My Interest Check
(A note on magic: due to Dalet’s origins (a barren spot of land leftover from a war between gods) Dalet does not contain the residual magical energies (mana) required for large spells leaving its people with only smaller, low key spells. The only acception to this is the rainforest, in which a magic item provides the shamans of the Neko and only the shamans of the neko (aka, those it deems worthy) with spells of greater power. So long as they use them wisely. (Their largely healing and defensive spells though).

Races:

Humans: Humans are everywhere. With a wide variety of appearances and personalities, Humans truly are an everyman race. Unlike the humans of Lamed, the humans of Dalet have devious as a majority.

Orcs: The orcs of Dalet are strong and united. They're about the closest you'll find to a true united faction. Orcs are generally tough muddy green naturally armored individuals who usually try their best to avoid getting involved in the territorial wars between the various Thieves Empires. They have a swath of the desert specifically sanctioned as their territory and due to their ferocity in protecting it, no thieves empire has made a move to try and snap it up.

Lizardfolk: Lizardfolk are lizard-like humanoids with a penchant for all things valuable. That’s why it’s a good thing they live here in the desert of Dalet instead of in Lamed where there's too much order for them. There is a small subspecies of lizardfolk who have chameleon powers, allowing them to shift colors to match their background.

Vampires: Vampirism is rampant in Dalet. No rules and prejudices means vampires are as free as everyone else to do what they want. Not all vampires are evil. They’re just misunderstood. They have pale skin, red eyes, burn in sunlight, and have to drink the blood of the living to survive. However, they do not need just sentient race blood and can easily drink animal blood.

Neko: Neko are cat people who live in the small rainforest in Dalet. They are so far removed from the rest of Dalet that they could almost be considered a separate nation. The Neko live on Dalet because their goddess, Shuno, decided they needed a place to live away from the other races. Thus she created the rainforest of Dalet. However, she was not able to imbue mana back into the land so instead she gave the Neko powerful talisman that would let her chosen shamans use more powerful magic.

Dwarves: The dwarves of Dalet are very much like the Dwarves of Lamed. They live under the mountains of Dalet in underground cities. However, unlike their Lamed kin, the Dwarves of Dalet are not druids. They still grow plants underground but they do so by hand.

Beetlefolk: the beetlefolk are similar to the lizardfolk in that they are a race of humanoid beetles. However, unlike the lizardfolk the beetlefolk have a strong sense of honor, often becoming samurais. Each beetlefolk follows their own code of honor. They also have four arms.

Name: Elif Nur Demir
Race: Human, Daletian
Gender: Female
Occupation: Singer, healer
Eye color: Red
Hair color: Black

Weapons: Oud, dagger
Equipment: Dress
Other Items: Hair ornament, sketchbook, coin pouch, cracked pendant

Racial abilities:
Other skills and abilities: Singing, stringed instruments, moderate practice with a flute, dancing, drawing, and some farming knowledge.
Magic: Elif could have been a gifted magician were it not for her location. With no knowledge of incantations, Elif learned on her own how to manipulate what little mana she can through rhythm and song. She usually uses this to weave calming or healing effects into her music.

Appearance:
Dancer1.jpg

Personality: Elif's excitable, stubborn nature can rub people the wrong way sometimes, but she usually means well by it. She's a romantic who weaves her energy and emotions into her songs. Even when she's resting, she is often on the lookout for new sources of inspiration. This can sometimes lead her into dangerous situations, but in her perfectly good opinion nothing worth living for is completely safe. Despite her carefree approach to life, she is empathetic towards others. She tries to use what power she has to help those she sees are in need of it, whether they want her help or not.

History: Elif was born as a farmer's child by a river in Dalet, along with five siblings. Together the siblings grew up on stories their father had heard during his days as a merchant. Though her days were filled with work, her nights were spent on castles beneath the sea, genies bound by strange magic, and knights clad in silver armor. However, while she was still young her father was robbed and killed while on his way back from the nearby town. While her older brothers took over the farm, Elif found solace in her mother's oud. The stories she had been told became her inspiration, and eventually the silent nights were filled with laughter and music again. As she grew older and her skills as both a musician and a healer grew, she began to realize she could do far more out in the world than she could staying with her family. Perhaps it was her destiny, just like in those stories. So she stayed with her family for one final harvest before setting out to town with little more than a few coins, her mother's oud, and a pendant from her eldest brother.

