Fantasy Discovering the World (Forum RP)

Welcome, one and all, to a roleplaying adventure where you will fight for your survival along with your party.

Generic? Maybe. Let me get into details.

What follows below is a brief description of the general story of the starting RP.

Type: Fantasy

Age: Medieval

Races: Keep it rather humanoid. While I don't mind the occasional animality (they would live in the Center (see below for more information)), there can't be too many crazy races running around. If you are unsure, please ask. There's no reason we can't compromise.

Story: (This is where it gets long)

Your character is travelling, for one reason or another. He/She may be an adventurer, a doctor, heck, whatever you want, really. The point is, you are currently on a convoy heading to the small town of Saltbottom, which is a bustling city filled with all kinds of people, merchants, and dangers. Unfortunately for you, the convoy is attacked by a ferocious monster halfway trough, and the carriages are destroyed one after another.

YOU play the role of a character who lived through the events and is now finding him/herself in a battle for his life against the creature who caused your peril in the first place. Whether you play a battle-oriented character or not, your first task will be to survive the battle against the fiend that caused you to be stranded in the middle of the Ahkaja forest, far from civilization. Your only help is your own skill and those fortunate enough to survive the catastrophe that has befallen you.

Will you take up your sword and fight?

Will you apply your knowledge of the lands to find the safest path for the party to travel?

Whatever your skills may be, you will have to find a use for them in the forest of Ahkaja until you reach civilization in The North.

----

This is a introductory adventure to introduce you the continent of Aydel. I will use previously written history to make the world more alive. Political battles, a cold war heating up and your character is in the middle of it all. What you do with it is up to you and your choice could alter the destiny of the entire land.

A very basic rundown of the history is as follows:

"The North" is often described as the birthplace of magic. The country houses many different kinds of creatures, humanoid or the like, and is official open to all intelligent beings. However, beneath the kind surface lies an unwritten law of disdain against those not visably human. While they are not excluded by law, extremists are around every corner and magic is still something to be shunned and scolded.

It is ruled by an old king, and the throne is the clear goal of all of the people close to him. While the internal struggle is strong, as is the external. "The South" is the large deserts and mountains to the far south of Aydel. It was previously ruled by the late King Amses II, who was assassinated under mysterious circumstances a few months prior to the start of the roleplay. The South is now in chaos, and many people are escaping the country, either fleeing to the uninhabited lands between the south and the north, where no kings rule but also where there is no soft tavern bed for the night, or taking refuge in The North, despite the clear prevalent dislike of southerners in The North.

You are for some reason part of a caravan travelling towards the town of Saltbottom in The North. That is when the adventure begins.

----

I am looking for somewhat experienced roleplayers that can handle the free level of raw power allowed in the creation of your character as well as the general, raw tone of the land. Aydel is a magical country, but it is also cold and cruel, which I am looking for people who can emphasise. Human racism and so on is not uncommon, brutal murders and political deception are all core part of this cold, whimsical land.

If you are interested, fill out the template below and I'll be available if you have any questions on the setting, the magic, the characters, and so on and so forth.

Name: (keep it medieval)

Race: (keep it humanoid, playing a human is fine)

Gender:

Age:

Looks:

Background:

Family:

Goals:
(Not required, but you should have some form of goal. This might of course change over the course of the RP!)

Skills: (If there's something you would like to emphasise. Thievery, fishing, hunting, linguistics, you name it.)

Supernatural Abilities: (Magic is allowed, and we can of course be flexible with inventing new types of abilities, but if you have something crazy in mind, discuss it with me first)

Equipment: (That he/she carries with him and could have survived the attack).

----

If nothing else, I very much look forward to roleplay with you and I hope that we can create an enticing story together!

I am very much interested in this. I can imagine many role play opportunities here. Just a note: I have never done a forum role play before.

Sure, just make your character and we will go over if someone is out of line and if not I will let you know when I have created the forum. Right now I'm just recruiting players for the first session, and then we will play it out, I will fill out the history and lore of Aydel and then it should be more open.

