Sign up form
~Stipulations for the sign-up
  • Nothing is really required. Im not stingy like that, but the more detailed and filled out stuff is, the more we get from your character :). So it is recommended to fully fill it out.
  • The DW has been a roleplay, I created, a long time ago, I rped it for a long time, and it has a LOT of history, regarding it. But, I'm remaking it here (again lol), hoping to give it new life with new people! ^^
  • Any rpers want to have their characters cemented in the history of Dark World? Want them to be central to any plots or pasts of our current characters? Feel free to ask, and I'll try to help come up with history involving them!
  • Abnorm Rank will be a part in the form. Now I'll try to be lenient on this one. But at the same time I'm going to be strict on it. Not everyone is going to be running around as SSX Abnorms! Lol. So please bare with me regarding it, and be reasonable with it as well.[/li]

>I'm sorry about the (what seems like) overly complicated form. But I sincerely want some effort here. I want the Dark World rp to be amazing again. I've worked hard on this, and I kinda expect you to, too. Considering if you fill out that form (to the best you can), I know you'll be at least somewhat serious to the roleplay! Be respectful, and be mindful. Thanks again!! <3

Name: Vira (Escaflowne)
Age: 21
Gender: Female

Abnormal? If so Power: "Danger Close". Vira's abnormality comes in the form of a 'sixth sense'. A heightened sense in the back of her mind that tells her when danger approaches. It grants her reflexes to avoid things that one normally wouldn't be able to avoid. Sometimes it is strong enough to even show Vira the danger in her own mind, even if she can't actually see it. It also has progressed to this point in her life, where it helps her avoid any 'danger' at all. Starvation -it helps her locate food, losing her way that could potentially lead to her injury or worse -it helps map a safe course for her, etc. Anything dangerous at all, Vira's power senses it, but it does often leave Vira to decide for herself what the dangers it senses are like or just how threatening they can be (unless they are very threatening, at which point Vira will be harshly warned). Just how pressing they are, or just how 'dangerous' they are. In this sense, Vira uses her own common sense in tandem with her power.
Abnorm Type: 1
Abnorm Rank: B

Appearance: A slender, yet sturdy girl with a fit, slightly muscular body. Some more masculine features. One who focuses hard on their form for combat reasons.
Eye colour: Rust
Hair colour: Midnight Black
Weight: 124 lbs
Height: 5'8''
Body Modifications: Two Fangs tattooed on her back, the right one filled in with color. Signifying the 'Devil and His Demons' gang.
Other: Various scars on her body, from the intense training she had. Scars over her tat, where she tried to cut it off.
Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Once apart of the Devil and His Demons gang. Had a sister.

Personality:
Vira is a tough girl, who takes no crap from anyone. She isn't afraid to lash out and speak her mind. Vira is a very headstrong girl who does what she wants. She has a very tough exterior and very rarely shows any sign of compassion, sympathy or love. She considers all of those to be weakness and gets angry when anyone shows any of them. This isn't to say she doesn't feel anything besides anger and fury, she just never shows it. She doesn't -no- can't talk about herself due to her terrible trust issues. However, she does have a strong sense of duty and an interest in justice.

Likes (at least 3): Being the boss. Being alone. Being vulgar. Drinking.
Dislikes (at least 3): Compassion. Sympathy. Love. Showing weakness.
Strengths (any): She's great with a sword. Very flexible and has mastered dirty, street fighting. She's akin to being a quick assassin of sorts. Also sixth-sense, her heightened ability to avoid things.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Pretty frail, can't really take more than a few hits. Drinking. She doesn't trust others well.

History:
Vira and her sister, Ellie, 'worked' in a gang called the Devil and His Demons. (They were apart of it from a very young age.) Together they were the leader's right (and left) hands, indicated by the tats on each of their backs. Meaning they were quite close to the leader, standing beside the "Devil" (his name in the gang) at his literal right and left hands. They might've been little girls, but the gang respected them, since he made it apparent they were special to him; he seemed to care for them, but... Ellie seemed to believe he was just manipulating the two young girls. Which he trained hard, to be assassins for him. Vira, in specific, would do various undesirable, dirty jobs for the Devil, where he soon began to favor the dark-haired girl.

However, soon the two sisters began to question his and their own actions. It was Vira's specialty to get in and kill under his orders, earning her the nickname 'The Snake', or 'The Fang', for her ability to strike quick and make it deadly. Shortly thereafter, Ellie perished in a uncontrollable fire on one of their missions. Vira was thoroughly devastated at the loss of the only person she truly loved. After which, she left the gang, recalling some of Ellie's speculations, questioning their leader, and of their own positions within the gang. To respect her sister's wishes to leave, Vira did just that, thinking it was best in the end. Since she was the leader's right hand she wasn't pursued initially. Now Vira is out living a lonesome life, doing freelance work as a mercenary for hire.

Name: Hidden
Age:
? (youthful)
Gender: Female
Abnormal? If so Power: Unknown
Abnorm Type: Unknown
Abnorm Rank: Unknown

Appearance: Hidden's appearance is quite hard to discern, due to the dark cloak she wears that covers 90% of her from head to toe. This cloak seems to shimmer and reflect the surroundings around her, making her sort of hard to focus on; at times, she seems to disappear into her surroundings. What is noticeable, is that she is a slender woman, youthful, of medium height. She has long silver hair that peaks out from her hood down her front. It is so beautiful and so silver, that it often reflects the area around her, glimmering colors that don't necessarily display its silver coloring. She is pale, and most assume she is quite attractive, for she has a pleasing appearance, on the rare occasion she reveals her face.

Eye colour: ?
Hair colour: Silver
Weight: 120 lbs approx
Height: 5'7''
Body Modifications: ?
Other: ?

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?:
Seems to have some connections to 'The One' Abnorm gang. (Though apparently has recently cut ties with them.)
Seems to have strong connections to 'The Prophets' Abnorm gang.

Personality:
A young woman with a silver tongue, Hidden acts extremely casually around basically everyone. Don't let that fool you, she is highly intelligent (or appears to be), which allows her her glorious glib, and smooth wit. She talks with a polite lilt that encourages people to trust her. Although, her generally friendly demeanor can lead people to the opposite conclusion. She may act trustworthy, but it is her mystery and intrigue that makes people reluctant to put any sort of faith in her. In addition, her peculiar overconfidence can be quite unnerving for her targets. Most people are 'targets' in her eyes, thus Hidden's true nature -underneath the hood- comes into question by smarter folk. Regardless, Hidden is such a master of 'the deal', that even in the face of people's distrust, she tends to get her way; often convincing people to back down, or accept her 'deals'.

Likes (at least 3): A good deal. Displaying her wit and confidence. ?
Dislikes (at least 3): She doesn't seem to like when people deny her a deal. Or when they seem to show signs of a lack of logic. It can be assumed that she dislikes when people are dishonest with her.
Strengths (Any): Hidden seems to have a silver tongue, making her a prime candidate to make deals, to find out information, and to get people to do what she wants them to do. She seems to be a fair bit more intelligent than those she most often interacts with. She has a very soft presence, allowing her to 'phase' in and out around people. Yet she has a strong, self-assured personality, that makes people struggle to deny her what she says and/or wants. She seems to be highly manipulative.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): ?

History: ?
There are certain 'oddities' about her so far, that makes Hidden quite the intriguing, enigmatic character...

Name: Jackson Pyle
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Abnormal? If so Power: Fist of the Starry Sky. Jackson's Abnormality is a close range power which focuses on brute strength and combat as opposed to another abnormality. His abnormality has stages to it as he uses it continuously. Stage 1 is his normal usage of Fist of the Starry Sky. Stage 2: He gains increased power, his punches hit harder, he takes more hits, and gains increased reflexes. This change is noted when his veins glow crimson red. Stage 3 is his final stage of his abnormality, and it is used when a fight is about to end, his fists and feet become bathed in a white light.

Eye colour: blue
Hair colour: Black
Weight: 180
Height: 6'
Body Modifications: None
Other: None

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Brief affiliation with The World Government through his parents.

Personality: Jackson's a serious, yet laid back individual who will attempt diplomacy at first to ease an argument. Most of the time he's a outgoing person, but on occasion he is a quiet man. However, if he sees something wrong and can act without any consequence, he will.

(These don't count towards the sentences)
Likes (at least 3): Peace, rights for all, chocolate, alcohol to numb his pain
Dislikes (at least 3): salty food, taking advantage of something/someone, fighting without a reason
Strengths (Any): Combat(gun) training(from his father), durability, technology knowledge(from his mother)
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Has trouble with non English languages. Anger will increase his power, yet also increase his recklessness.

History:

Jackson was born to Amanda and Raymond Pyle after WW3 in the confines of a WG city. Growing up Jackson had the perks of being a son of WG citizens, a quality education, security and loving parents. However, this was to change as when Jackson turned 10, his abnormality manifested, luckily at their family's state assigned home. Amanda was a scientist who helped develop the American counter to the Godhand super weapon and Roger was a down and dirty army captain. An argument got heated which caused Jackson to punch a dent in the floor, which was made of solid steel, shocking both his parents. Originally, Jackson was deemed a pure human as nothing had come up to suggest he was an abnorm. This revelation meant that it had been a latent power and the WG had no idea that their son was an abnorm. Despite the routine turning in of Abnorms, they loved their son too much and instead decided to hone and train his abilities, with his mothers' smarts and his father's combat expertise. Hopefully they could build a case to let the WG overlook this allowing him to serve as a fighting force. His mother coined the abnormal's name given the situation that Jackson was in. Jackson trained both his mind and body as well as simple knife fighting when he needed to keep his abnormality hidden. Eventually, he was able to control and conceal it. When he was 19, during a class break in his state sanctioned upper class break. A classmate began to pick on him and tease him. Jackson simply ignored him, that is until the human tormentor swung at him. Jackson punched the tormentor caving in their chest and silence soon followed. Knowing that he had likely killed someone, he had to run. Jackson ran to his home and explained the situation to his parents. They cried and understood that for in order for him to survive, he had to flee the city. His father gave him his old pre war military uniform and a durasteel knife to defend himself. After saying goodbye, he fled the city and escaped. Currently 24 years old, Jackson did a stint in some guilds to earn supplies as well as gain a base of operations. However, there is still some hope that he has that he might be able to see his parents again, however unlikely.

Name: Alex Cambell

Age: 19
Gender:male
Abnormal? If so Power: Electrical Impulse: Alex's spine mutated into a volt core, amplifying his own electrical impulses into powerful energy currents. Alex can, with his mind, use the electricity in a variety of ways. He is able to discharge it from his own body in bursts highly destructive lightning. He can also blink short distances as pure electrical energy, quite rapidly. Eventually, his power will evolve. When he wills his electricity, he calls it "flexing". His electrical impulse also gives hime quicker reflexes and speed, but this is nothing monstrous. Just above a normal humans ability. As he matures, so will his physical prowess.
Abnorm Type: 2
Abnorm Rank: B

Appearance: Alex is a handsome kid; a little larger than average, but still very much able to be identified as a kid. He was born with blonde hair and green eyes, but his appearance changed when his abnorm abilities began to manifest. Alex is trim, his body kept in shape from being forced to fend for himself. He has multiple scars on his body from both family and other people he has had to fight. Alex wears dark jeans, beaten up boots, a grey and black hoodie.
Eye colour: Striking blue, but glowing white when he is "flexing" his energy.
Hair colour: White
Weight: 168lbs
Height: 5'11
Body Modifications: none
Other: Alex was branded by the Prophets, a cross burned into the flesh on the back of his neck. The cross seems to be made of lightning, striking it on the top, the bolt itself reaching down from his upper head, hidden beneath his snow white locks.

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: For several months, Alex worked for the Prophets to make enough money to support his little sister, but left after she was murdered. During his short time there, he received the name Azrael, or angel of death.

Personality: Alex is strong, deceptively so. What was once a good humored boy is now a dark brooding teen hellbent on forging a warpath straight into hell, were it to bring him closure. Now, he pushes himself beyond all limits, driven by his mission. Alex never quits, being more than willing to die for what he believes in. However, he does tend to have tunnel vision, and can lose sight of the world around him when he is focused on something. Alex can still talk to people, and be friendly, but he is instinctively wary of most people, especially abnorms, despite him being one. Once someone has earned his trust, however, Alex would die for that person. Family is something that was stolen from him, and so that much more valuable now. Alex picks up missions on the side to fund his mission, as well as hunt for leads on him.

Likes (at least 3): solitude, puppies, justice, family, storms, birds, and playing cards.
Dislikes (at least 3): most abnorms, alcohol (or anything that dulls his mind, as he is always focused on his mission to avenge his sister) , swimming, people that lie to him.
Strengths (Any): Alex is a good hand to hand fighter: Although he is self trained, his enhanced speed and strength give him an upper hand on most opponents. The last year he spent looking for his sisters murderer put him in many brawls, giving him plenty of practice. Alex is also relativly smart, despite being fed many lies during his education from the WG.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Water (contact with water sends him into spasms as it interferes with his abnormality. short exposure causes him intense pain and muscles spasms, as well as reduced brain function, but prolonged exposer can kill him.) He also struggles at making friends because of his loss of his friends and family, and his drive to avenge his sister.

