Rain patterns danced over the ruins of the abandoned castle, a place feared by the local Beastfolk, as it was a reminder of the tyrant Humans who once ruled over them. The sound of soft, talons on the stone floor echoes through the damp, moldy hall as the two birdfolk explored. "Crinkler... We shouldn't be here, what if we anger the human spirits that dwell here?" Said the young male to his sister. Crinkler was only a year older than her brother Gripp, though she always took it upon herself to lead him on their exploratory adventures.

A soft chirp of amusement came from the ravens beak as she stretched out her wings to address the beautiful castle "what can the dead featherless do to us? It's not like they can ask us to leave." She laughed softly, continuing to poke around the castle chambers. The younger bird man watched his sister with concern "but what about the curse? The magic?" Questions the boy as he quickly followed Crinkler into what seemed to be a ruined library of sorts. "Doesn't that concern you at all? The humans went extinct because of magic, should we not at least be wary?" Gripp stopped and turned quick, his feathers fluffing as he hears a airy whisper by his head.

Gripp was suddenly alone in the dark ruins, quick to cry out for his older sister "Crinkler! Sister! Where are you!? He stopped suddenly feeling a chill up his spine. Someone, or something was with the boy. He began to hear whispering of ancient incantations around him, was this the magic that killed the humans? He made another attempt to shout before his body grew too weak. The world around him fading.

Crinkler had become distracted in the ancient library, fiddling with what remaining human items where there, that was when she noticed the silence. She blinked her pale eyes a couple times before looking around confused "brother?" At first she assumed the young bird had simply stayed in the main hall, until she squawked again only louder now "Brother!" Lacking a response the young lady began to worry, hurrying back into the hall where she last saw him "Gripp! Where are you?"
