Cyra L. Therion

You losers better get ready! It’s go time!
Cyra

  • Age: 20(? Subject to change based on the rest of the group.)
    Crest: Courage!
    Partner: Renamon

Personality: Cyra is a ray of sunshine! As in lightning quick, blindingly intense and able to burn you if you aren’t careful. She’s a brash, foul-mouthed spitfire, who has yet to learn her lesson despite everyone around her trying their damn best. The biggest problem is that under her arrogance is a genuinely brilliant person. When Cyra wants to succeed she will work three times as hard as anyone else, ignoring everything around her in pursuit of her goals. Sure, she talks a big game and acts like she’s above everyone else— but she’s worked for her place.

In her eyes, there is nothing as great as conflict. A spar, a digimon battle, an argument— trading blows makes a person grow the fastest, and is the quickest way to learn what they’re really like. In that way, her abrasive attitude is almost a sign in her mind. Cyra doesn’t bother people she truly loathes, but will antagonize her friends to no end. Despite this she can be almost aggressively supportive, snapping back at people who insult those she cares about and violently fighting back against the slightest bit of self-deprecation.

While losses tend to be just exhilarating as wins, and insults simply add more fuel to the fire, Cyra can be hurt. Some little bit of her craves affirmation from the handful of people she loves and respects. True disapproval? A disappointment coming from something deeper than annoyance? Or worse, finding she’s really and truly pushed too far? As much as she hates to admit it, Cyra fears that more than death itself. She can stand being despised, but alone? Nightmarish.

History: From the moment she opened her eyes, Cyra was causing trouble. Though her grandfather tried to teach her the manners befitting of their old money, she dodged every attempt to instill any decorum in her. It seemed like the harder he tried, the more she pushed back and now outlet ever seemed to direct that defiant energy.

The thing that got closest was sword fighting. Cyra had been put in fencing the moment she was old enough to, and though she picked up on forms and stances easily she found the sport dreadfully boring. Too many rules and restrictions for something that was supposed to be a fight.

Eventually this led to her joining a local Historical European Martial Arts group where some idiot made the mistake of handing her a real sword. She quickly became one of the best fighters for her age group, a cheerful whirlwind of steel most people were hesitant to challenge. Even there her rough and abrasive personality didn’t earn her many friends... but she did make one. A friend and rival who could blunt some of her rougher edges while still pushing her to do better.

Then along came the tournament. It wasn’t anything too special— a series of brackets where each participant was free to choose whatever weapons and styles they wished rather than locking them to mirror matches. To Cyra it was the biggest day of her life, a time to show everyone she was the best once and for all. The semi finals ended up being Cyra against her friend, and she prepared for the no holds barred battle they had never had. One that her friend denied her, raising a fury in Cyra that she had never felt before, one so sickening and overpowering that she made a very terrible mistake.

The incident got her kicked out of the group and banned from every one in driving distance. Accidents were one thing, but what Cyra had done could not be seen as such. She’s barely touched her swords since then, wallowing in bad shounen and JRPGs while waiting for something to change. And little does she know something is about to come and flip her world upside down.

I was kidding when I said today couldn't get worse.
Alex

  • Age: 20
Gender: Nonbinary (Mainly uses they/them, but is fine with any pronouns)
    Crest: Light
    Partner: Patamon

Personality: Alex has never been one to stand out, often hanging in the back and observing as events play out. Seemingly invisible in most interactions, they've taken to learning what they can by listening in and watching. An artist at heart, Alex's mind is prone to wandering in these instances. They can't help but picture scenarios to fill in the scenery around them, and in turn use those scenarios to fill in pages of sketches while they wait. The embodiment of a tired artist, dark circles permanently sit beneath Alex's eyes. A look that screams, "I'd much rather be in bed than here, thank you." Their generally flat tone does little to help matters, leading to many an accusation that they're rude or angry despite feeling nothing of the sort.

