The piece of paper lay in Daniel's palm. Ah... He accidentally took her phone number... not her table number... "Robin" huh? It was a pretty name.

She asked him a question as she began drinking her tea. "Actually, yeah" he responded. "Seattle University, not too far from here. What about you?"

He couldn't help himself from smiling. "You know when I asked for your number, I meant your table number, right?" A sly wink followed his question. "Though I'm happy to accept a tip".

Activity: Going for a walk

Objective: Enjoy his afternoon

Two men, one of them being Alejandro, sat down in front of a small store, having just walked out from it, "Do you even like beer?" Alejandro's friend had asked, as Alejandro grabbed the can and opened it, gulping it down as if he hadn't drunk anything all so far. "It's not a go to, but it can be refreshing when cold." He responded, before drinking the rest of it. "Besides, it's not like we're on the clock or anything. I've been working nonstop and if I really wanna go day drinking, I deserve it." He added as he cheeks flushed a soft pink. He was a total lightweight, but good thing it was only just a beer. If it had been something stronger, he'd have already been drunk. Looking around for a trashcan, Alejandro asked his friend, "You know what I mean, right? They work us to death. Sure there's a lot of cash in working the longer shifts, but still." As Alejandro finished talking, he found a trashcan, taking the shot and making it. His friend then took a seat next to him, chuckling a little as he did so. "Yeah, you're right. I do have my family to get home too, so I can't do any major day drinking. If you want a night drink though, I'm just the guy." And with that, they both laughed, before Alejandro reached out his hand, asking for another beer. "Nope. You're a complete lightweight, and that girlfriend of yours might not tolerate you coming home drunk. That being said, I'll hold on to these." His coworker said, shaking his head before the two continued their conversation.

After sitting talking for a few extra minutes the two split. Alejandro hadn't taken into account what Astrid would think of him being drunk so early in the day. Even if they didn't actually stay together, he did speak to her on a daily basis, and they would often meet up. Walking the street, now alone, Alejandro began to wonder what she was even up to. Both of them are inquisitors, so maybe she was doing something for the Roundtable. shaking his head, he sighed and continued to focus on what was in front of him. It was a nice day, and so far, there wasn't anything happening. He had the day off from his job as a park ranger, and the Roundtable hasn't contacted him about any empowered or supernatural going berserk in the city. Kicking a small pebble as he walked the broken sidewalk, he sighed. Today was necessarily boring, but for it to be one that was even more enjoyable, he was hoping something would happen. Any day, no matter how nice could be even better in his opinion, and while he was up for a little mischief or getting on Astrid's nerves, it wasn't planned, so it wasn't going to happen.

She had gotten the call last night. It was another damn mage gone out of control again. Something something necromancy or whatever. Too many warnings, not enough listening, and now it was time to take action. Astrid didn't really pay too much attention to the details, all she really cared about was that a call like this meant it was time for her to do her job. Her job, being an Inquisitor for the Roundtable themselves, meant being the ones to either take in or take down those who would go against the laws of the world. There was a big list that bored her to death, the things you could or couldn't do. At least that's the way Astrid saw it. In the end, all that mattered was that she did her job, and did it well. They don't make just anyone an Inquisitor, and she'd be damned if she didn't do it right. Her powers were perfectly suited for a job like this, and what with the Weapons Cascade artifact being one with her body and whatnot, it was a convenient way to keep tabs on it as well as probably studying it. All that behind-the-scenes stuff didn't really interest her anyways. What did, though, was the targets of her job.

Astrid had been given some coordinates and a description of just who this lawbreaker was. From the info she was given, she figured it wouldn't be so easy to just talk things out. She wasn't really much for talking anyways. That next morning she had made her way to where the target was said to be, kicked down the front door (who has time for stealth anyways?)... and before she knew it Astrid found herself in her current situation. Having been knocked down on the floor, facing her target, who also seemed to have seen better days. "Well, this could have gone better." She groaned, wiping some blood off her lip. It looked like the lady was about to make a move when in one quick motion Astrid had taken out a pistol hidden in her ponytail. She just as easily could have summoned it from Cascade, but she felt more at ease when she physically had her weapons on her. Her bright red hair fell about her shoulders as she pointed the pistol at the target. Panicking now, her target sprung up and sprinted toward her lab, a room that held the source of her unlawful magic. Astrid furrowed her brow, almost sighing in annoyance. "I just knocked you out of there so you couldn't sic your weird-ass creatures on me!" she yelled, shooting a bullet at the frame of the door to stop her from going in. This gave Astrid enough time to somehow pull herself off the ground, mustering strength to stand as imposing as she could. The target whipped her head toward Astrid, looking like a cornered rat. "It's not fair that my magic is illegal while there's plenty of other kinds of magic that are legal and far more dangerous! It's not fair!" she cried, making a break for her magic. Astrid pulled the trigger, sending a bullet straight through the heart of her target. They crumpled to the floor, a pool of blood slowly forming underneath her. "Yeah, well life isn't fair, and you knew the law and decided to break it." Astrid answered, her voice far more stoic than it had been the entire takedown.

