So what's your favourite grim dark style book. I suppose I'll see plenty of Warhammer 40k here but I myself find the Legend of Kell by Andy Remic to be the darkest and most realistic fantasy novel I've seen. The built up of heroes organizing and trying to defeat an unspeakable evil only to be beaten like a bunch of children is damn satisfying. I find that it shows what would actually happen given the circumstance. (Don't read it if you're not keen on really dark stuff. Rape, Murder etc.). But if that's out I do wonder why you're reading this.