Perhaps from a lifetime of being in the background, Alex has taken to preferring a supporting role over one in the lead. They'll help their friends however they can, dropping whatever they might be doing in the moment to do so. But, more often than not, they'll refuse anyone trying to offer similar help. "I'm fine," they'll say, "you don't have to worry about me. I'll figure it out."

Underneath their tired and disinterested air simmers a rebellious spirit. A side that mainly spills into their art, taking the form of a bright, in your face style reminiscent of graffiti. They've tagged more than a few buildings in their city. They feel alive through their art. Donning a mask and slipping out into the night to leave new works throughout the city. The risk, the defiance, and the chance that the messages within inspire others to keep going bring more satisfaction than some formal commission. Rebelliousness and stubbornness go hand in hand, making it difficult to sway them from a chosen path once their mind's been set.

History: The youngest of two siblings, Alex was always being compared to their older brother Lucas. Unlike his sibling, he seemed to excel in everything he tried. Academics, sports, hobbies, you name it. Alex was jealous, always hating how he could breeze through homework and pass with flying colors while they struggled and clawed their way through. As they grew older, the gap between them only widened further. Jealousy darkened into bitterness and resentment. Alex found themself being pushed harder and harder to keep up with their older brother. Their parents would always say how much they wanted to see both of their children succeed, how Alex should strive to also be at the top of their class and enter college with a full scholarship.

It was in high school that Alex met Ravyn and Aaron, a punk duo that seemed to go against everything in Alex's uptight upbringing. Despite that, the three hit it off almost immediately. Lunch, studying, hanging out after school; the three were inseparable. It was thanks to their encouragement that Alex discovered more about their own identity and also started putting more effort into their art. Their parents had often derided any doodles, saying how a career couldn't be made out of it, that they needed to shape up and focus on their studies for college instead.

It was after graduating that things finally came to a head. Alex cut ties with their parents and struck out on their own. It wasn't easy, trying to keep their head above water, but it was the happiest they'd been in years. But they had friends at their back and were determined to make it work. Alex was determined to make something out of their art work, if only out of spite to prove their parents wrong. Finally, they had a break. An invite to a local gallery to show off some of their work. Alex was ecstatic.

This joy didn't last long, as they were struck by a drunk driver on their way home from their retail job late one night. The accident cost Alex their left leg below the knee. To throw salt on the wound, the driver responsible had close friends among local police and city officials. The entire affair was soon swept under the rug, and Alex quietly paid for their treatment. That wasn't enough for them. Denied any form of real justice, anger burned in Alex's chest.

Nanzea was born out of this frustration, an infamous graffiti artist plaguing the city with pieces calling out the local politicians for their corruption. Alex had found a new calling, a way to direct their frustrations at the injustices of their hometown. With the help of a fox mask and burner phone, their Instagram account showing off their art and processes took off. Even under a persona, they now had an audience to spread their messages to and finally start encouraging change to the world.

It seems fate had other ideas, however.

Suzume Kirisawa

# Agumon

♡coded by uxie♡

"And just like that... I've lost the plot." - Suzume

Name: Suzume Kirisawa
Nicknames: Suzu, Mei
Age: 19
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality:
Blunt and closed off, Suzume seems to be eternally annoyed. Anger is never far from her, as she tends to start yelling or berating someone almost at the drop of a hat. Really, Suzu is just very irritable and doesn’t have much patience for other people, even if they seem to have a lick of common sense. She’s not immune from her own attitude, as she is most critical of herself and how she comes across—which means her temperament is not exactly something she’s proud of. If she manages to catch herself getting angry, she tries to calm herself down, with mixed results. Often, she needs time to decompress and listen to her music so she can string her thoughts together in a way that won’t come across as mean.

At the very least, Suzu is honest and nearly incapable of telling a lie. She has a capability for kindness, but her own crummy self-worth seems to be getting in the way. She talks a big game, but she doesn’t truly have the confidence to match up to it. Yet there’s undoubtedly some sort of fire within her that’s determined to keep going, even if she’s not sure she has much to fight for in the long run.

