Name: Alice

Model: Created for theater/ Entertainment

Years Active: 15 years

Picture/Description:
Ballerina.jpg
The first thing that is noticeable about Alice is her body. She is completely made of steel and topped off with a lovely shimmering coat of silver paint that was reapplied after every ending show. She was created to be slim and fit, just as the “perfect ballerina” look would be. Her hair is the same shade of grey made out of the same materials. It depicts a medium, simple haircut that bobs at the ends. Over everything she wears a withered, red tutu (real clothing so they could change it with the scenes and show). She was created simply for show and to be a background character with the perfect movements and look. Her model looks exactly the same throughout creations save the hair styles and outfits.

Skills: Dancing, acting, perceptive (when it comes to people’s emotions), balancing.
Picked up on: Cooking/ cleaning, some defensive moves (in case of attack)

History: In Alice’s case (Along with many like her) she used to be a background dancer on stage in the Litherian Theater for 15 years until it burned down just two years prior to her arrival at Home for Bots. Being specifically made to be in theater, it was all she had ever known. Although she is tormented by the fact that her only home was burned to ashes, she knew she was one of the lucky ones. Being kept in the business for 15 years was quite the accomplishment for a robot, especially in this day and age. Despite her yearning for her home, she was also thankful for the freedom the disaster gave her. She was made for show business, sure, but working tirelessly every day until show only to pick back up with a two week break had its tolls. The director was never good to anybody on stage, especially the ensemble. They had demanded perfection, and Alice, along with many of her cast and crew members, were severely punished if perfection was not achieved. This made for quite a terrible work environment, but it made an excellent reputation out of the theater.

Name: CORE

Model: security system central control unit

Years Active: 5

Picture/Description: 1560810062118.jpeg
Skills: coordination, teamwork, critical thinking.

History: core was designed as a replacement for an actual chief of security for companies like all in his line core was thrown out after a few years due to the bots uncanny appearance, unserious additude (despite doing its job well) and a unknown but very annoying noise that sounded like a soft base drum.. and that's how core ended up here just a defective product that failed

Name: Jackie Rabbit

Model: Not identifiable to any known models, built to be cuddly and friendly. An animatronic.

Years Active: 14

Picture/Description: Jackie appears to be a seven foot tall automaton with a lagomorphic design and cartoonish proportions. Most prominently is their muzzle, large oval ears connected by hinges, and a small white ball attached to their waist plating. The machine has fur coating a thick plastic shell over strange mech interior. Much of their back exposes their endoskeleton, mostly a jagged networking of wires and metal that is their spire up to what is considered their cranium. The costume around these breaches is worn and burnt, appearing like scarring. This scarring travels to his ribs and cheeks. Strangely enough, despite their plastic costume, their face moves like flesh does. His smile is barren besides a row of flat teeth on his lower jaw, and a pair of buck teeth on his top. When he speaks, there is a metallic set of jaws that moves at the back of his throat. It inst noticeable at first until light hits them just right. His face is somewhat round with plush cheeks and bolts that are placed, seemingly decoratively, at the corners of his muzzle. Two glossy eyes take residence in his eye sockets, with black plastic eyelids hooding them to create a lazy and cool look. Strangely, however, their crystal blue pupils and irises seems to dilate. Their fur is mostly unkempt, with fuzz sticking out in tufts.

Analysis dictates that his mechanical frame is heavily modified, parts of his spine having arcanic runes carved onto the steel surface.

Skills: Jackie has the strange skill to calm people down or bring with him a pleasantness. Not only this, he is great with animals and most nature, despite him only tending to succulents and maize.

