Define Your New Life​

Welcome to the world of DEFINE/DEATH. To start, your character sheet is defined by three high-level guidelines as such:

1. All characters will begin this role play as ordinary humans. The supernatural & power aspects are something to be discovered over the course of the role play.

2. Characters that reflect mary/gary sues or lack depth as a human being will not be accepted under any circumstance. Make your characters unique, make your reader feel genuinely interested to learn more about their life. Doing so enables the GM’s to provide you far more enriching content.

3. Integrate your character. If you haven’t already, use the links below to take a journey over to our Lore section where you can read about the two starting points. Your character must be a resident of either Blue Springs or Brookfield, and their life should be integrated with the city of your choosing. For example, if your character lives in the Academic District of Blue Springs, what are they studying, why did they choose this school, what is their day to day life in the district? Do they have regular interactions with alternate districts in the city? If your character is focused around the Downtown district, what is their job there? What is their goal in life?

The world of this role play is meant to be living, breathing. Each character should have a purpose from the get go. From that, a GM will be able to provide you with a focused plot-line to further integrate you into the mysteries of the world. At the end of the day, remember to make your character fun and interesting!

In terms of actual content, there is no definitive template for your character--simply include the required information, found below, based on your city of residence, then have fun with it! Creativity is welcomed, whether that is through BBcode, a story in place of back story and personality, or whatever else your wonderful minds can conceive. All in all, however, character integration and depth are the core components that will ultimately determine your acceptance.

Personality // vivian is a very excitable individual. she's obsessed with video games and comic books. because of this, she tends to act childish and it becomes hard to take her seriously. her behavior makes her seem younger than she really is, which when brought up, she is very defensive about. even though she's a talkative and bright individual, she is actually extremely awkward. she tends to use her immature antics to cover up her awkwardness. in truth, vivian is extremely self-conscious and when she gets defensive she lashes out. she isn't afraid of getting physical even if she has no formal training in combat. she folds origami regularly to keep her anxiousness at bay.
History // vivian is originally from japan, which gives her a distinct accent when she speaks. her father was an infamous yakuza who had huge influences over japan. vivian was the runt of the family full of sons. her father wasn't particularly pleased when he found out vivian was a daughter, he much prefer a son who could carry the last name and have influence over his territory. no one was going to take a girl like her seriously; not while she looked like a bean pole. her father was the one who instilled the lack on self-confidence into vivian at a young age and taunted her for never being good enough. the only thing he deemed her capable for was working the technology in the clan. thus helped create a decent skill in hacking. she isn't the most skilled in her kind, but she could get jobs done. it was one of the way she could ever please her father through, by digging up some dirt on rival clans. her love for art, especially origami, was an escape for her while she lived under her oppressive father. as soon as she turned eighteen vivan left her home without a word and traveled as far away as she could. she's now found herself in Blue Springs, looking create a new life. She's lived two years now in the US, working as a freelance tech support. She hopes to save enough money and possible apply to go to school in the Fracture Academics district.
family // Katashi Satoshi (51) - He was extremely strict to all his children as they grew up. He was especially harsh on Vivian since the day she was born, he almost left her out on the doorstep if her mother, Hime, didn't intervene. He's cold and ruthless towards others, even to his own clan and family members. He rules over his territory with an iron grip and many other clans fear him. Katashi is also very twisted, having very sadistic punishments and treatment of his foes. No one tries to pick a fight with the Satoshi clan unless they have a death wish. He wasn't particularly surprised when he found out vivian disappeared, he didn't think she was much help to the family anyways.
Hime Ito (42) - She is very stoic, mostly because she's married into a yakuza clan. Though when she's with her children, she takes off her hardened mask and acts the complete opposite. She's especially close to vivian given she's her only daughter. She isn't pleased with the way Katashi treats the children, but she knows he's only trying do what's best for them. Her reputation in the crime circle is almost as renowned as her husband's, being an equally strong leader.
Masaru Satoshi (31) - He's the closest to their father out of all the siblings. He's exceptionally skilled at managing the clan's business, territory, and politics. Masaru is nearly as famous as his father because of his management of the clan. He's highly respected amongst his peers. He also has a passion for traditional japanese culture, enjoying to read ancient literature and wear kimonos. He isn't particularly close to Vivian, simply acknowledging her as his younger sister. He didn't really care that vivian left because he felt like she was a burden to the family anyway. he was far too focused on the success of clan rather than the whereabouts of his younger sister.
Katsuo Satoshi (27) - He's the brawn of the clan, in charge of most of the execution of the clan's criminal excursions. He's mastered karate, jujutsu, and taekwondo. No matter how lethal Katsuo is, he acts like a complete goof and always knows how to lighten the mood. He's overly protective of vivian, always keeping a close eye on her and making sure she's out of trouble. their relationship can be categorized as that of puppy and owner, Katsuo adores his sister when vivian finds it somewhat annoying. He was especially distraught when vivian left the family. But the apple never falls far from the tree, like his father, Katsuo has dark sadistic tendencies. His behavior is almost like a light switch, one second he's acting excitible, the next he's cruel and detached.
Taiki Satoshi (22) - Taiki is the con of the family. from a young age he learned how to deceive and manipulate others. he find enjoyment out of messing with people's feelings. he likes to mess around, leading him to be known as a serial cheat, but the name doesn't faze him by the slightest. if anything it draws all sorts of people to him thinking they can be the one who finally wins his heart. but just because he's labeled as a pretty boy, it doesn't mean he's only a pretty face. In contrast to his brother Katsuo, Taiki knows his way around guns. He's skilled enough accurately shoot someone from 3,000 m away with a sniper. when vivian left, he was rather upset because they were quite close growing up despite their different interests.

