Nalia gasped for air after Faiglyn poured the healing water on her. Her body twisted and cracked as her bones were all put back into place. Once she was better, she took a second to look herself over. She felt... Alive.

Nightmare held back the agonizing screams they wished to let out. If the elf girl had poured any more water on Nalia, Nightmare was positive she would have burned them away in a terrible holy death.

Nalia felt around, hoping to find a seed or nut hiding in one of the crevices or pockets of her robes. The growing number of slime beasts only made her searching more frantic as everyone did what they could to either stall or kill the monsters. Nalia was fortunate enough to find an acorn just as she was pulled along by the elf girl. "Ahahaha!" She cheered, her eyes glowing a dark forest green as she poured magic into the seed. She held her hand out, and in seconds the acorn grew into a massive oak tree. Nalia controlled the growth of the wood and roots, putting an enormous circular obstacle onto the field. The trunk of her horizontal tree now rested between everyone and the slimes.

It would buy them some time since the horde of slimes looked to be endless, and Nightmare had no intention of almost dying again. And, it would buy some time for those who weren't stupid enough to think staying and fighting was a good idea.

There she was, standing atop the summit of a formation of obsidian, gazing upon the ashen horizon of the Strip of Despair. Somehow, in all her wanderings, she had wounded up here, where it all began. At least, that's what she thought. She can't quite remember anymore, how she even arrived in this place. Some days, it even felt as if she had been here for the entirety of her existence, but that can't be the case. With her eyes closed, she listened to the wind. Perhaps the ashen breeze will tell her where to go next.

The girl had been wandering, extending her aid to all those in need no matter who or what they were and fighting evil wherever they might be. She had a dream, you see, of a world filled with smiles, where everyone can live happily without suffering and sadness. Yes, that world included Wraevadar as well. Wasn't that why she joined that mission to begin with? So that even Wraevadar could be saved? Hm? Wait a minute... What mission was that again?

"How strange, the wind sounds like screams and cries today," she muttered, distracted from her thoughts by the 'wind', oblivious to the battle in the distance.

Though, her obliviousness wouldn't last as a giant oak tree suddenly sprung in existence from the horizon, not exactly a sight common in the lifeless Strip of Despair.

"Holy moly! A giant tree! Haven't seen those in a while, or ever, I do believe. Perhaps I'll be able to spot a town or two from atop."

With a leap, the young woman landed upon the ashen ground from the top of the obsidian spike. Ordinarily, such an act would have broken her legs, or at least twist an ankle or two, but without her being conscious of it, shadowy limbs had sprouted from her body and supported her fall, allowing for a soft, comfy landing.

"Well, no point dilly-dallying around here for long. It's about time I say farewell to this depressing landscape."

With that, Annaliese Fortis, the Crusader lost in Wraevadar, headed face-first into trouble.

“So this is Wraevadar? Kinda disappointed, I thought It’d be a bit more lively.” L’arc muttered to himself as surveyed the landscape of the surrounding area. He still didn’t understand what all the commotion was about the place. Why so many bounty hunters refuse to step into this land regardless of the pay he was giving.

There wasn't much to see, at least not at the outskirts. L’arc was tempted to just fly high above the land but decided against it, he didn’t how anyone would react if they were to see his other flying about. Suddenly, from afar he could see a large oak tree sprouting out of nowhere, certainly not a common sight. “Hmm maybe I’ll find some answers there.” The dragon shifter channelled, his dragonic might into his legs and leaped towards the gargantuan tree.

After a few jumps, L’arc finally landed on one of the branches of the massive tree. It provided him with a good vantage point of the surrounding area. What he saw from above was interesting to say the least, a couple of individuals fighting a horde of slimes. Now, normally, whenever he comes across a fight, he would usually side with the party that would benefit him the most. He is doubtful that the slimes could help in any way so he decided to side with the people, for now at least.

L’arc leap skywards, preparing a downward strike with his fist being the main point of impact. Seconds later, L’arc would land right in the middle of the slime horde with tremendous force, creating a large crater in the impact zone. Right after the main impact, a wave of flames was released from the epicentre strong enough to incinerate most lei. L’arc he hoped that this that supposedly so dangerous would have more to offer than just a slimes.

"Back off! Back off!" the elven woman yelled as an audible thunk was heard as her arrow hit the monster, and as Valentine quickly pieced together what was about to happen he was still there, stuck a whole arm's length into the monster. When the monster erupted into a million pieces Valentine was one of them, though thankfully he was still in one piece. The explosion knocked him a few feet back, knocking the wind right out of him as he rolled across the black ground. Valentine's arm, the one which was plunged into the monster was frosted as ice still clung to it but it moved around just fine. While a whole load of the hellish commotion was going on Valentine was too busy coughing and gasping for air, and he had partially lifted himself off of the ground before the skeleton from before came to his aid, jokes in tow.

