Something is eroding the Digital World...

Rivers have dried up, swaths of forests cleared, and villages gone. But the data hasn't been altered or corrupted, it's gone altogether. It began in remote regions, far from the watchful eyes of Yggdrasil and their Royal Knights. Now, the damage is spreading and not even the knights are able to keep up with protecting the world's inhabitants while searching for the cause of this damage. Desperate to save their home, they choose to attempt to recreate ancient legends of humans crossing to the Digital World and saving it from destruction.

Humans with the potential to resonate with the mythical crests and ancient spirits are found, and their partners selected. All that remains is to bring them here...

Welcome to Digimon New World!
Ripped from their normal lives, 9 characters awaken to find themselves in a clearing in a new world. Soon meeting their fated companions and the heavy task that awaits them, they'll venture across the far reaches of the Digital World in the hopes of saving it. But their Digimon won't have to fight alone for long. Gaining the power of long slumbering legendary spirits, these destined will be able to fight shoulder to shoulder with their partners.

Some ground rules and expectations:

• RPN rules apply: Should go without saying, but may as well say it anyway.
• The GM and any potential co-GMs have final say: It'll probably just be me running the show, but I might rope someone in to help if needed.
• No godmodding: Broadly speaking godmodding refers to controlling someone else's characters by writing their reactions or confirming attacks on them in your own post. This isn't very fun to deal with for the other person and not conducive to good roleplaying. Don't ever do it to another player without their permission and be careful about doing it to NPC's.
• This is a collaborative project: Have a plot idea or a little arc you wanna do? Then share it! I'm all for players running their own missions down the line once we've finished the initial few arcs and the game opens up a bit.
• This is a detailed RP: While I know it's not always possible to write novel length posts, such as in combat, I do ask that you try to aim for a minimum of three paragraphs with proofreading. It gives the other players more to work with and makes it more engaging for everyone.
• That said, I'm not expecting super fast rotations: Things are crazy for just about everyone and IRL stuff always comes first. My goal is for a rotation every two weeks.
• There will be a list of partner Digimon to choose from when it comes time to make your sheets.

Pretty much. I did try to include a bunch in there for people. If there’s an alternate version of one (like how Agumon has like five different variations) I’d probably be open to swapping that in.

You'd be playing your own partner! I think I'd lose my mind playing my own character, nine Digimon, and all the NPCs xD

Another question, how do Spirits work? Since I noticed there's a separate section for them. Are there going to be some characters who can turn into those Digimon instead of having a partner?

Players will have access to both down the line! I've personally never been a huge fan of how the human partners are almost just evolution batteries since it's not like they have to issue commands like to a Pokemon lol.