History:​

Trevor grew up in in the ranger's cabin to a lower class family, of 5 all of which still reside there to this day, though himself and his sister both live in their own apartments. Life in the Rangers cabin isn't easy, but if you keep your head down and your nose clean, you can let the trouble pass you by. That had always been Trevor's philosophy growing up, as while he had a strong sense of right and wrong, he knew that what was going on wasn't right. But when your a kid in gang territory, you learn one way or another that you don't really have enough power to effect change. So Trevor grew up with a relatively uneventful life, trying not to get caught up in the gang life. Once or twice, he was impressed into acting as a lookout, but the life wasn't for him, and his older sister's growing influence meant that she had some pull to keep them out of it. His school years were actually quite impressive for his age. He did well, studied hard, and got good grades. Unfortunately, financial troubles marred his family during those years after they had to pay for his father's medical bills, and while he was able to get his high school diploma, he quickly fell into his job as a firefighter in the industrial district. He's worked at the same firehouse (Firehouse 131) for just over 2 years now. He's nothing more than a grunt, but that's okay. He keeps telling himself the big day will be coming soon, he'll get the next promotion for sure.

Personality:​

Trevor grew up in a place where poking your nose in the wrong spot meant a beating or worse could be headed your way. This has lead to him having a very careful outlook on getting into others business. The issue is that this outlook contrasts with an innate sense of wanting to help others- he became a firefighter because he wanted to save people, to rescue others and to make sure that they were safe. He's often put into places as conflict because of this, and he finds that his desire to help overcomes his aversion to others business. He can be found grumbling and chastising himself as he charges across a freeway to get to a car crash, or mentally screaming as he tends to a gang member who turns up to his apartment with a bullet wound in his shoulder. When not worrying about others lives, Trevor is confident, friendly, and amiable. In his mind, he has very little to hide, and isn't much of a fan of lying. That said, he can be a bit on edge when people bring up the gang war. He's not a fan that his family has to live in the Ranger's Cabin, and he wishes they could be better off. Trevor wants to get up the ranks of the firehouse to establish that when he has a family of his own one day, they never have to go through the things that he did. While he tries to mind his own business, he can get angry quickly when someone insults the people he knows. For better or for worse, family sticks together.