History: Alex lived in freefall city, and had a happy life for most of his childhood, with two parents who worked hard and a little sister, Emily, who he adored and cared for since her birth. Despite his fear of Abnorms, Alex was a kid of good humor, who tried to make the best of his life, and lead a good example for his sister to follow. He had lots of friends, but everything changed after his turn. When Alex turned 17, he began to go through changes rapidly, his appearance changing, as well as a prevailing electrical abnorm ability.

Alex's friends began to ignore him, or call him names. His parents began to become distant and hateful: The only one who never turned her back on him was his little sister, Emily. 2 weeks after his full turning, Alex's parents tried to kill him by beating him with a lead pipe and cutting him with a kitchen knife. During the struggle, Alex accidentally electrocuted both of his parents, stopping their hearts and killing them. Terrified, he and his sister gathered their measly belongings and fled their home, running deep into the mid east. There, he quickly ran out of recourses and resorted to working for the prophets to make money to support his little sister. The prophets were happy to accept him and put his abilities to good use, treating him and his sister relatively well. During one of his missions, however, his sister was murdered brutally by one of the fallen lords. Enraged by her death, Alex began fighting his own personal war against the fallen lords, searching for the lord who killed his sister. His mission became so consuming that he fled the prophets and traveled west and north, searching for his target. The Prophets have sent several agents to bring Azrael back, dead or alive.

I N I R - G R I M L I T H
Character completed.

Name: Inir Grimlith

Age: 37

Gender: Male

Power: Mental - Both telekinetic and mind control.

Abnorm Rank: C

Abnorm Type: 2

Eyes color: Light brown

Personality: Acts like an honored guard - In order to take the roll of "The Warden" he changed his own personality and ideologies through trauma, or maybe was the background radiation. He has a *Just* sense of justice-balance, in which he seeks to protect all creatures from harm. Both Evil - and Good.

Thus he represents both kindness and severeness. Even in this world, has a high sense of morality. He has also the constant issue to speak the truth, not being capable nor interested to deceive.

Likes:
Balance between chaos and order
Learn new things about peoples behavior
His own Moral Duty to aid.

Dislikes:
Finding obstacles through his work.
That one of his projections drowns.
Chaotic good or evil people.

Strengths:
*1 Projection of his own entity. (Multiple personalities)

Weakness:
*2 Focus.
*3 Psychopath.
*4 Stubborn.

New Image.jpg
Inir Grimlith - Alias "The Warden" is known to be nothing but an illusion, however there is a far more horrible tragedy behind the story of this so call ghost. One that began before the WW3.

Before he became "Inir Warden" he was nothing but a youth adult with the ambitious of any commoner. A promotion, a better house or sheets for the new bed; things that now seem to be faint and a luxury. He was not alone on this thought, neither on his so common life. A woman known by the name of 'Sura' was his wife to be.

A curious thing was that, the great bombardment of the entire world happened the same day Inir Warden was departing to meet his wife in some grey corner, near a cafetiere where they would take a table for two, only to know there will soon ask for a table for four. She was pregnant. What a curious destiny he had.

There was already some expectation of what was going to happen, there were already ideas to get a fallout shelter. But the life of the common men are not as open to recreation, to manufacture new ways to survive. People stick to their habits until they can't - Not anymore.

What is indeed curious of it all, was that the wind sorted a different direction that time. That the taxi he has so taken in order to reach his wife at the cafeteria suggest a faster route. That the route was under developed and the car had to go for a longer road and the clouds above began to rain. That a old woman fell and the car stopped. That Inir left the car, helped the woman and let the car take her to the nearest hospital. That he was already too far away to die like everyone else.

The radiation, such as the trauma and the diseases did not only paid a toll on his mind, but his body entirely. His cells regenerated at a incredibly speed which seem to keep his body young. A man out of time, far from home upon a broken world, shattered by mankind greatest catastrophic, themselves.

Days passed by as he accepted people's fate, his wife's fate. Alongside with his powers that continued to emerge... until his brain saw through the memories patrons that weren't there before - like hidden lines of codes we can only see when we understand their languages. So he saw through his memories a truth that escaped his normal brain. She was, undoubtedly, pregnant, regardless of how much the facts only became worse as he understood... The father of an unborn child, reduced to a ruin by a war's folly.

His powers began to flow guided by the sorrow and, clearly, radiation. Becoming an Abnorm was not an easy step for him, it required a lot from himself to even barely understand the basics of what he was doing. However it helped that the part affected was actually his brain thus making him slowly adaptable to the new abilities hence the speed he realize of his wife pregnancy.

He was once, also, a writer, one that bends the words in order to perfect his own reality. So he twisted his own reality with more than words, but oaths. He removed his own name as the burden it became and call himself "The Warden". A new name chosen to create a promise to be fulfill, one that echoes on his head by many voices and one, mumbling. He became refined, but also disturbed. Polite, but broken. This was not the promise of peace, nor war. But balance... duty... honor. Bend the world around him to create anew, in which people will never seek utterly destruction.

He went everywhere he could pass by, visited all or most cities that now exist over the foundations of the old world. Therefore he had hidden his physical body, underground... away from the eyes of men, away from harm...

What does he seeks? He has long pass through revenge, he has nothing to follow - But he has a new world to save from itself. Neither chaos nor order shall rule... Let there be *only* silence.

  • Projections - In order to keep himself from harms way, The Warden creates a identical image of himself that acts just like the man itself. It can pick up objects from the ground, speak normally, etc. However has a very limited resistance to harm. When pains becomes unbearable, the connection between host and projection disrupts and gives the host a taste of the pain though reduced. Upon the commotion, the host can again regain control of his projection.

There is a possibility that the Host may control more than one projection at once. However it requires a great deal of vital energy for survivable. Regardless of the later toll, it has proven that it shatters the host's personalities into many, even break his mind as the entities begin to speak as if they had independence and free-will of his own. Referring himself as *We* rather than *I* will mean "The Warden" is actually using more than one projection.

Blood Share: If a creature takes in her blood and shares their own, their abnorm power is enhanced. Works on Time delay. Only lasts for a short time. Eight hours. Only works on those with abnormal or genetically modified blood.
Blood Song: Once Blood Share is completed the abnorm will be compelled by strong needs to protect her in the form of a song that grows sweeter and louder the closer they are. It resides in their blood. Ignoring it is painful. They will always be able to find her as her blood now sings like a siren's call to them.
Blood Sense: Snow can sense when power is around her. Sometimes she mixes it up with if a human is just scary or something. But it is usually a good ping for sensing other Abnorms. The more powerful the abnorm, the more her blood can sense it.
Blood Bond: If the abnorm she is currently in Blood share with dies, she will be seriously injured. It will feel as if a part of her has died. If she dies while in a Blood share, the person will feel as a part of them has died. It is to ensure she protect them as they protect her.

Gender: Female
Eyecolor: Rose Blood pink
Haircolor: Pale blonde/ white
Weight: 128
Height: 5’2
Body Modifications:
Rose thorns grow out of her skin and around her arms and legs when she is using her abnorm powers. They are covered in her blood so if someone attacks her, there is a high chance they will swap blood and be compelled to protect her for a short time. She always has pale skin and is always scared over her arms and legs where the thorns prick her skin.
Weaknesses:
Physically weak
No offensive powers
Small
Naive
Pet Peeves:
People pitying her. Liars.
Hobbies:
Reading, walking, maps (she dreams of a life of adventure and travel)
Personality:
Empathetic, nervous, cautious, independent, easy crier, shy, embarrasses easily, guarded
Bio:
Born to the world was a babe with the palest skin and almost white blonde hair.
"As delicate as a flower," her father said who shook his shaggy brown hair. In the village the babe was born, dark hair was the most common.
"She shines with beauty." Her mother whispered with love in her eyes.
"We shall call her Snow. Our unique delicate Snowflake." To the parents horror though...the babe opened it's eyes.

As a young girl Snow was marked as different from birth. Her eyes were the color of roses. They stared into your soul, into the darkest deepest depths you had never even visioned yourself. Her Mother and Father realized she was an Abnorm. A creature that was not human. They're precious baby girl with eyes of rose, would grow up to be a Devil’s Child. The village feared the child and in their fear, they isolated her. Even her own parents avoided touching her skin.

Word spread and the WG leader of the land where the village lay, rebuilding it’s crumbled life after the war, came to the house of Snow when she was just 14. He came in hopes of using this child for his own gains. A human who could control an Abnorm. Maybe she would lead him to others. As he led her out of the house back to a life of slavery the sky broke open in thunder, crying from the heavens. The rain froze and a blizzard covered the air so thick that it seemed as if all were blind. In the storm Snow escaped.

On the road she met a Traveler who was not afraid of her eyes. The two grew together for years... and fell in love. They moved from place to place, following ancient maps while Snow began to regain what the village had taken from her… trust in people. He was her hero.

The Traveler asked for her hand and the two wed at a small destroyed chapel in the hills... when they returned to the house he had built for her, they were ambushed by Bounty Hunters looking for her. Snow wept and ran as her husband was slaughtered.

She hides now from those that wish to trap her as a prized bird in a gilded cage. Her whole life is destined to make her a tool to be captured and used. Along her travels, some said they only wished to protect her from the world. That she needed to be protected. "How could you ever defend yourself? You need a Guild." She learned three things as she ran from her husband's house. Love was a weakness not to be trusted. Safety was a breath before capture. To rely on others... is to give up your freedom. She strives to never make those mistakes again. Her greatest wish is to be her own savior. No one would ever be allowed to be her hero again. Even if it killed her.

Other:
Since meeting the group of abnorms she now calls her friends, Snow has found a new desire within her. She wishes to learn how to be a hero, how to save her group and be an asset to them in these troubling times ahead. If she can learn how to be brave and control her power instead of just running from it, she knows she can be some help to her allies.

~Does this look like the face of someone who knows what he's doing to you?~

Name: Lucca Malkovich

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Abnormal? If so Power: Remember-Me-Not. It was a trivial abnormality, hardly noticeable and so easily overlooked, just like Lucca. As a boy, and even now, he never seem to standout, hardly ever made much of an impression, and sometimes, even his parents forget that he's around, and it's not out of the lack of trying either, he's just so easily forgotten. Or course, it's not as if he's invisible, you could still see him, and you could find him if you have it in your mind to look for him, it's just that his presence never seem to linger in the minds of other for long in the first place. As such, only the most mindful takes notice of him, but even then, he'll fade from their minds soon enough.

Abnorm Type: 1

Abnorm Rank: E

Appearance: Despite, or rather, due to his lack of presence, Lucca goes out of his way to wear the flashiest of outfits, though mostly to no avail that does not stop him from trying. Nowadays, he had made a shtick out of being a gun-slinging-cowboy-bounty-hunter and dresses exactly for that.

Eye colour: Pale Blue

Hair colour: Blonde

Weight: 141 lbs

Height: 5'8"

Body Modifications: N/A

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: League of Bounty Hunters

Personality: For one, Lucca is loud, bombastic, even mischievous, eager to make an impression on the people he meets, sadly to little avail due to his abnormality. However, he is eternally optimistic, and one of these days he's sure everyone will know his name, one of these days... He makes it a point to never give up, but has come to know his own limits enough to know not to be too stubborn. Finally, Lucca is one to take life one step at a time, not much in favor of thinking too far ahead and prefers to enjoy the now rather than worrying about what may happen latter.

As a bounty hunter, Lucca prefers the non-lethal methods of capturing the Abnorms, using tranquilizer darts and other traps to bring in his prey. However, he has been in the business long enough to know that sometimes you can't have it all, and is capable of putting a "live one" into someone that may be far too dangerous to deal with non-lethally. As part of the League of Bounty Hunters, and being a regular citizen at one point, Lucca, though not fully bought into the whole "Devil Children" business, thinking it to be mere superstition, does believe that the World Government is indeed there for the good of all and that the Abnorms he brought in are either locked up for being dangerous criminals or are being treated for their abnormality in someways.

Being forgotten.

Strengths (Any): With his abnormality, stealth his Lucca's best weapon, for as long as he keeps his mouth shut and his shenanigans to the minimum level, he can get the jump on any unwary target. Another is his wits, honed from his days as a bounty hunter, of which without he would have kicked the bucket a long time ago.

Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Lucca is terribly useless in hand-to-hand combat and even his gun-play is mediocre, and should anyone get a jump on him before he jumps them, the fight will be over then and there. He also has a tendency to gamble on his hunches and rely on his instincts, especially when he does not know what he's doing, which happens more often than desired. Had it not been for his occasionally quick wits and some dumb luck, he'd be long dead.

History: He was a boy unnoticed by anybody, hardly standing out and never garnered attention. However, that fact made him crave the gaze of others more, getting into various mischief and shenanigans to make heads turn his way. That said, he never really kept those attention for long, and soon he'd fade from the minds of those around him all too quickly. Some may have already given up and embraced their lots in life by this point, but not Lucca, he was a stubborn boy back in the day and he kept on going and going and going.

