The great empire of Areysia had existed for thousands of years. It's capital was world renowned and its army's are to be feared. Their emperors are said to be the best generals on earth. With their martial ability surpassing all of the other "lesser" races and humans. They are literal gods walking among us on this dreaded planet. Did anyone ever question the greatness of this empire? No nobody talked about the backstabbing politics and the genocide of many conquered people. No that wasn't anything you were to talk about, ofcourse the empire was the protector of mankind. If the empire didn't fight the savage hordes to the north who would?
All of the emperor's are worshipped in the imperial temples and even in the southern kingdoms. Life was good and everybody accepted the fact that their children were conscripted in the imperial legions. They didnt only accept it they were proud of it, the future of the family depended on the succes of their children in the imperial army. The glory days were withering and the empire became more and more desperate, so the knightly orders were ordered to invade the horde. The empire just couldn't protect it's borders alone anymore. The military orders did demand something in return they demanded that they were to hold their conquered territory, this was accepted by the emperor who had no other choice.
So the Empire saw a massive migration of soldiers because every and i mean every order participated in this "grand crusade" against the savage north. The three major military orders are so powerful that their leaders have been said to be on par with the emperor himself.
The three major orders were:
1st The order of the pegasus

Another fifty different military orders joined and many adventurers joined to proof themselves on the battle field. The savage hordes of greenskins and beastmen were quickly defeaten. But the knightly orders didn't stay and stabalize the area as the emperor thought, no after their first victory they kept on marching straight north. It was too late to stop them now, they were going to find out what was north of the mountain range. Nobody would be able to stop them not even the empire. There's not much known about what happened but after the military orders headed north with their huge army and crossed the mountain range they were never seen again. The empire executed anyone who spread rumors and tried to cover up the fact of the dissapearance of the mightiest orders the empire had ever seen. False rumors were spread by the empire that the military orders had been eventually defeated by the greenskin horde. That's the only thing that was written down in the history books, the hatred against the horde became bigger bigger, and the truth dissapeared as time passed.
This event happened a hundred years ago, and scholars only know the false 'truth'. The current emperor called Aeriele Jiral Luvellian is sixty years old and he has ten sons. Every son of his commands its own army but when the armies need to work together the older son will take command. The youngest son Eamithir is 20 years old and he has just been banned from the court. The young prince has left with his entourage of twenty loyal subjects who are mostly from the imperial royal guard. The emperor allowed these man to accompany his son since he wanted his son to learn something: "Don't be a fool and try to cross the mountains to head north". The young prince has just left the imperial court and went to a local tavern. He was going to head north eitherway with or without his father's help. This is where we will meet eachother in the tavern called "Change of winds inn", it's a weird name but perhaps a prophetical one.
So everyone can create their own character, the character can be of any race, culture and location. Your character will have one thing in common with the other characters that is that he/she has joined Eamithir party to the north.
