Demon Gate of Sedona

"Well I'll see ya later lads and don't go waiting up for me" Johnny yells with a smile before they are dragged in the passage way. Seems as if Genevieve's plan worked really well even if being changed and dragged around wasn't the con man's idea of fun. Then the door to the passage way got shut as did the light source for poor old John. But before he was able to complain about said lack of light  Lady Tourmaline warned them about speaking. Then came the scuttling and the scratching and all around not particularly pleasant noises. Walking through a small cave in the pitch black with the whatever the hell was making those noises all around them, oh while also in chains. Still at the least the vampire and the kitsune should be able to see. Thinking 'Hopefully we don't have much longer to go before we get out of here cause I don't mind saying this isn't my bloody idea of fun' Johnny went along his way slowly through the cave. @Nyctophiliac @FrostFire @CactusJuice @Geozaki

Jack wasn't one to be intimidated. He walked into the fog without a second thought. It was too late to turn back anyways. He walked along behind them. As a monster hunter, he'd often had to traverse areas where monsters had the sensory advantage, so this wasn't very difficult for him. He had stuck with his course of action and remained silent the entire time, so when Gen ordered them to be quite, he wasn't surprised. I think I'll stick to thinking things I NEED to tell you. There are plenty of things I'd LIKE to tell you, but something tells me that won't increase my chances of survival. He squinted as he looked around trying to get a feel for the kind of terrain they were in. Then he heard a scuttling. He could only assume whatever it was is what Gen was afraid of. Instead of being scared, he was curious. What kind of beast could have a monster like Gen shaking in her boots? He wondered more to himself then anyone in particular. Well more like BEASTS he corrected himself. It sounded like a swarm of something.
@FrostFire @SirGrey @Geozaki @Nyctophiliac (sorry, my finals are next week, so I've been a bit busy).

I rolled my eyes at Johnny, We have a bit to go yet... and narrowed them at Jack. I am not 'shaking in my boots', thank you. And you do not want to pursue that curiosity... Some things are best left unknown, trust me. I continued walking slowly, and there was only a slight scuttle here and there to the footsteps of the humans behind me.

After half an hour or so, the tunnel began to get bigger and bigger, the soft scuttling becoming quieter and quieter. I stopped, and placed a hand gently on Lilly to ensure she wouldn't keep walking. Ahead of us, was a soft blue glow, the fog illuminated dimly by it, although the darkness still surrounded us. I stood patiently again, the time passing slowly as I stood in silence. The utter lack of any sensations would be very like a sensory deprivation tank for the humans. Apart from Johnny... Myself, Izuru and Johnny could hear... Things. Thanks to his witch genes, he unfortunately had to deal with what I heard, and for that I pitied him greatly. We heard a faint tink, as if miners were hitting iron a great distance away, and the scuttling began to ebb and flow, the noises coming closer, then retreating, but getting closer every time. My telepathic projection to the group was quiet, but still clear. Nobody move a muscle. This is a test, if you fail, you die. I turned into a statue, as an insect leg the size of my arm grazed my leg, and hissed a little as slime coated where it had touched me. I was calm, I did this often enough that it didn't really bother me anymore for myself, although I was worrying for the mortals.

@Geozaki @CactusJuice @Nyctophiliac @SirGrey

Ah. This part. Nobody move a muscle. This is a test, if you fail, you die. That summed it up well. The kitsune froze on the spot. He really had to have a lot of self control for these sorts of things. Hundreds of years of practice honing his voluntary (and the occasional involuntary) muscles didn't hurt. As a result, he didn't twitch as one of the crawlers, a smaller one than the one that was in contact with Genevieve, scuttled over his feet. He also was a little bothered for the humans. Jack probably wouldn't have too much of a problem because of his experience. Jonny, he was unsure of. He seemed proficient enough, but he had mouthed off to the kitsune guards even after the vampire had told them all to be polite. And Lily... as long as she had already done this before, it should count as no surprise. All this mental calculus he did in his head, as if his mind was a well-oiled machine.

