Inside GNN Plaza

Violet and Hailey stood in the meeting room with the current Prime Minister, a short, stocky man who is starting through early stages of Ghoulification. "Our forces are starting thier movements into western Mass, and the ones in the Manhattan Commonwealth are about ready to move into Upstate New York" he said. "What about rumours of a large slaver complex, as well as Gunners and Outcasts bases in Connecticut and Rhode Island wastelands?" Hailey asked. "That is what you and Violet are going to set up a team to work out, now we can't offer much help, but take one of our mercenaries and do you best to find others to help, I'm sure the Army Development Force will provide the funds to hire people" the PM said. Violet and Hailey nodded and excused themselves.

"That mercinary from the west, Seras I believe her name is, would be a good addition" Violet said. "I agree...and I think I have heard some rumours of tribals and former Raiders who we might be able to bring in, I'll have the messages sent out through the channels" Hailey said. They both stepped into the vertibird and flew towards The Castle to collect thier equipment and the supplies they would need. Couriers would find thier ways to the people the two would select, telling them to come up to Fort Strong, which was in the process of being rebuilt.

Donny Kain "The Juggernaut"
Location: Fort Strong
Interactions: No one yet
Being a hero was hard work. Despite the preparations he's made, things weren't easy for Donny or his little kingdom he's made for himself. Aside from his personal keep, Fort Foundry, he had three settlements that he relied on to keep him and his gang well kept. There was Oasis which had a water refiner, Rock Farm which grew food and raised brahmin, and the Crossroad Theater which served as his main trade hub. In his early days, these three locations were all he needed to live comfortably, and all he and his men had to do was make their rounds to keep any drifters and thieves from messing with his turf. He's even trained some settlers to be passable shots, so they could defend themselves if he wasn't around. But with the Gunners making landfall in the Connect, what Donny and most locals call Connecticut, there's been a notably uptick in raider activity. A lot of his old enemies have gotten desperate or bold. They've been hitting his supply lines, either because they lost their own or because Donny was so busy trying to protect his own that he doesn't have time chasing after bandits.

Oasis was getting hit the worse due to the difficulty for Donny to actually build much of anything there. Most of the supplies and tech he has there goes to maintaining and repairing the water refiners. There simply wasn't enough supplies for him to build turrets, and there wasn't enough space to post guard towers and check points. The best he could do is keep his gang closer since they were better fighters than the civvies there, but that meant he had to take on the gangs himself. And if it was just the raiders he had to deal with, that'd be no problem. A typical raider might be trouble for your average settlement guard, but Donny has taken on whole gangs himself and come out without a scratch. The same can't be said about the Gunners.

The Gunners have been making moves on the Crossroad Theater. As the main trade hub in his area, it's also the riches and has the most to offer if the Gunners can take it over or pillage it. Donny had intercepted communications of the Gunners taking in local raider gangs, Donny's enemies, to attack the Crossroads and the caravans going there. And sure, while Donny has been able to take out most of these raiders, he can't be everywhere at once. Donny was getting stretched thin and his people are worried. His options were running thin.

There was one way out of this mess, but it's not one that Donny particularly cared for. Recently, a courier had come to the Crossroads looking for him. At first he thought it was the Gunners trying to set up negotiations, so Donny geared up in his Juggernaut suit and was ready to pit some heads on spikes. But instead, the courier came from the Minutemen. They had the gall to send messages out to folks like him, offering their services to help against the Gunners. But Donny could see what they really wanted. They planned on trying to make him join their militia, put him under their protection. Trade one master for another. However as prideful as he was, Donny couldn't deny that he would need the help. There was only so much that he and his gang could do. So he had his second-in-command take care of things here in the Connect, while he heads east with the courier to Fort Strong.

But Donny doesn't intend to arrive under dressed. He wasn't about to show up expecting the people there to think he's some bumpkin who needed them to wipe his ass. So he made sure to arrive in full regalia: Donning his power armor and taking his weapons, even his RIO's, Donny would travel all the way to the Commonwealth, smashing and blasting anything that got in his way. He made sure to take plenty of Fusion Cores to keep his armor going, and took opportunities to resupply by buying or taking cores from other raiders. He's no stranger to fighting others in power armor, and has learned how to extract their fusion cores from their power armor. He can even siphon their power to recharge his own core, if needed. A little trick he's sure those minutemen and even Brotherhood don't know about. When he finally arrived to Fort Strong, Donny made sure his arrival was known by loudly announcing himself through his RIO's speakers, which flew around the compound so that everyone could hear him.

"I am Donny Kain, The Juggernaut of the Connect, boss of the Scrap Looters! You've come asking for my help, and I'm here to show you that we're capable of solving your Gunner problem. Work with me, and you'll find a strong ally in the Connect."