By the time he was of age, his situation had not changed one bit, and in fact, now it's even worse, since being completely inconspicuous makes it hard to get employment, as the employers tend to have already forgotten about him as soon as he walk out of their door. But on one fateful day, just when he was feeling a tad bit down for being on a full year without employment, a flyer, delivered by the winds sent by perhaps destiny itself, came into his hands.

On the flyers, such words followed, "Do you wish for fame? Do you wish for fortune? Do you wish to bring peace back to this world? Join the League of Bounty Hunters now to gain all that and more! No requirements or prior experience needed, just sign up and you can be one of us!"

And Lucca did exactly that, and after putting his name down on their paperwork, he was part of the league, not at all aware that he's not quite human himself.

Name: Ryuji "Blood Born Fox" Nakamoto
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Abnormal? If so Power: A Taste of Immortality- Ryuji's power is an accelerated healing factor that enables him to heal from major wounds in a matter of seconds. Severe and sometimes even wounds considered fatal to most can heal, though they usually take a great deal of time and rest on Ryuji's part.
Abnorm Type: 2
Abnorm Rank: B

Appearance: A man who's physique is lean, but lacks any true mass Ryuji is considered a pretty boy by many.
Eye colour: Brown
Hair colour: Red
Weight: 153lbs
Height: 6'2"
Body Modifications: Tatoo on his left shoulder with no meaning and two scars running down his right shoulder to the middle of his back.
Other: Often wears a mask when on an assignment, which earned him his nickname the blood born fox.

Ryuji's mask.jpg

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Currently an assassin within the Forever Army, but often disappears for "personal reasons".

Personality: Incredibly laid back and lazy are the two most common terms used within the Forever Army to describe Ryuji. He laughs, jokes, and honestly doesn't seem fazed by the fact that the world has ended. So long as he can eat, drink, and sleep around, he's content to live his life. However, those OUTSIDE the Forever Army describe Ryuji as a nightmare. A terrifying fox demon born to kill humans that dare speak out against Jeauyus, Anjika or Elusa. Eyes brimmed with hatred and blood lust, he is an S class abnorm that should be avoided at all costs.

(These don't count towards the sentences)
Likes (at least 3): Good Sake, Fine Women, Relaxing Music, Putting WG in its place.
Dislikes (at least 3): The WG, The Trinity, Being called a Devil's Child, Weak Alcohol, and dogs.
Strengths (Any): A nimble fighter that knows the pressure points on the human body like the back of his hand. And is familiar with a variety of venoms, poisons and toxins.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Is still vulnerable to poisons, is overconfident due to his ability, can still die from instantaneous killing blows, Ryuji still bleeds during the recovery time and can pass out from blood loss. He also doesn't know when to stop flirting.

History: Born an average human in what was formerly known as Tokyo, Ryuji was once an earnest kid trying to make a living helping out everyone in his community. He was most known for his carefree attitude and glowing smile. Despite the life of a scrounger, Ryuji seemed relatively happy to explore the city and rummage through the wastes to find parts and help people survive.

During his early teens, Ryuji came back from a trip deep within the heart of Tokyo. He seemed different to everyone that had known him. His laid back style still remained, but his smile always seemed hollow, afraid even. When the Forever Army came into the village, they soon figured out why. Ryuji tried to protect his home and in the process got a cut on his face that healed nearly instantly. The Forever Army saw his potential while his community looked at him with fear. With nowhere else to turn, Ryuji joined the Forever Army.

While in the army, Ryuji learned that his easy going attitude led to an adaptive mindset, constantly changing his plan to fit the new situation. It was this that had his commanding officers have him relocated to train with the small assassin division of the Army. Ryuji found himself right at home here. The endurance and interrogation survival training were naturally easier for him with his ability. This enabled him to improve his healing to the point that broken bones would heal within a couple of minutes. The other trainings were far more difficult. Fighting was the hardest thing for Ryuji to learn as his lacking weight made it difficult for him to overpower someone. Fortunately one of the older assassins was willing to teach Ryuji the art of pressure point manipulation. It was this that made Ryuji a capable killer and assassin.

All the while, Ryuji learned of the hatred towards Abnorms and how the humans called them devil children. It made him remember the look of fear on his community's face when they saw his ability and instilled his own hatred within him. He had still been himself, so why did they fear him? Ultimately, the anger became a party of Ryuji's tactics. He soon helped to continue the conquest of New-Asia and spread the rumors about an assassin that hunts and kills enemies of the King of All while wearing a mask stained red with the blood of his victims. Or at least, that's what the rumors say.

With the power of the Forever Army growing and King of All's dream of bringing the world under one banner growing closer, Ryuji has been sent to New-America to cause as much of a disruption with the World Government as physically possible. It's his first major assignment and although he's ready to put these heartless monsters to rest, he also wants to observe this world and see what life is like for a land ruled by humans. So he wanders, taking everything in while plotting how to start the inevitable fall of the WG.

    Name
    Kaia Winters

    Gender
    Female
    Abnormal? If so Power
Yes, none (that she is aware of at this time). The only indicators of her abnormality are her oddly colored hair/eyes and her genetic structure.
Kaia is what you could call a late bloomer. Her DNA contains all the genetic code for an abnorm, but her actual power is still something she has yet to discover. Unbeknownst to her, her ability is a type of Hydro Manipulation. In other words, she can manipulate water. She is able to lift and form water to shapes of her desire as well as cooling it to the point where it freezes. By freezing the moisture in the air, she can use her ability to freeze people and objects. Along the same line, she can also use water molecules in the air to refract light and make herself appear nearly invisible to the naked eye. If you were to look close enough, you might see a sort of glimmer ripple across her body in this form if light hit her just right. However, she cannot heat water or raise its temperature by any means. Her power is cold-oriented.

At this point in time, she's only unlocked a very small part of her ability. When experiencing intense emotions, like fear or anger, she begins to cool the surrounding moisture in the air subconsciously, making it almost frigid. She does not consciously realize that she has an ability at this time.

Name: Scarlett "Dog" O'Hare
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Abnormal? If so Power: Strength of the Colossus- Scarlett's body has the ability to lift up to 2 tons with ease and can carry up to 20 tons at her upper limits. This immense strength is present throughout her body and leaves her attacks having high amounts of collateral damage. Scarlett's ability for throwing is limited to anything that she can pick up with ease in both her hands, which means at maximum, 4 tons.
Abnorm Type: 1
Abnorm Rank: B

Appearance: A small girl with a slender build, people often can't believe the feats that her ability allows her to pull off.
Eye colour: Scarlett
Hair colour: Scarlett
Weight: 130pounds, though she doesn't look it.
Height: 4'2"
Body Modifications: None whatsoever.
Other:

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Currently acts as an "enforcer" for a moderately sized gang that relies on her to push their agenda.

Personality: Quiet and unsure of herself, Scarlett doesn't understand what it means to be a person. She's been treated like a dog almost all her life and has come to expect it from people. Trusting nobody but herself and her "master" leaves her cold towards others. If that wasn't enough to push people away, the girl often lacks emotions, not feeling anything when someone dies or is pleading for mercy. She knows to follow her orders so that she gets fed and sheltered. However, when she's given her orders, she is ruthless and suddenly seems to come alive as if the rush of battle is all that she knows and lives for.

Likes (at least 3): Sweets, Head Pats, Fighting, Comfy beds and sleeping.
Dislikes (at least 3): Being woken, Thunder/Lightning, Guns, Fire and anyone that isn't her master.
Strengths (Any): Wielding unrestrained power, this girl is the definition of overkill, often damaging large amounts of property during her missions. She is fiercely loyal and dedicated, never stopping until she's completed her mission.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Scarlett consumes a great deal of energy when she uses her abilities and needs large amounts of protein and carbohydrates to keep up her strength. And should she ever be without orders, the girl doesn't know what to do with herself as everyone has cared for her like a pet.

History: Scarlett was born into a large family of six children, four cousins, three uncles, one aunt, her parents and both her grandparents living in the same home. Every last one of them was a natural born abnorm with a tremendous ability. However this garnered the attention of some very unsavory characters, the WG and the entire family had a massive bounty put on their heads. By the time the family would settle into a new location they would have to move once more to hide from the Bounty Hunters that would come for them. But constantly running took its toll.

Eventually the family had to stop running because the grandparents couldn't take it anymore. Rather than abandon them though, the O'Hare family stuck together along with four year old Scarlett to try and defend themselves. But they were overwhelmed by the sheer number of hunters. Unable to do anything, Scarlett was forced to run away at her parents' orders. The girl using her immense strength to leap away and lose her trackers, however she wound up knocking on death's door in the process.

Lucky for her, a "kind soul" found the girl and brought her into his gang. The man fed her and helped her get back on her feet before testing her to see if she was human or not. When she nearly threw one of his men across the camp, he declared Scarlett as "Dog" and kept her close to his side. He trained her rigorously to follow his orders, often starving the poor girl if she didn't do as she was told. Without food, she couldn't use her ability. Without her ability she was useless to the gang and ignored. This treatment trained Scarlett to think of as nothing more than an animal to protect her "master" and hunt her "master's" enemies. She hardened herself and shut down then need to question orders. As long as she obeyed she was clothed, fed and protected from those that began to look at her with less than impure thoughts.

With her strength, Scarlett eventually brought in more members to the gang. Though Scarlett never cared, so long as she was given food and protection, she would fight for her master and be the pillar of strength to keep the gang standing.

Sera Lynnx

Age: 29

Gender: Female

Abnormal Ability: Sealing Blood

A mutation within Sera's blood that modified its molecular structure. Now, her blood is equivalent to that of both an anti-biotic and a strong band-aid. When any form of flesh wound is inflicted, the blood flows only long enough to seal the injury. Note that the blood does not completely heal an injury nor can it regrow a severed limb, it dries into a skin-colored covering that feels like canvas. Once the wound is completely healed, the covering becomes loose.

Secondly, Sera's blood can also be used to treat flesh wounds inflicted upon another person. It is a painful process for Sera as she must draw her own blood in order to do so, however.

Abnormal Type and Rank
Type 2, Rank C

Hair Color
Silver Black, a reddish braided highlight going down her left shoulder

Weight: 152 lb, 69 kg

Height: 5'7 feet

Body Modifications: Numerous lines scattered around her arms.

Affiliations (Past or Present): N/A

Personality
Sera is a guardian and a mother through and through. Serving as a medic in her younger years, she cared for people of all ages, human and abnormal alike. She is kind, observant, and speaks her mind when she feels appropriate. Her voice is soft, as she always underestimates her inteligence. Her words become more jumbled the more stressed she is.

Likes
Gathering, Walking, Reading, Sleeping. Solving puzzles, fire.

Dislikes
Mosquitos, Highly concentrated alcoholic beverages, Long-distance running

Strengths
Good speed and reflexes, sensible, also being a medic she is skilled with her hands.

Weaknesses
Low stamina
Blood loss (abnormal ability)
Injured people
Accuracy-wise, could be better with most firearms. Although the only exception is a pistol.

History
Sera Lynnx was born to a family of 3. Her parents, Sean and Rachael Lynnx, found a home in a WG city and secured a modest but stable income as military office workers -- a friend of theirs had stacks of paperwork to process and he recommended the Lynnx's work to his co-workers, even to his superiors. The job was tedious, but it was a ray of hope for the family, having lost much in the aftermath of WW III.

Rachael read to Sera often, mainly consisting of stories about the heros in the WG military. Every night, Sera stayed up well past midnight, waiting for Mom's stories. Rachael did her best to clear time for Sera.

During school, Sera read alot, often times hanging out in the school library until the librarian had to close the facility.

When Sera was old enough, she applied to the military (to the minor dismay of Rachael), taking on the role of medic. At the time Sera was a perfectly normal human. She completed her training and education and served in the aftermath of skirmishes, though mainly she helped out a military hospital. Throughout the years, she had befriended many of the soldiers and their families. More than once had some of them requested her hand, much to her great embarassment.

At the age of 25, a large-scale battle broke out near the area she had been treating injured local inhabitants. Through her senior's radio, she overheard a gruff voice demanding all available support and personnel diverted to the current battle. By the sound of it, they were engaging a gang of abnorms who must have acquired dangerous weapons. At once, Sera volunteered. Grabbing as many supplies as she could fit into the vehicle given to her, she motored off to the front lines. As she drove through friendly territory, she tossed medipacks, bandaids, painkillers and cleansing agents to scurrying medics.

Helping as many as she could find, she left her jeep and went deeper into the epicenter of the fight. Doing so nearly costed her life, as she had to stretch her senses to the limit, avoiding enemy soldiers, enduring hazardous zones and maneuvering a destroyed environment.

Ordered to report to the Command Post, Sera stopped outside for a brief moment. She was about to open the flap when she overheard the same gruff, but angrier tone, voice ordering an execution on the Abnormal civilians. Stifling down the urge to scream, she entered the Command Post. The commanding officer interrogated her. He asked who she was, what she did, and why.

The tent was silent as Sera quietly answered the questions. The CO reprimanded her for her recklessness, but patted her on the back and said "Good job." She went home and told her parents, and they agreed that she should never work for the military again.

