The Thundering Mustelid
Tyrados

The gorgeous floating city state Crossed the Great central plains on its usual route, blissfully unaware of the Doom that was soon to befall them. How could they be? It was midday amd the weather was perfect. Children played in the streets, the market place buzzed and the guards stood shifting from foot to foot. The only one who seemed to notice the cloaked man sitting on the fountain at the center of the city, or rather cared enough to approach him was a little boy of about 7 or 8. The lonely child approached the mysterious cloaked figure and said "Hello mister, my names Adam, whats yours." the man looked up from his hands which glowed with magical energy and smiled at the boy. "My name is Balmond...Do you like stories Adam? I can tell you a veeery good one." he said without a hint of the malice that fueled his visit. The little boy nodded eagerly and sat down by Balmonds feet. "Okay but can you show me a magic trick afterwards?" balmond smiled and nodded. "I'll show you the best magic trick you'll ever see." he promised.

"Before you were born...but not to long before, there was a great hero, who fell in love with a terrible witch. She returned his love and they vowed to be together forever and live in peace with the rest of the world." the boy leaned in closer completely enthralled as balmond raised his left hand and formed and orb of white energy a few inches across. "But they were very powerful, and the world was afraid of them, So they came to their house while they were asleep and they took the witch away from the hero." the boys expression changed to one of confusion. "But why mister? Why would they take her?" he asked enthusiastically. Balmond chuckled and said "I ask myself that same question every day."

Adam sat back and asked "Then what?" and Balmonds smirk grew wider. "Well the hero did what heroes do, he beat the bad guys and after a long journey he finally found the witch. However, he also found out that there were alot more badguys to deal with, an entire world of them in fact." Adams eyes went wide "A whole world? How can the Hero fight a whole world?" his tone was one of disbelief. "Oh im sure he will find a way, now how about that magic trick?" Adam nodded vigorously and Balmond spawned a black orb of equal size in his other hand. "Watch closely now." he said before clapping the two orbs together in his hands.

The effect was immediate and Devestating. The orbs fused into a single grey orb that expanded faster tham sound. Adam was instantly vaporized along with the fountain, the market square, and the vast majority of the City's center. On the Edge of the floating City Jinseig turned looking up from his lute and seeing a sight that made him feel as if his heart had dropped into his belly. He had onky managed to take one step towards the blast before the pressure wave knocked him over the edge of the city along with a massive cloud of debris.

"Daiara!" he shouted summoning his most frequently called familiar. The mass of tentacles wrapped around a single eye popped into reality and immediately wrapped what tendrils it could around its falling master. While not strong enough to carry him it was just enough to slow his fall to the point where he was able to land hard but without serious injury. He turned his eyes up to his city positive that it would begin falling to the planet. However it continued on its route and caused him to turn his eyes to the ground. Trying to figure out, what happened, How it happened, and Why...

The Seat,Titainia

The Titan king sat on his throne listening to the two giants plead their case for a land claim in the expanse. However as his four generals entered the room looking rather flustered he shooed the two giants away with a decree to split the land evenly among their two existing territories. "What is so terrible that it has the four mightiest giants i know looking like a youngling who walked in on his parents working on giving him a brother?" he said with a smirk. The tall Female named Astrid spoke first. "Now is not the time for humor my King, its our wardens...they are all gone my Lord." Ghetts brow furrowed and he rose to his feet. "Astrid...there are over four thousand wardens beyond our walls ha-" the giantess cut him off. "Ghett...thats what i am trying to tell you. We cannot reach them, any of them. Our seers cannot view them, and our shamans...they say that their souls are in the afterlife." she said without regarding her belived kings title. That more than anything told him she was deadly serious.

The titan lord cupped his chin between his index finger and thumb and rubbed his jaw as he thought. His super hard skin causing the action to generate a sound akin to grinding stones together. Lifting his head a few moments later he snapped his fingers and every giant in the room rose to the position of attention. He pointed first to the jet black skinned giant. "Veery, Begin making plans for the possibility of manditory evacuation to the Seats catacombs." his finger shifted again this time to point at the burly fire giant with his blazing beard. Then turned to point at the short frost giant. "Ignus and Zudd, man the wall, and double up on scouts in the Expanse. I dont want a single acre of Titainia to not have a giants eyes on them." Finally his finger shifted to Astrid. "Take half of your forces and station them here at the Seat, the other half will go with you and meet up with the Smallfolk leaders in the Golden Kingdom, The report from Damohi last week said they were under siege, i want to end the seige, and make sure you send a message to whoever else wants to attack our allies while you do it."

The generals all nodded needing no further explaination they dutifully made their way towards the door. All except for Astrid Who stood staring at Ghett as he pivoted back to his throne grabbing the the Scabbard of The Defiler which sat on the left side of it and strapping its sheathe to his back. Next he grabbed his cloak and spun to find astrid standing there with her arms crossed. "Where are You going?" She asked her tone obviously displaying concern. "To find out what happened to our wardens."He answered firmly"No!" she rebuttled crossing her arms. Sighing he placed his hands on her shoulders."Someone has to, worry not my love, I promise i will be careful." she was obviously not okay with it, but she nodded anyway. Turning to walk with him at least to the edge of the City.