Shanks Furosa
Location: Crossroad Theater
Interactions: No one in particular
Meanwhile back in the Connect, Shanks had been assigned to take care of things while Donny was away. She was used to leading groups before, and training a militia isn't something she wasn't familiar with. She especially knew how useless they'd be at first, but it'll be easy enough to convince them to work harder once she makes it clear what's on the line. "You folk might think you know all the horrors in the wasteland, but let me tell you, you ain't seen nothing yet. You think those Gunner boys are your typical band of drugged out raiders? Thinker they ain't as bad as a cannibal ghoul, or a freak Super Mutant? You ain't seen what they can do. What they got that you don't." Shanks takes out her Plasma Thrower, a weapon she rarely ever shows on account of how bulky it is. On the plus side, this means that the locals haven't seen it either, which makes bullshitting them that much easier.

"This is a Plasma Rifle. You might've seen on on those old pre-war posters in the metro or city. Looks like some sort of fancy toy. But let me tell you, these things will melt through armor like a hot knife through wet paper." Shanks demonstrated by shooting a target, a pre-war military helmet on a stick, with a burst from her Plasma Thrower. In less than a second the military helmet was reduced to a green sludge on the ground. "If that's what it does to armor, think of what that can do to you. Even the boss's power armor can't stand up to firepower like this. So don't think for a second that you can just sit behind the walls, thinking that you're safe from what those Gunner's got. Because no walls, no armor, will protect you when they come knocking. The only way you'll be safe is if you take the fight to them."

Putting her weapon away, Shanks started passing out some handmade assault rifles to the settlers. One good thing about these skirmishes against the raiders is that they had a supply of excess weapons. They weren't the best, but they were better than the 10mm pistols or pipe guns that the raiders usually had. And while Donny's gang may not the be biggest, he's done a decent job collecting folks with more than half a brain, so they could actually learn some of the things he's been teaching them and put together some damn good guns. And with Shank's little speech, a lot of townsfolk were more willing to take up arms and learn how to use these guns, instead of their original plan of hanging back and hoping that the Scrap Looters do all the fighting.

Indeed, while Shanks might've made a little white lie in describing the Gunner's arsenal to convince the townsfolk to help fight, she does genuinely have some concerns about going up against them. She's only seen firepower like this with the Brotherhood of Steel, who she's had a few brushes against when she had ventured further south about half a century ago. Even if these Gunners just had the energy weapons and not the power armor, she knew first hand what these weapons could do to regular folks. So she was indeed afraid... But also excited. This was perhaps one of the most challenging fights she'd have in a long while, she Shanks one fought a deathclaw in close-quarters combat. Granted she got the jump on it and stabbed it in it's eye, but it survived and gave her a nasty scar and broke her arm in the ensuring scuffle. So if or when Donny comes back from his little sojourn in Massachusetts, Shanks was hoping he was going to get ready for a big fight. Shanks was practically salivating at the idea of sinking her knife into those Gunner boys.

The courier sent to find the tribal would likely have found himself with the hardest mission of his life. It was almost like the woman was playing with him, he followed the trail that lead to her and always found he was a day late and a dollar short. Tracking her was not hard as the woman made no efforts to hide her trail and with what he had heard there was no way her companions could ever be passed off as something normal. Still he was sure he would catch her this time as he was just a day behind her when he talked to some kinds in a town surrounded by corn. They had at first been rather hostile, but when he said he would leave fast they perked right up and were more than willing to point him in the right way. Thinking back on it the whole place was creepy and he hadn't seen anyone but kids. Well the kids seemed healthy and they had plenty of food so he shrugged it off. Then he came to something he didn't expect a lush green forest. Yeah they existed pre war but now greenery was was as rare as could be. Heading into the forest he would notice one tree was far larger than the others and could be seen from far away along with the light one it. That was odd most civilized places had at least a few notes on his map, but not this forest let alone this tree where if people lived then they would be in one hell of a good location. Deciding to head to the tree the courier would start to hear something, not the sounds of nature but rather music and clapping. As he drew near the courier could make out voices, but they were normal, they buzzed and sang to perfectly in unison blending together in an unnatural way.

Iluta unaware she was being followed had traveled through the forest after finding the child village and their god to not be nice. She had only managed to escape because she had found that which walks the rows and it had spoken to her and seen a mark she could not upon her brow. The village was a place where adults were given over to the which walks the rows and the kids had no doubt planned to kill her and offer her up. Well that was in the past and now Iluta was in much better company. She had found the forest and the great tree where robots lived. Normally robots were mostly used to kill things and obeyed humans, but these were free and did not with to fight. They had found a GECK and used it to make their home. The machines wished to return to nature thus had formed a tribe and lived with only what technology they needed for survival. Iluta had spoken with the adults and played with the children for the day and now was enjoying their festival with them. The machines themselves had found a god to worship, or created it to better mimic humans, and thus celebrated it as human tribes celebrated theirs.