A few days passed where Sera settled at home and readjusted to civilian life. However it didn't last long. During one late night, Sera felt like making a small meal for Rachael, so she prepared the ingredients and was cutting some vegetables when she accidentally placed her finger too close to the blade. It left a deep cut, and it was painful, however it had stopped bleeding before Sera could find First-aid; the cut had vanished although she still felt a bit of pain on her finger. Surprised, she thought she was dreaming, but the pain was real. The next morning, she examined the finger again and massaged it. She didn't feel any more pain, but suddenly she felt something come apart. She peeled it off. Holding the skin up close to her eye, she noticed that it had the exact same color as her finger. Astonished, she mustered up the courage to cut herself again. Sure enough, the bleeding stopped, but this time Sera saw how some of the blood stuck to her finger and some sort of a band aid had been formed. Hardly believing her eyes, she nervously concluded she had become an abnormal. It explained the strange lines that suddenly appeared on her arms. Recalling how she had wrapped cloth around her arms, she assumed that if she didn't have the cloth, she may not have come home.

As loving parents, they looked past her new condition, and allowed her greater freedom from before.

Now Sera wanders around the world, seeing things she hasn't before and writing to her parents about such things. Now an abnormal, she seeks to better understand her new self.

Name: Patrick Oglethorpe (Mr O)

Age: 53 (Though he looks like he's in his mid thirties)

Gender: male

Abnormal? If so Power: Experiment # 0032:
Code name Faust
A mini computer was placed in his head at the top of his spinal cord. Code name Faust, named for the infamous alchemist who sold his soul to the devil for infinite knowledge. It allows him to control his bodies natural functions with extreme accuracy. This computer has the ability to force Patrick to "absorb" the data from all thirty one of the other experiments in case casualties are sustained by the unit.
Unique combat protocol
Biometirc boost: This protocol over-clocks all basic functions of the human body, increasing combat potential exponentially, however boosting for long periods of time or to far has a high probability of causing spontaneous combustion of all boosted tissue.

Experiment #0023
Code name Tepas
Code name Tepas, named for the infamous warlord nicknamed the Impaler. Further data corrupted
Unique combat protocol
Mind spike: This protocol allows for extensive mapping of specific neural sequences, direct contact with the temples of a hostile target allows for forced neural mapping. Use of this ability on the same target for longer the four seconds will cause chemical breakdown of the targets neurons. Death tends to follow after such an event.

Abnorm Type: Type 3

Abnorm Rank: B (while not boosted, a one hundred percent boost results in A level strength)

Appearance: Patrick is everything you'd expect a retired solider to look like, short cropped hair, clean shaven face, and a certain presence about him that feels like the calm before the storm. Which is only reinforced by intensely grey eyes. To make a long story short Patrick "Mr O" Oglethorpe looks every bit a man who is capable of quick and extreme violence.

Eye colour: Grey

Hair colour: brown/greying

Weight: 345

Height: 6'4

Body Modifications: A service tattoo from the us military

Other: Due to his ability to control his metabolic rate, he seems to be aging far slower than a normal person would. He's not entirely sure how he feels about this.

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Bodyguard for Keiji Shizu, Associate of the group he calls "The Wardens" The projections of Inir Grimlith. Various connections through out the underworld.

Personality: A serious and grim man, Patrick never smiles. In fact he has an almost permanent scowl, grumpy old man is an apt description for him.

Likes (at least 3): Black coffee, the kid (though he'd never admit it), boxing.

Dislikes (at least 3): Laziness, people who go back on they're word, and bad influences.

Strengths (Any): Extensive military training, and knowledge of combat tactics. As time goes by he has figured out ways to make certain changes to his bodies make up permanent.

Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): He can't use any of his abillties for very long without causing at least temporary damage to him self, and he can sometimes be over protective of his kids. Not to mention the addiction to cigarettes.

History: Patrick was born and raised in prewar America, his family only consisted of his mother as when she got pregnant his father had run off and her family disowned her. So his early was a little difficult, his mom was constantly working in order to make sure they had enough food on the table, and without the guiding hand of any parents young Patrick (who was a rather small for his age) was bullied and picked on. Naturally this kind of situation can be hard on a young kid, especially one without any guidance in how to deal with it. But Patrick's personality was shaped over these early years, he became stubborn and serious, he learned how to box by watching matches on television, and he was completely self sufficient. By the time he was a old enough to graduate everyone in the area new Patrick, and if they didn't like him, they certainly respected him.

After he graduated he went into the military, where he excelled and, eventually joined a special operations unit. During his service in the time before the great war he must have impressed someone with considerable political weight to throw around as he was soon chosen to take part in a experiment to create super soldiers. Months of gene therapy, and countless operations and tests later, he was ready. A soldier that could fight longer harder and with more efficiency than any normal human. Of course Patrick wasn't the only one involved in the experiments, but he was never allowed to meet any of the the other "supers" as the scientists were calling them. Everything about the experiments was as top secret as it could be, even from those conducting them.

January 7th, 2033. The day that changed everything, the hand fired, millions of people died and Patrick's unit of "supers" was cast aside in favor of the development of Americas own hand of god. What was left of the government decided that Patrick and the others were far to dangerous to just let walk around, so the order to terminate the project and everyone involved was handed down. Needless to say Patrick escaped, even to this day he's unsure if any of the others managed to do the same or if there ever was any others to begin with. He spent years on the run, even after the government he knew had collapsed with the rest of the world following soon after. Only stopping after the birth of Zach Merk and the coming of the abnorms. Of course he still kept his own augments a secret.

Patrick found work where he could over the years after the rise of the WG, odd jobs nothing to exciting, that is until he was hired by a group of butchers to retrieve some money that had been stolen from them by a few local con-men. It was supposed to be a simple job, find the thief's threaten them with some good old fashion violence, get the money back. What Patrick found was a blood bath, he guessed there must have been two people judging by the fact that he had found two right feet, but as to what had happened of who had done it he had no idea.

That's when he heard a noise in the back of the house, expecting to find the murderer, who he fully expected to be a very angry abnorm, he smashed through the separating door weapon drawn and ready to fight. Only to find a kid, huddled on the bed. What else could Patrick do? The kid, Keiji, has been with Patrick ever sense.

Name: Tela "Fashionista" Powers
Age:
17
Gender: Female
Abnormal? If so Power:
Fashion Forward:
Tela can control fabrics on her body. As long as it's touching her or her clothes, she can control it. So her longest thread is her strongest asset. This means she'll often unravel her clothes just to reach fabrics that are nearby to touch them and add them to her currently usable fabrics. Tela can alter her clothing on the spot; she never has to buy or acquire any new outfits! She can just turn her current one into whatever outfit she wants! How convenient! Okay, she still loves getting new outfits... With her fabric control, Tela can weave billowy parachute-like wings for herself. A newly discovered way to use her power, she's only barely started attempting to actually fly, and by no means has she mastered it yet!
Tensile Strength: Tela's clothing is reinforced beyond what it appears -yep, that means her current outfit is bulletproof! Still, different materials have their own different effects, so focusing them in different situations can be useful.
  • Cotton: Average clothing mat, provides no noticeable benefits. Easiest to manipulate.
  • Wool: Adds a bouncy effect, making some attacks or shots reflect.
  • Flax: Spreads out kinetic energy, making this a super good defensive option against super-powered punches and similar hits.
  • Silk: Weaker physical defensive option, but the best against elemental attacks.
  • Denim: Medium physical strength, medium speed it takes to manipulate, provides adequate defense against elemental, heaviest material.
  • Leather: Strongest physical defensive option, takes the longest to thoroughly manipulate.
  • Nylon: Quickest material for her to manipulate, but also the weakest, and prone to breaking.
Stitching: It is a mere bandaid, but Tela can use threading to stitch together wounds -hers or someone else's. As mentioned this isn't a fix for the wound, so it still needs to be looked at later.
Abnorm Type: 1
Abnorm Rank: B

Appearance: A slim, willowy young woman with a penchant for dressing in fancy get-ups. Her hair is one of her most noticeable features, as it is a distinct snowy-white, long and almost always kept it cutesy pigtails. Her other most defining feature is the fact she is often seen wearing fashionable outfits -or what she considers to be 'fashionable'.
Eye colour: Blue
Hair colour: White
Weight: 115 lbs
Height: 5'3''
Body Modifications: The One tattoo of an eye on her palm.
Other: Tela will often carry spools of threads to add to her reach. They're also of different materials, so she can best choose which is the most useful for her current situation.

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Apart of The One gang.

Personality:
Tela is as eccentric as Abnorms come, so navigating teen life is fairly challenging, but oh so fun! She adores fashion and people! Often trying her hardest to mix the two! Which often leads to misunderstandings and the people she's trying to have fun with being very irritated. In general, Tela lacks grace (despite her appearance), and tact. She often speaks her mind, and isn't afraid to just -throw herself out there in the name of fun (and fashion)! She prefers it when people are having fun, so she makes it her life's work to bring joy and smiles to others!

Likes (at least 3): When people are smiling. Playing. Friends. People. Fashion. Pretty things. Cute things. Making new 'artworks' with her fabric-control powers.
Dislikes (at least 3): Fighting in general. Evil, "bad" things. Upset people. Tears. Anger. Combative people. People who mistreat clothes. Rips and tears (when they aren't for fashion's sake). Uncoordinated outfits.
Strengths (Any): Her power to control her fabrics makes her a formidable opponent.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1):
  • Material Changing: It takes awhile for Tela to change her clothing's material out. It's also hard to know what's the best material to use for any given situation that rises out of the blue. With her spools she can do it on the fly, but it still takes some time, especially depending on which material it is. Then in the course of an actual battle, she can change out her materials real-time, too. But again, it's risky to do. Her foe isn't just going to stand there while she re-threads her entire outfit with the appropriate material, which just usually leaves her using a material not best suited for the situation.
  • Superior Will: Fashionista can control the fabric of her opponent, should she be able to touch it. However, if her foe's will is stronger than hers, she struggles to manipulate what someone else is wearing, if she can at all.
  • Passing Fad: As a lover of fashion and clothes, and other general girly things, Tela is often distracted by someone's outfits, or hell, a sale. Actually, she often will gush about her opponent's chosen outfit.
  • Beneath the Clothes: A weak teen girl lays beneath the clothes. Without her protective outfit, she's easily beatable.

History:
Tela is the oldest kid to Deacon and Olivia Powers. She learned of her powers quite a bit after her parents did, as a silly baby Tela would access her powers instinctively. Momma Powers was the first to find out their daughter had powers, when she grossly started messing with her diapers. Needless to say, a Momma Powers wasn't too thrilled to find her doofy baby daughter manipulating the diaper that was supposed to.. well you know what diapers are for. It began to be a constant hassle for the Powers parents to deal with their baby and then toddler daughter; she was always messing with her clothes, changing them, unraveling them, turning them into this or that. It was a circus, but was ultimately pretty fun for mom and dad Powers to see what their daughter would do next. As if they had glimpsed the future, Tela became very much obsessed with fashion. Always wanting to force her parents into new outfits, seeing what new cool things she can get them to wear. It's her favorite thing to do! Make new outfits and stuff for her parents! They always default to the same old ones though, hmph! Oh well, it's all fun for her, regardless! She's the fashionista of the family -which consequently became her nickname in The One gang when she joined it later in life. Which she ended up being coerced into, after being separated from her family when The One gang raided the town. They saw the young girl had an abnormality, and scooped her right up. She's been with them ever since, pretty obedient, as they promised to never hurt her family if she did as she was told.

Crowe.jpgName: Hector "Crow Storm" Mendez
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Abnormal? If so Power:
Living Shadow: Hector's shadow acts as an extension of his own body. It has the ability to be shaped, twisted, and used like a tool or weapon depending on Hector's desires. His shadow is able to interact with the world around him and is entirely corporeal (it can be touched and felt.) The shadow can add to its size and power by pulling in the shadows of other objects. The more shadows gathered the more powerful shadow constructs he can form.

Hector's Favorite Shadows:
  • Crow Storm: Hector breaks his shadow into a murder of crows (yes that's what a group of crows is called). They can relay information to him as well as swarm and peck to death anyone he doesn't like.
  • Shadow Colossus: Hector amasses his shadows into a ten foot tall giant. This form gives his shadows the ability to lift, move and throw massive objects that normally he couldn't interact with.
  • Shadow Claws: Hector amasses his shadow around his hands like monstrous claws that he uses to tear into people. Although this puts Hector in more danger the boy prefers these as he can alter his shadows better at a closer distance.
  • Shadow Vectors: Similar to his claws, Hector turns his shadow into extra arms sprouting from his back. These arms increase his mobility and defense, but lack true offensive strength unless wielding weapons.
Shadow Sutures: Hector can seal wounds and prevent blood loss using his shadow. This only works for himself and points out vulnerabilities where his skin suddenly becomes black and shows no texture.

Appearance: Hector is not a very imposing young man. Standing in at 5'7" and being of slim build, he lacks that "wow" factor that other survivors of this world have. He is almost always seen wearing winter clothes, no matter how warm it gets. Despite a certain someone's badgering about it not being "fashionable."
Eye colour: Brown
Hair colour: Brown
Weight: 142 pounds
Height: 5'7"
Body Modifications: An eye "tattoo" on his back.
Other: Crowe keeps a series of flash bang grenades with him at all times. This is used to supplement his powers at times where shadows aren't apparent.