From the hilltop where Na'sur Stood he could see the Fortress on the horizon. Between him and the annoyingly sturdy building was an army of darkspawn so numerous that it was like a snarling sea of horns & claws. They had been pressing the city for at least eight days now and they had made nearly no progress. However Na'sur was not in the slightest bit worried. He was patient, eventually the meat within the walls would run out. Then they would either starve or dwindle in strength until they could no longer fend off the invasion. He absentmindedly wondered if the humans would try to surrender. The thought filled him with glee, it was always so much better when they begged. His mouth watered at the thought of being able to sink his teeth into human flesh again, the last cities's population sadly didnt last very long and his hunger was growing worse with each passing day. Part of him wondered if Na'Khan was having any better luck on the opposite end on the country. Finallt he decided it was time for another raid and he raised his hand signalling for the aerial abominations the flutter towards the city again.

Night had fallen upon the Capital City of the Millitary Republic, the three moons light bathing the night in a myriad of colours giving the city a magical aura to any outsiders visiting. To Marius, it was just another beautiful night, in a city he would rather not be in. If there was one thing he hated, it was being garrisoned in the capital. He Was an Elite of the Military, a Commando, and a colonel to boot. But orders were orders, and despit the prodigious rank, even he wasn't about ignoring the top brass. He had arrived in the city three days ago after escorting the Imperitor and Imperitrix to and from Titania, the seat of the Giant's kindom, for talks of trade and a possible alliance. While he would have loathed being a glorified baby sitter, it was the Imperitor and his family, and a chance to see the Giants Homeland. To say the talks were a success was an understatement, especially after the ordeal his liver went through after the celebration feast when talks had ended. Did he regret accepting the giant's challenge to a drinking contest? Not really. Did his liver hate him? Oh most definitely. Did he bring home a cask of Titanian Whiskey? Classified.
While his liver had recovered on the trip back to the Isles, and ultimately the capital, The Colonel had to wonder why he was still here, and not on the fringes or outposts. After receiving orders from the brass, to report to the General's office, Marius could only wonder. Especially at this hour. Still orders were order, and he would follow them.
The drive from the barracks to the base Commander's office had been a short one, when he arrived. Exiting his personal Puma ATS, he was greeted by a lieutenant and two sergeants. All three snapped a crisp salute which Marius returned in kind. "At ease. Take me to the general. I have orders to meet with him, and do not wish to terry." Marius said getting a chorus of "Sir" from the three. With that the four made their way inside.

Lunari, Silver Spire
(Crusix Phase: First Quarter)
Yusaria took a deep breath of fresh moonlight as she looked up at the intimidating building in front of her. It was a military command center, to her understanding, obviously a very important place. She could never remember the name of this place, it just sounded so confusing to her. Was it Argentium Terrace? Or Argantum Tuuras? It was weird, so instead she just thought of it as the Silver Spire - Apparently an English version of its actual name. Why not just call it by its English name anyway, if it had one? Language was weird.

However silly she thought the name was, it still made her nervous looking at it. Inside there were all the big guys she was going to have to take orders from. What would they be like? Would they like her? She hoped they wouldn't be mean. Taking another breath, she smiled up at Crusix in the sky, knowing that whatever happened inside that big building, at least the Moon would always be on her side.

She walked inside, taking a moment to take in her surroundings. The building looked cool, like all the other buildings these people made. The idea of making a shelter that was more than just bushes or rocks had been fascinating to her at first, and while after two years here some of that wonder had faded, she was still regularly impressed by the kinds of things these people made. Not just the buildings, but the everyday items too. She thought she knew magic, but these people were way further ahead of her than she could've ever thought was possible. Still, her magic obviously still had its own uses, otherwise they wouldn't have let her train for joining the military.

Not immediately seeing a map of the place in the first room, Yusaria asked the nearest person where the Commander's office was. After getting her directions, she thanked the person just like she was taught by her foster parents, and followed them as best she could to reach the office.

The Sands of Dunia

The moon was high in the sky bathing the desert in its light, roaming hills made of sand covered the horizon as a larger than normal wolf runs along them, a black and white wolf with two different color eyes big enough for a man to ride on. Despite the sweltering heat the desert displayed during the day it was surprisingly cold during the nights which is shy Danira chose to take her wolf form rather than running around on two legs exposed to the elements.

That being said she'd rather not be out in the open when the sun came back up so she searched for shelter, a cave, or maybe a city that wasn't....too picky about the company they keep. If not she'd find a way to manage but it would be ideal. She slides down a dune in a sitting position until she reaches the bottom and looks up at the sky memorizing the stars and what direction each constellation is in to make sure she is still going in the same direction. If I keep going straight I'll eventually get out or reach something. This was far beyond usual Orú territory but she was not of the tribe anymore, it did not matter who's paws had not set foot here before her, she was here now and that's all that mattered.

She sniffed around and as usual everything smelled relatively the same that was until she picked something up. She could smell it, it was water and it was close so she made a quick turn in that direction, shade or no, water would sure be a great help against the sun come morning.

The lieutenant was the one who stepped forward at Colonel Marius's order. "Right this way sir, he is waiting for you." the man walked with a poised and crisp walk worthy of a ranking officer. As he lead him through the winding corridors and through the large central hall to the stairway that lead up to the generals corner office. Finally he stopped switching to a stance of attention as he awauted his next order.

