Cassidy "Cas" Wickham || 16 || Initiate || Erudite Transfer

Cassidy walked back briskly from the Nest, she was moving as fast as possible without drawing attention, as she knew that she was pushing her luck with her timing. It was damn close to training starting, and she knew if she missed it she wouldn't be gathering any favours. Hell she was already behind by the fact that she wasn't there, and thus everyone else was getting more information than her. As soon as she was a decent amount away from the Nest she jogged the rest of the way. Jogging wasn't too painful for her, although it didn't take long for any physical activity to become painful for her. As she jogged her mind went back to the interactions with Draven and Cheglok. They were good fun, she had known them for a while and she trusted them to an extent. She knew she could always trust their information, and she believed she could read them well enough to know if something dodgy was happening. Speaking to Cheglok had been risky, compared to him Cassidy was a tiny sparrow, and he was a falcon. But she was wily, she had her ways, and she knew what people wanted a lot of the time. Be resourceful and prepared to do most anything, and most people will become putty in one's hands. Draven had been easy, all he would want was a favour. Cassidy knew it was stupid to agree to a favour without conditions, but she knew Draven well enough to know he wouldn't ask her to do anything she couldn't do, there were only a few things that Cassidy couldn't, or wouldn't do. Cheglok was another matter entirely. Sitting with him just on it's own had been dangerous, the smoke and drugs that laced the very air of that room were having a lasting effect on Cassidy's body already. She felt light, like she was running on air and not the ground, she felt like if she spread her arms she would fly away. Her mind soared with colours and sounds that were not possible to make on earth, and her body was being washed over with delicious feelings. This was without her even taking any internally. However she still had her mind about her, she wasn't out of her sorts, her body may have been reacting but her mind was straight. As was Cheglok's. She had wondered, was this to do in any way with her being a Divergent? Or was it simply the intention of the drug? It seemed unlikely that a drug that strong would have such physiological effects without changing her mind. Yet she didn't know and wasn't going to find out anytime soon. She had got what she wanted, Cheglok would help her, he would deliver a message to her parents and would be on call for if anything were to happen, in exchange for two favours, one of which was fast, quick and Cassidy was able to fulfill it then and there, the other was going to have to wait. Cassidy shivered as she ran, trying to shake out the effects so that she wouldn't look or seem drugged out by the time she got to training. The last thing she wanted was to get in trouble with the instructors.

As she finally made it back to the Dauntless compound she was relieved to see she still had about 10 minutes left before training technically started. She took a small detour on the way to the training area, and slowed down to a fast walking pace. She was breathing quickly from the jog, and could feel a tinge of pain, but it was still heavily dulled from the drugs. She walked confidently however, and entered the dorm. She walked through, unsurprised to see nobody else in here, and made her way to a bed that was not her own. In fact the bed was Lainey's, however Lainey did not use it due to having found an apartment to share with Shay. Thus, Cas had been using her bed as a secret spot to store anything she didn't wish to be found. Nobody cleaned the dorms, if you wanted clean sheets and bedding you had to do it yourself, and not many people did. But Cassidy had found a loose section of Lainey's bed, which was the bottom half of a bunk, and had used it as storage. As she sat on Lainey's bed, she let one minute go past with her simply sitting there and breathing in and out, counting 4 for each, inhale, hold, exhale, hold. As she did, she listened intently for any footsteps or noises, and once she believed that there was truly nobody around, she made her next move quick. Reaching under Lainey's bed, she found the small compartment that had previously just been a hole but Cassidy had turned into a small compartment. Reaching in she grabbed a small bag filled with white powder and gently pulled it out, careful not to let any of the other small bags fall out. As soon as she pulled it out, she checked the bag to make sure it was sealed tightly, and that it would not leak or spill. Her eyes got wider and she could feel her heart beating in anticipation as she stared at the white powder. Her body was already so dosed that she had no need for any drugs, but looking at it made her twitch, it made her pause, it made her consider. It didn't take long however for her to reason with herself, she was grabbing this bag for a reason, and if she used it now then that reason would be completely irrelevant. She would have to come get more, and she would have one less bag of lull in her private storage, and lull wasn't cheap. She had made it into such tight bags that she knew there was the perfect amount in each bag, she couldn't overdose on just one bag and it was enough to do what she needed. She sighed softly and tucked it into her clothes, not in a pocket but delicately tucked within her clothes as to hide it and conceal that she was carrying anything. She checked her time and her eyes widened as she saw that it was only a minute till training was meant to start. Getting up from the bed she shook her head out, she should still have had five minutes left, but the time had flown by while she had been staring at the bag. Cheglok what was that drug in the air? She thought with frustration as she got up and began to sprint towards the training room. Thankfully it wasn't far, and Cassidy made it in quietly seeping into the background of the initiates.

She was surprised to see it hadn't quite started yet, and she was surprised about a few other things too. Firstly she noted that there was a new person here, and it wasn't the supposed new person who had interrupted the session the day before, who Cassidy had already forgotten in name, instead it was a charming, goofy looking boy who resembled Christian, he had dark brown curly hair and a wide toothy grin. There was a dog sitting at his feet and he seemed to be talking with Bloom and Charlie. Was this a new instructor? How quaint for there to be so many changes. Cassidy scanned the room for other peculiarities as she waited for the time to start. She quickly saw lots of familiar faces and groupings, though noticeable disappearances were Finn and Blair. She smiled at Griffon, Fable and Aya who were all still together, and then her eyes stopped on Shay.
What the hell is she doing here? Cas thought with surprise, as she looked at the girl who was currently standing next to Christian. Next to Christian, Shay looked like a mouse next to a lion. Her body looked pale and frail, her skin was the same shade as white chalk, and her demeanour seemed fallen. Cas thought back to that night she had spent with Shay over a week ago, how exciting it had been to be with her, to share in a fun experience of joy and relatable pain. How they had explored and enjoyed without worry, both having been drunk and high at the time. Cassidy felt a genuine pang in her heart as she looked at her, this girl looked very different to the one she had enjoyed the night with. However, it was very ballsy for her to be here now, and Cassidy licked her lips to moisten them as she felt an interesting feeling that she almost never felt for others. Concern. She wanted to know how Shay was. She hadn't spoken or seen her in over a week, in fact if Cassidy didn't know better she would believe that Shay was avoiding her. She had happily ignored her existence, not because she didn't care or didn't want to be around her, but because she was fine enough with what she was doing, that she wasn't going to frustrate Shay by trying to be around her when she clearly wanted distance. She was curious as to the reasonings though, she was certain it wasn't because they'd had a bad time, in fact she rather believed it might have been because they had a good time. She sighed softly, turning instead to look around, noticing that Ghost was here too, which was unusual considering that he was no longer employed as a trainer. She couldn't' say that she was upset however, as she was quite happy to see him here. The last thing her eyes were drawn to was the board that held the names of who was versing whom. Her eyes scanned the names, firstly seeing that Griffon would be against Briony. She felt a bit of worry as she glanced at the lovely looking Avalon girl. There was a good likelihood of Briony beating Griffon, but at the same time, Griffon had skills that he himself didn't even know about. Then she saw that Aya was versing Thorn and she felt good, Aya should beat Thorn. Lastly she checked beside her own name, and felt a small chuckle as she saw who she was up against. Fable. This would be interesting.

Ghost // Male // Age 18 // Officially Unemployed // Erudite to Dauntless

Anika’s eyes were bright, sharp, and bold as bronze. Her pupils were so lustrously dark that Ghost glimpsed pale splashes where they reflected his face. When she spoke, her lips stretched insincerely in a mockery of a smile, like melted candle wax that had reformed wrong and distorted. Amusement fizzled through Ghost at her flippant words, and he couldn’t help thinking that he would enjoy playing a game of cards with Anika. Or ping pong. Or darts. Anything, really. She would make a lovely opponent. “Can’t we play both? Why stop at one?” he responded cheekily. “Don’t tell me you can’t play multiple games at once, because I wouldn’t believe it for a second.” Rather than grace this with a reply, Anika stood, her braids swinging in front of her face, black leather pants so form-fitting that the ripple of muscle in her thighs was visible.
Ghost slouched in his chair a little, letting his limbs sprawl as to take up more space. “Whenever you’re ready for that game, let me know. I’ll be waiting.” Before joining the huddle of initiates in the center of the room, Anika acknowledged his words with a glance over her shoulder. The fine-boned angles of her face were limned in light. High cheekbones, elegantly sloping nose. Hers was a profile that belonged on a coin. From beneath her lashes, her eyes met Ghost’s. A frisson of heat burned low in his stomach, but he refused to believe that it was anything other than deep craving for a drink. Then, before anyone could catch the covert glance they’d exchanged, Anika snapped around and walked off, abandoning Ghost in the rows of blue armless chairs crowding the back of the room.
Left alone with his thoughts, his eyes found the curly-haired boy with the too-wide smile. A golden retriever lapped around his heels, pawing for his attention until the boy bent and scratched the spot between its ears. The dog was wearing no leash or harness, and while Ghost had never been a stickler for rules, he wondered at the legality of a pet that clearly wasn’t a service animal accompanying its owner inside the compound. But more than that, he wondered how the boy had known, within his very first conversation with Ghost, about his fondness for gambling. Feeling disadvantaged, a sour taste filled Ghost’s mouth as he watched the other boy, his lips pursing tight enough to kiss a beetle. Their exchange had indirectly told Ghost that this guy was supposed to be his replacement among the instructors, and despite having been working with the initiates for a grand total of fifteen minutes, the dog owner was already at the center of a small knot of people. Within a quarter of an hour of being on the job, he’d attained more popularity than Ghost had over almost two years.
Unwilling to sink into melancholic self-pity, Ghost pushed to his feet, sighing like a farmhand after a long day’s work. He was used to being on his feet for the duration of his shifts, yet ironically enough it was now that he’d been sitting for an extended period that he felt at a loss for energy. Not wanting to interpose himself in any ongoing conversations, he eyed the fringes of the crowd that was forming around Bloom. When he found a certain pretty, dark-haired girl standing alone, a bolt of mischief went through him. An unsuspecting victim, at last.
For someone who had supposedly transferred from Erudite, Cassidy Wickham had wasted no time adopting the traditional Dauntless black ensemble. She’d embraced it with an alacrity as if she were trying to make the darkness glitter, an off-the-shoulder shirt revealing a messy sheath of saran wrap twisted around rosy skin. Light refracted off the plastic, warping the inked design beneath. “I see it’s taken you no time to fit in with your new faction,” Ghost commented, appearing at Cassidy’s side. Her shoulders scrunched up around her ears as she jumped, and a bubble of glee rose in Ghost’s chest, irrepressible. He had a nasty habit of sneaking up on people even without intending to, but this time had been entirely by design.
“So what do you think, are you also gonna challenge the new guy to a duel? On his first day, no less?” It was the subtlest way Ghost could think of to nudge the conversation toward the latest addition to the instructor team. If Bloom was going to drag her heels getting training started, he was going to use the extra time to his advantage. He wasn’t usually one for gossip, but this new player had piqued his interest, and he wanted to learn as much as he could. As if about to confide a sordid secret to Cassidy, he leaned toward her with a hand cupped around his mouth. “You know I’ve heard he’s killed a man in unarmed combat once,” Ghost said in an ominous hush, as if he were beginning to tell a monster story around a campfire. “Ripped out his throat with his teeth. They rushed his unfortunate opponent to the emergency room, but an artery had been punctured. So much flesh had been ripped away that, when he moved the wrong way, the guy’s larynx just fell out. Needless to say, he was dead upon arrival.”
Ghost stared at Cassidy with overlarge eyes, as if having suffered secondhand trauma from the story he’d invented on the spot, selling it. He crossed his arms tightly over his chest, as if protecting himself from suffering the same dismembered fate. “He’s a brutal bastard, that one. I’d think twice before challenging him to anything, if I were you. He likes to appear harmless, what with the dog following him around, but he’s been on the prowl for his next victim ever since, just waiting for someone to rub him the wrong way.” Unable to conceal his mirth any longer, Ghost broke out into a devilish grin. “So what juicy stuff have you heard about him? Scandalize me.”

Bloom

Mood: Delighted/Professional

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Charlie, Honey, Initiates

Bloom felt her stomach flutter with delight as she listened to Charlie open up about her night with Ghost and the reason behind her bubbly attitude this morning. While some others might have thought Charlie silly for being excited over such a thing Bloom understood what a big deal this was for her best friend. Sexual trauma was one of the hardest things to overcome and something both girls were survivors of in their own ways. Bloom still faced her demons just as Charlie did and to hear that Charlie had taken such a big step with someone she clearly cared about meant so much to Bloom, more than she could ever properly express. “I am so happy for you!” She beamed and clasped her hands together at her chest to keep from hugging her best friend. She never initiated physical contact with Charlie because she knew touch was a big trigger for her friend, much like Bloom was when it came to having her throat touched. So instead the tall brunette expressed her delight with a small shuffle of her feet and clasping over her hands accompanied by her notorious brilliant smile. “No way are you oversharing! I am always here to listen to anything you wanna share with me because if it is important to you then you know it is important to me. This was a big deal and I am so proud of you!” Bloom gushed to her friend as she made sure to keep her voice low so only they would be able to hear her words, her body language was something else entirely as she clearly stood as though she had just received amazing news. “And I wanna make sure you know that you were not stupid for reacting the way you did! That was just your body following what your brain thought you needed in that moment, don’t fight that because sometimes it is right and you shouldn’t be afraid to take things slow.” Bloom recommended despite knowing that Charlie was already well aware of these things and just in her head about it.

At the mention of Phillip Bloom’s smile became more blushing as she slightly bit her lip and put her head a bit closer to Charlie’s. “We had dinner last night…just the two of us with Honeybee there to chaperone.” Her voice was soft and held great affection, especially when mentioning Phillip’s beloved canine by her nickname. Bloom couldn’t help but think about how much Phillip made her laugh, how goofy he could be, the way he always had the perfect slightly dramatic flare set up at just the right moment. Having him as part of the initiation would certainly liven it up and hopefully make it far more enjoyable for the initiates as well as herself. “I am actually really looking forward to working with him. It has been so hard to get time to hang out over the past few months with his patrols and my work shifts…it is kinda nice to be on the same page for once.” She admitted with a slight blush. Bloom was not normally the kind to be blushing and bashful when it came to others but ever since becoming friends with Phillip he was one of the few who could cause such an effect. “He was such a goober a few minutes ago when I wouldn’t share all my secrets with him. In fact I think he is about to start a protest of the girl code.” She giggled and watched as Charlie smiled and laughed along with her. Phillip’s antics had a way of lightening any mood, even when simply telling stories of them. “Besides, who could ever complain about Phillip joining the team when he brings the true MVP my lil Honeybee.” Bloom gushed as she bent down to rub Honey’s ears and give the pup a kiss on the nose.

After several more minutes of petting Honey and talking with Charlie, Bloom glanced at the clock and knew she would need to get the testing started soon. “Well, best get on with it.” She sighed to Charlie as she gave Honey one last hug before standing up and giving Charlie a nod. With that, the leggy brunette walked to the center of the testing room and called out for the initiate's attention. “Welcome back everyone to day two of testing.” She called out to make sure everyone knew she was beginning. “As you all know from yesterday we will be continuing the conscious fear simulation tests today. This means that while you are within the simulation you will be aware that it is in fact a simulation. The pairings are displayed on the screens around the room and as I am sure you remember the winners from yesterday will be competing against each other just as the losers shall.” She reminded the crowd of young dauntless aspiring initiates. “But first,” She continued and pressed a button on her screen. “Before you on the monitor above me are the ranks you all currently fall at. Take note of it and allow it to give you the motivation to either maintain your rank or better it.” She announced and felt a slight stab of guilt that she had to be the one to do this.