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Has been a member of "The One" gang since he was seven.

Personality: Hector isn't exactly the most "likable" fellow. He's curt, get irritated quickly and ultimately thinks social interactions to be a nuisance. However, he's the most tolerant person imaginable. Despite how much he hates it or complains, he'll sit through an entire conversation he finds meaningless just because it makes the other person feel better. And a person that feels good is more useful to him than someone who's currently feeling like shit. He has a very crude mouth and often likes to start ruffle people's feathers because their reactions are entertaining. However, Hector is ultimately apathetic and doesn't feel for another's pain or suffering. He feels that the world is cruel and people either suck it up and carry on or wallow in their misery and die. There is no middle ground.

Likes (at least 3): Early morning, Late Evening, spying on people, torture, and seeing the world from the sky
Dislikes (at least 3): Midnight and Noon, People trying to get close, overly hopeful people and Alcohol.
Strengths (Any): Hector's power makes him a versatile fighter having decent ranges of effectiveness, and both offensive and defensive capabilities.
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1):
  • It's Dark Outside: You'd think Hector's power would be strongest at night when everything is dark right? Wrong. There are no distinctions in shadows when there is no light so it becomes impossible to control and manipulate a shadow that covers half the planet. Thus why he carries flashbangs. The immense bright light defines the shadows, if only briefly, but gives him enough time to form his constructs.
  • Midday's sun: High noon also poses a problem for Hector. His shadow is small at this point and very hard to stretch and morph to fit his needs. He has to gather a large number of shadows to get his normal use of powers.
  • The Shadow's Will: Taking control of a human shadow is nigh impossible. They are still a part of a person and bound to their will, it won't act out against its original owner's desire.
  • Shadow's Bond: Hector's shadows are an extension of his body. When using crow storm, if one of the crows is injured he feels the pain and that individual shadow returns to its source.

History:
Hector Mendez was one twin born to Maria and Emencio Valdez. His twin brother Jason was born thirty seconds after, but the pair seemed to not get along from birth. When they were brought near one another they would cry, scream, and kick at each other as if the other was a harm to their body. Little did the parents know that their bundles of joy actually DID have a problem with one another. At the age of five, both Hector and Jason's abnormalities became apparent. Jason had started picking a fight with Hector over something stupid, as usual. Hector lost his cool and his shadow wound up dangling Jason in mid-air by his ankle. Hector found this amusing until Jason's eyes shone as brilliantly like a pair of suns. The extreme light, completely eradicating Hector's shadow causing them both to scream out in agony. Hector from the damage to his shadow and Jason from falling to the ground. It was deemed best by their parents that the pair be separated from one another. However, two years later, fate would force them back together. With the arrival of "The One" both Hector and Jason were recruited as the pair had each developed their ability. Hector now could turn his shadow into a murder of crows and Jason could shoot concentrated beams of light from his eyes. The pair immediately started bickering upon their reuniting. Deciding that the infighting would be a problem their "boss" decided to have the pair fight one another to see who could remain. Hector and Jason's battle lasted for hours until Hector finally got Jason by the throat with his shadow, forcing his brother to look to the sky. It was then Hector's "honor" to decide what to do with his brother. And Hector, realizing that the gang loved cruel and unusual techniques, gouged at his brother's eyes with his crows, before leaving him in the middle of the arena. This is what made Hector, at seven years old, a terror in the eyes of anyone suspected of being a traitor. If he'd done that to his own brother, what would he do to someone that betrayed him? However, Hector's role as interrogator later became replaced with "babysitter." If one could call it that. He was stuck watching over Fashionista as nobody else could put up with her personality. He's just kind of put up with her because as long as she's happy, she's obedient to "The One."

"Yea, so I'm a monster? So what? At least I'm not as evil as you."

Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Eyecolor: Blue
Hair color: Blonde
Weight: 136lbs
Height: 5’5
Likes: Cute animals, Cute kids, Alcohol, Learning mechanics and carpentry (just how to make things)
Dislikes: Almost all guys, Being called cute, Being treated like a weakling, Bullies

Premonition: The power to touch a non living object and see it’s past, present and future. Where it came from, how it was made and what its purpose is. When she is weak she cannot control her power and is unable to function since if even her feet touch the ground she will be locked into a premonition of the stones beneath her. In these cases she relies on her Group to carry her since her powers do not work on living things.

Recreation: After she has touched something and seen its past, present and future, she will be able to fix the broken into its complete and finished form. The item can be used for one minute or three times before reverting back to its original state. She cannot create anything living. She carries around a small pouch full of little broken pieces of weapons so she can recreate them in battle.

Weaknesses:
If she recreates too many objects at one time then she becomes drained. When drained she cannot control her power of premonition and is locked into a comatose like state since whenever she is having a vision she cannot move, see or hear.

Personality:
She is a rough and tough tom boy who doesn’t give a frickle frack about looking or acting like a lady. Her one girly tendency though is falling in love with cute girls since when her family left they took her younger sister with them. She misses the adorable cute little girl and treats all cute little girls like her missing sister. But the last boy who flirted with her was kicked where the sun don’t shine. She is a survivor. She isn’t here to mess around.

Bio:
When the new world came to an end and the Abnorms appeared, Delia was born. Her family were WG supporters and lived in a safe settlement under complete control of the WG. As a baby her powers were not noticed by her abnorm hating parents for her only gift she could access at that age was her power of premonition. And even then her visions were few and far between since she did not have much strength as an infant. When she was five, Delia began to understand what was happening when she touched objects in her home and see their past and future. Keeping it hidden though, Delia managed to hide or stumble blindly away from people whenever her abnormality appeared. She knew what her parents thought of abnorms and had been taught to see them as horrible creatures. Delia tried to be the perfect daughter for her parents from a young age in order to ease her guilt at being born a monster.

When her sister was born, Delia took care of her while her parents tried to farm the horrible dry lands. She loved how sweet and innocent her sister was but secretly she spent all of her time with her to see if she would develop an abnormality as well. Delia was torn between wanting someone to share her secret with and hoping her sister wouldn’t become a monster like herself. But her sister showed no signs of being an Abnorm and so Delia lived alone with her burden.

One fateful day, at the age of nine, her parents finally witnessed her eyes turn white as she had a vision. Since she repressed her power so much, Delia had little control over when she had her visions. For hours they argued and cried, locking Delia in her room. They loved their daughter but hated what she was and feared that she would hurt their youngest child… Finally her mother and father agreed it was kinder to just leave her somewhere than to hand her over to the WG. Coming into her room, they packed up her things and took their wagon to a further settlement on the outskirts of the WG controlled territory. This part of the land was said to be rampant with Abnorms. Her parents were ignorant and foolish, believing the monsters would take care of one of their own. Leaving her with some water and a meager amount of food in a small abandoned shack, they told her never to seek them or her younger sister. For even though they did not wish for her death, she was a monster.

Alone and afraid for a week in her "home" she finally had to leave to town, hoping to find supplies. All she found though… was a huge abnorm loner. She escaped his claws when he turned into a giant bear and fled to a store. Under duress, Delia didn’t have control over her power and a vision sprang unwanted into her head when her hand touched a broken knife. She saw the metal in the rock, she felt it burn as it was melted into its shape and the feel of the plastic case wrapping around it. And then she saw someone running from the Man she was now trying to escape, saw the knife break under the beasts paw as it chased after them. When her vision cleared, and her eyes retained their color she gasped for air.

Delia did not have long to think for the Bear came crashing into the store through the display window. She looked around, trying to find something to protect herself, desperate for anything. Delia had never been filled with such a need to create something to protect herself before. When her hand grasped at the broken piece of knife, her second power appeared for the first time. The piece of plastic handle casing glowed in her hand as the knife she had seen in her vision, suddenly appeared. Holding it high above her head, the Bear launched at her, impaling itself. Not dead yet, Delia jabbed it up, stabbing the beast in its neck over and over, before the knife reverted back into its broken form.

Delia could not lift the beast off of her for the energy it took to use her powers so suddenly… and was trapped for hours before anyone discovered her. The group was made up of all humans, who thought she was a normal girl who had been attacked by the abnorm. She let them assume so and left with the group of nomadic humans traveling from town to town, selling tools and weapons they found on their travels. It was a good way for her to practice controlling her abnormality with all the broken weapons her group discovered. She has had a decent life so far, but still her inner turmoil over what she is prevents her from truly being happy.

Name: Kore (pronounced Korey) Dair
Name extra: Kore is derived from the Greek "κόρη", meaning maiden, and is another name given to Persephone, Greek goddess of spring and queen of the underworld. "Dair" is oak in Irish - so her name means "Oak Maiden".
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual, Polyamorous.

Power:
Kore is primarily able to control, grow and manipulate plants with almost frightening speed, power and accuracy. Generally, her imagination is the limit on her power, and the basic manipulation of plants has no effect on her or her energy levels - meaning she can use this ability as much as she wants.
Despite how powerful she seems to be, she is still becoming stronger everyday; so take her "imagination" with a pinch of salt. She's constantly using her power and pushing the boundaries, meaning her power grows at a steady (if somewhat slower now than it used to be) pace.

She is also able to communicate with plants - not in any conventional way, nor in any way that can really be explained (she can't even explain it properly), as trees and plants cannot speak and they aren't conscious or sentient in the way the words are generally perceived. But nevertheless she speaks to plants - and her power is able to translate all they tell her into words, and her own words into their words.

However, her power also gives her another ability - she is able to give energy to and take energy away from flora, which effectively means she can increase her own energy and abilities by taking energy away from plants, and vice versa. Very rarely will she take energy from plants (it makes her very uncomfortable, as she's effectively hurting her family) - unless she's very, very desperate and they offer it, but she will often sap her own energy to help dying or weak plants.
Her powers are strongest with trees and plants with bark, such as woody vines, and shrubs, however by now there isn't a noticeable difference in what she's better or worse at controlling.

Abnorm Type: 1
Abnorm Rank: A

Appearance:
Years living rough have given her a very rugged look - what little she owns was found by her, and she doesn't carry much on her - preferring to scavenge what she doesn't carry in her small bag. She always maintains a very good level of hygiene, her clothing and person always clean and well groomed - she likes to keep her silvery-grey hair up, it's almost always in a bun. She wears very modest clothing - always covering her arms, upper chest and legs as much as she can, even if it's really warm.
She has finally settled down in a more permanent living space that she made herself, before joining her current group of misfits and leaving everything she made for herself behind (if only temporarily (or so she thinks)). She's very fit and relatively strong physically (not that she needs to be), but she is underweight and skinny due to her vegetarian diet and nomadic way of life.
In short, she appears to be skinny and fragile - but is much stronger than she looks, and this fragility is more a false pretence than anything, unless it has been a particularly harsh winter.

Eye colour: Various greens
Hair colour: White/ grey/ silver
Weight: 55kg (Her weight fluctuates from season to season; she's heaviest in the summer and lightest in the winter)
Height: 5'11"
Body Modifications: None
Other: A large scar across her cheek, that extends behind her ear and up her head - thankfully, most of it is hidden by her hair. This is only a sneak peak - as the rest of her body is also covered in these odd scars, all look similar in nature - and are over her whole body. She tries to cover them up as much as she can, but scars on her neck, hands, wrists, ankles and of course face are often visible.

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: Before her current group, she never stayed in any one group for long, and always kept herself very distant from people - which she still does out of force of habit.

Personality:
Kore was kind and gentle, and naturally has a soft demeanour that has hardened over the years, meaning that the innocent child she was before is unrecognisable from the sarcastic, distant and cold woman she has become. She has always been wise beyond her years, which she attributes to her upbringing by trees.
She isn't naturally paranoid, but being a rank A has made her very nervous around people, and she likes to avoid society like the plague, observing from a distance until she knows it is safe to approach, and she will only enter populated areas if she needs to. She uses the trees and the plants as her eyes and ears, ready to flee with a seconds notice.
Considering her supposed natural kindness, it's odd that she has a deep rooted rage and hatred towards humans, and although she dislikes killing animals - she is much less bothered about killing people. As much as she denies it, she enjoys watching humans suffer by her hands and powers, she used to bury her sadistic and cruel side deep down; although it did rear its ugly head now and again. She didn't know why she felt that way, nor why her unnatural paranoia (different to the paranoia she gained from being a rank A, this is deep rooted like her rage), is completely centred around people. She deduced that it must be because of what happened to her when she was little, memories that were blocked but that she is slowly regaining, creating a unique problem...
As she regains her memories, it becomes apparent that Kore has two distinct personalities. Both have similarities, the nicer, more emotional and empathetic woman who met everyone and battled alongside them in Svitch hid her darker, crueller alter ego for over a decade. With the patchy and slow return of some of her memories, the kinder soul was taken over by the wicked soul, who was more able to cope with everything - after all she was created from those very memories.