This new skeletal ally managed to destroy the monster's core which was good, one down, and a hell of a lot more to go. Valentine was a little cautious as he got to his feet, eyeing the mace in the skeleton's hand though he figured if he was hostile then he would have already crushed Valentine's skull. "Aha, right," he replied, not knowing how to process a joke in a life and death situation like this, or maybe it wasn't like that for an undead creature. "But, thank you," he continued, trying to keep everything short as the elven girl beckoned everyone to run. And with chaos breaking out in the surrounding area it seemed like a perfect time to escape. With one last nod to the skeleton, Valentine ran towards the two girls as they made their escape.

The Knight's slashes had little to no effect on the beasts. There was nothing more for him to do here as he realized that everyone had already began to run, though in the heat of the moment, he did not hear or notice anything that was happening, and only focused on the enemy that was in front of him. However, out of the corner of his eye, he catches the sigh of a root slowly surrounded him, or was it seperating them from the beasts? It didn't matter. He looks back to see the girls running away, and in that moment the Slime swept his right leg, causing him to kneel down and the second attack that followed was only barely blocked with his raised gauntlet as it glances off his armor. Seeing as the mortals had decided to run, Quinn quickly hugged the floor, ducking underneath another attack from the black tendril, before scampering off in a full retreat, following the two as he kept pace behind them in case of any other surprises. "You know, it is customary to at least attempt to grab the attention of those fight with you when you decide to run!" He chastised them, looking back to see that a variety of people had seemingly showed out of nowhere to fight the monsters. A few had even decided to follow the group in their running away. This day was getting rather odd, but at least it broke the monotony.

She had ordered a retreat, but with a glance behind her, many of the strange people around were doing their best to stave off the attacking black-slime monster horde. They were attacking the monsters, despite her call to run. There was the strange demon-looking guy smashing them with a makeshift weapon. The strange skeleton being sent a horde of undead at the monsters, only for those pathetic undead to be smashed to bits quickly. Still, he seemed to not mind it, attacking the frozen one to further destroy it, even cracking a joke to accompany his accomplishment. Faiglyn couldn't help but furrow her brow at that. What was with that skeleton man?

The other woman seemed to not really mind the situation, giving her words no heed. She released a few shouts of bravado at the monsters and used a spell to constrict one, only to then kill it. Faiglyn could tell she was the combative type who relied more on brute strength rather than her head. To think out of the weird group here, the only other woman was the meathead. She winced when she saw the meathead woman get knocked on her ass and pinned beneath a beast. Well, what else did she expect from that display of hubris? Another powerful fighter seemed to join the fray. Their small gathering had grown exponentially. It seemed the commotion brought everyone far and wide from the Strip of Despair, as it seemed to be basically like a giant flame drawing moths to it.

"Um, I did, Steel man. I ordered a retreat." She shot back. Only to feel the surge of magical power from immediately beside her. Glancing down she saw the magic sprout from its origin as the girl she held onto began to use some sort of earth-based magic. Powerful it appeared. Powerful enough to grow a massive tree that circled around them to block off the horde of slimy Abominations. She could only gawk in awe at the impressive magic. Perplexed she glanced at the girl beside her. If she could do something like this, why did she need any aid at all? "Why did you need help if you could do this? Why are you getting so injured if you have such power?" Faiglyn questioned.

Though her question didn't have time to be answered. The black slime Abominations were raging and their ferocity didn't diminish, but only seem to grow. Even with the powerful fighters destroying one here or there, the horde was so great that it didn't seem to matter. The tree proved to be a good barrier... for a moment. The slimes raised up tendrils, then formed them into sharpened sickles and began hacking through the wood with surprising fury, strength, and speed. Smarter Abominations slithered over the top of the tree barrier and began descending down upon the group who were nestled within. Even more began bursting out of the ground at their feet, having dug from below.

It was that that proved to be a fatal mistake. The ground cracked and suddenly began breaking apart. Not even the Abominations seemed ready for this. As it literally fell away into a giant shaft. Glancing all around them this structure seemed massive.. and ancient. Literally a MASSIVE hole opened up, and this shaft was HUGE. As it was big enough to house large structures itself. The far walls were made with a strange blueish-silver brick like material that seemed to give off sorta a glow, since there was light in here, but no obvious light sources. Similar blueish-silver walkways extended between the walls and other structures that rose up out of the dark depths below. Speaking of, glancing straight down, the bottom was impossible to see.

The ground fell away, opening up and swallowing all of the group, which fell within. She was still holding onto the girl. There was a path that they passed. Faiglyn shoved the girl so she landed with a thud onto it. Then she pulled a fluffy blanket out of her pack and threw it onto another path beneath the skeleton man, to break his fall so his bones wouldn't smash as he hit it. Then she whipped out her bow. She shot a rope arrow. The arrow wrapped around the path that she had pushed the girl onto. And she swung on the rope, catching the strange male who had used the ice magic earlier.