This was always the hardest part of the job. Dealing with the aftermath. It wasn't so much that she killed people, but it always seemed like her targets tried to reason with her as to why they did what they did. If she was honest, a lot of what they said made sense. But it didn't matter. Laws are laws, and her job was to punish those who broke them. Astrid walked over to the body, confirmed that her target was dead, and called a number on her phone to let them know the job was done. With that, Astrid stepped into the lab and picked up her sniper rifle, which had been knocked out of her hands during the first part of the scuffle. She scoffed to herself as she cleaned some kind of weird substance off of it that had somehow gotten spilled on it. Maybe she needed to be a bit more careful not to let that kind of thing happen again. Being reckless made the fight last longer than it should have, and it was kind of a messy takedown. But, the job was done, and that's what mattered. Once her rifle was clean, she replaced the pistol and the ponytail on top of her head, making sure it was just as tight and snug as it was before.

the-power-of-the-king-143699032448gkn.gif

Now that she was finished, it was time to head back toward home. Home meant an apartment in Central Seattle, in easy access to every place she might need to go for her Inquisitor jobs. Dusting herself off, Astrid made her way out the same way she came, through the front door and toward the road. Her motorcycle was waiting hidden in some nearby trees just as she had left it, and she smiled as she hopped on. However, hopping on to the cycle made it apparent just how injured she had gotten in the fight. Cuts, scrapes, a few burns from the scuffle in the lab, and possibly a broken rib or two. She would be sore tomorrow for sure, but she was expecting that, with having a job like this. As she revved the engine, her expression changed to one of chagrin as she realized how Alejandro was going to chew her out for being so reckless. Again. Most often than not she would come back looking like she did now, and they weren't easy things to hide from someone like him. They met up on most days, usually when they were both between jobs, and they had been thinking of maybe meeting up for lunch or something today. She sighed, putting on an earpiece as she drove back toward downtown, wondering how she could phrase things without worrying him too much. She adored that side of him, but it did cause him to get mad at her more often than not. "Maybe we can just get takeout delivered or something? I'm sure he wouldn't mind." She spoke, trying to convince herself as she dialed Alejandro's number and waited for him to pick up.

Objective: Enjoy his afternoon, find out what Astrid is up to
It had been a decent deal of time that had passed since Alejandro had last had his drink with his friend. He eventually found himself within a park, not too far from his apartment which was convenient. Figuring that there was nothing else to do, and Astrid was still off taking care of some business for their bosses, he simply decided that some tv and a very unhealthy snack would be nice. It kind of sucked though, because he was expecting her to be back by today, but it seems it wasn't the case. As Alejandro made his way around the park, he came across a few familiar faces, as they were just some people who lived within the same building that he did.

Alejandro continued to walk, a bench coming into view as he did. It was actually placed in a nice little shady spot. There wasn't too much sun nor was there too much shade. The perfect amount. As he prepared to take a seat, his phone rang. It couldn't have been work, and that went for both jobs. Taking out his phone, he didn't bother looking at the caller ID, he just simply answered with an over exaggerated, "Helllloooooo!~" Though as he said this, his ears picked up on a certain sound. A familiar sound at that. It was the sound of a motorcycle. Dropping the happy act, his voice became more of a serious one, "Astrid? Is everything alright on that job?" He asked, genuinely worried about her safety. No matter who the Inquisitors are, these jobs were dangerous. The people they had to capture or kill were the biggest of threats, and they meant business, which is why there is no surprise when Alejandro immediately asks if she's okay. She probably knew that he was going to She was never around to notice that he couldn't even bring himself to smile when hearing her voice while she's away. It was his worry that took over, and that was how she showed his worry.

Just because she wasn't necessarily looking forward to Alejandro's lecture, there was a tiny part of Astrid that didn't want him to pick up. But she knew Alejandro, there was no way that he wouldn't. So hearing his voice, Astrid's face was a flurry of emotions, despite the fact that he couldn't see it. First disappointment, then happiness, then embarrassment. She almost laughed aloud at hearing his exaggerated 'hello', but she just knew what would be coming after. "Hey, hon." was all she was able to get out before she could audibly hear his voice change to a more worried tone like she thought he might. She took a moment to think of how to respond to this, wanting to hide the fact of how beat up she was feeling. "Yeah, everything is fine, I just finished up a job actually. Successful kill, they should be collecting the body soon, I think." At that moment, her cycle hit a small pothole, causing her and her bike to jolt unexpectedly. She managed to stifle the exclamation of pain as best she could, but she doubted that Alejandro wouldn't have heard at least some of it. She sighed, continuing to pretend like everything was fine. "It was kind of a long job, so maybe we could get food delivered or something? I'm starving, and we were thinking about getting food anyways, right?" She gave a small laugh, noticing that downtown Seattle was coming into view. "I should be at my place in no more than 15 minutes, so I'll see you there, okay? Bye!" With that, she cut off the communication abruptly, not wanting to hear the lecture she knew she was going to get. If she was gonna get one, she'd much rather be at home in person than on the road and on the phone. Before long she made it to her apartment, parking her bike in her spot and making her way inside. She flipped on the light and slumped on the couch, glad to be home. All she could do now was wait for Alejandro to get here. She had given him a key a while back, so he'd be able to get in.

All she felt was a hard slam into the side of her body, her teeth rattling as she fell to the ground, darkness encompassing her. Slowly, her body glowed, healing her jolted brain before she opened her eyes. “What the flip?” She muttered, looking up to see… some CREEP with a vial of something. Sera bolted up, scooting backwards on her hands and knees.

