File Island

As the situation defused, Lilly felt relived that no one was hurt.
She still had a hard time believing that they could be in another world, but then she also couldn't believe who or what told her to begin with.
If it really was some digital world, then why everything so..'organic?'

As the giant loin man instructed, everyone followed him, supposedly to a place they can rest.
She wasn't sure if she felt comfortable with the idea, but what else was new?
At least now she had her two Shojuo super heros to protect her.
Raven: cool and in charge.
And Heinrich: the tall strong hansom one.

As she followed the others learn she tried to work this puzzle out in her head.
Looking the group over one by one noticing just how varied their age and nationally really were.
It was as she looked then over she noticed one of her heros was still bleeding.
The cut was far from deep, but facial wounds tend to leek for some time.

walking by what looked like a yarrow plant, Lilly picked it and carefully grinded the leaves between her fingers as they walked.
offering up the green mash she mumbled in almost a whisper "um..here. if its anything like the plants where I'm from it will help."
tensing her shoulders , her face blushed a little as she clarified "for da bleeding ja?"

Heinrich
it seems... he was able to sort this out with the creature.

And the others were... Mostly intact, despite Ravyn's wound, which seems Lily was trying to attend to. What a dutiful young lady, if only his sister was that way. Perhaps he'd want to even call her a sister rather than a relative, she was most certainly enough trouble that he wanted nothing to do with her... Sadly, the world seemed keen on making him forced to be around her.

Speaking of insufferable people.

It seems their resident princess was in a bit of a stupor... and it seemed she was going along with them without a word this time. Hopefully she will snap out of it soon, granted there is a giant flame spewing lionman in front of them who nearly killed them... So... Guess it isn't all that unexpected. The man sighed and moved through the bush after the Leomon, he gave but a few moments to crack his neck once more, the muscles still stiff from the beating earlier.

"A digital world, humans not able to come here... seems we truly are not in Kanzas anymore..." his reference to wizard of Oz was abit stiff... But let him flash but a mere moment of smirking before he continued after the Lion person. "Perhaps you can explain.... What you are. A rude question perhaps, but do understand where we are not many beings can shoot fire from their hands... or looks like a lion."

Darya De Lucia
Darya could only follow in silence, listening to the others-- mostly Heinrich-- speak with the Leomon. She couldn't bring herself to focus on what was being said. I'm lost in some alternate world and there is no way for me to get home. What happens when Maverick and Dad realize I'm not coming home? What happens if I can never go back? She shivered.
Staying close to Lily, she watched as the little girl offered Ravyn the medicine.
How is everyone so calm about all of this?
"H-hey Ravyn?" Darya kept her voice low. "What happens once we've all rested and stuff? I mean . . . if we're in a completely different world does that mean we search for a way home or . . . do we just accept we're here for the rest of our lives and try to make the most of it?" She hoped their unofficial leader would have some idea of what to do. The idea of setting up their own survivor colony wasn't exactly appealing to her but it -- partly-- made more sense than tramping over the unknown terrain looking for some magic portal or teleportation device or whatever that would take her back to her family.
And what if time behaves differently here? Does it match the time back home so every day here is a day my family doesn't know what's happened to me or is it more like Narnia or Wonderland where time spent here is only a few seconds back home? She hoped it was the later. At least then her father wouldn't panic over losing her.

Otonashi Keiran

Digimon? Like that Pokemon thing that was so popular? Collecting youkai with watches?

Digital World?? Like a world made out Pokemon??? Digimon???? The 2020 Tokyo Olympics?????

It seemed like everything that day was destined to go flying straight over Otonashi's head.

The Digital World...

It might sound like something out of an 80s cartoon, if he had such a frame of reference. But he didn't, so his mind naturally hopped to the next best thing.

Huuh? Something called "Digital World" isn't part of a videogame?
Unless...saying it's not a game is part of the VR experience---
Wow! VR is even more amazing than I thought!

アラ?「デジタルワールド」というもの、ビデオゲームないっすか?
Ara? Dijitaru Waarudo to iu mono, bideo geemu naissuka?
Unless。。。ゲームじゃないと言っては、VRの 「経験」だー
Unless...geemu janai to itte wa, VR no 「keiken」da--
ワァー考えたの方が、VR超すごいね!
Wa--kangaeta no hou ga, VR chousugoi ne!

VR. Virtual Reality. That had been Otonashi's first thought. Well, after he had gotten rid of the red from his face that had been summoned by the peculiar tearing sensation of falling into the computer. Even after reality had settled, his whole body had continued to thrum with the tingling chemical reaction of pleasure meeting pain. He had had no idea that technology could have such useful applications...

And so for a good thirty seconds he had done nothing but lay on the grass staring at the azure sky ahead, so twisted up in his shock that he could think of nothing but the guilt at having enjoyed the bizarre experience far more than he suspected he should.

Then he had remembered his uniform.

Quickly he had sprung up, trying to brush off any grass before it could stain. Just because he had been hoping to get a replacement it didn't give him the excuse to ruin the one he already owned.

And that's when his brain had started its slow chug. That's right....his uniform....
He had started off the morning so well; with his roommate gone to work he had had a rare rush of inspiration that lead to him wearing the full ensemble and facing his sharply cut figure in the mirror. He remembered thinking he looked healthier than he could ever recall, and had even seemed to put on a few pounds since beginning to live the high life. And all the comfort that he owed to Ayumu...
Getting his life back together was about the only thing he could do to repay his good will.
And that's when he decided that enough was enough. On Monday he would return to school. He would learn the truth about what had happened to his family.

The truth...

But a few extra pounds hadn't been the only issue. He could see that the blazer of which he was so proud was getting a bit short. It couldn't be helped, since they had had to buy a hand-me-down, and even that had been several years ago. So Otonashi had decided, as part of his dedication to a new life, to go use Yahoo Auction like Ayumu had taught him to search if anyone was selling larger spares.

To his great pleasure he had been able to remember how to turn on the computer, access the internet, and log into the account his friend had helped him make. But he was not so lucky in completing his search. Of course he should have suspected such, seeing as the uniforms were rare, given the school's exclusivity and the unusual patterns they chose. So it didn't take long for him to become distracted, spinning in the computer chair and fiddling with the variety of useless trinkets Ayumu had stacked up along the desk in-between page loads.

And that was when he saw it.

The cell phone.

Not just any cell phone, but the brand new iPhone 7 Plus he and Ayumu had waited in line three hours to pick up just a few months before.
"This is bad!"

" マズイ!"

" Mazui! "

He must have forgotten it on his way to work. But Ayumu was so terrible with directions...wouldn't he get lost without it? What if he had an important e-mail, or someone tried to call him? His friend hadn't been raised in the technology-less existence Otonashi had been, so forgetting his cell phone probably seemed like the end of the world. Panicking, Otonashi had immediately grabbed it and tried to call Ayumu's number...before realizing that wasn't exactly going to help. He had been just about to try Rika when the computer - completely forgotten until that point - had suddenly blanked out. Screen completely white.

For a second Otonashi had stared at it dumbly. But before he had time to go into a secondary panic thinking he had broken it.........
He had woken up in the field.

A Tokyo brat born and bred, Otonashi couldn't remember ever having seen so much
green in his entire life. Even the English garden at Shinjuku Gyouen - which he had snuck into a few times in junior high to laugh at the bizarre flower names - hadn't been this lush or expansive. And even the relatively clear skies above the city couldn't compare to the sheer, pure blue of atmosphere above his head. It almost felt as if he was at the bottom of some great, beautiful sea.

So once the initial shock washed over him, it was naturally replaced by curiosity.

And that's when he had remembered VR. It was something Ayumu had mentioned in maybe one or two instances, and both times the concept had been more or less unfathomable. Otonashi remembered that one of the many desperate descriptions his friend had given was that it was "like going inside a video game." Well, wasn't that what had happened to him with the computer? And there had definitely been mention of a demo, or getting something installed or some such. So Otonashi figured that must have been it. Ayumu had bought a VR demo and somehow he had clutzed his way into activating it. Which meant that all he had to do was finish the demo, and then the game would end.

It wasn't the most sound of logic, but it was sound Otonashi logic.

Thinking of Ayumu again made him remember the 100,000 yen phone he had been clutching at the time of the glitch. Figuring he must have dropped it in the grass, Otonashi had - uniform, of course, forgotten - begun to crawl around searching for it, until he heard a soft but terrifying crunch. Well, he had certainly stepped on something, but it didn't at all resemble the phone he remembered.
"This is the worst..."

" マジヤバイ。。。"

" Maji yabai... "

With a groan he couldn't help but think that he had broken Ayumu's computer, then the VR, and now his phone. If it had been anyone other than his best friend he might have been happy. After all, such disrespect of personal property would be sure to earn anyone a punch in the face. But even if Ayumu certainly did have the muscles for a beautiful throw...well, he was Otonashi's first and closest friend, making him one of the only people on the planet that he never had any desire to upset.
The last thing he wanted to do was disappoint him.
"Well, there's no helping it, huh. Might as well look around."

" マ 、しょうがないね。見回した方がいいカモシレ。"

"Ma, shouganai ne. Miwashita hou ga ii kamoshire. "

But just as he had been about to finally head off, a series of shouts and the all-too-familiar echo of a resounding slap had come from somewhere behind him.

That had certainly caught Otonashi's interest, drawing his attention to a group of foreigners gathered upon a nearby knoll. Trying to remain inconspicuous, he had drifted to the edge of the group. It didn't take long for the depressing realization to settle in that his English had gotten a bit rusty in just a few weeks of disuse. Wasn't it supposed to be a slow language? How come everyone was speaking so fast? But it was probably better that he had remained two steps behind most of the proceeding conversation. In his reasoning, they were all either other players or characters in the VR, which meant that he would likely need their help in getting to the end. Thus he determined not to blow it with this group. He wouldn't say something weird and turn them all off him. That's right, he knew what it was like to have friends now. He could do this!

...But, safer to keep his mouth shut.

Because he was quiet and (he hoped) unobtrusive, the others had more or less ignored him. Not that he enjoyed being overlooked, but at least it wasn't anything he wasn't used to. Besides, as he got to know the foreigners a bit more, his knowledge of English and slang coming back to him, he decided that none of them seemed particularly...friendly. Either they were shy, quiet, commanding, or downright argumentative. Well, that wasn't the worst thing. Though having someone he could openly chat with would have at least made things easier. He needed a way to safely get his foot in the door.