Swinging she landed on the nearby pathway that the skeleton would land on. Her dexterity was impressive as the elf hadn't lost her balance one bit when landing with a heavier person bigger than herself. "Phew," she gasped, though, wiping sweat from her forehead. "You're heavier than you look," she said to him. "My name is Faiglyn," she said to the male, extending her hand to lift the man back to his feet after plopping hin onto the path. She was also telling the skeleton man nearby.

She had chosen to save these two because they seemed the ones most likely to suffer great damage falling down like this. Faiglyn figured somehow the others would save themselves. There were many strange walkways stretching every which way in here, kinda looking like a spider web. In fact, the Abominations themselves were raining down and hitting those paths. Their slimy bodies splattered. Black gunk dripping down from defeated monsters. Dripping into the blackness below. Even though Faiglyn had acted quickly, she and her rescued people were still quite a ways down in the shaft. The hole that had opened up and dropped them within was way above. Not even she could shoot a rope arrow up there.

She looked towards the path slightly higher that she had pushed the other girl on. She spread out her arms. "Here. Jump to me. I'll catch you." She wasn't sure how old this other girl was, but for some reason she felt like a "younger sister" type to Faiglyn. If that wasn't really the case, well, then the elf didn't realize that. Faiglyn wasn't big by any means, so she and the other girl were pretty much the same size, so it was kinda odd, but anyway.

Their retreat was cut short as the monsters began to cut and destroy their way through whatever and whoever was in between them. Valentine stopped in his tracks, understanding that he wasn't going to outrun these abominations. Spinning around on his heel Valentine faced the monsters, flame erupted from his hand he wasn't expecting to kill all of them hopefully he could at least blast a few away and give time for the others to escape. It could have been a stroke of luck but when the monsters descended on them the ground gave away. Falling like everyone the fireball charging in his hand was extinguished as Valentine plummeted into the pit. It took a second for Valentine to process that he was falling and all Valentine could do was watch as the light in the opening became smaller and smaller with the occasional pathway flying past him.

Valentine began to think of a way to save himself, but with something crashing into his body from the side, completely saving him from the verticle drop. When he came to he was in the arms of the elven woman, and despite their size difference, she was able to land on one of the pathways while carrying Valentine. She then commented on his weight which Valentine couldn't tell if it was a joke or an insult, but he took it as a joke. And after helping him up she introduced herself as Faighlyn, "Valentine," he replied as she pulled him up to his feet, "A pleasure to meet you," He finished politely.

"No one has an unlimited amount of ma-" Before Nalia could respond, the ground cracked open, and everyone fell into what essentially amounted to a glorified chasm.

'Shit.' Was all Nightmare could think of before the falling began.

Faiglyn's reflexes were insane, as she had been able to push Nalia to the side, toss a blanket out for the skeleton, then notch an arrow and fire it off to swing herself to catch another to get them both to safety. Nalia's fall was bad, but not so bad that Nightmare would have to act wounded again. Nalia got to her feet before staring at Faiglyn. Witnessing such speed and precision was unlike anything she had seen in her life. Feelings arose in Nalia that she wasn't sure she had the words to describe.

Nalia snapped back to reality mom's spaghetti when Faiglyn held her arms out to her. Nalia cleared her throat and nodded, "y-yeah. Um..." She found her footing before leaping forward, reaching out and falling into Faiglyn's arms. Nalia was surprised at how light she was. For a human girl, Nalia didn't weigh as much as Nightmare thought. She looked up and around, "where the heck are we?" Being this far from the surface was not good at all. At least up there, she could find a plant or a leaf or something. There was also that massive tree she could use. But down here, Nalia would have to eat up more of her magic than usual if they ran into more trouble.

Nightmare was almost to the point of ditching this body and simply booking it to the border. They'd find a squirrel or a bird or even a damn blade of grass. Anything was better than this shit show they had to be a part of since their conception.

Gion

Gion was running for his lifeunlife while dodging tendrils and laighed at it qhen suddenly the ground cracked and they all fell into a massive sinkhole. Gion could see the dull light of the surface becoming further away and his first though was: The guitar! He couldn't afford to lose it, there's tons of bones in Wraevadar but only one guitar. So he lifted his guitar and put it above him, intending to let his skeleton break the fall as long as he could protect the instrument.

Fortunately the fall wasn't as harsh as he thought it would be. His frames hit the ground, yes, but the padding provided by his jacket and Faiglyn's blanket gave him enough cushion to prevent him from becoming a pile of scattered bones. The best of all, his guitar was safe! Gion immediately stood up and did a little dance to express his joy.

"Thank you for the cushion, ma'am." Gion expressed his gratitude at Faiglyin, then introduced himself at the group excitedly. "Name's Gion. Gion Stickman, the handsomest skeleton in Wraevadar. Nice to meet you all! Never been in this big of a group before. Seems like we fell into a buried ruins but don't worry, we will get back to the surface in no time! Just need a few weeks or months to look for a safe way up!"

