First, sorry for your headache. I know from personal experience that they suck.

Second, sorry again for putting a pause into your hyperactive brain on this game. Was not intentional, and thanks for understanding!

Third, I am liking the changes made. Its not like we have to tell you, but this is your game, and if you want to make changes to the timeline, go for it! That helps to keep people like me and Sherwood from knowing too much in advance of the story!

1. Thanks! I'd be all right if my brain would just let me sleep. But since I'm up, may as well do something fun and chat here on RpN with you two! =)

2. Again, no worries! You couldn't have known that one line would get my attention like that; I feel you were just trying to reasonably provide Toph's perspective (a perspective only you can provide). You get benefit of the doubt from me, Psychie - you've more than earned it! =)

3. That's appreciated! Once and one time only, I asked my players for direct advice concerning sensitive elements in my Sharseya tabletop game. That was a mistake (except for Kaerri and two other players at the time). I realized I had put my love of my players' opinions ahead of my own story designs and in the doing, I compromised my integrity for their happiness. Turned out that "happiness" held quite a bit of "pro-player" decisions on their part that I should not have budged on.

Now, over 10 or so years later, I continue to do things my way and ask for player feedback. I'll always care about your opinions, because in my mind, though we've never met in-person, we've still been gaming together for years! You're my friends! =)

Thanks for sharing that video you linked. I was not aware of much of the issues behind the show.

Mario gives off an evil grin. "Not after being half melted in a radioactive hellstorm they won't be working. Between Cera, the Broadsword team and myself, we can fake the damage to be bad enough to cook the electronics. We may have to be slightly exposed to some rads, but nothing that will kill us or make us glow in the dark for a while."

Sherwood Sherwood Sorry, but I am completely lost. The kind of radiation required to harm bugs made with mega-damage materials would kill a human being (as it would have to do mega-damage).

Could you explain Mario's theory in detail here? I'm not understanding it.

Hmm. I am hoping that we can walk that narrow line of having the equipment damaged just enough to keep it from working without cooking us, with what wasn't damaged in the blast taken out in the crash landing. Even having the broadcast range of the bugs would work for this, just so long as it takes time for us to be located.

Do we know what the effective broadcast range of these bugs is? We may not have to worry about them if it is a relatively short range; we just would need to ditch the fighters somewhere more remote before 'fixing' our radio and calling for help or marching out on our own.

That might work if the bugs were only on the mecha and your characters were not in them. I don't see how it would work on your mega-suits at all. The bugs are all over the insides of your mecha and mega-suits. How do you not melt when you're taking on radioactive mega-damage just inches from your very skin? And what source are you considering to get this kind of radiation?

It's a creative idea (and you get xp for thinking of it) - I just can't see how your characters are supposed to have survived it.

Good point. But, as small as the bugs are, they will have to have a very short range. Psychie's idea of dumping us out in the middle of nowhere might work well enough.

Absolutely so. Mario is a communications guy, right? Let's see what the dice have to say about this. Roll a Surveillance roll for me (or do you want me to roll my orange dice?).

I don't have Surveillance. It is not a MOS Skill for the Communications Specialist. Would Advanced Electronic Warfare work?

Electronic Countermeasures also covers it and I see Mario has that. How do you want to resolve the roll?

I'll roll it here, with an Action Point added in for good measure. I have a 75% base skill.

I don't see a Throw Dice option here, so would you do it for me, please?

Erase the Action Point and go for it. Good luck!

Action Point has been marked off, but like I posted, I don't have the option to roll dice in the OCC board.

I misunderstood when you said "I'll roll it here." What was I thinking? =)

Also... where in the world is the description for Advanced Electronic Warfare? I can't seem to find it in Shadow Chronicles or Masters Saga Sourcebook...

And... it doesn't apply. Rats!

O.K. On the Action Point roll, I have rolled my orange d6 and get a... 3. That's good for a 15% bonus bringing Mario's total to 90%.
There is a negative on this roll given the difficulty for the information I'm seeing if Mario knows (only -5% given his excellent education and specialization in Communications). So 85%.
I roll my orange d10 twice and get... 97%! Oh, come on!

*sigh* That's within possible fumble territory (see Shop Talk). I have to roll again, hoping to get a result no higher than 79% (80-100 indicates a fumble).

Sherwood? Do you want the orange dice again or another color?

I found in my Masters Saga book that the helmet radios of the Megasuits we have is 2.5 miles. That might help with the range issue....

Well, crap. Keep the orange one. I'll take my chances.

Well, you have the techs on the Broadsword to backstop you from making a huge mistake.... But we will still have to razz you about this.

O.K. Rolling the orange d10 again, I get a... 59%. That's a heck of a lot better than a 95%.

So, Mario avoids the fumble but has no damn clue what to do about the dozens of bugs riddling your mecha and mega-suits. Sure, he can go for the obvious (find them and pull them out one by one, which will likely take forever). But otherwise, he has no idea what will happen if he does start trying to remove them, overloading them, messing with them, etc.