But until that moment arrived, he was resolved to keep quiet and bide his time until he could attain the perfect first impression. Though with every rising action keeping quiet grew increasingly difficult. He could scarcely control himself in such a large group, with so much going on. Not to mention the fact that the foreigners were so...overall attractive. Even the two smaller girls, one with wavy brown hair and the other in a kiddish dress, though neither the type that looked like he could have much fun with, were still objectively cute. The others were even more ~promising~ He noticed that every time he lost control of his eyes they kept being drawn the to tall one's muscles. Well, the "tall one" as in the European man, but that could also describe half the people there. Were they all Dutch titans or something? Even going to international school he had never felt so particularly short. He blamed the baby-faced plant-loving girl who towered a full head over him.

But tall girls were nice, too.
Aaah...Lucky~

アァァ。。。ラッキ〜

Aaa...rakki~

He dreamily sighed to himself several times before reality throttled him for such digressions.
Man...I really am gross, huh. They're worried about their families and friends and I can't even control myself.

満卓。。。うちがマジキモイね。アイツラは家族や友達を心配しており、うちが自身をコントロールできない。

Mantaku...uchi ga maji kimoi ne. Aitsura wa kazoku ya tomodachi wo shinpai shite ori, uchi ga jishin wo kontorouru dekinai.

The solution was to physically place a hand over his mouth. At least this way, even if his thoughts were perverse he'd have to think twice before saying any of it out loud, right?

But all that had gone flying out the window when the beastman character appeared.

When the muscly European had suddenly fallen right on his back, Otonashi had felt the familiar thump of excitement begin to blossom in his chest. Where had such an incredible force come from? Who could be so impossibly strong as to One Hit KO that brick wall of a man!?

The ensuing encounter was one of the tensest - and strangest - moments of his life. He was so focused on the brittle atmosphere hovering between the bizarre beast and the foreigner that his brain scarcely had time to wonder where such a character had come from. But even if he had, it could all just be chalked up to part of the VR demo, right? Though it was uncanny how the beastman's fire attack - something that really looked straight out of a game - appeared to have singed the blonde girl's frouffy dress. Or the way his blade drew blood when held up to the militant woman's face.

Fight Fight Fight Fight Fight Fight
Still, Otonashi found himself praying タタケタタケタタケタタケタタケタタケ over and over. He would give his life for a chance to see such a glorious battle as surely the beastman vs. the European would prove to be. And he would give his next ten lives for a chance to jump into the fray himself. He couldn't imagine what it would feel like to be crushed by one of those massive paws...or even caught in the burning path of that impressive fire punch. Though the weapon complicated things. Otonashi himself had only been in a handful of knife fights, but even that was enough to know they were the trickiest of all. And this guy wasn't satisfied with just some tiny little switchblade; he had brought a
giant ass sword.

But, to his greatest dismay, before any such delectable fantasies could come to fruition...the fight had ended as suddenly as it began.
With words.
Huuh? It's over already?...How annoying.

アラ?秒で終わりな。。。ウザイ。

Ara? Byou de owari na...uzai.

He couldn't help but sigh, though immediately chastising himself for doing so. After all, the rest of the group seemed pretty satisfied with the outcome, so he should be, too. No casualties and they were already moving onto the next level-- Wasn't that the best case scenario for a game? The faster they ran the simulation, the faster he could get back to Ayumu and apologize for breaking every piece of technology in his house.

While he was here, however...he might as well enjoy it, right? The bright sky and pleasant scenery gave him a sense of refreshed wellbeing that seemed so far removed from the train wreck his life had become. All motivation of the previous morning forgotten, he felt it was rather a lucky break to be able to escape from his dreary reality into a bright and shining fantasy land populated by strong, healthy, and attractive people. Such energetic thoughts only fueled the frothing of blood that had started pumping from the (almost) fight and now desperately needed a new outlet.

Thus he forgot that he was supposed to be waiting for the perfect chance to make the perfect first impression, and that he was supposed to have a hand over his mouth, preventing any outbursts.

And his first victim would be the first one in reach: The stylish blonde. She seemed a bit out of it, dragging herself at the back of the group as if in a stupor. But Otonashi noticed none of this as he bobbed up to her, taking a moment to unabashedly look her up and down before staring straight into her dulled eyes.

" ワー You're even prettier up close. And didn't you slap that guy earlier? Pretty and pret~ty amazing! Next time you can try it on me~ So, ねね, how did you feel to get hit by that lion's fireball? Was it like a burn, or a punch? Or, better yet, both at once? 超すごいね! I really hope I get to be the one to try it next time. "

Somewhere along the line of his babbling he had forgotten that the beastman hadn't actually hit her, or that he was even talking to someone else, or that any of the rest of the group even existed, so caught up he was in his imaginings.

The blissful numbness of shock did not last long for Jupiter. She was bleakly following the rest of the ‘humans’, little more than ducklings behind their monstrous guide. The same one that had nearly killed them, she might add. If she wasn’t so caught up in her own worries she would find it stunning just how nonchalant they were about the fact this creature had almost killed her. Then again, they were all base-born peasants… it was only natural that the spiteful little things wanted her to die.

One such simpleton had the nerve to pester her in such a delicate state. At first she blinked in surprise, as if she forgot there were other people here with her. Once he started flapping his gums, however, she was forcefully brought back to reality (if you could call this place a form of ‘reality’). Jupiter soon found that she did not like that, especially since she had to re-face the dire realization of the situation she was in.

The one talking looked younger than her, judging by his height, but she wasn’t sure… she was never any good at guessing the age of Asians. They all looked the same to her. Young or old, it didn’t matter, he was bothering her.

She listened to his babbling, her face contorting into a disgusted expression when he brought up the time she slapped one guy, then asked if she could slap him too. A red flush was growing on her face and her foot was tapping uncontrollably. How could he be saying things like this?

Her eye twitched when he mentioned the blast from the lion-man.

Well, it was quiet while it lasted.

You idiot! What was it like… WHAT WAS IT LIKE? I NEARLY BURNED ALIVE BECAUSE OF A GIANT, TALKING LION!” Jupiter shouted, “And all you can say is, ‘what was it like?’! Don’t you get it? This is real! WE ARE GOING TO DIE IN HERE!”

She stomped her foot, causing a loud crack to sound. One of her heels had snapped on a tree root, forcing her to fall down in a sideways sitting position. Jupiter let out an angry hiss, ripped the destroyed shoe off of her foot and threw it down onto the ground. She didn’t even bother getting up, instead covering her face with both hands.

AMY WARREN
...Over this already...
Amy had sort of absently been tagging along with the rest of the group for the last little while. not because she thought their plan was especially and not because she necessarily enjoyed their company, she definitely didn't. Mainly she was tagging along because she didn't want to divert any attention from her current obsession to worry about irrelevant details like which direction they were going or the presence of hulking lion men.

That obsession? The strange little device that seemed to have replaced her phone. Mostly this was because it had taken Amy bloody ages to afford the damn thing in the first place and on principle anyone who stole from her got on her list in a major way. Mostly though the fact that she had the thing at all was suspicious to Amy. The device was different enough from her phone that it couldn't be some fake out, this thing looked a lot more rugged and, although it pained her to admit it, it looked a lot better quality then her dinky offbrand model.

So the motive wasn't simple theft and whoever planted them could have done a lot worse while they were being moved or unconscious in that clearing so it wasn't likely that it was some kind of trojan horse style poison gift. Could it be tracking them? That made a lot of sense, whoever had dragged them here had taken people from all over the world judging by the accents which would have been a massive pain in the arse. It would make sense that whoever was responsible would want to keep tabs on them. But why use such obvious plants, Amy didn't know much about trackers but she was reasonably certain they didn't have to be big, bulky things with blinking lights like they were in the movies. Why not simply place the tracker in everyone's old phones? Likely none of them would have thought to check something like that.

No matter how she looked at it Amy couldn't see how the device was meant to harm or undermine her in any way, but whoever or whatever had planted it on her was either involved in freaking kidnapping her or had done nothing to prevent it so they weren't an ally either. It was a total, infuriating mystery.

Amy looked up from the device she had been glaring at while she walked, hissing in frustration. She ended up staring at the lionman for the obvious reason that he was a goddam talking, anthropomorphic lion and, gears turning in her head she settled on a next step.

"Hey Mufasa," she called, jogging up to the front of the queue until she was level with the... digimon? that was the word right? "Think you can bust this thing open for me?" she asked, holding out the digivice to illustrate. Ordinarily she wouldn't ask for help with something like this but the little device actually looked pretty sturdy and Amy didn't really want to lag behind while she tried to crack it on a rock like a starving monkey. Leomon on the other hand looked lie he could crumble it onto dust without breaking his stride and since he seemed to believe he wasn't actually human it technically wasn't the same as asking another person for help. Right>

Leomon
Ravyn Cooper

Leomon glanced back at the others as they began asking him questions. He expected as much from them, and frankly, he had plenty of his own. But it was likely best to give them a chance to calm down a little before bombarding them. "We are headed towards the village I'm the guardian of. We call it the Village of Beginnings. The lives of many of the digimon living on this island start there."

Ravyn quietly followed behind them, her gaze focused on something beyond the group as she absently listened to their conversations. Village of Beginnings? Dear god, it sounds like the tutorial town in a game... She was broken from her thoughts by a quiet voice at her side. Amber eyes studied the timid girl for a moment before accepting the remedy. "Thanks... Lilly, right?" Ravyn never really was all that good with names. Being thrown in their admittedly stressful situation did little to help.

"Explain... what I am?" Leomon repeated, musing over the question."A difficult question, I suppose asking you what a human really is may be just as hard for you to answer. Digimon are... I've heard many also use the term 'digital monsters...' We weren't created by humans, of that I'm certain." He scratched the back of his head, "I'm sorry, maybe I can't answer that question too well."

Ravyn looked over at Daria as she spoke up. "Hell if I know," She sighed and shook her head, "If anything, we can at least get our bearings there. Maybe someone in the village will have a map of this place?"

Leomon's keen eyes looked over the group once more. It was all so strange, those digimon being born or even arriving in his village in the past few months all talking about humans. Now a whole group of them just shows up out of the blue? Their worlds were supposed to be separated, only a few of the most powerful Ultimates had been said to even come in contact with the human world. Could they have been connected?

He blinked as Amy ran up in front of him and held out the digivice, interrupting his train of thought. "Erm... you wish for me to break it? Why?" He took the device in one of his paws, studying it for a moment. Whatever it is, it seemed dormant at the moment.

