Brief History:

The first known habitation of Oyashima was win 30,000 BC by prehistoric human kind. The first recorded history of Oyashima was around 300 BC, when the Yamatai people from the island of Zuiho began to immigrate onto the mainland of Usea. Buddhism was introduced from the orient-east, and grew in popularity due to the ruling class promoting the religion through the lands. Between 592 - 710, was the period of small self-governing city states which ruled the Oyashiman territories. The Yama period. 710 - 784 marked the beginning of a centralized Oyashiman state under the Ayato clan.

The Feudal era, which began in 1133 - 1824 was dominated by the samurai ruling class. It was a bloody time of warring samurai clans which tore the country apart for a period of time before the mid 16th century, when the country was unified by the previously overthrown Emperor. First contact with the west was in 1573 when missionaries arrived with knowledge and goods, enabling the first exposure of cultural exchange between Oyashima and the rest of the world. This was the start of the study of western sciences, mathematics, astronomy, and slowly, by 1831, the Oyashiman Empire sent out an envoy to forge a treaty which would allow the Oyashiman Empire to industrialize.

In the year 1847, ships from the west forced the opening of Oyashima to the outside world, under the Katanomi Treaty. Oyashima began adopting western political, judicial, and military institutions and rule of law. The Shonan council was reorganized into the Imperial Cabinet, and the country drafted a new constitution.

Oyashima would become the first industrialized nation in east. Their industrial and trade outputs elevating the country to the same status as the western world, and became one of the fastest industrializing countries. By 1865, the Oyashiman Empire began it's conquest throughout the region, colonizing various uninhabited islands within it's territory, now accessible because of industrialization, and expanded northwards, colonizing the once inaccessible northern plains beyond the central mountain range, as well as annexing the tiny country of Goryeo, placing it under colonial rule, renaming it's islands Myoko, Kobe, Unryu, and Kashii, along with renaming it's capital Kikokami.

The nation has also expanded northwards, annexing the uninhabited central plains before their northern neighbors can lay claim.

The Oyashiman Empire is currently the only industrialized power in the far east and seeks to be recognized as an equal from the western world. They hope that they can help shape and influence the world and not suffer under discrimination.

Military:

In order to protect it's islands, the Oyashiman Military spends great amounts of money and resources to building a powerful naval force. It's ground forces were heavily trained by foreign contingents during the empire's early days of industrialization, and have continued to receive aid from multiple countries for training, all the while formulating their own training program for the empire's soldiers. The empire's soldiers are fearless, disciplined, devote, and loyal men. The Oyashiman samurai traditions influence each soldier heavily. They will lay their lives down for their country, and Emperor.

Fato proper

Military:

The Grand Army of the Republic which has stood in service to Fato since 1788 is one of the best equipped, well trained and deadliest military forces in the world. With the industrialization of the country following the end of the first empire 1805-1823, Fato is capable of building large naval fleets and keeping its military well fed and supplied in prolonged conflicts. While not invincible, the Grand Army has few rivals, and the task of invading Fato has been a bloody if not costly act in the past.