Schedule:​

Trevor works full time with firehouse 131, commuting to the firehouse from his apartment in the Rangers Cabin and traveling via truck to get to the industrial district where the firehouse resides. He often carpools with Jackie, who doesn't have a car herself, She lives in the square. He works 4 days a week, Tuesday-Friday, and has 10 hour shifts each starting in the early morning. He's usually just a grunt with the firehouse, but he's recently been driving the water truck a bit more often then not. He's usually pretty beat to do anything but go home and play some video games, visit family, or hangout with his coworkers every now and again. On the weekends however, he commonly goes downtime with his closer coworkers or Cameron, visiting bars and malls, always curious to see what new things arise. More often then not, Cameron plans these expeditions and surprises Trevor with a new idea or...twelve. Recently, he's started going to a drop in basketball place on fridays.

Family:​

Anya (Mother, 47): Anya is a strong willed woman, and can best be referred to as a "mama bear". A legend circulates throughout the rangers that when Gloria was younger she scolded the leader to their face and got away with it, but she's not one to confirm or deny such things. What can be said about her is that she is a professor with the university level of Fracture Academies, instructor in the field of Robotics.

Peter (Father, 51): A stern but loving man, Peter is a lifelong tradesman in the industrial district. He worked as a welder for over 30 years, but a recent injury has cuased his eyesight to fade and he faces blindness within the next couple years. Seeing himself as the stoic one in the family, Peter does what he can to keep things together so nobody else worries, but deep down he's unsure of what will happen when it goes.

Gloria (Older Sister, 23) Given their locale, it wasn't long before someone in the family started getting involved in the Rangers affairs. Trevor's elder sister Gloria is a committed members to the gang, though she's managed to keep her hands relative clean. Acting as a guard in the cabin, she keeps tabs on the people within and makes sure that none of the other three gangs are creeping into the area. Because of her affiliation, her family is left more or less alone by the Ranger's. Hotheaded but well meaning, Gloria is loyal to the Rangers because she believes it's the best way to keep her family safe and well financed.

Isaac (Younger Brother, 15): The baby brother and student of the family, Isaac has the brains when it comes to the three siblings. A gifted student, Isaac attends high school with Fracture Academy. A soft spoken and mild mannered kid, he's the type of kid who doesn't like to cause problems. His path of focus with the academy is Engineering, and he wants to design new, safer systems for those who work in the industrial end of town like his brother and father.

Friends:​

Jacqueline "Jackie" Roberts (22): Trevor's closest coworker, who started at about the same time he did. The two have a friendly rivalry, and often hang out together outside of work with either Mike, Cameron, or some other coworkers. Despite being one of the smallest firefighters, she has a resilient spirit, and she's notorious for being impossible to beat in a drinking contest. The two are often paired together on jobs, and they've spent two years getting to know each other and figuring out a good dynamic. There aren't many more people Trevor trusts with his life.

Mike Tremmels (32): One of Trevor's Coworkers at 131, Mike is a more experience firefighter, and a little bit higher up the chain of command than either Trevor or Jackie. He's been putting out fires since he left highschool, so he's almost been at it for a decade. He recently married one of the girls who works dispatch, and while Trevor doesn't know her much, Penny seems like a nice enough woman. When not bantering with the squad or lecturing them on how to do things better, he's going on and on about his new adopted kid. A little girl named Cassandra. A bit wiser than his younger comrades, it's not uncommon to see him giving them some guidance.

Cameron Wyatts (20): A childhood friend of Trevor's, and the only person from high school he still hangs out with. Cameron currently works as a Private investigator, using a nose for mischief to his advantage tracking people down. The two of them chat often, and it's not an uncommon sight to see the two at a bar swapping stories about the strange situations Trevor's been called into versus the outlandish jobs that Cameron's been fired for. Inquisitive and intelligent, Cameron's biggest weakness is his curiosity. He can't help himself, and leaves no stone unturned. Contrasting Trevor's "Keep your head down" approach, the firefighter's had to bail his friend out of trouble more than a few times.

History: Zenith Ryder was born to a wealthy family, in America. His father is the CEO of a somewhat major corporation. Zenith was enrolled by his parents in private schools, and got into a prestigious Ivy League school (Harvard). He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2017. From a young age, his father has been preparing him to take over the business eventually as he is the heir. Zenith is extremely intelligent, as well as athletic as his parents encouraged him to take up a sport when he was younger. His parents selected aikido for him to learn and Zenith is now a black belt. Although Zenith also participated in other sports, he wasn’t very interested in them, except for martial arts. Zenith is skilled with weapons as well though, as his parents mandated some training for his sister and him just in case. This training has also been mandated for the children in the family for many generations now, and both Zenith’s parents are also trained in martial arts and in shape.

