"Thank ye," Hyde said, handing the driver another bill before heading into town, making sure to stick to back roads and alleys where possible, but listening in on every conversation. The real fun would begin when night fell, but for Hyde, the day was a time of preparation. He needed a mental map of the city if he was going to navigate it in the dark. His wicked teeth formed a grin at the thought of dragging a body across the rooftops.

But that would have to wait.

Hyde spent the day becoming acquainted with Edirne, learning what he could. He had a rough idea of where a vampire would feed in the town, and as darkness fell, he started in that direction.

Hyde chuckled a bit as more people appeared. It seemed the influence of the vampires was strong in this city. This would be fun.

Most vampires were feeding from blood bags these days, but there were a few that met in feeding circles occasionally. Those circles didn't just consist of vampires, they also consisted of humans who were willing to give blood, either with or without being bitten ... and some humans who enjoyed drinking blood, too.

One of those circles met in Edirne, in a location only known to its members. Some of those members chose to make themselves visible to insiders by wearing a symbol that was referred to as a bladed ankh.

While Hyde had no way of finding the circle on his own, evil knew evil. Following someone he sensed to be... off kilter... He shadowed the person, who he assumed to be a vampire, although he might have been a politician, at a distance, close enough to follow around turns, but far enough he blended into the crowd. Hyde knew that vampires needed regular feeding to survive, and he knew no vampire who survived the first week would be dumb enough to feed on random people or leave corpses around. If there was a coven, then that meant they had worked something out to feed themselves, most likely an underground business of sorts. He'd seen brothel-esque type businesses before, where a vampire would pay for x amount of blood, and be permitted to feed on the human workers.

Of course, getting in meant he had to be either a vampire himself or human cattle... "hehehehe, guess they'll find out what pure evil tastes like," Hyde muttered to himself, "Maybe pure goodness too, if they behave." He felt Seik recoil at the thought inside his head. "Oh, relax. This isn't our first rodeo, brother. Remember last time? They loved you!"

'I hate you,' Seik replied.

As he spoke, Hyde watched the man he was following vanish into a side door in an alley. Interesting, Hyde thought, approaching the door and pulling off the dirty scarf to look presentable. Flashing his pointed teeth, per evil, at the man through the door slit, he heard the latch lock.

"Laysat maftuhat lileaml," the man barked through the door.

"'Ana 'adfae nuqdana," Hyde replied.

"Layasat maftuhat lileaml," the man repeated, "Aibtaead 'aw arhal."

"Dumbass," Hyde muttered as he walked away, looking for another way in. He spotted a window a couple floors up. No bars, and it wasn't screwed shut. Hyde could easily get through a lock from the outside, Abram was a chemist, after all. Letting out a hearty chuckle, Hyde climbed the walls of an alley a couple blocks away as easy as a lizard. "I guess I'll be dragging a body up here sooner or later," he said to himself with a smile as he made his way by rooftop to the window he'd seen. It wasn't even locked. Poor fools, they trusted each other.

Slipping inside as easy as picking a masterlock, Hyde made his way down to where the feeders were kept. Poor humans, they looked exhausted. Hyde knocked one out with his cane and switched clothing with him, hiding the body under the furniture and leaning his cane against the wall, waiting for a vampire to come feed.

It took just a couple of minutes for the first one to pass by. It was a tall muscular man with a black beard. Dangling from his neck was a small, sharp ankh.

The man turned his head and stopped by Hyde. He had never seen that young man before, but he looked sharp.
"Hello..." the man said. Despite his looks, he was a bit shy.

Hyde smiled at the vampire. "First time?", he asked? It was a large man, and vampire strength was multiplied by a mortal of their forms'.