History:
Suzume grew up neglected in her own home. Her father had left early on, starting a new family with a much younger woman, and her mother took her frustrations out on the world around her. Most of Suzu’s time was spent avoiding her mother’s anger or in her room, trying desperately to escape the life she was forced to live in her family’s home. She was incredibly embarrassed about her mother’s behavior, and so she found it difficult to make friends, lest they ever meet or see her mother and judge her. So while she tried to make connections outside her home, it became more difficult the older she was.

As she started high school, her mother began turning to “easier” methods of drowning out her anger: alcoholism. Suzu had to dodge bottles as well as screams whenever she came home, though her mother never reached a point that was more violent than that. Yet she counted the days until it happened, hoping it wouldn’t hurt. The day never came, because her mother’s heart gave out before her life could get any worse.

Forced to move into an apartment all by herself, supported by distant relatives and a part-time job, Suzume tried to make ends meet and finish high school. College was out of the question, or at least she thought so, and so she kept working to support herself. Her attitude had worsened through high school, and she was the very picture of a failure, at least in her eyes. If only things had been different, she thought. If only there was some sort of purpose to my life. But as far as she was concerned, she was just another cog in the machine.

Partner: Agumon

Personality: Agumon is always hungry. Even when he's eaten, he's hungry. Hungry, hungry, hungry. Most of his one-liners involve food. He's an incredibly silly Digimon who sometimes doesn't seem to understand the gravity of certain situations. However, he is a fighter, and he refuses to lose, even when he's lost all his energy. Nothing matters more to him than protecting his partner and being there for them, because he values the connection with the one he was destined to be with. Although not the smartest, he sometimes comes up with a decent plan of attack, although he usually relies on his attacks and his brute force. Yes, he still thinks with his stomach, but there is no doubt that Agumon is one of the most noble and loyal Digimon out there.

Evolution Line: Koromon → Agumon → Greymon → MetalGreymon → WarGreymon

Crest: Love
Spirit Aspect: Wind
Human Spirit: Kazemon
Beast Spirit: Zephyrmon

Personality:
In both human and beast spirit form, the Wind Spirit is a lot more optimistic than Suzume herself. She glows with a confidence her human partner could only dream of having, which must come from so many years protecting the Digital World. The Wind Spirit has a sharp eye for what needs to be done to solve a problem, and unlike Suzume, she doesn't seem to have any hesitation or qualms about doing so. Suzume is not fond of being ordered around, and so the two struggle to reconcile their experiences with each other. However, the Wind Spirit does admire Suzume's strength of spirit and tenacity, understanding vividly how she chose Suzume to lend her power to.

  • Age: 21
    Crest: Reliability
    Partner: Gabumon

    Personality:

A happy go lucky type of individual. He says some weird stuff and he'll leave it up to you whether he is a philosopher in modern times. He has an airy calm demeanor and will laugh at the lamest joke. A total ride or die, bro. His hardships have fostered his mannerisms despite how young he is. A genuinely nice gentleman.

His main passion is music. He has a secret talent for it. Maybe that's because of the odd poetics of the things he says. He would prefer to go with the flow rather than searching for a fight. That isn't to say that he wouldn't be one to come back with full force. While passive by nature, his aggressiveness is something that isn't unheard of. If you put someone he were to call friend in danger. You're asking for a pain that will follow you until you apologize for any grievance given.

The sense of justice he keeps close to him is a powerful one. Not a shounen protagonist. Maybe not even the hero the people will be looking for. Yet, a rock to find shelter in coming troubles. Even further a powerful force to be reckoned with come what may. A figure for romantics.

    History:

A spiritualist, a musician, a poet, many things could be said of him. The one thing that couldn't be spoken into existence? His ability to be a person who was for the here and now. He always had his head in the clouds. Trying to disassociate with reality in a manner that had many thinking he should take up "astronaut" as his profession. That never mattered to him.