Personality: Zenith does not care about other people’s feelings, excluding his family. However, he is perfectly charming and will not let any of his dislike show outwardly. His parents have both considered him a strange child at times, but they love him nonetheless. Zenith is extremely ruthless and intelligent. He is determined to make his father’s corporation even bigger, into one of the top fifty (eventually top ten) businesses of the world and shows a sound business mind. Zenith is perfectly fine twisting the truth to fit his goals. He is blunt at times, due to his uncaring nature towards others’ feelings. Relationships: Zenith has many friends, but the majority are just contacts to him. He knows many aspiring or new entrepreneurs. At the same time, Zenith does have a small circle of close friends. Some are from his college days, his roommate for example, and he is very familiar with some entrepreneurs around his age. He doesn’t live particularly close to any of them though, as some of his entrepreneur friends reside in other countries while his college friends don’t live in the same state. Fast Talker- His main weapon throughout his life was his words that have kept him alive all this time. He’s found words to also serve as a great distraction when you’re needing to stall to buy some time, or keep their attention onto you while someone takes them out from behind.

Adept Shot- Throughout the years he’s gotten good with a firearm, he’s not an expert marksman, but he’s able to shoot at what he’s aiming at most of the time.

Personality/About Him:
Selfish- His core goal in life is simply to rise to the social elite. He values his life, and his goal more than anything and he’s less willing to take a risk that doesn’t involve him gaining anything in return. He’s abandoned people, betrayed people, and befriended people with the sole intention of acting in his own self interest. He’s devoted to solely two things in his life. What he wants, and his life.

Determined- There’s very little that he’ll give up once he’s set his mind to it. That doesn’t mean that he’ll run straight into his death, but he won’t run away from any challenge simply because there’s a chance that he’ll die. His mind is set on his one goal and he’s determined to do whatever it takes to get it done willing to do practically anything to achieve his goals.

Pathological Liar- In his day to day life he’ll lie to anyone so long as there's no perceived consequence of it. So he’ll lie to any random random person about basically anything, but when it comes to work he’ll lie about relatively inconsequential things like how the sky was red when he found a flying puppy.

Slight Kleptomania- He’s found a sort of small joy in stealing various small things back when he was in the orphanage, and so it’s not strange what initially started out as a game to him evolved into him challenging himself to steal a variety of things around him.

Backstory:
He grew up in an “Orphanage” in Jakeland, but it made sense to instead call it what it really was. A small time crime syndicate that used children as shields, soldiers, or saboteurs for their own personal gain. To put it simply it wasn’t exactly the grandest of times, and they didn’t depart on the best of terms after he got a glimpse of what his life could be.

He had been one of the few rebellious ones having heard of a better life from one of the older kids that served as his main male role model in his formative years. To cow this rebellious nature they would put him in a cage where there would be a one of the orphanages “Hellhounds” chained just far enough that it wouldn’t be able to reach him, but only barely. Those experiences inches away from dogs that were practically as big as he was tall gnashing their powerful jaws at him would last for hours scarring him for life. That feeling of absolute helplessness as his life was simply tossed aside as a dog attempted to rend him to ribbons was one that he grew to hate with a fevor.

One day in his teenage years, he doesn’t know how old he was at this time he assumes fifteen, he’d gotten the opportunity to break away from the orphanage. He had been sent out on a simple retrieval run where he’d had one of the older kids that liked him a bit watching over him. They were to enter the territory of one of the four gangs in The Square and get a very valuable item, he hadn’t been told the specifics, then they were supposed to get out and head back to the orphanage item in hand.

Instead what had happened was that before they had left the orphanage Jon had picked up a relatively small rock, and a stick playing it of as just him messing with random crap to keep from being bored while they made their way to The Square. That night after having sharpened the stick’s tip throughout the day with the rock he had waited until his handler was asleep believing that Jon would be no threat since he had been behaving for the longest time now with his latest visit to the hellhounds seemingly curbing him of any sort of rebellion in his system. It would be their last mistake.