“What the flip is that?! When you hit someone with a car you are supposed to call 911 not drug them!” She most definitely believed the vial in his hand to be a drug and him to be a pervert. Seraphina stood up with a huff, dusting the dirt off her clothes. They, unlike her, were not immune to the weapons of man. “Ugh I am so calling the cops on you Mister. Just gunna hit a poor defenseless girl and then drug her? You’ve made some HORRIBLE life decisions that is so clear. What does that stuff even do?!”

Her hair wild around her face as her golden hazel eyes looked the man up and down. She puffed out her cheeks, looking up and then down, trying not to curse. Be good. Be good. “Sorry I stepped in front of your car.”

She muttered, the apology bitter in her mouth. But she knew if she were EVER going to be welcomed back into the Angel’s graces then she needed to acknowledge when she was at fault… and yelling on the phone and not looking before crossing WAS her fault… even if the IDIOT PERV was speeding.

“Yep!” She replied with a grin, slipping out a cat-themed wallet from her pocket to pay. It took her a moment to realise the terms of the order, but when she did her eyes moved back to his sharply. Huh, his expression said that he meant it.

Robin snorted silently in amusement, then held her hand out. In a second a small paper had appeared between her fingers and she set it on the counter. “Hm, don’t remember seeing that price on the menu, but I’ll give.” The girl found a pen and scribbled down her information before sliding it over with her money and a smile. “Don’t worry about the change.” She finished. Taking her tea when it was ready and making her way to the area with a few barstools, Robin leaned her elbow on the counter. Though it was meant to be a place to set down food, the spirit cat had made it her new perch, her ghostly paw moving to try to knock her owner’s beverage off the bar. It naturally didn’t work.

Robin’s attention was literally out the window, though it moved back to the other supernatural once he had finished with a few more customers. “So, go to school around here?” She questioned just as she brought the drink to her lips.

Hotei - ♠︎ - Cursed Dragon, Rock Shop Owner - Tags: Jaxton ( Wicked Jester Wicked Jester )

Hotei’s nose scrunched up upon feeling a raindrop on it, sitting up and glaring at the sky. His stare now challenged the sky itself. A soft hiss played from his gritted teeth when he felt another, eventually standing with a snort. The rain there was expected, but not welcomed, at least by the dragon.

He stood with his arms crossed across his chest, not taking the obvious way to avoid the weather and just go inside. The redhead waited until a few more raindrops fell on him when flame burst across his shoulders and heated the air around him, huffing out a disgusted sigh when he walked right back onto the sidewalk. Hotei tried to calm hismelf by fanning at the flames with his hand. Of course this wouldn’t improve his mood, but the sight of someone literally on Fire might not be good for his reputation. His clothing was still smoking when he glanced around at any possible witnesses. No one appeared to hav- ah shoot, there was a guy walking this way. Maybe he hadn’t seen the fire elemental’s tantrum. Accidentally making eye contact with the cafe owner, Hotei glanced down and turned to hurry into his own shop.
Walking down the street, Jaxton pulled out his phone and played around on it, checking twitter as he walked further down the street, he briefly glanced up to see a guy on fire. then seeing him seem to panic and wave out the fire, he raised an eyebrow. the guy was trying to act all secretive or embarrassed or something, but there really wasn't any need for it. In this crazy world with all kinds of supernatural beings and empowered living really on most streets and being public knowledge, there wasn't really any need to try to hide anything. Shrugging, Jaxton continued to walk further towards downtown seeing the guy walk into some kind of rock shop.

The timing wasn't right for being able to go to school again, but Kaori was just glad to be home again. She had only arrived home in the last, and her parents being the protective type hadn't really let her go explore on her own yet. Finally though, she was able to see Seattle again, and damn did it feel nice. She was still limited to certain areas due to still being in highschool, but it was better than nothing. Her favorite thing about being back in Seattle was just seeing how much of it had changed since she left four years ago. Of course she had the internet to keep her updated, but there was nothing like seeing the city with your own eyes. There were some things that had changed, but for the most part it was just as she remembered it. Well, as well as any 12-year-old could remember a place. All in all, it just felt so much like home. So much more than the recovery facility she had been stuck in. God it was so good to be out of there. Kaori would be forever grateful for them saving her life and getting her back to normal, but four years was a really long time for someone as young as her. Thankfully she had managed to make some friends while she was there, but they all seemed to come and go during her stay. So while it wasn't the worst, she would much rather be here. Home.

Eld
Looking down at the corpse who had suddenly started moving again, Eld blinked a couple times and stared for a few seconds. clearly, the spirit of the girl didn't realized she had just died, and possessed her body. it was rather sad when these things happened, and the most merciful thing he could do would be to put them out of their misery before their body started to decompose and they had to watch themselves fall apart bit by bit and live in the pungent shell of their once former self.

Thinking that to himself, Eld Stepped closer, and he raised the flask while making a motion to pour it on her, he said clearly "Not drugs. Poison. To dissolve bodies. The bodies of the undead should be disposed of before they begin to rot. you may not realize it however you're dead. You need to accept that and release the body so you can move on to whichever afterlife you follow." as he said this the black ooze become visible at the neck of the flask, ready to pour out on the body of the girl.

“Dead? I’m not dead!” She backed up, running to put his dented car between them. “Does it look like I’m dead you weirdo?! And I am from the afterlife okay, I know where it is, how it runs and even who is on shift to accept new souls today. Okay and Charlene isn’t my biggest fan so she sure as heck is not gunna let me through the doors.” Seraphina grumbled, thinking of that slightly short and slightly bug eyed looking angel who worked this time of day. No not all Angels were amazing beautiful creatures. Some of them were downright scary. And some of them… looked like Charlene.

