Thepotatogod

and it was this big
Roleplay Type(s)
All the world's a stage
The rift in space
brings naught grace,
but a waking craze.

Oh, Monsters born from stories
Tales within you that change the world
The land they walk, now you behold,
as they trample all without worry.

The tension between heaven and hell
See it reach the breaking point
Time marches on, one can tell.
It's the point where war breaks out.

Behold! Reality is breaking apart!
The time has come for the ancients to make their move!
To their cosmic scheme, this is where it all starts

Fiction starts to become our Truth

    >Area 51<
    >Restricted Military Base

Area 51. A place smack dab in the middle of a dusty nowhere--that nowhere being somewhere in Nevada. It's a military facility rumored to study extraterrestrial matters. Although it was a rumor then, it's nothing more than a fact now due to the rift that opened above the .

You made the long journey here because you were recruited to be a part of the world's first Civilian Recruited Driver Unit--Vinyl. It was originally a black ops unit comprised of 5 Privates, the Government recently ecided to actively recruit interested civilians with Drivers in response to the growing numbers in the Terrorist Organization The Scratch, led by the enigmatic DJ and his Twilight collection.

You and a few others arrive at the designated meeting place by bus--right outside two toll gates and a guard hut-- though it seems that no one but a single person was waiting there. A woman with long flowing hair, dressed casually like a haggard old man, smoking a cigarette.

    Veteran Youth

"Lemme guess, new recruits?" Her voice sounds vaguely like man's--low in pitch, yet high enough to be recognizably feminine. Yet despite her appearance, her stance is rather...Manly. "You lot are a bit early. As you can tell, no one from Vinyl's here yet. Shit changed around here since they got that mobile base of theirs." She sighs, rubbing her neck before leaning on one of the metal fence. "I finally got back in the force, and the first thing they make me do is watch over a bunch of Privates. Geez." She mumbles, soon taking a whiff of her cigarette.

Guess you'll have to wait a bit longer...

A sharp inhale caused Samus Aran to quickly snap back into existence. One moment the bounty hunter was surrounded by the null droning of an empty purgatory; floating in limbo within a pitch black void where she felt nothing but her thoughts coursing through her skull. Now she found herself back on her ship, where it was currently spiraling out of control and plummeting towards the metropolitan skyline! She already had a number of questions regarding her situation, as well as trying to remember what she was doing before, but now was not the time to dwell when her life was once again on the line. Quickly she sat up and began scrolling around with the holographic gyosphere with one hand, while her other pulled back on the throttle, forcing the ship's bottom thrusters to force upwards.

The purple gunship swerved violently with a sonic roar, before it began to stabilize and fly at a steady pace. Initial crisis adverted. But as Samus was about to plot a landing course at the nearest available piece of barren land, her onboard scanners bleeped loudly as they detected several individuals also falling from the sky. They identified all of them as humans, and their rapid descent was clear that they had nothing to stop them from falling to their deaths below. Samus had no idea who these individuals were, but something within her gut urged her to take action while she still could. In a split second decision, the bounty hunter swerved her ship to the left as it blasted forth towards their location, leaving a blue neon trail of plasma in its wake.

Once she approached the falling individuals, Samus proceeded to maneuver her gunship over the falling individuals, cutting her engines as if falling on top of them. However, what they would see as a shadow loomed over them, is a hatch open at the bottom of the hull. From it, a light green beam would emit and tried to pull anyone underneath into the vessel. As the only way to get into a ship, outside of an emergency exit on the back, this was an invitation to board the bounty hunter's ship and save themselves from imminent death that was quickly approaching~

"Leap before you think" was the motto, if that was even the right word for it, of Amaterasu and Issun. It seemed as if they were going to end up fighting another monster at first, but now they were realizing that thinking before leaping was probably the better idea.

"Any bright ideas about how to get out this, furball?" Issun spoke, fearing for the worst as they descended towards the city below.

Suddenly, a large shadow loomed over the falling god and "wandering artist," and before long a beam seemed to stop their fall. This caused both the white wolf and Issun to be confused. What had they gotten themselves into now?

The Judge Slizer's wing propellers instantly spun into action the second his optical sensors registered the cityscape below, slowing his descent significantly before bringing it to a complete stop. As he hung in the air, he could see he was not alone. A group of organics were also plummeting towards the ground and, if their screaming was any indication, it would seem that, unlike Planet Slizer's Guardian of the Skies, they had no means to stop their descent.

But that was their problem.