That morning Jon had all the supplies that his handler had on him including rations, enough money to last him a week, a knife, and a pistol with five bullets, and no extra ammo. He’d eventually make it to The Square where he’d make a name for himself as a sort of thief for hire, and the rest was history. He’d make a few contacts, and kill a couple of people, but he’d become specifically contracted for his thieving ability. Needed a rival’s pocket picked? Done. Rare jewel in the Academy? Already theirs.

Now he’d gotten into a rhythm and he was steadily on the climb to achieving his goals.

Charles “Charlie” Blackwood(20)- Jon had met Charlie when they ran into each other after a job had gone bad for the then fifteen year old Jon. Charlie lied to Jon’s pursuers in exchange for a favor from Jon. Ever since then they have had a rather steady unspoken alliance to assist one another. Charlie is proficient in the part of the crime world that Jon never fully grasped and that was the technological aspect of things. He’s provided Jon with any technological help that he’s needed in exchange for Jon doing him favor that the tech wiz wasn’t suited to dealing with himself.

Tracy (18)- Tracy is Jon’s main means of receiving contracts for the four gang families in the square. She gets a cut of his fee from the completion of the job as a finders fee of sorts for the various assignments. Jon has no qualms with Tracy’s typically extremely energetic exuberance whenever talking about potential contracts. He enjoyed her eccentricities, because if the world around him was gonna suck why not let some people be fun?

Enemy(ies):

“Madam Serenity”/Madam Serenity’s Home For Forgotten Youth- Both the home, and woman that used him for as long as he could remember for their own disposable gain. Jon used to be eager to make her happy, but that all changed when he caught a glimpse of what something better would truly look like. Suffice to say he left them on relatively bad terms.

Interests/Hobbies/Habits:
Writing/Journaling- He picked up the habit of jotting down what each day had been like from his father figure. Jon sees it as relaxing and at the end of the day help him to compartmentalize and manage the events of the day. He also writes one off story ideas based on dreams he’d have.

Finger Biting- To keep himself calm, or to simply ground him in reality he’ll injure himself in someway to keep himself centered. This can range from him biting his hand to stabbing himself in the thigh with a fork during a firefight. It typically does wonders for his concentration.

Fear(s):
Dogs- He has an almost crippling fear of Canines to the point where if he were to encounter one he wouldn't hesitate to utilizing lethal force with the only factor stopping him being that an action like that could blow his cover, or alert his enemies. Still he’ll keep an eye on the canine with Jon’s hyper focus on it leading to potentially lethal slip ups since he’ll be focused more on the canine at points rather than his work until said canine was dead.​

Personality:
It is a very complex issue when discussing Daniel's personality because it fluctuates so much. In this business, it is necessary to put up a front. Develop a persona and do things you are not entirely comfortable with. It changes you. Daniel is a passionate dreamer devout to working hard and achieving his goal of being a star. However, this determination that started out as a trait born from his willingness to work hard and perfect his craft became tainted with a by any means necessary approach; furthermore, his dreams became obsession. He was genuinely a kind person...he still is at times. Simple, easy-going and honest. Now he is manipulative, cunning, calculated. He can easily fool most people with his innocent persona if only it were just that. He is, or was, a genuinely trusting and innocent person by nature, so this comes off as more than just an act. Just as quickly, he can slip into that manipulative personality he developed over time in order to survive in the industry. He can be charismatic, his words saccharine; however, they are often hollow below the surface. He constantly tells himself it is just an act that he has to hold on to until he makes it big; however, the problem with wearing a mask for too long is that you forget which face was made out of porcelain to begin with.

Backstory:
Danny was born in a small town in South Korea. His family was not rich, but they weren't poor by any means. For most of his life he grew up as a normal kid dreaming of the world outside while making many friends. He was always the popular kid who made good grades, signed up for extra-curricular activities and people expected many things from him. Locally, he was their pride and joy, and unlike most people his age he received their full support in achieving his dream of becoming a singer.