“And why do you have that on you? Why do you just carry around poison to dissolve bodies?! Who just HAS THAT ON THEM?!” She huffed, before tilting her head. “The speed limit is also WAY low in a residential area than you were going… why wouldn’t you notice me? Or break? Or be going slower? And with poison… and you didn’t call the cops… oh my god are you some kind of murderer?!” Seraphina rubbed her temples, pretty sure she was safe from his black oozy poison with the car between them.

“I bet you are some kind of pervy little murderer who likes to kill young girls! Wooooow buddy. Not even I can help someone as SICK as that.” Seraphina shook out her hands, jumping from foot to foot like she was trying to get something off of her. “Ack. Soooo gross”

Alejandro sighed as he listened to Astrid. He knew it was wrong to not believe what someone you're supposed to trust says, but there was something about this that made him disregard that and believe that what she was telling him wasn't the truth. While he didn't normally do this, he knew of her reckless nature all too well. If he was being honest it was one of the reasons he had begun to fall for her in the first place. It was that trait of her's that brought out the looser side of him after all. When she asked if they could order something, he chuckled, "Yeah, sure. We can order something. I'll be over soon." Alejandro said as he heard Astrid say goodbye. Before he could muster another word, she hung up. Standing there with his phone to his ear, he had a pretty plain expression cross his face. Putting his phone in his pocket and walking away, he placed a hand against his cheek, "She could have at least talked to me while I made my way there..." Alejandro shrugged it off, moving a bit to his left so a jogger could get by him. With that, he continued on his way.

Knowing his way around the city, Alejandro didn't take long to make it to Astrid's place. It was at least about 25 minutes on foot, and seeing as how it was a nice day, he walked. Making his way to the door, Alejandro made his way inside. He knew a few of Astrid's neighbors due to his frequent visits. Once he was at Astrid's door, he took out the key she had made for him, which reminded him that he had to do the same for his place for her. Unlocking the door, Alejandro went inside. A refreshing sight it was to see her home. "Hey there. It's nice to see you again, stranger." He said, walking over to the couch, slumping down beside her. "Any idea on what you wanna order? I'm down for anything right now."

Activity: Conversing with the waitress

Objective: Enjoy the afternoon
Roman nodded as he slid the book across to her. As much as he felt that he'd enjoy it, he was in no rush to jump straight into it. That was something he had learned a while back, and it was most definitely in a hard way. It was almost as if he had no choice, as his training was one of the things that helped him learn that patience was the key to almost everything, even things as simple as answering a question. "Please do, I'd love to hear what you think about it. I've heard a lot of good things, but your opinion on it may be the deciding factor." He told her, his smile still taking form on his lips. It was nice that he had found someone his age with similar interest. She may be his first actual friend since Kaori and Masahi, and that made him happy... And that was all in such a short amount of time.

Roman had his hands on the cover of the book still, and once he removed them from the cover he placed them around his cup. As he did this, he heard Mal ask for his phone number, which caused him to tense up a little bit. He raised his hand, covering his mouth with it, hoping to cover his blush. "M-my hone number?" He responded, laughing nervously. That was a bit scary for him. Not in a bad way, but him knowing that she would have to call him someday. Without thinking, he took out his own phone, placing it down on the table and sliding it to her, "Y-Yeah. If you give me yours, I can know when you're calling me..." Roman said, his voice almost silent as he rubbed his head and looked away. He felt like one of those characters from an anime or something. Blushing and whatnot because a girl asked for his number, or in this case, someone was willing to even talk to him, and that someone being a cute girl in a cafe... Not like he was upset about it or anything, "A-And it isn't weird in anyway. Just two people sharing interest in something, right?"

She gratefully accepted the book once he slid it over to her, hesitant to look back up at him as she waited for his response to her earlier question. She was relieved when he agreed, sliding her phone across to him as he slid his. Picking it up, she entered her number and made sure to enter her name. Double checking and making sure her number was right she slid it back to him. "R-Right. Honestly it's been a while since I met someone who's also genuinely interested in books, I was worried I was being too forward." She admitted, her smile growing a bit shy.

Last time she was able to talk to someone interested in books as much as she was with her dad when her parents were still together. He was probably the main reason she loved books the way she does. He used to always read books to her before bed, and once she was old enough to read the bigger books they'd both have a copy of the same book that they'd read and talk about once they both finished. Her eyes grew soft as she recalled the good times. As fond as her memories with here father were, there was no way things could go back to the way they were. In the end she couldn't feel anything towards him but anger and betrayal, was she not good enough that he had to leave and start a new family? She mentally shook her head and focused on Roman again now that she realized she got too lost in thought there for a second. She immediately felt calmer once she focused on him again. She shouldn't spiral down that hole of what ifs, not when she had someone who she was enjoying spending time with right there. "Ah, sorry, I got distracted for a moment." She looked around to make sure she wasn't neglecting any customers. Seeing everyone was fine she turned back to him. "Have you read Brave New World yet? If not I really suggest it if you're into psychological stuff and science fiction."