Judge had considered helping them... momentarily. His arms were free so, if he wished to, it would of been simple enough to swoop in and grab at least two of them, preventing them from becoming nothing but a bloody smear on the landscape. He did faintly recognise some of their number, he seemed to recall fighting alongside them after all, but still that didn't mean he owed them anything. Then again, Judge debated, it may prove useful to keep some of these biologicals around. At least until he had a better understanding of the situation he now found himself thrust into.

The Slizer's musings were interrupted by a shadow looming overhead. Judge craned his head upwards and could see a gunship falling towards him. Fearing a collision with the larger craft, he reacted swiftly, barrel-rolling out of the way, as it continued down past him and after the organics. The supersonic Slizer watched the ship curiously for several seconds before deciding, with little else to go on right now, to pursue it (and the others) and see what happened.

  • "WOAAAAH!" The red haired lad was understandably freaked out when he was suddenly being pulled up by something--a bright green light enveloping him, drawing him and his God Arc close to something. Before he could react any further, the man mumbled as he suddenly found himself inside somewhere he could describe as a ship that's straight out of Bugarally--futuristic as all frick. As he landed on his butt against the cold hard floor of this ship, he noticed how spacious it really is, though the equipment around makes it seem a tad cramped. Not to mention how dark it is, with the only light sources being the consoles and controls by the cockpit, which was nearby all things considered. Catching his breath, the red haired lad turned to the pilot of the ship.

"Phew...Thanks for the, uh, extraction, dude! You really saved my bacon there, hahaha...!" He nervously chuckled as he thanked the pilot, grabbing his God Arc with a heavy sigh to see that it was still with him--A God Eater's useless without his God Arc, after all.

One by one, the others started to appear inside of Samus' ship as she planned, all of them being beamed up by a green light then landing on its floor. The first of which being a pair of critters--a dog and a sort of bug man riding ontop of him, then what looks like. Then teal haired highschooler, clad in a black uniform, as well as the unconscious body of a brown haired man, wearing a striped shirt and a pink cardigan--along with everyone else who decided to enter Samus' ship through the green beam.

At this point, the red head had just about caught his breath and is resting on the corner of the ship, looking at the new arrivals.

"'Sup y'all." He greeted, and the yellow clad english lady responded in kind.

"Good day to you, too." She said, tipping the small hat on atop her brown hair.

"Huh...I didn't think it was possible to fall asleep back in that crazy place." The man said, noticing the unconscious brown haired man. "I mean, he's not dead, is he?"

"Maybe he was asleep when we all got stuck in there." The brown haired english lady deduced, "That, or he actually did something to get us out here..."

"That's impossible. We can't even lift a damn finger in there. Doubt even he can do shit in there." The black haired man spat before turning to him with a wide eye, almost as if it's possible, in some morbid way.

"Hmm. You know a lot about him than you let on, mister." She smiled, "You two friends?"

"Um...This is a pretty amazing ship, isn't it?" The teal haired woman spoke, trying to break the tension between the two as she glanced around the vessel aboard. "It's l-like something out of science fiction."

"Yeah. It's pretty neat." The redhead said, glancing at the pilot. "So, uh...Does anyone actually remember how we got there?" He asked, scratching his head.

"I'm not sure about that actually." The brown haired lady said, "I feel like I've met you all somewhere, but at the same time, we're total strangers." She rubbed her chin before clapping her hands with a rather excited look in her eyes. "Let's fix that, shall we? A round of introductions from everyone, if you all would~!" She twirled, gesturing to the various guests sucked onto Samus' ship.

"You seem awfully energetic after just falling..." The jacket wearing teen said, scratching the back of his neck with a groan.

Lena Sharp | Area 51 | just figuring out what's up

Lena was distracted, but wasn't like she wasn't paying attention or anything. No, she was paying too much to far too many things. How could she not?

She was in Area 51. As in, the actual real-deal aliens-are-real-and-this-is-where-they're-hiding-them Area 51, and she just...had to take a moment to take it all in. Every fence link, every drab building, every stretch of pavement, every scrub-like grass tuft, every...okay, so there's wasn't all that much to see, exactly. Not yet, anyways. It was just a whole lot of desert at the moment. Still, even though this kind of thing fell nowhere near her prior scope of interest, she couldn't help but be infected with just a shred of giddiness at the magnanimity of being in such a place as this. It certainly wasn't the kind of situation she would have pictured herself in a few years ago, that was for sure.

She took a moment to observe that singular person who was waiting for them at the spot where the bus let them out, a woman dressed in haggard clothes that looked like a man's and smoking a cigarette, giving at first glance the very distinct impression of being a person who was not so enthusiastic about being here. Lena guessed she could have figured it would be like this. The unfortunate part about this situation was that she just joined a entry-level civilian unit, which meant that in comparison to literally everyone else military-associated, they would be at the bottom of the totem pole. It made sense that only one person would even bother to show up.