Iluta being from a human tribe herself actually have pointers, like the huge fire and the song and dance they were doing. The machines before had worshiped in a silent, to her, chant that was overall rather dull. They wanted to be like her not like the old world faiths so she taught them her ways. The words the machines spoke were nothing Iluta had taught them, but they had told her were randomly generated, whatever that meant, and thus were gibberish. Iluta however, disagreed as she listened, there was a unity to it all as they danced and sang a rhythm emerged and it was as if a new greater machine was being made. While at first the whole thing had been awkward as if guided by their machine god the robots had now come to sing and dance as if it were something programed into them with the greatest of care.

The courier arrived at the village unaware of just what he was seeing. Robots were dancing and singing? This was nor normal, robots didn't act like these even those that became somewhat aware mostly kept to their old roles or something close to it. Here he saw machine s that acted like they were some western tribals. As he came closer the song buzzed in his head and he saw his target. The woman with a giant spider and scorpion. He tried to approach, but it was like there was a pressure behind his eyes as the song droned on and on. Each step was harder then the last, then it vanished.

Illuta observed the festivities and noticed the singing was seemingly building towards something. It seemed this would be the end and as she looked from the fire to the machine faces she heard the voice of Xero. Oddly only illuta and her other kids ever heard her or well any of her kids speaking despite them being clear to her. " Yeah something is happening, i wonder what it will be?" Iluta said to the question only she and her kids hers. As she spoke the eyes of the machines, or well whatever they had to see out of lit up and the dancing stopped. The machines all as one looked up and there was a crack.

The song, stopped, the dance stopped, and the machines looked up. The courier was terrified he wanted to flee, to run away and pretend his target was dead, or better yet never go back. Still he didn't run, because he couldn't he tried and found himself stuck as there was a crack and looking up the night sky shattered. Ticking and grinding filled his ears as he beheld, something it was gears and springs countless bits of machinery that seemed to go into the sky forever. The man couldn't take it and as strange new sounds bombarded him, he collapsed wishing to pass out and wake up from this nightmare.

Iluta looked tot he sky as it shattered and beheld the gears and springs of the vast being the robots worshiped. SO they did have a god, or perhaps their worship had drawn it to them, it was hard to tell which was which and gods never liked to admit they were homeless. She heard the voice of the god, but unlike other gods she had spoken to it was not a voice it had but rather the very sounds of machinery were its voice and she didn't understand it's words. That was fine Iluta could tell the words it spoke were not for her, but she did see an object glinting in the sky fall down to the ground.

With the machines speaking with their god iluta decided to get the shiny thing and found a man by where it fell. She gathered the shiny thing, which was a cog made out of metal, seemingly the metal her spear head was fashioned of. Putting the cog in a bag for latter Iluta picked the man up and put him on Xero deciding now her work here was done, whatever that work may have been and climbed on Xero herself as she and her children now with a guest set off. This was how they operated and illuta assumed the cog was a reward for helping the machine god's flock. So she had helped been rewarded now she had to continue her journey she didn't say good bye as well she was sure the robots would be busy for awhile.

Iluta waited for the man to wake up till the following morning and was happy to see him coming to. By this point she ahd her children had set up a camp and the man was back on solid ground. " Oh he is waking up everyone he is waking up " Iluta said and the half aware man got another fright as Ilut's children wandered over.

The man luckily didn't pass out " What happened, the robots, the village, that thing the sky it opened" The courier said his words becoming panicked

" That was the machine god " Iluta answered as one of the ants moved up and patted he man with its antenna " Aww she likes you" iluta said before seeming to hear something " No i don't care if he looks good he is a friend i think... no not even if he isn't a friend" Iluta sighed seeming to answer and unheard question.

" I machine god, but ... i .. the fuck was that all that was fucking insane i i" The courier said

" So you were looking for me?" Iluta said to the man who was not used to the insanity she was " Why" she asked. Iluta didn't actually know he was here for her that was Otoso's idea and she was rather smart so Iluta trusted her ideas. If not for Otoso's quick thinking then they might have been killed by those moth worshipers.

The man nodded " I yes they your.. " The words were not coming.

Iluta chuckled " You really got it rough you should have started with the moth god, i met it and it gave me an egg " iluta explained and the man just eyed her like she was the crazy one.

" The commonwealth, they want you to go to fort strong" The man said finally getting his message, or well the important bit out.

" I think we were going that way, the master old me to seek out the giant able and sky wounding buildings" Iluta explained and the courier it seemed had hit his limit and once more was out cold.

