Gravitational Force

Dark Lord of Creativity
Name: Your character's name. Your character can keep their Human name or come up with a Dark World name. Or have both. Whether or not one or the other will cause a positive, negative, or neutral reaction from those you interact with will vary depending on who they are. What really matters is if you can gain a reputation that makes your name matter.

Darkworld Faction: The new category they belong in(Vampire, Werebeast, Demon, Witchkin, or Undead/Forsaken/Lost) and any subcategories they belong to (Vampire Bloodline/Werebeast Strain/Sins their Demon form represents/how they got their Witchkin abilities/Type of Undead/Forsaken/Lost). For example if your character was a Werecrocodile Werebeast you'd list both here. Please reach out to me about this beforehand and I'll help explain the details. Keep in mind each player has to choose a different race, so decide amongst yourselves who's picking which one.

Image (or Description if you can't find an image you like): What your character currently looks like (and if you want what they looked like when they were a Human). If your character has more than one form (like how a Werebeast has a Human and Werebeast form) post both. If you need help finding an image for your character please reach out to me, I am very good at finding specific images.

Age: Please ensure your character acts their age and remember they haven't been in the Darkworld long.
Gender:
Sexuality: (You don't have to post for this one but you can if you want to)

Background: This doesn't have to be too long but should give us an idea of your character's past. It would be a good idea to include events that motivate them here. Keep in mind your character was a normal (for a given value of 'normal') Human from an Earth like our own before coming to the Dark World. Unless their background involved them messing with the occult which resulted in them ending up in the Dark World, in which case message me to come up with the details.

Rebirth: How they lost their Humanity in the Darkworld. Describe the scene a bit. In your message to me I'll lay out some options for how your transformation could have gone.

Personality: This is more about showing than telling, so you don't have to put much into here if you can roleplay them to show it.

Quirks: What makes your character stand out? Nervous tics, distinguishing features, speech habits, etc.
Likes:
Dislikes:

Motivation: What does your character hope to accomplish? Escape back to Earth, find a cure for their condition, carve out their own power base, live in luxury, just survive, find adventure, or some combination of the above? What more do they want beyond that?

Skills: What is your character good at? Whether it's musical talent, mechanic skills, or just being able to memorize lyrics to songs easily post it here. Keep in mind skills aren't universal and you can't be good at everything. Being able to play the cello won't help you with a clarinet (and muscle memory may work against you) and not every machine can be handled the same way.

Powers: The more specific and well defined your power and its limitations are the better. Keep in mind the more powers your character has and the more powerful those powers are the more drawbacks and limitations there will be on them.

Song: A song that fits the character. This isn't mandatory, but can be fun and helpful when figuring out how to play your character.

First Draft.

Name: Aiden

Darkworld Faction: Werewolf

Image: Screen Shot 2020-09-27 at 11.49.53 AM.png51226429_755527744823079_6000262482961104896_n.jpg

Art Credit: Edit by me (Left) and (Right) has a watermark in the bottom right corner

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Straight

Background: Aiden was the ill-fated victim of a kidnapping that resulted in him becoming a test subject to an unmarked secret laboratory in the middle of nowhere deep underground. The place had originally been structured around the idea of developing a more modernized and efficient take on MKUltra experiments and at some point, they began kidnapping civilians to supplement their research. Unlike most backstories that start like this, nothing substantial was gained aside from a good bit of trauma and paranoia before he was released Into the care of another group entirely who seemed to specialize in their own research. While the first group was attempting to change the human form into something more powerful by brute-forcing their way to a "higher means of existence" via forbidden science, clearly having shifted their goals over the years much to Aiden's mental detriment, this other group was more concerned with bridging the gap between our world and another entirely that they'd made contact with.

Aiden being an unsuccessful attempt at some sort of lab-made mutation, and dying from the abuse his body had taken over the years, was transferred into the hands of this other Top-secret project to be used as a guinea pig since no one that actually worked in the facility were willing to travel to the other side of the sinister door they had opened even with the benefit of safeguards in place and the sizable pay raise in store for any who volunteered.

Rebirth: Already mentally and physically exhausted after inadvertently traveling to the dark world, he fell ill and collapsed. Too weak to run from a werewolf that sniffed out his scent and attempted to eat him. It bit and broke his shoulder but he used his other arm to beat it back with whatever rubble was handy, throwing rocks and sharp bottles before eventually grabbing hold of a sharp object and piercing the werewolf. Not enough to kill it obviously but enough to make it retreat. Within a few minutes though he bled out and was reborn as a werewolf himself.