Griffon || 18 17 || Initiate || Abnegation Transfer

The walk to the training centre was lovely, and Griffon couldn't have asked for finer company. Of course he was sad that Cassidy had run off, and he wasn't sure where she was going so close to training time, but he trusted she was doing something smart for good reason. Plus, he was not upset at all to be hanging out with Fable and Aya. As they walked together, Griffon thought about how much he loved these girls in his life. One of which, Cassidy, he had lived the majority of his life with, he had apparently been the reason she was alive and had gone through some hellish things with her, but he lacked the memories, although he held the sentiment. He would do anything for Cassidy, and he knew she would do anything for him. His main mission in life at the moment was to regain those memories and restore his ability to keep memories. Fable on the other hand, even though he'd known her for slightly less time, he had integrated into her family, he had more memories of her than Cassidy, and couldn't imagine his life without her for a moment. The idea that he could lose all his current memories of Fable was a nightmare he had frequently, and he couldn't imagine going through that. Then there was Aya. A new addition to his friend group but one he was terribly interested in. Aya was sweet, smart, cunning, witty, gentle, loving, soft, beautiful and capable. She was a fighter and a lover, and she knew what she was doing all of the time. She always dressed amazingly and had the perfect things to say, and knew how to listen well. Plus, the fact that she was close to Cassidy was a huge benefit, as Cassidy didn't allow many people to get close to her. Griffon warmly smiled as he walked with them, thinking these things to himself. Of course he was sad that he hadn't spent much time with Thorn, but after the tragedy, Thorn hadn't been around, and Griffon could never find him. He knew he had a foundry somewhere, but he could never remember the way. Plus, if Thorn needed time, Griffon supposed he would give him that time, and hopefully Thorn would find his way out of his troubles. Griffon wasn't sure how though. He also though about Bloom. They had meant to meet up with her friend, but as of yet they had not done so. He couldn't imagine that the person he saw in his simulation could both be Bloom's friend and his mother, he supposed that he must have gotten his head wrong, and that it wasn't his mother. He had no memories of her face, so it was only a feeling he had when he saw her in his simulation that made him guess it was his mother. When he tried desperately to think back that far, specifically to do with his mother, he wound up with nothing, not even a smell, or a voice, or a name, or even an outline. Nothing appeared when he thought of her. He wondered, did she miss him? Was she sad that he and Cassidy were gone?

The thoughts fled his mind as they neared the training centre, Fable spoke up, asking if Griffon would mind if Chris joined them at any point. "That's fine of course, Fable. He would likely have some good pointers. Maybe we could practice some physical training and some mental training, I know we could all use a bit of both." He said, unsure of how they might do that, but willing to give it a go if they did find a way. He knew he needed to get through initiation, not for his own sake, as he wasn't worried about living factionless, but he knew that Cassidy had already expressed to him that she couldn't do this without him, even though he knew that in her capability she was far more skilled than him and could survive any initiation. He also worried that Fable would not be able to bear if he was factionless either, the thought of either of his sisters following him and denying themselves of being Dauntless... He couldn't let that happen. He had to survive, he had to do well, he had to succeed on their behalves. He knew in his heart that what would tear him up most was if only one of them made it, how would he make the decision of who to go with? If Cassidy made it into Dauntless but Fable didn't, who would he stay with? Or vice-versa? It was an impossible question that Griffon immediately shook from his brain and begged it to forget he'd even thought about it. He didn't want to know if he even had any bias towards either girl, and he wouldn't try to figure it out. Cas and Fable were equally his sisters and he loved them equally. Each knew different things about him and shared in different interests and parts of his life. And Aya was becoming close to that too, she was sharing parts of his life that even Cas and Fable didn't really. Like their private time sketching. It was one of the most pleasant times of his days when they did that. He had to remember to ask Aya if she wanted to do that later, since they hadn't done so today. Entering into the training room with Fable and Aya, Griffon held the door open like a gentleman and they entered the room, closing the door gently behind them. The room was almost full, Griffon saw Cas arriving moments after they did, she must have done whatever it was she needed to do quickly. She waved at him but made no motion of coming over, so he didn't mention her to the others. It wasn't long before Bloom was speaking to them, and Griffon was glad for the hearing aids now, if he hadn't had them on, he would have had to strain to watch Bloom's lips and try to read them from this distance, yet he was able to hear every word. So they were looking at their rankings for motivation? Griffon's eyes scanned the board, but not for his own name. Instead he found Fable and Cassidy's names, both near the top. That was brilliant. On his way scanning the names he saw Aya's too, and as he neared the end of the list he saw his own name along with many others. He wasn't quite so far down at the bottom that he was worried of failure, but at the same time he wasn't so far up that he was safe from it either.

"You guys are doing well." He said to Aya and Fable in a small whisper as everyone around them muttered gently about the scores. He knew he needed to do well in his simulation, and thus he finally turned to the board to check who he was up against. His eyes scanned the board and he saw that he was up against Briony. He stood there for a long while as he looked at her name, trying desperately to figure out who that was. He tapped his thigh impatiently as he tried to force his brain to comply, to remember, but he was drawing up blanks. He searched the room, trying to figure out who it might be. He knew Shay's name, it wasn't her. It was one of the blonde girls... Not Randi, who Cas spoke about sometimes, but one of the others. He looked, seeing that currently two of the blonde girls stood side by side, and Griffon knew it must be one of them, though he didn't know which was which. He supposed it wasn't terrible to not know who he was up against, but it also meant he didn't immediately know what they were like either, which could likely be an advantage, and also just really nice. Turning back to the board, he looked for his friends names. Aya was up against Thorn, he felt sad for that match up, mostly because he feared Thorn would suffer another loss and would struggle even more with his place in Dauntless. He also worried about what it would be like if Aya lost. He had a lot of faith in her however. Then his sisters, he searched for their names, and found them sitting right next to each other. Sadness washed over him for a moment, now only one of his sisters could come up on top in this battle, only one of them would win and one would lose. That was upsetting. Yet he tried to remind himself that both of them were doing particularly well, and that if one of the failed, or rather when one of them failed, they would still have plenty of time and room and ability to regain those points. To regain their position. He hoped dearly that they would not be upset at each other during their simulation. He turned to Aya and Fable who were still with him. "Good luck! You have interesting opponents today, I hope you both do well." He said sincerely, hoping that they would feel encouraged, and also hoping that Fable would understand that neither himself nor Cas (from his knowledge of her) would mind, should Fable beat her. And if Cas beat her, Griffon hoped that it would not negatively impact Fable's status or personal view. As they stood there listening, the boy whom Griffon didn't recognize suddenly spoke, his voice low but high at the same time, holding this jovial delight within it. He said that his name was Philip, although some people around seemed to already know who he was. Then he told them to get to their simulations seats and to sit down. Griffon waved to Fable and Aya, and he looked over to Cas and waved to her too, although she looked pre occupied with Ghost. Griffon himself watched as one of the girls walked off towards Shayla, or at least in the same direction, while the other blonde girl turned her gaze upon him and began walking towards chairs, so he kept pace. "Hi, I'm Griffon, I don't think we've met. You're Briony?" He asked with a smile and a warm brown gaze

Shayla

Mood: Determined

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Chris

Icey blue eyes watched as Chris approached from where he had been chatting with Briony. By the look on the young man’s face, Shay could tell he knew she shouldn’t be here, at least not according to the hospital. That wouldn’t stop her though and Chris had to have known that because as he approached he said nothing about her needing to go back or her being wrong for leaving. The most the young male with hair the color of straw in the sun asked was if she had been discharged, a question he already had the answer to. “The hospital won’t exactly want me if I’m factionless so I decided to check myself out.” She replied simply and each word was laced with the pain and strain Shayla was currently enduring just to stand with her back against the stone column. As she had begun to fear would happen her pain medication was becoming less and less effective as her condition worsened. Already the pills she had popped into her mouth before leaving her apartment were beginning to wear off and she could feel the white hot daggers slicing at her brain once more. She had been in pain before, more times than she could count, but ever since the simulation yesterday the pain never faded for long. It almost felt as though her condition had been made ten times worse by something within the simulation and a voice continuously whispered in her mind that it could happen again today. If that were the case and she did have as volatile of a reaction today as she did the day before Shay knew she would find it far more bearable to put a power drill through her skull rather than continue living this way.

Her brow furrowed slightly as Chris offered her the syringe filled with blue liquid. She had seen this before somewhere, or perhaps something similar, and the memory of it clawed at the back of her mind like a cat trying to open a door. She knew the memory was there but there was something in the way of it, something keeping her from seeing it and muffling all that went with it. It wasn’t a recent memory, she knew that. Listening to Chris explain what the drug was and the effects and drawbacks that came with it Shay narrowed her eyes and seemed to be considering the offer. “I’m already damned so why not take a sip of the devil's wine?” She breathed softly as she took the syringe from Chris’s hand. So this was the reason Chris Parker was lined up to face the reaper, for some reason she didn’t have a hard time understanding why. It was almost as though that hint of a memory, the phantom whisper that came from the liquid when she looked at it, was openly explaining to her that this drug would take for every bit it gives. “Chris…” She began as she looked up from the syringe and met his stormy grey gaze with her own chilling glance. “I…Thank you.” She managed to utter, the pain mixed with her overall discomfort in social situations making the words hard to speak. “You didn’t have to do this…any of it really, so…thanks.” She clarified and wanted to make sure he knew she didn’t just mean to thank him for the Lull but for all the parts he had played in her survival over the last day. This sort of sentimental shit wasn’t something she did often but she knew she owed Chris this much since he was one of the few people she could exist around without being overly worried about what time would take from them. Now that she knew they were both dying it made his presence around her even more bearable and comfortable than it had been before. She didn’t need to feel bad about leaving him when she dies because he likely wouldn’t be too far behind her. She felt a stab of guilt for feeling that way since ideally she truly did want Chris to have a long and happy life but that was out of her control and fate had different far less happy plans for the both of them.

Giving the blonde Parks boy a final tired yet grateful glance Shay began to slowly make her way towards the restroom with the syringe tucked up her sleeve to hide it. Once she had locked the door behind her and managed to slowly and carefully settle herself on the counter the ebony-haired young woman produced the needle from its hiding spot and rolled up her sleeve. She had never used this drug before but some of her former pain medications had required her self-administering injections so she wasn’t an amateur when it came to sticking herself with needles properly. Bringing her breathing to normal as best she could Shay dipped the syringe into her flesh, the slight pinch barely noticeable over the fire in her mind. Pressing down on on the button to release the drug into her system Shay felt an almost icy chill enter her veins as the blue liquid pushed into her veins and the chill almost seemed familiar. A second later she inhaled sharply and felt as though her body was more alive than it had been in months. The pain in her head was met with a wave that passed over it and seemed to muffle all the stabbing and burning, not erase it but make it far more bearable. “Holy shit!” She gasped and held the edge of the counter with a white knuckle grip as she felt the lights burn brighter and became suddenly far more aware of the air hitting her skin and eyes.

Nerdy. Nerdy.

Phillip Parks || 19 || Soldier/Trainer || Dauntlessborn

Phillip couldn't stop himself from relentlessly grinning throughout his entire interaction with Ghost. It became evident to him that Ghost had no clue who he was. This was something that surprised Phillip, but gave him a surprisingly enjoyable feeling within him. It wasn't often that people didn't automatically know who he was and who he was connected to. He had not thought himself to be a stranger to Ghost, simply by means of their mutual friends, but now that he knew he was, it excited him all the more. It wasn't hard to know who Ghost was, Phillip had gone through initiation only one year before Ghost, and had been a nosey person during the next initiation, not only that but even if he hadn't tried to know every new person who came into Dauntless, he knew Ghost now simply through their mutual friends. Charlie, Harper and Bloom. Harper used to go off about Ghost as he had always been described as "infuriating and frustrating." Charlie had never said much but had mentioned him before, while Bloom had only mentioned him this morning. However Chris had mentioned him enough times for Phillip to be familiar with the name. Since Caspian and Maverick had both either died or disappeared, figuring out who the male instructor named Ghost was wasn't hard. He wasn't exactly surprised by what he found. He had heard very slightly that Ghost was good at games, and not sports or silly childish games, but proper games. Whether his source had been true or not, some weasly people he himself had played with, it remained to be seen. Ghost was at least eager, as Phillip had hoped and enjoyed. It was enjoyable to watch someone eyeing him up with such interest, not that Ghost was interested in him at all, but the fact that Ghost didn't know who he was must have been bugging him, because he was watching him closely. Phillip didn't introduce himself at all, he knew he would get figured out eventually, and like it or not he couldn't run away from his family's name, and Ghost would likely give him a cold eye once he found out, so for now he would not be relaying that information. "That's a wonderful idea, let's go see." He agreed, chuckling softly as they exited Ghost's office and walked out into the room where the majority of initiates had now entered. He walked over to the board and gazed on it, not mentioning who he thought would win, and waiting to hear from Ghost. Ghost listed them off quickly, obviously having his mind already set on who he thought would be a rather adequate match. Phillip nodded, "It's a lucky thing Finn and Blair were versing each other, as neither are here today, thus they both get demerited points by default." He mentioned, having scanned the room to make sure his words were accurate. "Though if one shows up and not the other then there's almost no point for them to even go... Ah, you didn't mention Indira, Jackson, Beckham or Leah I see, I'll steal the chance to make my choice." Phillip grinned as he thought for a second, hand on his chin. "My bet is that Indira beats Leah, and Beckham beats Jackson." Phillip finally said. "And if I'm wrong, added to your obviously correct calculations, you will receive your 160." He said, reaching out his hand to shake Ghost's.

Phillip stuck his hands in his pockets as he made his way over to Bloom and Charlie as they began to start the day of training. He was excited to see who would win in these match ups and simulations. He hadn't watched a simulation in a long time, and he wondered if they were as painful and hard as he remembered, or whether they would be more interesting and fun to watch as an outsider. Bloom started off with explaining what would happen today and pointing everyone to the current rankings. His eyes scanned the board about as fast as the kids, and he was extremely glad to see Christian's name at number 5. Chris was doing remarkably well! It was something that Phillip couldn't be happier about. It was a shame Ghost had chosen Chris in his bets, as Phillip would have chosen him as well, hardly seeing why and how Christian could fail. He was aware that his brother was a little more different than he used to be, but from what Phillip had seen recently, that was good news. Other than the fact that his little brother would now likely die before him, the new drugs that Christian was taking were definitely an upgrade from anything he'd ever taken. Phillip wouldn't wish an early death on anyone, but he was glad that at least Christian would be more himself and happier during this time he still lived. As he thought about that he felt a pang in his heart, looking over at his little brother who was standing near a darker skinned girl with lovely hair. He was so immeasurably proud of Christian that as he looked at him he felt a puff in his chest. Christian would make everyone proud. Even Obadiah. Phillip chewed on his cheek as he saw the kids getting restless, Bloom seemed like she was about to speak, but Phillip stood forward. "I know I may or may not be a familiar face to some of you, I am going to be stepping in as trainer! I know, shock and horror, it's so new and unknown." Phillip mockingly said, referring to all th trainers who had come and left already. "My name is Phillip. Now, you can already see on this other board who you will be versing for today's simulations. As Bloom here delicately pointed out, these rankings should motivate you to either keep your spot, or take over another." He scanned the room, making eye-contact with Briony and winking. "Your simulations will be a mix of your fears, randomized, and as Bloom said you will know it is a simulation. So let's get started!" Phillip turned to look at Bloom and Charlie, who nodded enthusiastically to him.

The initiates then began to make their way to the right rooms, and Charlie and Bloom began to follow them to administer the fear serum. Phillip hesitated for a second as he looked at the initiates, watching as they began pairing off and going to different rooms. Who would he go with? He chewed his cheek again as he finally decided to go with Randi and Rhys. Jogging over to them, he squeezed his way in between them, looping his arm around Randi's shoulders, and doing the same to Rhys. Although he didn't know Rhys super well, he had met him a few times and interacted with him some. He was an interesting boy, though Phillip didn't know much. Randi on the other hand he knew quite well, as evidenced by the fact that Honey followed Phillip over and rubbed against Randi's legs with vigour, begging for head scratches. "I do not envy you two, both at the top of the board, either Randi keeps her position or Rhys you overtake her. A tough one for a sure." Phillip said, grinning at the two of them. As they walked into the room, Phillip took the time to examine Randi's physique, and concern spiked within him as he noticed that she looked like she'd been in a fight, although tended to by someone. He didn't bring it up, unsure of it Randi would be happy with him for doing so in front of Rhys. As they closed the door of the testing room behind them, Phillip let go of his grip of both of them, giving them each a tap on the back. "Good luck to both of you, sorry Randi but Ghost has bet that you'll win for today, do you think you could lose just for me? I would appreciate it." Phillip said, poking out his tongue quickly and grinning foolishly. She rolled her eyes at him, a good sign. "Okay now get comfortable, you may be in there for some time." Phillip laughed, as he came over to apply all the proper things and got ready with the syringes. He did Rhys first, grinning as usual. "I'm counting on you." He said, referencing the bet with Ghost. He moved on to Randi a little slower, waiting till Rhysand had already dropped off before he hesitated. "You okay? You look like hell." He asked genuinely, his voice low with concern. "Like you look hot but all messed up as well." He clarified with a tease. Randi assured him that for now she was fine, and he got the idea that if she wanted to talk to him about it she would, but hadn't made her deicison yet. "Okay then, nighty night." He said, giving her the syringe of serum.