It was a day most peculiar in the Strip of Despair. First, a giant tree popped up out of nowhere. Then, a big hole just up and appeared all of the sudden. For the usually lifeless Strip of Despair to be so lively, could this be an omen of things to come? Annaliese could feel it beneath her skin, a tingling from what remained of the ancient instinct within her. The world was turning, changing. For better? For worse? She did not know. Heck, she probably won't even remember it.

As the ash settled, Annaliese peeked into the massive chasm and to her surprise, what she beheld was not a black abyss, but an intricate web of walkways, glowing in silvery blue. It was quite a scenery, one that she wished to say she won't soon forget, but as misfortune has it, the image won't stick with her for long. Squinting her eyes, she then spotted figures that seemed to have fallen in, figures of people, as far as she could tell. Some could be seen moving, so it was not as if they've fallen and died. Still, there might be those that were injured and needed help.

Annaliese took a few steps back, and with a running start, leaped into the chasm with abandon. After all, what kind of Crusader would she be, if she ignored the plight of others? not a very good one, that's for sure. Not to mention, Annaliese couldn't quite remember what she was capable of surviving. As far as falling was concerned, she had fallen from a variety of heights before and had survived all of them. As such, she didn't think leaping from any height was that big a deal.

As she fell, dark, shadowy limbs, emerged from her body and latched onto the walkways nearby. They eventually formed some kind of safety net that gradually slowed her descent and allowed her to safely land her feet onto one of the lower walkways. As it so happened, it was the same walkway an elven woman ( Thalia_Neko Thalia_Neko ) had landed on.

"Salutations!" Annaliese greeted as she approached. "Is there anyone who requires assistance? Anyone injured? Though it's not much, I do know some healing magic."

She nodded to the male. "A pleasure, likewise." She hoped anyway. In truth, she was still wary of these people. She had been told no one could live in Wraevadar, a land of caustic disease and death. A miasma of corruption and filth. Yet, here they were. People of all shapes and sizes. Her head was still reeling about it. She wasn't yet sure what to think about it all. For now, she'd play nice, but if any of them turned out to be nefarious monsters in disguise...

Was that a thing? Could they be? She assumed so, but had no way of knowing.

To Faiglyn, this was nothing more than any Dryar should be able to handle. Though even if that were true, Faiglyn was always a bit modest about her own abilities. It was of her infallible traits, that some liked about her, and some loathed about the girl. Regardless, Faiglyn believed this is the extent of what a Dryar should be able to accomplish, if they couldn't, well.. Then they were, perhaps, a failed Dryar in her eyes.

Faiglyn caught the girl, and was also surprised at how light she was, before setting her down. Though there was still a minor bump between their bodies at the force of clashing together due to gravity. "I am also wondering that. Where we are?" the elf woman voiced.

It was the strange skeleton's turn to speak up. Another of her rescues. Her face furrowed. A few months? She didn't believe they had that kind of time. Was there food down here? Water?

"It wont take that long," she wryly replied to the skeleton, giving him a look when he claimed to be named "Stickman". Was that a joke? "Being a skeleton, you must lack common sensibilities. Most life require food and water. Just a quick glance around, and I don't see any around here. How do you expect us to survive down here without such?" Her eyes glanced between them. Valentine. Gion. "Speaking of which, I was led to believe that Wraevadar couldn't sustain life, so just who are all you people?"

Even as she was confronting the others, her well-trained eyes locked onto another person descending. A woman who had strange black tendrils shoot out of her to grapple for her. Oh yeah, that was some clear corruption. But more than that, it was what she was wearing. Crusader garb! So someone had managed to track her after all!! A Holy Chosen? No.. she didn't look it.. Then who?

"You! Stop!" Faiglyn growled, immediately pulling out her bow, now pointing an arrow straight at the woman. Healing magic? This person was asking if they needed help? Maybe.. just maybe.. she didn't know who Faiglyn was? And wasn't after her? Or it could be a total ruse! Used to trick her! Lull her into a false sense of security then -BAM! I won't fall for that!

Faiglyn narrowed her eyes. "You, Crusader, why are you here? Where did you come from? Who are you. I want answers before I lower my bow!"

Gion

"Hmm? Common sensibilities?" Gion tilted his skull in confusion at Faeglyn's words but didn't seems to think too deeply about it and laugh it of.

"Don't worry about it, bow lady. I have experience in guiding humans before. Under my care some of them had reached a whooping three weeks of survivability!" Gion exclaimed proudly. If only he had a proper body he would be puffing his chest to the maximum right now.

"I will teach you how to survive later. For now- hey, look. A tendril lady!" While Faiglyn was aiming her arrow at Annaliese, Gion simply looks ecstatic at the arrival of another person and didn't find the shadow limbs weird at all. He waved at Annaliese.