"Lemme guess, new recruits?" she greeted in lieu of introducing herself or anything like that. "You lot are a bit early. As you can tell, no one from Vinyl's here yet. Shit changed around here since they got that mobile base of theirs."

Well, if she wasn't going to tell them anything else, Lena figured she might as well be the one to prompt her. Someone had to do it. She raised her hand high and talked as she did so. "So, who are you?" she asked simply. She...kind of wished she had a little more to say, though. She needed to at least make a half attempt to sound intelligent. "Are you the one we'll be reporting to?" Yeah, that sounded better.

Noel and Erika Hagakure

How much time had passed since they have arrived? Perhaps plenty? Still it was a long time since the two had separated, or rather Erika had long abandoned her family for the sake of a giving them better lives. Yet things have been awkward for the two of them. They both have Drivers, Discs and reasons as to why they joined Vinyl, yet all of these still doesn't make any more sense. Once they have arrived, they're greeted by a woman dressed in men's clothing.

She asked if they're the new recruits and informs them that the people from Vinyl have yet to arrive. This means that there will be more waiting for the new recruits. For the meantime, Erika glances at Noel before walking over to the woman and asked "Since we're waiting for them, mind tossing me a stick? I could use a good puff puff pass before the orientation or whatever." Noel watched her aloof sister ask for a cigarette, not that she doesn't mind but she finds it a bit too uncharacteristic of her, at least when she used to know.

"Erika, how long has it been? You've...changed quite considerably as if you're not the sister that I've used to know. It is as of you're a completely different person, a stranger rather."

d8ls60jd5nk41.jpgIka open her eyes and it took her a min to realize she was falling. She looked around panicking and was quite confused. "WHAT THE SQUID IS HAPPENING?!" She looked around at the others who were falling with her and well...she had no idea who the heck they were. Before she could remember that she could actually make herself lighter and just glide down she suddenly found herself being pulled in by a strange green light. Once she pulled she realized it was a ship. She stood up and looked around. Honestly she was really confused to what the heck was going on. Her mind was all fuzzy. She watched the others as they talked. It was they seemed familiar but at the same time she had no idea who the heck they were. "Wait....where even am I?" Ika said to herself as she started looking around the ship again. She was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the lady wearing the yellow hat say something about introducing themselves. "I'll go first!...Hmm hold on its kind of dark in here." Ika closed her eyes and her body started to glow giving off light. "There that's better! Now....I'm Ika Musume! A messenger of the Sea! I was trying to take over mankind but......." Ika crossed her arms and closed her eyes thinking. "I can't seem to remember anything."

As the gunship neared their quarry prior to engaging her rescue maneuver, the onboard systems detected at least three more individuals falling alongside the initial party. There appeared to be more units coming from the rift, although she couldn't exactly tell how many in total. Judging by the total number in her sights, It was going to be a tight fit having them all come aboard, but she wasn't going to pick and choose now. There should be enough space to fit them all.

Once Samus extracted all the assets, she reverted back power to the ship's engines and continued her course towards the city below. She already was plotting a course towards her landing spot, although she still had a few minutes before they would get there. A shame this vessel lacked the auto-piloting capabilities of her old ship; she wouldn't mind taking a moment to gather her thoughts and figure out what was going on.

One of the passengers, a young man with brownish-orange hair, thanked the bounty hunter for saving them before greeting everyone else in the ship. Samus wouldn't respond, but glanced back in acknowledgement. She didn't even bother correcting the man calling her a "dude", not that it mattered much considering she was so used to it by now it didn't faze her in the slightest. It was a common misconception for anyone seeing her for the first time within her power suit, and she couldn't blame them.

As they continued descending, she would pick up another life signature of an airborne asset following them. At first Samus thought it was an enemy that was in hot pursuit, but considering how it didn't seem to be rapidly advancing on her, she assumed it was simply following them. Still she had to be cautious... at least until they land that is.

Issun listened to the others talk, still wondering what the heck just happened. First he and Amaterasu were caught in a bright light, and the next thing that they know, they were on a strange "ship" as the others called it.

" What kind of ship flies? I thought that they could only sail in water." Issun thought, while Amaterasu tried to find an area to sit down, but with little to no luck.

Upon the strange-looking, hyper lady's request for introductions, Issun snapped out of his thoughts.