'Oh brilliant my favorite bloody part of this' Johnny thinks. The test. Each gate seemed to have its own special little test. This one seemed to be the ancient lesson of don't move while a giant bug goes over to you to say high cause if you move you can kiss your arse good bye. The noise as the creatures moved made the hair on the back of Johnny's head stand on end. It sound like someone was scrapping rock on a chalk board. It seemed to burn itself into your skulls so that on cold nights, when you think back to the moment you heard it, well you won't be sleeping that night. The crawler that was heading for Johnny was like the one going over to the Kitsune in that it was smaller in contrast to Genevieve's. It went around his legs, leaving gifts of slim wherever it goes. It left grazed John's leg with Johnny only just keeping still. @FrostFire @Nyctophiliac @CactusJuice  @Geozaki

Jack smirked slightly. You know it’s completely silent, right? Perhaps it was just your teeth chattering then. He walked on mostly in silence.Then he was ordered not to move a muscle. He froze. If anything, trying not to laugh at Gen’s reaction was more difficult then ignoring the insect. Jack had received sniper training in his early years. Sure he wasn’t as good a shot as the more experienced ones, but, unlike what most people believed, shooting was only a very small part of being a sniper. Most of it was avoiding detection, and a very important part of that was holding still. His breathing became slow and steady. His thoughts emptied from his head, and he became one with his surroundings. In his meditative like state, he didn’t even seem to notice the insect that scuttled over his foot.

Lilly tagged along behind Gen as they walked through the near pitch black system. Lilly didn't speak, and she didn't have anything to say. But that didn't stop her mind from racing. She thought about the reason for them being here, as she did she clutched the bracket of her wrist subcociously, which was a slight challenge due to the cuffs, but not too difficult. Gen hadn't had the chance to explain, but she'd figured it out by now. As she thought about their mission her thoughts turned towards what, for her, was the most important part. Saving him. Suddenly Lilly snapped out of her thoughts as Gen commanded them to stay perfectly still. Lilly froze. She'd done this before so she knew what she was doing, but that didn't stop it from freaking her out. She closed her eyes as the creatures approached. There were more than she remembered from the last time. She tried to focus her thoughts on something to take her mind off what was happening. All she had to do was stay still, simple! Right?

I stood calmly as the creatures crawled around, and looked out onto the glow. A mass began to slowly appear out of the mist, and the form of a boat with a cloaked figure inside appeared. It inched towards us, as the massive figure, over 8 foot tall, silently pushed on a pole, the faint sound of water rippling around the boat. The blue glow followed the boat, and the creatures surrounding us scuttled away, a low hissing echoing around the massive space. The boat glided to a stop at the hidden bank, millimetres from where I was standing, and the shrouded figure paused, waiting for us to get on. Their face was completely obscured by a massive hood, their form also completely covered by the black cloth. I gracefully stepped into the boat, and stood patiently at the front of the boat, next to the figure.

Once the creatures were gone the witch let out a small sigh. He didn't much like having giant bugs crawl all over him. Looking over his feet he notice how they are covered in slime. 'Glad that is over' he thinks for a brief moment. That brief moment ended well ,briefly, because of the 8 foot tall bloke who had a clock like death and a blue glow. Still he seemed to be reason that the bugs decide to sling there hook. Thinking back to his past 'visits' to the gate, he recalls that the figure had been there. Maybe it was the same, maybe it was a different person. The figure didn't seem too talkative, so Johnny simply walked along to the boat. @Geozaki @FrostFire @CactusJuice @Nyctophiliac

( @FrostFire i feel like there isn't much to say here. They're all just following the vampire and its not like Izuru is going to have brilliant epiphanies every posting turn. Feel free to speed the thing along. Hope that's okay xp)

Once everyone was in the boat, the figure extended a hand through his robe. It was skeletal, the skin translucent and absolutely no muscle on its long bony fingers. I placed 10 gold coins into his hands, old Greek drachma. "They are in pristine condition, as always. I trust you have been well, Charon?", I addressed him in a friendly tone. We had known each other for a long time, and our history went back centuries. He bowed slightly, and straightened, pushing the boat off with the pole. Better than most, Tourmaline. I do well, with what I have been doing since the beginning.

That is good. Perhaps we can catch up over a tea, once all this is over?

I would like that, Lady.

As we spoke internally, the

boat moved through the soft glow of the river, with trash here and there, floating past. The Styx wasn't immune to the pollution of humans, and was now full of junk, trinkets, and worst of all, lost hopes, dreams and wishes. It upset me, the pollution of this mythical river. But there was little I could do.

We neared our destination, and I jumped off the boat, and bowed. I looked around at the cave we were still in, and walked up towards the door ahead of us, red light spilling from under it. "Everyone ready? Johnny, for the love of God, be polite. Otherwise, you know what will happen. Better yet. None of you speak at all. Understand?".