Likes: Nature, fruit, animals, spring, and plants - especially oak trees.
Dislikes: Not having enough to eat, people, killing animals.
Strengths: She has an acute and very strong hold on her powers, she is physically fit and relatively strong.
Weaknesses: She is very affected by plants and animals being killed or harmed for no reason, and will often put herself in danger to try and heal what she can - whether using her powers on plants or her knowledge of healing on animals. Very rarely will she take energy from plants - which often puts her at a major disadvantage. Especially considering she's anaemic, which is an almost constant sap of her energy. She also eats meat as little as she possibly can - which adds to her problems if she cannot find enough to eat - both physically, as she considers eating meat a last resort, and mentally, as killing and eating animals affects her greatly, she hates doing it and loathes peoples disregard for them.

History:
Kore cannot remember anything of her life before her 10th birthday. She awoke to the gentle hold of an ancient oak, asking her "Child, are you alright?". She was covered from head to toe in blood and tiny flecks of hard, white matter. She did not know how she knew her name when she recited it to the oak, nor how she knew it was her 6th birthday. She remembered nothing of her parents, where she had come from, or how she was covered in blood and, as the oak told her, bone. She was also covered in scars, old and new, and fresh wounds - bruises, and a broken wrist. The oak taught her many things in those 2 weeks, how to fix her wrist, how to eat and live. She wished she could stay. But when the thunder started in the clear blue sky, something she instinctively labelled at helicopters. Her fear blossomed, and she ran, the grass below her feet pushing her along, the branches at her side pulling her along faster as she sobbed breathlessly, still stumbling along hours after the sound was too faint to hear. The instinctual fear throbbed in her chest, still as strong as it had been when she first heard those people, she did not know who they were, but she knew she had to be afraid, very very afraid.
It was still as strong when she finally collapsed, the ivy holding her already failed legs up buckled as she lost consciousness.
She lived out her life, moving almost constantly as she went from place to place - scavenging what she couldn't find or forage, stealing as a last resort. Never did she join society, or seek out her own kind (her own kind being people, as she had no differentiation between them and abnorms like herself until much later).
Until they came for her. As she grew, as her power grew faster and faster, they hunted her more vigorously, and she learned from them too. She learnt that she wasn't a "human" like them, and she learnt of her hatred for them, singing in harmony with her terror. The hunters, they called her many things - Rank A, Subject 216, Abnormal, Devil child. Some called her nothing, said nothing - and she learnt that these were the most dangerous, the ones who had done this so many times before that they didn't even bother to give her a title. Granted, she had killed every single hunter that had seen her or come too close, but they gave her no choice. At least, that is what she told herself.
Only one group managed to capture her, when she was 14 years of age, it was a beautiful hot summers day, and she had been bathing in the river. There was no wind, she got out too slowly, they were the silent ones.
They didn't last very long. Even though she wanted to ignore it, pretend it wasn't there, but the involuntary smile curling on her face was there as she stood over their bodies. She learnt many things that day.

Eventually, Kore settled down, her new home an ancient, Giant Sequoia tree - located in a huge, incredibly remote forest - it was very rare that anyone came anywhere near her. The forest was bountiful and vast, which gave her plenty of space to roam, forage and grow food - she started a farm of sorts to give her some dietary security during the winter. She was also near 2 great rivers, and only a very short walk from a bubbling, crystal clear spring where she got her drinking water. Even though it gets very cold in the winter, she now has a roof over her head and a stone fireplace which keeps the cold out.
Her home was a tree house, located extremely high up in her Sequoia tree, and only really accessible through her powers, as there was no ladder or staircase. The tree house was made from her powers also, and wraped around her Sequoia mainly, but also branches out to 2 neighbouring trees - giving her lots of room. Compared to how she was living before, she was in the lap of luxury.

Of course, it didn't last. She has now temporarily left her home to stay with what she considers a group of misfits - some of whom she unwittingly became fond of - Vira especially. Despite the woman's rudeness Kore feels compelled to follow her.

He can lift his arm and rotate it normally, but to bend his elbow he must push up his diaphram, and to bend his fingers his must bend his toes. The movements in his fingers are all or nothing, but while janky, the movement of his elbow can be controlled with a small amount of dexterity.

Previous affiliations: Not really, no.

Personality: He is cautious, but friendly if he doesn't see you as threatening. He can be a bit of a pragmatist at times. He is generally honest, but no one is perfect. Dying
Unpredictable elements
Bitter foods

Strengths (Any):
He has enough knowledge not to die from eating something bad
Enough street smarts not to get in trouble,

Good enough marksmanship to not be guaranteed to be torn to peaces by any abnorm with a god complex that decides they don't like him
At least he believes he's got enough luck to make it through.

Weaknesses (Must have at least 1):
He's only human, completely worthless to 80% of the people that matter.
He's overcautious, sometimes taking more time than he needs, or offending people unnecessarily.
He's easily cowed.
He doesn't have a lot of dexterity in his left arm, and his ability to grasp thing sometimes causes him to fumble.
He feels like he's got a knack for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

History:
He grew up in a rural farming town called Hensonville, under the "protection" of some unnoteworthy abnorm gang called "The Big Fishers." The town gave them most of their surplus of food, and the gang protected them from outside threats like marauders.

His family, like most families, dreamed of moving to Freefall city. They always just needed a little more supplies, or for the roads to get less dangerous, it was across the country after all.

The town managed too hold onto its cohesion during the great war due to very lucky placement. The shut down of the grid led to general chaos, but it was small enough that the mayor managed to hold things together, emphasizing the importance of community in such harsh times, and pointing out the ties everyone had.

As heartwarming as that story was, the town still struggled a lot being completely cut off. The farmers tractors didn't work, very few people had lighting at night, and without air conditioning the hot humid summers and the snowy winters were becoming a problem. Food storage would've been an issue were it not for an old lady who remembered her mother telling her how they used to make preserves with jars and woodstove ovens. The winters were harsh, but the people survived.

About 15 years later they encountered another major problem on their growing list, a group of marauders came in and attacked the people of Hensonville, slaughtering and looting dozens of the population numbering the hundred before one of them got an idea. The Big Fisher gang told them that this is just a warning, and if they don't want to be completely destroyed, they had to pay them tithes.

The gang didn't get much out of the people at first, but they saw a noticeable increase after a few years. This of course followed after donating an old history book of ancient farming techniques.

The town had seeds for two crops somewhere in its "long" history. Peanuts and Cucumbers. It would've actually made quite a bit of money off of it if the gang hadn't been siphoning off of it. But it was a necessary evil, because even if the gang would leave them alone, a bunch of humans can't do much especially without the guns and superpowers of the gang.

The gang however, grew rather nicely over the course of several decades, until the WG started to take interest in their widening sphere of influence. They were very low priority, as they had a country full of Abnorms to exterminate, but merely being put on the list started to garner interest.

Enter Brian, one of the few children born in the early part of the cities development. He was named after the mayor at the time. He grew up throughout all the major changes in the city, his parents were starting to get into the rhythm of the new world after 8 years, but the shock of never going back to how the world was was a concept permeating the collective consciousness.

Brian got to watch the town slowly move from a rural farming town dependent on outside influence for everything, to a town malnourished and sick of cucumbers and peanuts, but a much more well organized town for surviving the harshness of the New World.

As Brian grew up, his head was filled with all the wondrous ideas of what its like in the city so far away. That there you could eat anything you wanted, and you could work as an engineer or a doctor, and they didn't treat you like dirt just because they could.

Fast forward 15 years, Brian was then 19 years old, working on the farm with his dad, who was showing him how to hunt. A task made much more difficult by the things hunting you, and the things that can eat you. He learned how to deal with Abnorm behavior, how to kill or at least escape from wild beasts who may or may not destroy you with a thought.

Brian learned 4 things: How to shoot a gun, even if its made of old sewage pipes and half garbage.
That a hunk of lead (or other metals if your feeling creative) travelling at mach one into something's brain are incredibly dangerous and lethal (to both parties if your not careful).
That things as strong as reality benders will go down if they don't know your there and they take a bullet to the brain.
That sometimes things don't die if you shoot them, but 9/10 it will slow them down.

It is around this time, unbeknownst to the denizens of Hensonville, the WG puts The Big Fishers on a watchlist. This got the gang in a lot of attention from other nearby gangs, (not to mention bounty hunters). The resulting gang feuds put a much harsher tax on the people of Hensonville, practically starving them, but the people of Hensonville grew to like the distorted relationship enough to not be especially bitter about it, and were even a little hopeful The Big Fishers would pull through for them. This however was not the case.

The gang fought long and hard with other nearby gangs, for about 6 years to be exact, slowly shrinking in territory until Hensonville was the next high priorty target, a large source of income for the gang. The gang tried defending them, but didn't expect the level of force to be leveled against them. A tactical force of 1 C 1 B, 2 A, and 1 S class Abnorms all baring different tattoos prepared to single handedly take the position. The fisher group was one of the more well armed and wealthy gangs in the area, and it was decided that the threat to the balance of power wasn't appreciated.

Needless to say the small armada of The Big Fishers were completely wiped out. But not without some losses from the attacking side. This was partly due in fact by the synergies developed in the Abnorms in the Fisher Gang, which made them more powerful than expected for the small task force. While some of the Abnorms in the Fisher Gang were mere E's, in combination with the others present they managed to hold their own in a bloody battle. It was short, but intense enough to deplete over half the task force. Another Major contributing factor was the task force's complete underestimation of the townsfolk's participation, who were shooting potshots off building at the targets.

The task force comprised of the B and C Classes backing up the 3 elites by using their abilities to massively increase the speed and processing power of the S and A classes. The B class adding a constant 10m/s to the speed of everything it willed in a radius. So if you through a punch it was 10m/s faster, or if you were walking you'd walk 10m/s faster etc. (10 m/s is approximately 22 mph) and the C class connecting their minds allowing them to compute information as if they were in a singular mind. This allowed the 2 A class's, who's powers manifested in sheer destructive power, to avoid taking deadly shots from the gang members while they tore through their militia. One A class shot destructive invisible beams of energy. The other caused massive explosions of air to come out of his fists, accelerating whatever they punched often turning it into shrapnel with flak cannon like effects. The S class was a monster, 15 feet tall, sharp bones sticking out at odd angels, bare muscles pulsing slowly, making a sickening thumping sound, barely recognizable as anything that could even resemble a humanoid. Its ability somehow involved it disappearing and one by one, in rapid succession, one could see was nothing but a puddle of blood on the ground where people use to be. The armada might even have won if it weren't for that creature. The actual details of the battle follow.

During the fight, the makeshift militia landed a lucky potshot, and killed the C class hitting him in the top of the head with a high powered rifle using manually added powder. Much like old muskets these rifles had very little accuracy, but the large amount of powder and the rough mass of the ammunition caused it have much more force behind it exerted over a larger area. This left a gaping nothing where the head once was.

The lack of coordination caused the B class to get torn to shreds from the shrapnel of an attack on a member of the Fisher gang who was sneaking up behind the A class who specialized more close range. The other A class had been slowly turning the town and the army into literal vapors took a shot in the lungs, he gasped for air trying not to go into shock from the wound as he vaporized half of the remaining armada before collapsing. It was at this point the army began to route, there were loud screams as the towns people began to flee with the remaining members of the fisher gang. And then suddenly the town grew silent as a final blood splatter materialized over where the last member used to be. The monster then appeared before the remaining A class. The A class took his fleshy hand and they walked out of the town grimly mourning their fallen comrades.

Brian, was one of the few survivors of the attack, getting cold feet at the beginning of the attack, he immediately began to run for the nearby woods. Throwing his 'gun' behind him as he heard the screams of his neighbors. He ran for what couldn't of been more than a minute before he felt a sudden lightness in his left side, followed by intense pain, he immediately collapsed, unconscious.
When Brian woke up he was a little bit in shock. His right arm was gone. Not cut off but completely gone, just like everything to the left of him. A massive crater settled in next him with filled with small multi colored rocks, but most the unmistakable black flaky color of carbon. It stretched on for a little more than the length of the town. He wandered around the remains of his town, not fully taking in the sensory buffet before him. The first thing that does register is the smell of death and burnt flesh. This was followed by the sensation of a slightly warm liquid soaking in through his shoe. He retches at the smell, and takes a step back, falling into the crater and onto his back, trying to catch himself with his left arm, but failing. The landing on the rocks was painful but did little more than tear at the outer layer of skin through his clothes. He layed there for a while, the stench not seeming to reach him here, and just trying to slow his breath and figure out what just happened.

After about an hour, he finally relaxes some, realizes the danger he's in and climbs out of the pit, using his new cauterized stub as a lever as he pulls himself out. He begins immediately, creeping towards the forest not knowing what is really going on when he realizing the existence of the permeating silence around him. He tries not think about what he's lost without success. He runs through the scattered remains of the town, jumping over craters looking for signs of life besides himself, covering his mouth and nose with his shirt, calling out for his parents first, then his friends, then acquaintances, then for anybody. He realizes he's alone here. He thinks maybe they escaped, but that wishful thinking only went so far. The experience was still too much for him to process, so he was able to choke his tears down and think to himself, drawing away from his surrounding and sitting in a chair inside half of what remained of an old friends house, half the oak table, having fallen into the nearby crater.

