So the story involves angels, mermaids, vampires and witches.
In this world unbeknownst to humans there is a battle brewing. There has been a prophecy:
There comes a day when the sea swallows the earth, the foreign one shall cause an aeon of brutality. It is they who cry for justice. Beware of the blood stained souls for they will cause ruin.
The angels are the supreme rulers of the supernatural world. Some are cruel, others just, many don't care and strive for their own interests. There is a vast amount of corruption in the empire and their fear of being thrown from power like they were from heaven can make them brutish and cruel towards other races. They tend not to consort with humans and can bully pretty much anyone for what they want.
Vampires used to be strong but they have barely any power because of current affairs. The switch to synthetic blood has made them weak. Some of the creatures however are turning to the black market. Animal, human and even vampire blood can all be found there along with the your regular drugs. There's whispers however of a drug that could potentially kill angels which could change system of power. And a chemist may be the key to the breakthrough.
Mermaids have always had beautiful voices that enchanted sailors. It's said even the mermaid queens can cry pearls, and the merkman kings can summon thunderstorms. The sea is waning and many of them have started living in land. The increasing pollution along with their innate vanity and volatile nature has made them increasingly restless. Children have been told tales that a mermaids power is directly tied to the ocean. What must it feel like to find yourself growing weaker and weaker?
And then there are witches. They are humans with a drop of fae blood. They have been supernatural senses. Some are seers, others are potionmakers and others can conjure up the slightest elements. Most are have the slightest inclining toward a sixth sense.