Personality: Cold and Paranoid. Whatever personality he did have outside of these two traits was long since scraped away and replaced with the metaphorical "scar tissue" that came as a result of his trauma.

Quirks: He sometimes has animalistic outbursts such as growling, barking, etc. He's not proud of it and is often incredibly embarrassed afterward every time it happens.

Likes: Caves, The sky, Rain, most elements of nature. He found it very freeing to be out and about for the very brief time he was allowed

Dislikes: People with too much power, Environments that are too sterile, Tube Lights, Small places,

Motivation: What does your character hope to accomplish?

Isolation for now then possibly some higher form of survival. Nothing lavish but at the very least comfortable if he lives that long. He hopes to avoid most conflicts and possibly even discover a way back to Earth. Anything to escape the hellscape that is the Dark World. Not adverse to adventure if it's productive in some way.

Skills: He had some very brief training in terms of weapon and hand-to hand combat but since he didn't meet the requirements for the "superior being" they were hoping to create he never saw any sort of real-life experience in using said abilities. (So he can throw a punch TECHNICALLY but in terms of putting any of this to practical use he's gonna have some trouble against anyone who's actually trained their whole lives/spent their whole lives fighting etc xD duh )

Powers: He dog. Dog bite Seriously though while transforming into his wolf form is painful and offers benefits of it's own he has abilities he has gained in his more human form as well.

Healing Factor. He can rapidly heal from most wounds that would severely damage others. Despite this, any scars he had before he became a werebeast (including the scar that would have resulted from the killing blow that ended his human life) remain despite his ability to heal

Super speed. Another benefit of being a werebeast is that even in his human form his speed has increased intensely due to his transformation. Other such benefits include
Sharp claws
Fangs,
Tremendous strength (bolstered in his werewolf form obviously), and
Hyper-enhanced senses such as smell, hearing, and taste.

Name: Yve Lily'ith Crestfield

Darkworld Faction: Vampire. ( Street vampire, but turned by an Old Blood )

Image: 18.jpg

A tawdry 5'6" Yve believes herself much taller mentally. Auburn lockets of hair fall haphazardly about, but when the situation arises her hair shines and she can be seen sporting a vast array of hairstyles that range from a punk rocker to a business woman conducting the most important deal.of her life. Amber eyes are always on the look for her next victim but often show an innocence from a youth that was forced from her. Lush, ruby red lips are always present whether that is make-up or a product of her vampirism is left to the imagination. She sports a slender but athletic build as if she worked out a few times a week in her previous life.

Age: 29
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Asexual

Background:
To call it a rise to power is granting too much in the way of the world. No. Yve's life was predetermined from her conception. The offspring of a two dollar hooker and a billionaire philanthropist is nothing but planned.

Sure there was more than two dollars poured into the street walker that went by the name Dolly. There was medical bills. Hush money. Blood money ( after all who would miss just another used up disease infested whore? ) and general upkeep of raising a progeny, but it was all worth the investment.

Yve's dad never spoke of her mother, and each inquisitive question was met with a stern backhand to the face. It only took two times and the young child was already conditioned into submission.

While the other children spent their youth on squandered actions like playing at a park, bike riding, and other such merry moments many adults recall about their childhood, Yve spent each of her days much darker.

Jean Pierre ( Yve's father and the CEO of St. Jean's Hospital for the weak ) was not one to be deterred from his goal in life; to produce a successful heir to his throne as the leader on the front of modern medicine and to form a Monopoly on the medical field.
Some called it greed, but Jean Pierre saw it as the natural progression of the world.
As time aged on, Jean Pierre molded and forged his legacy in the blood of Yve.

Desperation takes the shape in many ways for different individuals, but in the case of Jean Pierre his normal curiosity in the occult led to a full-blown obsession while embroiling Yve at the epicenter of it.

Everything from phony seance to Nordic rune reading became everyday practices for the young Yve. Her blood ( the blood of a young virgin ) was priceless and even harvested and used as a bartering tool for powers that were later found to be useless.
Following the natural progression of the occult led to Christian theology and a sheer fanatical obsession with Demonology for Jean Pierre and his only child.

During an occult ritual where Jean Pierre had found what he thought was the key to unlocking unlimited knowledge he was, in turn, killed by his own hand before his work was completed.

The sudden death of the founding father of St. Jean's hospital was little more than a bloodbath. The sharks began to swim about, but the last will and testament of Jean Pierre was succinct and to the point; Yve would inherit everything. The twenty year old who was bathed in blood for the sake of this one endeavor in life was changed yet again.