He needed to get out of here before whoever came here, came back. Maybe he should go deeper inside the Fisher Gangs Territory... As appealing as that thought was, he decided that he would be left in the same situation and that it wouldn't be worth it. He sat their shaking his leg up and down thinking about what he should do, suppressing a panic attack right beneath the surface. No one would hire him with his arm like this. No one, would want that burden... Except... Except maybe Freefall city! They take all kinds there, and he'd become an engineer and... Who's he kidding. How's a one armed man, with nothing supposed to travel across the country by himself without dying. He'd die of starvation first! Let alone what god forsaken hell beasts are out there.

Wait, speaking of hell beasts, wasn't there a guy with weird glowy tattoos saying he was hunting devils for money or something when he caught some of the Fisher gang members. That might be my chance, maybe they'll take in one of the weirder looking abnorms and give me enough money to get to Freefall!

He opened the front door and went out into the battlefield, trying his best not to look at the few people with faces still intact. He ran straight forward into where they start the assault. Something in him told him to turn around, but he new he had to take this chance. He saw one of them, a large burn scarscovered their left arm. They were rather adrogynous, but even still the creature filled him with dread. As if it would come alive any moment and tear him to pieces.

He decided that this was as good an Abnorm as any. and started dragging it along towards, the horse stable he was hoping was untouched. Looking up as to not see the source of the awful stench he was smelling, he kept trying to reassure himself, maybe its a dream, maybe these are just gang members and they let them all escape, maybe... They didn't all make sense, but he needed something to get him out of here. The stable turned out to replaced by a crater. He swore, looking down his sore arm at the lifeless body. There was no way he was going to drag this all the way along the river to the WG outpost to the west. He sat down again, swearing to himself, when something else sparked in his brain, that it was downriver. He could just use the raft the Fisher Gang used for trading with the settlement down river, he couldn't get back up with it without the Abnorm abilities they used, but he wouldn't need to.

And after much misadventuring over the course of a month involving dealing with the awful stench, hiding from rival gangs downriver, emotional trauma, and half starving to death, he finally stumbles into WG outpost, the body in tow. "...Please." He begged to the bureaucrats deep inside, distracted by his growling stomach and sore arm. "I got one... an Abnorm... will you help me." The bureaucrat smirked, "Well he's dead, so your missing the big deals, but after we get him processed, I'll tell you how much he's worth. In the mean time, I'm a nice guy, why don't you have something to eat, on me. Wouldn't want you to die before you could give a description to the higher ups, now would we?"

Brian made a deal with the WG in exchange for the corpse of the dead A class. He was given a prosthetic arm, nothing incredibly fancy, but still costing a fortune by anyone's standards and enough money for him to get to the next town over without dying. And that begins his two year journey North East to where we are now.

Brian has obtained a small arsenal of weapons in his travels, most looted off of dead travelers, but some bought with hard earned money traveling across the country, including 3 sticks of 'dynamite', which are closer to a pipe bomb (surprisingly easy to come by as its just gone powder in a tube with a fuse, not saying they're everywhere but sometimes you get lucky), his old shotgun made out of sewage pipes, the gun powder is added manually and it shoots out most powder-less bullets he can fit in the tube, he's got enough gunpowder for maybe 20 shots depending on their power a revolver with 22 rounds of ammunition, with 6 in the chamber, and the rarest thing he found, a functioning assault rife with 3 magazines of ammunition, but only one magazine that fits.

Brian is within the last 100 miles of his journey, he's low on supplies, and recently lost his most recent traveling companion to cancer.

(I apologize if this post causes any narrative issues or inconsistencies, or has too much stuff, please let me know if it did and I will fix it. If I do get into the rp, I'm not 100% sure where I would be in the world, since I would like to be interacting with at least one other character going in, any help would be appreciated. I also apologize if the writing isn't the best, I may have written a little bit stream of consciousness style for a bit.)

Name: Kale
Age: 17
Gender: Androgynous
Abnormal? If so Power:
"Child of the Forest"

  • Survival of the Fittest: Kale can develop aspects and traits of forest animals in order to adapt to ensure survival, or if the situation calls for adjustment. Fur during cold weather, flatter teeth when eating vegetation, sharper teeth when eating meat, large beautiful feathers when putting on a show against a rival, camouflage when hiding from a predator, you get the idea. The animals of the forest are their outfit.
  • Force of Nature: During times when Kale feels threatened or is hostile their body undergoes a drastic change. Their horns become more prominent, their teeth and nails get sharper, their skin gets tougher, and short sharp spines grow out of their body along their face, arms, and back. Their strength during this time could be equated to a grizzly bear and their durability and ferocity to that of a honey badger. In addition, their saliva becomes a deadly toxin that can cause fatigue within moments of entering the bloodstream, and paralysis after several hours. They become faster, stronger, tougher, and overall better at fighting and hunting. Plainly put, they become a predator.

Abnorm Type: 1
Abnorm Rank: B

Appearance: Slender, very soft features and smooth clear green skin.
Eye colour: Green
Hair colour: Brown
Weight: 50 kilograms or 110 lbs
Height: 5'5"
Body Modifications: None

Previous affiliations - any present DW affiliations for your character?: None

Personality: Kale is a very innocent and kind spirit. Simple minded yet full of complexity, they are a true child of nature. Kale is a primal person with almost no disposition towards social cues, rules, or norms. Their is nothing but honesty and straight forwardness with Kale. Shameless wouldn't be the best word for it. Kale simply doesn't know any better and doesn't feel awkward about stating things. They are socially aloof as a result of their negative dealings with humans and other abnorms. They are not bitter about their bad experiences with people but it has made it hard for Kale to build healthy relationships with others like a normal person would. Mischief and fun is always on their mind, even though their demeanor can be seen as harmonious and calm most of the time. If there is no play involved then what's the point of doing something? They are clever and have a knack for thinking outside the box. But when it is time to get serious Kale can get out of hand. Their temper and intensity is as wild as nature itself towards anyone that Kale sees as a threat to themselves, nature, or those they consider a friend. A simple, young, innocent soul would be the best way to summarize them.

Likes (at least 3): Frogs, plants, green things, pranks, squishy stuff, vegetables, fruits, eating, nature, bitter green vegetation, growing plants, gardening, dirt, eating soil, tigers, crocodiles, meat, books, reading
Dislikes (at least 3): Fire, mean people, loud noises, being restrained, people, prolonged exposure to strong sunlight
Strengths (Any): physically durable, clever, high threshold for pain, very flexible and athletic, they can use their powers very effectively
Weaknesses (Must have at least 1): Kale has a fear of large fires and sparks. Being in the sun for too long will cause Kale to obtain very bad sunburn.

History: Kale was born female to a single mother in Virginia in a neighborhood that despised abnorms, hidden away due to their physiological abnormality. More specifically, their horns and green skin. For the first four years of their life Kale spent their time playing, learning, and doing everything indoors. They showed signs of their powers on their third birthday by growing feathers on their head in an attempt to mimic their mother's red hair. From then on their powers adapted and grew along with their experiences. During baths Kale would form gills so they could play underwater longer. When playing hide and seek Kale's skin and hair would change color to match their surroundings better. Eventually, against their mother's wishes, Kale snuck outside to play, feeling a powerful draw to the nature they saw but never had the chance to interact with. Every night for a year Kale would sneak out, using their abnormality to make virtually no noise as they did so.

On the morning of their fifth birthday Kale's mother was killed during a struggle when a local BH tried capturing and killing Kale. The child's body underwent it's first change upon witnessing the man attacking their mother. Even though they were too late, Kale was able to mortally wound the BH with a well placed bite to the neck. The child hid inside the house once more people arrived after hearing the ruckus. Out of fear and anger the small crowd set the house ablaze with Kale inside. Kale narrowly escape the inferno and evaded the search that went on for them, leaving behind the place they once called home.

The years after the loss of their mother were spent traveling alone and making very little contact with other people. Those they did interact with either wanted them dead, captured, or were nice enough to let Kale explore the area without being bothered. Because of their unique abnormality Kale had been in many fights and many chases when they had the unfortunate luck of running into less than friendly people. Their powers grew more and more as they experienced new challenges, situations, and fights. In one such unfortunate event, Kale was captured and forced to fight in a metal caged arena. They learned the hard way then that only the strongest survived, and so despite all the crazy conditions and situations they put Kale in the young abnorm was able to learn to adapt effectively to ensure victory. After spending two years as a cage fighter Kale developed the skill and power needed to escape their bondage. A part of them was grateful for the strength they developed from the ordeal, but an untrusting pain remained in their heart from then on.

Personality: A calm analytical man who you wouldn't find chasing down something he didn't at least think he had a chance with.

Likes (at least 3): Dogs, Stories of the old world, kind people, puns...(Your warning is now. Prepare for the pun attempts even horrible ones.)
Dislikes (at least 3): Jerks. People who hate animals. Violence with no reason. People who hate puns...

Can damage himself with recoil with terribly drastic use of his ability.
He doesn't quite realize his strength during a true combat experience.

History: After growing up an uneventful life for a good week it was easy to notice this kid was not a normal person. Things would randomly fall over. People would swear they felt tugging on their shirts when watching the little munchkin alone. And lastly whenever he started to cry. Small things like crumbs or rubbles would fling around slightly. Though that was all Childs play compared to what he noticed he could do when he was finally old enough to start having common sense.

Upon reaching an age of being able to reason, his parents decided to start working through the idea of having him hide his abilities during the time he spent out in the world. Being able to almost perfectly blend in during the time he was out in the public. The repression of his abilities led to him always seeming slightly restless to the eyes of a normal person as he walked around. Along with how the wind seemed to perfectly shift around him to avoid sand and the like being the only indication something might be different. At the age of thirteen or so something happened...As he was finally developing into a young man, his powers truly woke up. Being nearly impossible to ignore for a few good years. Driving to having him being kicked out of his town due to many rumors and the like driven by fear. His parting gift from his parents being a jacket of sorts...one that's mostly grey with age and being worn out.

Having been forced from his home he struggled to make by, eventually though he stumbled along a hunter...the only chance he had to escape was to almost kill or incapacitate him. Something he did on instinct more than desire, leaving to his identity being known along with his ranking...Leaving him to be hunted for many years along with having to hide out and for the most part avoid towns and by instinct most small groups of three or so people.

Luciellia's mother died during childbirth, so she grew up without a mother figure, which pretty well explains her lack of emotional skills and reguard for anyone's feelings. Her father, Rogan Scott, had always been a very coarse man. He believed firmly in the idea that the Abnorms were spawn of the devil, and that they should be eliminated. Now, Lucy never really bought into any of that religion stuff, but being brought up that way, she learned to hate the Abnorms. Her father trained him for her entire life, she became a pro in hand to hand combat, and with swords especially. Shortly after her 15th birthday, he died, which left her to get own devices. She basically lived in various abandoned houses or buildings for about a year, before becoming a Bounty Hunter. She's been doing this job since, and is considered quite good as it by many.

Strengths :
- - Survival; fire building, locating/building makeshift shelter.
- - Traditional medicine; herbal treatment, spiritual treatment.
- - Nature; weather predictions, foraging, plant identification.

- - Nature!

Dislikes:
- - Bigotry.
- - Unnatural body modifications; meaningless tattoos, piercings.
- - Cities.
- - Anything preventing nature from retaking Earth.

Personality :
- - A wistful boy, his head in the clouds and his heart impressionable. Kotiro's mind is filled with passion for bygone days; a passion which leaves little room for much else. A curiosity plagues his thought process and drives him to curious places, amongst curious people. His soul is less than serious and tends to bring light to dark places. It's uncommon for Kotiro's lighthearted nature to falter, though stress has a definitively adverse effect on him. His innocence isn't fit for a Dark World, though he doesn't let it prevent him from lending a helpful hand wherever necessary. His preliminary motive while on his journey is to aid wherever possible, and act as a neutral force in otherwise hopeless conflicts.

Backstory :

- Kawau Island and the Maori people.
- - The North Island of New Zealand was rendered uninhabitable by the last atrocity of the Silicon Age; the third World War. Radiation came en masse from Australia after the first Super-Weapons impacted across the globe, and although New Zealand itself wasn't hit directly it succumbed to nationwide radiation poisoning. Rumors persist of the habitability of New Zealand's South Island, though everyone from Kotiro's tribe who'd made the trip to see for themselves never made the trip home. Slightly northeast of the North Island lies a small island dubbed Kawau Island, a place thought to be free from radiation until recent decades. This is where Kotiro's Maori tribe resides. The Tribe's founders were mainly tourists who'd been visiting the island when the world went Dark, although some Maori tribe members were present photographing the stunning flora and fauna residing on the island as well. Shortly after the world went Dark, the humans on Kawau Island reverted to the tribal ways of New Zealand under the leadership of the Maori photographers. They learned to fish the local waters rather than disturb the ecosystem on the island, and even began to domesticate various animal breeds on the island before many began to succumb to radiation poisoning, as did members of the Tribe. Soon, as the fish population began to disperse to clearer waters, the Tribe reopened Kawau Island's old copper mines and began forging weapons to hunt with from the precious metal. Their primary principle turned from preservation of nature to survivability and adaptation after only a few decades. Even then, with time, the animal populations on the island were decreasing in size and getting more and more tainted every year. It was clear that drastic action was required, and plans to relocate the Tribe were made. Several small groups were sent to various places. One to Australia, another to New Zealand's South Island, many to Polynesian islands, and the final to America. This is the most recent event in the Tribe's history.

