Art I commissioned from Natsuakai on Deviant art years ago. Not the color pallet used, but is another example of how the species looks from a different angle. The first picture is way more accurate to what the face looks like.

Name: Beinir Olafson "Bean"

Weight: 195lbs
Discerning Features: Bean is thickset though not overweight. His short, black hair is usually unruly and is a deep contrast to his light, freckled face which is round and friendly. His eyes are blue and his nose is short and flat and looks like it has been broken before.
Right or Left Handed: right
Fears/Weaknesses: Bean is afraid of small, dark spaces, spiders and of finding out who his father was. Bean isn't a quick thinker and he isn't good under pressure, he is more comfortable being told what to do in high-pressure situations.
Talents/Strengths: Bean is a blacksmith by trade, but has begun to tinker with more complicated pieces beyond simple swords and saddles. He is working on tech to help riders in combat, and to help dragons or people who have been injured.
Personality: Bean is generally a soft-spoken, friendly individual, more involved with creating things than wrecking them. He's not a great fighter, despite his mother insisting he learn and is much better with words. He loves his dragon Grub more than anything in the world and if the dragon or his friends are ever in trouble, Bean can be galvanized into confrontation. Bean doesn't like talking about his family. He assumes that because his mother won't speak of the incident on the sea, it must have been something terrible. Bean struggles with his identity, not knowing his father, or where his family came from. It bothers him that he can't name any of his ancestors and he often worries what sort of legacy he is destined for. Usually however Bean is very happy to focus on other people's problems and is helpful, compassionate and thoughtful.
Family: Bean was raised by his mother, who was made mute in a terrible accident at sea. His father was involved but Bean's mother will not tell him anything about it.
Relationship: none
Longterm Goal: Bean yearns for a life dedicated to improving the lives of those around him. He likes helping people.

Dragon
Name: Grubnose
Species: Thornwing
Age: 28
Color Pallet: Green in the body which turns slowly to yellow and then to gray on the ventral scales and chest guard scales. His wing membrane is yellow while his tale tapers into orange.
Discerning Features: A very long, prehensile tongue.
How did you and your dragon come together and for how long: Bean has been with Grub as long as he can remember. His mother told him she had pulled Grub's egg from the shipwreck that had lost them his father. She raised Bean, and took care of Grub and the two were inseparable ever since.

Spoiler: The Thornwing

So named because of the curved, projectile thorns hidden under its wings. This medium-sized stoker class dragon is about four and a half feet at the shoulder and can be found in coastal forests and seaside cliff faces. The Thornwing has a long tongue which it can control adeptly, using it to grab and hold things and help catch its favourite prey: squid. The Thornwing is thought to be a close relative of the Terrible Terror, being on four feet with a propoane fire type, though its tail also contains dislogable spikes much like the Deadly Nadder. Its head sail is usually brightly coloured to help communicate the individual's health to other Thornwings and its chest plates are razor sharp and can be raised slightly for defense if attacked from underneath.

Discerning Features: Calder has extremely long and thick red hair, which she usually keeps tied back multiple times. Her skin is pale and her eyes are dark brown, leaving her markings to stand out greatly against her plainess. Her outfit is as pictured.

Fears/Weaknesses: She is afraid of being buried alive, and being in complete and utter darkness alone, due to old peers leaving her behind on an adventure into some caves near the beach of the island her tribe lives on.
Talents/Strengths: Calder is above average when it comes to leatherworking, tanning, and tailoring. She also prides herself on her ability to navigate herself through the world (due to her parents being hunters and teaching her survival)
Personality: Calder is a fighter and is stubborn, she does not give up easily. Give her a challenge and it's difficult for her not to dive headfirst. She is kind, and friendly, but getting her to trust you is the difficult part (after a slew of events where she was bullied when she was younger.) She is a very proud person, and as such puts a lot of pressure on herself to get things done right. Even though shes had bad situations with previous friends/people/bullies, she values those who care about her in the highest regard and is incredibly loyal to them (even if she gives them a hard time.) She also loves dragons dearly, favoring them over people some time because usually dragons show their true colors from the start and won't betray her. She keeps a journal with her (diary really) so she can better recount stories to her younger brothers
Family: Her parents were two of the best hunters and warriors of her tribe, along with the fact that her father was Chief. Calder has two younger siblings (twin brothers) with the same shock of red hair and both are super mischevious

Longterm Goal: Calders goal is to one day meet as every dragon there is and be able to tell an adventure filled/thrilling story for every single one.

Name: Neteyla
Species: Venomous Spinetail
Age: 12 years
Color Pallet: The soft blue as shown in the first picture below.
Discerning Features:
How did you and your dragon come together and for how long: Neteyla and Calder first met when Calder got trapped in a cave in. Calder had been a teenager at the time and had been playing with tribemates who she thought were friends. They were playing near a cave on the beach of her island, they had gone a bit too deep into the cave and had woken up a Cavern Crasher. All of the children except for Calder had managed to get out before the cave collapsed, leaving the young girl in there with an angry dragon. Just as the Cavern Crasher was about to attack Calder, a new dragon stepped in to stop it. This dragon was Neteylas mother, an ancient, titan wing Venomous Spinetail. Once the hostile dragon had been chased off, the older dragon decided to help Calder escape the cave, removing the rubble for her. Neteyla and her hatchmates kept Calder company while the cave was excavated. Once Calder was free and safe she continued to come back and visit Neteyla, though it wasn't until she was at least 18 that the two became a team.

