MONOKUMA
Monokuma

Age: ???
Gender: Male

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

[HISTORY/BACKSTORY]
Monokuma, the Monochrome Bear. He acts as the icon of the Mastermind of the Killing Game, and is the Self-Proclaimed Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy. Designed by, and catered for by the Mastermind, he hasn't gotten to see much of the world. However, likewise to the Mastermind, his thirst for despair seemed to be never quenched.

He was based on a simple teddy bear, but was infused with traits of those almost like a demon. While it may seem he has some-form of split personality, it is most likely the Mastermind's variation of Monokuma. He has many siblings (or should I say, robot clones) who help spread dispair from outside the walls of Hope's Peak Academy.

NAME Kori Gesshin
IMAGE OF CHARACTER/APPEARANCE
18910bf5cd1d188ed18a05f807393b1981972bd6_00[1][1].jpg

AGE:17
GENDER:Male
ALIGNMENT: Neutral at best, bad at worst, prioritizes own life.
SUPER HIGHSCHOOL LEVEL TALENT: Snowboarder

TALENT DESCRIPTION

Kori was perceived as having a rather astounding snowboarding ability when he cleared the slopes of Niesko United in record time, accuracy and precision. He had been training up until that point vigorously trying to become better and better, striving to enter the winter Olympics. But it was not until said event in his life he had gotten so much notoriety, sure his friends and classmates and family knew he was a good snowboarder, but he had gotten News recognition, for his feats.

Due to all of the constant training and exercise. which was required to obtain his Super Highs chool level recognition Kori is actually quite athletic, he had done lots of cardio, allowing for excellent stamina, and heart condition. He also did some light weight lifting on the side, to keep his muscles in decent condition, He is more so nimble and quick then strong, though per say.

In addition to increased athletic performance in general, he has also a higher tolerance to higher altitudes or in this case less oxygen. Although some of his genes being Himalayan in nature, definitely help as well, as many of them are known to possess said gene which allows for a higher lower oxygen tolerance, putting less strain on the system then someone who hadn't had much exposure. In addition he has a general higher tolerance to the cold, due to being up in the mountains so often training or snowboarding/usually both.

HISTORY/BACKSTORY
(At Least 3 Paragraphs)

Kori grew up in a rather sporty house hold with two other brothers, one had persued baseball and was also fairly skilled, while the other had pursued basketball, he was also rather skillful in his sport of choice. HIs father was a mere salary man, his mother a flouriest, but on his father's side, his grandfather had been quite an athlete himself. The family all got along fairly well although Kori's father was away at work a lot. Kori would also at times go over and help his mother out at her shop and what not. Usually doing before going off to the mountains for the day.

Kori grew up in the Japanese suburbs, thankfully he had always resided near some mountains which worked out quite nicely for snowboarding in the winter. He would spend many days up there training, he would also do work occasionally for people to earn some yen, so he could buy better boards and equipment. Once he proved to his parents that it would be a passion that he would stay by they supplied him with premium equipment and what not.

Kori had been attending at a fairly average high school not terribly popular or unpopular until naturally, he was on the news, in which he became quite well known across the entire school. Getting even more notoriety became almost an obsession point of him at one point as he was constantly fighting not to get outshined by his brothers. He wasn't the best academic but that was mostly because he just didn't test well, which definitely was not helpful, thankfully his academic ability saved his lackluster grades in a lot of cases.

PERSONALITY

Post News event, he was fairly cold to strangers, only warming up to them through continued interaction, but nowadays after said event, he has become much more extroverted, not minding being the center of attention, or praise. Seeming to have lost some of his humbleness in the process

Kotaro Tenma
latest

Kotaro likes to wear a leather jacket, black t-shirt and dark jeans as he thinks that makes him look cool. Furthermore, he dyed his hair purple to give his mundane brown eyes a brick-red appearance.

17 Years Old
Male
True Neutral

SHSL Philosopher
Calling philosophical thinking a talent poses quite the number of questions but, then again, so does Kotaro's entire existence. What Kotaro has achieved, either by some random mutation in his brain or providence divine, is a higher order of philosophical understanding than all other great thinkers. Just from seconds of pondering, he was the potential to pose or answer almost any question. This isn't to say that his talent is omniscience, and a majority of the answers he has are hypothetical or even questions themselves. In fact, he has so many opinions and arguments for either side of any debate that he doesn't believe any of his own answers.