Theme song:

Quotes: "Training and practice don't mean anything if you don't have the heart! Passion is what turns knights into heroes, leaders into kings, sounds into music. It's all about the heart, and no teacher can tell you how to use it."

Name: Sakar Dreekon
Race: Lizardfolk
Gender: male
Occupation/class: Firedancer
Eye color: greenish yellow
Hair color: He’s a lizard. They have no hair.

Weapons:

Torches: These torches are specially designed to be utilized in Sakar’s fire dances and combat.

Knife: When torches fail a knife will do you good.

Equipment:

Rope: rope is useful.

Matches: for lighting his torches.

Journal: It’s not really a journal. It has a secret compartment.

Other Items:

Satchel: It’s a satchel. It has a secret pocket. It carries stuff.

Racial abilities:

Claws and Teeth: He’s a lizard person. Of course he has claws and teeth.

Regenerative abilities: again: lizard person.

Camouflage: Sakar can change the colors of his scales to match his background. He cannot, however change the color of his eyes or any items he happens to be carrying. (luckily, he’s a lizard. If he takes off his clothes nobody's gonna mind.)

Other skills and abilities:

Thievery: you need it to survive in Dalet.

Stealth and Discretion: It’s kind of required.

Fire Dancing: It’s his job. And also his method of combat.

Athletics: required for his job and jumping across rooftops.

Magic: none

Appearance (description or picture):
image.jpeg

Personality: Sakar is a rather quiet person, something you could never tell from his stage performances in which he is loud and boisterous. He prefers to stay silent as so not to betray any information about himself or others. He does have a rather wicked sense of humor, however and makes small cracks under his breath.

History: Ever since he was young Sakar was amazed by dragons. He knew that Dragons and lizardfolk were related somehow (they are, in fact, distantly related). Not being able to breathe fire, Sakar settled for the next best thing: fire dancing. Sakar trained himself to be amazing at fire dancing. He then utilized it in combat in order to survive in Dalet.

Theme song (optional):
Quotes (optional): “...” “Who’s ready to play with fire!!!” “Didn’t your mother teach you not to play with fire?” “Hissss.”
Other (optional):

Camouflage: Sakar can change the colors of his scales to match his background. He cannot, however change the color of his eyes or any items he happens to be carrying. (luckily, he’s a lizard. If he takes off his clothes nobody's gonna mind.)

Elif minds. Elif minds a lot.

I did not know that. I am not a biologist.

That being said I feel like beetles and Lizards don't work with anything.

Btw which types of half-breeds are impossible to create? Are they all possible?
I did not know that. I am not a biologist.

That being said I feel like beetles and Lizards don't work with anything.
That is correct. Beetlefolk and lizardsfolk cannot breed with anything outside their own species. Different biology. Vampires cannot breed but any species can be a vampire if they are bit. Orcs, nekos, dwarves and humans can interbreed with each other and thats it.

(I split occupation and class for mine, hope you don't mind)

Name: Zofweni Ulkkosaa
Race: Lizardfolk
Gender: Female
Occupation: Princess
Class: Barbarian
Eye color: Blue-green
Hair color: N/A

Weapons:
Halberd - Zofweni's primary weapon is a long, sturdy halberd. The steel that comprises the head has a rusty-red cast, and the haft is made of pale, thickly banded wood.
Short spear - These light, throwable spears are customary to Zofweni's people, and are most commonly carved from bone by their wielder. Hers is carved in a slightly wavy pattern and bears broad stripes of red-and-gold paint, which is partially worn away.

Equipment: A length of rope, a small hunting satchel, a small skinning knife, and a chunk of flint.
Other Items: A sizable amount of gold and various pilfered treasures.