But create your character after the written template and we will get started!

This sounds great where do I sign up?
Write that you are interested in this thread and then create your character after the template in this thread and send me a copy of it in PM and we will go over if there's anything out of line. Looking forward to RP with you!

I have a question. For looks do you want a description or picture? If picture what type.

Either works, but I would prefer a written description of your character. If you want to draw you character, that's fine too, but don't use something like an actor to display your character. It can easily become pretty silly.

Furthermore, most posts will have quite a high standard on written English. Not saying you need to be a writer to pull it off, but try to keep the writing smooth and fluent.

Well my English sucks so I guess I won't be joining after all.

I'm sorry to hear that. I really don't want to make some extremist statement that only extremely good "linguists" should join, but being fluent in English is a requirement.

If you think you can manage it is entirely up to you. I won't refuse anyone because of their writing skill, but since the level is going to be quite high you might feel out of place if you think your English is sub par.

Thanks for the interest anyway and have a good one!

Most definitely interested, I shall ruminate to scavenge some ideas for a character tomorrow.

Props to you for creating this.

I am very glad to hear that! Looking forward to reading about your character!

Thank you, it is partially taken from a writing project of mine, and I would really like to see how people roleplay in the given enviornment. I have also not forum RPd in a while, so I was kind of looking forward to some form of simpler adventure to start off with, to then escalate into a bigger story.

Name: Ryouta Lupus

Race: Half-Lycan

Gender: Male

Age: 14

Looks: (Will eventually post a picture) Short, pointy hair with two long ends running down his chest. Fur about everywhere but his face, hands and feet. Wears an open leather vest and leather shorts. Doesn't wear shoes.

Personality: Ryouta is cocky and has a bad temper, but he's good at heart. While he may act tough, even unfriendly at times, he always tries to look after those around him. He won't back down from a fight, no matter how obvious the difference in strength may be.

Background: Ryouta grew up in a small village with his parents and his little sister, working the shop that his father owned. He hated the boring, monotone job and always dreamt of someday achieving something greater. The village would get adventurers from time to time, which was the only interesting thing ever happening, and the stories they could tell was the spark that made him decide to venture out on his own.

His parents refused, of course; He was still a child, and the dangerous world was not a place for a young boy like himself. Furious, Ryouta ran away from home to show them that he definitely could take care of himself; He would find and defeat the beast that was said to roam in the forest outside the village! Armed with only his bow and a handful of arrows, he began searching for tracks of the beast. He found none, of course, because there was no such thing as a legendary beast. It was just a rumour that the elders had spread to keep the little ones from running astray in the forest.

However, this little adventure was not completely in vain. When Ryouta returned a month later, his parents were overjoyed to see that he was still alive, to his great confusion. He didn't understand what they had been worried about, he had just been gone for a month. Then he realized: He'd been gone for a month! He had learned how to hunt, to sneak, how to prepare and cook his own food and how to use his weapon in such a short time span! If there was ever a time to declare his intent to become an adventurer, it would be now!

So he did, in front of the whole village: "I'm good enough to take care of myself! Keeping me locked up in that shack of a shop isn't what I was meant to do and you know it! Just let me go, and I'll return rich and famous!"

He practically begged his parents to let him set off, and with the situation as it was, his parents were in no position to say no. They sighed heavily and gave him their blessing, but not before he had washed up, eaten properly and had a good night's sleep! He also had some severe packing to do if he was to leave the village. The next day, Ryouta said his farewells to the village and officially set out on his path to become a full fledged adventurer.

Family: Ishi Lupus (Father), Amanda Lupus (Mother), Shiki Lupus (Younger sister)

Goals: To find an ancient city, a lost treasure, defeat a legendary beast or solve a great mystery.

Skills: Ryouta has a natural talent for hunting. Being half-lycan, his sense of smell is very developed. He's fairly good at tracking, as well as stalking his prey. He's also quite agile, being able to climb trees and such easily despite his short stature. Apart from that, he's knowledgeable of nature and environments, mainly from the tales told by visiting adventurers, and has a basic understanding of identifying items and their value from his time in the shop. He's unable to tell the difference between mundane items and magical ones, though.