Inside General Matthias sat going over a massive stack of reports with an expensive Lunarian cigar dangling from his lips. The man was getting on in his years and it showed in his less than flawless physique and streaks of white hair creeping into the black that once dominated his crown. He smiled As the Colonel entered his office immediately gesturing for him to skip the salute and have a seat. "Colonel, nice to see you...unfortunately i dont have alot of time, with all this madness around the planet i am up to my damn eyeballs in paperwork." he chuckled and offered Marius one of the cigars from his box. "You remember the PMO Project right, that group of Science officers who decided that they needed to keep an eye on the known precursor sites? Well as it turns out that might not have been as much of a waste of credits as i thought." he sifted through the papers on his desks exclaiming "Aha!" when he found it. "well we got a hit, that Worldspear mountain on the otherside of the Bhanell's territories. That thing is spitting out massive amounts of mystic energy. If it were up to me i would just send some scouts. But youve got some fans higher in the food chain than me, they personally requested i put you on this. You have full Access to requisition's take who and what you need to get there, but do it quickly. I expect a report within three days." he ashed his cigar and went back to his papers knowing full well that the marius would deliver he always did. Yet before the colonel could even begin to rise the general handed him a file. "You got yourself a celebrity this time Marius." he said making it clear that he had just given him the file for his squads newest member.

Atul Well, Dunian Desert

Deep within the Deserts surrounding Dunia a party of five surrounded the well. It was an old well for sure. Seven hundred and ninety years ago it was built to be a rest stop for travelers on their way through the desert, but only those who dwelt within Oasis knew of its location. It wasnt much, a Stone well around six feet across with a large sandstone gazebo covering it and offering much needed shade from the suns rays. A few yards west of it was a deep indention in the sand where one could reach the shelter below. To the east were several wooden poles sticking out of the sand, worn from the desert winds.

Around the well was a small party of five. Two wore tan robes and cloaks seeming to blend into the sand, as they drew water for the other three. One of whom was clearly a soldier His golden armor bearing the lion crest of Dunia, and his golden sword sitting on his hip left little doubt. The seven diamonds embeded around the lion crest, two on each of his pauldrons and one very large one on the pommel of his sword and each boot seemed to glisten even in the shade, A clear symbol of rank. The other two were none other Than the Dunian prince Ahi Sim, and his constant companion for the past year, Ceilia white.

Leaning back on his hands the prince complained. "how long do you have to rest, someone might get there before us and-" he was cut off by Ceilia. "And what? Last time i checked your the only one who can open it. Relax your Royal tits Ahi." the prince looked to his guard for support but found him only snickering. "Is there something you find funny Jokan?" the soldier continued snickering as he turned his eyes to the dunes once more, Ever vigilant. Sighing in defeat the price held up two fingers. "Two more hours then we leave." his servants nodded silently and Ceilia stuck her tounge out at him, but smiled. The smile cause ahi to blush which he tried to hide behind the water cup his servant had passed him.

Forest of the unclaimed lands
On the shores of crystal clear lake sat a large reptilian man calmly fishing with a simple fishing pole. This was the lizardfolk warrior Jaz. While Jaz would usually be out looking for adventure or protecting nature. But right now it seemed like our hero was just relaxing on the shore... well until a raptor jumped out of the water and on to the shore. "You find the monster lurking in the water?" Jaz asked as a young sea serpent burst out of the water.

"Who dares enter my domain?!" the serpent hissed out in a tongue regular adventurers wouldn't understand. But Jaz was different because he could understand it clearly, because special magic he had, nature speak.

"I've come here to see if the rumors of the monster threating the local's fishermen were true," Jaz said putting his fishing pole down and grabbing his large sword.

"A mortal creature able to speak my tongue, how interesting but if your here to protect those idiotic humans, then I must take care of you. For this lake is my lake! And no beast or man shall take from my lake!" the serpent screeched out before charging at shore ready to bite down on Jaz. Jaz rolled out of the way, causing the serpent to crash into the dirt. Before the serpent could raise his head Wake jumped onto it's back and bit into its neck. The serpent screeched even more as he began waving his head back and forth. Then as the serpent was distracted by the threat on its neck Jaz joined in. Jaz jumped into the air and slashed into the serpents' neck. With that strike, the serpent neck and head fell onto the shore.

Wake jumped off the serpent's neck and ran up to Jaz, where quickly began getting petted. "Good job boy. Let's start dragging it out and bring it to the village near here. This should help them recover from the fish they lost after the monster set up its domain here" Jaz said as a he looked into the air to see a city in the sky... before an explosion enveloped it. "What is that?..." Jaz said staring at the city. He noticed something falling from the city. "Wake remember this place okay, we'll come back here later," Jaz said jumping onto Wake back. The pair rode off in the direction of the floating city and the person or thing falling from it...

Not too long later the pair made to eh area where the survivor landed. The two stared at the man... and the tentacled creature with him. "Did you just fall from a flying city? Here I thought I had an eventful day after killing a lake monster." Jaz decided to ask to get an idea who or what he dealing with.

Ezekiel awoke almost abruptly, nothing made him wake up but it felt odd in some ways. As he arose, his took a deep breathe in through his nose and— “God I stink.” His mouth smelled of death and his appearance reflecting that. He wasn’t in his prime, not today anyway. “Where to go. Where to go..” Ezekiel pondered on which direction he should head but couldn’t decide. Finally frustrated, he unlatched his Cup of Matala from his hip and held it out in front of him. He turned 90 degrees left every 3 seconds, seemingly judging the reaction of his cup. Nothing happened, Matala wasn’t a navigation god, he’s the god of hedonism and pleasure, how would he know which way to go? Ezekiel didn’t know and didn’t care. By some miracle of god, Ezekiel’s cup’s Matala brand alcohol rippled for a slight second. “Matala my savior!” Ezekiel held the cup high as he praised his patron god. He took a full gulp of alcohol from the cup and walked in the direction he was instructed on going by the cup.