Took a walk
Out in The Fens
Had a talk with a man about some chems
He asked me what's your flavor
I said I need a favor
I'm a little short on caps but
I'm a good good neighbor

Sitting in the Third Rail, Seras had just finished a job escorting a caravan here from down south. It was a rough month of travel despite being near Brotherhood lines. Apparently super mutants liked to come down from the mountains to attack like a seasonal flu. No wonder why the caravan master was willing to pay full caps upfront for the job. Still it wasn't anything Seras couldn't handle. Super mutants might be tough, but even they fall to a bullet to the eye, and as big and scary as they are they may as well be walking bullseyes with how bad at dodging they were, and their huge size just makes them a huge target. So Seras had definitely earned her keep, and blew most of it on ammo and booze.

The Commonwealth reminded Seras of home, just a little. Almost as urbanized, almost civilized, but she can still smell the stink of corruption and sin here. All she had to do was stop by the big city: Diamond City. Didn't take her long to catch a whiff of privilege. Folks literally living on the upper crusts looking down at everyone else, with triggermen still roaming the streets. And security just looks the other way. Seras didn't stay long, and wasn't surprised that after she left, she was ambushed by a small gang of suits with tommy guns. Fortunately for Seras, they were all smoke and no shot, since as soon as Seras shot their lead the rest were quick to flee. Still, Seras didn't intend to stay in the Commonwealth for long. She didn't have very high hopes for the city here, though she had heard of an outfit called the Minutemen.

Seras has actually read about the Minutemen back in history books, back out west. It was a nice name, though Seras wondered if they'd follow the same path as their predecessors. Seras definitely knew that the NCR is repeating the same history that happened over four hundred years ago, and can't imagine that the these "patriots" are going to be much different. Finding out that they've teamed up with the Brotherhood of Steel made Seras even less confident: If there was one thing you could rely on the BOS to be, it's being dogmatic to traditions and history. They might be a country apart, but the Brotherhood of the East is no different from the Brotherhood of the West, as far as Seras could tell.

Which was why she was suspicious when a courier arrived to talk to her. A few days after landing in Goodsprings, Seras had put some caps down with Charlie to help her find some work. She wasn't sure how he did it, but he managed to get her name to the Minutemen and their allies, and apparently they want a cut of her jib. Seras can't really complain about her potential employers, plus this would be a good way for her to actually see first hand how these folks operate. "The Army Development Force? That's a mouthful. Suppose I could give it a shot. Where did you say it was at?"

Felix & Queenie.
Located in Far Harbor, moving to Fort Strong.

Brahmin buttered mirelurk legs were absolutely worth the radiation Felix justified as he ravenously stuffed the meat into his mouth. He didn’t care just what horrific permanent damage it would do to his body; this shit was divine. The man scarfed another bite when suddenly he erupted in loud coughs and splutters as his dinner attempted to peek into his lungs. People in the vicinity of the crab boiler stared awkwardly or stifled laughter behind tight lips; watching an incomer struggle was the very pinnacle of their entertainment.
“Ah, hell! Sorry…”, Felix managed finally after a hacking cough that nearly knocked him off his stool, “S’good stuff!” His cheeks flushed bright red as his eyes swept across each person. Somehow, he figured, this wasn’t quite the best first impression he had ever made.

“Smooth, Sailor.” Queenie’s robotic tone cut the silence and the harbor-folk snapped out of their gawping. Felix huffed as the automatron picked up a buttered leg and held it up to the light. “Leave it, Queenie.” Felix scolded. She continued to inspect it, even jiggling the piece lightly.
“My sensors detect the same shade of red on your face.” The robot discarded the leg back onto the plate as Felix rolled his eyes deep into his skull. Hell, he often wished he hadn’t programmed such a high level of humour in her software. Unfortunately for him the damned robot was too beaten up to be changed, thus becoming both his ride-or-die and the absolute bane of his existence.
“I’m not rising up to this you know.” Felix grabbed the very leg his companion had so rudely tossed aside and began removing the delicious meat.

“Prior scans have found you stand at five feet an-“ Queenie was interrupted by somebody clearing their throat behind the pair. A woman, very clearly a courier, stood with her arms folded across her middle. Felix side-eyed his robotic friend for a second before wiping the seething rage from his face. He turned on his perch to face the stranger. “How can I help you, ma’am?” Felix smiled politely.

-

Fort Strong hadn’t changed much in the year since Felix had last seen the place. It still looked like shit, in all honesty, but it was safe shit nonetheless. He had been honoured to have been scouted for this apparent mission, though had no recollection of the people who had sent for him. The man put it down to being in the good books of the surviving commonwealth factions, thus perhaps being on some kind of ‘handy to have around’ list.
Felix found himself atop a vertibird, fixing a connection in one of the propellers, when a booming voice filled the courtyard from all angles. “What the fuck?” He marvelled at the spectacle unfolding before him. Whoever this Donny was, he had to give him props for what might’ve been the most badass entrance he had ever seen.