"I'm Issun the wandering artist. The wolf's name is Amaterasu, but you can call her Ammy. Furball works too." Issun said, only to get shaken off by Amaterasu, who expressed her displeasure at not being able to move that much.

"That's right, Privates. My superiors asked me to meet up with the lot of you the day of my reinstating." The woman said, "Brigadier General Werner Smith. No, as of now, it's just Sargent Werner Smith. Had to retire young due to my injuries back in the '40s." She introduced herself, puffing a smoke and dropping it, stepping on it. "Blame the Driver for my new look--this fucking thing nearly killed me the night I got it. And all I wanted was to fight again in the force." She said, pulling back her sleeve to reveal a Driver-- an armband around her left forearm that appears to be a mini DVD player.

After explaining that, the elder Hagakure sister approached her and asked for a cigarette. Werner obliged, handing her one directly from the pack she just pulled out.

"Eh, I'm the one who's doing it anyway." Werner says, "They even made me prepare a whole speech for it--can't say that I'll follow it to a T, though. I just wanna bust some heads already." She chuckled to herself, taking out a stick and biting it. Werner soon pockets the pack and takes out a lighter to light their cigarettes. "So you're CIA or something if I read right? How'd you get your hand on your Driver?" She asked, curious on why a government agent would be reassigned to Vinyl of all things.

"Much appreciated." Erika thanked Werner as she takes the cigarette and pop it on her mouth. Weber then lights up the sticks and Erika let's out a fat one. Werner asked if she is part of the CIA and how she got her Driver. "Yeah, I was before my superior issued a transfer over here. How I got my Driver...is something that I would rather not talk about. At all." Erika replied, not wanting to remind herself of the tragedy that befell her partner.

At the same time, Noel continues to watch her sister from afar.

Elam Ren | Area 51 | quiet observation mode

It didn't more than a few looks around this place to make that tiny voice inside Elam's head (the one that actually sounded like himself) to question once again if he was really by any stretch of the imagination prepared for what he was getting into. They were all talking to this woman who seemed like your classic "I've seen some things, kid" war vet, smoking a cigarette and making Elam fight not to cough out loud, since that would be rude (and now one of his teammates was asking to smoke too, that was...great...just great). Elam just took a few very subtle steps backwards to keep his distance. But besides that, he had all of his teammates to observe, too...and, well, they definitely looked way more prepared for this than he was. Both sharper and stronger. The guy with the beard he was standing beside right now was...well, huge. Definitely looked like he had muscles. He wondered if he had fighting experience. That woman in the uniform asking for the cigarette certainly looked like she did. With Elam...yeah, he got involved with this more by luck, if "luck" was the right word for it. That monster from another world that attacked his home town—a "Deathstalker" was what it was called, right? A creature of "Grimm," they said. Yeah, he faced it...somehow. Using Greed's disc, he was able to make his body as hard as a rock, so the giant scorpion wouldn't skewer him. He guessed that display was the reason why someone thought to tell him about the Vinyl. He wouldn't have been able to do anything at all if it wasn't for Greed, though...and Hu Tao, for that matter.

Well, at least this gave him a good reason to postpone college applications.

"Aiya...why so 'grim,' hehe? You just made it into the cool secret club! Be excited!" Hu Tao spoke straight into his brain, a result of her disc being close by his side.

"It's...not a 'secret club'..." he reminded her in turn, feeling increasingly exhausted just by standing here.

"Ask them about the shiny spin-spin plates!"

"The...what?"

Lena Sharp | Area 51 | Talking to: Erika Hagakure ( Topless Topless ) | Mentioning: Werner Smith, Noelle Hagakure
| starting to get a clue about what's going on

So, Sargent Werner Smith, huh? She...seemed like someone with experience. Retired all the way back in the '40s? Lena wondered what she had been doing since then. She also wondered what those injuries were. Or how she got them. It wasn't as if the details of her life had any specific importance to the rest of them, but if they were going to be working together for a while, it would be nice to know a little more about who she was. Besides, the injury part could potentially be something that could flare up, so it was kind of important. Besides, Lena couldn't help but be a little curious.

"They even made me prepare a whole speech for it—can't say that I'll follow it to a T, though. I just wanna bust some heads already."

Ah, so she was ready for a fight. Perhaps a more action-oriented type. Someone who felt at home on the battlefield. It was understandable, although Lena did hope they would have ample planning before the "busting heads" part started. Although it was true, Lena also hoped they wouldn't stay on the sidelines for too long. She didn't like waiting, or just inaction in general. Whether physical or mental, she liked having something challenging to sink her teeth into.

