Within the Depths of a Dream
Etaria is our worlds name. The plane that exists between those of the gods and of the abyss or more commonly known as the wall that divides them.

World Map:

Majula

  • Overview - The largest and center most continent within Etaria, it is the most inhabited and politically torn out of the five. The High King, Wyrnth, claims to be a descendant from Urbain and a dragon himself which is how he has gained control of a majority of the continet’s human and some inhuman population.
  • Geography - The majority of the continent is covered with rolling hills near the southern part, once fertile prairies to the east, lush forests to the north, a slight desert scrub to the west with the center having a gentle mixture of all of them, it being the ideal location for the capital, Wyrcolm.
  • Climate - The climate is relatively stable throughout with mild winters and cool summers that favors farming and herding of various crops and animals. The extremes are in the west where the temperatures tends to rise a bit higher than normal during the day and become colder at night with the desert-like environment with an uncommon absence of rain. Some believe it to be their ancestors doing, others think the land was cursed by the gods. No one is for sure.
  • Population - There is a steady number of inhabitants on Majula, the most concentrated area being the center of the continent where the various human races settled and built of their empire. Inhumans are found here as well, but in not such a great number to to discrimination and prejudice

Elurra

  • Overview - Only being slightly larger that the other two and about half the size of Majula, Elurra is ruled by the elves, with a land bridge connecting their land to the humans for commerce and political reasons only for they normally have hostile relations despite being economically dependent on one another.
  • Geography - The land mass is a forest coated in towering trees so large, their utmost branches are lost admits the clouds. Their trunks are more than five fully grown male’ wingspan in diameter and are said to contain sap that gives immortality and ceases aging much like the elves. The terrain ranges from jagged rocky outcrops near the shores far below as there are no beaches to lush undergrowth further inland.
  • Climate - With the lack of sunlight reaching ground level, it's normally rather cool in the summer with temperatures reaching below freezing in the winter, creating a phenomenon known to them as “Freezing Fog” or when a thick snow begins to fall, but only less than halfway down the tree’s full length, the green leaves never falling.
  • Population - Although the number of elves has dwindled in the past years, they remain strong enough to not be considered a dying race, their kind split into multiple subspecies based upon the god they worship. Other races that align with their gods are known to take refuge here, mostly Fey, but humans are extremely rare.

Kutentha

  • Overview - The third largest of the continents, Kutentha is dominated by the orcs and are seldom communicated with unless they are being allied for war purposes as their generals are superior to all other within human or elven kind yet are lacking with the more intellectual arts.
  • Geography - Barren and rocky yet surprisingly fertile, the lands the orcs inhabit are prime land for farming, more or so than the center of Majula most likely due to the large and rich ore deposits exposed on their surface. Plants are claimed to grow many times larger than their normal size and ripen weeks easily, but no one has ever proven if this is true for how territorial the orcish people are.
  • Climate - Without trees, the air is relatively thin and cold all year round, with heavy snow in the winters and freezing rain as a common occurrence, more or so than clear skies.
  • Population - The land is divided by orcish tribes that constantly battle for control. Because of this and how territorial they are, no other nation has attempted to conquer their land, knowing they would suffer a brutal defeat.

Tseldora

  • Overview - Home to a race of sentient rock-like people known as Stalagma, the island makes it difficult for any flesh-shrouded being to survive due to its intense temperature extremes but is rewarding for those who do, for the welcoming people readily assist those who arrive at their shores.
  • Geography - Tseldora is the most diverse continent out of the lot of them, which is rather ironic considering it's one of the smallest save for Parmus. The center is a heated and very active volcanic wasteland with the four surrounding edges being broken up into three different sections: frozen tundra, rock outcrop where most live within tunnels beneath the surface, and a large section of a sandy shore line.
  • Climate - It depends on the area one is in. Extremely hot near the center with it unbearably cold in the tundra, cool in the rocky outcrop, and temperate along the shore.
  • Population - The continent is mainly made up of Stalagma and a sub-race to go along with each section of their landmass. But despite their imposing figure, the people of Tseldora are extremely welcoming to any who can withstand the temperature extremes, openly trading many different items with their visitors.

Parmus

  • Overview - The smallest out of all the continents by a long shot, Parmus was settled recently by a group known as Amoni. It was for all races to be able to live without discrimination and they, mostly, do. But there are of course still those who think otherwise and do not yet identify the previous colony as a fully fledged nation.
  • Geography - For being so small, the only real thing they have are flat prairies with scattered clumps of trees every now and then. The layer of topsoil is extremely thin which makes them rely on other nations for crops.
  • Climate - Temperate grasslands with endurable hot summers and cold winters.
  • Population - Extremely diverse, able to find anything from a werewolf to an undead. However, despite their welcoming nature, Children and mages are still looked down upon even though they aren't openly persecuted.

Dreamchaser’s Ruins

  • Overview - The remains of a once standing beautiful castle belonging to Queen Dremora that was build out of the water, it was said to have been destroyed once Voluna, the goddess of the moon, found of the human kingdom’s enslavement of the merfolk and cursed their people to lead the lives of those they had slaughtered.
  • Geography - From above water, all one can see are ominous, jagged shapes of stone that rise upwards for a ways in the skeletal form of what once was a grand castle. Viewing it from below however, the remains look as if they were purposely organized in a circular structure.
  • Climate - N/A
  • Population - Some scholars still speculate that the cursed species still exists around the site of their castle, almost driven mad by the hatred for land-dwelling folk although no one is for sure considering every ship set a sail out to the ruins is never to return.
