  • "..... shit"

The blond cursed under his breath, rubbing his jawline. It was a real mess, at least it felt like one. He'd waved Val off in his bit of upset demeanor, not able to even look that way at the moment. Part of him wanted to grab Eli and shake her- ask what her dead husband would've thought about this, what any of their dead, ripped apart family or friends would think. His teeth clenched as he sent a armored leather set of knuckles into the wall opposite the apartment, shaking his head.

Deep down, he knew that wasn't going to work, that that wasn't the way. But the blue eyed biker just could not face that thing, regardless if it had a name or feelings. He couldn't trust hi-IT that was for damn sure. With a sigh, he ran a gloved hand through his light locks before turning to go get his thi-

"Whoa, hey Jaime, no worries man, sorry I was just.... standing here" Coughing awkwardly, Cody clicked his tongue, managing a uneasy though warm enough smile to move across his face. He blinked and eyed the young man for a moment, remembering that he wanted to ask him something from before. " Hey, I notice the, uhhhh 'shiner' there" lazily pointing to the other males face, Cody arched a brow casually. " Everything coo coo cachuu with you? Not that ya gotta tell me noth'in, it's just sometimes nice to know everyone is..... doing okay."

Which he hoped was true, since it wasn't always the case. There was always going to be in-fighting, jealousy, laziness- luxurious things from the old world that some how always managed to creep into these places. Funny how regardless of the situation, mankind will find trauma to exhume. Blinking out of his thoughts, Cody placed his light blue lenses upon Jaime's own eyes. A basic human piece of him noticed something was off about the other lad, but it wasn't enough to set off any alarms. There was just more on his own mind at the moment.

WRONG. STOP. GET AWAY. HUNGRY.

Harry hadn't heard the voices in a little while, he supposed it was only a matter of time before they came back. They were angry, insistent. Stabbing pain right behind his eyes. He looked to Eli, scared. He didn't want to be around all these people, all these new friends if he might....relapse. He knew it was unlikely, considering he'd heard the voices before and hadn't turned back. But all he could hear was heartbeats. Heartbeats echoing throughout the room. Every person, shortened down to a heartbeat. Some fast and nervous, some even and calm. But they were all heartbeats.

They were all human. Not like him. So different from him. He was strong, fast. He could feel emotions that weren't his, the feelings of those around him. So different.

It took a few moments to notice that he was shaking. Knees wobbling, hands quaking. "I...I th-think I would like to lay down n-now..." he mumbled, looking to Eli once again.

“It’s alright...” Eli put her hand on Harry’s arm, nodding. She looked to the rest of the group. “I think that’s enough questions for today.” she spoke quietly, yet there was venom in her voice. A challenge to anyone who would dare to speak up. She gave Valeria a pointed glare before leading Harry to one of the three bedrooms in the apartment.

“It’s okay now, you can rest.” And all she could think was that he looked terrified in those last few moments. The same way he had when she had first found him. Still covered in blood and viscera, his eyes glassy but so blue. So understanding and scared. Surrounded by bodies, the bodies of other zombies. He had approached her slowly, gesturing with his hands? “Nnn....nnnn...n-no-not l-l-like.....” he had pointed to the zombie bodies, then pointed to himself. “Nnnn....n-not sssssssick.....” he seemed panicked, like she was the monster there. Like she was the one who might snap and kill him instead.

Eli sighed, running a hand over her face. It was going to be a long day, and a long night. “Alright, what else do you want?” she grumbled, looking to the crowd of people still in her living room.

Chris suddenly felt very out of place. Very sunshine-and-rainbows in a room full of people who seemed more likely to fight each other than make peace talks over a package of Oreos. Which were still on the counter, looking pretty much abandoned in the argument. He sighed, looking to Clara. She seemed pretty ecstatic about their new “zombie-but-not” friend. Probably the only one who was.

Even though he seemed really out of sorts. Which was fair, considering the forces of Valeria and Cody were both against him. And Chris knew how intimidating they could be, especially when they shared the same point.

“Poor guy...” he mumbled.