Christian Parks || 16 || Initiate || Dauntlessborn

Christian waited impatiently for Shay as he watched her accept his gift of Lull and head off. He was grateful he had had enough of it to not be worried about having given away his supply. He knew he wouldn't need another till later today, unless of course his condition worsened, which was possible. But Charlie and Phillip both had access to the drugs that he needed, and he knew where to get his own supply. However he was more concerned with how this would act within Shay, would she feel like Christian was pressuring her? Would she feel offended? She had accepted, but had she had much choice? She seemed to be in a lot of pain, and the offer of pain relief for someone experiencing that kind of thing was almost unstoppable. Yet he trusted her, he trusted that she would have let him know if she found him being inappropriate, he trusted that she would take enough and wouldn't take too much on her first go - presuming it was her first go. Thus, he fiddled with his phone as he waited for her, leaning against a nearby column and keeping an ear out for the beginning of training. It felt like training was terribly late today, but as he checked the time on his phone he saw that he was simply early. He saw Fable's text and considered it, wondering whether or not he had any plans this afternoon or evening. He thought to the most important things happening for him in the moment. There was Vex and Dr Munro, he was hoping to meet with the Doctor soon, with Vex, and would need to find out from her what time would suit. He hoped it was today, but usually they would do so in the evenings or late afternoon's, so he presumed that would be the same as today, if it happened. Otherwise he was spending a lot of his other time just hanging out with others, training or looking for Blair/Finn. He had kept an eye out for Finn ever since hearing that he had disappeared, but unfortunately he hadn't found any trace of him, which meant that when Blair seemed to be gone in the last couple days, his gut felt like it had swallowed a million rocks. If nobody could find Finn, then maybe nobody would find Blair. Multiple things shot through his brain as he thought about his ex-girlfriend. Her blonde hair coming into his memory, the sweet scent of her and the warmth of her body. He had heard of what had happened to Bella, and he shook his head, trying not to imagine Blair's body in that sort of way. But then he paused, Blair was Divergent... what if she had been taken because of that? Christian sat down on the floor as he thought, considering it pointless to remain standing while they still waited for others to arrive and for the trainers to actually start the day's training. If Blair had been taken because she was Divergent, or told to leave, then maybe Finn was Divergent too? That made sense to Christian, although he wasn't sure if the same thing had happened to the both of them, or if it were simply coincidence that people were going missing left right and centre.

It didn't take too long for Shay to return from the bathroom. In between all of Christian's deep thinking he had replied to Fable with a thumb's up, hoping she would understand that meant he was keen. He wasn't a particularly good texter, so he hoped she didn't find it strange. He looked over at Shay, plopping his phone in his pocket and standing up yet slouching so he wasn't towering over her. "How do you feel?" He asked, eyebrow raised and stormy blue eyes gazing down at her soft features. The answer was positive, and Christian took a sigh of relief. "I'm glad. Hey... if you need more I can get some, but I wouldn't take a lot, you really don't want to get addicted to this stuff." He warned, and watched as she nodded her head. That in itself was a fairly good indication that she was feeling better. "You should talk to Charlie about what happened yesterday, I used to get sick after each simulation and she formulated special formula for me so I wouldn't fail my tests. So if there's something to do with the serums or anything, she might be able to help." He said with a shrug, as he pointed over to where Charlie was standing with both Bloom and Phillip. They watched as the three instructors seemed to get themselves ready to speak to all of the initiates. Christian and Shay stopped speaking, happily standing together in silence as they listened as Bloom first began to speak. Chris looked at the board she spoke of, wanting to find his own name. When he did he was pleasantly surprised, eyes widening with shock as he saw his name so far up the scoreboard. Number 5? He had done so well as to beat out those whom he would have sworn were higher than him. Aubrey for one, who was now much farther down than he, so much so that he struggled to find her name. His eyes sought out his old friend in the crowd, and he saw her standing near Briony. It was evident from her features that she was disappointed, angry, upset... Even someone like Christian who couldn't read people's biology super well, he could see what was happening within Aubrey. He knew Aubrey had been near the top for the first stage of initiation, in fact she may have been at the very top, so it must have been the second stage that dropped her so drastically. He felt ashamed that he hadn't kept up with her to see what was happening. He'd assisted her once with trying to find Finn, but other than that he hadn't had any in depth chats. They had been super close once, when they were younger, when they were dating. There had been the accident, but even that hadn't spoiled their friendship, it had merely been the reason that they broke up. It had seemed for the better anyhow, Aubrey deserved a different type of man than Christian. But he still cared about her deeply, he knew that if she were in trouble he would risk all to help her. He turned back to the board as Phillip began to speak, almost tuning out his older brother, not out of spite or hatred but simply from having heard his voice so often. Plus, he was merely introducing himself. His eyes looked on the board till he found who he was to be versing. Vex. He frowned, unhappy about that particular matching. He wasn't sure how Vex was in a simulation, he hadn't had a chance to watch her since she was always out before he was, thus he was fairly sure that she was good at this. Yet he wasn't terrible either, given his high status on the board.

Sighing softly, he turned to Shay as Phillip finally finished speaking. "Good luck against Aubrey. I hope you feel better." He said genuinely, as he nodded his head as a way of showing his goodbye, and headed off towards Vex and the room that they would be going to be tested in. He walked steadily, his mind clear and his body following his instructions to the letter. He felt proud at this, his chest puffing as he realized how far he had come. Not only had Lull improved his lot, stopping him from being an angry monster or an emotionless robot, but the good Doctor Munro and Vex had been training him in their own ways, psychologically, physically, and with drugs and experiments that Christian had hoped were working, and now could see the difference. There was no sense of him that was monotonous or grey, as he used to be, and also it was very rare to see or feel his anger over-controlling him like it used to. He couldn't even remember the last time he blew up at anyone. Smiling softly to himself, he met up with Vex, and listened as she spoke to him. Her voice was sweet, it dripped like honey and vibrated so perfectly as to make him stare at her with mild desire. "I wouldn't expect you to, as I hope you don't expect me to either." He said flatly, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he enjoyed the familiarity he had built up with Vex. She smiled at him, her body moving and tilting in ways that begged for Christian's eyes to trail down and up. He coughed slightly, covering his mouth with his hand and hoping there was no flush on his cheeks. It didn't take long for one of the instructors to come and help them onto their chairs and administer the serum. Christian thought about what he had said to Shay before, about how he used to have to have his own serum so that he didn't have a reaction to it. Ever since being with Dr Munro, and going on Lull, he hadn't had a reaction, and hadn't been using the specially formulated Serum that Charlie had made up. It was good. He closed his eyes as he felt the needle insert.
He woke to the sound of electronics and occasional lights blinking. Looking around he felt like this place was familiar, although at the same time it felt foreign, like it wasn't quite what it was meant to be. Was this a hospital? Christian had spent a lot of time in hospitals lately, though he couldn't imagine what that would be doing in his simulation, he wasn't afraid of hospitals. Maybe Vex was afraid of... Oh no... Christian realized as he began to walk around, and the familiarity of the building was beginning to dawn on him. This was Dr Munro's labratory, or at least was attempting to be that. There seemed to be one clear way that it wanted him to go, towards, down a long hall and with what seemed to be an open room at the end. He began to make his way down there, watching and listening for anything and anyone, especially Vex. He could imagine her fighting him in here so that she could beat it herself.

Mood: Calculating

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Chris

“Never.” She replied, her voice a honeyed purr as she looked at Chris, whiskey gold eyes meeting stormy grey. She wasn’t standing as close to him as she sometimes did but the way she stood still had a great effect on the young man that she found very pleasing. The way he adjusted himself, coughed slightly, the gentle flush that had risen to his cheeks, she loved having that effect on others. It meant that she was in their head, that she had some amount of control over what they were thinking, it often made sinking her talons in easier though that wasn’t truly necessary with Chris. The young Parks boy was in the process of being perfectly placed under her thumb as well as Dr. Munro’s and he had no idea. The whole thought made her absolutely giddy as it meant she was performing her mission and providing positive results that would bring progress toward Dr. Munro and his supporter's plans for the future. Chris was a chess piece in this massive game being played but without him even realizing it he was shifting allegiances. Already his progress was visible as was the lengths he would go to protect her and the good doctor who was treating him. She had witnessed this just the other day when the two of them raided an Erudite Lab that was causing Dr. Munro problems like a pesky fly buzzing around a horse's ear. Now all those flies were dead or frightened off and Vex was well aware of how far Chris would go to keep her and Dr. Munro safe from those who might wish them harm.

Hearing the call of an instructor Vex approached a set of chairs with Chris walking towards the one right beside hers. “See you in there.” She told him with a small smile and a wink, clearly a bit excited to get to face the young man. He might read it as friendly competition but this was a perfect opportunity for Vex to hopefully examine Chris sooner and add to her report. She didn’t know what simulation they would be facing, simply that they would be aware that it was just a simulation. That didn’t mean she would come out empty-handed, even if she lost which she had no plans of doing. It was important to see how Chris dealt with different situations and to know more about his fears. She already had his files from the prior tests stored away at her workshop but this was uncharted territory and she would get to see things with her own eyes this time. As Vex took a seat the instructor asked if she was ready to which she nodded. A second later Vex felt a small pinch and knew the serum must have been injected. Blinking once she closed her eyes and entered the simulation.

The crunch of broken glass beneath her foot as she opened her eyes alerted Vex to be cautious of where she walked and that something had already begun before she entered the simulation. It didn’t take long for her to recognize where she was despite the flickering lights and the fact that almost everything around her was broken or shattered as though a raging bull had been let loose. Behind a shattered floor-to-ceiling length window she could see a room where several white lab-coated figures lay motionless on the floor, crimson pools and splatter marks splashed all over the walls and floors. A monitor was blinking despite being cracked and she saw that it was flashing some sort of alert that was in tune with a wailing siren used to caution those working in the lab that danger had been detected and it was time to leave. The exit wasn’t what Vex was interested in finding and she doubted that this simulation had actually provided her with one. Without missing a beat Vex began to make her way down the familiar halls, cautiously, quietly, but with great swiftness as well. She did her best to gather information about what had happened as she went and from the looks of it it truly seemed as though some wild animal had been let loose within the lab. Finally, Vex rounded a corner and entered an office that she had been in countless times before. On the floor just ahead of her was a figure she would recognize even if she just saw his silhouette. Dr. Munro lay motionless on the floor and as Vex moved closer to his body she saw that his face was beaten to the point of being completely unrecognizable to just about anyone else. Kneeling down Vex gently placed two fingers to his neck despite knowing it was pointless to do so. This simulation clearly wanted to present her with a reality where Dr. Munro was dead while she was unharmed which Vex highly doubted would ever happen. From where she knelt she heard another being approach and knew it had to be Chris. Glancing up it wasn’t long before the blonde Dauntless-born male was standing in the doorway of the office, his fists covered in blood.

Nerdy. Nerdy.

Rhysand(Rhys).

The tension on the awkward feelings that now hung in the air between them felt like a sliver of glass piercings his heart. It was his own fault he was the cause for the sudden drift in their friendship and still the cause of the distance today. He knew Randi better than most and unfortunately that still hadn’t stopped him from messing up some time ago. Rhysand knew lying to Randi was a big no for her of course she understood people saying some small fibs and such however a real lie was at times a deal breaker. That was what he had done though his intentions had been good having not wanting to put Randi into a position he thought would be dangerous he had lied. The lie was big enough that when it was found out Randi had cut him off not because he had tried to cause her harm but because he had broken her trust. When there was no trust between people who were once so close that would leave a gap, wound, distance between them. It was up to the people involved to repair it however they were and are still teenagers so Rhysand had let his pride and bitterness keep them apart. It was something he regretted deeply and still regretted deeply to this day so just having Randi talking with him like this as they walked was an improvement. Rhysand had almost been certain she would have ignored him though maybe just maybe she was getting past the hurt from before that had helped keep them away from one another. He knew their relationship wouldn’t suddenly be back to how it was; however these small baby steps were something he would continue working on.

He was also just glad to chat with someone about what had happened. The testing the day before had been something he wouldn’t wish on anyone. It was one thing to see things in the simulation because you never knew if that was real or not waking up and seeing it in the waking world as well had been terrifying. It was hard even admitting to Randi how tough that had been he didn’t like opening up about having fears or weakness not many of the dauntless did. Though he knew Randi would never use it against him, not even with them being on almost no speaking terms. He watched as she looked concerned then relieved about him having explained about being checked over just in case it hadn’t been a reaction to the injection. He did wonder what had happened with Shayla since no one had explained what had happened. They hadn’t even told him the one who had been testing with her other than him being cleared after some testing. “I’m not sure if she will be or not I doubt it though. The amount of blood she lost was pretty overwhelming in amount. I would imagine that she would still be in the hospital or at the very least back home on bed rest or something.” He said. Then he listened as Randi continued. “It would be a surprise however with everything going on around here lately. There’s been more and more initiates now even instructors going missing or showing up dead.” He said thinking of all the initiates plus some instructors now who had turned up dead or just gone without a trace. “I have a feeling she won’t just become factionless, not with a family like hers.” He said with a shrug though he really did wonder what would happen if she failed more tests or didn’t show up.

He couldn’t help but chuckle as they entered the building he was happy to see her smile at his attempt to lighten the mood after their heavier talk. When she called herself a bitch and struck a pose to solidify that title he snorted with laughter. “Oh thanks I need some luck so I appreciate it.” He said taking the lollipop from her as she held it out to him. They made their way further in then stopped like many of the others to look over the board. He wasn’t exactly happy to see it was Randi who was his opponent though somehow he wasn’t exactly surprised with his luck. “Welp seems that way.” He said when she said he wouldn’t be getting rid of her any time soon. The two of them looked at one another before heading over to the chairs. “I won’t go easy on you.”he said with a smirk before taking his seat, his shirt riding up faintly for a brief second as a rose with what appeared to be flaming petals peaked out before being covered once more by the material of his shirt. When Phillip made his way over informing them he would be giving them their test today then he told Rhysand to win because he had placed a bet on him the male raised an eye and grinned. He didn’t have time to really say anything before the serum took over his mind. Rhysand blinked open his eyes as the world around him had suddenly changed. “Randi?”he called wondering where she was at and what exactly would be appearing this time around. He seemed to be in some kind of building, nothing exactly special about it. That’s when he heard an odd sound, an almost clicking sound filling the air. Rhysand sucked in a breath when he saw what was making the sound it was spiders of all shapes in sizes.

Charlotte "Charlie" Stark || 20 || Medic || Dauntlessborn

Talking with Bloom, spending any time with Bloom, made Charlie feel even more amazing on this unexpectedly pleasant morning. Bloom's encouragement and reassurance caused Charlie to feel satisfied with how the night had gone, and remaining in her positive mood for a change, rather than sinking into a negative or pessimistic one. As Bloom said, it wasn't something that Charlie could have changed, her freezing, and the fact that it got that far before her natural bodily instincts had turned on was amazing, and a great step. She knew it was probably terribly awkward for Ghost, and as she gazed over to his office, she sighed softly. I wish I could talk to him, explain... But she somehow knew in her own mind that it would be pointless to do that with him. He wasn't the kind of type that would react well to that kind of conversation, at least not from what Charlie could gather after having spent so much time with him. Maybe... maybe if she felt brave enough, ready enough, they could try again, they could play and experiment? Or maybe she should wait for his initiation? Would he like space or would he like if she tried something first, and something new? She had no idea, so many possibilities both to succeed wonderfully or to fail painfully. Deciding not to linger on that thought train, she moved on to asking Bloom about herself. Immediately she couldn't help but raising an eyebrow and grinning along with her friend as she saw and heard her gushing about Phillip. It was unlike Bloom to be so girly about a boy, usually she was quite straightforward and confident, but when talking about Phillip she was almost shy. Charlie felt a warm feeling grow in her heart as she considered the prospect of Bloom and Phillip together, she couldn't imagine a better, more jovial, more happy and friendly couple than those two. She listened eagerly, soaking up every word like a sponge, she wanted to know everything. "I agree, I'm excited for him to be a part of initiation." She said, knowing that Phillip would bring an energy into it that nobody else could match, except maybe Bloom. As Bloom talked about her date with Phillip, Charlie hoped dearly that it would continue happening, she hoped that Bloom would be able to come up to her just like she had come up to Bloom today, that she would hear gushings over Phillip and the stupid stuff he does, but also all the loving stuff. She hoped to hear Phillip gushing over Bloom too. It was a hope, and now it looked like a hope that wasn't too far fetched or far placed. "It will be nice to be on the same or similar schedule as him now, lots of extra time to hang out." She giggled with a wink at Bloom, happily enjoying the blush that poured over her friends cheek. As Bloom announced that it was nearing the time for them to start, Charlie nodded her head and looked around for the man in question, noticing him coming out with Ghost, or rather behind Ghost, and he joined them. The idea that he would "protest the girl code" made her laugh so hard on the inside that Charlie was struggling not to giggle as they stood next to each other, imagining him with a large sign and a sash across his chest. She composed herself, though the grin on her face was still evident as Bloom began to speak.