- Kotiro's History
- - Everyone in the Tribe was designated a role from birth, and Kotiro was no exception. He was given the task of Medicinal Expert, and the traditional tattoo to match. Typically this role was given to a female, hence his embarrassing nickname. An exception was made due to the low population of women in the Tribe after a lengthy bout of radiation poisoning. From a young age Kotiro studied medicinal herbs present on the island, as well as spiritual practices of the Maori tribe. He quickly became the assistant to the island's current Medicinal Expert, a title he was to inherit when he became an adult. Plans changed, however, when the Tribe started to change. When the Tribe turned to mining and hunting over fishing. It wasn't long before his designated role turned to Head Gatherer due to his extensive knowledge of plants on the island. Again, though, this changed fairly quickly when he turned eighteen. He became Medicinal Expert once again, but only to a small group of five. Everyone in this group held an important role, and was the best of their trade on the island. They were to make a long voyage to America, a land of opportunity in bygone years, with a makeshift sailboat that hardly fit the five of them with their supplies. The trip to America lasted nearly a year, with two members meeting their fate in the harsh waters. The remaining three arrived on the west coast of America after their nine month trip. They arrived malnourished and scared. Despite their best judgement, they split up in an attempt to see as much as possible and agreed to meet back in the ruins of San Diego in exactly five years. It's been three years since, and Kotiro is traveling the Midwest.

Name: Jeanne (formerly Jeanne Kiefer)
Aliases: Big Sis, and on some occasions; Bestest Big Sis. American Cellar Monster
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Abnormal? If so Power: Monstrous Abnormality:
Severe exposure to X-radiation has transformed Jeanne in a number of ways; her teeth have grown sharp enough to tear through flesh with ease, and can even sunder through tough hides, her left arm has mutated into a gruesome mass of hardened muscle, flesh and sinew, ended with a trio of grisly talons made from mutated bone. Her most terrifying trait of all, however, is her ability to consume, digest and regenerate from Xidian-radioactive matter.
Abnorm Type: Type 3
Abnorm Rank: C

Appearance: Jeanne wears whatever clothes she's able to scavenge; a blood-stained and tattered white undershirt that she woke up in, a pair of WG military fatigues, a finger-less glove and matching black boots, and a fur jacket that she scavenged off of a raider's dead body. She's slightly shorter than average for someone her age, with a lean build.
Eye colour: Red
Hair colour: Blonde
Weight: 160 lbs.
Height: 5.0" (152.1 cm.)
Body Modifications: Scar across face

Personality: Cynical, thuggish and rude; in front of strangers, Jeanne acts and speaks harshly and with little compassion towards those she has no trust in.
Her behavior in front of Abigail, however, is almost as different as night and day; doting and chiding her, almost like an older sister would their junior.
She has vague memories of once being human, though what little she remembers paints a very unpleasant image of who she was before, so she's abandoned any attempt to learn about her past.
She believes that Abigail may be her only chance at redemption for her sins, and that she may be the only family she could ever have, and so she'll do anything in her power to keep her safe.
Likes:
  • Smoking
  • Eating
  • Fighting
  • Making Abigail happy
Dislikes:
  • Abnorm gangs
  • Bounty Hunters
  • Scaring Abigail
  • Her own sordid history
  • Getting scolded by her sister for smoking or swearing

  • An expert in the art of Close Quarters Combat. She's mastered using her claws and teeth in conjunction with her natural footwork.
  • Her regenerative abilities can make her difficult to kill, provided she has a full stomach.
  • Well versed in the ways of the wasteland, making her an excellent survivalist, and tactician.
Weaknesses:
  • Her regeneration is slow, and limited by how much Xidian is present in her body.
    • She also has to be careful not to ingest too much Xidian, otherwise she will die.
  • Emotionally dependent on Abigail. If anything threatens her, Jeanne will do anything she can to save her, regardless of her own safety.

Abnormal? If so Power: Tentacles:
The left side of Abigail's head, from her eye socket to the upper half of her cheek is a massive cavity. The muscle, skin and nervous tissue that would normally be present has been mutated into a bundle of small, fleshy phalanges, the largest of which holding her left eye and optic nerves. Although seemingly useless, her tentacles are fully prehensile, allowing her to use them effectively as a third hand. Their most useful feature is that each tentacle is covered in a mass of olfactory cells, giving Abigail an extraordinary sense of smell.
Abnorm Type: Type 2
Abnorm Rank: E

Appearance: A small, meek girl that carries a friendly smile everywhere she goes. She usually wears a thick, heavy coat that's several sizes too big and a burgundy scarf, with a white shirt and denim overalls underneath.

Personality: A kind, pure child, who braves the harshness of the world with a warm smile.
She's fond of exploring and searching for artifacts from the old world; her favorite being books, which she enjoys living vicariously through.
Despite her impressive knowledge gained from books, she's still somewhat naive.
Although she is more willing to give strangers the benefit of the doubt than her sister, she's still shy when meeting new people,
She loves her sister, though sometimes she gets annoyed by her insistent mothering, however, she does understand that it's all with her best interest in mind.
Her greatest wish is for her and Jeanne to find someplace safe.

  • Ability to sense other living things nearby through the use her tentacle's sense of "smell"
  • Excellent at fitting herself into tight spaces
Weaknesses:
  • Prone to infections

  • As small and fragile as you would expect an 11-year-old to be, she relies on Jeanne to protect her from the harshness of the world
---
History:
Jeanne Kiefer was once a bandit prowling the desert wastelands of southwestern New-America (Present Day Nevada) with no home, no family or friends, and the only clues to her past life being the clothes on her back and what scarce few memories remained in her head.
Life was difficult in the lawless wastes; food and water were scarce, and like many others, Jeanne killed just to live and lived just to kill, preying upon anyone foolish enough to wander into the harsh Mojave desert.
Jeanne found use in her newfound ability to consume Xidian-irradiated flesh, which ensured that she never went hungry. The horrific act of feeding upon men and abnorms alike came at the cost of her sanity.
Every day, she lost a bit more of her humanity, and every feast plunged her further into madness.
In two years time, she had all but devolved into a mindless monster.
Then came the day she met Abigail.

---
She ran as far and as fast as her feet could take her, but Abigail could still hear the voices of those two men behind her. The scorching sand burned and tore at her feet as it made it's way inside of her shoes. It assaulted her face and slipped beneath her bandages with each step she took into the ceaseless buffeting wind, and it clumped together on her tongue and within her lungs with each hyperventilating gasp that she took.
Her family had come to this desert by caravan, hoping to help the poor people living here.
What could have caused their wheel to explode like that?
And why were those men attacking them?
How could it have turned out like this?
Why didn't she listen to her father and stay home!?
Her foot suddenly caught on something half-buried in the ground, tearing her away from her regretful thoughts, and sending her face-first into the blistering sand below.
She coughed and spit out the grit that filled her mouth, and then slowly flopped onto her back to see what her foot had caught on.
She could see a small alabaster bump peeking out above the surface, but as more of the exposed sand was blown away by the wind, Abigail could recognize it as a shoulder, and could see the top of the arm attached to it.
She resisted the urge to cry out at the sight, remembering that those two men were still in hot pursuit.
She heard them shout something and could make out the outline of their bodies among the myriad of sand. They were close, and would soon be upon her. She couldn't run anymore, she needed to find a place to hide.
Abigail desperately looked to her surroundings, but all she could find was sand, sand, and more sand. She felt her hope ebbing away, that she would join the corpse in front of her in a sandy grave, until her eye caught upon a hard, rugged point jutting out from a nearby dune.
She clawed her way towards it, dragging her exhausted body with her. As her hands frantically brushed away the sand, she discovered a long crack, and a rusted handle. A door! She'd found the remains of a bunker!
Summoning the last of her strength, Abigail pulled at the handle, until the small door burst open with a loud creak, releasing a small avalanche of fine, smooth sand. Abigail dug and dug, until enough sand was outside of the structure to create a hole for her to squeeze through.
"I heard something over here!" She heard behind her as she dashed into the dark, suffocating cubbyhole and closed the door behind her, closing her eyes tight as she shut herself off from the world around her, praying that something would come to her rescue.
---
"Where the hell did that runt go!?" the shorter of the two bandits impatiently shouted, stomping into the sandy depression where Abigail once was.
"Relax, we'll find it. She can't have gone far." the taller one replied, cocking his old shotgun.
"I hope so, she'll make us a nice fortune if we can sell her over to one of those gangs. Then we can buy us a ticket out of this hellhole!" the stout man exclaimed, waving his hatchet exasperatedly at the mountainous dunes around them.
"Are you sure you heard somethin' over here?"
"Positive. Now stop talking and start--huh?"
The sound of sand shifting stopped the pairs' conversation.
A single arm burst out from beneath the earth, and with it, came a head of blonde hair, with tired, gleaming red eyes that stared at the ground, as the rest of her body rose from the dirt like the dead returning to the living, revealing legs clad in dirty, green fatigues, a small, white undershirt, covered in suspicious bloodstains that coated her collar, and most frighteningly of all, her other arm, a mass of dark red muscle that still remained half-buried, hiding what lay at it's end.
"W-What the fuck are you!?" The taller man fearfully asked, leveling his gun at the unexpected new arrival.
The figure didn't respond to his question in any way, besides turning her red eyes away from the sand, and focusing on him with an eerie hunger.

---
Abigail tensed further in her hiding spot, curled up into a little ball as she listened with dread to the noises outside.
First she heard the men outside conversing, then shouting, then a horrid, unearthly shrieking, the sound of a gunshot, more screaming, and then...silence.
She waited seconds, which seemed to drag on to hours, which seemed to drag on to centuries as she waited for any further disturbance, or for the door to suddenly burst open, exposing her to the world. Maybe it would be the men who would open it, maybe it would be her dad, and they would go home together and laugh this all off as a bad memory.
Her father didn't come.
But neither did the men.
Nothing came for her, and she heard nothing but silence.
Eventually, curiosity got the better of her, and she dared take a peek outside, opening the door ajar.
What she found was a grisly scene that made her gag at it's grotesqueness; the men were assuredly dead, mangled and scattered by some horrific force. It caused Abigail to momentarily retreat back into her hiding spot, hopeful that whatever had done this wouldn't find her, until she saw a third, still intact body lying on it's side among the carnage.
From her vantage point, Abigail could hear her shallow breathing and coughing, and could see that same arm she tripped over, now desperately clung to her side in an attempt to staunch the flow of blood that poured out.
Cautiously stepping out of the bunker, Abigail slowly tip-toed over to the woman, side-stepping the grisly remains of the two bandits, until she was by her side.
The girl was an abnorm, her pointed teeth and monstrous, blood-soaked claws made that clear enough. From what Abigail could see between the girls reddened fingers, she also had taken a serious gunshot wound, which threatened to open at any second, spilling out the woman's internal organs.
A wave of guilt washed over Abigail, seeing her mysterious savior in such a state. If she hadn't of ran this way, this girl would have never gotten shot.
She didn't want to just watch as the person that saved her life dies! She had to help! That was why her family had come here in the first place!
Gripping the girl's arm with renewed resolve, Abigail solemnly stated "Don't worry, I'm not going to let you die. I promise."

---
Everything hurt.
Her head, her arm, her side.
Especially her side.

What was that smell in the air?
Was someone...cooking? Here?
She got up to move, but her body refused to comply, instead rewarding her with a sickening wave of pain for her efforts.
Scanning around with her eyes gave her little information, though she could tell that she was somewhere unfamiliar to her, and that she was shielded from the oppressive sun and sand by the wooden and metal structure next to her.
She could feel the scratchy texture of old gauze on her waist, and on her left arm. Did someone stitch up her wounds?
Where was she?
How did she get here?
She heard the sound of a door opening somewhere behind her, accompanied by light footfalls that traveled towards her left side, and then the sound of someone putting down a ceramic pot somewhere nearby.
Suddenly, a young, blonde child popped into her view, half of her gentle, concerned face obscured by pristine, white bandages.
"You're awake. Do you feel okay?"
No answer. Nothing but awkward silence. The girl sat down beside her, looking discomforted by the lack of a response.
"U-Uhm...I just wanted to thank you for saving me from those people a-and I'm sorry you got hurt...a-and well...do you think you could..."
the girl petered out, obviously too uncomfortable to finish the sentence.
Still no response. Something about the look on the girl's face...the way she spoke to her...it stirred up old thoughts that had long since been forgotten.
She wanted to ask her
"why are you helping me?" but the words just wouldn't come out. It was like she was on the verge of remembering something, but just couldn't quite grasp it.
What a pain.
"Are you at least gonna tell me your name?" the girl replied, looking disheartenedly at her knees, but the sudden spark of realization in her patient's eyes caught her attention. She could see gears long rusted shut beginning to work again.

"J-Jeanne...My name is Jeanne." She finally replied.
"Abigail." the girl replied, taking her hard, calloused hand, and holding it between her own.

Name: Kale