All those many long years of being mentally tortured, beaten into submission, and exploited for her father's selfish gain had left her cold and empty, but not stupid.
No. She was far from that. This opportunity allowed for her to rise above her pathetic father and show the cowards that she was the rightful heir to her father's legacy and she would be damned to hell if she was going to let any one take that from her.

Rebirth: Yve is no idiot and not one to let her guard down, but she is a promiscuous woman but only when the need arises. During a meeting with an opposing firm Yve was doing her best to put on the charms and sexually exploit the CEO. It has been said that darkness summons darkness and Yve was playing with forces even beyond her knowledge of the occult. Armed with a firm understanding of many things considered taboo she felt confident, but let her guard down. While the CEO had fled to beyond his chamber doors, and without Yve in tow, she had been escorted down to the lobby.

Walking outside she noticed a priest walking by. He was easily identified by his garb, and she decided to take her anger out on him as he was no threat and an easy target.

"Hey there ya bastard. Where the hell do ya think you're going this late at night" came her retort. But that did not illicit a response.

Moving close now. "I said, where the hell do you think you're going, old man?"

Suddenly the cloaked figure turns and speaks, "You do not know the darkness that hell is." And just as suddenly he continues walking.

Perturbed, pissed off and armed with a general idea of the theological ideology of hell Yve pursues him.

"Who the fuck do you think you are talking to me like that, old man? I could end you right here or pay to make you disappear and no one would bat an eye!"

Nothing. No response. But Yve could see a crucifix hanging and swaying in the mild wind of the night; it was a rosary.

The priest rounds a corner and Yve pursues now out of pure spite; pride is a terrible sin to possess.

The old man enters a ramshackle building to which Yve scoffs at such poverty before entering herself.

Making her way through a long corridor she can finally make the cloaked figure out standing in the center of an empty room.

Emboldened by a past life and adrenaline she asks once more. "I said who the fuck do you think you are, old man?"

The cloaked figure lowers his hood and smiles exposing fangs. "Pleasure to make your acquantince. Allow me to show you Hell."

Before having a moment to react fangs are being sunk into her neck, and her hand reaches to grab anything before falling onto the rosary before fading to black.

Eyes blink despite not needing to anymore, but the neurons firing in her subconscious brain continue to send impulses that say blinking is mandatory.

Dry lips are licked, but will never be moist again. A deep breath, but no air fills her lungs. Muscles move out of some past memory they once shared with living tissue.
Fingers flex and knuckles crack.
Yve finds herself standing and finally unclenches her hand after a burning sensation begins to radiate from inside outwardly. The small crucifx from the rosary falls to the ground and the imprint is emblazoned on her left hand.

"That bastard" her words sound different to her ears. Once again lips are licked and eyes blink even though they are fruitless endeavors.

Tattered business attire adorns her body, and then comes the hunger. A gnawing sensation akin to when a smoker has not had a cigarette in two days. It starts at the base of the neck where the spinal column meets the brain. Slow and dull at first, but growing into a full on frenzy of neurotransmitters firing at inconsistent frequencies and not ever finding any true equilibrium.
Yve was cold and alone and, worst of all, hungry. Hungry for blood and power. There was no clue as to where the hell she was, but the hunger needed to be satisfied and satisfied quickly.

Personality: Yve had always been a social chameleon. She often brags about being able to hold conversations with anyone ranging from the super pious to full-blown nihilists; a very fitting trait for one that held such a position in her previous life. Seductive and sultry should the need arise, but yet cold and distant if only to draw her prey in out of fear of losing her in their life. Few truly know what her true personality is, and fewer cared enough to venture beyond the facade she presents to the world. She considers herself a calculating individual and a lover of chess as life is all about moving people into positions that are advantageous to her self gain.

Quirks: Yve overly articulates her words as if she is choosing them very carefully. Will shift her weight from leg to leg when she is uncomfortable and she is not aware she is doing this.

Likes: Chess. Board games requiring skill. Reading. Jogging. Social engineering. Psychology. Recreational drugs.
Dislikes: Religion. Prudes. Carrots. People that have too much self control. Piety.

Motivation: Power. Yve does not wish to leave the Dark World despite the utter harsh reality that she is very alone and very weak. She feels her personality and sheer will is enough to survive on until she can rise to a position of power.

Skills: Can be very persuasive verbally and is not afraid to use her womanly charms to try and sway a situation to her gain.
Adaptable to most situations if given a small amount of time to understand how she needs to act.