He walked for an hour, and not much changed. All he could see for miles was green, maybe some blue but that was subjective in different eyes. Ezekiel, almost gave up before he noticed a small tower in the distance. “Matala you damned loveable god!” Clearly it was another sign by Matala. As Ezekiel walked up the small hill that covered the distance between him and that gift of a tower, he noticed a large collection of monsters. “Hmmm.” Ezekiel put his hand to his chin and thought for a moment why a bunch of monsters would be surrounding a fortress. “Weird.” Of course Ezekiel was curious so he took it upon himself to investigate. Most of the monsters looked vaguely human, but they were too occupied with the fortress. After a minute of looking around, he saw the most human thing in the large crowd. “Ah! That must be the one in charge!” Ezekiel speed walked over to the large, almost crystalline man.

As Ezekiel stood only a few feet away from the large man, he spoke. “Well hello friend! What might you be doing this fine day?” Ezekiel asked with great glee and joy in his voice, clearly he was the happiest man among the crowd. “I myself am on a quest! A quest to find some demon men and kill them, although I have no idea what they look like nor where they are.. Mind helping me out? Like have you seen any demon-looking guys recently?” Ezekiel took a brief look around at the monsters. Maybe they‘re planning a surprise party!

Marius happily accepted the Stogie the general offered, tucking it away in his breast pocket for later. A small smile gracing his scarred visage upon receiving his orders. This was good, He would be put to use once again, and he would not fail. Standing at ease, he replied with a bit of mirth. "It will be done Sir. I was already starting to go stir crazy after returning from Titania. It'll be good to be in the field again. Not the mention the possibility to cause some trouble for Bhanell sir."
With that said, he was prepared to be dismissed when the aging general slid a file across his desk. Casually, he picked it up and began looking through it. The General must have seen his surprise when he saw who he was taking on as an aide. Didn't even know she got into the academy. Surprises never seem to cease this evening. He thought tucking the folder under his arm and stood straighter. "I will be sure to train her to be the finest officer to ever graduate the Academy Sir!" He said with such conviction, that there was no doubt he would succeed.
After the quick briefing, Marius was dismissed. Upon exiting the General's office, he was surprised to see the object of their discussion. Dressed sharply in her Cadet's uniform, Marius was impressed by the Moon Al-mi'raj. Clearing his throat to gain the woman's attention, Marius hit her with a stern glare. "Attention Cadet. As of right now you have been transferred under my command for the foreseeable future. While under me, you will follow my orders, and learn from my example. In return, I will train you to be the best you can be, not only as a soldier, but as an officer of the Military Republic of Lunari Armed Forces." The Illustrati Colonel belted out. Not waiting for a response, he continued. "At 05:00 hours, we will depart on a mission. You will be accompanying me. From there we will head to the Quarter Master then the airfield. After that, I will brief you and the rest of the squad on our mission. You may get some rest on the flight. Understood Cadet?" With her briefing complete, Marius removed the Stogie from his breast pocket and chomped down on the end before lighting it with a small flame spell. After a few puffs, clouds of tobacco smoke floated about him, the end glowing a cherry red before leading the Alien girl out the building and to his personal Puma. Unlike the usual ATS's, Marius' was modified with a roll cage, removing the mounted gun in lieu of addition seating and storage. Jumping into the driver's seat, he started the vehicle, it's engine roaring to life. "Jump in Cadet. We have much to do, and little time to do it."

Silver Spire, Commander's Office
(Crusix Phase: First Quarter)
Yusaria made her way through the halls of the Silver Spire until she arrived at the office. She tried to stay calm as she anticipated what the Commander would look like... Although before she could go for the door, someone walked out of it, making a weird noise with his throat and immediately starting to talk. He told her that she was assigned to him, to which she realized she should be standing at attention. Was this the Commander? He was a little younger than she expected him to be.

"Yes, sir!" She replied to him, thankful that he hadn't said anything she'd need him to repeat. Okay, so she didn't know what some of the fancier words he used meant, but she got the general idea, and she had a feeling she'd be learning them in time anyway. She followed behind him, nervous and unable to think of anything to say to this authority figure. She didn't want to risk saying something wrong and accidentally make him mad. So instead she just quietly followed him out to the car (Which looked pretty different from the others she was used to. Why did they cut out the roof and windows?) and sat in the backseat, shoulders hunched and hands pressed between her thighs.

Training was one thing, she'd managed to handle that... But now she was going to do the real thing, with an actual commander giving her orders, not just a teacher. She wasn't sure which part scared her more.

Marius sighed through his nose, when she hopped in the back shaking his head imperceptibly. Having to remind himself she's not from this country. This also brought up the question on the grasp of the common tongue. Looking at her through the rear view mirror, he cleared his throat again to gain her attention. "Cadet, get in the passenger seat. There is no need to ride in the back." After that being said, the colonel switch on the radio, keeping an ear out for any further communications. Once the girl was seated up front, he pulled the Puma out of the Parking lot and further into the base, the vehicle accelerating to 45mph south bound to the first of their stops. The Armory and Quarter Master. "Tell Me Cadet, where are you in your training?"