When Raven accepted her yarrow treatment and remembered her name it made Lilly very happy.
However, she was unable to properly express it.
All she could do was grin through her blush and rub the back of her head.
She slowed her pace and let herself fall back in line.

As they walked, she carefully listened to everything going on around her.
Some of the people still thought this was some kind of kidnapping.
Some of them were completely lost in their own fears and doubts.
But a few of them were strangely accepting of it.

When Leomon spoke up about the strange device he was handed, Lilly perked up her head.
Raising her hand like she was a kid in school she chimed in "Mr.Leomon sir! I think I have one of those t-"
Her sentence being cut short as they crested a grassy hill and down below a small village came into view .

Even from a distance Lilly could tell it was full of life.
Small creatures of different colors bounced around like little jelly beans of joy.
At least that's how Lilly saw it as she looked at the distant village starry eyed.

Grabbing the nearest persons arm, who just happened to be Amy, Lilly jumped up and down a few times giggling.
When she realized how she was behaving she recoiled in embarrassment and muttered "förlåt"

Ren Lawless
Strange emotionless trap who is trouble doing the interacting thing

So... Leomon was going to take them somewhere to rest. Why, precisely, were they going to trust him after it had actually, literally tried to scorch the pink princess's face off and cut Ravyn? Given, Ren didn't think that they had many other options, but perhaps they shouldn't have just blindly given their trust to the... What was it called... Digimon like that. His choices seemed to be "follow the lion with a sword and the menagerie of people he had woken up with" or "sit on the ground and refuse to move until he withered away" and, very frankly, that second one didn't seem to be a good plan, if just because he didn't actively feel like he should do something that would probably get him killed if the rest of the Digimon out there had a "stab first ask questions later" policy like Leomon apeared to.

... Wait, did that lion say that he was taking them to the 'Village of Beginnings'? That sounded like it was straight out of Legend of Zelda game. He couldn't have been serious about that name, could he? Well, he supposed that he must have been, but it still sounded like they were going to some weird tutorial village.
tumblr_o3ht99U4zI1r4jf9no1_250.png

Would there be food in the village, he wondered? Of course there would be food, Digimon had to eat too, right? As much as he didn't like following someone who had just tried to kill one of them, he supposed that going somewhere that actually had food was a silver lining. Perhaps they also had a clothing store- No, that was definitely just wishful thinking... Wait, Leomon was wearing pants, so he supposed that there actually was a chance that somewhere would sell clothing.

Darya DeLucia
Darya shifted away from Ravyn. She got it. The girl was stressed and panicked; she'd been threatened and almost died. I'll talk to her once she's had time to calm down. Glancing at Lilly, she tried to judge her state. She seems okay for now. Lilly and -- Who's that? I don't think I got her name at all.-- someone were talking to Leomon about the devices they'd found. Darya's hand dropped to her pocket. The lump didn't feel like her phone but she wasn't willing to pull it out to check. Not yet.

Jupiter sat crying on the ground. Darya sighed. She wasn't exactly excited about being near this spoiled princess who had threatened their chances of getting home, but now there didn't seem to be a way home anymore and they were all stuck together. Sighing again, she knelt by the princess and put her arm around her shoulders. "Hey . . . Come on, we don't want to fall behind." She looked up. The top of the hill wasn't too far off. "We're almost to the village," she hoped, "maybe they'll let us clean up. And maybe we'll be able to fix your dress." Darya wasn't really sure if comforting a rich girl worked the same as comforting her little brother. "Let's just get to the village. We'll be able to figure out our next move once we get some food and rest." She gently coaxed Jupiter to her feet and, keeping an arm around her, walked with her the rest of the way.

Cresting the hill, Darya stopped and stared down at the Village of Beginnings. It was a bright and lush fields with buildings and a huge tree with multicolored leaves. From this distance, it was hard to see exactly what the moving shapes bouncing all over the place were but it was obvious they weren't human. Are they bunnies? No, that isn't right. What the hell is that? To be honest, whatever the bouncy things were, they were . . . kind of . . . adorable.

AMY WARREN
...I hate babies...

Amy broke off as someone grabbed her arm and she wheeled suddenly, yanking it back rather forcefully. "hey watch it," she began and then trailed off as Lilly apologized and looked mortified, stealing her thunder somewhat. "Well... yeah," Amy replied a little lamely, shoving her hands into the pockets of her jacket and forcing her other hand, still coiled into a fist, to relax. "Personal space ya know?"

Jeez girl you wanna get your nose busted? Not that I do that sort of thing these days.

Amy exhaled slowly and directed her attention to the village beneath them. She hadn't really known what to expect from a place called "The Village of Beginnings" but Amy had definitely hoping for something a little more... developed. The village was little more than a disorganization cluster of tiny huts, so no wi-fi then. The inhabitants were odd too, Amy lifted a hand to her brow, trying to get a better look but it was hard to make out their features, they looked like little more than little blobs with mouths.

These are digimon as well? Amy thought, glancing over at Leomon quickly. They don't look very similar Then she remembered Leomon saying something about many digimon beginning their lives in this place. So this entire place is just an overgrown nursery? An entire village of babies?! Just kill me now.

Amy had trouble understanding why anyone would want one baby let alone a whole village of them. Nasty, smelly, loud little buggers the lot of 'em, Amy was happy to keep her distance. Was Leomon really in charge of this place? He had said he was the guardian but was that basically like a security guard or did he look after the little blighters as a sort of carer. Amy's mind was suddenly assaulted with the vision of Leomon juggling dozens of baby digimon, feeding one with a bottle, rocking another to sleep, one on his shoulder chewing on his whiskers.

Amy sniggered to herself and then cleared her throat suddenly, turning her attention back to their guide.

"Anyway like I was saying," Amy continued, gesturing at the strange device now in Leomon's hand. " I wanna see what's inside it. I don't know where it came from or what it is and it's not even working. The next logical step is to crack it open, omelettes and eggs and all that," explained Amy, with a tone that communicated she thought this was obvious. "You don't have to completely destroy it, just open the casing so I can get a look at its guts. But hey worst case scenario we've got eight of 'em between us, I doubt we'll miss one all that much."

Normally Jupiter would have resisted such an offer of aid, too proud to accept the help from such a lowly peon, but these were no normal circumstances. Furthermore, the help she had envisioned was nothing more than a hand to get her back on her feet. It was a complete surprise when Darya put her arms around her shoulders in a gesture of comfort. She could not remember the last time she had ever needed to be comforted like this, or the last time someone had felt compelled to comfort her in the first place. Regardless, it felt strange.

As soon as she was on her feet and walking again, Jupiter wordlessly broke away from Darya. She hoped that this girl wasn’t expecting some form of repayment, but most importantly she hoped that her makeup hadn’t been absolutely decimated. Crying was one thing, but ruining one’s makeup was another. She may be stuck in a strange world but she could at least keep her dignity.

‘If only I had my bag...’ she thought glumly, recalling the white Valentino purse and its contents. What would she give for the rounded mirror of her blush, or to reapply her lipstick. Right now she must look like a total mess, if her dress was any indication. A renewed swell of panic bubbled in Jupiter’s chest at the thought of being so disheveled. She had to find a mirror, hell even a puddle would do right about now. Just something that could let her see her reflection. Despite the dire circumstances, this desire to fix her appearance was all she could think about. At least it distracted her from everything. The only downside was that the more she thought about her makeup the more restless she became. It was driving her insane.

They were going to a village. Villages would have mirrors, surely.

When she finally laid eyes on the village she was filled with relief, only to have it crushed at the sight of so many… digi-creatures? Digi-noms? She forgot what the overgrown cat had called himself. It didn’t matter, she instinctively hated them. They were all filthy, primitive beings just like the lion.

“There are so many of them!” She said in disgust, looking towards the bouncing balls of fluff in the distance.

Otonashi Keiran

I've gone and done it now...

間違いしちゃった。。。
Machigai shichatta...

Well, it wasn't the kind of slap he preferred, but when the girl began to scream at him it certainly slapped him back to reality.

Making people angry, now that was right up his alley. Making people fall to the ground defeated...well, that was certainly new. It actually made him feel...kinda bad. Not to mention he was sure that the scene she caused had him blushing again. This is why he preferred men to women. They were more likely to show quick aggression and get to the good part. Women were trickier. He had really only ever gotten to know three in his life. One of which being his own mama, who of course he did all in his power to not make cry or offend. The other two...Megumi and Rika...well, they were difficult in their own right. But he mostly tried to avoid them when he could help it.

Especially Rika since she was more Ayumu's friend than his own.

Regardless, he could still do this. He just needed to figure out damage control.

"Hey, we all die someday. If we die here then at least it might be ~exciting~"

It seemed as if his cheerful response didn't help. Luckily another girl - the short one with curly hair - came to the blonde's rescue. That was good. Women were better at handling their own than he could ever be. However, he noticed they left the (now broken) shoe behind them on the ground.

Ah, maybe this is one of those「side quests」!

アァーこれは「サイドクエスト」カモシレよ!
Aa-- Kore wa saido kuesto」kamoshireyo!

He honestly still didn't know whether to think of the foreigners as characters in the game or other players.....but continuing down that train of thought made his head hurt so he decided to just not worry about it. Either way, they seemed to be sharing a party until the game's end, and that was all that mattered. Though he did wish a few more of them would formally introduce themselves. If there was supposed to be some sort of "hover-over" option to give him their profiles, he had no idea how to access it.

So Otonashi decided to pick up the shoe, just in case, and...well, he didn't really have anywhere to put it, so he just slid it behind his belt. That way he could use it to try and make up with the blonde later. Or, if she didn't want it...at least even broken the heel was still rather pointy. It could make a useful weapon if push came to shove. Not that he thought that pushing a shoe could do much to shove a giant sword like the one Leomon had.

The Village of Beginnings...

It had kind of a nice, ethereal ring to it. He liked it when English phrases were presented like Japanese ones, since back when he was still beginning to learn the language he had always found them easier to understand. Not 'Beginning Village,' but 'Village of Beginnings.' It sounded...well, he could scarcely tell...classier? Homier? Somehow.

Though there was nothing really 'homey' about the place that Leomon was steadily walking them towards. Resting in the shade of a huge, sparkling tree raining down a rainbow of colors to splinter in the high sun, the village was comprised of strange little houses that reminded Otonashi of a mixture between visiting a pet supply shop and the miniature structures at the Edo Museum - one of his favorite places to go when he had any cash. Just as he wondered what kinds of little people lived there, he was answered by the appearance of a myriad of bouncing blobs of color.