Powers: *All powers are unknown to Yve as the RP starts with this being her first day in the Dark World.*

Regeneration. Rapidly heal from wounds that would be near fatal to a normal human.

Super speed. Yve tends to move a fair bit faster now and her movements are far more fluid. This is not something she can turn on and off; it's an innate ability.

Claws. Nails become hardened and longer and she can rend exposed flesh easily.

Mental persuasion. Yve can manipulate individuals with a weak constitution kind of like a Jedi mind trick. This can happen without her even trying and she can't control it right now.

Turn to mist. Depending on how long the RP goes, this may not ever be understood and she may utilize it.

Human Name:
Hazel Greene

Dark World Name:
Beliya Talmund

Pronunciation:
Bell-eye-uh Taal-mund

Dark World Faction:
Demon

Age:
25

Gender:
Female

Pronouns:
She/Her

Sexuality:
Bisexual

Appearance

Height:
5'5ft | 167.74cm
Build:
Slim
Feather Colour:
White and red
Eyes:
White irises with black scleras

Beliya lacks a nasal bridge, leaving her nostrils completely exposed and adding to their already strange bird-like appearance. She is completely covered in feathers all the way down to her knees, which have purple and blue bruised coloured three-toed talons with black claws. Having four fingers on each hand, her fingers are covered in red feathers, with her nails also having long black claws like a bird. Beliya also has several sets of sharp fangs, which often pierce her lips. Lacking ears, Beliya makes due with two holes that help filter sound, however there is always a light ringing sound that is most prevalent in silence, which drives her crazy.

Quirks

Likes:
Fashion
Drinking
Attention
Shitty reality tv-shows
Frank Sinatra
Journalling

Dislikes:
Consequences
Getting wet
The woman who cursed her
Being outperformed

Beliya often brushes her fingers through her feathers when she's nervous, oftentimes she won't even realize it. She also has a slight problem with pronouncing sounds with the letter "s", as well, words like "the" come out as "za" due to still adapting to the fangs in her mouth.

Skills

Beliya is incredibly agile. She's able to keep a low profile and slip between the cracks. She also has a killer sense of fashion, and in the human world she had even considered making it into a career before settling on marketing. Her most bizarre and unexpected skill however, is the fact that she's got an exceptional photographic memory. While she can't memorize everything she sees, generally if she's seen it for long enough and deemed it important she'll remember it save for a few fuzzy details. Beliya also has a fantastic sense of direction, and if she's been to a place twice will be able to remember the route back for quite some time.

Powers

The Blue Flame

Beliya can choose to engulf herself in blue flames. While her body is encased in fire she can melt through copper and gold with ease, however steel poses a challenge. However, if she uses her power to its fullest like this, Beliya will become exhausted very quickly and risks slipping unconscious. Often she instead chooses to engulf only her hands in flames if she needs a weapon, which she can then use both via directly touching her victims or throwing the blue flames at them. The strength of these flames are relatively weak, causing mild to moderate burns, and if Beliya uses these powers too often she can become very tired. More so, if she is wet she is unable to summon this power.

Motivation

Beliya seeks to grow more powerful and make a name for herself in the Dark World and meet the demon who gave her his blood. Her wishes for revenge against the mother of the boy she killed are also a fantasy she has, however Beliya has no idea if she'll actually be able to accomplish this, and due to her self-centred nature would rather pour the resources into becoming stronger so that she can hopefully evolve and change out of what she considers to be her hideous bird-like form.

Personality

Sneaky
Selfish
Impulsive
Intelligent
Charismatic
Ambitious
Witty

Beliya is an inherently selfish person. If she wants something she won't bat an eye to the pain it may cause others, unless that pain will be more of a burden to her later. Her selfish nature is even more pronounced due to her naturally ambitious personality. Beliya has always reached for the stars, and can often get tunnel visioned when reaching for her goals. Her sneakiness is also something Beliya is known for. From being quick with her hands and swapping tests in school to being able to slip into crowds unnoticed, she has a knack for avoiding trouble when she can. Her impulsive behaviour is what originally got her into the mess she's in, and it has been something Beliya has had her entire life. This impulsiveness often manifests in risky behaviour and rash decisions, although more often than not they've paid off. Beliya isn't all bad though. She's quite charismatic and witty. She's able to fit into most social settings, and make strong and often good first-impressions. Her wit helps her greatly with this, as she's got quite a tongue on her for both cracking jokes and throwing insults.