Then the commander asked her about her training "Ah, I'm still getting used to the items." She said, patting the stun baton clipped to her belt to indicate to him what she meant "I know how to use all of them, I just need to remember to use them instead of magic when the Moon's not feeling well. She ran in the direction of the water she smelled soon reaching and Oasis, her luck was better than she thought it'd be, that was until she senses picked up something else, more smells, five smells to be exact. There were people here, rather they were friendly or not she didn't know. She had two options before her approach her cut her losses and leave. If they were friendly maybe she could get some water, if not she'd likely have a fight on her hands if she stayed. If she left and they were foe she'd have avoided trouble, but if they were friendly she'd have missed an opportunity.

Well, when has a little fight ever bothered me? She thought to herself and proceeded to approach the group of campers, slowly. She didn't want to run in head first and if she had to she wanted a head start to be able to to get the hell out of dodge if she needed to have a better position if she needed to fight.

She walks up to the group very slowly, trying to seem as non-threatening as a wolf her size could possibly look, not bearing her teeth or growling at them...yet, but rather that would become an eventuality was entirely up to them. Her gold and blue eyes shine in the darkness reflecting the moon's light like little mirrors, giving here a more ominous look than she'd have cared to have right now, but still, she tried. The only reason she stayed in her dire wolf form, for now, was because it was that it was faster and easier to escape with if she needed to, not that she couldn't manage on two legs but it was also still cold as the devil's toenails out there.

Granya - The Golden Kingdom
Not for the first time, Rahu looked out from his rooms in and wondered where it had all gone wrong. As short as a year ago his only real concern was becoming strong enough to surpass his brothers. That was the sum total of all his worries. Now, he had millions in this city depending on him, as well as the rest of the nation that he was trying very hard not to think too hard about. Eight days they had been trapped here, millions crammed into a city designed for far, far less than that. Luckily it was a fortress town by design, which made it more defensible than even the capitol. The idea was that any significant invasion force would have to pass through one of the other fortress cities before reaching the capitol itself, but those cheating bastards had bypassed everything and used a portal, blindsiding them. Even then, they might have been able to hold on, him and his brothers. Three Legendary heroes together with an army at their backs was no force to sniff at, but Balmond himself had killed Splitting Heavens and Piercing Sky, their former mentor ripping them apart with his bare hands. Rahu had been defending the city's west wall when he heard. It was as if the sky had fallen around his head. The following months were a panicked dash as Rahu scrambled around the nation gathering as many soldiers and supplies as possible, until they were caught by this army led by that bastard commander. He even looked stupid, with those ridiculous frills on his head. It was impossible that those were useful for anything beyond intimidation. And he wore a cape. An actual cape.
Rahu threw his cloak over his shoulders as he left his rooms to survey the walls. Every few hours the commander would order an assault on the city, usually with those flying beasts. A squad of archers was placed on every wall to combat this specifically, with a few that he had trained himself in each squad, each with a legacy weapon. They could deal adequately with any standard threat. However... he could use some target practice.

As he summoned his bow to his hand and absent-mindedly aimed it at the incoming abominations, he noticed something very odd. His eyes were superb, beyond human in every way. As a result of this, he could easily see across the battlefield, where he saw a human communicating with the commander. This was weird. The standard policy of the invaders was to kill on sight, and the human looked like he had just walked up and started a conversation. Odds were the man was about to die, horribly. The Rahu of a year ago would have immediately rushed out to save him, but he couldn't do that any more. He had people depending on him and he was under no illusions that his death would lead to anything other than the wholesale slaughter of everyone in Granya.

...Nevertheless, he issued an order to a courier nearby to mobilise the Old Guard. Just in case.
Then he shot those fucking abominations out of the sky.

Marius gave a short grunt of annoyance. The Academy must be getting lax in their training... I'll have to rectify this. Even if it means making the commandant step down... He thought, putting more pressure on the gas peddle thus making the Puma accelerate to an even greater speed, the scenery whipping by rapidly. "That will be rectified while you serve under me Cadet. Soon, any weapon you pick up will become an extension of your body, hardwired into your instincts." He explained as he pulled the E-brake, forcing the vehicle to drift around a corner before accelerating once more. After several long moments of silence, Marius spoke once more as the Armoury came into sight. "How is you grasp of Mil-speak? Kannst du verstehen, was ich Kadett sage?"

When he asked her about 'Mil-speak', she shrunk even further and shook her head, even more worried about his response "I still have a lot of English to learn, so another language on top of that has been hard... I apologize, sir. I promise I'll try my best to learn as much as I can."

Something told her this was going to be a stressful trip. Not that she was having second thoughts, and it was far too late for that anyway even if she was. It was more that she maybe underestimated how tough this road would actually be.

A small smirk graced the Colonel's face at her response. "Worry not Cadet. I understand learning a language later on in life can be a challenge let alone three. Do not be afraid to ask questions. If you don't understand something, voice it. I can not teach you otherwise if you fail to ask for clarification." Marius replied in a rather jovial tone, trying to put the rabbit girl at ease. "Remember, you are under my command, therefore like any other under my command, you are also under my protection and the protection of your fellow squad mates. That being said, you are to honor and protect them as well. We are your family now. Remember that." He added as they pulled to a stop in front of a rather reinforced building. As soon as the parking brake was set, the engine died with a rumble. Not wasting any time, Marius picked up the file, and got out of the ATS. "Let's get you kitted properly." and with that, led her inside.

