* This is a work in progress, I plan to work on fleshing out all of these details more if people are interested.

Erabus OOC / Erabus CS
(Please note, OOC will be done over discord while the RP will be hosted on it's own thread here on RPN.)

In the distant future, overpopulation forced Humans to inhabit another planet. Despite being roughly only half of its size, it is the only planet in the Milky Way galaxy that was able to be terraformed specifically for a massive civilization to flourish. It also happens to be the most recent planet discovered - a world named Erabus. At the start of the RP, however, people have been living on Erabus for hundreds of years.

Like Earth, Erabus is bustling with life. There are four different continents, each with their own unique language and landscape. One is completely urbanized, with many small cities littered around a centralized, large city. Another is completely rural, made up of small towns with equally small populations. The third is a collection of islands clumped up together, much like the Carribean. Finally, the fourth is the made up of small villages and desert. Unlike Earth, the citizens of Erabus are taught all languages from the time of their birth - eliminating language barriers for the inhabitants that live there.

Primouth - The most urbanized continent on the planet, Primouth is home to big businesses and their executives alike. It’s capital, Denbourgh, is the most populated city in all four continents.

The Grasslands - The big country. All farming and produce come out of its capital, named Millwood. On top of growing crops, this continent is also responsible for housing mass amounts of life stock, supplying meat to the other continents as well.

New Oceania - This cluster of Islands is home for vacationing spots. The wealthiest people on Erabus frequent the capital, Ghorra, due to its immensely beautiful beaches, incredible year-long weather and transparent turquoise water. New Oceania provides precious income from its tax to Erabus’ government, generated solely as a vacation destination.

Desetto - The only continent that does not generate a large income for the government. As a result, most people who live on the planet usually look down on the continent itself and those who hail from it. The capital of Desetto is Edin, which is as broken and beat-down as any village in the continent.
The story starts off with (x) number of young adults. Each one has or will obtain an artifact - a mysterious weapon that grants them immense power far beyond that of any typical human.

The (alpha) breakdown is as follows:

Wisdom; telepathy and teleportation.
Stamina; strength and speed.
Noir; invisibility and shapeshifting.
Empathy; healing and concussive blasts.
Element; fire and water.
Aerokinetic; wind and poison.

Depending on the number of people who join the RP, we can break down some of these artifacts into two powers. Inspiration for this comes from a number of stories from both RPN and traditional media; but for the time being it is planned to work in three parts.

Act 1 is named Erabus. If anyone has any suggestions or feels that some sort of addition/subtraction to this would serve better, please let me know.

It's only a work in progress in the way of... I don't want to put too much effort without people who can consistently bring great posts to the table. I know it's asking a lot, but I tagged three people who I know can give quality posts in a consistent fashion. Just trying to have RPN meet me half way.

We can build this together. That's ideal for me. But, I most definitely have a vision. Please ask me anything you feel might be relevant.

Oh, that's perfectly reasonable. I know people can have different standards for what qualifies as great roleplaying, and might want to stick with only the select few that meet those stated requirements. It was quite rash of me to assume that it was open to all just because of where it was placed.

I don't think I had any questions which would change your vision per say, but just clarification on possible structure and specifics used within. I understand that Erabus is a planet with similar possibilities to Earth's, but are the resources changed in any way? Do things like gas, electricity, and oil still work as the backbone for technology, or have people progressed/regressed? How is the society structured; is it similar to our current three-class system, or has it also developed differently? What sort of education is available to the masses, and what is the main focus in jobs and mindset? I'm sure it differs based on the continent, but is there any shared views on traditional beliefs like freedom and individual prosperity?

As you can see, they aren't anything too focal for the plot, but just curious retrospectives on the world-building for the roleplay. I hope my questions and earlier brashness wasn't too irksome.

I'm a bit exclusionary I suppose. I don't have a particular style of writing I want to see from my members - I don't like shoe boxing creativity or someone's stylistic choices - I just want people who consistently want to post. That's really all it is. That, and people who are literate pls.

The resources have changed, as they must have - this is many years in the future and the environment, despite being terraformed, is still different than Earth's own. At this point, i'd imagine that most forms of resources are self-sustainable. This would involve mainly creating resources to replace ones such as fossil fuels, coal and oil. Initially, I imagine that Earth assisted Erabus in sending resources before the people figured out how to take care of themselves. As to what those self-sustaining resources actually are, we are not far enough in the development phase to say. It's something worth exploring, though. Sorry if this doesn't exactly answer your question, but it's the best answer I have for you at the moment.

There are certainly class similarities between Earth and Erabus. However, where a person lives on Erabus is more closely aligned to their social status. For instance, you're more than likely born to a wealthy family if your character is from Ghorra. Middle-class in Grasslands. The poor live around Edin, in Desetto. While there are members of varying classes living all about, the majority will be easy to guess. So - yes, much like Earth, there's the few wealthy people, an upper-class, middle and lower-classes.

Education on Erabus is centralized - as there is only one government for all four continents. K-6th grade is completely tax-free. Taxes start applying from 7th grade throughout high school. There are colleges that run on the very same basis; free with only taxes applying. However, there are private colleges and universities as well for those who want to spend money on the best education. Erabus wants people to go through school; however, in a lot of areas in the Grasslands and Desetto, most people opt out to fall in line with their society. Farmers typically start working after 6th grade and people in Desetto just kind of do whatever the hell they want, as it's the wild-wild-west out there.

I'm really just giving you what's off the top of my head here. Stuff may change depending if I come across something better, but i think this is most likely how it will work. Or, serve as the foundation to how it will work. You weren't brash or irksome at all, thanks for taking the time to ask questions and even read my initial post, Taraninja16 Taraninja16

As for your last question, there are a few shared traditional beliefs. Religions still exist. People for the most part do not want government interfering with their day-to-day lives or overseeing business operations. Politics do not work the same on Erabus as they do in any particular country on Earth. The spearhead of the planet is a collection of four people with all different job descriptions, chosen by the people every half-decade. It's a mixture between democracy and socialism, where there are some things - such as universal healthcare - that clashes with the nature of a class system altogether. However, people were responsible for creating the political sphere of the world hundreds of years ago. It's just been unchanged up until now. That's as deep as I can go for the time being.

If anyone else has anything for me, please feel free to ask. Hope to see some CS' soon so we can get rolling. OOC is done through discord, you can find the link on the OOC page linked in my initial post. Like I said, I already have three people who can and will post at any time. They are good. Just need RPN to meet me halfway with even just two people, and we're good to go.

I'm willing to join up. Based on what u have put and the explanations uve given, I think this rp is a safe bet.

Oh so I guess I have a question of my own m8. Our characters are old enough to be in the military. I would assume there IS a military but what you be opposed to having someone from there?

Erabus CS

I can tell you there's a few of us waiting for others to make CS' before we go. I'm definitely waiting, because I want others to be able to pick their artifact first. With you two, we're good to start ASAP. So once the CS' roll in and the discord has you guys on it, we can begin.

I'm not closing this out to others, we can always add in more as time goes on. I'm totally cool with you deciding your character is from the military; I hope to see various types of characters from various lifestyles coming together, rather than six of the same with different genders. Erabus does have it's own military, we can discuss this on discord.

I potentially need another member or two for this RP. it's still in it's beginning stages so people can definitely hop in. Please send me a PM if you're interested. Thanks