Background

Hazel was born into a well-off family. She had both an older and younger sister, both of which she tormented relentlessly. Hazel's passion was truly in her appearance and reputation. She had an air of self-confidence to her that was unmatched, and this reflected in her large social groups and many friends. Her school life was centred around her social standing and friendships. She was in turn an incredibly cold and cruel child, however due to her family's money she got away with everything. Hazel only had a change in her personality when she went to university for marketing, and realized her mean streak wouldn't get her far. Going into intense therapy, Hazel actually made a turn for the better, and was starting to shape up to be a relatively "good" person. She began to genuinely focus her attention into healthy human connections and soon she found herself quite happy and content. While her siblings never truly trusted her again, Hazel was able to have a relatively neutral relationship with them.

However, this streak of kindness wasn't without its hiccups. Hazel was still reckless and often her mean-streak would come out when intoxicated. The night that truly changed her life was when she had been partying with some old high-school friends and wanting to fit in decided it was a good idea to go for a drive despite having more than a couple shots along with some less than legal mind-altering substances. It was around one am while Hazel was driving, and she felt on top of the world, enjoying the high of life. She was going fast, with her friends cheering for her to go faster. She didn't care, it was late, and she was invincible. However, that all changed when a young boy decided to cross the street. Hazel had been going faster than she could keep track and didn't see him. She tried to swerve however she still hit him and lost control of her car, causing it to violently slam into a pole and flip. The boy died nearly instantly. Hazel however, did not. She woke up in a hospital bed in more pain than she'd ever known. Her actions caused her to be on the news, and her friends blamed it all on her. Nobody would speak with Hazel, her parents and siblings not even coming to visit her. She was completely alone, and in more pain than she could manage. Slipping in and out of consciousness often, Hazel thought she was in a dream when the demon came to make the deal. She could exchange her soul for a re-do. To her, nothing seemed better. However what she didn't know was that this demon was sent by the boy's mother, and she was about to enter a whole new different kind of hell as she slipped away from this Earth for the last time.

Rebirth

Hazel woke up in the Dark World feeling as if her body was on fire. She tried to scream but no sound would come out and instead all she could do was meekly gasp for air. As her body contorted in pain, she smelt as her skin sizzled and burned, and watched as white and red feathers began to grow all over her body. Her hands and legs began to change, and Hazel was able to let out one singular wail as her nose fell directly into her lap. Hazel was covered in blood, and knew she had made a terrible mistake. When she crawled towards the demon who did this to her, he simply laughed. With blood pooling in her mouth, she begged him to tell her what was happening. He simply shrugged and said she'd made a bad deal, and explained who had sent him to her. The anger Hazel felt built in her body and she let out a scream that could rattle windows. The demon then smiled and said she was lucky to not be a ghoul, and that she should thank him for allowing her to become a devil instead. Hazel was too angry to respond, but too weak to fight. Instead she lay on the ground, her head facing the floor as she sobbed in agony at the pain she was in, her tears hardly allowing her to see. By the time she had her senses back and could walk, the demon was gone, leaving only a note that said; "your new name is Beliya Talmund. Use it well or die trying."

name: Elliot Chambers Ax
darkworld faction: ghost
age: 18 6 days
gender: male
sexuality: pansexual

background: Ax's early life was nothing notable. He lived with his bimbo mother and father. He despised his mother for most of his life, the woman cheating on the father who couldn't afford to leave her and made Ax's life hell. Ax of course sought to move out the second he could, his chance coming in university when he lived on campus with some people in a small dorm house. He became close with some of his dorm mates, though they weren't the best people. They got Ax into drugs and such, but he was just happy to be free and making his own choices.

Things changed whenever Ax and his friends decided to go camping in the woods and get stoned together. Recently teens had been going missing, but it only increased the fun for them, they wanted to get scared shitless and tell stories. It got a little too real when they found one of their friends with an axe in the forehead after she went to pee. Ax pulled the axe from her head and the three of them(the two friends remaining) attempted to escape in any way. Sadly, they were too deep in the woods to get any service and calling for help wasn't an option.

After an hour all of Ax's friends were dead and he was the last one left. He managed to outwit the killer for now, but his luck ran short when he got caught. After a struggle Ax managed to grab the axe and swung without looking. The killer fell dead, an axe in their forehead. This killer, most knew as Pete a football player who was well known for being liked by everyone. Bleeding and terrified, Ax stumbled through the woods until he managed to find help.

Ax was quickly arrested and put on trial for the murders. After a very long trial, Ax was found innocent and the murders were put on Pete. It was an understatement to say many people didn't believe Pete was the killer behind this and the several missing cases. One of the main people upset was Pete's family who had been covering for him, still not believing he was responsible. Ax received a lot of hate and ended up having to drop out of schooling.