"Whoa!!" he cried out, freezing as he stared flabbergasted at the strange beings. For some reason they threw him even more off guard than the giant muscled beastman had. Maybe because there were so
many of them.

What were they...? Were they edible? Somehow they looked rather tasty. Like the fancy theme deserts at Namja Town or those things...those delicious things... ...he tried to remember the name... ... ...「marcaron」, or something like that. He had only had them once when Ayumu brought them home (apparently a gift some girl had made him), and they were the best things he had ever eaten. Second to choco melon pan, of course.
"Gross. I shouldn't be thinking that."

"キモイ。考えるべきではない. They're probably not for eating."

"Kimoi. Kangaeru beki dewa nai."

He sighed, thinking that was most likely not how games worked. Could one even eat in a video game? How convenient, if inside the VR you never got hungry. One could save a lot of money that way. Though all the thinking about desert was starting to make his stomach respond.

"ウゥ Now I kinda wish I had a 「marcaron」. Even if it's a bouncing one."

Leomon
Ravyn Cooper

Finally cresting the hill that many in the group had already begun to descend, Ravyn looked out at the surprisingly large village below. Even with her less than stellar eyesight, she could tell the place was teeming with life. "Well this doesn't look so bad..." She mused, beginning her own descent towards the village.

Though it still sounded like the tutorial area in a game.

Tilting his head slightly, the Digimon tentatively tapped the device with one of his claws. Despite its matte appearance, the casing was much harder than he expected, giving off an almost metallic sound when tapped. Closing his fist around it, Leomon attempted to crush it. The case didn't have any give whatsoever. "It's far stronger than it looks," He finally mused, handing the device back to Amy. "You may be hard pressed to actually damage it."

Stepping inside the village, the group was almost instantly swarmed by what almost looked like bouncing balls of all kinds of colors. "Leomon, you're back!" Cried one, immediately rushing to the older Digimon's side.

"Did you find out what that flash was?"

"What kind of Digimon are these?" A small bird flapped with all her might to get eye level with Heinrich.

"They don't look like any Digimon I've heard of," A ball of violet and gray fur stated before charging Otonashi, pelting him with small iron balls before being scooped up in Leomon's paw. "Hey!" He squirmed in the Digimon's grasp. "Leomon, put me down!"

"Dorimon..." The lion had taken on a warning tone, leading Dorimon to stop struggling. He grumbled under his breath as he was set back down, resorting to just glaring at the group.

One stared up at Jupiter with large, crimson eyes for a long moment.

Before promptly trying to take a bite from her dress.

Leomon didn't even have to say anything as he brought the Koromon to eye level. "But it looks like candy!" She whined.

Welcome to the Village of Beginnings! Teeming with Fresh and In-Training (And a few Rookie and Champion) level digimon that are no doubt curious about the group of humans that just waltzed in. Feel free to branch off, add digimon, encounter your partner, whatever you feel like really.

Darya DeLucia
Darya stared, open mouthed, at the little creatures that swarmed when they entered the village. Most looked like plushy animals, some with more cat or dog like features while others resembled birds or plants. The little talking cotton-balls and jellybeans had no fear of the new comers or of Leomon. Which could be a good thing. The fact that these little balls could talk was surprising. They reminded her of small children, no fear of the world, an endless curiosity, and saying anything that came to their minds. "They're . . . adorable!" She knelt down to get a better look at the Digimon. "You take care of all of them by yourself, Leomon?" She looked up at the guardian. "Is it alright if I--?"
Before she could finish her question, three of the little blobs knocked her over, bouncing on her in their excitement.
Darya laughed. They were like puppies.
"What kind of Digimon are you?" One turnip-looking creature said, leaning in close to Darya's face as it peered at her.
"I . . I'm not a Digimon. I'm a human. We're all humans."
The Digimon got off of her and formed a circle around her, staring.
"You're lying," one of them said, "humans can't come to the digital world. Leomon said so; right Leomon? You said they were just stories"
Darya looked up at the half-lion. Again, if humans weren't supposed to be in the Digital world, how did any of them get here? What could have snatched them from their homes and brought them to this universe where little animals could question their own existence like children asking about the Easter Bunny or the monster under their bed?
Leomon ignored the little Digimon, preoccupied with a few others that were a little too forward with some of the other visitors.
Standing, Darya looked around at the little houses. "Is it alright if I look around?" She remembered her words to Jupiter. "We could all use some water; is it alright for me to go get some?" Leomon glanced at her, frowning, but nodded. Darya grinned and hurried away from the group, not really sure where she could find water or even how to bring some back for everyone else but she pushed those concerns to the back of her mind. She wanted to explore. What kind of world was this? The Digimon reminded her of cartoon characters or something from a game that she or her brother might have played when they were younger.
Wandering into the village, she couldn't help but grin. Some of the houses were little earthen mounds while others looked like giant blocks found in a child's toybox. She reached out and touched one. It felt smooth and warm. All around her were Digimon, chasing balls, bouncing through leaf piles, and playing on modified playgrounds. It's like a giant kindergarten. Darya continued walking, wandering about with no real destination. As she passed one of the giant blocks, she noticed a Digimon bouncing a ball off of one of the walls. The Digimon looked like a toasted marshmallow with long bunny ears and three little lumps on the top of its head. It was playing all by itself. Darya felt herself drawn to the creature. The device in her pocket beeped loudly at her. Hurrying to pull it out, she finally looked at the thing that had replaced her phone. Blue and silver, it looked like a walkie-talkie with a screen that showed an image of the Digimon before her. It beeped again. "Shh, quiet. . ." she muttered. She didn't want to scare the little thing. She tried to silence it but didn't know where the volume was and resorted to just covering it with her hand. When she looked up, the Digimon was watching her and the ball had rolled towards her. The two of them looked at each other for a long moment before Darya slowly moved forward. "Hi, there," She picked up the ball. "What's your name?"
The Digimon shifted, shyly. "I'm Kokomon. Who are you?"
"My name's Darya. Leomon brought me here."
"You're one of the humans everyone's talking about?" Kokomon eyed her and scooted closer. "Why are you here in the Digital World?"
"I'm. . . not sure. I don't even know how I got here."
Kokomon was quiet for a minute. Its black eyes softened and she smiled. "Do you want to play with me?"
Darya returned the grin. The others could take care of themselves for a little bit. "Sure." She tossed the ball back to Kokomon who darted forward and knocked it back to Darya.

Heinrich
and
Budmon(Soon to be lalamon)
Heinrich was....Entranced... The little creatures that came bouncing towards him are being he'd only imagine within his dreams, Adorable fluffy little balls of cuteness only thought of in the deepest recesses of his mind as the fear the thoughts may be discovered will ruin any attempt at manliness he had!! He watched as the hopped about adorably, he watched as the digimon played with one another, he watched they they cautiously stared upon him, he watched as some of the others already started to play with them.

He...

He wanted to play too...

Though hearing a nearby person speak about eating them his hand instinctively rose and slapped Keiran ( Pretzel Heart Pretzel Heart ) on the back of the head. "Hurt one and Leomon will be the least of your worries." though, he didn't stick around to listen to his protests, he simply went forwards to... Try and meet one of these little adorable balls of joy, cuddles and cuteness. Thank whatever god is watching nobody can read his mind...

=============================================================================================================================================

After a long while of searching, it seemed that no matter where he went he was...

Avoided...

Perhaps it was because he was staring, perhaps it was because he was simply so... mean looking. Perhaps it was because everytime he was talked to by one of the creatures he'd freeze up and not say anything to keep himself from breaking into tears with how adorable they are. As such, he found himself quite alone, left to sit by a tree facing the larger part of the village in faint hopes one of them would hop his way...

He let out a small sigh... It was hopeless.... He was no good with things that were so small. they were all so afraid of him, how could he ever bring one to speak to him, much less let him play if they wont let him near... he shook his head once more, before the faint sound of crunching filled his ears... Crunching.. like something was chewing on something nearby. very nearby in fact, almost like it was in... His... Apron?

Reaching a hand inside he rummaged around the surprisingly large pocket when he immediately pulled his hand out with a slight yelp. "Gah! damn.. what in... What was that?' he asked, as he pulled up the pocket and peered inside.

Inside was a strange small digimon, with a green body in the shape of a seed with a couple of thorns on the top of it's head. he gazed down at the creature that was currently eating at his supply of hidden away cookies. "Sho good!' the creature spoke in an adorably high voice. "And theres so much! I'll never run out! hehehe!" heinrich was... stunned.. by the creature... it was so tiny... And it had been completely oblivious to the fact he got poked by one of it's thorns.

"...Hey there... I don't think I said you can have those..." he spoke to the little creature as it finally looked his way. "EH!? Uhh, Ahh...." the budmon waffled, trying to find the words. "I was... uhh.. lost! And I got stuck in here!" it explained, badly, before trying to sneak another bite. "Oh no you don't, thats enough." heinrich plucked it up by it's tail and laid it atop of his other palm. "Aww come on they're so good!!" it protested, but the man held strong. "No, you will ruin your dinner should you keep it up, that said they are not yours to eat."

The budmon flinched and looked downwards. "..Oh... yea... well.. I'm sorry... I promise I won't do it again." and such, the greatest lie in the digital world was spoken and heinrich stared at the creature with disbelieving eyes. "...Right..." "So? What digimon are you?' "Hmm? I am not a digimon, i am a human." "Oh cool! Whats a human?" "A... Human is.... A..." "Oh oh! I'm budmon!" the creature introduced it'self, interrupting Heinrich's attempt to explain what he... was.

"budmon... Is that your name? Or what you are?" "Budmon is a budmon! So both, I guess!" "...Huh..." the man stared at it for abit... taking it all in. "...So... would-" "Do you want to be budmon's friend!? I like you! And you have great food!" heinrich stared at the creature for a second before holding in the slight break of tears.. it was... So... ADORABLE!! how could he not!?!?! "I... yes... I will be your friend!" he accepted the offer, feeling like his heart was going to break from how adorably it hopped up and down upon his palm.

Seem he didn't need to find a little friend this day, for one came to him! he was so happy he could burst, nothing could ruin his joy at this very moment.

"Now that were friends, can I have another cookie-" "Not yet, later." "Awwwwwwww!! Come on!"

