The gods of Shala were ancient, powerful, and worshipped beings who ruled over humans with a benevolent hand since the beginning of time itself. The created Shala and the people who were to inhabit and make it their home. They watched as the humans built their civilizations and grew, started wars, and invented. Since they couldn't appear in the mortal realm often, they each chose a human to imbue some of their powers and knowledge into so that these people could carry out their will and keep peace. These humans became known as the Priests.
Priests soon became extensions of the gods they worshipped and were trusted almost as companions. They married and had children and upon the gods requests, their eldest child was to study at the temple on Huko mountain until their Priest parent died and took their place.
There was peace for many years, but soon the system became corrupt and soon spelled out the end of that. Her name was Jaia, a descendent of the first Moon Goddess Priest. As the eldest she was taken to the temple but soon found disrest and anger instead of enlightenment and joy at her predicament. Why should she have to devote her whole life to the gods? Perhaps it should be the other way.
While she spent her days following along with her teachings, the night was spent roaming the temple library, delving deep into any topic she could about magic. No human had ever welded magic before, not even the priests who only had increased physical advancements. It took years of deciphering the ancient texts and phrases, learning rituals, and practicing. Finally, she would see her plan unfold.
Her father soon passed and Jaia was Ascended to Priesthood. No one suspected anything, even when the Moon Goddess started to fall ill, something unknown to gods. Soon the goddess couldn't even form in the mortal realm and was confined to the godly realm as nothing more than a shimmering light, her voice as faint and light as her body. The gods and their priests soon became consumed by worry as they tried to find anyway to bringing life back into the goddess.
It was Jaia's lover, Raphael, who noticed the hidden texts and plans and realized Jaia was draining the Goddess's power and what she was going to do with that power. He grabbed as many texts he could and gave them to the other priests who then spent the next few days trying to learn as much as they could without alerting Jaia. Even if the gods banded together, they wouldn't be able to harm Jaia due to the pact the gods made that they would never harm humans or they'd fade out of existence. The priests didn't have enough magical prowess to defeat Jaia, but they had to try. First, they needed to ensure their gods would be safe even if they failed. With all of their power they created a new realm protected by as many charms as they could create for the gods to hide that Jaia wouldn't be able to find. They sealed it off and prepared to confront Jaia.

It was the most fearsome battle in the history of the land. The very earth seemed to shake with each blast. Tress splintered, mountains rumbled, and ocean waves grew to tremendous heights. When the priests realized they would be done for, they fell back on their final plan. The priest of Death used her magic to create corpses to themselves in order to fake their deaths in the heat of battle. They watched as Jaia stood over the corpses and smiled before aiming a potent Incinerate Spell at the corpses and blasted the bodies into oblivion. This was her kingdom now...but they'd get it back one day.

The priests had to go into hiding and blend into regular human society. They hid all of the texts about magic and all the history of the gods they managed to salvage in a secret place only known to them. They all vowed to pass down their knowledge to their children as their parents did before them and bide their time until there was an opportunity to defeat Jaia. Then they would open the doors to the realm and the gods would once again rule.

However, over time the gods began to lose their memories and forget who they were. The realm was meant to replicate the kingdom and soon the gods thought they were the fake humans in the realm. They started to believe they were humans and settled into mortal forms and lived mundane lives. The priests would be in for a hell of an adventure...and hopefully it wouldn't spell the end.

So basically our characters will be Gods and the priests (save the moon goddess since she’s barely alive) who will attempt to take back the kingdom alongside their gods who will be relearning who they are at the same time. It’ll be a lot of character development so keep that in mind. I’ll be depending on people who can actually stay in the rp and stay active since one character going missing can effect the rp. The rp will start with the current priests gathering for the opening of the realm where the gods reside. Any questions can be asked and I’ll answer em!
