Roleplay Type(s)
This RP is going to be built around a certain focus group. This group are people, of many different races, that possess a soul-blade.

The Story will begin millennia after the start of the Soul-Bladder Order. An elite order of people with incredible powers that have maintained the balance of the world for thousands of years. The Order was founded by the survivors of an epic war against creatures that ate magic, and thus could have consumed all life. However, the ways of the universe must have equivalent exchange, so the first Soul-Bladders were created. Able to fight against the monsters that all else failed against. After a particularly bloody and devastating war, the magic eaters were sealed away. And thus the Order of Souls arose.

What will be key points in the RP:
1. The Order is in power of the world. Their authority supersedes all kingdom authority.
2. Soul-Bladders are regarded on their pedigree, with old bloodlines holding the most power politically, even as their actual powers decline.
3. Those with the potential to develop a Soul-Blade are recruited into an exclusive school to train their powers.
4. Soul-Bladders are still being created without any distinct bloodline, often with powers that are far stronger than the reigning bloodlines, as such they are found and extinguished.
5. The seal holding the magic eaters is about to fail, and the Soul-Bladders of today cannot match the power of their predecessors.
6. With the realization that their Order may not be enough, the Order recruits newly created and empowered Soul-Bladers, shirking tradition in hopes of survival.
7. The Order will fall, and all hope will rest on the shoulders of those chosen by chance, odd misfits and entitled youths alike to stop the tide of hunger coming for them.

Societal Make Up
Soul Bladders:
1. Being a Soul Bladder is not race exclusive, every race has a great many of this elite class power class.
2. The Order of Souls has a ruling council of 10 people called Elders. These individuals are chosen based on merit, intelligence, and past deeds. All with the intent to maintain control of the Soul Bladders. Though in recent centuries those that gain the Elder positions have been mostly hereditary.
3. Soul Bladders are placed into the general 3 classes: Support, Defense, Attack based on their overall capabilities. The actual spectrum is much broader.
4. Thanks to a fanatical theory millennia ago, it became tradition for Soul Bladders to have children only with other Soul Bladders. The goal was to preserve their presence in the world and prevent this kind from dying out. However, it was discovered this concept hurt them instead, as over time their powers decline with new generations.
5. No one understands how, but Soul Bladders are awakening Soul Blades from bloodlines that never had Soul Blades. These new Soul Bladders hold power long lost to the old order. And as such it was decided to remove these new threats before they could destroy the current quid pro-quo. Anyone discovered with a Soul Blade but not of an approved bloodline usually wouldn't live to see the next day.

Humans:
1. Humans are one of the most populace races, Most are ruled by a monarch/religious figure/organization
2. Magic users are rare in this species, as such those that can use magic are either highly regarded or feared and hated.
3. Magic use in some human controlled cities or towns has been outlawed and those that are caught are killed.
4. Nobility is usually hereditary but in unusual cases common folk are able to gain a royal title.
5. Common folk make up 97% of the species and a fair many are soldiers, merchants or slaves.
6. Much of the human society is xenophobic and either scorn or full on hate the other races. A shaky treaty maintains a thin balance of mutual survival with the other races.

Elves:
1. The elven nation is the only one that is fully unified under one royal family.
2. It is rare for elves to be outside of their forest kingdom, but they have ambassadors to throughout the kingdoms to ensure peace and trade.
3. Elves choose their royal families from the 12 noble clans, and a majority vote must be met for the next rulers to gain the crown. It is not hereditary.
4. All elves are considered equal in their society, nobility are just their speakers and leaders in times of turmoil or danger.
5. All elves can use magic, though with varying strengths. This connection to magic has granted elves superhuman strength, speed and extraordinarily long lives. The oldest amongst them are over 2 millennia old.
6. Because of their longevity, their culture revolves around a required courteous and patient rule set. They could not afford to hold grudges against others of their kind for decades or centuries for if they fight with the same frequency humans do, they would drive themselves extinct shortly.

Fairies:
1. Fairies are ruled by various Kings or Queens. Each sub-race has their own leaders and kingdoms.
2. Fairies are creatures born from Fable conditions, meaning their do not mate. Certain special conditions must be met for them to be born.
3. Being a Fable type of creature, they are all linked to magic. And each sub-class is linked specifically to their native element.
4. Fairies are fickle, and do not generally act as other races. Instead they follow their own wants and desires, which can change in an instant.
5. 'Ware leaving the path when interacting with a Fairy or you may find your soul bound to their crafty and dangerous individuals.

Vampires:
1. Vampires are ruled by a group of ancient vampires. Their official title is the Triumvirate. Their power is absolute in vampire society and defiance is not tolerated.
2. Vampires come in two classes: True Borne and Turned.
3. True Borne are born vampires. They are considered the noble class in this race.
4. Turned are considered to be lesser creatures. Often no more significant than shit on the bottom of your shoes. They make up the servant class of vampire society. This is including, but not limited to: Soldiers, personal servants, merchandise to exchange.
5. Vampires can only Turn humans. It is not understood why the process does not work on other races. If attempted, they victim will die without fail. As such, their food supply is limited to humans as well, for they need to consume blood from a living body to be able to gain any benefits.