Nothing could ruin his joy.

Once in the village it took every bit of Lillly’s maturity not to simply scream in childlike delight.
A wide ear to ear smile and an antsy step betraying her excitement.
So many cute and cuddly blobs of whatch-a-ma-call-its bouncing everywhere.
Even more exiting was the fact that these things could talk.
What was better than a stuffed animal that could talk back to you when your lonely?

She wanted so badly to just throw herself into the fray of fun all around her but there was one problem..
She was still surrounded by these strangers from all over the world.
Lilly never felt comfortable around people, least of all foreigners.
She always felt cultural barriers lead to misunderstandings and stressful drama.
Such was already the case when she got over exited and grabbed the girls arm earlier.

Her bright smile dimmed to a disappointed frown; like someone who wasn’t invited to a party.
She rubbed the back of her arm nervously as she searched for a way to get out of this stressful group.
Again, she felt the nagging need to get back home to Sweden and to her father.
She could feel her chest tighten with the distinct feeling of panic as she remembered she was supposed to start of the city garden that day as well.
And just how long had she already been gone for that matter?

She found herself wandering off from the group before even realizing it.
Not that she would be easily missed considering how quiet she had been.
For that matter, some of the others had already began to scatter around the village.
In such a peaceful place, under the protection of such a powerful digi-whats-it, as Mr.Leomon Lilly was sure Raven wouldn’t be too mad if she wandered off.

The farther she got from the group of humans, the more at ease Lilly felt.
Rounding a corner of an adorably colorful little house, she knew she was finally out of anyone’s line of sight.
That bright smile almost immediately returned to Lilly’s face as she let out a small giggle.
Finally, she was free to join in this symphony of fun without the judgmental eyes of ‘people’.
All her shyness and reservations seemed to go away when it was just the little fluff balls around.
Maybe it was the fact that they were just so little and cute that she saw them like pets.
Or maybe they reminded her of the plush animals she confided to when she was lonely.
Whatever the reason, Lilly felt she could come out of her shell when it was just them around.

Skipping along a nearby hop-scotch board she sang old playground songs to herself.
When she reached the end, she scooped up and orange one with a shark’s fin and twirled around before setting him back down.
The digimon laughed delightedly at this strange creature playing with him, and bounced along behind as Lilly moved on to her next destination.

Her next stop was when she saw a few digimon babies playing jump rope.
This was something Lilly had never done before, but it looked like fun.
Being the good natured digimon one would expect in the village of beginnings, they of course agreed to let her play.
Only a few jumps in and Lilly had already gotten herself and all the other digimon tied up in the rope somehow.
The group all laughed at the silliness of it all, including Lilly.
She had let the pressures of nearly being an adult weigh her down for too long.
She couldn’t remember the last time she felt so free.

Looking at the beauty all around her, Lilly decided she would take some time to study the local plant life.
Her digimon friends however found this idea painfully dull.
Before Lilly had even realized it, they had ditched her to go back to playing something else.
Though it hurt Lilly’s feelings a little, she couldn’t blame them.
They were after all just babies, and they didn’t know who or even what she was.

Taking a moment to calm herself from the excitement, Lilly began to carefully look at all the strange plants that didn’t quite fit with their ‘real world’ counterpart.
One plant in particular caught her attention.
a strange green bulb with two leaves buried only partially in the soil.
As she approached it, it seemed to shift and twitch.
Lilly wondered if maybe this could be some kind of strange carnivores plant, like the fly traps she grew in the labs at school.
She felt her better judgement telling her to get the helvete away from it, but her curiosity and botanist mind had to know.

As she inched her hand ever closer, she could feel her hand twitch with reluctance.
She could feel beads of sweat forming on her brow.
She would just pick one petal to study later.
Just one and she would get far away from it and go back to the others.

Just then she felt a sudden vibration in her pocket coming from where that thing that replaced her phone was.
The sudden buzz startled her so badly that she fell flat on her butt and let out a short scream.
Covering her mouth, she felt so embarrassed; surely anyone nearby had to have heard that.
To make matters worse she noticed that she had also torn her pants in the fall.

A combination of stress, embarrassment, and frustration caused Lilly to rip at the grass and rage “Jävla skull!”
She could feel herself gearing up to cry when she suddenly heard something coming from the plant.
It was .. Snickering?”
Suddenly it popped out of the soil revealing four stubby legs two crimson eyes and a giggling little smile.
"Oooo, you said a bad word!. I should tell on you to Leomon.

Lilly waved her hands in panic “No please, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.. wait. “
It then dawned on her “You Understand Swedish?”
The curious digimon only looked up at her with those beautiful jewel-like eyes and replied “I don’t know what that is, but I understand you. Are you a Swedishmon?”

Lilly giggled at the absurdity of her question, before correcting her “No no no.. I’m FROM Sweden. “
The young Digimon raised a stubby limb to its mouth as it contemplated what she had said “OOooh, you must be from far away then, like other side of the river far. Wow, that’s neat.”
Smiling brightly the digimon introduced itself “ I’m Tenamon! What kind of digimon are you then?”

Lilly adjusted herself to cover the small rip in her pants before trying to explain “I’m not a digimon, I’m a human. My name is Lilly.”
Tenamon was sure that Leomon told them that humans could never come to the digital world.
So she must have miss herd this ‘Lilly’.
“Ooooh, so you’re a Hu-mon. I got it.” Tenamon announced proudly.

Lilly sighed as she began trying to explain the situation, but a large part of her didn’t believe her own story .

AMY WARREN
...A Rival Appears?..
Closing his fist around it, Leomon attempted to crush it. The case didn't have any give whatsoever. "It's far stronger than it looks," He finally mused, handing the device back to Amy. "You may be hard pressed to actually damage it."

"Well that's even shadier," grumbled Amy accepting the device and studying it curiously. "What the hell is this thing made of?"

"Feh! Leomon you've gotten soft while you were away! Gimme that thing and I'll bust it wide open!"

The voice came from somewhere near Amy's ankles and she looked down to come face to... blob? with one of the little digimon. With upturned, protruding teeth and tiny, fin like appendages the seed shaped blob looked a bit like a piranha and seemed to be doing its best to look tough. The creature's beady little eyes were crinkled in a sort of scowl and it seemed to be smirking confidently. It certainly didn't inspire much confidence.

"You don't even have hands," Amy said, rolling her eyes. "How are you gonna- HEY!"

Without bothering to explain itself the digimon had simply bunched itself up and leaped up to snatch the digivice out of Amy's slightly outstretched hand.

"Handsh? Who needsh'em?" the digimon shot back, the digivice jamming its mouth and garbling its words. Not wasting a moment the creature hopped away, a startled Amy mounting a pursuit seconds later.

"Hey! Gimme that back you little brat!" called Amy, sprinting after the creature. So okay the device wasn't so much hers so much as it had been on her person and yes, she had been attempting to break up until a moment ago but that was because she wanted whatever was inside it not because she didn't want it necessarily. Besides, stealing was just wrong, if nobody had taught the little blob that yet then Amy was perfectly happy to give it a crash course.

Of course to do that she'd have to catch the little bugger. Amy was obviously faster but the digimon had the home-field advantage, whenever she was close to snatching it up the digmon would suddenly duke down a tiny alley, or through an open window, forcing its pursuer to detour around and lose precious time. Fortunately most of these detours produced a chorus of cries and protestations from the other residents of the village as the fugitive disrupted their business meaning it was never too hard to pick up the trail again.

Finally, as the digimon squeezed into a small crevice between two boulders, Amy vaulted onto one of the rocks and, assuming her quarry was too sly to let itself be trapped located an exit on the other side of the rocks and waited, her hand dangling above the exit like a spider. Suddenly a flash of purple appeared and Amy lunged. Hunter and hunted became one tangle of limbs and fins as Amy's momentum carried them both forwards, rolling over the grass into an untidy heap, the digimon struggling vainly in Amy's vice like grip.

"Game over," panted Amy, sitting up and dusting herself off with her free hand, careful not to let go of her victim and paying extra attention to her hat, which she took off to inspect carefully before replacing it on her hat. "Now hand it over," Amy demanded and then immediately regretted it when the digimon complied and spat the digivice, covered in drool into her hand. Wincing Amy gingerly wiped her prize on the grass.

"Heh, not bad," said the digimon, ceasing its struggling to watch Amy and still smirking despite its situation. "I'll acknowledge you as my rival, no one else in this village can keep up with me. Not even Leoman can catch me...most of the time- Anyway I'm Hopmon, gotta say I never expected my rival to be so weird looking though,"

Amy's brow twitched at that but she was once again engrossed in studying the device which had undergone a sudden change. The device had somehow changed color, going from a nondescript grey to a dark purple with striking orange highlights. It was also on now so that was something.

"Hey, what'd you do?" demanded Amy distractedly, experimenting with the digivice's buttons now that it was on. "You musta pressed something with your teeth.

"Who cares? Listen we're supposed to be rivals and you haven't even told me your name yet. Also you can put me down now," said Hopmon, wriggling again to emphasize his point.

It's Amy," she said, relinquishing her hold and letting Hopman drop softly onto the grass. "And you're the weird looking one."

The small group had been surrounded by a horde of curious digimon, and it wasn’t long before Jupiter received her own list of questions. Being questioned by people wasn’t something Jupiter had ever shied away from, but that didn’t extent to fiendish little balls of fluff. She had seen what Leomon could do, her dress still bearing the marks, and if any of these creatures could do something like that then...

“Who are you?”
“I’m Jupiter Bourgois, the d-”
“Wait...you’re a Jupiter? I thought you were a human?”
“What? Yes, I’m a human but-”
“So you’re not a Jupiter then.’

“Stop interrupting me when I talk!” she snapped, her eye twitching ever so slightly, “I’m a human and my name is Jupiter!”

The digimon went quiet, blinking up with expressions of surprise and awe. Such silence quickly dissolved into a series of murmuring as this new information was absorbed, processed, and passed along to the next digimon. At one point they came to a cumulative agreement, ending their conversations long enough to look up at Jupiter with those spiteful little eyes. There was something unwholesome about the way they were staring at her. One took a small bounce towards her.

Jupiter crossed her arms, trying her best to look intimidating. “Don’t you dare come any closer or I’ll…

“Chase it! Chase the Jupiter!” The ringleader cried out in childish glee before bounding up to the french girl. The others quickly followed suit, and before long a mob of tiny Digimon had formed.