With his heart full of hope and expectation he eventually moved to Blue Springs with the money his family and a few close friends saved up. This was the start of a new exciting journey. However, he would soon learn the cold reality of life as his dreams turned into a nightmare fairly quickly. The sharks of the city could smell the fresh innocence from a mile away and quickly took advantage of him. Scams, broken promises, theft, physical violence, you name it....Danny was quickly swallowed alive by the big city. The sounds of a busy street, nor the bright lights of the city could bring comfort and mend his breaking soul. He spent a long period of time homeless due to many of the aforementioned events. As one my expect, things only got worse in that situation, but despite it all he was not going to give upon his dream. Perhaps he was simply too embarrassed to go back home a failure. More and more, he became like the world around him. It was not an easy transition, but soon enough he was able to stab a person in the back without batting an eye. (Both figuratively and literally.) He was now the shark that smelled the hope of an ignorant dreamer. He portrayed whatever image was necessary in order boost his fame, and fortune while doing his best to hang onto...well himself. Now it is hard to distinguish between the two. Is he a ruthless person who can be nice in order to achieve what is necessary, or is a innocent, caring person forced to conform to the black hole of a city that sucks you dry for everything you're worth.

Now he has more or less clawed his way to the top, or at least arrived at the gates. He is fairly well known when compared to the average person in their field, but he is still a small fish in a big pond. Especially among the more well known celebrities, and there is a huge risk of him falling back to the bottom. His dreams have now become fear.

Backstory: Luka has been very clever ever since he was young and has been placed in an accelerated track for learning and academics. His outstanding intellect has earned him the attention of bullies and their insults on more than one occasion which is why his mother, Jun-ka Waite, suggested moving to the smaller town of Brookfield where his excellence might be less of an attraction and his genius unknown. She hopes that he can be accepted here as well as start afresh in the town where there are supposedly stranger things afoot. Once the whole family moved to Brookfield, he began noticing the occult/supernatural aspects of the city. Although not one to believe in supersitions or religion in general, he likes the odd sort of charm it lends the place. Lately, he has found himself wishing for peace and seclusion and has been taking naps at the Temple Shrine. The fact that tourists come and go does not bother him in the least, and he finds some pleasure in people watching. He does not find Armstrong Academy very impressive, but does enough to pass the classes and earn high marks on tests. He lives a fairly carefree life, not super eager to delve into future aspirations nor lingering in the past. He is quite protective of his younger sister which makes her accuse him of "smothering" her, to which he replies that he is only looking out for her and doesn't want her to find trouble as she tends to be a bit of a blabbermouth and more social and outgoing than he is. With his classmates, he is cordial and helpful when asked. Otherwise, he is mostly quiet and shuns interaction. It is clear that he has put a lot of walls up at school due to his past. He doesn't seem to want to make friends with others-- a fact that the teachers have noticed, to his dismay-- although a few of his classmates have tried to befriend him. His parents are a bit concerned that he isn't making social connections and growing as a young man. Much to his annoyance, they've urged him to make some friends and go out to social events more often.

  HistoryJakeland, what a stupid name for a town, but it definitely serves its uses. Few authority figures, most people deal in cash leaving no real trail, plenty of 'accidents' on a daily basis to mask my own, plus there's plenty of low tier gangsters that would love you to carry out their hits for the pay, and take all the credit... But you didn't ask about where I lived, did you? I was born one Rein Veri, the couple that share such a last name dead long before I could remember, which seemed inconspicuous enough to my young mind, at least at the time. I drifted between a few foster homes in my hometown of Brookfield, though I never had a true family, being separated from my elder brother at the age of five. I studied at the academy there, did quite well, though I never really aspired for much, I only ever did what I was told, never asking questions. "T-They"
  
  After my schooling I enlisted in the military, and that is where I truly found a sense of family. I excelled, doing only what was asked of me, something they seemed to love in their recruits. It was probably my lack of inquiry that landed me in what they called a 'special' team, rather than being sent to large conflicts, or patrolling as many others did, our objectives were focused. 'Ravagers' we called ourselves, a cute little name, I was only a few years in when the team was formed. The pay was outstanding, at least that's what we thought, if you knew how much money they were making off of our actions, heh, we were practically doing it for free. Go here, capture this target, set up explosive charges at this location, murder this family... Most importantly of all, never ask questions, and never speak of the work you do. "Sent you, didn't they?"
  
