The Deutsches Heer in WW1 is nothing compared to the Wehrmacht. The reason the Germans were so successful in WW2 was because they adopted the Allies' tactics at the end of the war that were effective in beating the Germans and then improved on them. By WW2, the Germans had far better tanks, mobile artillery, mechanized infantry, and dive bombers that would be able to defeat the Deutsches Heer with minimal problems.