After a month of recovering, Ax was at his parents' home alone when the lights went out. Ax was at the hand of another killer, who intended to get revenge for Pete. The two killers attempted to hit him in the forehead with an axe just like he had Pete, however, Ax managed to block the hit with his arm, ending with a badly broken arm and a hole in his forehead, just safe of his skull. For their second option, the two killers cut of Ax's head. Their inexperience made this slow and painful, taking multiple hits not only kill him but also to separate his head. These two killers were Pete's friends, hired by his parents to get revenge on the true serial killer. Ax became another missing person case as he vanished from his family house.
rebirth: Ax doesn't know how he got here, to be honest. He was dead, floating in and out of consciousness, at some point floating into something he shouldn't have. He appeared in the dark world, invisible to others around him. At first, he thought this was some form of hell, but most people didn't seem to be dead. It was strange, he wasn't walking 'earth' and he was invisible. He remembers sitting by people in the street, trying to do something ghosts would do in scary movies. It didn't work well until one day, the person he shoves stumbled slightly. Ax was shocked and quickly began trying to interact with the 'world' more. He struggled at first but soon began to be able to interact easily, even to the point he managed to make it possible for people to see him.

personality:
  • bipolar
  • slightly unhinged
  • jumpy
  • overly bubbly
  • crude
  • blunt
  • insensitive
  • inconsiderate
quirks:
  • very jumpy(scares easily)
  • has physical tics
  • stutters on words
  • often takes off his own head for fun
likes: cooking, piano, sleeping, being unconscious or unaware, and decorating cakes
dislikes: blood, axes, forests, being touched, aggression, and anything coloured red
motivation: revenge(or so he says, but more or less he lacks purpose at the moment so he tries and convince himself that's what he is living for)

skills: handling gore, using an axe(just a skill he picked up...), cooking, thinking on his feet, playing the piano and hiding
powers:
levetation~
the ability to float off the ground, however, this is limited to a meter tall at most.
ghost mode~
Ax returns from his form to his previous mode of invisible matter. While in this mode he can't move objects in the world and is confined to the room as a normal person would(can't go through walls), however, he can expend energy that will allow him to go through walls as well as interact with some objects(large ones require too much energy). If he runs out of energy he can't maintain his normal form and is left as matter until he absorbs enough energy after time to rest.
'immortality'~
while in his form hits that would result in his 'death' would result in his matter scattering and left without a form for a while. Weapons created to be used against ghosts change this....

Name: Nicholas Everett
Nicknames: Nick, Rett, Nicky (Dislikes)

Darkworld Faction: Lust Demon

Image: 1626112373986.png1626139017316.png

Age
: 23
Gender: Cisgender Male
Sexuality: Pansexual

Background:
Nick was born to a single mother, Kayla Everett, when she was seventeen. His mother did her best to provide for Nick, but she always had a hidden loathing toward him because she felt like he ruined her life. She would often neglect him, leaving him for several days by himself in the basement of her home with only food, water, and some second-hand books to keep him entertained. When Nick turned ten, he was placed in foster care due to allegations of his mother abusing him. The CPS workers discovered bruises on his arms and his "fort" he had made in the basement and removed him from his home. He bounced from foster home to foster home for six years, with some homes being better than others, until he decided that he could not take living in foster homes anymore. In his last home, Nick's older foster brother, the biological son of Nick's foster father, took pleasure in physically abusing him and sneaking into his room at night.

One day after Nick's sixteenth birthday, he ran away from his foster home and spent what little cash he had on a bus to the city. There, he lived on the streets, doing his best to fend for himself. He started selling marijuana, and, after some time, he began selling himself to get by when he couldn't find another way. He found that it was quite easy to get drunk men emerging alone from taxis or stumbling out of bars to give him some cash for a few minutes in an alley or on their couch.

During the winter after Nick turned eighteen, a demon (appearing as a man) named Reeves found him nearly freezing to death in an alley. He offered Nick a place to stay and a job, and Nick took the offer almost immediately. He signed the contract without reading it so he could skip immediately to the hot meal he was promised, which he would later regret. Reeves provided him with hot meals, hot water, and a twin bed in a room with two other men, and Nick was grateful for all of it.

