my golden retriver jumps at the door so her body weight land on it when her and our puppy wants in

I have two dogs and they both have their own little quirks and they depend on if they want in or out.

My mutt will quietly sit by the door, only occasionally whining if he is desperate, when he wants out, but when he wants in he will paw the door and sit until I come let him in.

My purebred Newfoundland on the other hand is a big goof about such things. He likes to headbutt doors instead of using his paws and will lay his head on my lap when he wants out. He’ll generally whine a bit before full on barking if I ignore him, but he’s hard to ignore since he’s a big boy. He also has figured out how to open doors on his own on occasion. He’s too smart for his own good sometimes