Lena listened as Werner asked this lady dressed like some sort of officer about how she got her disc, getting the reply that she would rather not talk about it.

"How I got my Driver...is something that I would rather not talk about. At all."

Rough story, then? Lena wondered what happened...was it a problem with the surrounding circumstance, or with the discs themselves? She was aware that her own discs and driver were gained more or less by dumb luck, so it stood to reason that someone else out there would have it rougher. Still, she wondered about the nature of it...maybe a few unrelated questions wouldn't hurt. "So what are your discs, then?" she asked with an air of casualness, looking into the orange-haired woman's eyes and also making a few glances at the younger girl who looked like she could be her sister. "Or, who are they, rather. You don't have to tell us what happened with your driver or anything, but were they able to help with whatever happened?"

Lena remembered finding the fallen discs for the first time, and hearing voices from them. The ones she picked up were...people she resonated with, you could say. It was hard to explain. She was aware that they were likely not "real" in the usual sense of the word, existing maybe as something of a copy from their otherworld counterpart, or an echo. Like, "ghost data," if you will. Existing in a disc, they had to be like an AI of sorts, not exactly the same as the people they remembered themselves being. But they still seemed to have memories, so Lena got to learn their stories, and...she thinks they were good people, in some sense of the word, so she didn't mind keeping them around.

She wondered what kind of discs other people decided to keep around, for that reason. What kind of voices they were listening to, whose power they might be using. Who they might transform into nearly completely, if they were a shifter like her. She wanted to know what kind of people she was working with. So yeah, their discs seemed like a good thing to ask about.

Area 51:

Isaac Silverman believed in coming prepared. Which was why he'd packed 3 portable batteries for his smartphone in case he had to wait here. He'd managed to get through every update of the webnovel he was reading before any of the people gathered here actually said anything. Soundwave's tech abilities had allowed him to rebuild his phone so that it could charge AND have headphones plugged into it, but he wasn't unaware of what was happening around him. Even before spending time as Hazama and Soundwave Isaac had been good at multitasking.

Apparently they were going to be led by an elderly General who'd gotten a youthful body from her disc. Which raised their value in his opinion, who wouldn't want eternal youth and maybe a shot at immortality, even if it's not in exactly the same body? For now he stayed silent though, best not to draw attention until he had something he actually wanted to say. Plus despite having come here hoping for a job, Isaac wasn't the type to give something away if he could get something for it. Best to let the others give out information before seeing if it was worth him adding anything.

Honestly this was just so boring. He hadn't expected to have to fight after arriving, but still just standing around and talking was dull. Fictional characters were appearing in the real world, but once again something that should have been exciting ended up with the fun sucked out. Still it did raise questions of consciousness, responsibilities of writers (Going by what Isaac could see from now on every character created would have to be judged on how bad it would be if they appeared in the real world), etc.

It didn't help that all of Isaac's Discs craved combat. Soundwave had no Megatron to be loyal to, so that left the second best gladiator on Kaon with nothing to fill the void but fighting and self-improvement. Hazama was all about crushing the hope of opponents and SpaceGodzilla just wanted to destroy everything. So Isaac tended to only use Soundwave outside of combat. Which he really hadn't seen any of.

"Ammy? Nah, she won't bite you. If you provoke her, she might use her celestial brush on you, but that is not likely. Right, Amaterasu?" Issun answered the teal-haired schoolgirl. His last sentence was directed at Amaterasu though, who was still whining about the lack of space.

"Ammy? You alright? You usually don't whine this much." Issun asked his god friend, who soon stopped whining and turned her attention to the ship's driver, Samus.

The she-wolf sun goddess was curious about the suit of armor. It didn't look like any armor in Nippon, but it didn't smell like a demon. In fact, it would seem that there was a indeed a mortal human under the armor. Amaterasu walked towards Samus and watched her, trying to figure who, or what Samus was.

<:Landing_Protocol_Engaged:>

The gunship soon reaches its destination, landing in a secluded forest a good distance away from the city. Samus deemed it too risky to land in the middle of an unknown establishment, not knowing if the locals there were hostile or not. It didn't appear that the city was very technologically advanced, but it would be wise of her not to underestimate their capabilities. The gunship lowered a boarding ramp, allowing everyone to leave the ship. The bounty hunter proceeded to silently walk out and glance at her immediate surroundings, quickly finding a sign by the road that read "Anytown, Florida".