"Hello, nice tendrils you have there."

Nalia caught sight of a girl falling from the very top of the hole to the walkway she was on. Tears welled in her eyes and she took a step forward, "Anna?" She asked, not sure if her eyes were deceiving her. "Anna! It really is you!" But Nalia's relief left her quickly, and her grin slowly turned into an expression of confusion. Nalia blinked a few times and looked around as if seeing everything and everyone for the first time. "Wait, what am I...? Who...? Oh... That's right..." She nodded as if figuring something out. "I think I died. But how did I wind up here?" She looked at her own hands and arms, then Annaliese, then around.

'What the hell? What is going on? I'm not saying anything! Stop it!' Nightmare felt like a passenger, not having full control over Nalia anymore. Was Nalia alive? She couldn't be. Nightmare snuffed her out when they possessed her. At that moment they remembered the healing waters the elf girl gave to them, and panic began to set in. 'That damn elf bitch... There's no way she brought the brat back from the brink of oblivion!' Nightmare seethed at the idea. If Nightmare were to be discovered then there was no doubt they would try to purge them from Nalia.

"Don't worry, she's a friend." Nalia reached over and put a hand on Faig's shoulder, "she was on the same mission as me. I think? My memory is a little fuzzy..."

Upon having a drawn bow pointed at her, Annaliese froze, both her body... and her mind. She didn't quite understand what was going on. Even though all she did was offer her help, the elven lady before seemed rather angry at her. Did she do something wrong? Did she say something she shouldn't have? Annaliese didn't think so. But then again, this was a foreign land, so perhaps the customs were different.

"Wh- Where did I come from?"

Why, wasn't it obvious? There was only one place she could have come from. Raising her hand heavensward, Annaliese prepared to give her answer.

"Above!" she said with confidence. Where else but above? She certainly didn't come from below.

Then, suddenly, she finally realized what she had done wrong. Of course, it was so obvious. She couldn't believe it had slipped her by. Thank the gods that the elven lady had asked her, other she might have thoroughly forgotten.

"The name's Annaliese by the way."

That's right, she had forgotten to introduce herself when she approached. That was bad manners, wasn't it? No wonder the elf lady was so mad.

From the side, there was a skeleton complementing her tendrils. She didn't get it, but she thought that she ought to return to compliment.

"Yeah! And you got some nice femurs yourself!" she said as she gave him a thumbs-up, her attention shifted completely away from the elf lady. If she were to fire her arrow now, chances were, it wouldn't miss.

Just as she was coming to realize how odd it would be for a skeleton to speak despite the clear lack of lungs and throat, Annaliese heard a voice that purged all of her random thought. The voice had called her name, 'Anna', a nickname. Surely, someone had called her 'Anna' before. Annaliese was quite a mouthful, after all. But this was different, the particular way the voice spoke her name conjured up a swirl of emotions within her, feelings of sadness, anger, pain, and despair threatened to overwhelm her.

Annaliese turned towards her voice, looking at the small girl, her pointed hat swaying as she moved. It was somehow nostalgic, painfully so. Annaliese felt that she could burst into tears at any moment. Yet, the tears never came. All that remained was a sense of emptiness. Even with such overwhelming sorrow, such pain, it all led to nothing. And as the one claiming to be Annaliese questioned what she was even sad about in the first place only to have found nothing at all, her emotions settled.

"Now that we've gotten the introduction out of the way, shall I attend to the injured?" Annaliese said cheerily, as if the emotions she had just felt were but a lie.

Perhaps it was the soul thirst that made his mind as dull as his movements, but Quinn did not even register the ground giving way until the second after it had broken underneath his metal feet. He fell into the dark, landing with a force that should have kicked the wind out of his lungs, if he had any. Instead, he simply landed onto the ground, making a hollow thud as his body touched the underearth. The man lets out a troubled, and tired sigh, standing to his feet more concerned then angry. He could barely fight, could barely face a monster without being thrown around and smacked like a training dummy. How would he be able to get out of a bloody hole in the gods forsaken ground? While everyone was starting to gather their bearings, Quinn felt the need to sit down and recollect his thoughts after such a disorientating fall. He notices the others were started to stir, and while things were getting heated, he didn't want to get involved, not until someone draws a weapon at the very least. He simply struck the sigil of mending and began to repair the various dents and cracks in his body, until someone did decide to draw a weapon.

The Elf, Faiglyn, had decided to raise her bow at the newcomer, the crusader. A Crusader of what, he didn't know, but he didn't know many things and Quinn was more focused on what he did know. He stood up, and stepped in between the two, the elf and the knight with his hand outstretched towards to elf as if to advise her to lower the bow. "I suggest you don't try to attack anyone here. I don't think you need much convincing of this fact, but there are a lot of monsters that lurk in the dark, and blood and battle is a very good way to attract them." He argues. "Trust me. I've been here longer then I assume most of you all had been alive, based on your looks. So I know what draws the monsters, and I know what they can do to a flesh and blood person very well." Quinn made his case, and hopefully Faiglyn would take it. He looks over his shoulder at Annaliese.

