Scene: 1

The coastal region of the South hosts rich city-states dominated by tyrants and in turn serve the Realm. Southeast of Chiaroscuro, the city of Vermillion glass, on hilly grasslands, your circle has run into Ghadan. Camels, horses, herd goats, and cows are all being shepherds by the Delzhan nomads, wearing their thin cotton and linen clothing, draped in cloaks and veils across their faces. The sun is blazing, and two group of nomads are shouting at each other.

"Liar! Your thieves took my sister—we found her scarf by the river!"
"Return our children, or we’ll paint the desert with your blood!"

It looks like that violence might escalate without some intervention.
-You could attempt to stop the crowd from fighting, either with a distraction (Like a Performance vs Resolve 1) or intimidate them with violence or others (Maybe showing off a flourish of your combat abilities, Dexterity+combat ability at difficulty 3).
-Or something else, a Charm or an anima power could do various things.

We are using Even Easier Stunts rule, so short version:
-All stunts are one point stunts by default. (You add 2 dice to the roll)
-Once per scene, you can declare a stunt to be a level 2 stunt.
-Once per session, you can declare a stunt to be a level 3 stunt. I will mark an appropriate moment to be the end of the session in a chapter as necessary.

Silent Bearer of Witness frowns as she pulls her cloak in around her tighter. She is currently using her Appearance Charm of Integrated Artifact Transmogrifier to conceal her Exalted nature as a crafted being, but still, the cloak gives her an extra sense of protection even with as flimsy as it is. Knowing that she has both her blade Destiny and her friend Neo available to lend a hand if things get messy, Silent steps forward and tries to push the two men apart, saying, "Gentlemen! This heat is far too brutal to try and have a shouting match. I couldn't help but overhear your words and thought that I might be able to offer a neutral ear to listen to your grievances and offer an unbiased opinion on your troubles. Would you be willing to allow me to arbitrate?" She offers up a winning smile, hoping to be able to convince the two sides to avoid armed conflict.

OOC I am going to use a Manipulation + Socialize roll to try and sway the crowd, along with 3m from Personal Essence to go to an Excellency. Total pool is 13 dice. Adding the one point stunt in for good measure

Evocations of Destiny
A user of Destiny may change the result of one die on an attack or damage roll, moving it up or down one digit. For example if a player rolls seven dice with the results “5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 2, 10,” they can change one of the dieʼs digits. In the above example, they might change the “6” up one digit to a “7” thus adding an additional successes. The magic of Destinyʼs evocations directly relates to the numbers rolled on dice. As such some players may also choose to decrease a number rolled.

Silent Bearer of Witness moved before the clans could draw blood. His offer to mediate hung in the air like a blade hesitant, dangerous.

Then a man shoved forward from the Hyderi ranks. Dhaki. His fingers trembled around a scrap of fabric, knuckles white. Evidence.

"Only the Zaidi have the power to do this!" His voice cracked. "That’s my sister’s scarf!"

A Zaidi elder spat at his feet. "Liar." The word was a flint-strike. "Your cowards stole our heir. We’ll burn your herds to ash."

Will give times for everyone to post here, the roll is successful, and prevented violence.

"That a daughter of the Hyderi is missing is clear. That an heir of the Zaidi is missing is also clear. But neither side has provided proof that the other is at fault for this. We only know that there are two stolen children."

Jin Shi spreads his hands wide, looking from one man to another, carefully gauging their reactions. He suspected someone might be trying to manipulate the situation or at least knew more than they let on... The handsome swordsman smiles genially as he steps forward, his eyes flickering across the people as a hunting hawk's. The wind billows his clothes as his words cut through the air like a blade.

"The lands ever hold dangers. Could they not have been taken by bandits belonging neither tribe for ransom? Zaidi, where was your heir seen last?"

Using READ INTENTIONS to see if there's anyone acting 'shifty' about the situation in the crowd, and see if both sides are being genuine. If this also calls for a Persuade roll to convince them to say information, I'll roll it too. Spending 1 peripheral essence on MOTIVE-DISCERNING TECHNIQUE. Total dice pool is 4[wits]+1[socialize]+1[Socialize: Empathy Specialty]+2[lvl 1 stunt]+3[excellency], with 9-again. Spending 3 peripheral motes on excellency.
Result: 2 successes

While Jin Shi assesses the situation, Wazudi currently in his totem form takes initiative. The red coated jackal pads over towards Dhaki and casually takes a deep whiff of the scarf’s scent. Hoping the scent of its owner is still there.