Activity: Talk with Mal and enjoy his coffee

Objective: Enjoy his day

Roman raised an eyebrow as Mal's found slid towards him, almost at the same exact moment that his own went sliding over to her. Picking up her phone, Roman put his phone number in, along with his first and last name. It was just a cautionary move. Never know when you'll meet another Roman. Placing her phone down on the table, Roman slid it back, catching his just as it came sliding back towards him. As he caught it, he heard her voice, which caused him to almost immediately look up at her, as he had taken a look at her number when he got his phone back. When he saw what her name was, his mouth moved on its own, and he spoke her name, "Mal..." He whispered as quietly as he could. If he was being completely honest, he liked her name. It suits her. "It's been the same for me. I've only had two friends in my entire life that I considered real friends, so that being said, I don't think you're being pushy. In fact, if you see it that way... Then I'm glad you're being pushy. It's making for good conversation." Roman smiled a bit more, his eyes closing a bit as he chuckled. "Please, continue to push if it's helping you converse." He added.

After he had said that, and their conversation paused for a moment, in that time, Roman had noticed that Mal had seemed to be a bit happier than before. In the way, someone would feel when experiencing nostalgia or a newfound joy... Though soon after she seemed a bit tense. Roman had only noticed these things though, as it was a skill he picked up on from his mother. She had always been good at reading people, and she always told Roman the same thing when she had read him. She always told him he was lost. Not in a bad way, but in a way that he was unsure of who he really was. That there was a part of him that felt as if the life he was leading was a lie. That's when she'd tell him that when the time came, he would know who he was. Those words he would carry with him forever, or until he truly found his purpose and who he was. Having ended up lost in thought, Roman snapped back to reality, his eyes still fixated on the girl who sat in front of him. "No worries, I too was distracted," Roman said, his smile remaining as he looked at her. Mal would then be the one to continue their conversation when asking if he had ever heard of 'Brave New World'. Rubbing his chin in thought, Roman shook his head no. "If its a reccommendation from you, then it must be good. Say, what time does your shift end? Maybe you could come with me to the bookstore to see if they have a copy in stock." He suggested, taking another sip of his coffee. The warmth of it soothing his mind and body, helping him focus more on what was in front of him and not the thoughts of what his mother would tell him. Those were thoughts that would lead to questions, and those questions could only be answered by his father... Wherever he may be.

Mal took a quick glance over what he put in before locking her phone and laying it face down on the table. She looked back at him, eagerly waiting for his answer. Personally she had enjoyed the book, even if the book started off a bit slow at first once it picked up it was really interesting. People who lived in a so called perfect world, for some reason she found that funny. As hard as they tried everything fell apart in the end, really they should've known it wouldn't last forever. Good things never do, that she knew all too well. Just looking at the entire history of mankind it was easy to see. You can try and control everyone and make them happy, but it doesn't work out in the end. It really was an amazing book.

Mals attention shifted onto him when he responded, taking a moment to process what he said. Oh. Ohhh. She quickly glanced at the clock again, a bit more excited this time. He actually wanted her to come with him to get it? When was the last she'd actually hung out with someone other than her mom and brother? She couldn't wait for her shift to end now that she had something to look forward to. Last time she hung out with someone she could consider a friend was back in 6th grade when Mal was much happier with her life, nowadays she would rather drop dead then hang out with someone in her class. Roman, though, she wouldn't mind hanging out with him. It was weird to think about, she had just met him and yet she felt like more comfortable around him than kids she'd been around for a little less then a year. It made sense though, he hadn't tried to make fun of her or laugh at her unlike most of the kids she came across in that school. Mal turned back to him, a smile gracing her lips."I get off in a little less then an hour, I'd be happy to come with you to search for it. You could wait here if you wanted, or if you have something to do you can just come back later." She said, subconsciously holding the book up to her torso.

Robin - ♦︎ - Human Witch, Uni Student - Tags: Daniel Kim ( Yushin Yushin )

Robin nodded thoughtfully at the comment about his university. “Hm, well-expected school, I’d expect.” She took another sip. “C-MAE ‘s what we call it, though technically it’s the College of the Magic Arts and Engineering. It’s sorta locationless since it’s on another plane of existence, but there are plenty of gateways around.” The soft squint on her face made it seem impossible to know if she was kidding or not, but her words were confident.

That confidence nearly vanished when the guy grinned at her. “Wha-? But don’t... places usually give the customers table numbers?” She mumbled a few other bits under her breath and appeared a bit perplexed about it. Enough so that she even set her tea down on the counter. This only prompted Ghost to bat at it more energetically.

“Uhm, well, now you have my number anyway. If you see any cool pictures of cats then you know where to send em.” Robin laughed, playing with her hair in slight embarrassment. Her glance moved to the door to ensure that she could still talk to Daniel without interfering with business before it returned to his face. Was that a wink? The girl only rolled her eyes as a smile spread across her features. “Well, Daniel, is it?” -she nodded towards his name tag before continuing- “If you don’t mind my asking, what can of supernatural are you, exactly? Normally I’d guess kitsune, but I suppose that’s sort of an umbrella term.”

'Kitsune', she said. Daniel laughed.

"Normally I'd pretend to be offended, but I think I've flustered you enough." He threw another wink at the end.

"No, I'm a Gumiho. Sorta like Kitsune, but better. Don't let them know I said that though, I'd be in a lot of trouble."

Daniel sat down across from her, after making sure someone else was manning the counter. "Gumiho are sorta similar in the fact that we both have 9 tails and fox ears, except Gumiho carry around a small marble that's made entirely out of pure knowledge."|

He took out the marble from under his shirt, where it had been dangling on a necklace. "I had to study hard all throughout high school to make this sucker. It also has the ability to take and transfer human energy. We can use that to do something as simple as healing wounds and giving short bursts of energy, to reviving humans that are on the verge of death." He allowed a wry smile to form on his lips. "But, only with a deep kiss. That's sorta the reason I try not to use it unless I have to."