"Instead we should take Crusader Annaliese's offer of medical help, in case of any injures that anyone might have suffered." He then looks back at Faiglyn, Nalia, and the others. "I can patch up any minor damage to any weapons or armor, and the...strange bard skeleton man, claim he can teach you all how to survive here, and I assume you will need it more then him or I. Now I don't expect you, any of you, to trust me or anyone else here, but there is strength in numbers, but numbers don't mean much if everyone is suspecting everyone of treachery. So I suggest we have at least a temporary alliance for the time being, and if anyone wish to leave, then I will have no other words to say."

The skeleton spoke up, but anything he said simply made the elf irritated. Whatever that skeleton had in its head, it wasn't a brain. It certainly didn't understand a single thing about life, so she decided to wholly ignore any and all advice from it moving forward; that was the best way to survive, she decided.

Faiglyn heard the girl beside her call out to the crusader. Her name. Wait, did that mean the girl knew her? They knew each other? That immediately made her suspicious of the girl now, and she took a subtle step away. Whenever the girl spoke of dying, it sounded bizarre. But, well, there was a talking skeleton here, so Faiglyn decided it probably wasn't that bizarre. Whose to say what could be normal in Wraevadar?

She also claimed the crusader was "a friend", which seemed to mean that Faiglyn should trust her for whatever reason. But just because she was a friend to this girl's didn't mean she wasn't dangerous to Faiglyn. "Same mission? What do you mean? What mission?" She asked, with narrowed eyes. The girl hadn't seemed to recognize her in any way, so if the crusader was indeed from the same mission, then by happenstance, this crusader probably didn't know Faiglyn either, and was just here out of coincidence. But that didn't mean that Faiglyn should relax. The Church was still after her, so the moment they got near any Church authority and this crusader could be ordered to capture her. Which she would undoubtedly do without question, since she was a crusader. The girl didn't look like a crusader, though. So Faiglyn found herself wondering just what sort of "mission" these two were on.

Faiglyn deadpanned when she cheekily answered "above". "That's not what I meant," she retorted bluntly.

Her eyes flicked over to the skeleton. "Stop joking with the skeleton. He's weird and doesn't understand people. Don't encourage him."

The big iron man stepped up and tried to put himself between her bow and the crusader woman. Faiglyn eyed him, heard what he had to say, then rolled her eyes a little bit. She lowered her bow, then put it away altogether. "Can't be too careful," she murmured in her defense.

When the crusader asked to tend to the wounded, Faiglyn shrugged and waved towards the others. Like she needed the elf's permission to provide first aid to injured people.

The elf walked off to the side. She muttered as she passed the iron man, "My equipment's fine. Oh, and I wouldn't take anything that skeleton says worth a grain of salt. He's all bones. Not flesh and bone. He has no idea the interests or needs of the living. And if what you say is true, neither do you, tin man. Speaking of, how old are you, then? Elves can live a long time, how do you know I'm not aged myself?"

She stepped up to the edge of the path they were on. She glanced up. It seemed like an endlessly tall chamber that extended up and up. Glancing down, it looked like an endlessly deep chasm. Faiglyn sighed. "Any suggestions on how to get out of here? Do we go up, or down?" Down seemed contradictory to the idea, but hey, you never know. Faiglyn glanced down the path. It lead through a doorway inside the cavern's walls. Except it was darkened down that way. No telling where that went.

Valentine Smyth

With everything going on this group of "Strangers turned companions trapped in a hole" began to turn inwards on itself. Faiglyn seemed to distrust the others which was understandable but given their situation they had no choice but to work together. Even if they were total strangers it was nice to be in the company of others, especially out here in Wraevadar.

Peering over the edge of the pathway he saw the dark abyss below them, despite the stone surrounding them giving off light darkness still enveloped the pit. There had to be a reason for these platforms, where they walkways? The structure was puzzling, and Valentine couldn't figure out what their purpose was. Though as Faiglyn began to speak about the skeleton Valentine spoke up, "If I may speak," He interjected, "During that last fight Mr. uh Stickman went out of his way to protect me, and I'm certain those undead who distracted the monsters was his doing as well. And as you said he might not understand our needs as living creatures, but I do think his intentions are pure," He finished, trying his best to clear out Gion's name.

The armored man seemed to be talking some sense, though the talk of age began to make Valentine worry. While he could easily pass as someone in their early 20's Valentine was well over 100 years old at this point, or at least as far as he could remember. It didn't help that Faiglyn also began to question the armored man's age, though thankfully her attention was shifted to getting out of here.