He wanted to find something greater than himself. More than some financial stability, more than some worldly possession, problem was he had no idea what it was. He could never even fathom what it could have been if it existed at all. Make no mistake about it... This wasn't religious. God wasn't on the menu for his indulgence. Rather he'd say now, "It was more about finding myself."

If he couldn't fit in in the normal society. He'd be one to look for another outlet. Eventually after school taking up a paid gig at a local club as their house performer. A solo act waiting for his big break, as his kind often do. If it never came? Water off a duck's back... He was simple, he was happy, people listening to his venting through music is enough for him.

To see another sunset illuminated town before dusk rolled in bringing with it the local tippers. It was all it took to make ripples in his general atmosphere. This was something worth his endeavors. Even if it didn't seem like it was outside of that bubble. He would soldier onward to face what he feared in this world or the next. Those were his thoughts at the time.

He never knew how the "other world" in this sense would be quite so literal.

"Hold on, you should take a jacket in case it gets cold. And a bottle of water, and sunscreen and- where are you going?"
Karen

  • Age: 19
    Crest: Kindness
    Partner: Terriermon

Personality: A quintessential older sister, Karen is used to imposing order on a chaotic household of younger siblings, wielding chore rotas, sticker charts and screen time quotas with ruthless efficiency. Detail oriented and with a flair for planning, Karen derives a great deal of satisfaction in making sure things run smoothly and efficiently and all of her charges are happy and healthy. Karen doesn't necessarily expect or demand to be in charge, but she can't stand it when no one is, if people are arguing or milling about she'll try to assert some kind of organization on the situation, sometimes quite forcefully. One of the downsides of usually interacting with much younger children is that Karen is a bit unused to dealing with people her own age, she end up mothering or talking down to people and can come off as overbearing or bossy.

Karen also has a tendency to focus on the negatives in any given situations. To Karen, problems and hurdles need to be recognized, addressed and planned for before they become an issue where as if something is going to to work out than it isn't worth talking about. When this apparent pessimism is combined with Karen's tendency to talk down to people and it can seem like she thinks very little of people and their capabilities when in fact she simply wants to set them up for success. Karen's actual concern for people tends to come out in lowkey ways, she's more likely to quietly cook your favorite meal when she can tell you've had a tough time then actually have a conversation with you.

History: Karen's parents were, at one point, corporate lawyers for a prominent firm in the city of Sydney. For the first decade or so of Karen's life her parents ran the high stakes, fast paced rat race of big city life, amassing influence, wealth and a great deal of stress. Eventually, quite abrubtly, the Harpers realised they hated pretty much all of that and moved out to the country, taking Karen with them. At first Karen resented being dragged away from her friends, her school and the life she grown accustomed to. That all changed though when Karen was first introduced to her baby brother. Karen was fascinated by this tiny, squishy human being, by how fragile but somehow full of life he was and she quickly became obsessed with helping take care of him.

It was perhaps fortunate that Karen ended up feeling this way, because her parents ended up having more children, seven more to be exact. As more and more members joined the Harper household, Karen took on a larger and larger role in the household, caring for and organizing her younger children so that her parents had breathing room to establish a small, but thriving country law practice. Karen didn't mind the extra responsibility, she thrived in tweaking routines and chore rosters so that everything got done on time and everyone pitched in and her parents always made sure to take time off from work to ensure her own studies were never neglected.

As time went on Karen's interest in organising expanded outside of her home, she got involved in student politics, running for president and organizing protests over issues like unfair disciplinary practices and equal funding for non athletic extra curriculars. Over time Karen's activities became more explicitly activist, as she began to to see and want to address the root causes behind the injustices she was working against. These activities only intensified when Karen moved out to attend university (studying political science) and she soon became embroiled in efforts to unionise the franchise cafe where she had picked up a part time job to support herself.