Supernatural Abilities: Ryouta has no supernatural abilities.

Equipment: A normal bow with a quiver of about 15 arrows, a small knife and a waterbottle.

This looks fine, Serastroph. Keep in mind that since he came from a Half-Lycan village that there might be discrimination towards him in bigger cities, since while Half-Lycans are very human like, they aren't quite human. But other than that it should be fine. Half-Lycans are the result of magic leaking into Aydel, which created diverse races.

Other than that, it should be fine. Just remember to keep it to a gritty tone when the game begins.

Hmm, I have an idea for a character in mind, but his supernatural ability requires a few assumptions. How powerful/versatile can magic be? And can weapons be "enchanted", having supernatural properties?

The limits are not very clear, it's kind of the whole "don't be stronger than the rest of the world"-type deal. I am fine with sorcerers and the like, being able to cast spells is okay, but then you are either in the Divine, Spirit or Arcane category. These will all be made clearer when the Forum part is working again on the site and I can create the forum, but the basic rundown;

Divine: Holy magic, reflects the purity of the soul into ones shaping of magic. Used my priests, paladins and the like.

Spirit: Soul magic, reflects the state of the soul into raw magic. Very unflexible and difficult to control.

Arcane: Arcane magic is magic you can study and improve on using other people's spells. Arcane is probably the most sophisticated form of magic and is also the most common one (albeit magic users are rare themselves). Arcane magic is most types of spells that doesn't fall under the other categories.

It's hard to find and example of it, but there is no living mage that can wave his/her hand and wipe out an army or a city. Magic is difficult, and the time we are playing in is the aftermath of a rupture to the plane of magic, hence why not many people know how to control it very well.

You can enchant weapons, yes. They can either be artefacts previously enchanted or enchanted by a divine or arcane caster. Just don't overdo it. Strong characters is fine, but overpowered can easily get boring.

Hmmmm, also are monsters and the like also able to have magical properties? ?

Elegy said:

Well, there are dragons and such, so I suppose, yes. But it's less sophisticate unless we're talking about mindflayers and the like.

The exiled third daughter of a wealthy merchant turned

bandit

Name: Temperance Octavia Landover

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Looks:<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_09/072fc9f1ad181c35c7c1b4a1ebea067e.jpg.1fe5da47a4a8ff64f503cbcb9b09571a.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="29772" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_09/072fc9f1ad181c35c7c1b4a1ebea067e.jpg.1fe5da47a4a8ff64f503cbcb9b09571a.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Background: Temperance is the bastard third daughter of a silk merchant. She was raised around wealth but never knew prosperity. The person who raised her believed in earning over giving. Temperance's mother wanted to pass the business down intact. She didn't want to split it between her daughters--choosing instead to pick a single heir from the three of them.

The woman wanted Temperance to become her puppet. Their wasn't any love lost between the sisters, but Temperance refused to sabotage her own blood. Instead she joined a caravan heading out from the city. Temperance knew the basics of fighting from watching the city guard from the training barracks in view of their upscale estate. She tried working as a bar maid after she ran away but realized quickly that a lackluster lifestyle wasn't for her.

An associate of her mother's recognized Temperance at the tavern and, after losing an arm wrestling match to her, offered her a position in his 'personal accompaniment'. It was a code for a thug. A person who made certain the merchant's got all his returns back. (unbeknownst to Temperance this man was her father. Her mother put him up to offering her the position so they could watch her.)

Since then, Temperance has brutalized, robbed, and assisted in murder. Outside of the cities, along the main roads, being a bandit is the easiest way to make money. She's takes advantage of the political chaos in the South. Refugees are the easiest prey to take from.

Family: A manipulative mother, a murderous sister, and another sister too honest for her own good. She doesn't know about her father.

Goals: Earn her own fortune (through banditry or trade or treasure hunting, it doesn't really matter to her)

Skills: Intimidation, Fighting, Thievery, Bartering

Supernatural Abilities: None

Equipment: A long blade (enchanted so that she can't accidentally loose it), dried fruit, a bone bracelet stolen from some refugee with a poison tipped blade inside.