Daniel left out the part that if a human consumed the pearl, they'd be granted special powers. If the wrong human heard that, who knows what kind of trouble he'd be in.

Activity: Drinking coffee and talking with Mal

Objective: Enjoy his day, and find a copy of Brave New World.

Roman was still happy that Mal had accepted his offer for the book, mainly because she looked happy when she had taken it into her own possession. Having considered himself an outcast from everyone else and perfecting the art of anti-socialism, Roman didn't get to see many people see due to his actions. It was the first time in a long time someone had smiled thanks to his gestures. That made him genuinely happy. Maybe Mal would stick around with him and the two of them would become good friends over the years. They were already friends if you asked him. They ever exchanged numbers. Roman then thought of Masahi and Kaori, I've made a new friend... She's pretty great if you ask me. He thought, wishing he could have the two of them with him as they conversed. Having them meet Mal would be amazing to him, but unfortunately... It couldn't happen.

A nervous chuckle found its way out of Roman's mouth as he noticed Mal just catch on to what he had asked her. The way she responded made him a bit nervous, mainly because he began to feel as if he were holding her from the rest of her shift. Seeing how she only had less than an hour left, that brought him joy. "I can wait... I don't have much reason to leave. Also, the forecast did mention it was going to rain today and I don't want to have to walk back through it. I'd rather we go together, y'know?" Roman asked, pointing at his new umbrella. He then finished the last bit of his coffee that was left, placing the cup back on the table and gently sliding it towards the middle. "I think I'll have to ask for that again while it's still your special. Your French Kisses are pretty good, though this is the first one I ever had..." His voice beginning to trail off as he just realized what he said. "I mean the drink of course. I've never had a kiss, let alone a normal one!" He then panicked even more as he only ended up spouting more embarrassing information about himself. Laughing nervously once more, Roman turned to look away from Mal and towards the nearest window. "I must sound like a dweeb right now..." Roman managed to muster out, sighing as a result, a small smile still on his face. While it was embarrassing for him, it was still a bit funny.

"Not drugs. Poison. To dissolve bodies. The bodies of the undead should be disposed of before they begin to rot. You may not realize it however you're dead. You need to accept that and release the body so you can move on to whichever afterlife you follow," as the weirdo perv said this the black ooze become visible at the neck of the flask, ready to pour out onto Seraphina’s stunned self.

“Ack. Soooo gross”

codedbycrucialstar
Tilting his head almost imperceptibly, Eld sighed as he thought that this girl was either of her meds, actually undead, or by some small chance some form of spiritual being. Either way this was going to be one hell of a headache. Not really listening to her rant and rave, he tuned out about half of her statement as he mentally resigned himself to having to do this in a non violent way. Although she wasn't wrong in assuming he was a murderer, he had certainly killed before, gangsters weren't always the most efficient in that regard, sometimes were still breathing while they were melted, he was never bothered by any of it, and an extra bonus and the services of an anti diviner made him not really care one way or the other. Slowly shoving the flask back in his bag he finally responded to her.

"Not residential, semi industrial area. No people. You stepped into street. And cleaners have that on them."
Most cities didn't have any type of residential on the sides of a major Intercity highway, and being on his way out of the city, he certainly wasn't in a residential area. Perhaps she was just a bit disorientated from being got by the car. Along with that statement and being some form of cleaner, he hoped the matter would be at rest. With that he started to walk back towards his car, hearing a distant Siren heading off on the direction of his cleaned crime from earlier. Not that they would matter anyway.

Why exactly did Allen agree to come here again? He couldn't remember, but he knew it wasn't hard to convince him to go somewhere if someone was pushy enough so he couldn't blame anyone but himself. Even if he was surrounded by a couple friends, he couldn't brush aside his nervousness that he felt due to the few new faces. That was how he found himself seated near the edge of the table, sipping on his alcoholic beverage. He'd been nursing the same drink the entire time he was here, he only wanted a light buzz considering he still had to make his way back to the dorm himself. "Hey Al, have you seen Danny?" One of his friends piped in, his arm draped loosely across another boys shoulders. Allen took a glance around, expertly avoiding having to look at anyone for more than a second before turning back to his friend. "I think he left already, pretty sure he has work." He responded. "Huh. Well, thanks." And with that his buddy was gone to get more drinks, leaving Allen by himself with the new people who would occasionally direct part of the conversation towards him. He'd rather just listen.

His attention shifted when he saw someone approaching the table, thinking it was his friend and opening his mouth to say something. His gaze immediately shot back down to his drink and he pressed his lips together when he realized it was a completely different person, thankful one of the girls at the table had gotten the girls attention before he had. Noticing her take the empty seat next to him he listened as the conversation shifted back to normal. He jumped when he felt someone grab his shoulder and lean in, "You should talk to her, she's pretty cool." Allen turned and watched his friend walk away, giving him a wink and a thumbs up. huh? It didn't exactly surprise him, his friend had tried to make him branch out before, and he was usually good at choosing people he would find easier to talk to. Albeit nervous, Allen turned and looked at the girl. "Uhm, H-Hey." He cringed as his voiced cracked, his face visibly turning a light shade of pink. If I could just die now that'd be great, thanks.