The guards at Fort Strong raised an eyebrow at the eclectic group that had responded to Violet and Hailey's messages, especially the power armoured...was he a Raider boss? The guards couldn't tell but he wasn't attacking them, and it wasn't like they hadn't worked with former Raiders before. Red Tourret from the Federal Ration Stockpile had sided with them, her group becoming reformed and reworked into a small fighting force. The nearby Warrant Officer walked over to the men gathered at the gates. "Head on in, the General shouldn't be hard to miss" she said, pointing towards a location with a vertibird that looked a bit...larger then your average 'bird, almost like it could hold more people in the back.

"Fort Strong, here I'll show you on a map" the courier said to Seras, pulling up the map on her pip-boy, clearly she had been a Vault dweller previously. She pointed out some landmarks to watch for. Mostly Bunker Hill, East Boston Prep School which had recently been cleared of Raiders, and East City Downs. "I have to go and deliver more messages, good luck on your trip" she said, smiling before heading into the back of the Third Rail.

Donny Kain "The Juggernaut"
Location: Fort Strong
Interactions: Minutemen General

Donny silently marched up pass the guards. They certainly looked better geared than most scum he dealt with, but no better than the gunners he's fought as well. But that also just told Donny that these guys are probably going to be a solid match. Though if there was anything that concerned Donny more, it was the vertibird. Donny has seen the Gunners use those, and those aren't things he was ready to deal with just yet. Sure, a hail of gunfire much get a lucky shot on a door gunner, but it doesn't take a genius to realize you could just fly a couple thousand feet above a settlement and drop bombs with impunity. Half the reason why Donny hasn't tried to go after the Gunners yet on his turf is because he lacks the mains to counter their air superiority. At least, not unless he can get these minutemen to lend a hand.

And so Donny met with the General. While Donny was talking, his eyebots were around in stealth mode. They were scouting the area, and scanning everyone's faces. They could be enemies in the future, so he wants to make sure he knew their faces if they were ever his enemies. But most of all he was going to focus on the general. Ever since the Gunners came to the Connect and Donny had began researching them, he's heard a lot about this Minutemen General, Elder of the Brotherhood of Steel, Lone Survivor of the Vaults, along with some other superlatives that Donny doesn't really believe in, but he knew at least one thing: they were the real deal.

"So, you're the General? I'm Donny Kain, Juggernaut of the Connect, Boss of the Scrap Looters. I've come a long way to see if you're up to snuff. You'll find that I'm going to be a strong ally, and a fearsome enemy to the Gunners. But I want to know what you and your people can do for me. Let me be clear: The Connect have no interest in turning their asses over to be fucked over by the Commonwealth. Fighting off these Gunners don't mean that we want to join your little kingdom here. You wanna break bread fine, we can make a deal. But we're not about to bend knee to and raise your flag either."

Seras' walk to Fort Strong took her a bit of time. Mostly because along the way, she ran into a group of super mutants in a gunfight with some local militia. Diamond City Guards, if Seras remembered correctly. Four guards against three super mutants and two hounds. It wasn't looking good for the guards as one of the mutants seemed to have a heavy machine gun, so Seras ducked around a corner and put her helmet on. She turned back around and raised her rifle up and fired two shots. One to the mutant's chest, and using the recoil Seras fired another bullet into the mutant's head. If this was a 50. cal, it would've been a kill shot, but these mutants are tough. The bullet was just enough to stun the big mutie though, giving the guards an opening to reposition and focus on on the big guy, shredding him apart with sheer firepower. After that the clean up on the rest of the muties were easy enough. They only had some pipe weapons and Seras took out the mutant hounds, so the guards could close in and clear out the muties. Seras didn't even stick around to say hello, and was already on her way down to the fort.

After a few hours of walking Seras arrives to the fort just in time to see someone in power armor shouting at them. He didn't look like a brotherhood paladin, and he was talking about scrap or something. She thought he might've been a raider but it doesn't look like he was trying to attack anyone. Maybe he was also here for this job? Seras just ignored him and followed the minutemen to the giant vertibird in the back. This was bigger than some of the birds she's seen out west. Hell, it might've been brand new instead of refurbished like most vertibirds these days. That was quite an accomplishment considering how difficult it was for the NCR to get their birds in working condition, let alone having the resources and funds to craft new aircraft in this day and age. The metal man started talking again, but Seras just stayed quiet and looked around, analyzing the situation before she made herself known.

After explaining to the courier who the master was to the best of her knowledge, which wasn't much, Iluta and her kids had set off on their way northish. It was a bit hard to actully figure out where she was going. The courier had declined to travel with the group still shaken by the machine god he wanted to check on those kids. Iluta had told him not to go that he would not be safe but well he had gone anyways.