Samus hadn't heard of such a town before, but she was familiar with the state name "Florida". This must be planet Earth! or at least A PLANET EARTH. The one she was familiar was much more technologically advanced and more populated, a powerful space power that had colonized various worlds under the title as "the Galactic Federation". While it was possible that she was in a less populated town and that it hadn't caught up with the other major establishments, Samus felt something off about this world. And the fact she was here with a band of random characters falling out of the sky, who were also confused regarding their surroundings, was also quite telling. She needed answers; just the question of where and what to do next.

Turning back towards the group, Samus glanced to see one of the individuals approach her - a white wolf with unique orange markings. If she overheard correctly, this was Amaterasu. Samus' glowing visor looked back blankly, also observing the wolf curiously. If Ammy looked closely, she could for a moment make out the eyes inside thanks to the light glaring against her visor at just the right angle. Her eyes were stern, but not in a hostile manner. If anything, Samus was nearly just as curious as the wolf. The huntress glanced back at the individuals by her ship; already getting acquainted with each other. She was never the type for casual formalities, though she was relieved the others weren't actively going for each others throats.

Assuring everyone was fine between them, Samus felt confident about leaving them for the time being. She made sure to lock the ship up so neither could hijack it if they so wanted. With that she turned and began walking down the lonesome forest road alone, searching for anything hinting as to why they were all here...

Arthur Kingsley opened his eyes. He was falling. In the sky. With no chute. Before he could gather his bearings, he could hear others screaming as they fell, but he couldn't see them or reach them. All he could do was pull the chord on his parachute and grab hold of the strapped backpack as the massive cloth unfurled, wooshing back as it stopped his immediate fall.

He could see some kind of metal plane flying around and taking the other people falling from the sky before it turned and headed in his direction. Sadly, he could do nothing to stop it, as he both lacked the weapons and armor to tackle a vessel that fast and that large. Before he could reach for his sidearm he was pulled up into the light and soon found himself on his hands and knees as he fought to catch his breath. Once he saw the others, he got to his feet and pulled a pair of goggles and a red beret from one of his body pockets and put them on.

"What just happened? Who are you people? Why did you abduct me?" he asked firmly, his body tense as he let a hand fall near his sidearm.

"Fair 'nuff." Werner nods as she was denied the opportunity to listen to a fellow soldier's experience in obtaining a Driver. Soon enough, the same recruit who asked her for her name asked about Agent Hagakure's discs, to which Werner already knew, but decided to just continue to smoke as the Recruits finally got out of the bus at their own pace.

She eyed them up, sizing them up to check if they should really be let in--although the applications were final and there were no need for actual military training, as a veteran, Werner believes she has the final say on this.

First up was the girl with white hair fiddling with her pendant. She seemed nervous and is most likely the shy type--very useless in combat, although her discs says otherwise. Her Driver has the Basic Armament Driver Ability, which lets her use the powers of the characters of her disc--one was of them was a Cookie with a dark sword that generates black and red lightning, and the other was Soul Transfer--which manifests as immortality for her. While being able to get up after any injury sounds great, Werner still thinks she would need the most training out of everyone.

Next on the list was Elam Ren--Highschool graduate, perfect candidate for a new Recruit, she'd argue. He had some combat experience, at least. Judging by the report handed to her, he fended off a Deathstalker Grimm a while back--which coincided with reports of a RWBY ReRun. Identified by Roosterteeth themselves after obtaining a photo of it. We're still ascertaining its whereabouts and what else it brought with it, but at least they got something out of him.

Then Lena Sharpe---the curious girl. A black girl with thick hair. Currently questioning Agent Hagakure and asking about the discs. Probably annoying, Werner thinks, though her ability was more interesting. Pause--the ability to temporarily stop time to think. Considering that she has that intellectual personality, it's no secret that her use would come from that.

Isaac Silverman. She didn't care to read about him as much as the others, but he probably has the most unique Shifter ability out of all of the Recruits thus far. Henshin--it basically coats the user in an outfit based on the disc, sacrificing its general size and sheer power. That explains why he has 2 giants on his arsenal.

Zackery Willerman, possibly the most instinct related Driver. His ability is Alert which warns him anything that'll come close to hurting him around 30 feet. Useful--and reckless, like Werner. Werner feels like they'll get along quite well in combat.

The big man, Yugo Saluzar. Old enough to be in the military for several years already, yet despite his age, he can act like a little bitch. Werner believes if he can get rid of that flaw of his, he'll be unstoppable--his ability can essentially revert everything back to normal after dying once. Useful, if he uses it well. Along with that Penelope girl, Yugo is up there on Werner's to train list.