BeastBorne:
1. BeastBorne are shifters. Able to take on three different forms:
1.1 Sapient: Their physical abilities are slightly better than normal humans and they can pass for human society.
1.2 Hybrid: This is when the BeastBorne has shifted into their anthropomorphic shape, combining their Beast form with their human form. This grants heightened senses, strength and endurance. While in this form, BeastBorne risk falling into a Frenzy state if their mental acuity falls to low.
1.3 Beast: The BeastBorne has fully shifted into their animal self. They retain their intelligence and gain full access to their beastly abilities. They however lose their Sapient abilities.
2. BeastBorne form small Packs, which is lead by a single leader. The Alpha is always determined by combat between the current Alpha and a challenger. The only outcomes are victory or death.
3. BeastBorne are not able to turn other races into more BeastBorne. All BeastBorne as born as such, all half-breeds are able to exercise full-blooded abilities, though with more difficulty.
4. BeastBorne are not naturally connected to magic, the only exception are those that become Soul Bladders. As such they not able to use magic. They do however have a high resistance against magic, making them dangerous and valuable soldiers against magic users.

Dwarves:
1. All Dwarves are part of a clan. There are dozens of clans, and each clan chief is elected from within the individual clans.
2. Dwarves are a long lived race, though not as long as Elves. As such, their society is highly structured and anchored in tradition.
3. Unlike most societies, the structure the Dwarve treats its people based on their skills. Craftsmen such as smiths, builders and scientists are regarded very highly. Merchants and support roles are under that, with soldiers the lowest niche.
4. Dwarves, like the mountains they come from are immensely powerful physically and many are gifted with magical power.

{{More to come, ideas and additions would be amazing}}

Soul Blades Info
The Concepts and Nuances of Soul Blades
1. A Soul Blade is a physical manifestation of an individual's very soul. As such, no two Soul Blades are the same.
2. A Soul Blade comes in three stages: Base, Awakened, Ascended.
2.1 Base: This state is always a physical item. It can be nearly anything with the exceptions of, it cannot be a part of your body; it cannot be a tattoo; it cannot be a sentient construct. The majority have been bladed weapons, hence the title "Soul Blade". But they can be a necklace, a ring, a cape, a crown, boots, a crystal, etc. In this state your powers are around 10%-20% of your full capacity.
2.2 Awakened: This state is when you gain full mastery of your powers. At this point, your Soul Blade will allow your to access roughly 21%-50% of your powers. When a Soul Blade Awakens, it can change shape, or become something else entirely. These changes can either be to the item itself or you, granting you armor, physical body changes or something else. Being in this state increases cost of using powers or magic.
2.3 Ascended: This state is when you have a complete and true spiritual epiphany. It can only be gained once you truly know who and what you are. The process to have such an experience in not known even after thousands of years. Ascended state cannot be achieved without having unlocked Awakened state. When in Ascended state, you are granted the full might of your potential. Many Soul Bladders have gone absolutely mad from such a power increase. In this state, your powers evolve, becoming much more powerful versions of themselves and often with incredible effects. It was the Ascended Soul Bladers that sealed the magic eaters away thousands of years ago, and many revere those with this power as something akin to gods. Because of this incredible increase in power, so too does the cost go up. Staying in Ascended state costs constant energy and all abilities/powers cost many more times their normal due.
3. The Soul Blade reflects you in appearance and abilities. Those that possess a heroic nature tend to Soul Blades with capabilities oriented to protecting others. Those with selfish natures or evil dispositions tend to have Soul Blades that destroy or cause grief.
4. A Soul Blade can be damaged or broken. If this happens, it can slowly heal itself.
4.1 If an Awakened Soul Blade is broken, their wielder will lose their powers until their Soul Blade has healed. And most suffer from Soul Damage, which can cause instability in the affected individual.
4.2 If an Ascended Soul Blade is broken, the individual must reforge their Soul Blade by taking the Reforged Path. A very dangerous process that if not completed correctly, will leave the Soul Bladder with their powers permanently crippled. Or their Soul Blade with consume them and unleash a horrid monster upon the world comparable to the magic eaters. Just like gaining the Ascended state, the Reforged Path is unique to the individual, and no one knows how to do it.

{{Still working on this lore, ideas and thoughts appreciated :)}}

I'm interested in the idea, though depending on how well my character works with the lore/narrative I might not join.

Hey for the record.

noun
plural noun: bladders
  1. 1.
a membranous sac in humans and other animals, in which urine is collected for excretion.
"patients were asked to empty their bladders before going to bed"

  2. 2.
    anything inflated and hollow.
"an air bladder in the arch and collar of the shoe"

Just popping in to note my interest! That's how things are done here right-?
Either way, the concept seems cool so I'd like to be involved once things get rollin'
