  • A disease burned through your body for six days. The plague spread through Pyreport like dragonfire, growing stronger with each life it claimed. And it claimed many...but not yours.

Lore Updates

  • Alderholm is the quaint but fertile half of a larger continent. The Alders cling desperately to their ancestor's beliefs and gods of agriculture. The rest of the world considers these Gods old-fashioned and obsolete, but at least they're “not as bad as those damn Woadlanders”

The Heathen Gods of the North

    A L D E R H O L T

    FLEURIEL

    m o t h e r o f m e r c y

Fleuriel is a living, ever blooming mass of flowers. Her radiance nourishes the earth and mends the wounded, or so the faithful say. They also believe each vine on her body represents the lifespan of a mortal. When one withers away and dies, a new vine grows in its place.

Domains: Animal, Earth, Healing, Plant, Weather

Subdomains: Feather, Fur, Resurrection, Growth, Seasons

Dogma: "Mortals are like flowers. Short lived, but beautiful."

Worshipers: Farmers. Druids. Mothers and midwives. The ill.

    Cleric Alignments: Any

    Favored Weapon: Wooden stake

    Symbol: St. Iseult's Wheel

Sacred Locations: Tilled earth, flower fields, and bodies of running water.

    SKARN

    t h e p u r i f i e r

Skarn's form is always in flux, but any shape he takes is unrelentingly majestic. His overwhelming heat forces Fleuriel's creations to adapt or die.

    Domains:Sun, Fire, Destruction, War, Strength

    Subdomains: Light, Ferocity, Resolve

Dogma: "Cull the weak and the herd will grow stronger."

    Worshipers: Shepherds. Leaders. Soldiers. Lords.

    Cleric Alignments: Any.

    Favored Weapon: Morningstar

    Symbol: St. Iseult's Wheel.

    Sacred Locations: Scorched earth, battlefields.

    E R Y E

    t h e h a r v e s t e r

Mortals would shun Erye and her terrifying visage if they had a choice. But every man and woman in Alderholt will meet her some day. Erye is a harvest goddess, but she's as likely to reap a mortal as she is to reap a crop. Leaves turn bloody red where she hunts. No mortal can outrun or outwit her by natural means.

    Domains: Plant, Death, Trickery

    Subdomains: Agriculture, Entropy*, Decay, Ambush

Dogma: "I am the twilight of all things."

Worshipers: Farmers. Hunters and Rangers. Particularly aggressive Warriors.

    Cleric Alignments: Any

    Favored Weapon: Sickle

    Symbol: St. Iseult's Wheel

Sacred Locations: Autumn forests. Decaying bridges. Overgrown fields.

    SOLST

    t h e g o d o f w i n t e r s i l e n c e

Solst is harmless (to the living), yet he his more reviled than Erye. Most assume he is a god of death, but the skeletal stag is only a caretaker for the departed. Solst is impassive and cold, but hardly the evil specter mortals imagine. He has little interest in mortal affairs but will stop at nothing to guide lost souls to their proper place in the afterlife. He shelters souls ravaged by mortal life, with or without their permission.

Domains: Repose, Ice, Liberation, Community, Time

    Subdomains: Souls, Home, Psychopomp, Loss*

Dogma: "I am respite from the long road. Wander no longer, for you are home."

Worshipers: The terminally ill. Philosophers and truth seekers. Ascetics. Exorcists.

    Cleric Alignments: Any

    Favored Weapon: Sap

    Symbol: St. Iseult's Wheel.

Sacred Locations: Winter forests. Frozen bodies of water. Anywhere the dead are interred.

    SAINT ISEULT

    t h e u n y i e l d i n g

They say Iseult was sturdier than steel and less likely to bend. Aldholt priests insist St. Iseult was human, and a legendary beauty... Both lies. Historical accounts confirm she was a dwarf, but the monarchy would have you believe otherwise.

Only dedicated scholars (and a few decrepit elves) remember the deeds that raised her to Sainthood. Common folk only know her as the woman who beat the Gods into submission and brought them to heel.

The Gods have been serving mortals (in their own way) ever since.

Domains: Law, Good, Glory, Strength, Cold Iron

Subdomains: Inevitable, Redemption, Honor, Loyalty, Resolve

Dogma: "This ends one of two ways. You'll see reason, or you'll see your innards."

Worshipers: Knights. Nobles. Guardians. Historians. Warriors...and everyone else.

    Cleric Alignments: Lawful

    Favored Weapon: Tower Shield

    Symbol: St. Iseult's Wheel

Sacred Locations: Anywhere she damnwell pleases.