Ghost was still here, Charlie watched as he simply mingled with people, talking and moving around like he still owned the place and no longer had responsibilities, which at least half of that was true. Charlie felt a small amount of pain as she watched him, wondering whether he was sad, and whether he was struggling to leave because he enjoyed the job so much, or had grown attached to the initiates. He was speaking to Cas, who had entered among the last of the initiates, and Charlie wondered what it was about. She shook her head softly though, he dark hair swishing gently around her neck and shoulders, and tried to concentrate on what Bloom was saying. As all the initiates heads looked at the board, Charlie also scanned it for relevant names and numbers, wanting to know who was where. It wasn't so unusual, many of those who she expected were at the top, yet there were some oddities. Aubrey's name was much further down than Charlie would have expected, in fact she would have expected Aubrey near the top. Was she struggling so hard with the fear simulations? Charlie tried to think back to phase 2, knowing that the fear simulations must have been what caused Aubrey to drop. Aubrey had been near the top of the rankings, if not the very top, at the end of phase 1, and so it was a fair amount that she had dropped, and didn't seem to be gaining it back. She had never thought of Aubrey as someone who might be paralyzed with fear, having always accustomed that to herself, but as she thought about it, she wondered if their history was the very reason that this was flipped. Charlie had gone through genuine nightmares as a child, she had lived them out through her teen years and done some of the hardest things imagineable, not to mention having nearly been beaten to death on numerous occasions, many times by her father. On the other hand, Aubrey had grown up rather happy and free, her father had died before she had grown terribly attached to him, and she had trained with some of the best up and coming people, Caspian and Harper. She had excelled at everything and had never shown an inch of fear. But when it came to the fear simulations, Charlie had done much better at them than many of her peers, and it had caused even more of a target on her back. The fact was that simulations were scary, but she had lived through so many of her own nightmares that she could always get through them, just as she did in real life. With Aubrey... her life had been fairly idyllic, and she hadn't had to go through many fearful things in her life. So these simulations, they were likely very hard to get through, and as Charlie could recall, Aubrey's scores were much worse than many of the initiates. She hoped that she would do better now that it wasn't a fear simulation like the other ones. Although faced with their fear, they would have the knowledge that it was a simulation, and would only need to puzzle solve their way out. Aubrey was good at that. She could do this.

Charlie was jolted out of her thoughts as Phillip began to speak, introducing himself to people who didn't know him and explaining then what was happening. As he finished, he smiled and headed off to help Randy and Rhys, and Charlie quickly looked for who she could help with. Seeing Vex and Christian were already ready, she quickly hurried over. "Good luck you two." She smiled, having seen that they were talking happily before they went in. As soon as she did that she came back out and looked for who else had not been helped. Seeing that Thorn and Aya were not done yet, she made her way over to them. "You guys nervous?" She asked gently as she lead them to their seats and began to get them strapped in and ready. She held up the syringe. "Well, good luck, remember you will know it's a simulation, the idea is to problem solve." She remarked, and gave them the syringe. They were out quickly, and Charlie checked that everything was working fine, before exiting the room and heading to Shay. Someone had already put her under, Phillip or Bloom, or even possibly Ghost, and Charlie felt a little frustration. Shay shouldn't be here, but it wasn't something that could be changed, nor enforced. In fact, Dauntless leadership would be happy that Shay was here instead of in hospital. Charlie had expected to have to deduct points from Shay out of default, but now that she was here she genuinely had a chance of winning. She didn't look well though, and Charlie worriedly watched her for a few minutes as they started the simulation. She watched Aubrey and Shay, knowing that Aubrey would be physically fine. Charlie placed her med bag nearby to Shay, and continued to check her vitals and health as the simulation went on. She had not been informed to what the problem was yesterday that caused the terrible seizure, but she had suspected it to be the serum. Now as she watched Shay, and her body seemed to be acting fine, she wondered if instead it had been the simulation itself. Thinking back to what it had been, Charlie remembered that it was her fear of loud noises. Maybe Shay had a problem that was triggered by loud sharp noises? Charlie made a mental note to ask Shay after the simulations, but instead she waited a few minutes longer before finally believing that she was fine. She would check on her later, but hopefully they would get out of their simulation fast anyway. She hoped Aubrey would win, even as she hoped Shay would not lose. Knowing that those two things couldn't happen synonymously, she exited the room a little sadder. Walking over to the large monitor desk, she placed her hands on the cool desk and watched the screens and monitors, watching the simulations. Too often her gaze strayed on Aubrey and Shay, and Charlie struggled to watch anyone elses.

Aubrey Stark || 16 || Initiate || Dauntlessborn

"I'm with that, let's go hit some bars then, see how many drinks we can get for free." Aubrey joked, placing a playful elbow into Briony's side and winking at her. The two of them laughed a little and smiled, Aubrey looked over at where Chris still stood with Shay. "We should invite Chris too, he's always good fun and a great listener." Aubrey said, knowing that Chris had also been getting close with Briony. She had picked up back when she was dating Chris, and then even more so when Blair was dating Chris, that Briony might have felt quite a bit of jealousy and feeling left out. Chris was a lovely boy and it wasn't a surprise, but unfortunately Briony hadn't had a chance with him, he had gone straight from Aubrey to Indira, then straight from Indira to Blair. Now he was broken up but it seemed different, it didn't feel like he was planning on moving on, even if he was hanging out with lots of girls closely, she couldn't imagine him trying to woo any of them. Especially not Shayla. Aubrey knew that Shayla wasn't into guys, at least that's what she remembered, it had always been something interesting that Aubrey had thought of experimenting with herself, but then had always known enough boys to keep her preoccupied that she had never thought about it further. So she imagined that Chris and Shay must just be good friends, something she hadn't recalled back when she knew either of them closely, but in one way she was glad that Shayla had someone, even if it hurt her badly to see that. Although Aubrey wasn't so mean as to wish Shay would fail initiation, she wouldn't be terribly upset if they never had to see each other again. Even as she thought of that, her body ached, telling her that was wrong, that she would miss her. She ground her teeth together as she stood there and sighed. She tuned in as Briony began saying she was busy today but would gladly go out tomorrow. "Tomorrow it is, I"ll have to find another date tonight then." She laughed, letting her eyes trail her fellow initiates in search of a target. Unexpectedly, but rather happily, she found her eyes settling on Rhys. Although they'd grown up in Dauntless together, she had never been close to him, and her interaction with him yesterday had been a rare but enjoyable experience. She had had a lot of fun with him, and he'd shown interest in hanging out more. Maybe she would ask him later if he wanted to go out and get drinks, or maybe she'd just go out and see who followed her, or who was there already. Hell she drank enough alone as it was that she didn't need someone else. There were plenty of eager men to drink with in bars for Aubrey to be satisfied. She didn't care if they touched or pushed or talked, she simply desired to drink, to dance, to play and to knock herself out. She was out of the desire to keep herself safe. She wanted to keep Charlie safe, she wanted to keep Ghost safe, she wanted to keep her mother safe, she wanted to find Finn. But if something happened to her? Honestly then she wouldn't need to do those things, and maybe that would be good.

The intrusive thoughts that darkened her mind caused a shiver to run up Aubrey's back and she began to run her hands through her hair, her fingers feeling like the icy bones of death. Stop thinking like that... You... You've never wished that on yourself. Drinking is just a hobby, your goal is to pass initiation... Even as she mentally spoke those words to herself, she felt the hesitancy, the unsurity, the way she stumbled through that thought like she wasn't sure of it's truth. Either way, it didn't matter, as Bloom began to speak, and finally showed them their rankings. Aubrey looked up on the monitor, though she didn't want to, and when she found her name her heart sank even more. She hadn't wanted to know how far she dropped. He eyes gazed up to Fable's name, and she felt a warmth of anger in her throat. Fable had won, but it had been a hair's breadth of a win. They should have got equal points, for all intents and purposes they had completed the same simulation at the same time. There were literal milliseconds of time between them. However, she checked the board to see who she was going against, even as Phillip spoke. Shayla. The name stood there clear as a bell, Aubrey stared with dead eyes as she felt an inner snap at the thought of having to interact with Shayla. Ever since Shayla had pushed her away, she had pushed away herself, immensely. She had ignored and avoided Shay like the plague, out of the pain it caused her to see her or be around her. The last time she had spoken to her had given her a full blown panic attack, and she had no desire to go through something so painful and embarrassing again. Yet, one part of her told her that this meant she had a decent chance at winning. As she gazed back over at Shayla, she noted how she didn't look so well. That would be advantageous to Aubrey, even as it would be cruel for her to have to watch her in that state. Aubrey sighed as they were told to go to their respective places. "Good luck Bri! I think you can beat Griffon!" She said with encouragement and a genuine smile and hug, before heading off towards Shay and the room that was set for them. She felt her legs dragging behind her as she walked, as if her body was trying to force her to stop. This was just training, she didn't have to interact with her as a friend or ex-friend, but just as a fellow initiate. But even as she neared her, she could feel her heart squeezing and her eyes watering. Clenching her jaw she blinked away the stupid tears that had sprung up, and forced her face to resolve into a more emotionless state. She walked straight past Shayla and into the room, listening as Shay followed after her and an instructor closed the door. Aubrey hopped into the seat easily, and she couldn't help but notice as Shay struggled into hers. Aubrey felt a lump in her throat as she watched her ex-best-friend in pain, but she steeled her features. Shay got on the chair finally and they readied themselves as the instructor came to help them. Aubrey was grateful that it was not Charlie, not wanting to interact with her either. She was surprised however, as she would expect Charlie to have wanted to go in with Shayla given her medical emergency the day before. As they put their heads back and let the serum flow into them, she heard someone say "Good luck" though did not know who it was. I don't need it. She told herself.

Her eyes flitted open, but she was in the same position as before. Lying on a chair with her head held back, yet... Aubrey tried to move, but all that was moving was her eyes. Immediately fear sprung up in her chest. Why was she unable to move? Was that a different serum? As she looked around it became abundantly clear that she was not still in the room, in fact as she took in the properties of the room, she found that it was a hospital room, or at least some kind like it. Her body seemed to be strapped into a chair against her will, but that was pointless anyway as she had no way of moving any body part yet. Her head throbbed with pain and her body ached even as it refused to move. It's just a simulation. She repeated to herself over and over, as her heart rate began to increase from the fear of the feeling of being paralyzed and trapped. She knew that she just needed to solve something, maybe she had to solve why she was here, or how to beat those who had trapped her here? Or maybe to endure without fear? She steeled herself at that thought. That's when she saw that one of the walls of the room, that she was staring at actually, was a window, and through that window she could see Shayla. At first it seemed like Shay was in the same state as her, paralyzed and trapped within a medical chair, but next thing Aubrey knew, Shay was getting up, someone was undoing the bonds on her chair and reading her something from a clipboard with papers. She looked confused, but as Aubrey watched her, without her own permission really as Aubrey had no choice on what her body was or wasn't doing, she watched as the doctor or person in a white coat led her to the window and sat her down on a chair so she could look through to Aubrey. Aubrey felt vulnerable as she sat there in the chair unmoving and unwilling. What was happening? How would she complete anything if she couldn't move? Aubrey tried to struggle but her body refused to work. She could see her heart monitor to the side of her bed, and it rose as she began to become more panicked. After seeing it rise she tried to calm herself, but she worried that if she couldn't figure this out fast enough then she wouldn't be able to pass. Plus, this feeling was terrifying. It almost didn't matter that she knew this was a simulation, it almost made it worse, because she knew there were still genuine consequences if she didn't beat Shayla. At the thought of her, she began to hear her voice and see that she and the doctor were speaking. At first she couldn't make out words and only tones, but as they got closer to the window she was able to hear them quite clearly. It seemed like Shayla and Aubrey were making eye contact, but Aubrey knew that she seemed either dead or paralyzed, as her body lay there with no mind of its own anymore. She tried to calm herself again as the fear crept upon her, and she tuned in to what was being said to Shayla. Why were they here and what was happening? How would she beat this simulation faster than Shayla, when she was paralyzed and Shay was out and free?

Thorn

Mood: Mixed

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Aya, Charlie, Mentions Aubrey

His interaction with Aubrey left Thorn with a torrent of emotions and thoughts raging within him. It was clear that the past week hadn’t been kind to her, not that it had been kind to him either. She looked thinner, had dark circles under her eyes, her hair and skin didn’t have the healthy appearance it once had. It wasn’t hard to see that everything piling on from Caspian’s death, to Finn’s disappearance, to the truth of Charlie’s situation had taken a toll on the young usually energetic blonde. Now Aubrey had the look of those souls one might see in the dark passageways of the Dauntless compound with a bottle of booze to cure their broken minds and hearts, or at least like she was on her way there. Thorn was very familiar with the sight due to where he had grown up and the people his father hang around, it was a path he hoped Aubrey would pull herself away from. His heart ached to help her, to do something that would matter enough to bring a little light into her life even if only for a moment; but then the crushing weight of his own hurt bared down on him and he felt trapped by the pain and loss he suffered. For a young man who wanted so badly to be able to be that light in the life of those around him this was torture for him. He hated feeling this way because it meant he wasn’t able to be there to care for those he wanted to support since he was barely keeping himself afloat.

Though Aubrey had parted ways from him after they entered the testing center he still couldn’t help but be caught up on her last few questions. He had of course agreed to joining her for a train ride at some point, sooner rather than later he hoped. The idea of just riding around on the last train car and letting the world pass them by sounded like the perfect get away to Thorn. He was never one to use substances to escape his pain, not after the way his father and uncle were with drugs and alcohol. So the idea of just using the scenery of their city and the path the tracks followed to escape reality sounded absolutely refreshing. Sure he could escape in his forge for hours or days as he had been doing the past week but that only helped him, this could help both of them. Aubrey had so much on her plate that just being away from it all might help her to clear her mind even just for a few hours, or at least that is what Thorn hoped for the young woman. She used to burst with such vibrant life and excitement, it pained him to see that drained from her. As he stood and waited for his name to be called for testing he thought back to how kind she had been to indulge him in his explanation of his sword. It was only then that Thorn realized he had failed to complete the commission he had taken on for Aubrey. He had spent so much time lost in the old memories and stories trying to hold onto his mother through this creation from her stories that he had completely forgotten about the favor he had agreed to. Having that dagger back with the engraving she had requested might help Aubrey even just a little bit and Thorn knew he wouldn’t feel right until he had made that up to her. Before the week was up he swore to himself that he would have the dagger completed for Aubrey so she could have that piece of a lost loved one with her once more. Perhaps he might even be able to go out and search for Finn too? He truly wanted to but over the past several days he hadn’t been able to bring himself out of his depression long enough to help anyone else, how horrible of him.

The dark haired freckled young man was pulled from his thoughts as the board lit up to show them who they would be facing in the trials on this day. He blinked and read the names with his good eye until he found his name across from Aya’s. Thorn hadn’t really had many interactions with the young woman before but hoped her defeat yesterday hadn’t been as horrible as his had. The test the day prior had messed with his mind too much despite him knowing the simulation was fake. It made him less than thrilled to dive into a new simulation today but he knew he had no choice. Walking over to stand near the young woman he gave her a nod but remained silent, not having the energy to talk at the moment. When Charlie approached the two of them he looked up at her and attempted a small smile but it didn’t reach his eyes. “Thank you Charlie.” He replied to her in a gentle voice as he settled into his testing chair and felt the pinch of the syringe in his arm before everything went black.

Aubrey and Griffon Nerdy. Nerdy.

