Other Favorite Kinds of Roleplays

WeissLover

The Yuri Lover~
Hi~! I'm a rather.... New girl, when it comes down to Role-playing. But I'm really, really interested in it! I believe that I'm good at this, so I figured out it could be fun to see what you guys like! I personally love Romance roleplays, or a bit more dark ones sometimes if I'm in the mood! And well, k like it the more when it is in between girls, I'm more comfortable with other girls. I hope I get to know the community!.

Hi! Welcome to the website and I hope you have fun!

I like pretty much building a relationship between the characters in the roleplay. Not necessarily romantic (I feel that it could happen unexpectedly but it has to be organic), just have them become close with each other, share their stories and go through the hardships of life together. I guess that I like organic roleplay in general. Being able to write a story with another person is a lot of fun to me and it helps a lot with developing and perfecting your characters and writing styles.

O-Oh! I see. I must say that I agree, doing a roleplay in the two characters develop together on a cute and organic fashion is always impressive and fun! Glad to see someone replied ^^ I can’t wait to meet more people and play~!

For boring, practical reasons, I like school and similar roleplays. Characters can either already know each other or be total strangers until they meet at lunch or something. There are a bajillion variations and themes one could come up with. Et cetera.

I like a lot of different kinds of roleplays. I could say most of mine are fantasy/adventure/action and about 50% of them have romance. If it's not romance, it's friendship. Because, well, the characters have to be connected somehow to make it interesting.
But honestly I'd be down to whatever as long as I click with rp partner and we have similar mindset, because then it's easy to make a plot and play it in whatever direction we want.

The only thing I'm adamant about is playing 1x1 rp only. It's very unlikely I join a group rp, unless a good friend of mine asks me to join their rp. Then I may reconsider ^^

I have a few different sets with subsets that I like:
Modern, Futuristic and Apocalyptic, with subset's usually focused on the hardcore aspect of either civilian law enforcement life or being in the military and having to rp in a setting where every single thing related to the scene is rp'ed, from radio transmissions, vehicle startup procedure, all the way down to stuff such as deck personnel doing their jobs on the deck and launching/recovering aircraft on/from the deck. As far as civilian law enforcement goes I prefer to rp the subset of the same as the military one but just civilian-side, but with an added aspect of tactical operations with s.w.a.t teams/quick reaction teams going in and doing stuff for their jobs like: warrant service (both high and low risk), high value escort, counterterrorism operations, medevacs, etc.

I really like comedy roleplays! I prefer threads where the writing is a bit goofy, and no one is taking themselves too seriously. I'm not too fond of very serious roleplays, unless there's something inherent ridiculous about them - a terrible apocalypse with a comedic NPC or silly event such as spilled coffee on a nuclear reactor, for example. So far, fantasy and scifi seem to be the best source of those kinds of stories/writing. Fandom RPs depend a bit more on what the GM is going for, though I at least take a look at every Pokemon group interest check I see go up. I'm hoping to get a chance to play my middle-aged father figure who goes on a journey to prove that he's cool to his kids again.

Multifandom, just so you can have Solid Snake fight stuff like Bowser.
It's weird and fun.

Addition to my original post:
I like slow burn romances, it gives the roleplay a bit more realistic feeling to the rp, unless the characters are described of being able to fall in love and wanting to go out with each other the first time they meet and don't know anything about each other. It gives the characters a chance to get to know each other and then find something to love or hate about the other's personalities/quirks.

Fandom RPs are probably my #1 since they're a lot easier to set up, even when the lore and general plot is very complex. I also really like romance, but only with RP partners I mesh well with, tbh.

Welcome to Urban Fantasy ville population me and whoever I kidnap and drag there.

But seriously, I really like Urban Fantasy and that's all I have to say on the matter (and also regular fantasy and sci-fi are good too, I guess)

I’m not too picky but i like fantasy.

Anything with magical animals.

Harry Potter AUs

Inspired by fantasy novels I’ve read

TAMORA PIERCE one day I will find someone who knows who this is

Gold Age comics -slash- campy magical girls. I like over the top cheesy justice

Sucker for romance or mystery.

Like fandoms (with canons so OCs don't surprise me with strange plot twists) as well as original stuff (modern, fantasy, light sci-fi) too.

I don't really do historical unless I get wiggle room to spice it up.

I don't do nation RPs or post-apoc or zombie/supernatural type things really. Not too big into action/combat heavy stuff either.

Fantasy and Medieval, action and adventure. Roleplays that have makes a whole lot of sense plot twists like the so called go guy is really the antagonist type of plot twist.

Fandoms, lots of love and fluff and happiness. Life is so stressful and hard, I wanna write about something that can give me that warm fuzzy feeling.

I sometimes dabble in original stuff but it depends.

Combat, bit of gore, hateful rivalry. Challenges my friendly nature.

Fantasy, action, romance and adventure as well.

I always need a grand adventure, conspiracies, a thirst for justice... if it doesn't feel like a shonen animu or a new primetime action series I'm probably not happy.

I'm a sucker for Deity RP

Not the kind where you play some teenage demigod struggling on mortal world, the type where you play the deity and is almighty over puny humans

1.Anime-esque RPs
I consume anime and manga at industrial levels, I am a die-hard fan of the medium, and as such, RPs that really remind me of it, or give me the vibe of roleplaying an anime one of the things that get me the most excited about working on.

2.Comedy RPs
Comedy is my favorite genre, of all time, on anything. I love humor and all the creative and whacky premises that come from it. I love being able to tackle issues with just enough seriousness to explore them, but not so much as to step on a landmine for not fully understanding some things. I like being in a good mood over a depressed one. And for many reasons as such I love comedy to death and love comedy-based RPs as well.

3.Transformation/curse RPs
One pattern I find in my character preferences is that I often enjoy playing and exploring characters that end up transformed or cursed (often both), so an RP that lets me explore that is absolutely fantastic...to an extent. I don't like it so much when everyone has my gimmick, so this tends to apply more to 1x1s.

4.Rps with passion and planning
How do I even put this? I like it when RPs have passion driving them. In most RPs people are there but they aren't particularly proactive and enthusiastic. Often people eventually just feel along for the ride at best. I know though, that any RP where the partner is genuinely in love with things as well and not just willing but happy to contribute that's a great RP.

I am a planner by nature. I prefer to have things planed than be paraded with surprises. Very rarely do I get to properly plan with people.

So though it's a truly exotic bird, finding such an RP is always an awesome discovery!

5.Game RPs

Specifically VRMMORPG types. I tend to absolutely that kind ignore mesh of fantasy with modern or science fiction, of a deep integrated mechanical aspect and a more freeform writing, plus there is the nostalgia for my wow days.

6.Trope RPs
I absolutely love when people can get past the rep and look at the potential of embracing and subverting tropes. Trope-savvy RPs where people can have fun playing around with tropes are particularly fun. XD

7.Whatever I'm in the mood for and values me.

Honestly though, for the most part my favorite RPs heavily depend on what I am consuming at the time. Though if there is one thing that is constant, it's this: I want to be valued. I want the RP and partner(s) to want me, as I am, to be there. If I'm just replaceable then I probably won't be that satisfied. If I don't get to contribute or nobody cares about what I have to offer and show, then I won't be satisfied.

My favorite kind of roleplays are fandoms, but I also like darker roleplay themes along with romance and maybe mystery as well. That's mostly what I like to rp, there's probably some genres I'm leaving out that I like to write about.