Iluta had gotten directions from some birds after they had finished eating a dead man. Normally Iluta would try to learn the story behind this, but she felt time was of the essence so after being offered cement shoes and swimming lessons by Don corvis she had managed leatn where she needed to go provided she didn't ask any more questions.

Heading to fort strong Iluta felt the air was diffrent, the energy of the land reminded her of home, and some other places. She didn't expect to see any of her tribe here she was pretty sure aside from their leader she was the last. Still perhaps something lurked below dreaming of stars. Well this just meant no spirit visions here those spirits were rather unhelpful and if they needed sonething they could just make somone else deliver the message or write her or something.

Fort strong it turned out was on a pensula so water was without a doubt the best way to get to it. The issue was most of Iluta's kids didn't really swim, they coukd kinda crawl through water but swimming long distance was just impossible for them. Iluta would need a ride.

At fort strong as the boss of the scrap looters spoke with the general and others had gathered look outs at the fort woukd see something rather odd. A woman. A huge radscorpion, a gaint radspider, and some ants seemingly to glide over the water. They didn't see any machinery that could be moving them and they sure as hell weren't on a boat. This wasn't threatening as well the animals looked trained given they weren't attacking the woman. After watching and relaying the siting they would realize the woman matched the discription of somone that had been sent for.

Confusion turned to dread as the group neared the shore and what the group was riding becane clear. A mirelurk queen had them perched upon her huge hunched back. With the odd swiftness that the crustaceans possessed they moved up to the land. The queen like most of her kind was not alone and had her clutch with her scuttling about. Still it didn't move to attack the queen and church milling about as the figured on top of the queen got down.

Once down Iluta moved around the queen. Luckily no one had fired yet, but who wanted to antagonize a mirelurk queen when it seemed passive?

" thanks for the ride Evie " Ilura said patting one of the queens legs " And I am sure you will feel better divorce is messy but there are plenty of other kings out there that want more clutches for sure" she continued and the queen gurgled as if replying "Yeah ill cone visit some time, and if I meet and nice guys I'll bring them too" Iluta nodded as her kids moved behind her. With that the queen and her clutch turned to return to the sea.

"Glad I am not the only mom that has trouble with her kids" Iluta chuckled looking to one of the ants witch clicked its mandables in return. "Yes you, you are the one that wants to eat everyone" she sighed.

Violet raised an eyebrow at Donny, but she had a slight smile on her face. Clearly this man had confidence in himself. "The Connect huh? I like that name, I think that'll be what we call it offically" she said. "And don't worry we have no plans to subjugate the wasteland, we're not...what is now the New Outcasts and the Gunners. We're also not going with the main force which brings us to why I called you all here" she added. Her eyes went over the people they had gathered. An animal commanding tribal, a robot leading person, the possible Raider she had just been talking to and someone who held herself like a military person. "We've been recieving some concerning information from the Signals & Intelligence Division, the Gunners have been causing trouble in The Connect, and there's rumours of what some are describing as Brotherhood soldiers with them. Some settlements have been all but destroyed and depopulated, some are simply being forced to produce food and other necessities" Hailey said. "This is not a job for the main force, they are needed in the New York and Western Mass wastelands. So it was decided to send a group of mercenaries, along with the two of us in as a small group mostly to scout and find what we can about what they are doing, but also to disrupt them if possible" Violet added. She indicated the vertibird behind her. "This is how we'll be getting to the TriMark settlment, a small forestry and farming settlement that is allowing us to use a clearing of theirs just this once" she said. "Alright, everyone get in, get comfortable because it's gonna be...not a short trip but not a very long one either" the pilot said. Violet and Hailey climbed in, Hailey going to the co-pilot seat and Violet sitting close to the right door gun.

Well this was certainly a strange menagerie of characters, almost literally. The raider in power armor wasn't that strange, but the woman from the sea, riding Mirelurks? With her own
band of monsters that seemed oddly docile? Seras has once heard of a strange wastelander who had tamed molerats and called himself the "Rat King", but he had nothing on this strange woman who had brought some giant insects and a radscorpion. Again, all who seemed docile since they didn't immediately try to eat anyone. Stranger still, the general of these minutemen seemed to take the strange arrival in stride and made some introductions. They were going to clear our an area known as "The Connect" of the gunners in the area. Apparently, the armored one came from that area. Seras didn't know how far this ride was going to be, but the fact they would be taking a vertibird was surprising to her. Seras has never rode a Vertibird before.