Name: Cìrìth

Race: Elf

Gender: Female

Age: 176

Looks: Cìrìth has waist-length, Rose-colored hair. Her eyes are a piercing Emerald shade of Green. She stands 5'5", and weighs 120 pounds, with a slender build. She's typically found wearing the soft, white robes of a Cleric.

346015.jpg

Hair differs slightly from the picture, being rose-colored, rather than the darker red pictured.

Background: Cìrìth was born into the church. Her mother was High Priestess for (some random city in the South? Can be named later, if necessary) before her, and as her first-born daughter, Cìrìth is destined to be the next, after her mother. With this being the situation, Cìrìth hasn't been allowed much contact with the outside world. She's been sheltered, taught only what she needs to know in life to be able to get by, in the temple. Nearly her entire life has been spent within the walls of the temple. Cìrìth can only remember two points in her life where events required an armed escort to take her outside of the temple's walls. The caravan she is now with has a fairly heavy guard, and is only the third time in her life she's ever been outside of the temple.

In the company of the temple's four most prestigious guards, Cìrìth was on her way to a temple in the North, with the intent of performing a purification ceremony in a cave rumored to be filled with all manner of evil creatures, which have recently begun raids on a nearby human city. When the monster attacked, and destroyed the caravan, three of the guards were killed immediately. The remaining guard stood against the creature, telling Cìrìth to escape while she could. She began to run but only moments later, heard the man's bloodcurdling scream, and the tearing of his plate armor, as the monster tore him apart.

Family
: Her father's whereabouts unknown, the only family she knows, is her mother.

Goals: Born into the church, and destined to take over as High Priestess after her mother, Cìrìth is determined to see as much of the world as possible, before she is forced into the position after her mother passes.

Skills: Cìrìth is very skilled in First Aid. She also possesses the ability to wield Divine magic.

Supernatural Abilities: Cìrìth wields Divine magic, and is able to use it to heal, bless allies, and, when the situation calls for it, also use it offensively, as well.

Equipment: Though she typically wears her standard ceremonial white robes, while travelling, she typically wears a set of light plate armor under the robes. She also possesses a short sword. While she doesn't typically use it, she always keeps it nearby, in case her magic fails her.

Personality: Cìrìth is an extremely kind and caring person. As the daughter of the High Priestess, she's been taught to be kind to others, above all else. Having very little social interaction throughout her life, with anyone outside of the temple, Cìrìth can be described as being quite naive. While she knows the way other people, and life outside of the temple should work, she, in truth, knows very little about the way the world actually functions, as such matters aren't deemed of concern to one destined to don the mantle of the High Priestess.

(Updated Background a bit, also added Personality.

Looks great! Very well implemented into the setting and an interesting character overall. She's traveling with the caravan then to prey on the refugees fleeing the country? Dark, I like it!

@AshenLily

As we discussed over PM, the character looks very fitting and I think you will manage the use of magic quite well. Good to have characters from all over the spectrum, looking forward to RPing with you!

To all of you, also, there seems to be some troubles with creating a forum, so I will make sure to let you all know when the forum is up (via private message), until then I will keep looking through if there are any new people who want to join. Although I like having a lot of different people to RP with, more than five and it might get a bit out of control for the very first adventure. For the ones after the forum has started up, however, that's a different story.

If you have any questions about the setting do ask in this thread or send me a message and I will get back to you on that.

Volund Decimius Draconn

Race: Human

Gender:

Male

Age:

29

Looks:

Volund weighs in at an extraordinary 112 Kg with a height of 188 cm. His weight is due to his supernatural abilities, which are detailed later on.