Lastly, the Hagakure Sisters. Daughters of a very religious family. Werner isn't a man of god, but he does now that he'll go to hell when he dies at least. Agent Erika Hagakure is well known on her agency. Rumored to have a partner long ago under the name of Kowalski--like all tragic femme fatales, Kowalski disappeared when Hagakure gained her Driver. Coincidence? Werner thinks not.

Although the more unique part of the two is Noel--her Driver Ability is similar to the Vinyl Captain's ability, 'Groupwork', which basically allows the Cap to clone himself up to 5. Noel's ability, Divide, works differently. For one, she can only split in half--and that other half is a split personality. Now we don't know if Noel had said disorder before gaining her Driver, but it's safe to assume that she has now one.

After Erika either agrees or denies Lena's query to disclose her discs, a blonde figure suddenly appears beside her, appearing in a slit of space, lying on virtually nothing.

    latest.png

    {[Yukari Yakumo]}
    Mistress of The Boundary

"It has gotten rather lively, hasn't it dear?" The blonde spoke sweetly, giggling to herself.

"What the hell do you want now, Yakumo?" Werner asks, clicking her tongue as she checked her Driver--the module which lets him use his Driver Ability, Summon, has suddenly kicked on.

"I just woke up, so I'm frighteningly bored." She said, "Oh, by the way, they're gonna get here soon. You have something to take care off before then, right~?"

"Yeah, yeah. Thanks for the heads up." Werner says, turning off the Summon module which made Yukari disappear with a lively Ta-ta~. She sighs, cricking her neck. Yukari was the reason his body was like this in the first place. Had she gotten an Armament Type instead of a Shifter Type, perhaps Werner would've looked more like a young man. Though usually, they can't talk like Yukari could. Perhaps it's because she's far too powerful.

"Alright, listen up!" Werner's voice became rather stern and serious, crossing her arms. "This is mostly everyone, yeah? Let's get this briefing over with before Vinyl touches down." She said, clearing her throat. "50 years ago, that giant hole showed up." She pointed up to the sky, showing a rather familiar sight to everyone--a giant purple crack, the insides wriggling and rippling like water. "And from that hole came your Discs and Drivers. Those things caused chaos for a good while. Governments were nearly toppled, Anarchists got their way--and Americans got to shoot everything without getting charged with murder." He explained loosely, taking out of of the discs he has-- a rather small, palm sized red disc. "All because of this thing. And those that cause said disasters are a worldwide criminal organization known as Scratch. We don't know where they came from, but we do know that they've been operating ever since the first disc was dropped from that thing." She says, pocketing the disc. "Now I won't go into detail on what the Discs and Drivers are. For fuck's sake, you lot probably know what they do better than me." She sighs, "...That aside, Vinyl was a small military sector formed a few years ago by 5 Government Agents who had Drivers. At first, they were black ops sent to investigate and attempt to capture Scratch's leader, The DJ." She explains, as in the distance, something was closing in--a large aircraft. "For a while, that's all they did. Until the first ReRun showed up here in Area 51." She glanced behind her, seeing that the main hosts had finally arrived.

    --Grand Nuage--
    Guardian Mobile Base

"Along with that gaudy looking airship--the Grand Nuage." Werner pointed at the airship as it descends from the sky, "Of course, no one knew what those ReRun things were at first, but we know that they share certain traits and elements from Fictional Media. Hence, the term ReRun." She explains, "The one that owned the Grand Nuage was the Megaman ZX ReRun--based on the DS Game of the same name. The Vinyl Drivers were dispatched quickly took care of it and seized the ship. Realizing that ReRun sightings are becoming more and more frequent over the years--you get the gist at this point." She turned back to the Recruits. "Remember when I said Vinyl got their mobile base?" She smiles a tad mockingly. "That's the one." She points back with a thumb.

"And it's a good base, too!" Asked a gruff sounding middle aged man, who had jumped off of the Grand Nuage while Werner explained. Clad in a black longsleeves, an orange vest with a purple scarf and black cargo slacks, the man landed on the bus the Recruits arrived on, denting the vehicle. "It's fast, sleek--and delightfully pink. A fitting color for an organization of Justice, don't you think?"

"Captain Timothy Lead." Werner said, chuckling a bit. "You have better ears than I thought."

"Of course I do. How else would I take over your orientation with style?" Timothy asked, hopping off of the top of the bus before shrugging at Werner. "...That's what the manual told me to do anyway."

    "The manual?"

