Demetrius woke up slowly, still slightly groggy. Next to him his alarm chirped softly, illuminating large numbers reading 5 A.M. For a minute he debated rolling over and going back to sleep but he resisted. He did have a routine to keep after all, and breaking it wouldn't be good. With a sigh the teen rolled out of bed and hit the floor with a thump. He grunted and lifted his arms above his head, popping his back like bubble wrap. Next he moved into a series of stretches, making sure every joint was loosened and stretched. Finishing his stretches, Ledger headed out the door, making sure to creep about quietly so his father wouldn’t be awoken. The blind male winced slightly as the staircase made a loud creaking sound on his way down. He paused and listened carefully for any signs of someone moving down the hall. Assured that his dad was still asleep he continued down the winding staircase. As he circled down, he carefully slid his hand along the banister, reaching out with his other senses to make sure he didn't trip and break his neck in some way. He maneuvered outside the large mansion, knowing the layout by heart. He had the same route every morning, a 5k run along the vast road that stretched out in front of the house. People were rarely out and about at this time, meaning he could focus only on the sound of his beating heart. He sped up into a slight jog, beginning to let his mind drift and the only thing he allowed to remain was his all encompassing heartbeat. For the next 20 minutes he didn't think about how today began his career as a weapon, a weapon that his father has forced him into being. He didn't think about how he was a broken useless son and that love was a far fetched idea. He didn't think about anything. Demetrius slowly came back to himself as he heard the familiar sounds of the old building coming to life. His father employed many servants, as such a massive place was difficult to care for alone, and he recognized the soft voices of a few maids he knew well.
As he lightly jogged up the walkway, he called out a breathy hello, winded a tad from his intense run. His senses informed him it was nearing 7 am, and he needed to grab his items and be prepared to head to the academy, as loathe as he was too. The family driver was told to send him off, as his father deigned to stay inside his study, drunk and alone. It was a common sight, but he couldn't help but feel a pang of anger and frustration. It was bad enough he was being forced to fill a role he had no wish to, but his own father refused to even say goodbye. He was used to it though, the love of his father has never been a thing he's felt, why start now. Heading back upstairs he began packing, feeling delicately around for the items he would need. He had packed most of his items the other night with the help of Maria and Label, two of the kindest maids at the mansion, but he still had a bag left to fill. It didn't take him long, Ledger was quick and efficient in all things even something as simple as packing. When he was finished he had three full bags packed and ready to go and his internal clock informed him it was about 8 am. "Just in time,' he murmured softly to himself. He held up a slender toned arm and sniffed it, wincing hard at the sweaty well worked out scent flooded his nostrils. With some rapid fire math, he deduced that he had enough time to wash and then change.
He emerged from his bathroom and strode back inside his room, pulling open his drawers. A long dark sleeved shirt went on over his defined chest, followed by a white waistcoat. Black tight slacks went on next and of course, his iconic blindfold and white gloves. Dressed and fully ready, the olive toned teen slung a bag over his shoulder and grabbed the other two. On his way out, he stopped for a second, lingering by the grand oak doors barricading his father inside. Shaking his head, he moved on, knowing that a visit would only lead to him being called a disappointment again. Ledger smiled, calling out a greeting to his surprised driver who still wasn't used to Demetrius's way of always telling who's there. "Yulin, good morning. Would you mind assisting me with my luggage?" The driver jumped slightly and headed over to the young man, "Of course young sir!" With his bags being tossed in the trunk, Ledger was ready to go. Not one to speak much he stepped into the car without another word. A long drive later and the black limousine approached a towering school under a smiling sun. As all first years had to, he was on campus in the dorms this year which he had mixed thoughts on. He was used to his own space and didn't often get along with others, hence him being slightly hesitant at having a roommate for the first time in his life. The car braked, sending him lunging forward with a muted growl. He refrained from speaking and gracefully stepped outside the vehicle, swiftly grabbing his luggage. Yulin, waved goodbye, and then panicked remember the young master couldn't see him, and uttered a stuttering farewell. Ledger made to stride confidently to his dorms before he realized this was an entirely new place and he had absolutely no idea where the dorms where or what laid in his path. Incredibly frustrated and annoyed, and plopped down on his suitcase and waited for a fellow student to walk by.