There was a girlish scream and Jupiter was seen running away from a hoard of bouncing balls of fluff. One in particular had latched onto the hem of her dress by clamping its jaws down on the fabric. It bobbed up and down violently as Jupiter attempted to flee, but its grip stayed true.

“GET THEM OFF, GET THEM OFF!” she yelped, flapping her hands about herself like a camper fending off a swarm of gnats. It had little effect other than providing her pursuers a good laugh.

~~~
Some time later, Jupiter finally collapsed beside a tree, too tired to continue any longer. She had never been a runner, or athletic by any stretch of the imagination... unless yoga counted. Her face was flushed in a bright crimson, her concealer having worn off some time ago. Each breath came out raspy, as if she had suddenly aged by 60 years. Her dress was in a state of disrepair, she was missing a shoe, and now she smelt like a public school's locker room. The day just kept getting better, didn't it?
The digimon who had been chasing her were now bouncing on top of her discouraged form, laughing in infernal glee from their victory. However, after realizing that their chase had ended, they quickly lost interest and left to go observe the other humans, leaving Jupiter where she was.
‘I’ve been humiliated by these stupid, mangy…animals!” she grumbled, refusing to call them by their proper name out of spite. It was all their fault, somehow -- she was sure of it.
Jupiter was in the middle of brooding, when she realized there was one of those runtish digimon sitting no more than a meter away from her. It was round in shape, like most of the others, with orange-gold fur and a glossy horn protruding out of its head. An ugly thing, truly. She gave the creature a hard look.
"What do you want?" she growled.The digimon made no reply, serving to anger Jupiter further. "You know what, I don't even care. Shoo! Leave me alone."
It continued to gaze at her with those crimson eyes, unfazed by her aggression. If Jupiter didn't know any better, she'd swear it looked bored.
Jupiter brought a hand to her face, slowing dragging it downwards in her annoyance. "You probably don't understand a word I'm saying, you stupid little thing. Go A-W-A-Y...!" Once more, it made no movement other than to blink.
Otonashi "Pretz-Never-Refers-To-Him-As" Keiran
As they drew closer, the more animalistic features of the bizarre bouncing creatures began to make themselves distinct. And yet, even at this enhanced view, Keiran couldn't help himself but to drool over the delicious potential of their cartoonish colorful bodies. Even after a cute catlike one attacked him. Even after Heinrich admonished him for such gruesome thoughts.
"Bu-But! They think of us as candy, too!" He pointed at the Digimon that had tried to take a bite out of the blonde's dress. But Heinrich wasn't paying attention, and had already strode cooly away.
What a man...
"Hey, next time you try and eat her, I'll take a bite out of you!" He thought he could get back into the blonde girl's good graces by defending her, but by the time he had proudly whirled around she, too, was gone. In fact, most of the foreigners seemed to have scattered off elsewhere. Leaving a very red-faced Otonashi and the beastman almost entirely alone.
M-M-Maybe it's finally time...to tempt him...
ゆーゆー誘惑する時。。。カモシレ。。。
Yu-Yu-Yuuwakusuru toki...kamoshire...
But before he could follow the thought of a one-on-one boss battle to its perverse conclusion, a low growling alerted his attention to the amber glare of the small "Dorimon" that had earlier targeted him. He had always considered himself a cat person, but this kitty's eyes seemed to be ringing his death knell. As if it had read his thoughts...could such a thing be possible through VR?
Blushing more heavily than ever, with a chill down his spine Otonashi forced himself to turn away from Leomon.
"I should help! Go! Water! Gotta cool off!" Remembering vaguely where the short foreigner girl with the curly hair had drifted towards, Otonashi blindly began to run.
It was only after he had trotted a good distance that his stilling heart finally allowed his steps to slow. Spending so much time of his life walking around exploring, his endurance was nothing to blink an eye at, meaning that his jog had brought him all the way to the village's far edge. There were no familiar landmarks here...not that anything could really be considered "familiar" in the landscape of the game. But at least, glancing behind him, he could still spot the colorful lights of the great tree, so he couldn't be desperately lost.
The presence of the childlike houses seemed to have withered away to complete scarcity on the verdurous plain through which the former student now walked. The grass, probably free from much of the trampling feet of the tiny Digimon, grew lush and soft beneath his feet. A cool breeze seemed to pick up from no direction in particular, punctuating a perfectly idyllic landscape. Though not much one for such quiet scenes, even Otonashi was struck by the idea that such beauty could be accessed through a computer game in the middle of bustling city center Tokyo.
At last the sound of gurgling caught his attention, causing him to remember that, however hastily stated, water had been the original object of his venture. And it certainly wouldn't hurt to wash the blush off his face and get a nice drink, in any case. But was it really thirst he was feeling inside a game?
Heading towards the babble revealed a small stream bubbling out into a pool dripping beneath the gentle shade of a tree that had taken root along its bank. The glittering currents pulled at Otonashi's heartstring and he immediately ran towards them with every intention to splash around the friendly shallows.
However, he was stalled by a strange muttering that grew in intensity as he drew near. It came from a grey creature that had to be another one of those "Digimon," though this one didn't much look like the yummy 「marcarons」 from earlier. Instead it seemed much more developed than its bouncing head brethren, having both a head and body, and flippers with which it appeared to be making markings in the dirt as it bobbed against the side of the pool. It looked deep in thought as it mumbled to itself, almost as if it was chanting some kind of creepy spell.
Is there also magic in this game?
このゲームには魔法もある?
Kono geemu ni wa mahou mo aru?
"Are you okay there?"
"どうかしている?" He said cautiously, worried what might happen if he disturbed this strange enchanter's progress, and yet too genuinely curious to really do anything to stop himself.
"Doukashiteiru?"
"Wha--!!?? W-Who are you!?"
But before Otonashi had a chance to answer, the creature had panicked, diving down into the depths.
Not very friendly, is it?
あまり親切じゃないね。。。
Amari shinsetsu janai ne...
Otonashi shrugged it off, taking the Digimon's absence as an invitation to the water's side. It was so clear and cool that it hardly seemed real...as if someone had melted a sapphire into a stream. If he had known more about gaming and its many limitations, he might have questioned the feeling of the crystalline liquid as it slid past his teeth and down his throat. But as he did not, he didn't think to, assuming that it was all perfectly reasonable under the umbrella of 'VR.'
At length he decided to take off his shoes and roll up his pants so that he might trail his ankles in the pool. It was apparently deeper than it looked, meaning he probably shouldn't chance any play. Instead he briefly pondered where the Digimon had swam off to.
I wonder what it was writing?
何を書いていたかしら。。。
Nani wo kaiteita kashira...
He turned to look down at the markings, but when he had knelt down by the water he seemed to have accidentally rubbed them away.
Ah well. Who knows if Digimon writing is even readable by humans?"
しょうがないね。デジモンの執筆が人間によっても読めるかどうか知っている?
Shouganai ne. Digimon no shippitsu ga ningen ni yotte mo yomeru ka dou ka shitteiru?
After a few more moments of relaxation, he decided it was probably more than time to head back to find the others. The next level of the demo had to be starting soon. Hopefully this time it would include some actual action.
Just as Otonashi made to stand, however, a voice from behind gave him pause.
"Weren't you ever taught that interrupting the work of others is rude?"
Otonashi turned to find the grey Digimon from earlier. It was sitting up confidently like a beached seal with its flippers crossed. Then its aloof eyes fell to where the human was perched.
"M-M-My research! You ruined it!" Before Otonashi could figure out what was going on, the creature had hurled itself towards him, presumably to shoo him away from the patch of dirt upon which he had sat. Unfortunately, in the process, he was knocked clear into the water's depths.
"CAN'T! CAN'T! I CAN'T SWIIIIIIIIIM!"
"ナイ!ナイ!オヨゲナィィィィィィイ!"
"NAI! NAI! OYOGENAIIIIIII!"
Now it was Otonashi's turn to panic, wildly thrashing about his arms in a ridiculous display. He had no idea how deep the pool was but it had seemed deep enough to drown in...
But just as he felt himself slipping under, a tug at his collar returned him to the dry world. Feeling like he had been sledgehammered by sheer shock and exhilaration, it was all Otonashi could do to grasp his soaking shirt, gasping..
"I can't believe I almost lost a life in such a pathetic way."
He didn't know exactly how many lives he had to lose, but seeing as this was a videogame, it had to be more than one, right? Still...he couldn't imagine facing the foreigners after wasting one so pitifully.
His savior, the very same as his tormentor, sat across from him, still with a very unimpressed expression gleaming through its wide blue eyes. But perhaps something else there, too. Shame? Guilt?
"You were on the bank. It's not exactly deep. Measuring that was the first thing I accomplished after deciding to rest here."
Otonashi was about to snap back a retort when he noticed one of the creature's crossed flippers was showing red.
"Hey, are you okay? It looks like you got hurt."
"It's nothing. I will have to suffer far greater injuries than this to complete my research."
"Research?"
"研究? Well, I always used to carry around a first aid kit, so it should still be in here."
"Kenkyuu?"
It had been so long since he had last donned his uniform that he had no idea what was in its pockets, and hadn't even thought to check until just then. But luckily the small white box his mother had asked him to hold on to was still present. The plastic had protected most of its contents, though everything was still a bit damp.
With a smile Otonashi admired his handiwork. If nothing else, he was pretty skilled at dealing with wounds. In return the Digimon just gaped at him with a mixture of surprise, curiosity, and embarrassment. Every time those blue eyes turned on him, Otonashi felt as if they were boring into his soul.
"What's the matter?"
"どうしたの?" He asked absentmindedly to try and placate its stare.
"Doushita no?"
The Digimon paused, as if carefully considering the words it was about to speak.
"Are you the one called Otonashi Keiran?"
"音無キーランと言いませんか?"
"Otonashi Kiiran to iimasen ka?"
Rather than pursuing the oddity of the question, Otonashi, after a long morning of nothing but English grating on his ears, was too distracted by his delight at hearing his native tongue.
"Huh? You can also speak Japanese!!??"
"アラ?日本語もできるー!?"