@SirGrey @Geozaki @CactusJuice @Nyctophiliac

The boat glided through polluted waters with nary a sound. Only the lightest ripples came from the boater's pole. This figure with its skeletal hand was Charon, as Genevieve helpfully supplied his name. Izuru nodded his head in acknowledgment of the old robed figure as the vampire paid him the pristine coin. The Black Fox gazed into the water through the slits in his mask. Random knick-knacks, and lost dreams floated about in the mythical body of water. He recognized some of them, but most of the debris meant nothing to him.

Finally their arrived and he stepped off the boat with everyone else. Another door, this one with red light emanating from a crack beneath. It didn't look very inviting to Izuru, but he made no comment. Then the lady spoke again: "Everyone ready? Johnny, for the love of God, be polite. Otherwise, you know what will happen. Better yet. None of you speak at all. Understand?"

Jack stepped on to the boat. He looked at the figure curiously. The man reminded him of a Greek Myth about the Underworld. He would take anyone across the River Styx for a cost. What was his name again? He wondered. Gen unintentionally answered him. So this Shadow place must be the place the Greeks referred to as the Underworld. It was strange though. He remembered no mention the previous trials. He'd think the Greeks would have mentioned something about them. If they didn't know about them, it would have been practically impossible to pass let alone come back. Perhaps they've changed things a bit to give Cerberus a break. He found the thought rather amusing. Jack wasn't sure if it was safe to talk, but he would have loved to question Charon a bit. However, he suspected they didn't have too much time anyways. When it seemed they reached their destination, he stepped of the boat. He waited for Lilly to get down safely before walking over to Gen. He'd heard of some...unpleasant possibilities that could occur to those who fell in the Styx. When Gen told them to be quite he smirked. "Is that some sort of trick question? You tell us to be quite then ask if we understand. It seems a bit counter productive." He pointed out.

Wandering onto the boat, Johnny tried to keep from the death like figure. Never was good idea to look death in the face, rather run from it as fast as you can, well that was Johnny's idea anyway. He had faced death plenty of times even coming close to it a couple of times. Looking over the lake water, John felt his stomach turn. He was no activist for anything of the like, but it did make his blood boil to see even the supernatural world fall to human folly.  Waters still carried they more over worldly elements, the broken dreams and lost souls.  Once they reached there destination, Johnny almost immediately hopped of the boat. No reason to stand on that boat longer than you have to. Listen to Gen instructions Johnny says "I'm always polite... in my own special way" in a sarcastic tone with his bedeviling smile. @Nyctophiliac @CactusJuice @Geozaki @FrostFire

I frowned, not impressed by their attitude. "If you act like that in here, then you will get seriously hurt. Influencing those 3 simpletons back there was easy enough, but to influence those in here will not be possible.", I looked down at both men, "If you wish to do this the hard way, then fine. But do not say I did not warn you.". I turned to Lilly, and patted her on the head with a smile. She was always a good girl, and she knew exactly how this was done. Not waiting for an answer from either man, I pushed on the door, and walked into a warehouse, not unlike that which we had entered through. The red glow came through the windows, from the massive red sun outside, and the area was bustling with kitsune, vampires and creatures alike. As I walked through, dragging the others behind me, whether they liked it or not, a tree spirit stepped back to let us through, and we both bowed at each other, before she walked towards the still open door, closed it, and opened it again. It opened to a vast forest expanse, with white sunlight pouring through the branches, and she walked through, closing the door behind her. I turned back, to face the 2 kitsune guards now in front of me. "We require a test. Now... Prove these slaves have allegiance to you, Lady Tourmaline.", they glared at me. I turned around, and nodded at Izuru-san, who was also being glared at by the guards, facing those who were now tied up, I spoke with power in my voice, and a hint of warning. "Kneel.".

Jack looked around curiously finding his surrounding more interesting then Gen's warnings. I don't remember this being part of the underworld myths. He carefully examined each room they entered. Then suddenly they made it to an area with even more kitsune, and they were being told to prove their loyalty. He sighed. They really just want to test our subservience. If we were slaves by choice, we wouldn't really be slaves. His body tenses up a bit. This went against pretty much everything he stood for. However, Jack knew you often have to do unfavorable things to get the job done. He lowered his head to make sure he wasn't making eye contact as a sign of submission. "As you command, my mistress." He knelt in an admittedly stiff manner.