Briony was looking at the board after having found out who she was going against, curious about the others. There was also the placement on the board she wasn’t in a bad position a bit lower than she really wanted though that could change. What mattered to her was that Blair and Finn could easily completely fall off of the board that wasn’t good. Her attention returns once more to Aubrey. “Oh yeah definitely. Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if all our drinks end up being free.”she said with a laugh like Aubrey trying to lighten the mood before they would have to start their testing. Then Aubrey brought up inviting Chris to join them, her gaze flicking towards her friend before over to where Chris stood with Shayla. A tinge of pink flickering over her cheeks maybe she wasn’t as subtle though then again Aubrey was her best friend. There was rarely a single thing that the two didn’t know about one another so it wasn’t that surprising. In all honesty Aubrey would be the most understanding of the situation since they both knew Chris was doing things a bit differently this time around. It was a good thing just like Chris had told her he needed to get better before continuing in a relationship. It also didn’t help with Blair missing at the moment but honestly that’s why they all needed a drink so she nodded.”Yeah I think that’s a good idea. We can all get some much needed drinks. I’ll message him tonight and see if tomorrow works for him as well.” She said before things were starting. She looked amused when Aubrey told her she could beat Griffon. “Of course I can and you’ll win as well.”she said, letting her gaze flick toward Shayla who was Aubrey’s opponent. Then the two of them split up each heading over to where they were needed as she was walking towards the chairs she heard footsteps approaching her. She glanced sideways seeing a tall brown haired male in a vest moving quickly over to her. This was Griffon from what she remembered. Then with his next words confirmed his identity.”No we’ve never met officially at least. Also correct I am Briony though any other day I might say it was a pleasure but not today.” She said, giving a small playful smirk. “I don’t know if you’ll be as pleased to meet me after I beat you in this test.” She said the confident Briony was going in full force today however she did reach her hand out to shake his in greeting and as a gesture of good luck.

It didn’t take long before she felt the needle pricking her skin, the real world fading away as new scenery took its place. She looked around feeling rather confused. It seemed to be a large open area, a field it would seem. Her gaze flicked towards Griffon seeing him near then that’s when she felt it the ground beneath her feet was beginning to shake. ‘A earthquake?’ She thought to herself before the sound finally reached her ears. Her eyes widened; it was a herd of cattle stampeding their way, their eyes crazed and dangerous. “Run!”she seemed to shout without giving it much thought. She took off looking for somewhere they could climb to get out of the way but why were these bulls so on edge. A trembling filled her body seeing what was pursuing the cattle, large jet black dogs their size massive as they snapped at the cows legs. A shot of fear pierced through her seeing the dogs looked just like the dog that had attacked her in childhood. This caused her to run even faster, eyes searching frantically for somewhere to escape onto. A tree wasn’t much further away. In her panic she had no idea where Griffon was any longer all she could think about was getting up and into the tree. At this time she was thankful for her athletic build plus with the spike of adrenaline coursing through her she hurtled herself up onto the tree using the bark to boost herself up until she could grab a limb of the tree to pull herself further up. The sound of dogs sounded closer through the cows, seeming to be thundering past; however some of the dogs were suddenly at the tree, their claws tearing the bark up as vicious growls sounded from them. These dogs weren’t like Honey who was sweet and soft even with Honey it was hard being near her. The rabid beasts below were pure nightmare fuel for Briony even if they were just regular dogs they seemed monstrous.

She closed her eyes tightly and gripped onto the tree branch clinging to it as she wished desperately for her brothers to save her like before. That seemed to trigger something within herself thinking of being saved by her brothers. Her eyes snapped open and she looked down towards the dogs who were still trying so desperately to get at her with their sharp snapping teeth. Briony looked over the tree then using her weight grabbed onto a branch above her and pulled until the branch snapped with a sharp crack. The branch was thick and sharp on one end from the jagged broken pieces a shaky breath left her as she looked once more at the dogs. Then taking a breath and clenching the branch in her hands tightly she leapt down out of the tree. The moment her feet touched the ground the dogs were on her but Briony was ready swinging with all her might the sound of connection sounded through the air. Then a thud as the stunned dog collapsed this only seemed to fuel the other two into a stronger rage as they converged on her. Briony watched as they started circling her taking turns to leap and snap testing her as she swung the branch barely missing. Her fear was being replaced with anger not just at the dogs but at herself why did she have to be so afraid of dogs. The fear of dogs had ruined so much for her the anger took over until she saw nothing but red. She lunged this time, taking the dog by surprise as the branch connected, sending it tumbling away. The third dog lunged and in her blind fury she met it head on the two fighting then before she knew it Briony stood there panting the dog laying on the ground as she took steady breaths to calm herself.

Randi

Mood: Complicated

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Rhys, Phillip, Honey

Walking over to the seats she and Rhys would be occupying during the days testing Randi couldn’t help but feel her stomach sink within her. This was the first test she would be taking where she was fully aware that she was divergent. Her mind raced with thoughts about what this would mean and how she would have to keep herself in check to ensure she wasn’t caught by doing something to manipulate the simulation. Beside her Rhys was settling into his chair and as she sat petting Honey who rested her adorable face on the blonde’s knee Randi could have sworn she saw some sort of new tattoo on the young man’s stomach. It had been a while since they had truly spoken or spent time together so she didn’t know how truly recent the body art was but it was new to her from what she could remember. She didn’t get a good look at what the art itself was but had seen a splash of warm hues like crimson and bright orange, colors she enjoyed. As her fingers worked their way through Honey’s fur and she gave the sweet pup a good ear rub Randi couldn’t help but wonder if she could let Rhys back into her life. He had lied to her, broken her trust, that wasn’t something she ever had been able to get over easily but now in comparison to Freight, she didn’t know how she felt. A lie was a lie and it was one of the things Randi hated most in the world, especially now that she knew her entire life had been filled with a jungle of lies. The thought caused the pretty yet badly beaten blonde to frown, the movement causing her lip to crack slightly from where it had been busted and she held back a wince. Glancing over as movement caught her eye Randi noticed that Rhy’s chiseled features were still as he had entered the simulation with the assistance of Phillip. “I’m fine, a little miffed that you bet against me but that’s nothing a lil’ Honey time won’t fix.” She joked with him knowing that despite how bad she looked she physically was overall fine and that she just had some stuff to work through with her thoughts and emotions. She was as fine as she thought she could be at a time like this which honestly surprised her. Phillip accepted her words, clearly knowing well that she wouldn’t lie to him, and helped her ease herself back into the chair before lifting the syringe to her flesh. “Try not to enjoy the show too much.” Randi purred in her classic playfully flirty manner before feeling a pinch and sinking into the depths of darkness.

All around her dim lights flickered and scattered along the walls were cracked and cobwebbed mirrors. Randi had a sinking feeling in her stomach once more as she recalled the last simulation she took part in that involved mirrors. It had been the simulation in which she faced her fear of growing old but not dying, just decaying and becoming a useless lump of fragile flesh and brittle bones. Death had mocked her in that simulation and as she looked back on the memory of it now the blonde began to wonder if her divergent abilities to manipulate the simulations had kicked in out of pure instinct back then. She swallowed, her throat dry and her mind was reeling with the reminder to not slip up and alter the simulation unnaturally. It was then that she heard a faint scuttling noise and she turned to look down one of the long cobweb-lined hallways. “Rhys?” She called out, her voice surprisingly calm but then again the only real thing that had mildly concerned her thus far was being aware of her divergent status this time around. Nothing came in response for a few seconds and Randi began to wonder if something had gone wrong and they hadn’t ended up in the simulation together somehow. Then the echo of a familiar voice rolled down the hallway and Randi began to move closer. It was as she began walking that the blonde noticed the subtle scuttling growing louder and closer. With her jade gaze alert, she watched the shadows and the path ahead of her for the source but saw nothing until the blinking of an unstable light finally cast its glow on a spider crawling towards her. “Spiders?” Her voice was soft and confused as she looked down at the small eight-legged creature. She had never been afraid of spiders, in fact, she found them rather cute, so she was left to believe that this must be part of Rhy’s fear.

The spider crawling towards her was still a good few feet away when suddenly it stopped and Randi thought it might try climbing the wall. Instead, the sleek black and blue arachnid pounced, flying through the air the last few feet and landed on Randi’s arm. Instantly she knew this wasn’t normal spider behavior and tried to shake the creature off only to feel a sting as it bit her. “Shit!” She gasped and swatted the creature away. Clutching her arm where the spider’s fangs had pierced her skin Randi felt the limb suddenly growing weaker and weaker and her heart pounded slightly. “Not this again!” She growled and looked down at her arm to see the skin growing thinner and speckled with darkening age spots. Her fingers looked like gnarled twigs and every bone felt like it might shatter if she flexed any which way. Swallowing nervously she looked around to see more of these spiders coming her way.

Cassidy "Cas" Wickham || 16 || Initiate || Erudite Transfer

When Ghost spoke, every inch of Cassidy's body sprang to alarm. The jump to attention and the call to alarm were immediate, suspicion and investigative thoughts sprung to her mind and she almost glared at who had spoken. Maybe it was the drugs that she had inhaled that had heightened her senses, and also lowered them, but when she saw Ghost there, she relaxed completely. When he had spoken she had thought it to be an almost inhuma n speech, coming across with strange tones, but now that she could see it was Ghost, though with a colourful aura that she'd never quite seen before, she was relieved. In her opinion, Ghost was harmless in this setting. She had no doubt that he was far from harmless, in fact if she was putting her money on any of the instructors to have a dark history or a dark present, she would bet all of her money on Ghost. Charlie was too easily seen as truly genuinely lovely, and although she had her suspicions of Bloom, she didn't think her to be as cunning and able to do evil as she supposed Ghost would be, similar to herself. Yet in this situation she couldn't imagine him doing anything, especially now that he was actually unemployed here. She had no fear of him. Thinking upon his remark, and delightfully watching the violet aura that spiralled around Ghost's face and body. She half smiled as he spoke, only one side of the mouth raising, and looked at him with her dark eyes watching closely. Ghost was intriguing, he always had been, and yet Cassidy had not had much time to get to know him, not like others had. She had spent most of her time devoted to making sure Griffon would make it through each day, each phase. Due to his excessive injuries from the car crash, and the unfortunate amnesia, he couldn't access the physical and mental prowess he once had. So Ghost had always been on Cassidy's list of people to get closer to, someone whom she deemed worthy of being allies with, yet she had not had the time, or the means. Now though, this was the second interaction she was having with him, and he had felt comfortable enough to approach her. A useful thought. "Well, black always was my colour." Cassidy said rather plainly, one eyebrow raising and a smirk lightly tugging at her lips. If he had meant the tattoo, she didn't acknowledge it, almost acting as if it didn't exist. He could judge her all he wanted for getting a tattoo, she had chosen her reasons and even if she regretted the experience, she enjoyed the sentiment and would suffer with joy.

She followed Ghost's gaze as he spoke about the newcomer. At the mention of dueling him she smiled. "Perhaps I will." She said, chuckling softly. Cassidy tilted her head as Ghost began to spread an array of rumours that he had apparently learned of this new person. Cassidy could not believe him from the minute he implied that this joyful, smiling, bubbly character of a person was able to kill someone unarmed, in such a brutal manner as Ghost had implied. Only at the end, on the mention that a larynx fell out, did Cassidy turn her head to him and raised an eyebrow yet again, trying to see if he had truly believed such things or if he was having her on. There was such likelihood that he was having her on that the other possibilities had become so small in percentage that Cassidy hardly thought of them. It didn't take long for Ghost to break character however, and Cassidy smiled in reply, shaking her head at the ridiculousness of what he had just said. "Did you make that all up? Or were you simply giving me your history?" She said, head tilting with feminine curiosity, but eyes twinkling with mischief. As she stood and spoke with Ghost, she felt much better, and her mind and physical feelings were coming back to her. Though, the physical feelings were not painful yet, only present. The tattoo on her shoulder didn't sting yet, or throb, but instead it just... felt. The migraine that she undoubtedly had, it made her head feel heavy, but yet it wasn't hurting yet. Cheglok that better not have been what I think it was... Cassidy thought to herself. She turned to Ghost fully, facing him with her arms having dropped so the one attached to the shoulder that was freshly tattooed was hanging loosely by her body, while her other hand was stuffed in a pocket. "I'm afraid I would have to make something up as extravagantly as you did, as I haven't had the pleasure or distaste of meeting him. However.." Cassidy scanned the room, and her eyes rested on Christian. "He seems to know a great many people. He also resembles similarity to Christian." She mentioned, leaving that particular statement in the air for Ghost to think about. If she were putting her bet on anything, she was imagining that he was Christian's older brother. They shared so many facial features that it was near impossible that they weren't related. Plus, from her own time in Dauntless she would have had to be blind and deaf to have not known that Chris was from a large family. Large and wealthy. She had done her research on Dauntless leadership. But not on their children. As far as she knew Jeremy had none, Obadiah had many, and the Avalons were another large clan-like family. As they spoke together, it seemed as if training was finally starting, as Bloom began to speak. "Well, I'm sorry I couldn't get you any more information, though if you ever wish to speak again, I'd oblige." She said, before heading closer to hear Bloom speak.

Cassidy felt a warm sense of pride as she looked up at the score board. Not only was she near the top, but she wasn't at the top. That had been her goal. Her ultimate goal had been to be near the middle, but after having seen how brutal initiation could be, she had strived to be at the lower end of the top. Being in third place was good, but she could drop lower. She knew she was versing Fable. If she lost to Fable, she would drop down significantly, without any fear of dropping out completely. Yes, if possible, she would lose to Fable. She looked at the two names who were on top of her. Randi and Rhys. That made a lot of sense to her, both people had grown up in Dauntless and seemed adept at both physical and mental situations. Given that they were versing each other today, it was likely to be very interesting. Cas listened as the new person began to speak, and she shot a look back at Ghost, or where he had been if he moved. So this man's name was Phillip? She couldn't tell whether she liked him or not. He seemed amicable, and was jovial in nature, and although that might be pleasant for some, it was strange for Cassidy, and she wasn't sure if it made her hugely uncomfortable or hugely suspicious. Either way, she needed to find out more about this person. Ghost had sparked enough interest with his false narrative. She couldn't imagine this person hurting a fly, let alone killing a man unarmed. As Phillip finished in speaking they were instructed to go to their respective rooms to be tested with another initiate. Cas walked briskly towards one that Fable was already close to. She smiled as warmly as she could to Fable, the other girl seemed almost sad, as if she didn't want to verse Cassidy. That made sense, Griffon would desire for them both to win, and either which way, one sister would win while one would lose. Yet, Cassidy would feel good knowing that she tried to lose. If she won, then she would feel ecstatic but worried, she wanted to remain middle ground, but if she lost, as desired, then she would lose her position and would drop to a position that nobody would blink an eye at. As they settled into their chairs, Cassidy spoke up. "No hard feelings at the end of this, okay? Don't want to make GriffGraff sad." She said, a smile on her lips. Fable nodded, obviously taking Cassidy's words to mean she thought she would win. Cassidy wanted Fable to think that she was being cocky, she knew Fable well enough at this point to know that Fable would try harder that way. She looked forward to watching it. As the instructor came over to "tuck them in", she happily closed her eyes, and thanked Cheglok in her brain as the needle merely felt like a bee sting rather than a sword as it pierced her neck.

Fable

Mood: Complicated

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Cas

This wasn’t the most ideal match up in Fable’s opinion. Not because of Cas’s skill which she was already well aware of but rather because Fable truly didn’t want to face Griffon’s other sister. She already had a sense that Cas only put up with her to make Griffon happy and worried that truly competing one on one against each other would somehow make it worse. According to the rankings they had just been shown moments before Cas was positioned much higher than her which meant she had faired far better in the simulations than Fable had in the past. If Cas won it would only improve her ranking and cast Fable dangerously down the list but if it was the other way around then Cas would face a similar decrease though not as bad. Either way Fable felt her heart crush a bit to be competing against someone she knew her brother cared for so greatly. Without a doubt, the flame-haired young woman knew she would still give it her absolute all but that didn’t guarantee a win, especially when she had just barely won the day before. Looking at the ranks and then the pairings for a few seconds longer Fable’s mismatched eyes finally ripped away long enough to lock onto Griffon who was wishing her luck before he departed to face his opponent. Fable reached over and gave him a hug, her arms wrapping around him and giving him an extra squeeze for good luck. “You’ve got this!” She assured him, her gaze shining with the faith she had in him as he walked off to find Briony.

A heartbeat or so later Fable spotted Cas making her way through the crowd towards the testing room to her right. She briefly locked eyes with the raven-haired young woman but soon their gaze parted ways as Cas entered the training room and Fable followed her in. Giving herself a solid boost into one of the chairs her mind raced slightly as she thought about how she could do this in a way that would least upset Griffon. Cas’s voice broke her thoughts and caused Fable to glance over at her opponent as she spoke. “Yeah, of course.” Her voice was nonchalant as she spoke, wanting to appear at ease to the best of her ability. Cas was right and Fable had already been thinking about it. She would do her best not to hold the win or loss against Cas and hoped the other girl did the same. There were times when she got the feeling Cas felt she was in some ways better than her and didn’t know if it was her own insecurities or not but did her best not to acknowledge or act on the feelings. “Good luck.” She added after a moment but received no response. A second later she felt the prick of the needle entering her skin and blinked once before sinking into the slumber brought on by the serum.