"Ara? Nihongo mo dekiru!!??"
"Japanese?"
"日本語?"
"Nihongo?"
Despite his excitement, the weird grey Digimon just lifted a flipper to its chin. Sadly the bandage was already starting to slip off. This is what happens when you couldn't afford the waterproof brand.
Wait...
water...
pocket...
wet...
"This is baaaaad."
"まぁぁぁーずい" With a tremor of terror Otonashi reached into his other pocket, pulling out the dripping remnants of Ayumu's phone. If there was no rice in this game, then surely it was doomed. Even a fancy iPhone7 couldn't come back from that kind of water-logged death. The Digimon, for its part, seemed unfazed by Otonashi's mounting despair, ignoring his trembling hands to peer at the device with interest.
"Maaaazui."
"He's going to kill me..."
"This was my friend's phone, and now you broke it! We broke it! I broke it! Aaagh! First stepping on it, now this. ウチを殺すツモリ。。。and it won't even be fun..."
"Uchi wo korosu tsumori..."
"But Otonashi Keiran, look. It's not broken. It's...glowing."
"Eh!?"
"TAMER OTONASHI KEIRAN AND DIGIMON PUKAMON HAVE BEEN REGISTERED"
"Purple?...Green? Awesome..."
"紫色?。。。緑?スゲ。。。"
Murasaki?...Midori? Suge..."
The once grey device was now a soft indigo accented by yellow, green, and red details. The screen also appeared to be active.
Was it always this colorful? I hope Ayumu likes purple...
"Fascinating."
"魅惑的ですね"
"Miwakuteki desu ne."
"Japanese! Ja Pa Nese!"
"Ah! You just did it again! That's Japanese! 日本語!ニ ホン ゴ!"
"Nihongo! Ni Hon Go!"
"But Otonashi Keiran, of course I can speak in a way that you can understand."
"しかし音無キーラン、もちろんあなたが理解する方法で話すことができます。"
"Shikashi Otonashi Kiiran, mochiron anata ga rikai suru houhou de hanasukoto ga dekimasu."
"What is going on!? Stop saying weird stuff. This is too much, even for VR..."
"VR? What is this 'VR'?"
"Huh, Virtual Reality. Experience. I got it already!"
"えぇ, VR is...VR. バーチャルリアリティ. But I know, I know. You're going to tell me this isn't VR. It's part of the 経験 !もぉリョカイ"
"Ee, Biicharu Riaritei. Keikan! Mou Ryokai!"
"Hmm? Virtual Reality, you say...Well, this is the Digital World, so I guess those could be synonyms. Fascinating. I'll have to note, humans refer to our world as the 'Virtual Reality.'"
"Notebooks"
"How are you gonna make a note if you have no hands? Do they even have ノート in this game? "
"Nooto"
"Game? I can assure you, my studies are no game."
"Studying...? Isn't that kind of boring...Hey! Wa-wa-wa-wait just one minute! I just realized, earlier you said 'Otonashi Keiran,' didn't you? Why?"
"勉強?ツマネかな。。。ね!ちょ-ちょ-ちょ-ちょっと待ってくれよ!前に「オトナシキーラン」といいうきがついたね。なんでするの?"
"Benkyou? Tsumane kana...Ne! Cho-cho-cho-chotto matte kureyo! Mae ni 'Otonashi Keiran' to iiu ki ga tsuita ne. Nande suru no?"
The Digimon fell silent once again, choosing to only gaze into Otonashi's blank face. Otonashi stared back, yet another uncomfortable chill running down his spine at the thought that he had done something wrong. Was the game broken now? He felt as if he could fall forever into the blue screen of the Digimon's eyes...
"Sadly, I do not know. I only know that you are Otonashi Keiran, and our meeting was fate."
"F-Fate!?" He suddenly imagined a delicate red thread wrapping around his pinky finger to the strange creature's...flipper.
"I always thought I'd end up with a nice girl, not a foot tall furry dinosaur."
At this the creature lifted itself, giving Otonashi a firm whack on his shin.
"Ah...wha...what was that for!?" He looked down at the Digimon, betrayed.
"I am not 'foot tall furry dinosaur.' I'm Pukamon. You would do well to remember it."
"Huh? Pukamon? Strange name...Puka Puka...Hey, is it okay if I call you 'Puka?' Its cuter that way."
"アラ?プカモン?変なかしら。。。プカプカ。。。ね、「プカ」といいういいっか?可愛いいほそ。"
"Ara? Pukamon? Hen na kashira...Puka Puka...Ne, 'Puka' to iiu iisska? Kawaii hosou ne."
"Cuteness has nothing to do with it!"
"可愛いさは関係ありません!I prefer to be called what I am."
"Kawaisa wa kankei arimasen! "
"Suit yourself then, Puka. You already know this, but I'm Otonashi Keiran. Either 'Otonashi' or 'Keiran,' you can call me whatever~"
"いいよ、プカ。も喋るけど、音無キーランだ。音無がキーランかどかは問題ない〜よ。"
"Iiyo, Puka. Mo shaberu kedo, Otonashi Kiiran desu. Otonashi ga Kiiran ka do ka wa mondai nai~yo."
He stopped.
"Wait...does this mean...we're going to be friends?" He could feel his cheeks reddening and his eyes shining at the thought. Despite his better judgement, his heart warmed a little. After muddling through the first half of the morning, at last! A boon companion to help navigate this strange and confusing virtual world. It gave him inspiration...hope...that maybe he could befriend the foreigner characters as well.
Finally, this game was starting to show great promise!...
"With your help, I'm sure I can definitely get the next girl to slap me~"
The response was yet another sharp whack.
"What are you saying? You'd better learn to focus if you're going to live up to my standards, Otonashi Keiran."
...Or...maybe not.
Darya De Lucia
Darya sat down, panting. Kokoman was fast, darting here and there as they played, knocking the ball high into the air and sending it soaring towards Darya. Sometimes the little Digimon would jump or spin before hitting the ball, adding in little tricks to make the game more difficult. Darya had tried to do the same but she wasn't as coordinated. Finally, she had to rest.
"I haven't played like this since my brother and I were little kids," she grinned.
Kokomon rolled the ball over to Darya before joining her. "You have a brother?"
"His name's Maverick. I was hoping Leomon would be able to help me get back to him but I don't know if that's possible."
Kokomon was quiet for a moment. She hopped up onto Darya's lap, wrapping her long ears around her like a hug. "I don't want you to go."
Darya sighed. She gently petted the little creature. Her fur was soft like a rabbit's.
"You can stay with me. Leomon wouldn't mind. We can play all the time and go exploring and listen to Leomon's stories."
I need to get home but I've no idea how to get back. And I don't want to hurt Kokomon's feelings. Something inside her stirred and she realized she wasn't sure she'd be able to leave Kokomon behind even if she did find a way home. Sighing again, she cradled Kokomon in her arms. "I guess . . . we should talk to Leomon about this."
"Yay!" Kokomon bounced up with delight.
Darya giggled. There was no end to these Digimon's energy. Getting up, she looked around. Where would he be?
"This way," Kokomon called, easily hopping away.
Darya followed her.
They only made it half way through the village before Kokomon stopped and looked up at Darya. "I'm tired. Carry me." She stretched out her ears like a toddler reaching for an adult. Darya scooped her up and cuddled her as she walked. Kokomon hummed with pleasure.
They found Leomon still at the edge of the village. Most of the other travelers had wandered off somewhere but a few still hung back. The young Digimon swarm from earlier had mostly dispersed.
All seemed at peace, in its own way, despite the mischievous little digimon playing and roughhousing with whomever they can.
The village was picturesque, a place where any person could come and relax from the wild worries of the wide, woeful world.
Where even the newcomers could let the confusion melt away to so that they could form a new understanding of their predicament, even with little digimon poking and prodding them to play at every turn. it was a place of peace, but not to the knowledge of the newcomers, this peace was hard fought by the lionesque protector of the village. Being a guardian is a tricky thing, a lapse in the guard can cause innumerable problems if one is not careful, and one must always be certain to finish one's patrol, if you are to prevent conflict to come to those who are not ready, willing, nor able, to fight.
Especially should one be the lone guardian of the village.
A lapse in his guard occurred today with the introduction of the strange humans who became stranded in this world.
And on this day, somebody took advantage of the lapse.
It started, with the squeal of three little digimon being crushed underfoot.
Ogremon, a long standing nemsis to leomon, relished the excitement this day brought. All this time waiting and he finally had the opportunity he was looking for, he and his goblimons would destroy, pillage and kill this pesky little village and all inside! And he would finally, finally have defeated that worthless leomon! Grind his face into the dirt and watch his pathetic little friends die!
"Go! Wrangle them all up! Don't let any of them get away!" barked the hideous digimon to his gang of goblimon, the little green creatures running wild over the village in a wave of devilish glee. "Leomon! I know you're here! Face me! Or your little friends will find themselves crushed underfoot! Each and every one of your little pathetic-" his call out was soon ended with a swiftly approaching Leomon leaping towards him with impressive speeds. Smiling, as much as the slack jawed ogremon could really do, he readied himself for what would be the true final battle between them!
"Today you die!" The two clashed their weapons together, and erupted into an immense battle.
As they did, the goblimons wrecked havoc across the village, pestering, capturing and toying with all the baby digimon! And that's not all, they pose a serious threat to our protagonists as well! Everyone must pull together to beat back the goblimon and save the baby digimon! How?
This Digimon’s club isn’t its only form of attack. Watch out for fireballs that explode on impact and the large stones it can summon and throw.
Darya De Lucia
Darya froze, clutching Kokomon close to her chest. All of the little Digimon were so nice and Leomon had only attacked them because he was protecting the village; it hadn't occured to her there might be some Digimon who would hurt others. She stumbled back a step. The young Digimon squeaked and scattered, some chased away by little goblins. We have to get out of here. We need to find somewhere safe. Darya stumbled back, ready to run.
A larger goblin called out, taunting Leomon, Challanging him.
Leomon can take care of himself. I need to find the others and get out of here. Turning, she ran through the village, searching for the other humans. They needed to be warned. She rounded a corner. Three evil-grinning goblin-things blocked her path.
"Ooo, what digimon is this?" One of them asked, eyeing Darya.
She took a step back, noticing the net over the shoulder of one of the goblins. Inside were three crying digimon.
"It won't fit in the net." The goblin's gaze fell on Kokomon. His grin broadened. "That one will."
Kokomon whimpered and clung to Darya's arm.
Darya snapped. These little monsters were hunting babies. Growling, she bent down and picked up a rock. "Kokomon," she murmered, "you're faster. I need you to run and find a place to hide. Don't come out until me or Leomon come find you."
"But the goblimons . . . they'll catch you."
Darya hugged Kokomon. She didn't want to let her go, but if she was going to fight, she couldn't let the little digimon get hurt. "Please-"
The goblimons roared and charged, raising their spiked clubs.
Darya screamed. She threw the rock. It bounced off the creature's shoulder. the goblimon was unfazed.
"Shit!" Turning, Darya ran.
Lilly sat with Tenamon for over an hour trying to explain everything that had lead her to this village; but she could tell it was all going over her head.
