Which Great Houses still exist? What's the state of the not-so-civil war on the Blessed Isle? I'm a Guild troubleshooter (Assassin, Spy, Thief, Consultant on matters legal, extralegal, occult, and economic) masquerading as an Outcaste Fire Aspected Prince of the Earth. If I was in Lords Crossing it was likely to work for one of the remaining power blocs with a presence there. Exalting in a meeting is going to be awkward.

Oh, and I notice you posted the 2e map of Creation - is it okay to be from places introduced in 3e like Ysyr?

All of the Great Houses still exist, but are in a current state of chaos as they are trying to decide who should replace the Scarlet Empress and how they should go about it.

The eastern third of the blessedIsle, including the imperial city, is firmly under Solar control, as well as the Aryeon Prefecture.

The Realms forces are spread thin, as Solars are popping up across creation and many territories are being inspired against the empire. The bulk of the forces remain in Lords Crossing to try and defend what they have and reconquer the blessed isle.

The Wyld Hunt has been all but destroyed. Not only has there been too many Solars and Lunars popping onto the radar, but with the wars, all forces are being focused into the military proper.

And yes, you may use 3e locations to your hearts content.

What do we know about the Solar polity that holds the Imperial City? Are they the only group of Celestials to hold territory on the Blessed Isle, and are any of the Celestial groups fighting each other?

While it is common knowledge that Anathema have taken the city, it is mostly rumors that is to go off of. Much propaganda was put out, telling of what foul deeds the Anathema must be performing inside the imperial city, and the descrations they are enacting. However, it is know that the one that seems to be at the head of the city is an anathema by the name of Five Gates. His reputation is that of a serpentine monster in human form. It is common belief that the Imperial City is being used as a staging ground for Anathema armies.

The Aryeon Prefecture, at the west of the Blessed Isle is almost entirely under Solar Control with the peninsula of the Eagle Prefecture being hotly contested.

The Bull of the North has successfully expanded his territory, but it is hard to tell how far.

At the start of the war, the kingdom of Gwynnin was one of the first Solar controlled territories. The Solars there lead one of the first charges against the Scarlet Empress. They were able to wrest a super weapon from her hands, but not before the Gwynnin itself was tragically destroyed by it. Three of its anathema leaders were confirmed dead by the Empress herself, the rest were missing but presumed dead in the kingdoms destruction.

Thorns was hit by the same super weapon that destroyed Gwynnin, but the might of the Mask of Winters brought the city itself from the grave. A group of Solars were able to oust the Mask of Winters, slaying him and freeing the city, though it is but a shell of what it once was and its surrounding areas devastated beyond recognition. They have been a great many sightings of ghosts and walking dead that still roam the area. But the Dynasts havent been bothered to devote the resources to try and take it back for it is considered strategically unviable.

Solars are not the only ones taking up arms. The Lunars too have become more bold. Claiming chunks of territory in the south and Scavenger Lands. While most seem to side with Solars, there are pockets reported to be hostile to the Solars. And there have been many reports of Lunars being with the Solars on the Blessed Isle.

The great Sorceress Raksi had sided with the Solars, however she was slain during the initial attack on the Imperial City.