When her eyes opened Fable almost choked and stumbled back a bit as she found herself standing in a horribly familiar room. “No.” She gasped and immediately began internally chanting to herself that this was just a simulation and she was not actually back in her room in Abnegation. All around her, through the walls, out the window, and even in the room she could hear the sounds of people coughing. The coughs sounded horrible, as though the lungs were overworked and exhausted yet filled with illness. Movement on either side of her old room caught Fable’s eyes and she cautiously stepped forward as though she were afraid danger would leap out of nowhere and take its anger out on her. She could feel her back burning as the sights and smells brought back horrible memories only made more real by the tastes and colors that accompanied them. As she drew nearer to the two figures she noticed one was Cas who looked incredibly ill and the other…her heart dropped. The other was Griffon, her beloved adoptive brother who had kept her sain in the years leading up to now and who she cared for more than anyone else in the world. Griffon looked as pale as death, his skin was covered in sweat yet he was weakly shivering and his body spasmed with violent coughs. “Griffon!” She rushed forward, wanting to help him in any way she possibly could. It was as she reached him that the door to her bedroom flung open and Fable’s eyes widened as her mother and father came barging in. She did her best to control her heart rate as she locked eyes on the faces of the two people she never wanted to see again. She knew this was a simulation and she knew she needed to calm down and figure her way out of it, she needed to find the answer. Holding Griffon in her arms she positioned herself protectively between him and her parents, her gaze flashing over to Cas to see if the other girl was in any better shape.

Nerdy. Nerdy.

Ghost // Male // Age 18 // Officially Unemployed // Erudite to Dauntless

As glee glimmered in Cassidy’s eyes, Ghost fabricated an expression of supreme innocence in response to her suggestion. “Rip someone’s throat out with my bare teeth? Me?” He pressed a hand to his chest in a melodramatic flair. “Of course not. Can you imagine the mess that would make, the clothes that would be ruined? That’s why knives were invented.” As if the word were a spell, a butterfly knife appeared in Ghost’s other hand, dancing across his knuckles and between his fingers in a daring display of dexterity. The blade was metallic purple, the full luster of the color not revealing itself until bathed in light, and the twin handles curved in a sinuous slope like a dragon’s winding body. With a final flourish that involved flipping the blade up into the air and catching it one-handed, Ghost tucked away the butterfly knife, vanishing it up one sleeve as quickly as it had appeared.
He met Cassidy’s cedar gaze with a shameless smile plastered across his face. “And I can juggle with them, too. Impractical, but an excellent party trick.” Ghost thought back to his sparring match with Cassidy yesterday, how she’d been practicing alone with the shabby house equipment before he’d challenged her. “You don’t have your own knife yet, do you?” he remarked. The words themselves were a question, but he phrased it like an observation, with little room for doubt. No one would use unpolished, flaking weapons when they had their own stuff. “Tell you what. Win your match today, and we’ll see about getting you one. Talent like yours deserves a step up from a prison shank.”
Rather than light up at the prospect of winning a free knife, the corners of Cassidy’s lips flickered, but otherwise her expression remained largely unchanged. For the first time, Ghost noticed that her eyelids were drooping, hovering just over the tops of her pupils. Her blinks were slow and syrupy. And her shoulders, which had been tensed up around her ears during their fight yesterday, dangled at limp, obtuse angles. Perhaps the only reason Ghost noticed her lethargy was due to this being one of only a few instances in the past few days in which he was completely sober. Jealousy coursed through him, but even more prominent than that, a keen, needling interest. This being only his second real conversation with Cassidy, he wasn’t surprised to find that she was possibly a junkie because he had no expectations of her behavior, but curiosity burned through him. Perhaps he wouldn’t give Cassidy a knife for free, but in exchange for a free sample.
An elaborate clearing of the throat preceded Bloom’s trumpeting voice, calling the initiates to attention. A flash of genuine regret went through Ghost. He was enjoying his exchange with Cassidy. Talking with her didn’t feel too different from fighting her: a constant battle for balance, parrying thrusts before advancing one of his own. He’d almost forgotten that his initial reason for approaching her was to pick her brain about the new instructor. As Cassidy offered to find more information as a way of bidding him farewell, Ghost shook his head, gently but firmly declining her proposal. “I don’t wanna talk about him next time. I’d rather talk about you.” Cassidy had just brushed past him, but at those words she froze and darted an uncharacteristically uncertain glance over her shoulder. His mouth twitched up into a delinquent smile, Ghost winked and swung around before she could respond, slinking off in another direction, his blood singing something delicious from such a straightforward invitation.
He hung back behind the initiates while Bloom gave her address, until finally the tall, Amity-born instructor noticed Ghost restlessly bouncing from foot to foot at the back of the crowd. His smile widened as Bloom scowled at him. Her instructions were brief and to the point, and barely a minute later the initiates were dispersing to their respective testing rooms. Although it was only the second day of fearscapes, they knew what to expect so late in the game. Bloom’s puzzled expression remained locked on Ghost as he came forward, moving contrary to the stream of initiates. “And where’s my matchup for the day, boss? Do I get to compete against you?” Bloom seemed at a loss of words, as if she were uncertain whether Ghost’s question was meant in earnest, so he naturally paused the rest of what he had to say to measure her reaction. Testing people never got old, and Ghost didn’t know Bloom well enough yet to predict what she’d do next. Despite the irony of having been fired yesterday, Ghost decided now was as good a time as ever to start learning her habits.

Aya.

Aya had enjoyed walking with Griffon and Fable, their conversation going easily enough as they headed to the training center. She couldn’t help but feel a bit of worry for Cas hoping that everything was ok with her. Her thoughts remained on the female for a moment before Fable’s voice brought her back to the conversation. She had said something about Chris and if it was ok for him to join them Griffon quickly answered that it would be fine. Aya nodded, not seeing a problem with it. She didn’t really know Chris that well but this could be an opportunity to know him. However something else caught her gaze as they looked towards the board showing all of their current rankings and who they would be going up against. She saw Fable was going up against Cas that was gonna be rough. The two females were rather capable plus they shared common interests. Her gaze flicked towards Griffon wondering what his thoughts on this matter would be since these two ladies were both his sisters. This led her to wonder who Griffon would go against so she looked back towards the board seeing the name Briony next to his name. If she remembered correctly Briony was the other blonde standing next to Aubrey a bit of worry ran through her Briony certainly seemed like a confident one. However she has deep faith in Griffon no matter the outcome she would be there for him so she reached over giving his hand a little squeeze. “Good luck.” She said softly before they all had to part ways. Aya had seen her own name next to someone called Thorn who she knew what he looked like but didn’t know much about him. When she saw him heading towards a set of the chairs she quickly followed sitting down in her own chair. She gave him a slight nod back as they both got ready for the testing to begin. The feeling of a soft pinch was the last thing she remembered.

Her eyes opened slowly, the feeling of cold air against her skin had her looking around then she gasped. They were standing on a cliff then below that cliff were huge bodies of water nothing else seemed to be around. It was like they were trapped up at extreme heights with only a deep body of water surrounding them. The thought of having to go into the water had her stomach churning the look upon Thorns face and him moving back to be as close to the middle of the small cliff they were on had her realizing his fear must be heights. This definitely wasn’t a fun situation, not quite sure how either of them would face their fears like this. She needed to think to try and not let the fear consume her. The sounds of the water hitting the cliff sent a shiver down her spine. It would be so easy to drown in water like that there wasn’t anything that could help stay a float there was also no telling what lurked beneath the surface. She bit her lip feeling the fear spike through her again like a shot of espresso. This wasn’t good. Aya wanted to win today, she didn’t want to keep losing. If that happened she might fall too low and end up factionless. The thought had her mind clearing some more enough to hear an odd sound; it wasn't coming from the water or Thorn but somewhere else. It was still too far away to tell what it was however it seemed to be getting closer as the sound continued getting a little louder over time.

Bloom

Mood: Mixed

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Ghost, Mentions: Charlie, Phillip, Honey

Since arriving at the testing center Bloom had already experienced a rollercoaster of emotions that she doubted would ease up at any point in the near future. She had been delighted to spend the morning with Phillip and Honey, eating, joking, recounting stories from their shared past. Though she had only been in Dauntless for a few years she truthfully didn’t think she could imagine life without the two of them at this point, the same going for Charlie. She had been so elated that her friend had shared what had happened the night before with her, her pride in how far Charlie had come felt like it might burn through her. Bloom was one of those people that truly wanted to believe happy endings could be possible, not that they happened for everyone. More than she wanted her own happy ending Bloom had come to truly desire her friends to find their happiness. She desired for Phillip to never lose his spark and for Charlie to reclaim her life. It wasn’t a completely selfless desire though because Bloom knew that in order for her to find her own happiness she needed to make sure the people she cared about were happy first. The brunette stayed awake many nights thinking about how she had failed to do so for her own blood but prayed to anyone listening that she wouldn’t fail her chosen family in the same way. Along with these prayers she pleaded to one day find out what had happened to her brother, Sage, and if he was still alive to get to see him again. Few people in Dauntless knew anything about her family, but then again no one had really cared to know them in Amity so it wasn’t that surprising that they lived on only in Bloom and possibly her brother. Charlie, Phillip, Honey, Aubrey, they would never replace the people she lost but Bloom never expected them to, they were her chosen family, the people she wanted in her life for as long as she might live. Of course she would want to see them happy, of course their happiness would lead to her own.

Bloom’s gaze was steady and focused on the screen before her as her fingers rapidly typed the commands for the simulations she was in charge of monitoring. As she watched the scene unfolding before her and clicked different notes and codes into the computer she couldn’t help but look up with an uninterested glance as Ghost strolled over to her and began to chatter like a little bird. She didn’t dislike Ghost, in fact he had greatly grown in favor with her due to how happy he seemed to make Charlie, but what she did dislike was being taken away from her job. Ghost and his never ending need for attention seemed determined to draw her focus away from her task so Bloom pressed a button to save her report thus far as well as the time in the simulation so she could go back to look at it later. The system was already set to make its own recordings, document its own findings, and rank the initiates based off of the result so it wasn’t like she was messing anything up by stepping away to address the slender young man. “Compete against me?” Bloom echoed him, her perfectly sculpted dark brown rising in what seemed to be amusement. “Why Ghost, I didn’t know you were such a glutton for pain.” She replied with a smirk as she crossed her arms and looked at him with striking confidence. She didn’t truly have any intention of entering a simulation with the dark haired male but she didn’t mind entertaining him with some friendly banter while they waited for the initiates to finish their trials. The usually bubbly female now had a glint in her mint green gaze as she momentarily thought back to her own initiation and how her competitive nature had rocketed her through the ranks. No one had expected an initiate from Amity to rise to the top of the board during her initiation and Bloom still remembered the rush of each victory and loss that got her there.

Her smirk evolved into a full smile as the competitive edge gave way to her usual warm nature and she looked Ghost over. “So what brings you by?” She inquired knowing the higher ups wouldn’t be overly thrilled that Ghost was now loitering in the testing center during an examination. Bloom didn’t really give too much of a damn about it though because up until yesterday Ghost had every right to be here. “Just emptying out your office or did you just miss the kids so much you had to check in on them?” She continued, her voice clearly indicating that she was joking and figured he was there for any variety of reasons that she didn’t really expect him to share with her. “I saw you talking with Phillip.” She added, her head tilting as she watched him closely. “I think he’ll be good for the initiation, I think you two would have worked well together.” Bloom sighed and felt enraged again that Ghost had been let go so suddenly when he had been doing so well with the initiates.

Griffon || 18 17 || Initiate || Abnegation Transfer

Griffon smiled happily to Fable, squeezing her tightly in farewell. "I hope your simulation isn't terrible." He said in way of hopeful encouragement. He loved Fable and Cas, and knowing they were versing each other was sad, he knew that one of his sisters would lose points while the other would gain them. From what he could see on the board, it was possible that if Fable won she would overtake Cas. How he wished they could both win. Yet... something felt within him like all was not lost. They were so high up that even losing would not cause much fall in the ranks. He wasn't too worried either, about them having anger for each other afterwards. He knew Cas tolerated Fable for his sake, not that she disliked Fable at all, but simply because she showed little interest in other people (in terms of relationships). He turned back to Briony and nodded to her friendly words, smiling at her confident and competitive spirit. He would give it his all, even if Briony seemed much more equipped than him. Sitting down and allowing the trainer to inject them, Griffon sat back comfortably and closed his eyes to allow the simulation to take place.
Waking up was easier now that they knew these were simulations. It had always been hard to wake up thinking it was real life and finding out later it was not. This time it was simple, he had always envied Cassidy for her ability to know. She had told him that knowing it was a simulation gave the ability to reduce the fear drastically, although not entirely. Yesterday's test had been Charlie's fear, rather than his own, and he had not been afraid of it anyway. Today would be different, today was his fear and Briony's fear, and it might be terrifying, it should be. At those thoughts, as he looked along the wide empty plains that he and Briony seemed to be standing in, he could see in the distance was buildings, so... if he had to make a guess he guessed they were in the fields of Amity. Thus they could be anywhere around the city. Plus, he wouldn't be able to figure it out by looking anyway, as there was no way he would recognize the buildings from this far, or if he were close. Shaking his head, he began to take in all directions, and that's when he felt the earth begin to shake. Having the same thoughts as Briony but not knowing this, he tried to brace his legs better for what he thought was an earthquake, until he became aware of the sound of stomping feet. His heart began to keep in beat to these stomping feet, rising and beating quickly to the stampede that was making it's way abnormally fast towards them. Griffon was grateful for one thing, as he saw the cattle coming towards them, he was grateful it was only cattle. At Briony's command, he began to run, although they were not close to each other so were not running together. The cattle were quick, there large legs and hooves barreling across the ground at insane speeds and strength, and Griffon was running as fast as he possibly could. He hated stampedes, and yes he was terrified of them, although he'd never experienced one with cattle before. He had seen cattle, and had always feared a stampede from them, but had never had them stampeding towards him. But as they got closer the fear spiked higher and higher. That's when he heard them. Barking. Dogs. Now Griffon was much more terrified of dogs than he was stampedes. As if having forgotten, a memory spiked in his brain and he stumbled in his footing. The stumble was near fatal, as the stampede finally caught up to him, and he curled up into a ball. He had no fear of being hurt, as his body could take every hit and he could not perceive it. Especially since he knew his body wasn't even really taking damage, since it was a simulation. Nevertheless as he curled there and let the stampede go overtop of him, he grinded his teeth together and his hands curled so tightly in his hair he was worried he would pull it out.

Finally the stampede seemed to finish past him, and he immediately jumped up, arms ready to defend himself against the dogs. But it seemed they had been distracted, and he saw Briony fighting them by a tree. His eyes bulged as he looked at them, large, black and ferocious, their mouth's frothing and snapping at Briony. She seemed to be doing well, but Griffon wondered for how long. So far the simulation had gone quickly, but he doubted that would be the end of it. Usually the simulations lasted a lot longer than this. He wondered what Briony's fear was, his was both stampedes and dogs, so what was hers? Was there another fear coming? Or did they share a fear? From the way the dogs targeted her, Griffon wondered if it was her fear of dogs that had come into this. As he began jogging towards her, mindful to keep out of the line of sight of the few dogs that remained alive, he felt dread fill up within him as he felt the earth shaking and moving again. From where the cattle's stampeding had finished, at the city's border, they seemed to have turned around and started making their way back here. Griffon clenched his jaw as he began to spring towards Briony. So surviving the stampede wasn't good enough then. Maybe... getting out of their way? Given that the city was so far away, he couldn't imagine that was the plan, thus the tree that Briony had climbed up to begin with would be an excellent choice. As Griffon neared them, the last dog that Briony was fighting suddenly turned, and leapt at Griffon without warning. Griffon yelled in surprise, his arm coming up to protect his face as the dogs frothing jaw encased his arm. Feeling nothing but the physical touch, he watched as his arm almost shrunk, and blood began to spurt out. He brought his other hand down onto the dogs head in a firm punch, watching as the dogs eyes rolled back and Briony hit it a few times with her stick for good measure. Taking little thought to his arm, Griffon shivered at the sight of so many dead dogs and pointed to the tree. "We should get back up there. Here, let me give you a hoist." He offered, having to raise his voice as the stampede was causing it to become difficult to hear one another. Helping Briony into the tree, he climbed up after her, and they made their way up as high and safely as they could be. Griffon felt slightly light headed and he wondered if that was from the fear, or the blood loss. "Does blood loss in a simulation do anything?" He asked as they both looked at his arm which was still bleeding. Before Briony could answer, they both were suddenly shaken in the tree, and nearly falling they only barely managed to stay in it. The stampede had reached them, and this time seemed to be going nowhere. In fact the stampede seemed to exist forever, and the tree was quickly starting to break. It was an audible breaking noise, and Griffon could see the foundation starting to wobble. "We have to jump!" He suggested to Briony, and before he could see if she was going to copy him, he leapt into the stampede, aiming for one of the cattle that seemed large enough to ride. Gripping onto it's horns and squeezing his legs together, he pulled his body onto the cow and held on. If he could get to the city he could be safe. He just needed to hold on till then.