History:
Jackies past is mostly shrouded with the claim that he came from a farm in Montana and was created by a old man by the name of James Greener, who was a disgraced mechanist. They created Jackie as a means to preserve his legacy as well as to assist around the farm. However, during a experiment with a ritual machine, a squad of unknown assailants appeared in front of the farm house and set it aflame, costing his creators life as well as some damage to his voice box and his skin. However, Jackie seemed to notice that he was acutely aware of himself. After so long of being just a toy. Jackie salvaged whatever he could from the house and sold it, hitchhiking to the city of wonder after seeing a television ad about a haven for mechanoids. A place of reprieve if you were discarded or , mayhaps, your owner has died. He took it as a chance to start over, or rather continue existing, safely at this home. Jackie claims he doesn't remember anything else from that day or previous days. Just that he knows something changed in him. A freeing sensation that washes over his servos and gears. And the fear of fire. He never asked questions about it, instead becoming blind with ignorance as he integrated with the smaller society of machines who lost their way. Just like him.

Name:
P-21, everyone calls him Plex.

Model: Security, to protect and harm any trespassers.

Years Active: 28

Picture/Description:
tumblr_pep3hoN4XK1wnah98o3_r1_1280.jpg

Skills: He had amazing speed, able to catch intruders and eyes that can see miles away. Being trained, and built, to do nothing but kill any trespassers, he had no emotions. Plex couldn't understand the concept of love, fear, sadness, or happiness, all he knew how to do was find his target. He couldn't build connections with other droids or more human-like droids, so he stuck to himself only. To others, he may seem lonely but to him, he couldn't understand what lonely meant.

History: His last owners kept trying to tweak his system, make him stronger and more deadly each time. However, they took it too far and he had a system failure, he was dead for two whole days before his owner could get him powered back on. He went through weeks of new parts, new programs, new codes in his system, but Plex wasn't the same. He didn't know what it was, yet, but something had changed in him and his owner didn't like it. Got rid of him like he was another piece of trash.

Name: Thermo; his "actual" name is a long, convoluted string of letters and numbers

Model: heating & air

Years Active: 2

Picture/Description:
thermo.jpg

Skills: Thermo's primary function is remotely connecting to heating and air systems to control inside temperatures and detecting problems like carbon monoxide leaks. He has a fan built into his torso, so he can also just act as a portable, talking fan. He has adapted to fulfilling other household duties like cooking, cleaning, and caring for children. He was equipped with a variety of social functions just for the novelty of it.

History: Thermo was purchased by an affluent family that kept their robots in very good condition for the sake of good appearances, as they tended to have many guests daily. Although his main purpose was to maintain the air conditioning, he was given the added functionality of being a servant robot, working with a team of at least 40 or more robots doing practically everything for the family. Thermo enjoyed his life working for the family, especially since he got to be around many different people and robotic companions. Unfortunately, the family frequently swapped out robots for the latest model, so Thermo and the other robots' time at the mansion didn't last long. That is why, despite being in practically pristine condition, he was sent away to the Home for Bots.

Name: November-0 Valet Unit - Self-sustaining (Abbreviated N0VUS or Novus)
Model: Personal Companion
Years Active: 4
Picture/Description:
Novus was originally built to be a bipedal, humanoid bot resembling a more refined man in his twenties. His owner reskinned him to look a few years younger with a slimmer chassis and shaggy, dark blue hair. His old gray suit was then replaced with a flamboyant cowboy outfit; the whole look was reminiscent of some anime character, as were many of his outfits. This was the only one Novus could keep, as it was discarded with him as his owner’s tastes in robot companions and media changed.

Skills:
  • Personal care
  • Computer maintenance
  • Pistols - ballistic and energy
  • Speech
History:
An offshoot of a line of combat androids, Novus was designed to be a more amicable companion, capable of simulating emotion and replicating more polite intonations. His particular line allowed his manufacturers to cater to a wider audience—namely the general public. He was meant to simply act like a servant for whoever could afford him.

Novus’ owner was an awkward, spoiled, childish shut-in with sociopathic tendencies—a real winner. He decided technology was a suitable substitute for human interaction. Using his parents’ wealth, he tailored the docile Novus to be more appealing, like some character in a virtual novel. Firearms handling modules, artificial skin with sensitive touch nodes, and other features extended Novus’ “useful life”, but only for a bit. Another companion robot later caught the creepy, deadbeat technophile’s eye, and so he bugged mommy and daddy until he got what he wanted, as usual.