Reeves trained Nick how to defend himself, use weapons, and please others. If Nick was not bringing in enough revenue as a drug dealer, he would make Nick offer his other services to their clients. Nick became very good at luring customers in this way, and it became his primary job under Reeves. Reeves made sure that Nick knew that he could not deny any customer's wishes, unless it was going to permanently scar or kill him. Nick was grateful for housing, food, and a steady supply of weed and cigarettes, but he hated working for Reeves. The other men in the apartment would often harass him, make fun of him, and humiliate him whenever possible. Even worse, Reeves would sometimes disappear for days or weeks on end, and Nick would be left to fend for himself against the others. Nick would often drink to numb himself or escape temporarily to his friend Katie's apartment.

He met Katie while living on the streets. She had also been homeless, but was able to secure a job as a waitress and afford a small studio apartment. They met while Nick was working a corner one night, and she picked a fight with him over the spot. After a night of arguing and getting no clients, they decided to get a drink together instead. While living in her apartment, she provided Nick with books, writing supplies, and companionship, which he very desperately needed. She became his shoulder to cry on, and he became her outlet for anything she needed, including sex.

One day, Nick was sent out on a job, but he angered the man he was working for, and the man killed him. When Nick woke up, he was in what he could only think of as Hell, and he was met by a demon with Reeves' voice. Nick soon discovered that the contract he had signed was not all that he thought, and he was reanimated as a demon. However, due to his main sin on Earth, lust, he was cursed even further. Nick now appears as each person/creature's "ideal person," meaning that he is practically irresistible to everyone who lays eyes on him (some limitations apply, see below).

Personality: Nick's personality fluctuates based on who he is around. When he was around his only friend, Katie, he was carefree and goofy; he liked to make jokes, pull pranks, and smoke weed. Katie was also the only person he allowed himself to cry around. When he is around his boss, Reeves, he is reserved and timid. He is careful with his words as to not set Reeves off. When he is around others whom he does not know well and who are not his clients, he is often quiet and keeps to himself until he gets to know them. He often gets the feeling from strangers that they want something from him and are willing to take it whether he wants them to or not. When Nick is with the clients that Reeves sets him up with, he puts on a flirty, seductive façade and is willing to change his demeanor based on their orders or body language.

Quirks: Nick has a nervous habit of touching his fingers to his thumb one at a time, as well as playing with his hair.
Likes: Nick likes writing novels and short stories, reading, smoking weed and cigarettes, drinking, and Twizzlers. He uses substances as coping mechanisms, and likes the texture of Twizzlers and the fact that they can be used as straws. He also loves animals and will even approach wild animals to try to pet them. He has found himself in some precarious situations this way.
Dislikes: Nick hates being called "Nicky," being degraded or underestimated by others, and foods with "weird" textures. His mother used to call him Nicky, which he didn't mind at the time, but then Reeves adopted the nickname for him to degrade him. He dislikes being humiliated by his boss and clients, though he acknowledges it as part of the job. He dislikes foods with "weird" textures because he has been wronged one too many times by food on the streets.

Motivation: Nick is mostly just doing his best to survive, as well as to obtain his freedom from Reeves. He is unsure of how to approach this. Beyond this, he seeks deeper connections with others who care about more than just his looks.

Skills: Nick is good at flirting when he needs to be, and he has never had a client turn him down or review him badly. He is also a talented writer, although he does not believe this and rarely shares his writing with others. He is also talented with guns, and has excellent marksmanship skills.

Powers: Nick appears as extremely attractive to every person/creature he encounters. He may appear as a human, a demon, or any other creature. He may also appear as any gender, height, weight, etc. However, Nick's powers do not translate to tactile or auditory sensations (he feels and sounds like his demon self). If a person/creature is asexual, Nick appears as himself. If someone gets close enough to him, Nick will also begin to appear more as his demon self. Nick can damper his powers by covering himself in clothing, hiding his face and body, and avoiding eye contact.

Name: Phoenix Van Hassel. She was named after the legendary bird of myth, the Phoenix, which symbolises rebirth. Her aunt died just days before her mother discovered she was pregnant, and after being born, she held the same fierce attitude and bright red hair as her aunt, leading to her being named Phoenix. The Van Hassel family went back for generations, having primarily male children, however in recent generations more daughters were born, until Phoenix, being the first only daughter in the family in hundreds of years.