He had lost Briony. He had no idea if she was on a cattle as he was, whether she had fallen or whether she had found another escape. However, he could see that the tree had fallen down. Plus, the sound of dogs barking was even more evident, in fact if he looked down, a struggle to do without fear inducing heart palpitations, he saw big black dogs running at the feet of the cattle, yipping and yapping, snapping up at his feet. More than once it grabbed hold of his shoe and he had to kick out at it. He really hoped this plan would work. He could see the city coming into view, but as they were about 100 to 200 feet away from the city the cattle made a sharp move, and Griffon was thrown through the air. The time in the air seemed like forever. Griffon felt like it would have been nice, if he couldn't see the ground racing up to meet him. Landing with a large painless thud, he felt his chest heave as he struggled to breathe. Having to take some moments to stand there bent over and heaving he saw Briony out of the corner of his eye. He couldn't tell whether she was in better or worse shape than him, but what he could tell is that they were both the same distance from the city, and the stampede was making its way back. Though, as Griffon turned to look at the stampede, he felt like his eyes were deceiving him, because it looked like a stampede of cattle sized dogs. Adrenaline began to pump through Griffon's body as he stopped his heaving and wheezing and began to run. Ignoging Briony out of pure necessity, he let his feet thunder on the ground beneath him. Some smaller dogs began to come ahead of the bunch, and he felt as they snapped at his heel. Steeling himself as best he could, he hit at them as he ran, never stopping longer than to kick one off his leg or foot. All he had to do, he hoped, was outrun Briony. He didn't know if he could do that. She had grown up in Dauntless, and he had... well.. grown up in Abnegation? Factionless? He'd grown up factionless for longer, but he couldn't remember any of it. Had he done a lot of running? He didn't think so, Cassidy had never mentioned it. Rather, he felt like he had done a lot of self-defense and protection. He was good at that. He looked up from where he was running, only 50 feet left, although... He swear he could feel the breath of the dogs behind him on his neck. He shut his eyes as he let his legs hammer on.

Shayla

Mood: Determined

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Aubrey

Though her physical appearance wasn’t improved much by the Lull in her system Shayla felt better than she had in a long time. Exiting the bathroom she carefully made her way towards the testing area, glancing up at the board and spotting Aubrey’s name beside hers. For a moment Shay was simply stunned by the fact that she would be stuck in such situation with Aubrey. It was ironic that the person she had shoved away and iced out would now be sharing fears with her. They would likely be seeing each other in the worst light and Shay couldn’t help but wonder if Aubrey was looking forward to it. She knew Aubrey hated her and Shayla didn’t blame the girl one bit. Shay had become an awful person to get Aubrey to leave her alone but she did it so that she wouldn’t cause her former best friend worse pain further down the road. Turning away from the board Shay approached the seat meant for her in her testing room and felt the world shimmering around her, an effect of the drug but not a bad one. If someone spoke to her while she was being put under the serum she didn’t catch it. Just barely feeling the pinch of the needle Shay blinked once, twice, then was out like a light.

When she opened her eyes Shay found herself propped up in a chair with what looked to be nurses unstrapping her. Icey blue eyes blinked in confusion and she looked around clearly wondering what was meant to be scary about this situation. Shay had stopped being afraid of doctors long ago after all the treatments and procedures she had undergone in her father's attempts to save her life. Being in a lab was nothing and she wouldn’t have pegged Aubrey for being afraid of something like this. It wasn’t until she began thinking about her condition that the dark-haired young woman realized she didn’t feel pain in her head at all. For the first time in years, Shay felt perfectly healthy if not a little dazed. Beside her, a man dressed in white was holding a chart and had been speaking to her. “I…I’m sorry.” She interrupted and looked confused. “What happened? Where am I?” She asked and looked past the nurses who were not departing the room to a window that showed another figure on the other side. “Aubrey.” She breathed and shot to her feet with no issues, something she often struggled with.

“Ah yes, Aubrey Stark.” The doctor nodded and walked over to the window with Shay. “The procedure-” He began but was cut off by Shayla whirling around to look at him.

“Procedure? What procedure? Why isn’t she moving?” Shayla demanded, her worry rising as she looked back at the blonde who had still yet to move a muscle in the bed she lay in. She was well aware that this was just a simulation and that none of it was real but still seeing Aubrey like this had her heart pounding in her chest. While Aubrey might not care for her at this point Shayla still cared for Aubrey deeply and had been keeping an eye on her over the past week or so, doing her best to protect her from afar.

The doctor cleared his throat and shifted his clipboard for Shayla to see. “The procedure to move your tumor into a new host, Aubrey Stark. It went without any problems and as you can see the results are just as promised.” He explained and Shay felt her blood run cold with every word that came from the doctor's mouth.

“I…I don’t want that!” She stuttered and looked at Aubrey who had still yet to move. “I would never want that! Why the hell would you do this? She doesn’t deserve this!” Shayla demanded, her voice rising as she looked around for a door that would lead to Aubrey’s room.

Holding the clipboard out again the doctor pointed to a signature at the bottom of the form. “You specifically requested this. We have transferred the tumor to Aubrey, she will die and you will live.” He explained matter of factly.

“No!” Shayla growled and pushed the doctor away from her. “I didn’t do that! I would NEVER put her or anyone else through something like that!” She protested and banged on the glass as she saw no door leading to Aubrey’s room. She wanted to get some sort of response out of the blonde, to see her flinch or get up, to know her former best friend wasn’t dead. “GET THAT THING OUT OF HER HEAD! SHE CAN’T DIE! NOT LIKE THIS!” Shay screamed as the doctor continued to repeat that she had asked for this exact procedure and insisted that this was something she wanted. “I DON’T WANT THIS!” Shay’s voice rang as she grabbed a chair and threw it at the window.

“Oh dear Ms. Darkholme, it seems you have forgotten. Don’t worry we will remind you.” The doctor’s words were calm as a fleet of nurses came rushing in and swarmed Shayla. Despite how hard she fought Shayla was vastly outnumbered and in a few minutes she was strapped up in a straight jacket and fighting to break free. “We will fix you.” The doctor promised with an eerie calmness.

“Screw you!” Shayla spat at him and tried to headbutt him as she struggled to throw herself towards the window that lead to Aubrey. She kicked out at the doctor angrily and continued to do so as she was forced into a chair with monitors around her that displayed footage of her consulting a professional about the removal of her tumor and the procedure that took place to put it in Aubrey. “This isn’t me! I didn’t do this!” She protested and knew that this was meant to break her mentally. “I WON’T LET HER TAKE MY PLACE!” She shouted over the droning voice of the doctor and the videos. She was doing everything she could to control her heart rate and keep fighting. She would either have to fight her way out of this or go out on her own terms.

Nerdy. Nerdy.

Ghost // Male // Age 18 // Officially Unemployed // Erudite to Dauntless

Bloom tilted her head back and looked down her nose at Ghost, her gaze sharp and calculating, as if he were a haunch of roast meat she was prepared to carve. He got the distinct feeling that he was infringing on something, but unlike Harper, Bloom was too polite to tell him so, and despite that, his presence wasn’t entirely unwelcome. Just mostly. Which was good enough for Ghost. There was a wry bite to Bloom’s words and her voice was like sweet poison, the sugar soaking up the taste of something lethal. Ghost reigned in a smile. Oh, he’d enjoy playing with her. He leaned in close to Bloom, his words low, conspiratorial. “Well then, Charlie clearly told you nothing of the sorts of activities we get up to together. But I'm not the only one who likes pain.”
Ghost scrutinized her closely, and sure enough, there it was—a slight tightening of the skin around her eyes, lips that parted a hairsbreadth. He wasn’t sure which was the bigger source of surprise for Bloom: the specific activities he’d alluded to, or the indirect admission that he was indeed fooling around with Charlie. But fool around as he might, Ghost wasn’t a fool—usually. Over the past week of initiation, he’d caught on to Bloom and Charlie’s tendency to gossip like old crones with too much time on their hands, and figured he wasn’t revealing anything to Bloom that she didn’t already know. “I’d tell you more, but I wouldn’t want to risk scandalizing your sweet ears, lovely.” A smug slant tugged at his lips, and he punctuated the taunt with a wink.
It was a gamble, but rather than grow bitter at his teasing, Bloom seemed to warm in response. Another test passed. Ghost preferred not to waste his time on people who couldn’t take a joke. “Oh, I didn’t stop over because I missed the kids,” he crooned, not quite ready to transition into straightforward small talk. He was having far too much fun needling Bloom. “I came by to smell the sweet flowers your garden has to offer, Vernal Equinox. Your springtime allure is simply irresistible.” At that, Bloom’s eyes fastened on him, raking over Ghost like a steel-toothed comb. He wasn’t sure whether that look was a warning that he’d gone too far, or just Bloom inspecting the authenticity of his words. “Ah, please forgive me if I’m pushing your limits; you see, I’m used to being the butt of many name jokes. It feels good for the shoe to be on the other foot, for once.”
Deciding that an honest answer made for a good peace offering, Ghost said, “Yeah, I came by to clear out my office… but didn’t remember to bring boxes to pack up my stuff until I was already here.” He smiled sheepishly at the embarrassing truth. “I also chose to make a convenient appearance at this time to lend a hand if you need it. Unlike leadership, I didn’t want to just hang you out to dry on your first day as head instructor.” A mischievous shimmer appeared in Bloom’s seafoam eyes as she commented on how she hadn’t known Ghost was capable of altruism. “I choose to believe that my random acts of kindness catch others off guard because they are indeed random, and not because they are kind.” Despite her joke being at his expense, it pleased Ghost to know that Bloom was still comfortable enough to banter with him. Meaning that his earlier gibe hadn’t been a serious offense. “Altruistic is my middle name, says so on my birth certificate. And Sonuvabitch is my last name.” Seeing his grin reflected on Bloom’s face infused Ghost with an addictive twinge of warmth, like a pinch of lull had just hit his system.
“Oh, is that his name, Phillip?” Ghost tried to pass off the spite he felt at the change of topic as mild disinterest. He’d rather discuss Bloom than the snarky prick who’d tried to one-up him with a gambling proposition. That, and Bloom referred to Ghost's termination of employment with a grim note that bordered dangerously close to pity. Whatever it was, it tied his stomach in knots and made him feel like he was being slow-cooked inside his own skin. “Maybe I would have and maybe I wouldn’t have,” he said with an insouciant shrug. “But now what matters is that you work well with him. Besides. According to you I lack altruism, in which case it’s a reasonable conclusion that I work better against other people rather than with them. Keep your enemies closer, and whatnot.” He smiled at Bloom slit-eyed as a question occurred to him, purring it like a cat beside a fireplace. “Do you have many of those yourself—enemies? What does it take to make a foe of you, Blossom darling?”

Rhysand(Rhys).

Rhysand had begun moving away from the spiders advancing on him. He felt annoyed knowing they were fake but his body was still reacting as if the spiders were really after him. He kept moving out of the way searching for something to help take on the spiders, his gaze landing upon a baseball bat that would work. Any time some of the larger spiders got closer he took a swing smashing their bodies into a paste while still searching for a door or window out of here. As he continued he suddenly started feeling slower had one of the spiders bitten him injecting him with poison or something? He wondered then looked down seeing his body changing and his skin beginning to wrinkle? That’s when it hit him he remembered that Randi had a fear of growing old and feeble; this must be her fear going through the simulation now. It certainly wasn’t making things easier for him; he had no qualms about growing old; it happened to everyone who was lucky enough. However it was certainly not making moving about any easier as his body seemed to be trying to fail him. That’s when he felt a sudden burst of pain shoot through his head no this couldn’t be happening now. It wasn’t Rafe pushing through it was Rain which wouldn’t be good he was too soft for simulations. Rhysand gripped his head trying to calm himself to shove back at Rain keeping him back however this only made his head hurt more he felt sick. Then with a pained gasp his eyes dulled he stood there looking completely blank at first.

He seemed to finally twitch back to life, his face that had been frozen in an expressionless state suddenly full of emotion. Rain blinked looking around then pure fear shot through him seeing all the spiders. He began scrambling backwards seeing all the creeping beats scurrying towards him on their eight legs. What in the world had Rhysand gotten them into this it flickered in his mind this must be one of the testing happening. That was a bit of a relief however the fear still spiked through him causing his heart rate to rise even further. His gaze looked around like Rhysand had been doing before searching for a way out of the room. His body twitched and jumped some as he felt the hairy bodies of the spiders suddenly upon him. Rain wasn’t like Rhysand or Rafe; he didn't handle fearful situations well. He was a bit of a crybaby, actually the more childlike version of Rhysand or more similar to being the inner child version of him. He began trying to shake the dreadful beasts off of him panic causing his lungs to hurt as he began breathing irrationally as fear set in fully.

Christian Parks || 16 || Initiate || Dauntlessborn

The sight that Christian walked in on was unpleasant and chilled him to the core. Like a familiar song that you were starting to remember the lyrics of, he apprehensively entered into the familiar office of Dr Munro. It seemed he was not the first to arrive. From his position, he watched as Vex turned her head to him, and he noticed that she crouched over a body. From the look of the coat and the place they were in, it wasn't hard to understand that it was meant to be Dr Munro's body. Chills tickled up and down Christian's spine as he imagined this as reality, and he knew that if this happened in real life he was doomed, but it was all too easy to remain calm, as he knew this was only a simulation. Thus, it wasn't hard to realize that Vex was also calm, her eyes gazing at him and investigating his appearance, although no animosity or anger came about in her eyes. That was when Christian looked at his own appearance and was shocked at the sight. Blood dripped off his fists and splattered upon his clothes, his knuckles were red from blood and from the raw skin that was peeling due to the intense punches he must have been doing. His body felt jacked and yet exhausted at the same time, like he'd just gone for a run after having drugs. His arm stung just enough for him to figure out that at least in the simulation he had just had something injected into him. What the hell... He thought to himself as he began to back up, trying to figure out what had just happened. Simulations could give you false memories, but he wasn't getting any that let him know what had happened. Surely... surely he had fought of an intruder, yet he must have failed. That was a fear of his, maybe... It couldn't be that he had killed Dr Munro, he didn't want to imagine that thought, nor did he want that to be a reality. Vex stood, and looked at him, and Christian figured she must be trying to figure out the same thing, she must be trying to understand the problem in the simulation and the right course of action to take in order to get out, to win. Christian steeled himself. This was fake, and he believed he might be able to win. Christian was a remarkably unphased type of person and could often be in situations of intense fear with little to no emotion. Although he had always been known to be an angry person, a fearful person had never been a personality trait of his. It was foreign to him. He feared very few things and even fewer of those things were ones that possibly paralyzed him, the only one he could recall being when he hit Blair. A small position difference in Vex's body alerted Christian, and he immediately tensed his body as if for defensive fighting. "Look Vex, I have no idea why I'm covered in blood." He said, his voice calm but with enough emotion to show that he didn't actually want to fight. He was growing to really like Vex and didn't want to fight her, even in a simulation.