Racial abilities: A slightly faster healing rate.
Other skills and abilities: Adept with polearms and other long weapons, also an avid hunter and a capable leader and diplomat (though being diplomatic is, according to her, decidedly boring).
Magic: N/A

Appearance (description or picture):
female_dragonborn_fighter_by_severdhead-daurk80.jpg

Personality: Zofweni is extremely emotional and passionate, and puts all her energy into whatever the task at hand is. She has a notably short temper, but otherwise is highly optimistic and upbeat. Often refuses to heed advice, rushing ahead without thinking, and prefers action to discussion. Has something to prove to her people and to the world.

History: Zofweni is the crown princess of a small, isolated nation of Lizardfolk in the far northern reaches of the desert. Her parents had no other children, and those close to the Merchant-King often quietly nursed doubts about the capability of his daughter to rule (behind his back, of course). Zofweni was molded by these doubts from a young age; she aspired to be the greatest warrior she could be, to discover untold ancient riches, to explore the lands of the other peoples of Dalet. Despite the peace and prosperity her people have enjoyed in her 20 years of life, it was not without turmoil as a terrible affliction suddenly struck her father, rendering him unable to stand and leaving him in constant pain. The doubts that had so long been mere rumors on the wind escalated into open accusations of ineptitude hurled at her and her family.

Unable to handle the controversy about her likely succession to leadership of her people and desperate to save her father, Zofweni departed on her own. Her mission was two-fold: prove her worth as a leader and monarch, and find some way to save her father's life.

Name: Desmond Bogoraz
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Professional Bodyguard
Class: Fighter
Eye color: Light blue
Hair color: White; formerly blond

Weapons: Besides his fists, a heavy bearded battleax is Desmond's only weapon, and the only one he needs.
Equipment: A rudimentary first aid kit for emergencies.
Other Items: Large amounts of gold concealed in various places on his person.

Racial abilities: N/A
Other skills and abilities: Combat, protection, first-aid, underworld connections.
Magic: N/A

Appearance (description or picture):
478b285f2245bb4b2302f17f2558e2d3-character-portraits-character-art.jpg

Personality: Quiet and darkly intense, bitter and seething with anger on the inside.

History: Desmond is renowned as one of the finest bodyguards in the criminal underworld. For forty years, he's passed from one employer or the other. All of them have escaped from harm (relatively) unscathed... though the same cannot be said for Desmond himself. After forty years of being directed to kill, maim, intimidate and beat down every kind and creed of person imaginable, his emotions have been locked away somewhere deep inside himself. Though he generally avoids speaking unless spoken to, and appears calm on the surface, he's full to the brim of anger at the world for denying him a normal life with people to love, and anger at himself for his past actions. Currently unemployed as a result of his age, he drifts in and out of bars and other seedy underworld haunts, drinking his feelings away.

4428947.jpg
Name: Tosahn jor-Nohal
Race: Human (Letosi)
Gender: Male
Occupation/class: Spiritual Healer
Eye color: Brown
Hair color: Brown

Weapons: A redwood staff with a bronze cobra's head at its point. He has a small pocket knife he uses to cut bindings, though it doesn't see much use in combat.
Equipment: When Tosahn isn't in his doctor's uniform -- which was once fine and well-tailored -- he'll stick to more comfortable, loose-fitting clothes, which he maintains fastidiously to prolong their use. He keeps a basic pack of medical supplies including sutures, tinctures, splints, and poultices on-hand.
Other Items: A pack filled with food, extra clothes, some money, a bedroll, and a few large magical tomes.

Racial abilities: N/A
Other skills and abilities: Even without magic, Tosahn is a skilled physician. He can set bones, splint wounds, do sutures, and even deliver babies without magical aid. He's studied several languages in the past, and he has some experience in haggling at the market. He can sew clothes as well as wounds, is fairly good at fending for himself in the desert, and some of the food he cooks could even be considered edible.

Magic: Tosahn was born with the natural ability to perform magic and was trained for years in his home country, though the mana drain over Dalet has diminished his powers considerably. Still, he's very much a competent healer, able to stitch wounds together with a bit of concentration. His magic also grants him the ability to communicate with spirits, familiars and other creatures of mystical nature. They don't necessarily speak through words, but Tosahn can understand their emotions and psychic impressions. However, his communion with spirits leaves him quite vulnerable to daemonic possession, so he must be careful to take precautions before reaching out.

