  The year is 2003. It's the ripe summer here in the town of Wellspring, a once quaint little town in the middle of Oregon. There was a time the town of 16,066 was known for its lush forests and amazing camping areas but now, all news seems to circulate on the gruesome murders of their local serial killer. The Blockbuster Ripper. An unknown serial killer who has been ending and defacing their victims in the same fashion of classic horror film victims. The town has been in disarray with kids being put under strict curfews and the local police following tracts of dead ends. The hell and despair of Wellspring don't seem to have a nearing resolution any time soon.
  
  That is until the most recent victim.
  
  Jared Fritz was found dead on a ketchup-stained table in the Wellspring mall's food court. A local druggie, police would have probably ruled it as a pothead's accident while closing up shop if it weren't for the jack-in-the-box that burst out of his chest shortly after the body's discovery. The jack-in-the-box doll wasn't just an ordinary doll too, the head seemed to have been replaced with a crafted replica of the chestburster from Alien (1979). Another fallen victim of the ripper, but a death not in vain as the police discovered only a handful of suspects who could have killed Jared Fritz. All young uni students who worked part-time in the mall who seemed to have closed with Jared and the other six victims.

  Everyone loved Blair Mullins. Or at least they did during the heat of high school, when homecoming queen was as good as being an actual living monarch. Her popularity simmered down to a fizzle when half of the student body moved out of town or simply forgot about her at St. Gertrude's. At least no one at that aged school will ever forget her know as she was found in the girl's shower room.   It was expected for Joshua's fate to be dead in a ditch in the woods, but no one could've expected it to be because of a serial killer. He was a bad seed, often found on the shady ends of town doing god knows what. Police were almost relieved knowing he'd be off the streets if it weren't for the grizzly state they found him in.   An angry cop who spent most of the time shouting at rookies than doing his job, Officer Hudson wasn't the best boy in blue. There are still debates on whether or not he truly fell victim to the Ripper as there had been no connection between his cause of death and a horror flick.   A stoner who had little to no prospects going for him, just a 20-something-year-old, borderline dropout, who worked at a sleazy shop at the wellspring mall. His uncle whose couch he crashed on didn’t even notice he didn’t come home the night his life was taken by the Ripper, only discovering Jared’s fate when the cops showed up at his home. Back when there was air in his longs and color to his lips, uni and work friends would describe him to be laid back and easygoing, just a man who lived his life slow and at his own pace.