This talent of his, not that he would call it one, was first discovered by a university professor who encountered a young Kotaro sitting at a desk in a library. The professor had been cutting across the library to the darkest corner of the archives, where only the most dedicated of intellectuals went. Along the way, he spotted the six-year-old boy engaged in a heated conversation with a woman. Silently approaching, the professor noticed that the middle-aged woman was the librarian and that she was visibly frustrated. From what he overheard, the professor understood why and interrupted, offering to sit and talk with the boy himself. Fuming but grateful that she had been liberated, the librarian left the two alone. The professor began discussing the books on the desk with the boy and listened to all his 'complaints'. That which had angered the librarian so fascinated the professor and he looked on Kotaro with a child-like wonder. The young boy was questioning everything, as young boys do, but with such a profound level of thinking that even the professor could not find any answers or rebuttals for all that the boy came up with.

This higher order of thinking isn't the mark of greatest intelligence. While Kotaro is certainly smarter than the majority of his peers, he is not a genius and does not have infinite knowledge in all - or any - areas of expertise. In fact, while he can come to question a lot about life, this talent doesn't even given him extensive knowledge about life and existence. However, this ability of his can be advantageous in a secondary sense that he can and will question everything. This makes him cautious but also makes him an excellent interrogator. Furthermore, his logical and moral reasoning is of quite a high tier. That said, there are many disadvantages that come with a mind like his, or so Kotaro believes. He feels as though life is more difficult for him and that the conflict and tension created within him are the only thing he can't understand. Sometimes, Kotaro finds it difficult to stop asking questions. Often, he gets lost in existential crises and is a slave to his core absurdist beliefs.

A Tormented Past
In his early teens, years after having been found by the professor, Kotaro settled into a fairly average middle school and enjoyed stage acting as a fun and engaging pass-time. It was a time-consuming but enjoyable hobby that distracted him from the boredom of regular activities. Many of his teachers considered him to be a very bright boy, and he was certainly intelligent, but he decided that academic studies weren’t worth his time and put little effort in. He could have achieved extremely great things at school, but instead settled for “top 15%” of students instead. He didn’t care much for showing off his knowledge and intellect and he felt as though he was already the subject of enough attention. Despite being quite skinny and not particularly strong, Kotaro wasn’t completely unathletic. He enjoyed casual games of soccer and was an avid sprinter. Above all, he was a pleasant person at school and was widely admired. Until, when he was a bit older, something happened that completely shook his philosophies and changed his perspective forever.
Few people are able to pinpoint the exact moment that their life was changed and their personalities evolved. But the horror stuck with Kotaro; he was the remnants of his own troubled past. Then, in that moment, he was stuck in the back of an ambulance. It was uncomfortable and loud. His head stung and the ringing of his ears pulled me back into that moment. The crash of a skateboard. Aoi had just landed a kickflip and Kotaro could hear the harsh drag of his wheels on the gravelly concrete. But the sound was slowly fading away. His heart had sped up, while time seemed to slow. He withdrew a trembling hand from his hoodie pocket and ran a long, thin finger across his brow until it left in its wake a trail of thick crimson. He ran his other hand through his hair, feeling for a wound. There was blood on his face, yet it wasn’t his own. Before him, a young boy and one of his friends had collided, the young delinquent having drawn a short pocket knife. It had grazed the face of his friend and flung the warm scarlet rain onto his face. A thumping sound drew his attention to the street. It wasn't a thumping, but a bouncing. The bouncing of the soccer ball that belonged to the group of young boys, which his friends had messed with and kicked away. And the bouncing was followed by the tapping of small feet; a boy's shoes. Towards the road it went and thus so did he. Without a single regard for consequence or his own life, Kotaro found himself shooting across the pavement faster than his conscience was able to react. He was too late.
The ball, and the boy, had already reached the road. He was young and naïve, eleven at the most, and wasn’t as street-wise as his unruly friend. There was no hope now. Nevertheless, he sprung off his feet and grabbed hold of the boy as an oncoming car hit them. Flying through the air, so close to the ground and face-to-face with the car’s bright lights, everything seemed to swirl and blur. Despite Kotaro’s efforts, the boy took the greater force; he was so powerless to protect him. Holding his head against his chest, Kotaro dragged the boy to the curb. It was a difficult struggle but he tried to keep his head and back supported. Once he was lying on the side of the pavement, Kotaro turned to the driver of the car for help. Without a word, the bastard sped off. His friends, who were much clearer-headed than him, were phoning an ambulance. Before long, he was in the back of the ambulance, questioning everything that had brought him to that moment. Even now, on the edge of existence, the boy was warm. Yet Kotaro’s hands – red with blood, black with dirt, white with paleness – were cold.
After that event, Kotaro was far from the same person. All that remained of his former self was his talent and knowledge and decent set of skills. All the things that people had commended him for and praised and admired about him, but none of the things that made him Kotaro Tenma. He was lucky to walk away from the accident almost unscathed, but it had taken a massive emotional toll on him. From then on, Kotaro vowed to never be like the foolish delinquents who caused the accident or the selfish coward who sped away. You’d have thought the experience turned him into a stronger person. But instead, it corrupted his mind. His existential crises became graver as the tone of his thinking grew darker. The change turned him into a much quieter, pensive person. He became easy to anger but also kept to himself. He, in a bout of hypocrisy, slowly grew more selfish and valued himself over others. He isn’t incapable of love and friendship now, he is simply more inclined to push others away and try to protect himself from any further emotional harm.