Mood: Happy

Mal nodded along as Roman talked, his reasoning was perfectly understandable, she wouldn't want to walk in the rain more than she had to either.Even if she didn't mind the rain much, she was more into watching it outside her window then actually being in it. Having wet clothes sticking to you isn't exactly the best feeling in the world, especially trying to take them off. She got chills just thinking about it. Her hands almost instinctively reached for his cup as he slid it into the middle but paused her movements when she heard what he said. She knew what he meant, but it didn't stop the blush from dusting across her cheeks and the look of slight surprise she had for a few seconds. She quickly recomposed herself, laughing as he panicked and admitted he'd never had a kiss. Her laughter only grew as he seemed to panic more at what he admitted. She covered her mouth as her laughter died down. "Sorry that was just... oddly funny." She admitted, wiping at the corner of her eye as if she almost shed a tear from laughing.

"I don't know about dweeb, I'd say a dork suits you more." A smile still remained on her face as she said it. If anything, that was probably what got rid of any awkwardness they might have still had with each other. "It just recently became our special, so you still have some time before we change it up to something else. If it does get changed before you come back, I can guarantee that my other coffee is still just as good though, hopefully." She nodded as if that would confirm what she said even more. Her attention moved over to the door when she heard the bell. Darn. The smile faltered a bit, a bit disappointed that their time was cut short. "That probably means I should get back to work."

“Cleaners?” She took a step back as he walked towards her and the car… what he did laundry? Not likely… no no what was he referring too? Cleaner… ugh these sirens couldn’t let her think. Wait?! Sirens! Oh god… the goo that dissolved bodies… the creepiness… said he was a cleaner… sirens… this was one bad bad man.

Maybe… maybe he was bad enough! Maybe this was fate! She stepped out in front of his car because the Angel’s wanted her to SAVE his soul! Oh wow! This was destiny!

“Oh my god you’re horrible aren’t you!?” She grinned big and wide, running around the car to him, not minding that he was trying to kill her ten seconds ago.

“I’m gunna fix you! I bet this will FINALLY be the big enough good deed! I mean I’ve been stuck here for SOOOO long it just felt a little hopeless BUT I will never argue with fate. You are a bad guy huh? But if you’re not a murderer, just involved with them then you have a chance to be redeemed!!”

She smiled, the air around her glowing as her wings appeared in the call of a truly blessed mission. Her clothes changed into her heavenly white dress robes, the tattered fabric from before vanishing into the magic charged air. Purple beads and frills surrounded the white fabric, Seraphina's personal preference to the classic plain dress of her other Angel comrades. It would be hard to stare at the blonde young woman and think she was anything BUT an Angel.

“Anyways enough on that. I’m Seraphina and you are so lucky because you just hit and ran your new guardian Angel!” She booped his nose, his skin glowing there as she left her mark on him. Sure did she need to touch him? No… but she liked booping people’s noses. She laughed, tilting her head. “Sooo what’s your name?”

Oh this was going to be so much fun, Seraphina thought to herself.

Mood: Embarrassed / Happy

Activity: Waiting for Mal

Objective: Wait for Mal's shift to end, enjoy his day

There was a part of him that wanted to just immediately hop up and run away from the embarrassment that he was feeling after that, then there was the other part of him. It seemed rather comfortable having just blurted out what he said. Thinking of how these two different mindsets were affecting him, he was surprised to even consider that he wasn't as nervous as he truly thought he was. What made him think that way was how Mal responded to his stumble in words. He made her laugh when it happened too. That actually washed away any feeling of wanting to hide from her in that instant and instead replaced it was happiness. It wasn't every day that he made someone laugh and when he did it was usually due to the fact that he was even existing. A lot of people didn't think much of the kid who didn't talk much in school. They thought of him as an easy target too, but in reality, he wasn't. "Don't worry about it... The smile was apology enough." He said, laughing a bit himself.

As the two of them continued to conversate, Mal stated that dor suited him better than dweeb, and with another short laugh, Roman nodded his head in agreement. "Hm, you're right," Roman said as he pointed a finger at Mal. Placing his hand down next to his other on the table, he smiled as he listened to her talk. So the French Kiss had just become their special recently. "That gives me three good reasons to come here then. Make it known that you have a new regular." Roman said, smiling a bit more as the door opened and the bell rang. His smile faded as he turned to see a customer entering. He then looked back to Mal, watching as she prepared to leave and finish her job. "Take your time, I'll just be here reading articles and enjoying the view." This day had been turning out too well. In fact, it was one of the best days he's had in a while. He made a new friend and after that, they had planned to spend some time together. As he thought about how well things were going, he took out his phone and began searching around for a copy of the book Mal had reccomended to him not too long ago, waiting on her as he did so.

Location: Home (Apartment Complex, Seattle)

The rays of the sun had been visiting Viola’s bedroom occasionally throughout the moody Monday morning, and early afternoon. Casting its light through the small slit left open between the soft white curtains obstructing the view of the buildings across the street. People walking along the sidewalks, locals going about their day and tourists chattering amongst themselves. Snapping pictures of fairly mundane sights, just because they could. Cars, bicycles, the general ruckus of a big city. Yet, nothing loud enough to wake up Viola. Still in bed, clutching her pillow. Her bedroom being an oasis of peaceful silence in the desert of city sounds surrounding her apartment complex. The spell was broken, like her sleeping grace, once the bedside radio began acting up. It made an almost hellish sound as the already broken wiring attempted to get the speakers going. It was akin to nails scraping over a whiteboard, accompanied with the most violent paper scrunching ever heard.