"I'll explain later, Sargent." Timothy brushed off the topic as he walked and stood beside the haggard man. "As of today, you will be a part of Vinyl Driver Special Forces. You will all board the Grand Nuage and be assigned a living quarters inside." Timothy explains as the Grand Nuage finally touches down--the toll gates raising as if on cue. "You are free to bring up any luggage you may have. Any questions before we begin boarding procedures?" He asks, as a ramp starts to extend itself from the side of the ship, leading up to the ship's outer deck.

Arthur chose to go first, fixing the boy with a light glare. He didn’t understand anything he had said, but then again he never planned on staying.

“Son I don’t have time for games. I need to get back to my squad. They need me to lead the final push to Stalingrad. So tell me where the nearest F.O.B is and I’ll be on my way.”

(Ignore the Storm Sounds)

After a lengthy trek down the empty road, it would eventually lead Samus towards the outskirts of Anytown. The overall journey was uneventful, having encountering no resistance whatsoever. Still it brought the bounty hunter some much needed serenity; enough to have a moment to herself without the ensuing chaos. She needed it. It wasn't often she had time to be left alone in her thoughts. Yet once Samus set foot into civilization, her calming thoughts vanished before feeling a shiver of dread crawl up her spine.

The bounty hunter was no stranger to deserted locations, whether they resemble sparse villages or abandoned ships, but her instincts would always be on high alert. Here was no different. The street she was on was almost completely devoid of life. The only objects on the road she could see were a parked vehicle or two on either side of the road, and they seemed relatively in good condition. Whatever happened here seemed to have occurred fairly recently; turning the place into a literal ghost town.

It wasn't until she was a bit deeper in where she would catch glimpses of the inhabitants. It appeared as if the city wasn't as empty as Samus thought. She could see small groups of people in the darkened shops, some crouching down as soon as she locked eyes with them. Others could be founding lurking in the shadows, hiding behind dumpsters and trash piles, with those out in the open scurrying towards the nearest building or any form of cover. It was clear they weren't acting cowardly for any nefarious purpose; nor necessarily because of Samus in particular.

Whatever drove the inhabitants into hiding must still be at large.

The huntress laid her hand upon her arm cannon, raising it cautiously while shifting her gaze from point to point. It was only a matter of time till she'd make contact with the enemy...

Noel and Erika Hagakure

Some girl asked Erika about what her Discs are and if they ever helped her from the incident that costed Kowalski's life. Of course, Erika wouldn't just give her any information about them. "Sorry, can't disclose anything until the time is right. But what I can say is that they've been a great help anyway." She said before taking in another big puff and blows it out just as some blondie appear besides Werner to inform her of the arrival of Vinyl. When she acknowledged it, the blondie disappears. For Erika, she didn't pay no mind. Noel on the other was a bit freaked out, letting out a small "yelp". Werner begins the briefing.

Pointing up high to the sky is the rift that the Drivers and Discs fell out. It was the one thing that changed the world forever. She explained how the rift affected the world which lead to the creations of both the Scratchers and Vinyl. Ericka knows about those two factions since she was working with the CIA, but Noel has very little knowledge about them. From that point, a large airship makes it's descent. Noel was in awe of the design and marvel of the ship while Erika didn't much react to it. A man walks out of the ship, Captain Timothy Lead, and declares the new recruits as part of Vinyl. He then asked if the recruits have any questions before they board the ship.

Erika steps up to the captain and asked "I do; how much are you guys getting paid for eliminating both Scratcher and ReRun alike? What are the benefits for being a Vinyl member? Are we allowed to have any communication to our friends and family? Do we have some sort of insurance policy?" Noel walks over to Erika and asked "Erika, isn't that way too much questions?" Erika glances at her little sister and say "I just want to make sure."

"Payment varies from mission to mission, but we get at least 500k as a weekly salary. Which is great, considering how much we're risking our lives and sanity here. You get 30 days annual paid vacation. Health and Dental Care--the usual military benefits, which includes life insurance and the recently formed Ego Insurance--if you ever get Ego Broken, your family can take out insurance." Timothy explains, turning to Werner. "Oh yeah, Werner, have you explained to them what Ego Break means yet?"

"Basically, you use your Disc too much or your disc is too powerful, your mind gets rewritten painfully. Usually, in an instant." Werner explains while huffing her remaining stick before stamping it out, "When that happens, your mind and memories--in some cases, even bodies, are permanently molded into that disc's entire personality and being. As of now, no one's been able to cure it, so we count it as an on service death."

"Good enough." Timothy shrugged, continuing with his explanation. "But with the addition of having access to potentially any other disc under the Vinyl library. The only catch is that you can't take them unauthorized. On your free hours, you are allowed to do as you please except leave the ship--so yes, you can communicate to your family, though of course, only using assigned communicators."