Yusaria saw his smile and heard the change in his tone, which managed to ease her tension, if only a little bit. While she made careful note of everything he said, making sure she understood him fully, one of his statements confused her "We're family...?" She asked, tilting her head. It wasn't that she didn't understand what the word meant - Her foster parents had made sure to teach her how important a family was. But the only family she knew of were her foster parents, and even then she was still unsure if that counted as a real family, since they weren't there when she was born. At least, that was her understanding. When did she become this squad's family...?

The car stopped, and they both climbed out to head into the building. He mentioned getting her 'Kitted properly', which she assumed meant that she was going to get something more than this lightning-enchanted gear "What am I getting, sir?"

Marius could hear the confusion in her tone, along with the body language she was displaying. Pausing by the door, he turned to face her. "Yes Yusaria. We are family. We are brothers and sisters in arms, a bond that transcends blood relation. In time, you will understand." He said in a gentle tone, placing a hand on her shoulder in a sign of camaraderie. When her next question came up, a toothy smile appeared on his face. "According to your scores and overall preference, I'm thinking a Perforater Shard Thrower, and a collapsible Glaive." Marius replied pulling the door open before entering the facility.
Upon entering, he was greeted by another aging Illustrati. "Colonel Marius Arulious! How can I help you this time sir?" He asked with a smile, seemingly happy to see the officer. This of course was true, as Marius tended to see him most often buying supplies either for personal projects or for missions. Without wasting time, the colonel opened the file and slid over a requisition form.
The quarter master's eyes bulged upon seeing the orders and the permission to take anything he required. Giving a nod, the quarter master signed off on it. "What do you need Sir?"
"I'll need a full battle kit for the cadet, a Perferater, and a collapsible Glaive. Several ammo boxes full, five dozen assorted grenades, enough Rations to last three days for an six man team, and a dozen Arcane Batteries. Have it Delivered to the Airfield by 0200 hours at hanger 0751C" Marius said, getting a nod from the man behind the fenced off counter. Once it was all written down the aging soldier motioned for the cadet to follow him to get fitted for her armour.

Yusaria still didn't really understand, but he told her that she would. He also said a bunch of words she didn't quite get to try and explain it. But she trusted him that she would eventually know what he meant, so she just smiled back silently as they entered the facility. There, she finally got his name from the old guy working inside. Colonel Marius Arulious, huh? She smiled a little, thinking that name sounded kinda cool.

She remembered the Perferater and Glaive from her training. While she wasn't a huge fan of the gun, it still helped in places where the Glaive wouldn't be as useful. What did he mean by 'Collapsible', though? She almost recognized the word, as she knew collapsing meant something falling in on itself. But why would you want a weapon to do that? She tried to figure it out while she followed the old man into the fitting room to get her armor set up. As she saw it though, the first thing she noticed was the helmet - Not only did it look like her ears would be really cramped inside it, but she was sure it wouldn't fit anyway because her horn would get in the way. She hoped he had a solution for that.

Looking over the helmet, the quarter master hummed in thought before grabbing a measuring tape and a piece of chalk. "Now hold still cadet. This will only take a moment." The old Quarter master said, getting her measurements and marking them on the helmet with the piece of chalk. With that done, the old soldier made his way to the armourers bench and began drilling out holes in the helmet. After about five minutes of drilling and filing, he placed it on her head. "There. Perfect fit. Now to get the rest of the gear on. I'll leave that to you. Come out when you have it on properly." And with that the quarter master left to fulfill the rest of his orders.

Yusaria would've nodded, but he told her to stay still. He put a bunch of tape on her head and drew on the helmet with a short white stick. She watched curiously as he drilled the helmet, only realizing after he put the helmet on her head that they were for her ears and horn to slip through effortlessly. She smiled gratefully at him "Thank you. Okay, I'll do that." She said, watching him leave. She almost didn't wait for him to shut the door before stripping down to change outfits, only just barely remembering that she had to be alone to change. Apparently it made her foster parents nervous, judging by how red their faces got when she first tried to change clothes before they had left. She didn't really get why - Her foster parents awkwardly brushed over that part - but she understood that it was a trait common to everyone in the world.

Once she had her gear on, she stepped outside, still smiling "How is it? Did I do it right?"

Marius circled around the girls pulling at pieces of plating and adjusting straps every now and then. After a minute, the Colonel nodded in satisfaction. Walking over to the counter, Marius hefted the easily recognizable Shard Thrower, and what looked to be a single edged short sword. Upon closer inspection, one would notice a small pressure switch on the hilt. Giving it a quick squeeze, the hilt extended out into a 4ft haft. Looking it over and giving the glaive a few test swings, he gave another nod before squeezing the switch again, causing the haft to collapse. with that done, he gave the weapon another few test swings then handed it over to his aide. "These are yours. Keep them clean and in top condition and they will serve you well." He said before making his way to the door. "We've got another few stops to make before we leave for the airfield. Let's Move." Without any fanfare, the two made their way back into the Puma to complete the final tasks set before them. This meant stopping by the Officers barracks to grab his gear and combat skin, The barracks reserved for his team, all of which moved like a well oiled machine before climbing in the back. With time to spare, Marius decided to treat the squad to a hearty meal at the local diner since it would be the last warm meal for a few days. This in turn raised the spirits of the men and women with him and hopefully their newest addition. By 0130 hours, they had made it to the hanger, pulling the Puma inside and under the recognizable Albatross Transport.