Spoiler: Venomous Spinetail

Venomous Spinetails are six-legged dragons that take residence on both land and in the sea, and they can usually be found in caverns with underground lakes, or anything of the like. They're timid and playful creatures but are always on the defensive at first. They are very loyal to any they befriend, as well as very territorial of their land.

Fire Type: Whispy, red scorching flame

Unique Facts: When the Spinetail ingests a certain mineral its flame changes to a greenish gold color and takes on healing properties, which help wounds heal, and neutralize most poisons, including its own. Spinetail's have venom sacks/glands on the roof of their mouths, as well as behind they're largest canines/incisors. Spinetails also have bioluminescence along their spines and down their tail, which they gain better control of as they get older. /SPOILER]

Personality: Alana is very stern and calm. She's assertive and strong-willed, and knows what she wants. Her memory is not the best, and she has a hard time focusing on details. She is incredibly goal-oriented and fights against diverting from her course, even if it's for the better. She can be hard to get along with, but is excellent at debating and getting her point across.
Family: She was raised by her father, a large man who made his living as a fisherman.

Longterm Goal: To know more about dragons, and about how different species impact the world.

How did you and your dragon come together and for how long: Pep and Alana have been bonded for 18 years, both meeting at a young age. They met at the docks where Alana would wait for her father to return from a fishing voyage, where Pep would try to take fish from returning ships. Alana would often sneak him a fish or two, and they became quick friends.

- Devoted to exploration, she has learned to quickly traverse most terrains whether slippery, steep, or dangerous with relative grace.
Personality: Hilt is a head-strong, energetic explorer at heart. Danger to her is a challenge, and the lass has difficulties refusing them. She boasts a hearty, loud laugh and enjoys one-upping others ( Particularly arrogant men ) in feats of strength and athleticism. Hilt has a high tolerance for alcohol, and enjoys a good song, or dance after a victory or even along one of her journeys. The woman refuses to accept pity, and hand-outs, hell-bent on being self-sufficient with both pride, and integrity. She is loyal to a fault, and enjoys wrestling with men, women, or dragons. As for pet peeves, she dislikes her hair being toyed with, touching of her knee caps, and weak-willed individuals.

Name: Bodil
Species: Mine Runner - Boulder Class / Drill Horns - Sturdy Hide - Can travel through earth - Can eat rocks to shoot out super-heated rock.

Color Pallet: Dark brown body, lighter brown underbelly, and hints of red.
Discerning Features: Gash across right eye ( Limited right-eye vision ), and scar on lip, Dark-Red Rock-like Nostril ( Texture resembles a refined gem )
How did you and your dragon come together and for how long: Bodil, and Hilt met upon Hilt's grand journey to a the tip of a mountain housing a fabled, high-valued gem. Upon Hilt's attempt to mine the gem, her pick bounced off the gem and moments later a dragon erupted from the mountain-side. The mystery gem on the mountain, fabled to dispensary and appear, was nothing more than the tip of the nose of A Mine-Runner dragon. The dragon lashed out in hostility, and Hilt refused the challenge of battling a dragon. The first day Hilt received a scar along the lip, the second day scars along the body. Each passing day she returned to the mountain to face the Mine-Runner, and each day her scar-count increased. By the tenth day, both the human and dragon huffed and puffed in exhaustion. Both injured, and both too stubborn to quit. It was then four other Mine-Runner erupted from the ground to surround them, one particularly larger than the other. The leader, Hilt presumed. It approached Hilt's former opponent and ran its claw along the dragon's eye. Leaving a wound for its failure in defeating Hilt. When the Mine-Runner's leader went to attack Hilt, the previously-injured Mine-Runner shielded the girl from harm. It had learned to respect the viking-girl. Perhaps considering her to be an equal. It was from that day the two escaped the group of hostile dragons and learned to become partners. A partnership that, by now, has lasted 6 years.

Fears/Weaknesses: Deathly afraid of blood to a point of fainting, easily stressed and fear of loud noises

Talents/Strengths: Aalin is a quick thinker, being able to think on her feet thanks to her problem solving and her job as on of the village builders. She is rather strong but definitely not the strongest of her village so she can hold her own against the rough and tumble of being the only Viking girl in her family.

Personality: Aalin is shy and usually keeps to herself. She has a deep knowledge of dragons and can usually be seen reading or updating the book of dragons. Firey and stubbornness tends to be her downfall at times when she is challenged by anyone or anything just to prove that she will not back down. Aalin adores dragons but has yet to make a bond with a dragon or even attend the school to learn face to face with dragons. She has little friends and is usually picked on for being one of the only few with out a dragon on berk as she is waiting for the right dragon to come along and match or compliment her personality (Her future dragon is below).
