Smart munitions and future tech are already in the process of being brainstormed by myself.
The IUN is formed through the resulting accumulations of globalization and economic unification through globalized commerce and marketry. The IUN is, obviously, not a dictatorship nor would I think anyone would ever think that is the case, considering it is literally the UN, but with the added Interstellar, due to the fact that it encapsulates all the worlds of the Pegasus Cluster. It is federal, with each former nation constituting a state within the federal union of nations. The IUN itself is ruled through the federal office of government, represented through both local and popularity.
The IUN military went from severely underfunded and undermanned between five stars to the primary point of strategic importance after the Europaia incident, after which recruitment surge massed immensely and funding expanded even more. The funds towards the military had already increased since the military handles exploration and initial habitation, especially in the first planet outside of the 'barrier'. But due to the Europaia incident the military has since begun getting the resources it needs and is initiating proper-rearming (going from a lawkeeper to a proper fighting entity).
The IUN has not been without its hardships within its own sphere of influence, in fact, the last fifty years are the only years in the IUN and UNs combined history that has not seen conflict between nationals and the ideologically extreme, further leading the army to loosen its combat effective edge.
These things are obviously only visible to the objective observer, most if not all are estimating overwhelming victory. Not too surprising considering the size of the military, though. We'll have to see what happens.
All right, let's get cracking.
I like to study politics, history, and the military, as those are the three things that shape the world most today. As of now, I have vast reservoirs of knowledge on anything military, from strategy to logistics, from the mind of the greatest general to the perspective of the common soldier, covering a whole range of skills for specialists. So, if you ever happen to need anything, you can ask me. I just have this whole library full of information that I don't know what to do with.
The other story I want to join is one similar to the Spanish civil war, but it isn't gaining any momentum. So, it looks like I'm going to be joining your story soon enough.