Age: 19
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight (though recognizes there are incredibly attractive women in the world, too)

Background: Phoenix was born on a cold, late October day. She was named Phoenix, in relation to her also red-haired aunt who died shortly before the world found out about her existence. After birth, it was discovered that she was just as fierce and fun as her auntie, supporting the choice of her given name. She aged like any normal girl, just learning about the world and being ever curious. At 10 years old, while exploring an abandoned shed with some friends, she discovered an interesting, orange colored, dusty book. Within it was hard-to-read script and symbols, but Phoenix was incredibly smart and learned that the book was a gateway to a world of magic. At twelve years old, she figured out that magical powers were much more serious and powerful than she thought after she set the class guinea pig on fire. By thirteen, after becoming more advanced with magic, her parents had found out about the odd experiences and unexplained happenings around the house were due to the strange book she owned and read out of. Finally, they decided that they couldn’t put up with her behavior anymore and abandoned her suddenly one summer. Being abandoned at 13, crucial years in a young girl’s life, lead her to continuously dabble in the magic of the book to fend for herself. For six years, she worked towards becoming more powerful with the magic and learning how to control it better. She had to steal what few belongings she actually had, and oftentimes her food was stolen so that she could still have somewhat fresh and safe meals.

Rebirth: One day, while practicing new magic from the spell book, she became particularly intrigued by the section on rune-based rituals. She flipped through the pages, as she did many years before, and came across one page that was completely new to her. Written in fresh, metallic-red ink, a ritual circle drawn across both pages. Instantly curious, and with nothing left to lose, Phoenix grabbed a stick and drew the ritual in the dirt, foolishly trapping herself in the center circle. After copying down the symbols as they were drawn in the ritual page, she rushed over and grabbed her candles from her bag. Clutching the book to her side and recalling the basic fire spell, she lit and placed the candles as instructed on the outer line of the circle below each symbol. As the final candle was placed, a large gush of wind, seemingly coming from the ground beneath her feet, shot up. She held the book tightly, scared, and watched as the lines in the dirt became filled with strange dark smoke, heavy enough to stay within the displaced lines in the dirt. The dark smoke lit up with an unknown source from beneath the ground, though it was faint. Suddenly the ground begins to crumble, but she can’t escape the cursed ritual. As the hole in the center becomes larger, the strong winds change direction and begin to suck leaves and other surrounding objects into the hole. Frantically scrambling, yet her struggle in vain, Phoenix plummets through the ground, her screams deafened by the wind. The book falls in with her, and the portal is suddenly closed. Earth is left just as it was before the ritual.

While she falls, it’s as though time slows to a halt. Her body suddenly feels like it’s on fire; a burning, rashy feeling spreading throughout her. Her vision becomes blurry before going completely black, though she holds onto her consciousness. She keeps the book tucked tight against her body somehow, despite the fall. The burning feeling goes away, and she becomes suddenly aware of the thick atmosphere around her. Opening her eyes, finally able to see, she realizes how close to the ground she is. The moment she makes contact with the ground, she becomes unconscious, the book falling into a heap beside her.

Personality: Cautious, somewhat bitter in the new world, but still tries to hold on to her human troublesome or childish tendencies

Quirks: When anxious/nervous, she fiddles with the many rings on her hands, often causing them to clumsily fall off.
Likes: Horticulture, cooking, and painting
Dislikes: Small rodents/all insects, and sweet foods

Motivation: Realizing life in this new world is much easier than having to cover up her magical powers in the human world, Phoenix decides to take a chance and try to genuinely explore the extent of her powers in this new world, also wishing to finally make friends who really could accept her as this mystical being, not just some crazy girl with fire hands. While going back to Earth would be familiar, and it’s a safe/hopeful feeling to want to go back, she recognizes that her life was just agony there, and she is truly comfortable in this world, and must survive as she knows how.

Skills: She is an amazing cook for only being 19, as she’s held a passion for it since she was a small child. She prides herself in her ability to cook Oriental/Asian style foods, and she can also make a small variety of basic brownies or cookies (though she isn’t a big fan of sweets). Additionally, she is a great painter, often spending her time painting landscapes, flowers, or highly patterned butterflies. While it’s not a useful skill for physical survival, it helps her keep calm and stay relaxed.

Powers: As said, Phoenix learned magic from a mysterious book she found in her youth. She always found the fire-type magic much easier to perform, perhaps due to the legendary origin of her name. She also found that, without complex rituals of some kind, she could do basic elemental bending (like conjuring water by taking it from the air around her target, or influencing objects by moving the air around them). The complex rituals she never quite got to, since she preferred practicing the basic powers until she mastered them. The rituals contained within the book can allow her to do anything from teleportation, to much darker magic, like manifesting creatures from other worlds. Generally, her power relies on the book, as she is just simply a vessel capable of handling the intense intellectual strain required for spell-casting.
