Fiona Snowfell was born into a family of travelling "performers" with a lucrative business. They were some of the greatest con artists and tricksters in the land. Fiona's parents could convince you that the sky was actually the ground or that the rapier they'd just bought two towns over was once wielded by some ancient king. They were that good and made a large sum of money tricking people into spending more than they should. When it turned out their daughter actually COULD sing they decided to swindle people out of more of their money. They began proclaiming that their daughter's music could cure your ailments and people flocked to listen to the little girl.
When she was thirteen however, she learned what her parents were up to refused to be a part of their show anymore. She argued with them for hours until she finally just decided that she was done with their troop. She'd been glad to learn to fight and use her whip to manipulate, but she couldn't stand the lying anymore. She left out with only the money her parents gave her, her actual cut from the last job, and the clothes she wore to perform in. She started up joining other groups but with every troop or group of travelers it turned to the same thing. Lie about her abilities and then just make a profit.
Faced with the realization that she couldn't escape that life. She embraced her family heritage and began to lie cheat and steal her way to survival. She needn't spend a coin when she merely had to entice a man with warm eyes and a good bluff. She'd make off like a bandit and anywhere she went she could easily sing her way into a room. No, the only thing she needed was food and drink from onlookers. Now faced with the fact that the orcs could ruin her way of life, she's decided to join up and help save this pathetic world of liars and thieves.
