Here’s the OOC thread! Not really sure what to put here. Like I said in the interest check, I don’t really have a set plot in mind. Not sure if the rp should start with everybody first showing up or if it should be after that, or maybe some characters have been there for a while and others haven’t?

Also, putting this here because I’m not sure if I should make a whole other lore thread or whatever but if people think I should then I might. But some of the stuff is going to be like. My interpretation of how it works considering I don’t think we have a full explanation for some things. Lots of it taken from fanfics/etc and some just changing canon stuff a bit.

Obviously the survivors have their little campfire area, the killers have their own respective side of the woods though I’m not entirely sure what it looks like. Survivors have a few cabins scattered around the area, I imagine the killers — or at least those who don’t have their own realm — have something like that too. Those who do have a realm of their own most likely are allowed to go back to it when trials are over so it’s not ‘in use.’ Not sure if that part would apply here, idk if the killer(s) would have their own map or whatever we’ll see what ppl come up with I guess : P

If anyone has ideas or things to add or anything else feel free to put it here! I know I don't have a character thread up yet, will prob put it up later or something, just wanted to get this out here since it looked like quite a few ppl were already interested

love the idea of a survivor that's been around for some time, helping the new arrivals get acquainted with everything going on. also slightly jaded to what is going on, "gotta clock into my shift to get chased around for hours "

oh that could work if you wanted to make a character like that! : O i like that concept too. could go with some of them having just shown up and others being there for longer, but again i guess it depends on what everyone else wants to do

i don't even have a character made or anything yet so i'm not sure myself pfft i don't mind either way, i just say that cause idk if one way or another would fit better for certain characters if that makes sense. like having everybody arriving at one time or what.

i do have a dbd oc already but his story has to do with a canon character so i figured it'd make more sense to make a new one for this rp yknow

The other is based on my D&D character, but obviously he'd be stripped of most of his magic and abilities.

I could also go for a killer, perhaps some kind of Slenderman-like being? I have less ideas for killer than I do survivor.

oh i love that first idea actually!! that's a really interesting concept imo, though i might be biased i like stuff like that, characters who can travel between worlds and all that. i have an oc who's story sorta has to do with that. a d&d based one could work too since yknow that's already a chapter in the game, though idk a whole lot about that myself

also slightly biased towards that killer idea bc i've been saying they should add slenderman to dbd since i started playing. which has not been for that long i just think it'd be cool askdljh either way though!! i like all of those ideas : D

considering making a killer as well since my other oc is a survivor, but i'm not totally sure on any ideas either... the only thing i have that i've been sorta thinking about for a while is a killer who's a dragon, either only partly or can turn into one or something idk i haven't really come up with anything besides that. i just like dragons and thought it might be interesting pfft

i'm thinking if more ppl do wanna make killers though like i said i might just up the number there. add a couple more for both roles but again we'll see what ppl wanna do idk

I think the dragon idea is super cool! They honestly need more non human killers I think! And yesss, Slenderman would be so cool to have in dbd. It's unfortunate that securing the rights would probably be very hard to do.

Ugh I'm so torn! Especially since I don't have any refs of the survivors, whereas I could literally just play Slenderman haha.... idk we'll see!

Edit: My D&D character is an aasimar, essentially an angel. He'd be stripped of his powers, because obvi having wings would make it easy for him to just. Fly over the walls of the trials, or fly to escape the killers. I feel like it could be a nice contrast to have something kinda divine in a place of such suffering.

yeah that'd def work! if you wanna i say go for it. not sure if i will, as i've already said 100 times idk what i'm doing but that's what this thread is for, figuring stuff out pfft mainly thinking about a killer rn but we'll see

My killer idea is basically an invulnerable guy with superstrength, kinda like Meyers or Jason, but he relies on raw physical strength to brawl instead of weapons or magic.

He was in an insane asylum for murdering a fellow student at 15, then broke out ten years later to continue his rampage before taking two shotgun slugs through the eyes and falling off a cliff. The entity gave him new eyes in exchange for his services as a killer.

I’d recommend writing up a character sheet and DMing it to interested people, then review the sheets to make sure they all fit together.

i wonder how that would work with amelia still being a survivor? would she go between the respective areas for each side, would neither claim her..? i only ask because yknow it might come up plus someone else i started a rp had a similar concept with a character both being a survivor and killer in a way, theirs also being something that possessed the person and that part is the killer while the human/host is the survivor and we were talking about similar things

She could communicate with survivors during trials, given no one completes a generator too quickly. I also think it'd cause some interesting interactions between her and other killers, if the killers have some sort of similar communal area. I can imagine some being like "what's a survivor doing over here" and trying to kill her, only for the Shade to jump in and scare them off.

Another RP my friends did had the killers have a similar setup to survivors, where they had their own campsite, and some lockers to store their items in, but they were free to traverse between different trial grounds that weren't in use.

yep unfortunately that's just how dbd is... the entity is not nice lol

i'd think people get. "used to" it after some time but not truly, if that makes sense. like you sorta become desensitized after dying and coming back so many times

oh btw! if i haven't messaged you that it wasn't, which i haven't for anyone yet lol your character is good to go/has been accepted. i know i said i'd message you if yours was accepted but i figured it'd be easier to do the opposite.

also, upped the number of ppl for each role like i said. 4 killers and 6 survivors, which leaves room for a couple more seeing what we already have. if more people want to join after that then i'll see but for now i think it's ok!

edit: realized there's only room for more survivors then if me and someone else are working on killers rn. if anyone else wants to make one, like i said we'll see

I'd be content with a survivor character. Especially since they remember the trials vs in-canon where their memories are wiped for fresh terror.

Would be interesting to make someone invested in studying The Entity. Possibly even before they got yoinked by her.