Appearance (description or picture):

Personality: Tosahn is well-suited to his role as doctor: forbearing, calm under pressure, and perhaps a little charming. He has a natural curiosity that landed him in trouble in his youth, though he merely sees himself as open-minded. However, underneath his inquisitive nature lies a genuine need to care for and lend aid to those around him. He is sympathetic to other people's suffering, and shows compassion to those who have seen neglect and understanding to those who have been forgotten. This has led him to his calling as a healer for both the mind and the body.

History: Dalet is not his native country, and their language is not his own. Tosahn son of Nohal was born on Letos, part of an island cluster far to the south of Lamed and Dalet. He was raised in a small yet prosperous town, and his family were proud and hardworking laborers. When he was nine, his magical abilities manifested as sparks dancing around his fingertips, and as was custom, he was sent to live with and become apprentice to the local shaman, Sadi jor-Mitsen. Even in his youth, Tosahn was eager to study magic under his new mentor and lose himself in stories of myth and the glory days. Shaman Sadi became a skilled teacher who earned Tosahn's utmost respect. Many nights, the two would stay up late into the night to meditate the will of the Spirits. Sometimes the two would wander away from town to spend a few extra hours of magical training. He and Sadi shared everything, speaking frankly to one another and developing a mutual respect. Tosahn could be headstrong and stubborn, but Sadi's persistence usually won out.

For a long time, life was calm and comfortable, but it -- like many things -- ended in tragedy as a plague epidemic swept over the village. Sadi and Tosahn worked themselves to the bone tending to those who had fallen sick, though it was becoming clear that total decimation was unavoidable. Desperate and haggard, Tosahn turned to less conventional magic in order to come up with an antidote. After a long ritual, a spirit whispered to him from the astral plane and offered the power to save the town from sickness in exchange for refuge within the young man's body. Tosahn accepted the deal, and with the spirit's power, he was able to cleanse his hometown of illness.

For the next few months, Tosahn's village would recover, and life would continue much in the same way as it did before. Sadi, however, took note of his apprentice's increasingly erratic behavior. He would make mysterious noises at night, steal from merchants, make obscene threats, and exhibit abnormal strength. The shaman assumed correctly that Tosahn's mind had been invaded by a demon, and performed an exorcism that night. The demon was unwilling to release such a fresh and malleable source of life, and Tosahn was already bound by his pact. Nonetheless, the demon was disposed of eventually. As punishment for becoming a willing host to a malignant spirit, Tosahn was banished from Letos forever.

Vowing to never fall prey to another demon, Tosahn exiled himself to the country of Dalet, knowing the scarcity of magic there would limit his contact with otherworldly beings. With that, he has begun rebuilding his life as a healer, establishing his own clinic and using what's left of his magic to help the sick and wounded, free of charge.

- Warp: Clay can teleport to any object he touches with his hands within ten seconds of physical contact.

Personality: Clay is outgoing and carefree to the point of plain conspicuity. Because of his gracelessness, he would make a god-awful thief, and instead chose the risky life of an adventurer. He has an unbreakable curiosity, and is always willing to learn something new. Along with this curiosity comes an iron will; Clay is utterly self-righteous and will never back down in the face of danger if he can achieve his goal. However, he tends to persevere in ways that are explosive; Clay is not one to use strategic means, and his every move has next to no thought put behind it. Clay is a spontaneous person, and he will do what he thinks is right without a second of hesitation. However, he is often unable to restrain himself, and his naivety can easily lead him into danger if he isn't careful.

History: Clay was born and raised in a poor, isolated town near western Dalet. None can say that he lived in luxury, as food was scarce in the arid desert lands that surrounded his small hometown. However, things were relatively peaceful; so peaceful, in fact, that Clay was never directly exposed to the Robber Barons who he'd only ever heard of. Despite slightly rough conditions, Clay grew strong, and he set off as soon as he could with few possessions to become an adventurer. He became an adventurer both to satiate his desire for exploration and to one day return home with riches that would be invested into the town, and in his novice mind the obvious place to start was Malius, the capital of the Pytharian Empire. When he arrived on his first hopeful day, he had no idea what kind of adventure he would be getting himself into...
