncturing The Phantom

Lucoco spatted some blood on the ground as she readied herself for the phantom's next attack. The graviga and her previous stunt didn't left her unscatched, but she's still more than capable to handle one or two more enemies. Good thing for her one of the phantom seems to disappear, probably went back to whatever plane of existence they should belong, and the phantom in front of her was now fixated on her.

The phantom wailed and charged at her. Lucoco yelled her battle cry while raising her buckler and burning sword.

"KUPO!!"

The two exchanged several blows. Splatters of darkness and sparks of flame flew around them. Lucoco was focusing on blocking the scratch attacks with her buckler, trying to lull the phantom into an attacking pattern before-

"Kupoo!!" She blocked the next scratch attack, but instead of just blocking, she swung her buckler upward to threw the phantom's hand upward while sliding underneath it. She thrusted her flaming sword upward towards the bottom part of the phantom. Lucky that these phantom didn't had any legs that would block her slide.

HP: 23%
The 'tink' of the phantom's new attack hiting her daggers echoed, Isryin nodding at herself as the result had been exactly the one she had expected. No damage, but for how long would she be able to keep this game of cat and rat going? Surely the enemy was bound to get tired of being blocked all the time and try a diferent strategy, eventually... As a fully physical fighter, intangible creatures such as this were just a pain to deal with.

Luckily for the mercenary trainee, their Moogle integrand had a good idea, going at the attacker with a flaming sword, the type of magical damage that the phantoms wouldn't be able to simply phase through. Even better, one of them had faded in defeat after that hit, freeing up the space it had previously been occupying. The group wasn't surrounded anymore and the Pugilist finally had space to move freely as she liked.

Isryin had then proceeded to quickly put her weapons away, freeing up her hands for any sort of maneuver she had been about to pull. With her hand on the ground, the silver-haired girl launched her legs up high, for a moment standing up in a ship sail position, but soon launching herself up in the air for a backwards flip. Instead of finishing the flip, however, the girl had placed her right hand back on the floor and chained in a cartwheel into the motion. The idea that her movements could be taken as 'showing'-off' had never even reached her mind, more worried with getting a good distance from the phantoms:

"More magic!", she called at the group, hoping the rest of the arcane users would do something since her fighting style was of no use against this kind of enemy.

Standing against a tree, the Pugilist pulled up her daggers again, staring at the enemy she had left behind, patiently waiting for whichever move it decided to do next. She touched her jacket's pocket, the form of a potion creating a little lump inside it. Should she drink it? Isryin thought about it for a moment and decided that no, the current situation didn't warrant using her potion for emergencies yet. Unless... the phantom decided to cast a new instantaneous spell like the Graviga again, something that she could not dodge.
Then the girl would really be in trouble.