“I know I’m beautiful however focus on the task at hand”
Argo

  • Age: 18

    Crest: Sincerity

    Partner: Monodramon aka Bronx

Personality: Argo is very fixated on beauty and spares no effort when it comes to achieving and maintaining it. He acts and behaves in a regal-like mannerism. While this may come off as him being egotistical it is him wanting to exemplify beauty in all its forms from art, to writing, to people that he seeks out, which includes acting what he thinks is beautiful. When meeting a person who does not care for their appearance though, he becomes appalled and will even try to fix how they look. He dislikes the idea of wishing for something without doing any work, as he believes that only through hard work can lead one to their goals.

Argo is brutal with his comments however he is always honest with how he speaks never altering the language to make someone feel better (though this isn’t always the case when dealing with people in power). He is certain to always include a kind word in there as well if he can sense the hard work a person’s put into a project. He seems to radiate beauty and people are drawn to him, often copying trends he started sometimes happen without him knowing. Though beneath it all, Argo longs for company for a person to stand by him as an equal with a beautiful look and soul that he can call a friend.

History: At only 7 years old Argo had already been a model and an award-winning actor. People remarked on how talented he was and how he’d likely be one of the most famous celebrities of all time. The people were right, whatever movie he starred in, whatever clothing brand he wore, whatever song he sang it was a success and his fame grew. He developed new skills from the movies he was in, often insisting that if it wasn’t a dangerous stunt he could perform, and even then, he sometimes took over doing them. He has travelled all over, met with all kinds of people, and made an empire for himself all before turning 20. He eventually started going by his name now as his birthname was far too plain at least to him.

With fame though, the more you rise the more people wanna see you fall, to bring you down to their level. He often got accused of certain rumors and any small infraction gave rise to growing outrageous speculation the tabloids only continued to exacerbate. Even though he had a team to help with that, learning when to respond and when to go silent it kept happening. He was rarely allowed a moments rest even when travelling. He tries to keep in contact with the family he has left, the ones who actually care about him and not just what he can do for them though moving around hasn’t made it easy for him.

Now though, he has chosen to relax. To not work on a project and just enjoy the beauty he often claims to want in the world. In an interview that went fine enough, once cameras were done rolling, the interviewer made a comment that he didn’t seem to really get a chance to take in the beauty of the world. Argo thought about that and realized he was right, he hadn’t gotten a chance to experience the beauty of the world, or even relax. Now though, he plans on doing that, exploring the world and make it beautiful.

"I wish.... I wish that I could finally have a friend!"

  • Age: 18
    Gender: Female
    Crest: Friendship
    Partner: Veemon
Personality: Shy, quiet, and easily scared. She's self conscious about her own body, and gets upset when anyone makes fun of her for her appearance and her shortcomings. She doesn't like getting bullied.
She's quite scared of making friends because of some childhood trauma, and thus she prefers to stay away from others.

When she's alone, she cries because of her loneliness. She doesn't like fighting, and will attempt to run away at the first sign of confrontation.
Although she's scared to make friends, she does hope that one day she can in fact meet someone who likes her for who she is. Maybe she'll find someone someday who can change her life for the better.

Backstory: Ryuko was born into a middle class family, and had a vision impairment since she was a toddler. When she went to school, the other kids made fun of her for wearing glasses, and some even got a bit physical with her, pulling on her braids, hard. All this constant bullying had damaged her mentally, very afraid of even making an attempt to make a friend. This left her with an empty void in her heart. As an attempt to heal it, she started overindulging on snacks like chocolates and cookies. This made her slightly chubby, which increased how often people bullied her. Now it wasn't just for her vision, but for being fat too.

Her parents tried their best to cheer her up, taking her to a psychologist to talk to. They even took her to the zoo to see her favorite animal, the Wallaby. While this did help her feel less depressed and even lose weight as a result, she still didn't trust any of the other students in school. Because of this, she sat in the far back of the class, out of view so no one would mess with her. However, her heart still yearns for someone who would be her friend.