After a few seconds the radio supposedly found a method to make the wiring function as the sounds were replaced with an enthusiastic voice informing about today’s weather. Simultaneously something came to life underneath the blankets. Sitting upright and moving the purple locks out of her face. Sputtering to prevent herself from inhaling her own hair as it clung to her lips. “’Mh’hello to you too, radio,” she muttered half awake, wiping the remnants of drool from the corners of her mouth, “weren’t you broken? Did someone come by to fix you?” A thought crossed her mind as she questioned her less than responsive radio. “Happen to tell them to fix the toaster too, or no?

A soft smile took over Viola’s sleepy expression. Amused by her one-sided conversation. “I’ll go see for myself, yes?” The girl leaned forward, gripping the handles belonging to the wheelchair standing at the side of the bed. Feeling the dented aluminum, the shape of a hand pressed into the handle. Result of an accident that occurred a few weeks ago. She’d gotten used to it by now and paid it no mind as she sat down in the chair. Pushing herself off in the direction of the kitchen. To fetch some breakfast, or lunch at this point, and maybe check if her toaster had started working again as well. That’d be interesting, and mildly creepy on second thought.

Despite having no real destination, nor a deadline to get there, Viola was outside within the hour. Dressed her best and stuffed with lunch she set out to break the habit of talking to her furniture. Instead she would find another living individual to chat with today. “If I were a sociable person with the free time to wander around Seattle at noon on a Monday, where would I be?” She muttered to herself while letting her eyes wander the streets, moving along the sidewalk at a moderate pace. Sadly, the only thing noticeable were the few mildly confused and or mildly concerned expressions meeting her gaze. Reminding her that talking to oneself was, and still is, an indoor activity. “He-hey, how’re you doing? Loving the-“ She asked one of the people casting their concerned gaze upon her, but before she could even finish her sentence the man walked along, “-scarf, right. Bye.

Calmly walking past the girl as she went on some crazy shpeel about saving his soul, Eld walked back to the car and calmly opened the door as the girls clothes shimmered and changed into some kind of fancy dress. Not really affected in any way by any of it, having seen far crazier things working for the gangs in Seattle. Still completely ignoring the girl even after the girl touched his nose in some strange fashion (if he had to comment, her finger was very soft), he sat in the car, shut the door in her face, buckled his seatbelt, started the engine of the car, and threw it into gear, driving down the street towards the other end of the street where he stopped at a stoplight, completely blowing her off and figuring that would be the end of this strangeness that had taken hold of his day. As he drove down the street, Eld's phone began to ring a symphony of electronic bells sounded quietly playing a cheerful digital tune. Checking the number, he saw it wasn't one he recognized, so he silenced the call and ignored it, continuing down the road.
(OOC: (Sorry for the short one, but I figure you can come up with something fun for this :P))

Robin - ♦︎ - Human Witch, Uni Student - Tags: Daniel Kim ( Yushin Yushin )

“I’m not flustered!” Robin remarked defiantly, clearly flustered. Her mouth was still grinning though, a clear sign that she had only said so for a comedic effect. She then actually put effort into staying quiet and listening.

At his comment she gave a snort snicker. “Of course, like how witches are clearly more talented than sorcerers or magicians... though I’m unsure if I even know any kitsunes to tell.” The girl moved so that she was sitting with her legs crossed on top of the stool, positioned like someone would be when sitting on the ground. Her arms were straightened out parallel to her body so she was now kind of imitating her cat’s sitting posture from behind the counter.

“Well, that marble certainly seems interesting. You get to name it or something?” She questioned softly. Her head was tilted to the side in curiosity for a moment before she leaned back and shrugged. “‘Suppose that’s a bit off topic, but the term marble of knowledge seems a bit like a mouthful.” Gumiho seemed more elusive than their Japanese counterparts and Robin was far more interested in them since finding out Daniel himself was one. As much as the young witch had bragged to others about knowing all kinds of magical creatures, her studies in technologies and magic were more centred in her mind.

When Daniel brought out the marble in question, Robin peered at it with slight doubt. It appeared almost like a normal marble, though perhaps a bit bigger. She arched an eyebrow upon further explanation of it, cutting in at the pause after the whole “human energy” thing. ”Hmm, try me.” The idea of human energy intrigued the magic-user; her own energy was stemmed from the mana in her veins- normal mortal energy must be from their nutrition though, from what she inferred. Who knew what a magic-user’s energy could be drained from? Ah, except if it drained more than expected it could be dangerous...

Her thought process was immediately shut down at the second addition. “Ah. No. No, never mind. I take that back.” Robin’s glance shifted embarrassingly around to the tables behind her, the tenseness leaving once she was sure no one had been eavesdropping. Finally she looked back to the Gumiho.

“Sheesh, and I thought my ability payoff was bad.” The dark-haired student laughed, half thinking Daniel was just pulling her leg at that point. The comment about her university appeared almost untrue, after all. Then again she had still not been lying. “So there’s nothing else you can do with it aside from... well, that?” There was an amused yet sympathetic expression on her face. “And are there really many situations you’d be forced to use that in?” She was serious with this question, truly wondering just how dangerous his life had been up to this point. If there were any amusing stories he was willing to share, then she wouldn’t technically be opposed to hearing those either.