"I'd rather not climb out of here if possible," Valentine said, voicing his opinion. His eye's followed Faiglyn's seeing the doorway, "Well it's better than nothing," he sighed, approaching the doorway. Upon getting closer to it Valentine held out his hand, and a ball of flame burst out hovering just a few centimeters from his palm. He turned around and looked at the others, "I'm not the best when it comes to fighting, but I can at least light the way."

L'arc fist burst out of the rubble with anger and annoyance. The one time he decides to be a good Samaritan to help a few strangers and almost gets buried alive. It hasn't even been a few hours, and this land is already starting piss him off. The rest of his body emerges from the ground, relatively unscathed apart from a few scratches and bruises which quickly healed up. "Well, good to see that everyone is alright." L'arc uttered as he dusted himself off and walked towards the group.

"The names L'arc Settrigh, I am an.. entrepreneur. I am looking for some brave souls to venture these dangerous lands alongside me. So far every single person is either too damn scared to venture here or they died tryin'. Either way, I ain't pleased with the results. But you guys." He pointed his finger and waved it along the party. "You guys are somethin' else. So here a deal, I am lookin' for my Pa, and I am ready to pay good money for your cooperation, or anything else you're interested in, a lovely house on quiet place? Protection for yourself and family members? You name it. All you have to do is watch my and I'll watch yours while travelling through these lands." L'arc seemed earnest in his offer. Despite his profession, he is a man of his word and never goes back on it. His offer was open to anyone who was interested, he had feeling he's gonna need a lot of muscle to complete this journey.

Gion

"Oh, Valentine man, my pal! Your words touched my ribs." Gion did a dramatic pose of touching his chest gratefully. "It's true though I don't understand the living, but I do have the interest for it! I even learnt how to make edible soup! It's totally safe and nutritious! Those bunker rats got big after I fed them the soup several times."

"The armor man is also right, one of the mistake most newcomers do is fight everything they see. Even if they win a fight, it usually left them too wounded to survive the next attackers. Better group up and travel together and avoid unnecessary fight." The skeleton gave Quinn and approving thumb up. He then followed Valentine to the doorway, because he too didn't see a way out by climbing. Maybe they could find another way behind the door. He also listened enthusiastly to L'Arc's story and then applaud him after that.

"Looking for your father sounds like an interesting story, pal. I will help you find him, in exchange I want you to be my friend. How about it, bro? Sounds like a deal?"

Oblivious to the elven woman's suspicions, Annaliese began going around checking for anyone injured. Amongst those she took a look at, the girl with the pointy hat caught her attention the most. She didn't seem hurt, but there was just something about her that made Annaliese find it hard to take her eyes off of her. Maybe it's just because she's so tiny and cute. Putting that aside, no one here seemed to be in a need of any sort of medical aid whatsoever. Maybe that kind of fall simply isn't that big a deal. Perhaps every single person there just isn't bothered by falling, much like herself.

"As expected of the denizens of Wraevadar, everyone here is so tough."

Either way, it would seem that her concerns were needless. While it did make her feel somewhat melancholic, it was good that she wasn't needed. That's right, a world where everyone is happy is a world that does not need the likes of the Crusaders. She knew that. She knew the world she was working towards was a world that would require her no longer. That was why she does what she does, without the need for reward or gratitude.

"Perhaps we could find a set of stairs," Annaliese threw in her two cents when the group began wondering how to get out of the hole. "I don't see why you wouldn't put stairs in a place like this. Not unless you want a doozy of a time going up and down."

As they were engaged in coming up with a plan, another individual showed up and joined right into the group. He mentioned something about his father being missing, or so that's what Annaliese heard.

"So your father is missing, is he? In that case, shall we put up some posters once we get back up there? Well, that, and once we find ourselves some paper to make posters with."

Normally a slight like that would be met with a retort, but Faiglyn didn't allow Quinn to give her one, as she focused a doorway planted in the cavern walls. So he simply stayed quiet as the elven girl gives her two cents about where to go. The Skeleton interjects, adding to what Quinn had said about him, and given gave him a thumb's up. He...did not know what that meant, but the knight assumed it was good as he mimicked the gesture, practicing it for a minute in case he needed to show approval for someone else's actions, which he assumed that was what it meant.

His head then snapped as he hears the sound of rubble moving. One of the fighters had been buried underneath the dirt and rock and crawled his way out. A story was told about how this draconic looking man was going to give land, riches and protection to anyone who could help him find his father. On one hand he would very much like to aid this young man in the search for his father, but on the other...he didn't have time. People die everyday in the realm, and more will die tomorrow and the day after. And he didn't have time to dedicate himself to helping the poor soul. He simply kept his mouth shut and looked over at Valentine as he summoned a ball of flame and voiced his opinion on what to do.

"If that doorway is the only way forward, then forward we must go. Idling here will simply attract unwanted attention due to the commotion we've wrought above." Quinn said.