"Coo... coo- what?" Jaime frowned, before reaching up to touch at his face where Cody had indicated. Oh, right, that. "Oh... s'fine. Startled Daisy. She's... strong?" That came out more as a question than a statement, and he offered an uncertain, lopsided smile to try and compensate.

He figured he might not bruise in the same was as a... a human. He certainly didn't bleed the same. It was darker, thicker. His heart didn't pump like theirs, didn't renew the life-giving liquid. What would he need that for? He wasn't alive anymore. A cut would give him away probably, Daisy had always made sure any injury was addressed and hidden quickly, maintaining that illusion that he was fine. Did that even matter now though with Harry here? Did it matter if Jaime was a secret if this guy could be what he was and they would let it happen? Jaime felt his thoughts spiraling again, the startle from running into Cody quickly losing its effect at knocking him out of the cycle. Knowing that was happening and stopping it were two different things, though, and he felt his breath - stagnant, why should he even breathe, undeserved - catch in his chest, and something hard and trembling and painful began to coil into a fist in his stomach.

He needed to get out of this situation before someone caught on to him, or worse, someone might feel sorry for him. But with this loathing feeling congealing in his gut and his thoughts picking up speed by the second Jaime was finding it impossible to think of a way to extricate himself from the interaction. A nervous laugh tried to escape his lungs but to his ears it sounded more like a choking, and wasn't that more appropriate?

Daisy was watching the other so closely for any sign of a move to violence she almost didn't notice the subtle trembling that had settled about his frame. He was overwhelmed, she thought, and the similarities to how Jaime acted in stressful situations were obvious. He'd tried to explain it to her once, in the early days when he'd first come back to himself. He'd said he could feel things, things about other people, their own feelings being like another sense. He'd said he could feel nearly everything more now. That aside from the numbness to touch and pain that had settled over him everything else was raw and rough like rubbing up against an open wound.

It was no wonder Harry had excused himself from the room.

Daisy felt a pang of protectiveness ring through her. It was nothing compared to what she felt for her own friend, and surely not like what Eli seemed to feel, but the situations were too similar for it not to crop up in her.

"Right, okay," she started, more to force herself to bundle up her own thoughts than to draw attention to anything she had to say, "I think we can all see we ain't in any immediate danger here. We needa decide what we do with this. There's more? I say we should find them. Figure this thing out."

Narrowing his gaze, Cody slowly arched a brow, starting to watch Jaime more closely, for a reason he didn't fully understand. He didn't have much to go off of, since not interacting with the guy very much, which he wasn't too sure why. Possibly because he and Daisy were usually attached at the hip it seemed. Either way, he had a moment now- though it did seem as if Jaime was having a tough time. Still, the lad was looking to have some difficulty existing- course, who wasn't these days. But look at his nose, isn't that a weird coloring? Well maybe that's just him- and what about that 'laugh' like it sounded more like he was choking- okay enough internal dialog!

Giving his head a shake, Cody took a deep breath and looked to try and center himself. Disregarding the whole 'She broke your nose cause you scared her?' conversation (for the time being) the combat ready male crossed his leather clad arms and leaned against a nearby wall, letting out a long low sigh.

" What are your thoughts on all this, huh? The, the possibility that zombies can think and feel and not violently kill people? Like, I can't even wrap my head around it, let alone accept it outright..." Shaking his head, he shifted his jaw from side to side looking downward. His arms tensed around him, remembering how ready he was to instantly kill without a second thought, that his initial raw instinct was to remove the threat regardless of anything else in the equation. Did that mean he wasn't ready to be in a group yet? So shortly after running with the others. . .

An off kilter chuckle escaped him, as he just shook his head again, looking back to Jaime, as if remembering there was someone else there. Again, Cody could not help but notice that there was something off about the other male in the hallway. The way he stood, the way he moved, the way he.....breathed? Cody's nose scrunched up getting a whiff of wicked awful morning breath, hoping it wasn't him since toothpaste had been rather low these days. Another thing to ask Chris about. Course he himself could go look for it, but that guy had a gift for finding the most random things. Falling off mental topic again, he trained his blue eyes on Jaime, waiting for a answer and trying not to creepily scan him for whatever reason he seemed to want to do so.