The Thinker Underneath
Deep down, Kotaro may still be the kind and more pleasant person that he used to be. He had a good sense of humour, and the remnants of that are apparent in his sarcastic wit and the occasional smile he cracks. Now, however, he is always deep in thought. He isn't particularly assertive and chooses to remain quiet unless he himself really wants to speak. Kotaro is also torn by indecision a lot and finds it difficult to walk the line between right and wrong. That's why he stays out of things, to protect himself. His neutrality comes from him neither being evil nor bothering to care. Above all, Kotaro is cynical. He has been made this way by years of searching for answers in a meaningless world but also by the ghosts that follow him around. However, Kotaro is still human. He both requires and desires friendship and love and so he can sometimes be seen opening up to those around him whom he truly trusts. More than anything else, Kotaro wishes to find good people to befriend and love and to find a kind wife to lead him out of his abyss of despair and into the vibrant fields of hope. That is the answer which he seeks.

Bastuo Kakusu
584474.png

Age: 17
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Super High School Level Talent: Thievery

HISTORY/BACKSTORY
Bastuo was raised in exceedingly harsh conditions, where you would have to fight to eat. Those who weren't built for fighting either died, or had to get sneaky. That's exactly what Bastuo did. Armed with a knife, he would sneak into homes and take whatever he could. He learned to pickpocket, pick locks, pick up on lies, other things to pick with...

Of course, he never had the stomach to kill anybody. Sure, he'd been in his fair share of fights, but those had ended with missing eyes and fingers. In one case, things got particularly sour, with someone who had an affinity for setting people on fire... But never death. After a time, He got so proficient in his work, that several big people took notice. It wasn't long before he was being hired to take on dangerous tasks for whopping amounts of money. With this money, Bastuo payed off his bounties and applied to Hope's Peak Academy.

Finally, a place to get away from all the violence and stress...

PERSONALITY
Deceitful, as a thief has to be. He can twist your words around his silver tongue and make you out to be the villain when he very well knows that he's in the wrong. He can sway from one trait to the other. Snarky, dashing, ruthless, calculating, funny, friendly, you name it. This has aroused suspicion everywhere he goes.

He's clever. He had to be clever to live where he did. He'd never had a problem with reading, or anything like that. But it would be nice to learn how to do other things...like math, above the sixth-grade level.

Charismatic. He'll sway you to his side in time, whether he legitimately likes you or not. He may playfully take your things from right under your nose and hand them back with a chuckle and a teasing comment. He may win you over with his quick wit and perception. Just be very careful around him. Sure, he shudders at the idea of killing, but it's in a thief's nature to do anything and everything to get out of a bad situation unharmed, isn't it?

[OTHER]
He bears a large, nasty scar on his face from a burn he got during a brutal beatdown.

Can wield a knife pretty well, but doesn't like to.

Wears a coat with the hood up, in an attempt to cover the scar as best he can.

Not above selling out to get what he wants

Might be a good person if you look deep down, but you have to look deep.
