phibglib Thanks for coming over, just a reminder as there is some minor changes compared to before when you can think of some kind of theme you'll want for your characters magic and put that on your sheet. Also you MAY want to do a bit more for your backstory its not much to work on, but if you need more info on the world or even just help I can facilitate.

Well I feel thats more a question for you. Are you satisfied with the character as they are now do you feel you need or want any info I may be able to give that you think could help flesh them out? My thing is more just that the backstory for them is really simple and like y'know a sentence.

Well, the impression I got is that this is a mostly mundane world, so I'm treating it as "Like Reality Unless Noted". And you're right that the information on her is sparse. She doesn't exactly have a tragic backstory or any traumatic life events like the character who was just posted, but I don't that should be necessary either. I could say for example that her parents sent her to a Montessori school, that she's made lots of friends, or read lots of books, and while that information is true, it also seems a bit generic, doesn't it? I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have anything that distinguishes her life in any major way aside from experiencing personal growth as a result of reading and applying things, and most people can say they've done that at least a little bit. And also, the information under the "relationships" category, her family dynamic, contains a lot of what I'd normally put under "background".

Alright fair I can work with that. I do understand the problem with backstory when it comes to more "mundane" settings. Detailing her highschool career and AP classes isn't exactly riveting. In that case just put in a Magical Theme you'll want for her.

I have to ask I'm not sure how to but like with the paragragh thing is that regular as an rp style on here as I am only firmalr with the send a sentence kinda thing. which I don't mind doing it as I rrly like this rp I just struggle with reading long stuff like that with my ADHD but I really do wanna still be in it is there any like I don't even know like advise I guess? I can write like that but I kinda want like someone to give me an example maybe I just don't wannna mess up with it

Well lets set a baseline. How'd you do with the post I did detailing the setting in the Main thread? Any trouble reading the whole thing or was there a certain place you got to before your attention essentially vanished? I also have ADHD so I can at least empathize with your experience somewhat. I prefer more than one paragraph for posts as anything less is usually not much for other players to work off of and more a burden on them, but I define paragraphs as 5-8 sentences. So at minimum 10 sentences which really isn't a lot.

So idk if my post history is a good example because my post length tends to change depending on how much engagement my character is getting, otherwise my desire to write senseless filler gets really low lmao I'm sure Emiya can agree or disagree if my typical post length is good or not?

But you're basically just writing some actions, maybe some thoughts from the character, observations, dialogue. Basically them doing something or reacting to something happening around them.

Tho I will agree that as someone with AuDHD and possible dyslexia, reading sausage posts where there's no separation between massive walls of text makes me absolutely not want to read them at all unless I'm tagged in it XD

Btw if you ever have trouble with stuff like this I suggest using an AI software to condensed the words so it's more readable to you. Either by summarizing it or separating it out into actual paragraphs.

Made a kind of prologue post in part to work off of and in part to dust the mental cobwebs off. Once we get our people in we can officially start and everyones posts should begin chronologically after this one. Whether they are sleeping wandering about etc the 5 should feel or even see the flame come to them. Perhaps even have a dream.

Since this takes place within an AU of the real world get an idea of where you want your character to be from. Either we can have this all take place in the same city area I will craft, likely fictional. Or everyone can have their own area or be close to others as they see fit don't be afraid to talk amongst yourselves. Damon will bring the 5 together when necessary but I want to give opportunity for personal stories to develop.

Once again I am still relatively new to this so expect some growing pains. Based on how this RP wants to go structurally I may end up making different threads for various areas or seperate stories within the world if you all wish. Such as two charcters perhaps working together on something while others have their own thing going on. In that scenario though I would definitely have to bring in other staff.

I will wait till Wednesday (5/7) at the latest for all the Players to get here. Should they not I will open up recruitment.

yeah I mean I just get overwhelmed with all the words I will prob break it up for myself to read tbh just copy and paste into a Google doc and split it up makes it easier sometimes thanks for all the feedback y'all that's helpful