Not wanting to have to sit next to the bugs, Seras gets inside of the vertibird and goes to find a relatively tight spot that won't have much space. Seras had no issues being in cramped up spaces thanks to her ranger training, and less space to anyone else means less chances being couped up next to a spider or something. Sitting in a chair, Seras curls her legs up to her chest, her rifle across her shoulder, and her hand by her pistol. While she doesn't expect any trouble, she's never been on a vertibird before and she was pretty nervous. If this bird falls from the sky or something.... Seras has no idea what she'd do, but she hopes she can tuck and roll.

"What in the flying fuck is that!?"

The first thing Donny had noticed was bugs floating over ants. Now, he's fought mirelurks before, and he knows there's some mutant flies that love to live on and in radiated water, but the former were slow on land and the latter could die from a few pistol shots. So seeing a radscorpion flying across the water made Donny take out his shotgun and get ready to fight. But things went from weird to worse when it turns out, no, that scorpion and the ants weren't floating on water, they were being carried by mirelurks and a mirelurk queen. Even Donny knew better than to test his odds against one of those, at least alone. He figured this would be a good chance as any to see how these minutemen fought in action, but turns out these things were pets.

Now Donny has met tribals before, and most of the time they're little more than raiders who don't speak english. He's put down plenty of them back in his territory, so he wasn't sure what to think about this tribal woman and her entourage of creepy crawlies. She seemed to be able to... Talk to the mirelurk queen, who left peacefully. Donny looked between her, the minutemen, the mirelurks, and finally checked to make sure he didn't take any psycho before he got here. It's usually when he's on Psycho that he sees freaky shit like this, but he was painfully sober. "Aight, so I ain't the only one seeing this right? Some tribal with scorpions and ants and spiders? How the fuck are we even suppose to carry all of them in that machine of yours?" Donny was a big guy, but that radscorpion was nearly as big as him in his power armor.

"Whatever I guess. You lot go first, I'll follow up afterwards. Don't want to be crushed between those bugs." Donny opts to go in last so that if this vertibird starts going down, he can just jump out before he crashes. He knows his armor can easily survive a long fall, but he doesn't like his odds of surviving a crashed vertibird. He looks at the tribal woman and isn't sure what to think of her. She's obviously a freak, but even he knew that the ability to somehow connect with these creatures wasn't something to underestimate. And now that the initial panic of seeing these things show up has worn off, he was kind of curious about them as well. When he has a chance, he tries to speak to the tribal. "Name's Donny, boss of the Scrap Looters. You like, some sort of pack leader or something?"

Iluta was rather pleased that not seemed to open fire on Evie, to many people were just to trigger happy. Really who could blame someone like Evie for being a little cranky she had gone through a lot and it was not easy raising a clutch alone. Really people should just have more sympathy and try to listen before they simple started shooting something. While not the most people Iluta had seen there were plenty of them and the kids were overly excited.

" Otoso you watch the little ones, i don't want them trying to taste anyone without asking" Iluta told the giant spider which moved to keep the 4 smaller but still giant ants close to itself.

This let Iluta listen to the plan and as they brought around a veribird she would have to figure out a way to get everyone in. It took a big of doing, but as the people got in Otoso once relived of having to watch the ants, weaved a web of sorts. The giants spider would tie itself to the roof of the vertibrid using it's legs and the strong as steel thread to hold on while the vehicle was in flight. Sadly Xero could not produce thread and so had to cram herself into the cabin, but at least Iluta could ride her and the the ants could as well saving some space, even if the group took up most of it. The metal man that was rather rusty seemed to want to gety in last. She had at first thought he was with the black metal men and the green men, but he was made differently and looked nothing like them. The woman seemed willing to just curl up in the smallest part of the cabin. Xeron noticed riot armor though mistook it for a human with a carapase as Illuta didn't wear much armor and neither did raisers and it was like just like her even if a little dull.

" No she isn't about to molt, that's armor silly" Iluta chuckled before the metal man spoke to her. Iluta was a bit confused why would she be a pack leader, she didn't have a pack she just had her kids. Did metal men have families, maybe they just had packs. Well she could help him. " No i am their mother, i raised everyone from eggs . The four little trouble makers are the youngest" She said referring to her ants one of which got a bonk to the head as it seemed to stare a bit to much at the woman. " DO you metal men have packs, instead of family? Oh are you related to the ones that are black and talk to little green men? If so they were really rude that bubble back home was not comfy at all" Iluta both asked questions and told stories at the same time. Still it would be most apparent she didn't realize there was a person in the armor she just saw a man made of metal like a robot but different. " I really do hope they weren't your friends they were not very nice, but they had Otoso so i guess they are not all bad" she continued before she realized she hadn't told anyone their names " Oh right names I am Iluta last of the sleeping eyes, the girl below me is Xero a radscorpion queen to be, Otoso is the rad spider outside, and the four have yet to decide on names i am open to suggestions " She finished honestly rather energetic through out and likely sounding completely mad to anyone that wasn't her.