To be fair, Lilly didn't understand any of it herself.
Part of her still wasn't completely sure this wasn't some vivid stress dream .
Finally She gave up and simply changed the subject.
Her curiosity about Tenamon winning out over getting any answers about where she was or how to get home.
Tenamon was such a strange
Fascination for Lilly.
One part adorable stuffed animal, one part new species of of plant.
The fact that this strange thing it only could speak but in Swedish made it all the more endearing.
The more she spoke to her, the more she found herself talking to her like a child rather then a 'thing'.
But then again, Lilly tended to do that with her plants at home.
For Tenamon this strange new kind of digimon was such an exiting discovery.
She was sure she had to be some kind of plant Digimon; brown trunk and violet foliage on top.
She even smelled earthy, like soil and roses.
Tenamon decided that she liked Humons'.
As the two spoke, they felt a unique bond begining to form.
Lilly the plant fanatic and
Tenamon the actual plant, it was a match made in the digital heavens.
The two became fast friends, much faster then usual for Lilly's timid nature.
This village seemed to bring out the best her.
Unfortunately that serenity of this little town would be short lived for Lilly and Tenamon.
Without warning, a small group of green digimon started wrecking the near by park.
The very same one where Lilly and her new friends were playing just a short time ago.
Lilly couldn't believe any digimon could cause so much destruction.
She thought all of them were nice like Mr.Leomon or Tenamon.
In shock she asked "what are those?"
Tenamon herself seemed to be in shock that these green things were taring up the village.
Shaking in her roots she explained "Those are goblimon! They are trouble, big trouble! We gotta tell Leomon."
Lilly shook her head as she backed away from the destruction saying "N Nej, /No/ we have to get out of here."
As the gobimon smashed everything in sight with demented glee Lilly felt a panic begining to set in.
She scooped up Tenamon in her arms and tried to make a brake for it.
After only a few steps she heard a digimon scream.
Lilly looked back in horror to see one of her little friends had been struck with an enormous rock.
The gobimon's cruelty didn't end with stones as they started using fireballs to strike down any digimon they could see.
Lilly was mortified and felt almost faint at the sight.
Her head felt like it was spinning as once again she was helpless to stop the violence.
With tears in her eyes she shouted "Stop it!"
And with a free hand she picked up a stone and threw it, striking one of the gobimon.
This got the attention of the entire group, who leered back at her and Tenamon with wicked toothy smirks.
Lilly could only stare back with a blank (what was I thinking) stare before muttering "oh skit.." /shit/
Running for her life now with at least 4 green devils in pursuit Lilly did her best to dodge fireballs and debris from other gobimon havoc.
The entire time she screamed for help but to no avail.
Everyone else was either busy with trouble of their own or in hiding.
Suddenly, Lilly tripped.
She was able to turn and land on her back, saving Tenamon from being crushed but at the cost of badly twisting her ankle.
Now too injured to run Lilly could only use her good leg to inch away as she cradled Tenamon in her arms to keep her safe.
The Gobimon only stalked in closer to their downed target.
With toothy grins and depraved giggling they circled the two girls.
Preparing for the worst Lilly closed her eyes and screamed.
But Tenamon actually jumped out toward the danger.
Her eyes full of defiant determination she spread her nubby arms out to shield Lilly.
It was at that moment the device in Lilly's pocket had vibrated its self out of her pocket.
No longer a dead piece of junk it was alive with all kinds of functions streaming across the screen.
Tenamon seemed to almost resonate with this as she seemed to glow with a strange power.
Suddenly the light intensified as she called out
"Tenamon digivolve to..Palmon!"
Lilly's little bud friend has so how transformed into a mandrake like creature about half as tall as Lilly.
A huge a beautiful flower adorned her head and root like claws dug into the earth beneath her.
Tenamon, now Palmon sneered at the Gobimon as her 'fingers' grew into long vines.
Without hesitation she shouted "poison Ivy!" as she whipped the whole group in one giant swoop.
As the gang of gobimon fell to the ground they began twitching and making strange sounds.
It seemed the touch of the vines had some kind of paralytic effect .
Turning back to Lilly Palmon asked "mår du bra?"/are you okay/
Lilly's face showed every bit of her astonishment as she carefully picked up the device and looked back and forth at it and Palmon.
All she could answer was a short "j..ja"
/y ..yeah/
Hurrying to her side Palmon looked over Lilly and frowned "oh no..your hurt. We need to get you out of here."
Looking down at her ankle, Lilly considered the offer, but she knew deep inside that she couldn't let the Digi-babies just get slaughtered.
Steeling herself she announced
" Nej /no/ Tenamon. I can't..I can't let anymore Innocent digimon get hurt."
Palmon smiled back at her and crossed her arms saying "well your certainly braver all of a sudden"
Waving a finger the sassy Digimon corrected "and its Palmon now"
"Palmon?" Lilly asked.
To which Palmon explained "Yeap. I digivolved for some reason. . I guess I just wanted to keep you safe form those Gobimon.. But why didn't you digivolve? "
A bit confused Lilly said plainly "Because I'm a human"
Palmon only weaved a hand and remarked "well whatever a hu-mon digivolves into will have to wait. We need to find Leomon."
With a nod of agreement and a friend to lean on, the two hobbled off as fast as Lilly's ankle would allow.
Ravyn Cooper
As the others dispersed, so did Ravyn. Though rather than being whisked away by the little Digimon she found herself wandering aimlessly. Leomon had told her he needed to finish his patrol before he could help them anymore so they had some time to kill it seemed. Though being alone allowed her mind to wander, making a pathetic attempt to piece all this together. The digital world... they'd been plucked from their homes and thrown into some strange, new world and just left to blindly stumble around. It was likely for the best that Leomon had found them, misunderstanding aside.
If something so intimidating was one of the 'good guys' Ravyn wasn't sure she wanted to meet what was on the other end of the spectrum...
Leaning against the large tree at the heart of the village she slowly slid to the ground. "None of this makes sense," she finally groaned, pulling her knees to her chest and resting her head against them.
koromon_by_athosiana-d4t3z2n.png
"What doesn't make sense?" A small voice asked beside her.
Ravyn looked over to see a little digimon nestled in the grass next to her. She recognized it as the one that had tried to take a bite out of Jupiter's dress when they'd first arrived at the village. "It's a long story..."
"It's okay, I like stories!" The pink ball of a digimon bounced up onto Ravyn's knees. Crimson eyes met amber in what equated to a silent debate. She remembered Leomon mentioning that many digimon began their lives in this village. Chances were the one on her lap was a digimon's equivalent to a child. Even if I tried to explain things, they probably wouldn't understand.
"I'm Koromon, by the way!" The digimon, apparently Koromon, chirped to break the lingering silence. "Who are you? I've never seen a digimon that looked like you." Of course he neglected to mention the only digimon he'd seen aside from the other children were Leomon and the other guardians watching them.
Ravyn blinked, "I'm Ravyn . . . and I'm not a digimon."
"Eh...?" Koromon's eyes widened, "Not a digimon? What are you then??"
"I'm human."
"Oh, a hu-mon, got it!"
"No, not-" Ravyn groaned, she wasn't going to get anywhere even if she tried. "Nevermind..."
Koromon opened his mouth to speak but was cut short by a pained cry cutting through the air. Both he and Ravyn looked around in an attempt to spot the source of the cry. "What-?" Smoke was already beginning to creep into the air from the barrages of fireballs the Goblimon gleefully threw.
Seems she was getting to meet the not so great digimon whether she wanted to or not as horde began pouring into the village. Ravyn scrambled to her feet, holding the small digimon close as she ran. So much for getting some time to try and get their bearings.
Leomon's enraged roar could be heard as he charged the challenging Ogremon. His blade clashed with cackling beast's club, the two practically nose to nose. "What happened to being the untouchable guardian of this wasted space?"
With a sneer, Leomon replied with his Juuouken. The blast of energy made the ogre stagger back a few feet.
Ducking into a nearby hut, Ravyn struggled to catch her breath. Not being athletic by any stretch of the imagination, the sprint wasn't all that easy.
Or fast.
Not being able to do much of anything to stop the chaos surrounding them, Koromon could only nuzzle up closer to her in an attempt to hide from it all. "Make it stop..."
Is there really even a safe place to hide around here?" Amber eyes cautiously peered out from the small building. Her thoughts raced again with renewed worry and fear, her heart pounded against her ribs. A startled yelp escaped her throat as a stone was hurled through one of the walls.
Run.
They had to get away.
Sprinting from the hut, she ducked a stone spotted out of the corner of her eye. Fighting didn't seem to be much of an option, she never really had any formal training let alone experience. Being sorely outnumbered did little to help matters. "Fuck!" Ravyn found herself crashing to the ground as a stone struck her shoulder. Quickly surrounded on all sides, she did the only thing that came to her panicking mind. Curl around Koromon in an attempt to protect him.
Wizarmon_collectors.png
"Thunder cloud!" A bright flash. Cries of pain. Retreating footsteps. Ravyn wasn't sure whether or not she even wanted to see what was happening. "Are you alright?"
Ravyn slowly looked up at the robed figure standing in front of her. Blue skin and pointed ears aside, he certainly looked more human than any of the other digimon she'd seen so far. Even if his clothes looked like they were stolen from a Kingdom Hearts wardrobe. "Y-yeah..." She slowly stood, still holding Koromon close.
Though the little digimon didn't stay long as he leapt from her arms, "Wizarmon!"
"Shh, shhh, it'll be alright."
"This... this isn't happening because of us, is it?"
Wizarmon looked up at her with dark blue eyes. He still wasn't sure what to make of these supposed humans appearing in the village. Had their appearance not lined up with Socerimon's dreams the past several nights he would have attacked them on sight too. "It is not." He replied finally before passing Koromon back to her. "There's a path leading under the great tree in the center of the village. Take him there."
Spying a charging Goblimon, he swung his staff and sent the creature tumbling away in a large gust of wind. "Now go!"
Ravyn didn't see any point in trying to argue with him, it wasn't like she could help fight.
So she ran.