Grenya, Golden kingdom

As the swarm of Cyribdis Raptors decended upon the fortress they spread out wide and went after any whom they could get ahold of. Many were struck from the sky and fell into the fortress where they dissolved into a greenish gass which dissapated quickly leaving nothing behind but the occasional diget and bit of beak. Yet their numbers were still large enough to survive more than a single archer volley And as the remainder of the swarm came upon the archers bloodcurdling screams began to fill the air as powerful hands of horrors crushed chainmail into the flesh of the men unlucky enough to find themselves in their grasp. Razor sharp beaks harder than diamonds cut straight through plate mail and carved gashes into Shields. However the attack was short lived as the soldiers morale overcame their fear and they turned their weapons on the remaining horrors. Even still hundreds of men met their deaths from the wounds, and hundreds more from being pulled off the fortress wall to a fatal plunge below. However with the last of them downed the archers could turn their attention back to the tentacled horrors that had begun climbing over one another forming a ramp of flesh for the next one to climb. Already they had made it a quarter of the way up the wall, and they rose higher like a gurgling flood.

Na'sur was still fantisizing about the tasty human flesh within the fortress guiding the horrors telepathically to begin climbing each other to reach the wall. He had more than enough horrors to reach his goal, however his attention was snatched by a mortal who began babbling in their primitive tounge. He always wondered what they were saying, but his brain was not designed for communication with his targets. Instead he spoke the one human word he had learned. "Diiiiieee" it hissed as it drew its swords with unnatural lightning speed. At the same instant an otherworldly aura began to build around him and slid down the blades of his sword which crackled with a reddish electical current. The strike came even faster than the drawing of the blade, followed by another, and another. A flurry of blows each capable of shattering steel. With each swing he repeated his single common word "Diediediediedie." as the attack was pressed dozens of horrors heard the noise and when their eyes fell upon the food they began to shamble towards the human with purpose.

The Pilot Albatross transport met the commander and his squad with a smile and a salute. She looked to be in her middle ages and the notches on her bracer as she saluted showed vast numbers of previous flights under her belt. "Nice to be back in the air commander. For times sake ive been cleared for a direct flight we will maintain high altitude over Nebulae and make our landing in the plains seven miles south of the worldspear. From there its up to you and the puma sir. Shouldn't take us more than a half hour. Return trip will be longer though, dont wanna do a flyover twice if i dont need to. Of course i can take an alternate flight path if you would like." her tone was calm and professional despite the danger Nebulaen airspace presented. Illusions and mind tricks were deadly if you were thirty thousand feet up and that was saying nothing of the telekinetic projectiles. Shields did well against a bullet or a missile, but a 30 ton boulder, not so much. Hopefully her confidence was contagious.

Forest of the unclaimed lands.

Jinsieg rose from his fall with the crack of his back popping. He looked up at the branches he had crashed through which did their own part to cushion his fall. "Thank you Daiara." he said to the tentacle monster who responded with a bored look. But then its eye wided and it pointed with a tentacle to the brush just as a Raptor and a strange bipedial lizard being walked from the brush. The weapon it carried at least gave him the inclination that it was intelligent, he was about to prepare to order Daiara to unleash an eye beam on the pair when the lizard man spoke and he immediately scolded himself internally for the thought.

"Yes I did, and quite a fall it was." he walked forward with a smile and extended his hand. "The names Jinsieg, that city is called Tyrados... A serpent you say? You wouldnt happen to have a bit of it left i would be willing to pay a good price." most would think after what he just saw and lived through he would be shaken up, and in truth he was but he still needed to keep his head clear and think rationally. Rationally speaking whoever or whatever blew up the damned city could very well still be dangerous, and capturing the essence of a serpent could be benificial for dealing with it later.

Atul Well, Dunian desert.

Ahi and Ceilia continued their banter while the servants got themselves some water of their own. Yet Jokan had his eyes scanning the desert horizon, as much a pain in the ass as this prince was, he was paid a pound of gold a day to make sure the prince was unharmed, and would be paid with death if he was harmed. As such when he saw the rather large wolf on a slow approach he filled the air with the ringing of his sword being drawn.

He prepared to call down a pillar of searing sunlight when Ahi, who had just looked up and saw the beasts multi-colored eyes shouted. "Jokan stop. I want it. Look at how beautiful it is. Ill give you a fifty pounder if you bring it to me alive." Jokan rolled his eyes. Of course the foolish boy wanted the creature, yet he shifted gears bracing his sand magic instead. Fifty pounds of gold was too good an opportunity to pass up. So he sheathed his blade and raised his hands non threateningly as he gestured for the servants to bring him some water. The female servant Lythos was the quickest to act bringing jokan her own water dish, which happened to be conviently wide rimmed.

"Come here girl, get yourself a drink." he said in a soft tone as he set the water down in the shade of the gazebo. He preparred himself mentally to cast a sandpit spell if the wolf wound up trying to attack but other than that he had completely relaxed himself and kept his hands easily visible. "Come on, dont bite me and i wont bite you, deal?" Jokan found himself feeling foolish. Here he was talking to a wolf in an effort to catch it for a spoiled kid that wasnt even his own. However he shoved it into the back of his mind with the rest of the foolish and downright embarassing memories the prince had given him.