Metal and flesh stood side by side behind the crowd at the large vertibird. Felix's eyes flitted to Queenie's vision sensors then back to the multiple sets of insectoid eyes that were far too close for his liking. The man regretted not turning up earlier to this side of the airfield to perhaps have gotten a better explanation as to why exactly these creatures followed a tribal woman's directions. Nevermind. He had certainly learned this lesson. "Fascinating. I am going to enjoy watching you squirm." Queenie quipped bluntly, a tinge of humor to her robotic tones. The mechanic responded with a singular, dry "Ha."

"Ah... Sorry...Excuse me eh, miss Xero."
Felix pressed himself as far as physically possible into his seat as the radscorpion and Iluta adjusted themselves into the cargo bay. He made a conscious effort to not stare at all the insects for fear of them disemboweling him. The man figured it was well within his luck in this life to be crammed into a flying metal death-trap with some equally as dangerous passengers, people included.
"Hey uh, how long is this flight going to take?" Felix scratched the nape of his neck as he spoke to the commanders of the operation.

Queenie tilted her head like a curious dog as her sensors flitted over the passengers. She began compiling a small database on each person and insectoid, taking extra care to study the mysterious mercenary and the threatening raidboss. 'A Curious Bunch', she couldn't help but label the document and emitted a soft whirring noise akin to a laugh.

"It shouldn't take more then 30 minutes since we'll be going directly there" Hailey said. The engines wired to life, Hailey and the pilot flicked some switches and the 'bird took flight. They flew over the water, going past The Castle and over Quincy, which had been reclaimed 5 years before and was in the middle of being rebuilt and established once more as a trading hub. "Close the doors, we're about to fly over the exclusion zone" Hailey said. Violet nodded, pulling the door guns back inside and closing the doors on either side. "Side doors are locked and secure" she said. She watched as they flew over the Glowing Sea Exclusion Zone, the wall still very much under construction. "It's hard to imagine why those thought such large scale nuclear weapons were a good idea...let alone launching them" Hailey said. "It could've been worse, they could've made some kind of biological weapon to turn people into zombies from those pre-war horror movies" Violet said. The eternal radstorm above the Sea rumbled with thunder, and forks of lightning flashed over them. After a few minutes they left the Glowing Sea and were near the destination. Violet opened the doors and sighed and looked around, destroyed, burnt out forests, ruins of small towns, some small settlements and raider encampments was all she could see. "Yeah looks not much different from The Commonwealth proper" she mused, somewhat sadly. "We're coming in to land" the pilot said. Violet helped guide the 'bird down and once they touched down and their engines turned off she jumped out, Hailey right behind her.

"Welcome to TriMark" the owner of the settlement said, his arms crossed and a few gun toting mercenaries behind him. "Thank you, we wont be here long" Hailey said, handing the man a large sack of caps. The man nodded and seemed to be a bit less aggravated. "Over there is why this place is called TriMark...seems before the War, the people of this area placed a stone post with the names of the pre-war states where their borders met" he said. Violet walked over to it before hearing one of the mercs shout as she saw the tribal woman's spider on the side of the vertibird. "Don't worry they're with us!" Violet called back to them, chuckling softly. "I think your children are going to get that reaction a lot Iluta" Hailey said to the tribal woman.

Seras Archer

Location
: In a Vertibird

Mention: Hailey

During the rider over Seras just stayed quiet, intrigued by the company but also being in a vertibird. She never imagined being inside of one would be so loud: it reminded her of being at Hover Dam. Just a constant machine noise that drowned out anything. She barely heard what Hailey said, and not being able to do much else, Seras does what she always does when she's along for a ride: take a nap. Despite the noise, the crowd, and the tempter, Seras could easily grab a nap even if she's being actively shot at. Just as well she can be roused awake and ready for a fight in six seconds flat, though back in the rangers this was considered too long given that you can easily die in just two seconds. Regardless, Seras took a nap until the Vertibird landed, and by the time the doors were open Seras was out and about as if she had been ready to drop this entire time.

Though one thing Seras missed out while sleeping was actually seein the scenery from above, not that she felt too comfortable about heights in the first place. Not to mention she had no idea where exactly they were at. If anything it looked like they were still in the Commonwealth, maybe just outside of the city itself. It certainly didn't look all too unique: same amount of ruins, dead trees, and broken vehicles. A man came over with some armed guards, and he was paid by Hailey for some reason. Weren't they suppose to be here to clear out the area on behalf of the settlements? Why were the minutemen paying locals? Or maybe she was paying for some other service, like guarding the vertibird while they're gone? So many questions, but Seras opted to focus on the one that matters the most right now.

"So where are we going first?"