The new guy who showed up in such an energetic fashion began describing how he needed help finding his father. Out in Wraevadar? That sounded like a fool's mission. But, what she had learned of Wraevadar had been turned upside down on its head in just a few mere moments, so maybe it would be possible to find him. And honestly, what he said he would give in exchange caught the elf's fancy. Land to be hidden away in? Where no one would find her? She liked that very much.

"Very well, L'arc Settrigh. I shall aid you in finding your father, using my excellent tracking skills! Just remember to keep your promise about the reward!"

With that, she walked over to the doorway where Valentine was. "Lets go then, we gotta get out of here somehow." With Valentine's magic lighting the way, they began heading inside the tunnel. Soon enough, though, it began curving downward. Which left a slightly worried pit in the elf's stomach. After a bit, the incline steepened, and it was clear they were heading down and down, instead of up and out. But what could they do? Turn around? That seemed counter-productive. Still, this inclined tunnel was pretty claustrophobic. And hot, it was quite hot in here.

The party of wanderers descending through the tunnel, may be just as lost as anyone could be, but for some that is seen as an understatement. Because being lost and not knowing your surroundings are two very different things. The latter applies to this group of course, but are they truly lost? For some, it is possible to know your surroundings like the back of your hand, yet still get lost every step of the way. Yes, being cramped in such a tunnel is claustrophobic, but things were about to get a little weird.

Up ahead of them, further down in the dark depths of the tunnel, there was a rumbling sound far off in the distance. It wasn't long after that faintest sound could be heard again, but louder, and then again. Whatever it was, it was getting much closer, each time this sound was heard. The sound was then heard again, booming. The tunnel floor shook from impact, and before long, they would meet what is on the other side of the tunnel. Something shot past the group, narrowly missing them and instead flew in between them. It made a whooshing sound while it traveled, and whatever it was collided into the ceiling behind them, and burst through the rock that caused rubble to fly everywhere. The tunnel shook once more.

The thing that hit the ceiling so violently was a hand that gripped on tight, and what stayed between them was a very, very long arm that reached out from inside the dark. A few seconds passed and it stayed like that. There was a huff that came from the deep, and a whooshing sound could he heard once more. The arm was retracting, and he who it was attached to was coming up fast. The arm had fortunately not hit anyone on its way up, but for an entire full grown man, that scenario is much less likely. "Here I coooome!!!" Jullen yelled in excitement, thinking that Valentines flame was the light at the end of the tunnel. Whoever was in the way of Jullen's path might just be the first to greet him... Head first.

"You wanna be friends with the Boss? suppose its small price to pay for your cooperation" The man replied to the skeleton, while his request was strange, he had no qualms with becoming friends with people regardless of who they were, so long as they were useful to him. "Missing... yea I guess you could put it that way..." he answered the adventurer without giving her further details. And then he turned to the elf, she too seemed relatively naïve in her answer and he felt strange that she didn't even bother to more details about him. "I always hold true to my words." Some of these "people" were way too trusting for their own good. But then again, its not he wasn't one to double cross people for no reason.

"Then that it settles it! You lot will be part of my new team!" L'arc proudly announced to everyone despite having only three of them agreeing. "Alright then, first order of business, let's get out of here..." and so he followed the group and eventually came across tunnel and headed downwards. Their descent was quiet at first, the silence was almost defeaning. Thankfully it was finally interrupted by a mysterious long arm. L'arc was almost happy there was something trying to kill them again, at least thats what he thought it was.

L'arc stepped forward, immediately grabbing the elongated arm and giving it a powerful tug. He didn't appreciate having something attack his new team out of nowhere. Whoever it was that was coming, they would soon be given Tior'Ted greeting, the fist to face kind. He could hear the voice of a man screaming getting closer and closer. Whatever this thing was, it had the seemingly the ability to speak in a normal human voice.

'hey, idiot, don't trust this bozo so easily. Trusting without caution didn't work out for you last time.'

Something told Nalia not to be too trusting of L'arc. She couldn't put her finger on what it was.

'goddammit.'

Trusting her better judgment, she kept herself behind the elf, away from L'arc. "I used to be part of a team," Nalia mumbled. Brief images of violent battle and gruesome death and horrible sacrifice flashed through her mind. While she was lost in thought, the group began moving, and so she followed right behind Faiglyn after snapping out of it. "if we can find any kind of seeds, or vines, or plants, I could make it a lot easier for us to escape. So keep an eye out." She looked around, but from what she could tell her odds of finding anything organic were low.

Nalia didn't mind that they were descending, figuring that if things got too bad they could simply head back. When the tunnel began shaking, and booming sounds were heard, she looked around, "what's making all this commo-" Nalia was smacked in the head by a chunk of rock from the debris and immediately fell face-first onto the ground before she could finish her sentence.

'Oh my damn this girl is an idiot.' Nightmare knew he should have hijacked the slime when he had the chance.