Siegfried.png

Background:

Volund's birth is not something worth noting celebrated. He came from the earth, like all that lives, and will return to the dust from whence he came. Volund was born to two vassals bound to their lord's land. They toiled from the early rays of sunlight all the way to the cool embrace of the night and the moon's smile. Their lives were nothing noteworthy, nothing to record. They simply tilled the land and made it bear fruit, common peasant labor. They were not a unique case, and many hundreds like them lived on the lord's land also, as it stretched into vast expanses into the horizon, teeming with fertile land, dotted with beautiful flora, embraced with nature's perfections. Into this lowly status Volund was birthed, and into this lowly manual labor he was introduced to from the ripening age of five. Volund was a servant to his lord, bound to the land in all ways. His body and soul were merely extensions of the land, bound to it with chains of social restriction bestowed by the lord. However, young Volund was never content with his life as a tiller of the earth, and always he desired to reach unimaginable heights in his dreams. He would wield a sword, traverse the vast, unknown lands beyond his lord's land, and gain fame and glory. He dreamed every day of glorious dreams of monster slaying, camaraderie and brilliance, while his waking hours were spent preening his lord's gardens for weeds. Of course, these dreams were ridiculed by others. He was a slave to his lord and could not leave the land that he was bound to, what use were these fanciful dreams that could never come into fruition? But young Volund's will was something that distinguished him from the rabble. It was an unbreakable will that no subjugation could shatter. A compact metal that no smith could smelt. A force that could never be changed unless Volund wanted it to. This will clung on, no, strangled the ideal of becoming a glorious hero that could be respected and recognized. Thus Volund was never discouraged by taunts or jeers as his heart kept a firm lock on the lofty dream of becoming a hero. His heart's cries were finally heard when a wandering adventurer settled down on the lord's land as a honorary guest. He was a wizened old man, face streaked with wrinkles, hair a snow white, but nevertheless with eyes burning with brilliant life with its powerful azure hue. The old man was an extremely adept practitioner of the magic of the soul and the magic of the divine, and had cured the lord of a fatal disease to earn his status as a honored guest that could stay and feast upon the riches of the lord's land to ease his weary body. However, this is not what the old man wanted. He had been an adventurer almost all his life, and his restless spirit would never settle to a quiet and peaceful retirement. What kept the old man was Volund. The old man saw through Volund's social status, his ragged clothes and rather weak physical frame into his heart of unwavering strength and knew that he had found a rare gem amongst a sea of fakes. The old man took in Volund as his apprentice and began to groom him to become the hero of his long held dreams. Though Volund showed absolutely no aptitude for any magics, he had talents more suited for a knight. His swordsmanship was excellent, his riding of mounts superb, his strength powerful and easily trainable, his mind quick and perhaps great of all, his heart set firmly upon immovable stone. Volund trained and trained and trained, day after day, week after week, year after year to become the perfect knight. From the slight, unremarkable boy he once was, Volund evolved to an imposing, dashing and fine specimen of the physical body with powerful frame and sharp features. His skills as a knight were unmatched all throughout the lord's land, and he incited admiration from many. With admiration also comes envy, and many of the noble born knights that found themselves a shadow of Volund festered a horrid black envy within them. Their outer appearance were gentle, their complexions placid and their manners polite, but within them lay sickly green envy.

Finally after what seemed to be a lifetime, young Volund entered the court of his lord as a fully accepted knight. The old man continued to be his advisor and mentor as Volund began to set himself as the hero he always dreamed of. He often set out on expeditions to right wrongs, to avenge the death of a fallen knight, to help the peasants and perform acts of valor and glory. It seemed as if Volund had reached the absolute pinnacle of his existence. He was what he had always dreamed of: A hero that many would gaze upon with awe and admiration.

But all good is transient, mere flower petals of ephemeral existence destined to fade away into withered husks.

The lord died, and his son, a long time knight that harbored extreme amounts of hate and envy for Volund, took his place as the ruler of the land. The court became a corrupt cesspool, with honorable knights becoming exiled, framed for crimes, or sent off on impossible quests before being replaced by lackeys of the lord's son. Volund was no exception to this purge, and was sent off, along with his dearest comrades numbering fifty, to bring back the head of Darkon the Indestructible, a dragon of rippling power that could not breathe torrents of flame, but had an extremely powerful life force running through its blood that strengthened its scales and skin to immense levels. The dragon was feared by many, and resided atop a treacherous mountain that housed all manners of sinister monstrosities.

