Doomsday Cult in the Countryside
The Idea
➸ A profiler from a major city is sent to investigate a case in a rural county, where he has to work hand in hand with a local police detective who shows him around. As they try to find a pattern in a series of ritualistic murders, they discover a doomsday cult hiding in plain sight that takes a special interest in them.
Work rivals, opposites attract, mutual pining, possible mild age-gap between adults, slice of daily life in a small town, night driving, secrets, shout-outs, kidnapping, life-threatening situations, end of the world prophecies, and a lot of police nonsense written to look believable.
Present-day, or a few decades in the past.
Happy ending not mandatory!