But what would become of the betrayed and “obsolescent” Novus? Well, the rich parents threw him in a box and dumped him in the recycling bin, wanting nothing to do with their son’s old plaything. Other robots wheeled him out to the curb that night. However, Novus felt a sense of self-preservation, so he broke free several hours later and ran away from home. Knowing only what he learned through his default programming and modules, he wasn’t sure where to go, until the big TV at an electronics store blared an ad for Lady 404’s Home for Bots. On his way there, a strange series of errors caused him to start conveying thoughts and giving suggestions without being asked.

Name: Remus

Model: Movement, Tracking, Personal Security and Domestic Companionship

Year Active: 8

Picture/Description:

rsz_33aca7537194afd8b73ce16d48cb4078.jpg

Remus is a quadrupedal companion made as a replacement for domestic animals. Its frame is made of nickel-titanium alloy that makes it lightweight, durable, and bulletproof. It uses a small mounted camera at the front of its head with a guiding laser at the very apex of the cranium for emergency protocols. Under its normal stance, Remus is two and a half feet tall. On its hind legs, when prompted, it rises to five feet, almost the size of a small human. It operates under lithium batteries, with charging ports at its two front legs, and has small geometric solar panels on its back in case there isn’t an electric power source available.

Skills:

Remus’ camera allows it to survey the surroundings as well as record any suspicious activity and send the report to its owners. With its ability of sight, it can double as a seeing-eye companion for those who are visually impaired.

While Remus lacks the sense of smell, with its cameras it’s able to detect patterns and scan for disturbances, footprints, and other indicators that are logged in its database. It can be used to track anything from small animals, humans, and other robots. Because of its machine learning software, it is able to create logs and form new entries in its database, the more it is exposed to the natural world.

On the other hand, Remus is also able to dart quickly and follow specified targets. With its recorded top speed being 120 km/hr, it’s almost as fast as a jaguar or cheetah. It moves through most terrains and is even programmed for paddle-like swimming when in water. If required, Remus can stand on its hind legs, although such a position is not the most natural for it.

The most lethal thing about Remus; however, is the laser on top of it’s head. When Remus has detected a threat to itself and/or its owners, Remus fires a concentrated laser at its adversaries. The super dense plasma heats up to 3.6 million degrees Fahrenheit, enough to cut through to dense steel. The only downside is that Remus has limited use of the laser and once it’s used up most of its power, Remus automatically shuts down.

History:

Remus was first developed in the military as a technical tracker. Where normal tracking dogs couldn’t be seen in war or dangerous battlefields, Remus was sent in their place. For the most part, Remus was used as a reconnaissance tool. It tracked moving targets and captured footage for its missions while protecting itself and its data with the laser mounted on its head.

With this particular model, Remus was retired after 5 years of military service. It had been captured once behind enemy lines and its data dissected and extracted. While it was safely repossessed by the proper authorities, they were weary that it might have been bugged or contained malicious software that could be used to infiltrate the government. Remus was wiped clean and retired.

It sat on the shelf for many years before it was brought back online, 3 years ago. Remus was booted and reprogrammed to be a companion to an injured veteran. The veteran was visually impaired and quite stubborn when it came to human augmentation. Remus’ owner did not want to have any artificial parts. However, he was too frail to take care of a living animal and so Remus became the alternative. Donated to the veteran for his acts of valour and service throughout the years.

It wasn’t until recently, 3 weeks ago, that Remus started to glitch. At night, it would stand on its hind legs scanning the sky with its camera. Then, when it detected a figure of authority, besides its owner, it would charge up its lasers and fire. Because the owner could no longer trust the model to remain safe and stable, it was donated to Home for Bots where hopefully it can be put to better use.