Reading Intentions:
Each side wants their youth returned, they believe the other side is responsible.

Jin Shi gets closer and takes the scent of the scarf in mind. Will be useful in tracking later.

With the scent of the girl in his nose, Wazudi puts his snout to the wind to find a possible trail to follow.

Neo doesn’t have much to say that hasn’t already been said; her thoughts are that there is someone that is trying to set these two clans against one another in an active fight. At the moment, she decides to try and slide up close to Silent Bearer and be ready to fight if things don’t go well for the constructed Exalt.

In the meantime, Neo will watch the crowd for any potential poison apples that are trying to instigate a fight

"Three nights past, under a moon so full it bruised the sky, young Jalal rode out to count the herds.

We found his mare at dawn...still saddled, still warm, grazing by the river’s edge like nothing was amiss. But the boy? Gone.

No hoof prints led away. No blade-marks scored the earth. Just... his riding crop lying in the shallows, wrapped in river weed as if placed there carefully."

"Do you have this riding crop? We will take his scent and track him as well. We will find the truth of this matter upon finding both the girl and the boy."

"Yes, we still have the crop back at camp. We have some money, but even us can't afford the services of many Princes of the earth."

It looks the nomads are assuming your group are some Dragon-Blooded, judging by your group panoply (Artifact armors and weapons)

Silent Bearer listens and watches as the members of the Circle step up and place themselves at her side, both metaphorically and physically. It makes her feel good that she had been found by such a good group of Exalts, especially when Jin Shi offered their help without demanding any currency from them. She then places a reassuring hand on the shoulder of the nearest man and says, "There are many things in life that are of worth besides jade. We value your good will, and having friends in multiple places would be a welcome thing. I do have questions of your two families. Is there a third party out there that would benefit to your two clans waging war against one another? It might be a worthwhile thing to look into."

"We do not refuse allies on the open steppe, the wind bites harder than any rival clan. As for others meddling? No hoof prints point to treachery. No stolen blades left in the dirt, no poison in the grazing lands. Only the river whispers lies... and our heir is gone."

The nomads are basically willing to show you guys around.

You could attempt an investigation around to find any unusual clues (The Hyderi camp and the Zaidi camp), the camps are mostly tents with the Hyderi clan having caravans and appearing to be mostly merchants, while the Zaidi clan appears to have desert riders and other warriors training in the camp. Both camps have herders and various animals roaming around.

Perception+Investigation, at Difficulty 5 for either camp, it is the case of the scene investigation action and takes roughly 15 min each. (A check for each camp, so 2 checks at least)

You could attempt to assist, introducing Teamwork: Basic teamwork: One character can describe how they are assisting someone, even with different abilities, if fitting, the assisting character can spend 1 WP to add one automatic success to the roll. The one who is receiving assistance can also spend a WP, and they stack, for more automatic successes. The main rolling character can even benefit from specialties of the assisting character on his roll.

Wazudi identifies the scent headed toward the Southwest. While some of the nomads looked at the jackal a bit suspiciously, they don't seem too surprised to see an exotic pet in company of a group of exalted.
You can, as usual, use other methods/charms that you see fit.

Neo looks at the speaker and says, “I cannot promise you that we’ll be able to find your heir alive and unhurt, but I will say that we will find you some answers, one way or another. In the meantime, will you please take us to the last known location of your missing heir so we might be able to find a few clues?”

Once there, the small woman will roll up her metaphorical sleeves and begin to examine the area with the keen eye of a thief trained in hiding details from law enforcement.

OOC I will spend a Willpower point for the auto success with my Investigation + intelligence pool, along with some Personal Essence to boost my pool to a total of ten dice. Any assistance from the group will be appreciated.

A total of six successes before any Teamwork bonuses.

Silent Bearer of Witness hums tunelessly to herself as she walks carefully alongside Neo as the young Solar pokes and prods around, trying to assist as best she can with her own limited knowledge base of investigation.

OOC I have an Int of three with no Investigation, but I boost my pool with personal Essence and add a Willpower dot to the search

Three more successes

"He has the scent. Let us away. No time to waste, after all."

OOC: Any rolls that we need to make while trailing the scent?
