Hi!!
So! If you are a fan of sinister alleys, chrome smiles, neon dreams, black-hearted skies and the unshakeable megalithic corporations then you may enjoy this Cyberpunk series. And if you are a world-builder too, perhaps you might enjoy it twice over. And if you are a fan, a world-builder and you are an Adv/Lit writer who likes to write solo/independant within a group, then this may be just what you are looking for.
~~> So!! For this pseudo-RP, I am looking for writers that will write about their own AU Earth in the vein of dystopian Cyberpunk racing to the beat of your chosen pulse. Whatever geographic locale you'd like to write for is totally fine! Just keep that darkened, dirty future on a strictly sci-fi-ish vibe (but no extraterrestrial aliens, no magic nor supernatural stuffs) and we all goods! I'm all about the soft sci-fi and Solarpunk is all goods too!
And here's the twist.
Now instead of us writing in a shared universe, the Earth you write for is your own creative space, but connected to the post before yours. Something 'moon related' will be the trigger phrase.
What does this mean?
Ex.
∘ | First Post - BuggaBoo writes a post about her Earth where an online virus called "Luna-420" is running rampant and has 'possessed' some users during VR sessions. No hacker mega-org nor online terrorist group has claimed responsibility. Nearly a year has passed and insurmountable fear runs wild leaving cyberspace a near ghost-town. The online economy is in complete freefall, igniting a shadow war between Mega-corps. Execs are being head-hunted, literally in a bad way. The source of the virus is found and it is a rogue online AI that has become self-aware.
∘ | Next Post - UggaBoobs writes in the opening of their post that the story of the Self-Aware AI gone bad is a best-selling trilogy called "Children of the Moon" in their earth. They go on to write about street samurai becoming obsolete. The new standard are called Centaurs. They are full on cyborgs sacrificing 60 percent of their meat parts and becoming encased in transforming nanoware. Basically like human Transformers that may become cars or flying vehicles. Their post follows a group of Sammies going off to blow up a Centaur manufacturing plant.
∘ | Next Post - GaBooBug writes in the opening of their post that the street Samurai excursion is actually a sequel video game called "Eclipse 2: The Unwanted." They go on to write about a high paying mission taken on by a group known as The Reciprocity. The child of a majority owner of a pharma-medical corp has hired them to rescue their kid. Action! Guns! Battle! Violence! Guns! Steath! Drones! Did I mention GUNS!! The group manages to rescue the mark; a 9 year old-boy. But the group discovers that the boy is actually a clone. The first of his kind. Or is he really the first?
∘ | See how that works? And you might wanna just add a song in with your post cuz you fancy!
And then every 10 posts the theme will change. So after 10 posts the 'moon theme' will be changed to something else to write about like: corporations, guns, underground, etc. So there will be more of a write-up in the OOC to formalize the posts. BUT!! One thing I'd like to encourage is a link/inclusion of some read-along-music. Like it may not be to everyone's taste but it should give a bit of an inkling of the 'pulse' of the post. Not mandatory but would be nice lol.
Now, if you are looking to write in someone else's world or interact with other charries... sorry, not sorry, but this is not the thread for that. This is more of a solo run showcasing a bit of storytelling about your AU Earth in some nasty-ass (or not) Cyberpunky feels. K so this is just an interest check rn! Looking to launch next week if we gets some interest! Oh and OOC will be on RPN. Post frequency caters to busy people so it will be drop-in/drop-out friendly. Post size is gunna be 300-700 words hard capped (min and max word counts). Writing expectations are Adv/Lit. Oh and if ya wanna see some samples of the kinda writing size and expectations, please check this!