Titainia to Nebulae.

Ghett walked with his wife astrid for several minutes until they reached the end of the Pyramid palaces courtyard. She tried to cover up her nerves with reports but ghett had known astrid for over a thousand years and he could see into her soul by now as she could his. He finally cut her off and said "I will be home soon my love, i will find what i seek, and none will stop me from returing to you. The gods themselves will fall before that happens." Astrid nodded and leaned in to kiss the king before he launched himself into the clouds with a flex of his leg muscles and vanished from her view.

When he finally landed he had adjusted his size down to its minimum two meters midair, granting himself a much longer flight time. He had covered hundreds of miles in his first leap, in his second leap he covered hundreds more and the mountain ring that made up the borders came into view. Feeling excited for his first visit back to the world of the smallfolk in a few centuries he mustered a large amount of strength and shot himself over the mountain barrier landing hard within the borders of Nebulaen Territories. Finally he stopped his leaping, smallfolk didnt take kindly to craters in their lands, and if he recalled correctly this particular tribe of them were on pretty bad terms with the giants. Luckily there was not a single house in sight. So he opted to speed up the trip by returning to his casual seven meter height. Longer strides meant faster jogging after all and jog he did. At a casual pace of around fourty miles an hour he would reach his target just before the suns set.

Hundreds of miles off the Lunarian Coast.

Na'Khan Stood with a proud look on his face as his raft of bloated corpses amd wood carried him across the sea. The stench of death bringing him pleasure. The raft was huge, at least 120 meters long, and 60 meters wide. And it was filled to the brimm with A variety of horrors so dreadful one would go mad trying to focus on the crowd for too long. Worse still his wasnt the only raft.

Hundreds of them of the same make drifted along side him steered by a dark cloud behind them which seemed to travel with them. Unnatural reddish lightning crackled within the cloud bringing an even more ominous air to the scene. As Na'Khan stood reveling in the victory he had achieved across the sea, The sound of a Cyribdis teleportal turned his attention behind him to see Na'Homid. The Strange fourarmed creature touched its hand to Na'Khan's forhead and held it there for a brief couple of seconds before he retracted it and the two bowed mutually. The air behind Na'Homid tore open to reveal a swirling black bloblike substance which made the disinct warbling sound that Na'khan had heard. Na'Homid stepped into the black goop and the tear in the air closed behind him leaving Na'khan to his own devices.

Marius quickly returned the salute, as the rest of his team began loading supplies onto the transport. "Well met. I'll trust your judgement on our route. If we can avoid the elves, all the better. I'm sure you've already been briefed, but in the event you were not, we have three days to investigate the target. If shit hits the fan, I need you ready for immediate dust off. That is all." With that out of way, he set to helping the rest of his team load up the supplies. With years of training and countless missions under their belts, they had their supplies loaded and the Puma secured for transport. Entering the spacious aircraft, Marius strapped himself in, making sure their newest member was secured as well.
"Get some shut-eye cadet. We'll need you at your best." He said as the others strapped themselves into their seats, all taking his advice, even though it wasn't directed at them. Minutes later, the Albatross began to vibrate as her six turbines spun up, the sound of her engines whining as it quickly ascended forcing everyone into their seats. As soon as the pilot got them to the minimum altitude, the Albatross rocketed towards their destination, continuing it's climb. It would be around 12 hours before they arrived at the LZ, deep within enemy territory. After a while, Marius began once again going through the Cadet's file, while planning out her training on the mission. Taking out his flask filled with the whiskey he had brought back, he took a quick nip from it before offering it to the cadet. "Welcome Sabre Team."

Albatross Transport, Eastern Nebulae
Hours had passed since their departure from Argentum Turris. During this time Marius had begun aiding the cadet with her grasp of Common and of Mil-speak. While at times he wanted to beat his head against the bulkhead, he kept his cool and pressed on. Just as he was about to call it a day on her studies, the pilot's voice came over the intercom alerting the team they were approaching the LZ. Taking that as their cue, Marius and the others began passing out supplies and ammunition. Minutes later, the Albatross touched down, the rear ramp opening as the magnetic release was activated dropping the Puma to the grassy earth. "Secure the LZ! Move! Schnell! Schnell!"

When they arrived at the airfield, Yusaria started to help load supplies onto the airship while the Colonel spoke with the... Pilot, she gathered. She didn't know where all the stuff went, so she was mostly picking them up and handing them off to the other squadmates to load onto the ship. Still, she was putting in a goodwill effort to help. Then when the Colonel told her to get some sleep, she nodded and strapped herself in as well, closing her eyes to sleep. She'd only just barely fallen asleep though, before the Colonel woke her up to offer her something in a bottle. She took a quick sniff at it, it smelled... Weird. She didn't like it, so she turned it down as politely as she could.

Once the airship touched down and the Puma was dropped to the ground, she followed everyone else's lead and ran to secure the "LZ", which after a moment's contemplation she realized probably meant 'Landing Zone'. It made sense. She held her extended glaive in her hands as she looked around, keeping a sharp eye out for anything that might be hostile. This was the part she was good at, having had eighteen years of practice at it while she was on her own.