Looking around the con man mind rushed with the last few times he was here. This place really hasn't changed, at least I'm not bleeding heavily or suffering form something that puts even the worst hangover to shame. The number of creatures did put any rebellious plans to shame. Hopefully no one would recognize him. Still even if they did he was a slave, wasn't that punishment enough Still looks like they were chance. Looks like they had to prove they were slaves. Still a good show might be in order. Standing up Johnny says with anger in his voice "You think I'm done yet ya little ya little" before lowering to his knees with every bit of energy in his voice leaving as he says "As you command, my mistress". And the Emmy goes to.

Lilly stepped silently onto the boat. She stared out across the gloomy water as they steadily made their way to their destination. After a short while the boat came to a gentle stop and Gen jumped off, closely followed by Jack, who waited to ensure Lilly made it off safely. Lilly liked Jack, she had since she'd gotten over the initial shock of meeting him, though the longer she got to know him, the more uncertain she became. He hated Gen due to her being a vampire, despite the fact that she exposed herself to him in order to save his life, and since then he can't trust her and refuses that she does anything from the good of her heart, just because her heart isn't beating anymore, doesn't mean she doesn't have one. He was still lovely to Lilly, but he even seemed uncertain of her at times. Lilly wished that he could just accept Gen for what she was, despite what experiences he might have had in the past. His hatred of Gen also made her very self aware of her secret, and she was trying extra hard to keep it as that, a secret. She didn't want to give him a reason to hate her too. She felt that if he had a reason, no matter how small, to hate her, that he may decide that it would just be better to exterminate both her and Gen, or at least try, very few people, supernatural or not, could stand up to Gen and last any more than 5 seconds.

They walked through the door before them, and were escorted by a tree spirit into a lushous green forest. Just being here made Lilly long to be free of the shackles that her mother had put her in and run through the twisting trees and just lose herself in the comforting company of the forest. But she knew that if she even tried, she'd probably be dead within moments, and she'd also jeopardise the whole mission. After a quick glance through the sunlit leaves, Lilly ducked her head, not giving anyone eye contact, or even looking at anyone at all, she knew what would be coming next and was ready and waiting. "Kneel!" Gen commanded with an overwhealming sense of authority, if you didn't know that this was all set up, you'd get the feeling that if stepped out of line by even the slightest of margins that you'd experience a whole world of pain and concequences. Lilly dropped to her knees without hesitation, flinching slightly as she did. She came across as though Gen terrified her, she kept her head bowed, causing her long red hair to fall forwards, covering her face.

((Sorry I've been gone for so long, I really am! And as far as I've heard and am aware, I single handedly murdered this too, so I'm hoping that I can make up for it a little bit by attempting to breathe some life back into it! I'm really really sorry guys! ))

Izuru, not posturing as a slave, merely closed the distance to the she-vampire's side until he was a few paces from her, then calmly and casually tucked his arms into his long, silver-hemmed sleeves. He observed that they all obeyed and produced the act quite well despite any reservations the Black Fox may or may not have had. It should be enough to convince the pair of guards, anyways.

He turned his head to gaze into the green groves of trees. They were quite serene and beautiful. He admired their near-poetic aesthetic for a moment, mind blank as his mask.

I smirked, satisfied with the performance. One of the guards sighed, exasperated. "Very well. But do not cause us trouble.", they bowed stiffly towards me, and I gestured for the others to stand, and waited for them to do so before setting off.

We walked outside to the packed streets, everything stained red by the glowing sun that never set. Homeless kitsune sold memories at the side of the road, slaved hurried about their business, some in rags, others in extravagant outfits to show their masters status, most were women. A small group of rather annoyed looking vampires walked close, giving me sidelong glances, and hurrying off when I met their gaze.

We waited for about 5 minutes, and I kept a sharp eye out for any trouble, but thankfully, none came our way. The palanquin finally arrived, big enough for all of us, and carried by 20 strong men and a lowly vampire or two. "This is how the elite travel here.", I explained as I jumped in, graceful as always, and waited for the others before we set off. "We should be at my home soon, it is on the border of the vampire and kitsune districts.", I left out the fact that it was perhaps the grandest mansion there, and in the wealthiest area of the city. After everyone was in, we set off towards the wealthy area, with each passing minute the slums turned into shacks, into larger and larger houses, becoming more wealthy as e went along, the shops also reflecting this, selling nicer and nicer things.

It looks sort of like this, but perhaps a bit smaller, more Japanese or oriental, and with curtains around all sides. (which Gen has pulled across)