Volund was a knight, and a knight must obey his lord without question.

And so Volund set out on an impossible expedition with his dearest comrades to challenge Darkon the insurmountable. The trek up the mountain was an arduous and dangerous process that forced starvation, disease, death and adversity upon the knights like a looming plague. Every day a knight would be slaughtered by some monstrosity, felled by hunger, coiled by disease, or sent on a wrong course away from the main group to eventually be killed. When the group of knights finally reached the apex of the mountain, they numbered seven. The strongest seven knights of the court that all embodied the chivalrous ideals of knighthood that had sworn brotherhood with Volund and each other. Here at the top of the mountain they encountered the dragon. It was a hulking beast with sinister, luminous green eyes that shone with strength, but yet an oddly strained tenor. The mass of muscled destruction unleashed its overpowering strength upon the knights, slaughtering them with impossible force that created tremors that shook the ground. The remaining knights were no weaklings though, they were all versed in the magical arts and were the absolute seven strongest in an already respected court. They held their ground, falling one by one by one, each by the end of an hour. No matter what attack they struck the dragon with, it's indestructible skin shrugged off with no damage. A futile battle.

Upon the strike of the eighth hour, only Volund was left. The dragon before him was tired and almost unscathed, the joint attack of all seven knights having created an impression upon the dragon's throat, leaving it bare. Volund wordlessly viewed the mountaintop around him. Seven mangled corpses lay scatted about. Seven knights of great honor. Seven friends. Seven brothers.

Volund stood before the dragon weakly, all of his armor being shattered away and even his clothes torn to shreds. His bare body shivered under the cold air of the mountaintop as crimson life blood oozed from hundreds of cuts around his body. The only thing that clothed him was his regalia: A cross shaped back plate still hanging loosely upon his back, aligned with his spine.

Volund grasped his massive broadsword and charged with reckless abandon in a full frontal assault, taking no care for defense. Volund had lost absolutely everything that was precious in his life. His peace, his friends, his honor, his knighthood. There was nothing left to fight for anymore except to avenge his fallen brothers. With a battle cry that came not from Volund, but from some deep primal ravager within him, Volund pierced the dragon's throat. The dragon's blood spurted from its throat in a massive torrent, showing Volund in a whirlpool of the dragon's cursed blood. The blood burned itself into Volund, imparting its magical strengths unto Volund's body, and with these energies so too did the dragon's memories and being. It was these memories that broke Volund's heart of stone. The dragon was a kindly elder that had destroyed small settlements throughout the land when it had been young and reckless. However, it had been witness to the miracle of human bravery and courage and began to respect the humans it had formerly devoured and even began to foster ideals of honor within itself. The dragon had, in its long life, fended off feral dragons from ever entering its territory to protect the humans that lived within it. It had suffered countless battle scars and unimaginable pain to defend a species it deemed as being the embodiment of nobility. The dragon had never attacked a settlement without purpose, always attacking to cause evacuation when it sensed dangers it could not fend off and never causing casualties. Nevertheless, the humans feared the dragon out of instinct, but the dragon accepted this hate and fear as simply a natural instinct and believed honorably that by shouldering the hate and fear of the peoples, the dragon would be able to ease their minds. Now old and weak, the dragon found that this fear had worked against him, as it drove countless knights to seek glory, fame or money by attacking him and attempting to bring his head to their respective courts. The dragon, in its aged state, fought out of self- preservation, regrettably killing knights because it could not survive without lethal force. The challenge that Volund and his fellow seven brought to this decrepit dragon had been its last. In its dying moments, as Volund's sword pierced its throat, the dragon did not harbor any resentment or hate towards the humans that it had killed, believing that its death was atonement for it causing such destruction in its younger years.