  Haha, sorry about the mumbling, just something I could never get out of my head. I'll keep names brief, best not to speak too loudly, but there was this one job that seemed to change everything... This one place we went to was a mansion, hell, a castle might be a better way to describe it. Armed guards patrolling the entire perimeter, lost a couple good men on that one... There's just one moment that continues to replay in my head, one that I continue to question might have changed all of this. There he was, my comrade, we were all close, but some people you can just never forget, a cool-headed guy, and yet his hands shook as he aimed the gun toward the target's temple. "T-they sent you, didn't they?" The target asked. "Do you even know why you're doing this? The kinds of people you truly work for? How much they stand to gain? If you kill me they'll strip the entire country! You might serve your government, but they ser..." That was where his words ended, as I rounded the corner to put a bullet between his ears.
  
  A few months later, that same soldier ended up dead, and for the first time in my life, I began to question how. A bullet to the back of his head during an excursion, they didn't mention that, but I could figure it out well enough from the body, and later, the autopsy files I got a hold of. That started me on a trail of his files, of what he had found during his time in the Ravagers. Fighting for true and blue America, hah! Turns out our jobs were completely corporate, each one meant to further the interest of those with far too much wealth to handle, that only wanted more. The things we had done... Men, woman, children...
  
  The further I delved into the mystery behind our own squad, and the country's activities as a whole, the more I could feel the walls closing in around me. I would look over my shoulder, only to see the same cars watching me, my every word and action being monitored, the pressure became immense... That was when I left, sure, they named me MIA, likely dead, but I couldn't continue that life, not when something far larger than that, and myself, loomed over us. It took me a while to get back home, and even longer to pick up on a trail, changed my name, even changed my look for that damned card. They're still following me, I can feel it, I just need to lay low, I can only warn people so much about what's happening... There's something deep going on in Blue Springs, all the clues led me to this city, I'm just missing that one... Piece.
  
  PersonalityAshley constantly searches for clues to her extreme views that concern the government, corporations, and relative authorities of the country, and world. She is steadfast in her beliefs, which she's constructed through years of searching, often taking vague connections for fact. In her mind there is a deep seeded conspiracy centred around the city, at the detriment of those within. Posters often litter the various streets, noting the end that comes, to question your masters, placed by her, but often ignored.
  
  To call her paranoid would be an understatement. Every second of the day is spent with her eyes twitching at any slight sound, the rats in the abandoned shitholes she often lives in are soon to be the death of her. The narcotics help, easing her through the thoughts that rattle her mind, while keeping it somewhat focused, often forcing her through days of sleepless investigation. Ashley never truly trusts anyone, constantly thinking of how they could end up forcing a knife through her back, and often beating them to it if they show slight signs of such behaviour.
  
  While morally Ash believes in helping those in need, and bringing a sort of balance to the world, there is little she won't do in her journey. Spying, seduction, murder, it's all a means to an end, and if what she theorises is true, then her actions are small prices to pay to bring the truth out... Then again, she might be completely wrong, but I wouldn't suggest it to her.

  Combat TrainingAsh spent years training in combat training, including mixed martial arts, use of a combat knife, and weapons training. While she may not be a master of any, she is definitely adept in her precision and hand to hand combat.

Rein has visited him on rare occasion, to discuss the squads missions, and possibly gain any possible insight, though mostly he attempts to bring her back into the fold, to help her out of her current state. She has not seen him for almost a year now, and he has never spoken of her to others out of respect for her misguided beliefs.
  
  Liam Alfonsi: A connection to one of the families controlling Jakeland, not by introducing her to the gang, but by having her do his work for him. This way, he gets the recognition, and she gets a good share of the pay, without anyone having to hear of her. Ashley works with him for a reason, he's weak willed, easy to read, that way she knows if he's trying to lead her into some sort of trap. After all, apart from her new appearance, the man knows nothing of her.