The stand still between them was like heartbeats, and Christian could see the literal cogs within Vex's brain as she was trying to decide whether it was the right path to fight Christian or not. Thus, he remained on the defensive. It seemed like neither would move, but eventually Vex made a step towards Christian and he made a defensive step back, straight back into the arms of a Dauntless officer as the shouts of guards and security began pouring in and he was grappled by two large officers. "What the hell?" Chris yelled as he was pulled to the side and thrown up against a wall. He knew he could fight back, but he was unsure as to why they were here or what they were doing. As he was pat down and pinned by two men, Vex was being spoken to by the other men. There were 8 in total. Two held Christian to the wall, two stood down the hall (Christian could see them) one was speaking to Vex, another was taking down notes, and the last two were examining and covering Dr Munro's body. "Can someone explain to me what's going on?" Christian growled as he struggled lightly against the two men. "You are being arrested for the murder of the good doctor." They said very matter-of-factly. Christian stood there shocked, and if Vex was shocked she didn't look it. "You must be mistaken!" He said. The very thought of killing Dr Munro far from his mind. He looked over at the dead body and then down at his bloody body and realized the likelihood that it was true. They sighed and one brought out a screen, showing the footage of what had happened. Christian watched in horror as he saw himself be injected with something, then go crazy, and killing Dr Munro (who's face could still not be seen in the footage due to the angle and poor quality) and punch him until he was in the state that he now laid in, then Christian in the video ran away. Christian stopped struggling as he tried to figure out what he was meant to do. He couldn't deny the video, he couldn't tell the simulation that it was a simulation. He didn't think submitting to them would be the answer, nor did he think trying to explain that he was obviously drugged/tested upon would do. So the only option he could think of? Escape. As he finally came to this conclusion, he could hear the officer speaking to Vex and telling her that due to her inability to protect the Dr, she would be kicked out of Erudite and never allowed to step a foot back into its borders. That's when her eyes glued to Christian, and he knew what she was going to do. She was going to kill him. Not because she hated him, not because she thought he'd actually killed the Dr, but because that was the solution to this problem. Kill Christian. His solution? Escape.

They both acted at the same time. As Vex easily took down the officer in front of her, Christian wrestled his arms easily from the two pinning him. He slammed his forehead into the mouth of one, and brought his fist down on the head of the other. Then kicked them into each other and they were downed quickly. Then he ran. He knew he needed to be fast. He needed to get out of here before Vex caught him. Boosting it down the hall, he knew the two security guards would try to apprehend him, and he really needed them to get in Vex's way and not his.
'She's gone crazy! She's killing them all!" He yelled, trying to insert genuine fear in his voice. They hesitated just enough for him to barrel into one, sending him flying into the ground. However the other guard had better reactions, and he shoved Chris into the wall, bringing his gun up to threaten him. Chris didn't have the time to play with him. Grabbing the gun he did the only thing he thought would work. It's only a simulation. He told himself as he pointed at the man and pulled the trigger, hoping that he would shoot him non-lethally anyway. Dropping the gun and not checking to see if the man lived or died, Christian ran, glancing back once to check if Vex was after him. His mistake. She was. Watching the girl he was getting so close with, who was helping him better himself, watching her chase him with the desire, assumedly, to kill... Well that was more terrifying than the simulation itself. No explanation would waylay her, he would try to escape, and if not he would try to beat her. Those were his only options. Not waiting to see how long it would take her to catch up to him, he ran, using his memory of Dr Munro's laboratory and hoping that it was the same in the simulation. It seemed to be accurate. He dove down halls and through rooms he knew had back doors, until finally he found the fire escape stair case. He had no doubt that if he ran down he would likely get caught by more officers, as he could hear them entering the building, so his only option was up. Trying to break the handle of the door so that Vex couldn't open it easily, he did his best before racing upstairs. He was grateful for all the runs he had ever done, as his body groaned only slightly at the uphill run. He heard Vex break open the door, and he didn't even look back, simply running as fast as he could. He finally reached the fire exit door at the top and opened it up, using his elbow and kicking somewhat, he managed to also break the door handle, and slammed it shut, finding some nearby items to try and block the door. It wouldn't be enough, it never was, but it gave him just a small amount of time to look for escape. Given that it was the top floor, jumping would not be an option, and there was no line to use as a zip line. There was a rickety outside staircase down, and Chris hesitated, but knew he needed to use it unless... That's when the door slammed open with a bang, and Christian turned, having just stepped onto the fire escape. Oh dear. He quickly stepped off, bracing himself for the attack that was about to come his way.

Phillip Parks || 19 || Soldier/Trainer || Dauntlessborn

As Phillip watched Rhys and Randi's simulation for a little while, he began to feel strange and almost wrong for standing in the room they were out cold in. They had no idea he was watching them, and it felt wrong to stand there. Assuming Bloom had been correct that all the simulations could be watched from the home monitor where she was before, he would go and watch there. It would be more comfortable and less intrusive. He opened and closed the door, and exited Randi and Rhy's simulation room. Looking around to make sure there were no initiates left to be done, he walked back towards the main area, where he was pleasantly surprised to see Bloom and Ghost there. The snoopier side getting the best of him, Phillip tried to remain behind Ghost and quiet enough to not disturb their conversation, not till the perfect time anyway. Honey followed him softly and quietly, and Phillip was proud at how she never made noise unless specifically asked to. She was the perfect guard dog, the perfect security weapon, and the perfect companion and best friend. The last part of Ghost's sentence caused a giggle to come out of Phillip's mouth, so he decided to no longer try to remain unnoticed, instead he walked over quite happily and given that Bloom and Ghost were close enough together, he draped one arm over each of their shoulders. He had no idea whether Ghost would allow this or not, and to be honest he didn't care. He was laid back and chill, if Ghost wasn't, then that was fine, but it wouldn't stop Phillip from doing what he wanted. Plus, as much as Phillip might know a small amount of Ghost, he had no idea who he really was to be around, so he wanted to test him, just a little, or a lot. "Ahh, speaking of me I see." He said, referencing their former sentence of Bloom's enemies. Bloom shot him an unamused look and Phillip smiled widely, admiring her elegant features even as she scowled at him. "What? I couldn't help but overhear. Plus, I felt super awkward standing in the rooms watching the kids, do not want to do that unless you make me. Please don't make me Bloom dear." He said with puppy dog eyes and a sad half drooping yet still mischievous look. Bloom rolled her eyes at him and reminded him he could watch them from out here, but they needed to make sure to keep an eye on the monitors for anything strange and anything that might go wrong. Phillip let his hands slide off both their shoulders, and looked around. "Where's Charlie?" He asked, watching as Bloom noticed like him, that she wasn't with them. Then she seemed to make a guess, saying that Charlie was probably watching Shay and Aubrey, just in case Shay had a medical emergency again. Phillip nodded solidly as he scanned the monitors. "Yikes some of these kids have some crazy fears, and mixing them up like this is mental. I have no idea what's even happening in some of them." He said, his eyes focusing a bit on Rhys and Randi's. Watching their bodies grow old and become covered in spiders was definitely creepy.

As they watched the monitors, Phillip would occasionally (more often than not) watch Ghost. He was curious to what he was doing here, and for how long he would stay. He didn't want him to leave at all, but rather he wanted to get to know him. He felt he had gotten the advantage on Ghost, having spoken to him with confidence and knowing his name, he had taken a gamble himself when he suggested the gamble he had now with Ghost. But it seemed to pay off. He believed that as soon as he had given Ghost the ability to partake in gambling, he had jumped at it, almost too quickly. It tickled all of Phillip's desires to find someone as exciting as that right off the bat. Maybe they could have a lot more fun together. Phillip moved closer to Ghost. "So, do you have a roommate currently? With Caspian dead and Maverick MIA you must have a spare spot in your apartment right?" He spoke, eyebrow raising and being unable to hide the grin from knowing this information. Ghost may have seemed shocked that Phillip knew so much, but he played it off smoothly, something that Phillip was getting the feeling that Ghost was very good at doing. The main idea he got back from Ghost was that although that was true, he was already using all the rooms in his apartment, and had no room for another person. "Darn, I was so excited to room with you, I thought we could have so much fun together. I haven't flatted with anyone for ages. That's okay though, maybe another time." He chuckled, scratching Honey's ears. Ghost blinked a few times, and Phillip laughed. "Hey hey I thought it could be a possibility, you seem like fun, and I am fun, so I thought that naturally, it would be, fun." He said, this time with a perfectly straight face and as serious of an expression as he could put on his face. He would have kept it to, if Bloom hadn't spoiled it by elbowing him in the side and causing him to break character in short laughter. Her delightful chiding was music to his ears as he grinned at her and leaned against the desk to watch some more of the monitors. If Ghost was curious about him, what he might like to do, then he would allow Ghost the opportunity to come to him. He didn't have many male friends, in fact his closest friends were all female, or relatives. Thus, the prospect of having a male friend to do things with was incredibly intoxicating.

Phillip shivered as he looked at the monitors. He wondered how they were doing. Shay looked distraught in the monitor, although in the simulation she looked healthier than in real life, she was breaking down, and on the other hand, Aubrey was unmoving on a chair, as if paralyzed, or some other medical problem. He didn't want to know what was happening there though, as it looked bad. Moving on to Cas and Fable's, he watched in sadness as Fable struggled with looking after Griffon, Cas and dealing with some people in a room. They all looked sick, and yet Fable was managing very bravely. As Griffon started to diminish and the light started going from his eyes, and he averted his eyes. He didn't want to see that, real or not. He was surprised that the simulation allowed Cas to be that sick though, figuring that it must be a fear of hers though. It would make it more difficult to beat. As he looked at Griffon and Briony's, he saw how the stampede was so large that it shook the very ground that the two stood on, he watched as Briony fought against the dogs and he felt pride well up within him. He was so immensely glad that it was simulation that she could be aware of. But it still sucked to see her stuck there with the terrifying pack of dogs chasing her, as well as the stampede. Watching her kill the dogs was painful as much as it was pride inducing, as he hated to see animals harmed, but he was so proud of Briony standing up for herself. Finally he looked at Chris and Vex's, and watched as the scene played out, Chris was covered in blood, and someone was dead. Phillip felt sadness as he realized that this must be Christian's fear of accidents, of hurting people without meaning to. Obviously this was taking it to the worst level, death. He was unsure what Vex's fear was, possibly Erudite, or laboratory's, or security. But when the chase started and Christian was running away, he could see that Vex was chasing him. A fight? A chase? Or were they escaping together? He couldn't tell, until he got to the point where Christian broke the door handle to try and stop Vex going after him. How interesting. He glanced over at Bloom and Ghost. "These are all so interesting to watch, aren't they?" He said, smiling.

Vex

Mood: Calculating

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Chris

This was not real. Vex knew that with every fiber of her being as the simulated Dauntless soldier informed her that due to her failure to protect the good doctor she would no longer be permitted within the borders of the Erudite compound. There was no way in hell that this simulation would ever be real because Vex knew with every fiber of her being that she would gladly die before allowing an scratch to befall Dr. Munro. Still she needed to make this convincing, she couldn’t win until she provided a convincing enough show to warrant the victory without raising further suspicion. Luckily she was a master of physical control and with little effort she had her heart beating at a pace that would allow the simulation to believe she was still within its depths rather than crowning her an early victor. She stood in silence listening to this fake guard and his simulated speech but her gaze found its way to Chris. It seemed he knew good and well what she had figured out the moment she saw Dr. Munro’s body. Within a heartbeat the young blonde male was bashing the guards who restrained him and fleeing from the scene of his supposed crime with a fresh trail of bodies marking his path. Vex resisted the urge to smirk and instead maintained the sorrowful but determined look that would be expected of her as she rushed after him to avenge her simulated fallen master.

It wasn’t difficult to track Chris down as he fled further up the building. At one point she could have sworn that she heard him screaming to several guards that SHE had gone crazy and hurt or killed the others but disappointingly all fallen forms were by the hands of Chris and not herself. Though her blood lust cried out like a raging dragon, Vex kept it hidden within her as she had learned to do over her years of training and instead focused on catching up to her latest prey. It was certainly interesting to stalk Chris down like a piece of wild game rather than a potential ally, she knew that afterwards she might have to do some form of damage control but also trusted that Dr. Munro’s conditioning serum would assist in ensuring Chris didn’t hold her actions against her. Silently she stepped over the unmoving bodies of several downed guards and followed the trickling blood trail Chris left behind. After a certain point she didn’t even need to see the blood to tell where he had fled to as the simulation had developed a clear route that she easily followed.

Reaching a door Vex noticed that the knob was crooked and had clearly been bent out of place from the other side. Examining the doorway and its weak points she landed several experimental kicks in different areas that were notorious weak spots on this door and frame. She wanted it to look as though she was kicking semi-randomly for anyone watching. Much like all of her movements thus far Vex did each with the intention of looking as though she were trying to work her way through the simulation with admirable cleverness without giving away that she could have escaped forever ago with easy. By the way the door felt with each blow Vex could tell that Chris had been clever enough to produce some sort of barricade on the other side though it clearly had its weak points. Aiming her blows to the hinged side of the door rather than the locked side she managed to find the weakest spot and lay her attacks into it with precision that soon had the metal buckling. Within a few swift blows the door was kicked off the hinges and buckling in on itself as Vex shot her way through the entrance in time to see Chris headed towards the fire escape. “I can’t let you get away.” She called out to Chris and flashed him a false yet convincing look of regret as she charged towards him. A fire escape was not the best place for a person of his size to have to face off against her in a fight. While he might be strong and unpredictable she had agility and reflexes on her side. Flying down the fire escape after him she seemed to descend with incredible grace and was on the young blonde male in an instant.

Randi

Mood: Complicated

Location: Testing Center

Interactions: Rhys (Rain)

The increase in Randi’s heart rate wasn’t due to the spiders or the effects of their venom but rather the stress of not wanting to manipulate the simulation in a manner that would expose her as a divergent. Sure growing old was something that she didn’t like to think about but right now she was fully aware that the effects of the spider's bite wouldn’t be permanent and once she woke up she would be young and strong once again. For now her great battle existed in not giving into any thoughts that might result in the simulation changing abnormally. Blonde hair whipped around as Randi turned, supporting her aged arm with her young one as she made her way down a long dark corridor. Her booted feet drummed along the dark tiled floor and behind her she could hear the scuttling of more spiders, likely too many to count. In fact it wasn’t only behind her that she could hear the spiders now but ahead of her too and possibly to the sides though that might have just been caused by the echoing hallways. Spiders weren’t the only things the platinum beauty could make out further down the hall from her. Her jade green gaze widened as she recognized the panicked voice of Rhys though he sounded a bit different, not totally himself but then again sometimes fear could bring out different sides of a person.

“RHYS!” She called out to the figure ahead of her as she skidded to a halt by the young man’s side. Looking him in the eyes Randi knew something more was happening than just the fear of the simulation but didn’t know what exactly was going on. The way Rhys was holding himself, his expressions, even they way he was moving seemed off and Randi couldn’t help but wonder if it was a side effect of the serum like what had happened to Shay. “Hey, it’s gonna be okay.” She assured him in a surprisingly soft and calming tone. Randi was well aware of the fact that this was a competition, but she still didn’t like to see Rhys like this, he didn’t deserve that no matter what he had done to her in the past. She gently rested a hand on Rhys’s shoulder, her chipped black and red nails pressing into his shirt gently to help ground him and keep the young man from getting lost in the fear. Looking around Randi knew that the spiders would be upon them very soon, she could hear the eight-legged creatures that carried aging venom scuttling through the halls all around them. It was as she focused on the sound of the spiders and tried to gain some knowledge of how far they were exactly that she noticed another sound she had missed up until now. It was a soft dripping noise. Looking up mint green eyes examined the ceiling above them as the lights flickered and sure enough, she could see old pipes that looked ready to burst.

“Mind if I borrow this?” Randi asked as she stepped over Rhys and picked up the baseball bat, she assumed he had been using to fend off the spiders he had run into. She didn’t register if he said yes or no but assumed he hadn’t minded her using it since he made no moves to stop her as she bent over him to pick it up. The baseball bat was a heavy metal one that was certainly solid. Adjusting it in her good hand the blonde looked up and attempted to line up her swing but reconsidered her move just before swinging. The spiders weren’t her fear, the fact that they made her age was. Would washing them away be enough? She wasn’t sure. Glancing down at her elderly arm she thought for a heartbeat before finally shifting so both hands, old and young, were now gripping the bat. She wouldn’t be hiding from the aged portion of herself, she wouldn’t try to treat it like a handicap, she would accept that so long as it can move it can still be useful and so she shouldn’t let it stand in her way that it was aged. Holding the bat firmly with both hands Randi pulled back and swung upwards. With a loud and echoing crack, the metal hit the pipe and Randi felt it shift and water suddenly gushed out and poured down the hall towards the spiders.

Blinking awake Randi was surprised to see that the simulation had faded away and she was back in the testing center. Looking around the blonde was happy to find her arm was young and strong again as was the rest of her. Glancing to the side she was curious to see if Rhys was awake yet or if he was still in the simulation. She had hoped that knocking the pipe loose as a display of accepting and getting over aging would help him deal with the spiders as well. Curiously she hopped off her testing chair and walked over to look down at the young man she had once been so close to.