Volund lost his ideals of heroism. He lost his sense of justice and what was right or wrong. Volund had always believed he was doing the right thing, but everything now changed. He began to question. What happened to the families of those bandits he killed? What happened to the loved ones of the knights he killed through vengeance? Was there ever a right way to do anything? What is it to be a hero? What is honor except a shameful word for self - gain? What is glory except fame attained from the backs of the killed?

Seeking answers to these questions and a greater purpose in life, Volund cast himself into self exile and began wandering without destination.

Family:

None alive.

Goals:

Volund desires to obtain a greater understanding of morality and honor that looks past the simple logistics of "we are good they are bad", he also yearns to once again set his heart on fire with a definitive goal. One could say his goal is to find a goal.

Skills:

Volund is an incredible swordsman and experienced combatant, having learned rudimentary martial arts(Basically advanced brawling, nothing fancy) and been in combat countless times. His skill with his massive broadsword, which he has christened Balmung, is extremely advanced, capable of garnering the respect of even skilled knights. He is no slouch in using other weapons such as lances and bows, but he is not as skilled with them as he is with the sword.

Volund is experienced in riding horses.

Volund has good outdoor survival skills due to his years of travelling alone which he has grown accustomed to.

Supernatural Abilities:

Volund has no actual magical capability himself, but he has obtained a few magical traits through being showered in the life blood of Darkon.

Blood of Darkon

Volund's blood is now essentially dragon's blood, having merged with Darkon's draconic life force. The blood bath changed Volund's physical appearance as well, changing his normally black hair to a snow white and tanning his skin. His eyes have also become reptilian and have changed color from blue to a luminous green, causing people to mistake Volund as a mixed race. However, there is a cross shaped symbol that runs down the length of Volund's back that is not the same tanned shade as the rest of this skin. This marking was caused by iron cross regalia that Volund had on his back when the blood showered him, and thus this large patch of skin on his back does not have any special properties.

Darkon's blood was imbued with high amounts of magical energy which strengthened his skin and scales to near indestructible levels, and this ability has transferred over to Volund. His skin is extremely durable and solid, feeling like steel more than flesh. Because Volund's blood simply merged with Darkon's blood, the strengthening effect is much weaker, but nevertheless it is potent enough that Volund's entire body can be called a suit of armor. Arrows and regular projectiles will have a hard time piercing through the skin, while sword strikes would have their power reduced to shallow lacerations rather than deep cuts. The steel - like skin also makes striking Volund a difficult task as the solid consistency of Volund's skin is like punching a brick wall or attempting to swing a sword at one, the recoil damage will be proportional to how hard the blow or sword strike was applied. The dragon's blood also grants Volund far greater physical strength than a regular man and more will to fight and push on through damage or hurt. The downside to his durable skin is that it heals slowly and is quite heavy, forcing Volund to wear an absolute bare minimum of armor that only protects essential vitals somewhat lest he becomes too slow. Even then Volund is more of a "tank" type combatant, focusing on covering a maximum amount of area with broad slashes with his large broadsword Balmung and shrugging off damage than darting around the battlefield.

Equipment:

-Volund's armor, as it is not much and only covers his vitals

-Balmung, Volund's sword

-Nothing else really.

The Blood of Darkon reminds me of the Aman from Tera, which is kind of neat! I'd love to do a an artistic interpretation of all of these characters once the game's begun and I've gotten to know y'all a little better!

@Elegy

Looks great! I will reply a bit further on this character since there's a bit more background written about him, but I want you to consider if he was born in The North or in The South, since he worked for a lord, and there are definitely no lords in The Center.

Other than that, I think it looks fine. Like I said, will read it more carefully when I get back. The powers look fine and the goal is very good, fits the setting well.

I was going to also add another template to the character creation that I stupidly forgot; personality. We have the core group of people ready right now, so all of you who have posted your characters, could you add in another post about their personality? And then edit that into the template? Thank you! My character should be uploaded tonight as well.

Personality: Ryouta is cocky and has a bad temper, but he's good at heart. While he may act tough, even unfriendly at times, he always tries to look after those around him. He won't back down from a fight, no matter how obvious the difference in strength may be.
